hey! i'm too anxious to come off anon at the moment, sorry, but i'm also a college student who tries to tackle ambitious projects, and an aspiring MSE. I'm rarely on tumblr anymore, so dm me, i'll share my discord (i don't really want to share it as publicly as a tumblr post) and i'd love to discuss muon catalyzed fusion. I don't remember all of the things i've said here but if i talked about my attempt to make what's essentially a dusty plasma fission-fragment generator that shoots relativistic particles at a graphite target in order to generate pions (and also thus muons) that are slowed down through lead shielding and guided into ammonia gas that is, at high frequency, given a spark and then pulsed with a powerful magnetic field such that it undergoes enough z-pinch powerful enough that with the help of the muons there's (hopefully) an appreciable amount of fusion, that project has been put on hold while i work on a few bio projects, earn money, work out the specific engineering details since i committed to this after just working out the physics, and try to work on self improvement. (not that i wouldn't love to talk about it, but just so you know i don't have a functioning fission-fragment engine and unless i suddenly gain $3580, i probably won't be able to work on it for a few months)

I've been making the transition these past few months, but I think I'm gonna just move back to Tumblr. My Twitter's follower-base has reached a point where I can't tweet anything casually opinion-related without it overflowing like a toilet. I post a short thread on my gripes with color design in anime and I'm getting QRT'd with "kill this guy with hammers" reaction gifs. Like, damn, this isn't fun anymore. It's not fun to talk about stuff on Twitter in general anymore. I wanted to post some ship dynamic doodles sometime there, but I know I'm gonna get weirdly aggressive takes and reactions. Monkey's paw curls, but I don't particularly like having that many followers.

when i see aa fans not even giving aa5 and 6 a chance it's just so. sad to me. like you can never know what your opinion on something is until you give it a try and why wouldn't you do that for a series you love? i understand that pre-AJ trilogy remaster it was more difficult to play 5/6 but that's also not the case anymore since they're now on all platforms

it's especially bizarre when it seems to be purely a fandom echo chamber perspective like.. aa5 and 6 have the same metacritic score as aa3, one of the most beloved games in the fandom. aa5 is the highest rated aa game by famitsu. i know critic scores are rarely the best indicator for a game's quality but these games don't even have mixed critic/audience ratings and yet they're treated like the worst things to ever happen to the series by large groups of fans?

and it isn't like the older games don't have parts that are heavily criticized but for some reason flaws are just. impermissible for these two games. i don't know it just sucks i wish more people would trust their own judgments instead of blindly following others... everyone has different tastes and will experience things differently!!

tl;dr can you at least hate on aa5 and 6 after playing them. PLEASE

I am renting a room for 375,5€ a month! A room with a BED and a TABLE no less so it's perfect for a temporary stay! That's like cheaper than a whole weekend in käärijä airbnb, could you imagine!? And in case you're going to see the UMK show in february, it's fairly easy to get to Tampere in a couple of hours by train.

Also, it can take about 20 mins to Vantaa, Tikkurila and about 30 mins to Helsinki center with public transport!
