2022 in review, part 5: novel first reads
my top ten favorite first reads of this year! more or less! idk it’s harder for me to rank books than other kinds of media sometimes, i feel like. i did my best.
1. wolfsong by t.j. klune (2015)
i already wrote a very long review of this so i’m not gonna rehash it here, but yeah this is a gay werewolf book with a very unique/artistic writing style and i’m pretty sure the main character is literally otherkin. (they don’t use the word “otherkin” but his experiences line up so well it’s kind of scary.) obviously i’m a fan.
2. wolf-speaker by tamora pierce (1994)
omfg i need to get back to this series i love tamora pierce’s writing style so much. i keep alternating between kicking myself that i didn’t read these as a kid & celebrating the fact that i get to read them all now. but, yeah, i need to get back to this series. and her stuff in general.
3. any way the wind blows by rainbow rowell (2021)
this is far & away the best book of the simon snow series. it’s just such a godsdamned satisfying ending.
i mean, okay, i do find it a little off-putting that i’m meant to believe that penny is heterosexual, but we can’t win ‘em all. but also we get to see her rules lawyer a fucking demon??? and be a stone cold badass in the process? so i can’t really complain about how that went.
the writing of simon & baz’s intimacy with each other was fucking sublime. it was so heartful & honest, i just ached for them.
i’m a little disappointed that this was such a definitive ending because i could’ve kept following these characters for like a dozen more books, but honestly it was such a perfect ending it’s kind of hard to argue with it.
4. birth of the firebringer by meredith ann pierce (1985)
yeah i can’t imagine what i found appealing about the unicorn book with narration from what feels like an awfully authentic animal headspace whose culture is SUPER pagan and where the main perils are 1) vore, 2) mind control, 3) literally a tornado. just truly drawing a blank here.
5. wayward son by rainbow rowell (2019)
i’m so glad the harry potter books never did an american roadtrip because holy shit it would have been insufferable. this, on the other hand, is brilliant.
everyone at ren fairs is apparently actually a witch or supernatural creature? vampires run las vegas? techbros are trying to contract vampirism for incredibly dumb reasons? yes, yes, yes. perfect.
6. star trek: discovery: dead endless by dave galanter (2019)
we gays are so powerful, you guys. i mean, the fucking butterfly effect of the awful season 1 of discovery unironically employing the bury your gays trope resulting in us ending up with this profic au where culber’s ghost finds his way onto a discovery commanded by a michael burnham who never mutineed and has family dinners with fleet captain georgiou & surrogate sibling saru, and he just immediately starts making out with au stamets who starts working on bending the laws of physics to the will of his multiverse gay love story.
sometimes profic is just fanfic with resources & a stamp of legitimacy, and when it is it’s glorious.
7. star trek: discovery: fear itself by james swallow (2018)
the discovery novels are shockingly good. like, this one is so action packed while also being such a great character study of saru. it honestly surpasses what the show was doing contemporaneously. i’d really like to see more comics or novels set on the shenzhou.
8. murder on the orient express by agatha christie (1934)
this was almost certainly hindered by the fact that i had seen so many adaptations of it by the time i read it that i felt like i had already read it, but i nevertheless enjoyed it quite a bit and am eager to read more mystery novels (and christie novels specifically.)
9. lunatic fringe by allison moon (2011)
patient worldbuilding, imperfect but well-meaning characters having mostly (mostly) good-faith conflicts over strategy, and L E S B I A N   W E R E W O L V E S. yeah, that’ll work.
10. blood and chocolate by annette curtis klause (1997)
this book’s picture is in the dictionary under “problematic fave,” but this really is delightful if you can get past all the ways in which it’s awful. and i can, clearly.

Finally finished Frozen Polar Nights and, although I enjoyed it well enough, I can’t help but feel super underwhelmed by the story in general and the entire execution of it. Like… like damn. Is this a rant? Is it a review? Idk but I’ll try to not spoil anything.
Almost at the very start of the book there’s mention of Anna and Kristoff celebrating a sixth anniversary despite us knowing they’ve only been together for 3 years, so that takes you out of the story IMMENSELY, not to mention they also mistakenly write Kristoff’s eyes as blue which makes me wonder how such details could escape two authors and however many proofreaders.
It felt like the writers were holding your hand a little too tightly through the story, not letting you put A and B together by yourself because the foreshadowing was so on the nose it may as well be a pore. They WILL remind you of everything like you’re a moron so no reveal feels like a big payoff. There’s no sense of mystery or wonder whatsoever.
The characters are fine, but suffer from very shallow exploration because the story is too busy moving them from one location to another. Forest of Shadows was fantastic at telling us a lot about the inner workings of Anna’s mind and her emotions and I feel like we could’ve gotten a lot more out of this story if a similar treatment had been offered to the characters, even more so considering the situation they were dealing with.
I feel like Disney purposely asks writers to handicap Elsa as much as possible; this is not exclusive to this book, hell, it happens on every piece of media except for the movies and shorts, where Elsa will barely use her powers or straight up forget she has them just for situations to drag on. Happens in the comics, happens in story-books, happens in these novels. Just let the woman use her powers freely even if it veers into Marysue territory! It’s frustrating as a reader to have to suppress the thoughts of “Elsa could’ve just done this and fixed this thing with her powers”.
They incorporated a deleted scene from F2 into this book, which only made me question just how MUCH of the deleted scenes could be taken as canon, then. Anna can’t ride the Nokk and the reason remains unexplained… unless they’re telling us to also take into account the deleted scenes where they explain it?
I mean, overall I enjoyed this book simply because it was content and we had been devoid of it for the longest time, but man. I liked Dangerous Secrets and Conceal, Don’t feel a lot so I was expecting something really different and with more punch. In the end it made me realize the book I disliked the most (Forest of Shadows) wasn’t actually that bad and now I’m longing to re-read it.

got tagged for two fic writer memes yesterday! the one from @ameliarating first:
How many works do you have on AO3?
509.
What’s your total AO3 word count?
3,432,24. dang! that’s a lot of words
How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
I have written for...counting the MCU as one fandom, on AO3 I have written for 32 fandoms, including at least one work in:
MCU, The Sillmarillion, Caliban Leandros, both DC and Marvel Comics, the book Barebacked by Kit Whitfield, Doctrine of Labyrinths, Doctor Who, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Star Wars, Black Jewels, Dragon Age, Lucifer, Dexter, Temeraire, Gentleman Bastard Sequence, Supernatural, A Song of Ice and Fire, Greek Mythology, Lymond Chronicles, Merlin BBC, Code Geass, Good Omens,  Death Note, and White Collar.
this is not a comprehensive list of every fandom I’ve ever written for, because it is not including ones that live only on FFN or Livejournal.
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Life In Reverse tops the list (11066), aka my 200k Loki-centric post-Thor AU fic that I wrote between 2012 and 2018 and with which I have a decidedly complex relationship at this point. I love it but also I no longer think it’s my best work but also I credit it with teaching me a fuck of a lot about writing and writing longer projects in general.
With Absolute Splendor is rapidly catching up, to my astonishment (6559), despite having been posted for less than half as long. Aka the wedding planning fic that’s really just me mucking about in my Jiang Cheng and my Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian feelings, at length.
some good mistakes (4618) was my first foray into the Untamed version of “characters who hate each other going on resentful roadtrips together, feat. Lan Wangji and Jiang Cheng.” I have gone on to write others and will continue to write more.
Unraveling (3069) is a little bit of a surprise but also not - it was originally just sort of WWP stuff for my ‘what if people remembered that blunt force trauma is a really bad thing actually’ problem that pops up sometimes, re: Loki at the end of The Avengers, and then it kind of turned into a whole thing. I personally think it’s the weakest of the installments of the series it belongs to, but it is the first one and also the one that gets least into the broader family dysfunction and depression stuff that probably is less everyone’s thing (but is what came out this fic that mattered more to me, personally).
I am a little surprised to see Steve Rogers’ Halfway House for Notorious Supervillains (3068) here too! I was expecting one of the more...idk, mainstream concepts from the MCU to win out? But I also wasn’t expecting two Untamed fics to make it here, either. But I am stupid proud of this fic even if it is very extraordinarily unfinished. This is one of those unfinished fics that will nag at me unless and until I finish it, at least a little, because the concept - if I do say so myself - is so goddamn good and I think I was executing it pretty well, too.
Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
Pretty much never. I was never very good at it and now I’d feel like I had to go back and reply to all of them and I just. I can’t do that. and when I do try to just start at the beginning I get overwhelmed very fast and start avoiding it.
Basically I decided that if it’s a decision between wrestling with myself to reply to comments versus actually doing more writing I’m going to end up landing on the latter as feeling both more doable and more productive.
What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
probably it’s The Worlds Forgotten, the Words Forbidden for sheer level of “so then what was the point” of it all. but like. I’ve definitely written a few extraordinarily miserable fics, and by “a few” I kind of mean “a lot.” Other nominees I’d put down might be nor autumn falter (for currently personally making me suffer most), once there was a way to get back home (for I think having the ouchiest summary), and Waiting for the Summer Rain (which remains one of my personal favorite Supernatural fics I wrote).
but like. there are 43 fics I have marked with Major Character Death warnings and every single one of those, pretty much, has a downer ending.
Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written?
I have written several though not in a long time! My craziest probably remains the Morgoth/Cthulhu short I wrote that actually got sporked because someone took it seriously (???) enough to do that. But the craziest that actually has any merit, (I’d argue) is probably the Maeglin/Viserys one.
not linking to either, if you want to go find them I don’t think it’ll be that hard.
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Yeah, a few times on a few different things. More if you count “people who seem to like the fic but love telling you how much they hate the female characters you’re writing about in it” as ‘hate’ which I would but isn’t, you know, quite as straightforward. If I had a nickel for every time someone bitched about Jane in Life in Reverse, though...lots of nickels.
Do you write smut? if so what kind?
Sure do! But what does ‘what kind’ mean, I don’t know how to answer that question. I feel tempted to just put in my “Mike’s Hard Kinks” image edit in this space.
I guess usually I tend to write smut that at least involves a little bit of a kink? I don’t think I’d feel comfortable writing entirely kinkless smut. I think I’d feel weird about it, the same way I do when I write really nice fic, generally.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I think I did back when but I don’t remember anything about it. I feel like it was one of those mass data scraping things where my fic happened to be among those caught up in it.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
I have! several actually, mostly into Russian and Chinese. every time it happens I’m immensely flattered that someone wants to put in that kind of work on something I wrote.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I think I’d be very, very bad at it.
What’s your all time favorite ship?
Depends on when you ask me! I could probably give you a top five but then I’d remember six that I forgot to mention five minutes later. I guess if I were to think about ships that feel like they hold very special particular places in my heart... Xue Yang/Xiao Xingchen, Steve Rogers/Loki, and Min/Rand come to mind.
What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
oh god do you want the whole list cause honestly I could just like. screencap the entirety of my “in progress” folder with a crying emoji watermarked over it. and that’s not getting into the fics that are like...half formed babies in my consciousness but not anywhere on paper.
and also I just hate to admit that I might not finish something.
you know what? the Lucifer/Good Omens crossover I started would’ve been a lot of fun. I’m probably never going to finish it, but it would’ve been great if I had. I know other people did it too but my contribution could’ve been amazing.
I can say this very boldly with the near certainty that I’m not going to finish the fic so no one will be able to disagree.
(...also the Last Herald-Mage fix it. that was going to be a good fic too, and also will probably languish unfinished forever.)
What are your writing strengths?
I’m pretty sure dialogue is my strongest point. Dialogue and emotions, which is why I always end up just wanting to write about characters talking and having feelings at each other.
What are your writing weaknesses?
Writing action sequences throws me into conniptions every time I have to do it and I will take drastic actions sometimes to avoid doing it at all, which probably weakens the work as a whole.
Also, I don’t plan ahead and this means I write myself into corners kind of a lot. If I wasn’t writing long, dense fic it wouldn’t be a problem but here we are.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I tend to avoid it unless it’s in the context of, as in CQL/MDZS fic, leaving certain terminology untranslated. I’m pretty sure I almost never write full exchanges of dialogue in a different language than I’m using for the narration within a fic, and generally speaking my reaction to other people doing it is at least mildly negative.
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter was technically the first fandom I wrote for, but it was a crack fic I wrote to make my friends laugh more than anything; I tend to count Wheel of Time as my first actual fandom for which I wrote my first actual fic.
What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
some days the answer is “all of them” and some day the answer is “I don’t like anything I’ve written in my entire life” and I never like giving this a definitive answer. yesterday I reread efforts in a common cause (the bound copy!! thanks @spockandawe) and you know what, that was a good fic and I’m proud of it, so I’m going with that one, for this meme, today.

@improvidus thanks for the tag boo <3
1) How many works do you have on AO3? 14
2) What’s your total AO3 word count? 106,078
3) How many fandoms have you written for and what are they? I’ve only finished + published MacGyver fics, but I have a whole folder of other unfinished stuff, primarily for Sarah J Maas’ three book series (Throne of Glass, ACOTAR, Crescent City).
4) What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Riley + Sunglasses + Undercover (aka my claim to fame lol)
Quarantine Moments
Looking Through A Window
I + Can’t + Lose + You
Fridge Meeting
5) What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending? Out of my published ones...R+S+U (unbelievable that I didn’t get cancelled for ending it the way I did lmao). But in a million years when I finally finish it, Broken Like Me won’t exactly have a happy ending (it’ll be bittersweet at best...I know because I wrote the ending first).
6) What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending? I+C+L+U has a good ending, so do all of the holiday fics I wrote last year. But I think the most satisfying happy ending will be the ending to Flawless (I already wrote this ending too).
7) Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you’ve written? I don’t do crossovers! Honestly I don’t read them either. I think they’re off-putting and usually fairly OOC, but if the characters all exist in the same universe (or it’s just written really damn well) then a crossover is more palatable for me.
8) Do you write smut? If so what kind? Hell fucking yeah I do. The emotionally charged, very plot-relevant, little-to-no cringey vocabulary kind. But not much for this fandom because the audience for it is very small. But for the fantasy romance book fandoms I (mostly) lurk in??? Definitely.
9) Do you respond to comments, why or why not? I always try to! Except sometimes y’all make predictions that are a little too accurate and I have to avoid responding to those comments so I don’t accidentally spoil something (yikes).
10) Have you ever received hate on a fic? Nope (thank god). Which is a good thing, because I’m not actually as nice as y’all think I am, and I’d throw (virtual) hands.
11) Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I know of! On the flip side, I’ve definitely accidentally stolen lines/phrases from people. Every once in a while I’ll reread a fic and go “THAT’S WHERE I GOT THAT FROM!!!!! whoops.”
12) Have you ever had a fic translated? Does asking people to translate like 3 lines of dialogue for Flawless into French count lol? (real answer: no)
13) Have you ever co-written a fic before? Listen. I swear to you that this pirate AU exists. We have a whole chapter written. I have a good 50% or so of the plot outlined in my head and in our shared google doc. However none of us have worked on it in months so......
14) What’s your all time favorite ship? Not to out myself as the kid who was obsessed with Percy Jackson but....PERCABETH. They really invented love. Second place is Rowaelin (from the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas), and third place is MacRiley (no shade to my Team Spy Siblings friends though....tbh if the show hadn’t set them up romantically I never would’ve even considered it).
15) What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will? That aliens fic I’ve teased for a solid year. The goal was to see if I could write an episode of the show (which I totally think I could), but I just don’t have a plot for this one. Only the resolution and some comic relief. But the basic premise is that Mac, Riley, and maybe Bozer (aka our resident nerds) get sent to examine a UFO that crash-landed in the middle of fucking nowhere, which of course sends everyone down the rabbit hole of alien theories, but the UFO ends up being something.....significantly less cool. If any of you gen writers want in on this, hit me up and we can co-write it.
16) What are your writing strengths? DIALOGUE. FORESHADOWING. also filling in the nuances of a plot once I have the bare bones in place.
17) What are your writing weaknesses? Brainstorming said bare bones of a plot lmao. And describing settings is the bane of my existence.
18) What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic? Super dope as long as a) the reader can understand what’s happening via context clues or brief translation in the main language (presumably English) b) it’s used to develop the plot/character(s) in some way, i.e. a spy’s helpful skill or part of someone’s cultural background.
19) What was the first fandom you wrote for? MacGyver is the first (and only) fandom I’ve finished and published fics for. Everything else (many of which I started pre-Mac) isn’t developed enough to necessarily count.
20) What’s your favorite fic you’ve written? FLAWLESS. But I will say that I’m far more attached to LTAW than I ever could’ve expected going into it. So.....both?
Tagging: goddammit idk I wasn’t paying attention to who already got tagged. so if you’re reading this and you write fic consider yourself tagged. <3

Daredevil scenes / plot points you would have done differently? (I get a suspicion a lot of them have to do with the law stuff, Frank Castle's trial especially. 😉 )
Aaaaa I love this question! Warning: VERY long response:
DEFINITELY the Frank Castle trial. Man, it could’ve been SO GOOD. I have a lot of issues with it, obviously, but the main one is that Matt treating Frank as a hostile witness could’ve been amazing (character-driven, emotionally-charged, also at times hilarious), and we were ROBBED.
I also wish Matt could’ve been involved in more trial prep. The show makes it seem almost like Matt’s skill is limited to courtroom antics, but charisma and the ability to think on your feet in the courtroom mean next to nothing if you haven’t laid a foundation with good legal research and legal writing. I would’ve loved it if the legal plotlines showed us more of that. Like, you know Matt and Karen’s date night in S2 where she helps him come up with witness questions? I would’ve loved it if: a) they’d gotten, like, ANY part of that scene correct from a legal standpoint, and b) if we could’ve gotten MORE. I know that kind of thing might seem boring, but I don’t think it would be. You can really show off characters’ personalities in that kind of environment, and then the audience gets the reward of seeing that hard work pay off at trial.
Speaking of, I know we’ve talked before about S3 splitting everyone up. I still think that could’ve maybe been worth it if we’d gotten a S4 where we could see how everyone learned from how disastrous the S3 isolation was, but without S4, everyone’s isolation in S3 is really unfortunate. I would’ve loved to see Nelson, Murdock, and Page working together for at least half of the season, instead of just the last 3-ish episodes. It would’ve been fascinating to watch, since Matt would still not be in a great headspace, and Karen would still be hurt, and Foggy would be just Trying To Deal with his idiot best friends. (But since we don’t have that, at least we have my S3 canon-divergent retelling thing: Take A Deep Breath – shameless plug.)
I also would’ve generally kept the stakes lower in S2 and S3. I think you agree with me that both seasons would’ve been more powerful if we’d had more lower-level villains. But one of my favorite things about S1 is that we get to know the people who are at stake. Unlike in the Avengers where it’s just “the world” or “New York” or something, S1 showed us a little boy who wanted to go back to his dad, and Elena, and that one juror who was being exploited, and Melvin, and even a bad guy like Vladimir, and they’re ALL sympathetic. We really understand who Matt’s fighting for, but with the exception of Grotto, Jasper Evans, and Julie Barnes, I don’t feel like we really get that in S2 and S3.
Related: our S2 ninjas needed a clearer motivation. (That goes for Defenders, too.) Imo, they needed personal stakes. Fisk’s mission to clean up Hell’s Kitchen was personal. Frank’s mission to take out bad guys was personal. Everything about Elektra was personal. Dex’s desperate attempt to find a place for himself and find people who care about him was VERY personal. But the Hand? Not personal at all.
With Elektra…I’m torn. Part of me really wishes Matt could’ve told her no and maintained his boundaries all along, because a) I hate love-triangle-type drama and drama that could be resolved if people just stopped keeping secrets, and b) it would’ve been so refreshing to see the femme fatal trope subverted, and c) it would’ve given Elektra more agency. That being said…that might be veering too far away from comics canon. Matt is canonically a disaster with relationships, and he and Elektra have this whole…epic…magnetic…thing. I personally would argue that the show isn’t beholden to the canon in this specific way, but I can see how people would be upset if Matt and Elektra hadn’t turned out the way they did in S2.
I would’ve liked Marci to have a smidge more character development. She was so sweet and supportive in S3and I don’t…quite…know where that came from? Oh, well.
Speaking of character development: I wish Matt and Foggy could’ve had some real conversations. Aside from when Foggy found Matt at the gym in S1 and they talked about moving forward, I don’t feel like they had deep conversations that weren’t arguments. Matt’s S3 apology is good, but I would’ve loved to see Foggy apologize for how he contributed to the problems in their friendship. I also wish we could’ve seen Foggy explicitly thank Matt for, y’know…SAVING HIS LIFE.
As for Karen, I wish her revelation scene to Matt had been more about HER. It says a lot about how selfless she is that she used her own pain to try to convince Matt not to kill Fisk. But even though I know Matt’s super depressed and everything, I would’ve loved to see him put his own angsty issues aside for a sec and just be there for his friend and the woman he loves. Even the fact that she is the one who crosses the room to be close to him is telling; he should’ve gone over to her when she started crying and been there for her.
Although if I’m talking about Matt’s romantic relationships, I wouldn’t have minded if the show went a Clairedevil route. Although that would require A LOT. I do wish, if I’m being really fanciful, that we could’ve seen Claire in S3. Or, at minimum, seen Matt and Claire interact in Defenders.
FATHER LANTOM TELLING MATT THAT GUILT IS A SIGN THAT HIS WORK IS NOT DONE. I cannot with that scene. I love Father Lantom, but that? Really? I mean, I get it. That’s a common way that Catholic doctrine is interpreted, and it’s what Matt basically wants to hear anyway, but it is SUCH a dangerous thing to tell Matt (and I feel like Father Lantom should’ve known that???) and it’s also, as I understand it, not even the technically correct Catholic interpretation of guilt. Like, that’s literally not what guilt is or how it’s supposed to work. (Although who knows. I’m not Catholic, and as I understand it, Catholics themselves vary a lot in their interpretations of doctrine. So idk.) If I were writing that scene, I would definitely not have written Father Lantom to say that.
On the religious theme, I wish S3 had circled back to Matt’s original objections related to the book of Job. He gets quite a few things wrong in his recap, and I’m not sure if Maggie didn’t correct him because she didn’t know better, or because she didn’t think a Biblical literacy lecture was what he needed at the moment, OR because the writers couldn’t be bothered to read the book. (In fairness…it’s a long and complicated book. But they couldn’t have been bothered to read a commentary on it?) I wish S3 had not stopped at giving Matt an abstract tapestry analogy to heal his faith when it also should’ve addressed his specific complaints.
I wish we’d had more time to see Matt and Maggie repair their relationship, or start to. And I wish she’d hugged him at Literally Any Point.
I wish the whole Matt-hallucinating thing had been clearer. Was he actually hallucinating? Or was that just his internal monologue manifested through other characters? If he was hallucinating, did he just...stop? Is he not freaked out about that? What was going on????
Oh, and if only they could’ve gotten Dex’s psychological diagnosis right.
Other than that, there are a couple scenes that I feel like drag on way too long (S3 especially has an odd amount of monologues that generally strike me as OOC anyway—except with Fisk; he’s just Like That) but I don’t want to go into all of them. It would be hypocritical, given how long this reply is. :P
So yeah, I think I’ll stop there, although I’m sure there’s more, haha. Thank you again for the ask and the excuse to ramble about Daredevil! I look forward to your thoughts as well.

not gonna lie, i am currently writing this at work using the very weak hospital wifi (although i’m gonna queue this for later). like my 2019 post, i wasn’t planning on writing anything, but i’ve met so many amazing people here that have made 2020 more tolerable and i think they deserve a mention. i’m not even going to bother talking about 2020 because we all know what a disaster it’s been, but thank u to all the amazing people under the cut for existing and making things better akjshdjkahd

awwww landon youre such a dork i hope you're actually you rn
hope just apologize to cleo--she'll probaly forgive you...i think

look at MG inviting ethan to sit with him and josie
.............guys help
its just one scene
its just one scene
thank god lizzie's still pissed at hope, now we just need hope to apologize or do some reconciliation thing
"as your new bestie" awwwwww i really like lizzie/kaleb friendship
OMFG "no tribrids allowed"
hope...you need to realize that landon isn't the only important thing for you
okay i like that landon is trying to help hope deal with everything...im not sure his approach is the best but she does seem to listen to him
monster be like hai
why is landon all of us hahaha
.......its cute.....im scared
dfgdafjgkgjs
"screw you" hahahaha
why does the monster sound like chirithy from kingdom hearts plz help
man i do feel for lizzie :/
i really shouldn't be surprised but i wish alaric would show more...i guess...frustration(???) at the danger hope put josie through last episode instead of just acknowledging it
but it's alaric
i dont expect much from him
LANDON THANK YOU
holy hell thank you for suggesting she apologize

honestly? i'm not really feelin kaleb/cleo as a romantic pairing? maybe i'm too curious about hope/cleo but i dont have an issue with kaleb/cleo
i'm very curious about cleo's backstory...will we get to see it after we save cleo from the gremlin?
"is vervain your kryptonite?" MG....Ethan...i....i can see it...so much....
he's so curious and excited ahaha this is precious
SUPERHERO NERD ETHAN X MG THIS IS ALL I EVER WANTED FOR MG
LOOK AT THEM
THEY HAVE A SECRET
A SECRET BOND OVER COMIC BOOKS
ITS A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN
HELP
oh god burn it kill it im too tired for that thing ew
is that damon's car
"gremzilla" jfc hahaha
look at my bbies this is what i wanted for MG
mizzie who??? bitch we got METHAN
this. is. so. precious.
i think i found my new favorite legacies ship
mg nooooooo don't compel him
you need someone like him
" dont leave the part where we met today"
i think you mean 'boyfriends' ethan
okay.........i'm not sure how i feel about a monster being the catalyst for hope apologizing instead of her coming to it on her own
i mean i'm glad theyre talking this out
but...if there wasn't a monster who's weakness is genuine respect this conversation wouldn't be happening
maybe it's better than nothing
but idk i feel like Hope, and Lizzie both, could've grown a lot more as characters if Hope 100% initiated the heart to heart purely because she realized what she needed to do (hell i'm down with Landon talking her through it like earlier)
poor Hope...i really wish she gets a chance to actually work through some of her fear
awwwwwwwwww landon "i can't be everything to you"
thank you landon for telling her what she needs to hear
i'm back on board with handon
i missed handon ( i really liked them in season 1)
oh my god is that
is that elena's house
adjfahlfdjasdf
awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
and the fact josie played elena in the musical
and theyre here
afadfhakdfs
ok i really don't care about alaric's character anymore but i really do like his heart to heart convo with josie
i do like the damon and elena references, my nostaglic heart
"MG's my guy" awwww kaleb
mg and ethan are playing football togetherrrrrrrr
awww kaleb :/
awwww lizzie im sure josie will come back when shes ready *hizzie hug awww*
landon, hope, and lizzie watching a movie together..........i like this :D
oh wtf is that
dorian!!!
rasputin......... IN THE DARK OF THE NIGHT TERROR WILL FIND HERRRRRRRR.........no...no one...just me with the anastasia reference? okay i'll see myself out
--
So that episode was probably one of my all time favorites. I just...really enjoyed the character interactions and the monster was entertaining enough it didn’t detract from the episode.
Also...MGxEthan did not disappoint. I love them together. Half my commentary was me gushing over them. I...I found my new favorite Legacies pairing.... Yes I may have embellished in the Twilight thing don’t @ me ahahaha.

Before I get to writing about the actual Bad Batch premiere, time to write another weird ranty post. This time... about overwriting canon. If you know what I mean, click the readmore to see what I have to say. If you don’t... well, don’t click, duh.
Yes, I’m talking about Caleb Dume’s inclusion.
Is canon something we hold too sacred? Yes. Am I still going to ask why they change things and wonder if it’s justified or not? Also yes.
I’m not super attached to the Kanan comic like some people are, but even as the episode played, I still took issue with the decisions they made? The reason ended up being surprisingly simple: I just preferred the story that was told in the comic than what we got on screen.
I definitely get why Filoni and co decided to feature this moment. Having a major character from one of your other shows get one of the most formative moments of his life portrayed is an opportunity too tempting to pass up. Honestly, when they made that Caleb model for the Siege of Mandalore opening, they were probably already thinking to themselves they should use it for something else.
As a scene in general, I do like what we got. I do like that we got to see Depa and Caleb together, and that we then saw everything go down, and how Caleb was already panicking and reacting to any clone with intense fear. Only real issues I have are that Freddie Prinze Jr (as great as it is to hear him again), as much as he tries to pitch up his voice clearly isn’t a 12 year old so it’s kinda distracting and even unintentionally hilarious (does anyone else think he even sounds a bit like Ezra at points?). That and, uh, the fact that Caleb’s design is whitewashed for some reason, but I talked about that before. The reason I’m not too into the scene and prefer the comic version though? Well, to put it simply, this isn’t Caleb’s story here.
Kanan: The Last Padawan is a story about Kanan Jarrus, back when he was still Caleb Dume. It’s focused on him and his relationship with Depa Billaba, what he’s like as a padawan, how he got along with clones like Grey and Styles, and of course how all of that comes together to impact him during Order 66. It’s a story about him.
Aftermath on the other hand isn’t a story about Caleb. It’s a story about the Bad Batch. This could’ve been any Jedi padawan escaping, any master that could’ve died, and it would’ve been the same story because it’s about how the Bad Batch react to Order 66 and what decisions they choose to make. They just chose to feature Caleb escaping Order 66 because they wanted to show that scene for Rebels fans. As a result, I was more focused on Hunter and Crosshair’s feelings and motives than what Caleb was going through.
Like, it’s not that it’s wrong to not feature Caleb here (...whitewashing aside, yeah sorry I’m gonna be salty for a while), it’s just that the more personal and impactful version of the story is I feel the comic for the reasons I stated, and now the more “official” version of the story is the one that’s less focused and personal for Caleb.
Oh yeah, there’s another thing that bothers me, but I find it more hilarious than anything: so much is changed from the comic, like yes putting the scene in new context is one thing, but changing things that wouldn’t even impact the story is another. Allow me to explain:
Captain Grey? He’s a commander in the comic, and there’s no Styles. I guess this was to be more efficient but you couldn’t be bothered to paint one more clone in some re... wait, green?
Yes, Grey’s armour is green, but in the comic it’s red. I’ve seen people suggest that it could be to avoid confusion with the shock troopers or even the Bad Batch themselves, but like... is it really that hard to discern? The red is a different shade and pattern. The shock troopers have WAY more red. Eh, what do I know.
On the topic of colours... why is Depa’s lightsabre now blue? It was not only green in the comics, but in freaking live action too (well, at least for promotional photos, IDK if they count as full canon). Let me guess, it’s something like Grey’s armour now being green means we can’t tell the difference now. Is there something I’m missing here? Something as small as a lightsabre colour feels like it’s changed for the sake of it.
Kaller is completely different: much snowier, and we see everything happen at daytime.
Like, stuff like this I just don’t get? Why make such insignificant changes when they don’t really impact the story? Did Kanan talk about how snowy it was when he watched his master die or something? :v I am aware this stuff that doesn’t matter, but that’s EXACTLY why I’m confused as to why they’re changing this stuff.
I think a lot of my confusion at this also comes from the fact that Lucasfilm promised when they rebooted canon under Disney, they would make a more unified and cohesive one to follow, one where everything would feel connected and that any errors would just be that, small mistakes that can be corrected or overlooked. But like, Filoni is clearly doing his own thing. The Siege of Mandalore is different to the Ahsoka novel (and implies some retcons to Son of Dathomir for that matter, an actual TCW story adapted lol). There’s differences with Cobb Vanth in The Mandalorian to his story in the Aftermath books.
The reason I wasn’t as concerned there was because well for one, Cobb Vanth’s written material is something I haven’t read, so I can’t really compare. But for the stuff in the final Clone Wars season, it’s either small things, but even for bigger stuff like how events play out it’s because they told a better story, I felt. That, and all the changes I felt made sense or were at least justified (for example, Ahsoka now having blue lightsabres adds character to her and Anakin). I also felt I was able to reconcile what didn’t fit through unreliable narrators - something I’ve seen suggested for the Kanan comics because those ARE his flashbacks, but again, the issue I have with Kanan is I prefer the story in those comics to here. If it is how they justify things then fair enough, but that’s still gonna make me wonder about things.
Something I also find kinda weird was that the comic was written by Greg Weisman, who was a writer on the first season of Rebels, and for that matter the story editor (a position that in some cases is equivalent to head writer, even if I don’t know if that’s the case here) on said season. So not just some random comic writer, one of the main writers who helped get the show off the ground wrote it. I just feel like it’s really weird that you’d have one of your main writers write this origin story, only to then go and overwrite it yourself like it never existed? IDK what Greg Weisman feels on the subject, but it’s an odd situation. It’s basically taking your co-worker’s work and going “okay but we’re gonna do it MY way instead just to serve my new story because I’m in charge even though you worked with me and you have insights and discussions with me that make your contributions not that of just any writer”).
So yeah, even if canon is something we fixate too much on in fandom, I don’t blame people for sometimes feeling like they’re told the stories they like matter less, especially when you’re being told things are SUPPOSED to be more connected now. Even not being strongly attached to this story as much as others, I feel like making this version more prominent can’t help but bum me out because I feel the story in the comic was more in-depth and impactful.

1, 17, 18 for the book asks! hope you're doing well! :)
1. is there a book you think everyone should read? hmm idk, i really think you should only read what you want to read, but a v important book i’ve read is the boy in the striped pyjamas by j. boyne, it changed my views quite a bit (i was 12 at the time)
17. pick a book for each of the four seasons. why did you chose these books? SPRING: cemetery boys by a. thomas (bc it’s fresh, it’s fun, and it also has some rebirth undertones ;)) SUMMER: the six of crows duology by l. bardugo (the perfect summer read - it takes u to this incredibly well-built world with awesome characters and plot and just do urself a favor and add it to you summer reading list if you’ve not read it yet x) FALL: arguably, i could’ve put cemetery boys here, as it does take place in fall; however, i have to plug my current read here - gideon the ninth by t. muir has the perf somber atmosphere, with the whole fantastical necromantic and sword-yielding and witchy powers thing going for it, perf for october! WINTER: red, white & royal blue by c. mcquiston bc cold out means i need an extra cozy read and the feels i get from this book? the spectacular vibes? the timeline we deserved? yes please.
18. what is your favourite book with a non-western setting? persepolis by m. satrapi! i don’t think i’ve read all the comics in the series, but i read the graphical novel, the story revolves around the islamic revolution in iran and how it affected a child and later on young woman, what growing up was like and in the second part, she contrasts that with her experience arriving to and living in austira... she recounts what returning to Tehran after 4 years was like, the way she saw everything a lot differently after spending some of her most formative years in central europe and yeah, it’s definitely a very educational, high quality read! (there’s also an animated movie!!)
bookish asks! :)

okay episode six of tfatws
just my thoughts throughout :)
Tumblr media
sam <3 sam <3
sam you caring, empathetic, intelligent, handsome mf
also. the show just laid out a whole entire episode, blatantly showing us how fucking perfect sam wilson is for captain america... so stop saying it should be bucky or that it should be any other white man
it is lost on me how some people would still think that way after this
now back to the program... SAM <3
a hero if I’ve ever seen one
things he did here: encouraged a woc to step up and save the helicopter; saved the pilot from getting killed by the other crashing helicopter—and saved anyone else near them from being harmed because physics will tell you it wouldn’t only be the pilot who got hurt by the impact; came to the rescue at the very last minute and saved the truck from falling; chose to not fight karli—like at all; brought her to the medics after she died; and he unapologetically stood up to the politicians about what exactly they’ve been doing wrong
and i really wanna highlight how that scene was written to take place in front of the public and be broadcasted in the news
like I’m glad it happened that way because it gave sam the opportunity to make his introduction as the new captain america to be someone who stands for and with the marginalized communities
I think doing it that way will definitely negate the possible distrust a lot of people would have had if he was introduced (to the public) as a hero who worked for the government or even if he was just merely introduced by the government
like it really emphasizes how in the public eye, sam as captain america will be seen as someone who is more than the typical heroic figures they’ve seen before
and idk maybe I’m jumping to conclusions but I think this’ll *maybe* be important to how civilians will see the avengers in the future? maybe? idk? but yeah
anyway his fit!!! the wings and the shield!!! idk much about storytelling through fight choreography but this man used the shield and the wings very well
Tumblr media
redwing’s back 🥺
sam getting isaiah the recognition he deserves !!!!!!
im really looking forward to seeing how they’re going to introduce eli bradley as a hero in the mcu (I don’t read the comics so idk what happens)
we got like 0.5 seconds torres but I’m excited to see how marvel introduces him as the new falcon as well
zemo’s butler is his hitman wow, the job must pay well. and look at that old mf go
sharon :) now that’s a villain origin story. you guys better say sorry to her before she comes and kills you as the powerbroker—cue criminal by britney spears “but mama I’m in love with a criminal”
so remember episode 3? if zemo hadn’t killed nagel, then he would’ve definitely recognized sharon right? so what was home girl thinking when she strolled into nagel’s lab, trying to get the trio to leave... like surely he would’ve called her out to be the powerbroker then and there right?
I’m excited to see where she appears next cause theres a lot of explaining to do ms sharon carter
okay i wasn’t even gonna talk about john walker because—yikes. but here it is anyway. i didnt like that they made him out to still have morals because he chose to save the van instead of continuing his pursuit on the flag smashers. I mean yeah it’s great that he attempted at saving them because people change(?) or whatever but he’s still sus because he’s working with valentina—whose intentions are still ambiguous... point is, while I think that it’s a great way to make his character more complicated and have more layers in the situation where they decide to bring him further into the mcu, imo it’ll worsen the john walker empathizers because they have something “good” to say about him
okay back to sharon, so it’s unclear to me whether she was pardoned because sam helped her or because of the fact that she killed karli. if it’s actually the latter then,,, that itches me. like it only shows that the senator didn’t listen to sam and only continued to antagonize karli to the point where he pardoned her killer, instead of trying to understand where she was coming from when sam confronted him about it
is karli really dead? I know she got shot but where? and if it’s just in the stomach, she should been fine right because she’s a super soldier? Idk but ig the storyline is over... unless
anyway, bucky when he got thanked for saving them from the truck on fire :’(
bucky with kids
i overlooked this in the last episode because it happened there as well, but bucky letting his metal arm be exposed in sam’s hometown is just :’)... like tell me you feel at home without telling me you feel at home :(
bucky finally giving yori closure on his sons death
also, I know it’s just a bodily reaction or whatever, but the way that bucky’s eyes dilated when he watched sam confront the politicians
(28:52)
Tumblr media
(29:59)
Tumblr media
it’s very minimal, but it’s there
okay I don’t know if this happened in an earlier scene, but at 09:46 the when subtitles said “[captain america grunts]” I was like HELL YEAH CAPTAIN AMERICA DID GRUNT!! YES HE DID INDEED GRUNT 👏👏👏
sam taking pictures with people from his hometown because he’s now officially a hero they can rely on 😭
:’) captain america <3
at the end credits when it said “captain america and the winter soldier” I just <3
also, i’ve seen some fans be disappointed that it didn’t say captain america and the white wolf and tbh I’m glad it did not say that
while i do love bucky as well and appreciate that his character was supposed to put the winter soldier behind him because it’s not who he is anymore and just make amends with the people that he hurt,
i think it would’ve been too premature to have him be introduced as the white wolf, especially since he only finished crossing out the names just this episode—and I think it would’ve been too random like I don’t see how the writers could’ve slipped that in, in an episode as packed as this one was to have a significant impact on the audience and the character
and not to mention, I definitely think that him being introduced as the white wolf in tandem to sam being introduced as captain america, would’ve taken away from sam’s moment.
like it’s not news that most of the fans who loveee bucky will literally fall on their knees and worship to extremes every little thing that happens to him. and like I understand that, i get it, but his fans would have—for sure—taken the moment away from our boy sam wilson, the ✨captain america✨
I think bucky’s official introduction as the white wolf warrants another story to be told
so it’s valid to be upset by that, I’m not hating on any bucky stans or anything. I simply disagree and hope that you guys don’t complain about it too much to the point where it takes away from sam lol
and honestly, it’ll come eventually anyway so yeah
the ending where sam and bucky just look off into the sunset made me cackle idk why but it’s great they finally get to have a serene moment together
I’m so proud of anthony!!! I can’t wait to see how sam/captain america continues on in the mcu
anyway, give it up for captain america and the winter soldier 👏
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and I have the sudden urge to go sight seeing
so brb I’m gonna book a flight to paris and see the eiffel tower

Episode 8 Review
The usual spoilers
Alright, this episode was pretty good in the beginning with some stuff here and there I didn’t like, but that ending... that ending leaves a sour taste in your mouth.
Normally I start with the bad first, then the good, but I feel I should do chronological order for this one since most of the good is before the bad.
For starters, I enjoyed the very beginning with Chris at his dad’s funeral. For once, seeing an aspect of Vic’s childhood was interesting. You feel pretty bad for Chris because of the rough childhood he had, and you feel bad because he became his father. It’s good that he’s definitely changed tho. He pissed me off (and I’m sure everyone else off) last season, and to see him get emotional all those years before is definitely something. Seeing him grow now is rewarding.
I do really like how both of Vic’s parents see her bridge and are amazed by it. Idk why, but I always find it incredibly satisfying in a story when all the characters understand something/everything. I’m sure we all do, but clarification in a story has always brought me a satisfaction comparable to that of watching those satisfying video complications on YouTube.
How Bing is alive still... I have no idea. Maybe because he was sitting and that helped slow down the blood flow? Honestly, I really wanted them to get information out of him, then have him die. Look, there is a part of me that feels bad for him and sorry for him, but his actions are way less forgivable than Charlie’s. If you ask me, despite him talking with Vic (and hell, maybe at this point he does feel bad for what he did, although that is hard to believe because he did genuinely enjoy raping people, and rape is one of those actions it’s very hard to find really any redemption in once you commit it), I don’t see anyone forgiving his ass, and they shouldn’t. I also think Bing has always been a ticking time bomb. Who knows, if Charlie hadn’t come into their lives, he could’ve hurt Vic if she came off as “too nice” to him. We see what he did to his mom, despite her loving him and being the only good person in his life. He interprets love as something darker, and while it’s horrible that he thinks that way, and I understand what his childhood did to his mind, he has the knowledge that it’s wrong to do it (I mean, he has to subdue people with the gas, and he clearly sees his victims are unwilling) and he should stop it, yet he doesn’t. Charlie actually believes that what he’s doing is right, and there is a part of you that can see that in some regards, he is right, keeping kids away from harmful parents. What good comes out of rape? The only good that comes out of it is the benefit to himself for getting his sick pleasures. He does it all because he can and likes it, no other purpose. He could’ve gotten help, he could’ve tried to keep that all in and express it in a safe environment, he could’ve restrained himself from doing these things... yet he didn’t. If he had just killed the parents and strictly did nothing of a particularly cruel nature, you could understand Bing more and respect his character. But since he didn’t... it makes things harder. Is it respectable that he admitted he’s wrong? Yes. Should he be forgiven? Well... not really, at least imo. If Bing has any redeeming qualities, there are very few. Since he is kept alive, I hope he’s either rotting in prison or kept in a place where he can maybe get help that he needs. I think most importantly, I’m more than a little annoyed at this whole, “Yeah, we’ll write the rapist more sympathetically before we do the main antagonist, who’s actions are questionable and one could understand his intent. He doesn’t rape anybody and finds the act repulsive and kills rapists... but he’s less sympathetic just because he’s the main bad guy 😀.” Yeah, okay writers...
Moving on from the only truly bad thing in the episode before the ending, everything else seemed to be fine. I’m concerned with Maggie and Tabitha’s relationship, I really hope they’ll be okay. Tabitha was badass getting the respect and recognition she deserves for the work she does. Even though she made the stupid decision of going into that church by herself and possibly getting killed, I do love the balls she has, I just hope she doesn’t get herself killed by being stupid. Her and Maggie are a great couple and I love them. I feel bad for Vic and I hate that she feels so low about herself. I did like her talking with her dad. The confrontation with Millie was interesting, and I’m curious to see what’s in store with that. Based on the “next time” preview at the end of the episode, we finally make it to Christmasland, and I’m very interested (but also a little anxious) about what’s gonna happen next.
Now, the ending... this damn ending...
First of all, when Maggie was confronting Wayne, why didn’t she grab his ornament? Maggie is not a stupid character. Did she get hit by the car last season and not make smarter decisions on how to avoid it (ex, maybe getting in between two other cars)? Sure, but we’ll cut her slack, it was a very in the moment thing. This? I mean... they were anticipating this. You mean to tell me she couldn’t have thought of trying to get that ornament out of his hand and taking it away from him? She tricked the Hourglass for Christ’s sakes. It looks like from the preview she’s collecting their ornaments, but still, especially in that moment, she would’ve grabbed his. It might’ve made Wayne have a strength over his old self... what’s weird is in the book, he’s holding onto both sides of himself throughout his entire journey, in this they’re making it seem as though he has no control anymore. Which leads me to my next point...
Where is Craig in all of this? What, so his efforts didn’t do dick? What was the point in having him the last two episodes? I believe in the book, Wayne’s grandma (aka Linda McQueen), is helping him in a spirit form, and also by him “thinking backwards.” Craig was helping him by reminding him of Vic and staying by him. It would’ve made so much more sense for Craig to be by his side still (or hell, in the car if he can’t leave it and telling Wayne to “remember the plan”), Wayne “puts” the ornament on the tree (or Maggie takes it off after he puts it on), and Craig stays by him. Nope, let’s make his character useless. Who knows if he’ll return next episode, I’m hoping he will, but even if he does, it’s still annoying that his character has done little to nothing at this point when there was so much potential, and it seems to be almost too late. I’m glad Wayne didn’t eat Maggie or Lou like I feared (Lou did get a nip I suppose, which was a little unneeded if you ask me). I was hoping for more potential from Craig, guess we’ll have to see if there will be...
Another point: WHY THE HELL IS THIS CAR TOO OVERPOWERED? Seriously, it makes no sense. You can make Charlie’s abilities as op as you want so long as it’s not ridiculous, I could see that. But the car? That’s his total weakness. It can be stronger than the average car, but if lighting it on fire deals with it, explosions would. That is beyond lazy writing.
Now, the worst part: Chris’s death. Of course, let’s kill a character when he just seemed to redeem himself (but the character that rapes people and can’t really be redeemed, we’re gonna keep him alive, maybe he’ll get a redemption arch 🙂). Once again, writers, why are you making the most stupid choices? While his death wasn’t as stupid as his death in the book where officers shoot him down when he’s trying to protect Vic from one (this is all under Tabitha’s command, let’s just say she’s not that great of a cop in the book or with Maggie, I enjoy her character changes for the show), his death, the way I see it, is still insulting and pointless. Realistically, they could’ve kept him alive, what is the point of not? Also, I know that bike is heavy, but why wouldn’t Vic get up and kick some ass? Of course, her bike would act up just as the Wraith is coming towards her (what is the point of that too?). I really think Chris’s death was just for shock value and filler, and to make Charlie look like an even worse villain (because they reeeeally want to drill this point home, if the way his backstory is presented in the show wasn’t proof enough, which is stupid because we UNDERSTAND WRITERS. It’s you guys that don’t understand that Charlie is established as the villain through being the antagonist and his conflicting actions). While I’m glad they didn’t kill an even more important character (ex, Maggie or Lou or Vic), it’s still stupid to waste all that character development on Chris just for him to go out anyways, all for shock value filler and to make Charlie worse. Again, not saying he’s a saint, not saying it’s out of the realm of possibility for him to want to get revenge on Vic this way, but still, isn’t he already getting revenge on her through Wayne (plus, to him it’s poetic justice that he’s “saving” him from her). There’s really no point to Chris’s death. This reminded me heavily of TWD when they would pull that shock value filler crap with killing characters, and making a villain look worse than needed (an example is what they did with Negan in the show by writing him as even more evil and less redeemable than he is in the comics). I genuinely hope they don’t pull more of this.
All in all, this episode had it’s good moments I enjoyed, but there was definitely some stupidity and bad moments I despised. Let’s hope these last two episodes where shit gets more serious will be better. I’m hoping this show does not turn to crap through a series of stupid decisions, much like TWD did. I will be sorely disappointed at AMC...

mtmte liveblog issue 22
oooh man, its time to feel some EMOTIONS!
I'm BACK after a hiatus, which was due in part to me getting my 1st dose of the covid vaccine! woohoo!
anyways, starting here w/issue 22....we have a great cover w/thunderclash, the legend himself
oof. the covers made me forget how much I don't like the art this issue...I hate to be mean to the artists but this art style just isn't doin it for me chief
god I love this issue though. the framing device of rewind’s movie is so so fantastic
tailgate listing off all his fake awards/accomplishments....ily
rodimus my boy, you're a prime in my heart
the ‘not a decepticon’ label for cyclonus is so much hvbhkjfbskjf
I literally wanna comment on every single panel bc I love all the characters so much but then id be here forever...that being said whirl ily sm
hvbjdfbhsfjhdfshja BRAINSTORM ‘according to perceptor - ships genius’ hvhdkjhbfhjs ily dumb gay idiot
and then the cut to perceptor after brainstorm like, blew up his lab vjbkdsfnbksjf dude
GODDDDDD drift ‘your name...defines you. it’s your soul expressed in syllables. hm? oh, yes, sorry. it’s drift.’ GOD he’s so fucking funny. I love early story hippy drift
god I cant stop thinking about how good this whole issue would be as an animated show...like, specifically rewinds film, it would be SO FUCKING GOOOOOOD mtmte show WHEN
rewiiiiind ;_; I fuckgin love rewind god. fellow video editing enthusiast....
ohhhh rodimus being embarrassed about his big speech at the beginning of mtmte....my boy I love u so much
gjhnbgehjsrkfbjksf magnus being suspicious of rewind oh my god. magnus ily but please, look at the lil guy, he’s a good boy, most of the time
the fuckgin footage that magnus removed hbvhakjbfhskf god. wasn't that intended to be footage of magnus dancing? I love him
minibot squad.....
and here it begins, the mystery stick rung question...
poor rung oh my god he’s just trying to polish his lil spaceship and people r throwing shit at him. taking Ls as per usual it seems
hand grenade tag hvbfjksdnfbkjdf love that callback
noooo rungs ship :(
magnus’s censorship vhbhadkjfhdbhjsakjhfn
oh man I forgot about how they met that race of Transformers But More
the one-upsmanship hbvkajsbehfjks
whirrrrrl lmao I love whirl sm
goddddd whirl just killing that other alien and ending the 16 million yr long civil war bvkjsdbfhjjkafs so fucking much
oh god oh god the ‘are you happy’ page, I'm not emotionally equipped to handle this like, ever
but I will say I feel like it would be EVEN MORE oof if it were milne or someone drawing it bc I feel like this art style takes away from some of the impact bc the expressions aren't really that...expressive? idk how to put it
anyways. every single answer destroys me!!! like even the happy ones, like chromedome and rewind and tailgate - well, in present time, none of those three are doing so hot, so that makes this just hurt
and rung....that is so fucking depressing. jesus. this guy is so fuckng sad, somebody get him a friend stat
and swerve...ouch. this readthru I've really noticed how much early-mtmte swerve is not-so-subtly like, crying out for help bc he’s so alone and shit. jesus
also brainstorms response is just plain ole sad w/context, but at this point in the story without context, it just seems very foreboding lmao. I'm realizing this readthru that brainstorm is very sketchy and ominous in a particular ‘is he evil?’ mad scientist sorta way in early mtmte
and then everyone else is also just so OOF in their own unique sad ways, but I think the worst out of everyone is drift....GODDDDDD. especially considering that at this point in the story, drift is this kinda goofy hippy guy, so seeing him just sit there with his face in his hand, not even answering the question...AND knowing that shortly after this he’ll end up banished...IT FUCKING HURTS M8!
meanwhile, the more upbeat ‘quest to see rungs alt mode’ continues...with an ‘alt mode party’ vhbadkjsdfnabskjf it looks so silly with a bunch of cars just sitting around a table lmao
I cant even tell who everyone is bc they so rarely turn into cars n shit lmaoooooo
rodimus with the bucket on his head hbvhakjbfskjf I CANT
everyone’s reactions to thunderclash...i fucking love it
the fact that TAILGATE doesn't hate him, even though we’ve seen that tailgate tends to dislike people who are universally liked/who have achieved a lot of impressive things
rodimus you petty thot vbdkjbfdjhsakjdf ily
RODIMUS IS SO FUNNYYYYYY ‘I'm not making all these sacrifices and leading these guys into battle and being inspirational - I'm not doing that because it makes me look good’ RODIMUS VBHSKJDFNBKSJF
thunderclash talking about magnus’s article on typefaces....hdbksjfsdbkjgfb bro
AND THEN MAGNUS HUGS HIM....HGBSKJFDSHFKD I CANT
POOR DRIFT bvhajkdfbhjkjsfd rodimus saying he ‘rehabilitated him’ oh my god
the whole spectralism thing...im sorry I cant get over how funny all this is vbakdjfbksjf thunderclash rlly b out here charming rodimus’s entire crew
and then ratchet comes in, calling tc ‘thunders,’ and tc immediately notices ratchets new hands (somehow) hvbkjfhbskjf truly amazing
it cracks me up that rodimus is all 😒😒 at thunderclash, even though as we come to find out, tc really IS That Perfect, and him complimenting rodimus isn't sarcasm at all lmao
AND THEYRE LOOKING FOR THE KNIGHTS OF CYBERTRON TOO HVSDHFJBSHKHDFJS OF COURSE
the vis vitalis being a life support machine spaceship is a really cool concept tho
‘rescuing some orphans from an exploding sun’ I fucking cant
evil guy: [holds a gun to thunderclash’s head]
rodimus: :D finally something doesn't go his way!
he’s so petty I’m..........dkdjhfdabhduifadijgl
and its the aliens from earlier! oooh
GODDD I forgot that swerve used rung in mystery stick mode to SCHWACK the guy
rung casually dropping the fact that the functionists like, experimented on him...there's a lot of implications there, and that'll certainly be explored more later...
the fact that his ID card says ‘rong’ hvbhjakhdsbfakhsjfn
oughufadkfujbsfk the circle of light throwing wrenches n shit at skids...guys cmon vbhsdjkfnslfd
the circle of light is like ‘wtf you all have trauma and a bunch of weird unhealthy coping mechanisms this is wack byeeeee’ lmao
skids calling the lost light his home is rlly sweet tho
cant believe the religious space hippy cult is being so rude about a film made by a guy who died like a week ago. unreal
cd finally figured out how to make the pffft sound, good for him
AUGHHHHH the fact that rewind used ‘little victories’ as the title of the film and that's something that chromedome said in the video ;_; I'm fucking inconsolable
rodimus, despite his obvious posturing for the camera during the whole issue, comes off as surprisingly genuine when he says that he hasn't thought about his own future much, but wants the crew to have a happy ending....im gonna cry
‘who knows what's around the corner?’ tailgate, PLEASE don't say that, oh my god,
OUGHHHH GROUP SHOT
OHHH mannnnNNNNN i love this issue SO MUCH. what a good fun emotional rollercoaster wrap-up to mtmte s1. god.
like, this issue has it all - humor, drama, crippling sadness, intrigue, worldbuilding...it’s so excellent
and getting to see rewind again hurts so bad but also I love him
ok quick mtmte s1 retrospective...god s1 is so fucking good. I'm gonna have to read more to say which chunk of mtmte I liked best but s1 is so fucking excellent that it might be my favorite. though its hard to pick bc there's so much good stuff later on too...whatever, the point is s1 is so so good
the plotlines and characters are fucking stellar. like I cant even believe how well Everything works, its very impressive. I cant really think of anything major that made me go ‘yeah could've done without that plotline/character’
I love how dedicated jro is to connecting everything. I've mentioned it before but basically every single moment in the series has payoff - what you initially think is just a funny moment, or a fluffy character establishment bit, ends up ALSO being an important plot point later, in some way
an example would be here w/rung and his alt mode - it just seems like a fun little B-plot for this issue, and seems to pretty neatly conclude with the reveal that rung was eventually classified as an ‘ornament’ (lmao)...but we later on get to see a lot more about this, both here and in the functionist universe
and like, stuff like tailgate’s autobot lessons w/magnus - at first that can be seen as purely character establishment stuff, showing that magnus is a strict rule-lover and tg is a loveable try-hard good boy - but that becomes plot relevant in remain in light, with tailgate saving the day due to his knowledge of the autobot code (and its also character relevant, with magnus’s arc in remain in light).
and I know this is like. a normal regular thing in writing, but I'm just very impressed about how cleanly jro pulls it off, and how many things he’s juggling at once, especially in early mtmte - it’s very ambitious!
and we gotta remember, this is a comic book. I've read a lot of comic books, and the quality is all over the place. a lot of writers bite off more than they can chew, and the story ends up kinda scattered as a result.
another thing I see a lot in franchise writing like this is a lack of strong early character establishing due to the author assuming the readers are at least somewhat familiar with the characters already - which can be totally fair depending on where it is in the continuity, but other times it can come off as lazy
in mtmte, the cast is extremely well fleshed out, and not only that, the cast itself is unique in that there are a lot of relative unknowns (franchise-wise) - which I think was an absolutely brilliant move, because then jro was able to essentially create The Definitive Version of these characters - characters like swerve, brainstorm, chromedome, rewind, tailgate...mtmte is their baseline characterization, because they haven't really appeared in much else
this also allows for deviation from the franchise norms - again, a comic book classic is good writing being stifled by a need to stick to a certain status quo regard the characters, the world, the powers, relationships, etc
(I've mostly read DC comics, and some marvel, so I'm thinking superheroes w/all these comic comparisons)
so mtmte had a good recipe for genuine creativity in that the characters were relative unknowns, the plot was basically ‘space road trip,’ the status quo of ‘autobot vs decepticon war’ had been demolished throughout the entire franchise...so jro was able to take all that and run, and it turned out so fantastic
and luckily it isn't over yet! so many comics suffer from premature cancellation...and sadly mtmte/ll isn't exempt from this, as we’ll see later, but I've seen some awful ones, where comics are forced to wrap up in like 2 issues while in the middle of an arc. yikes.
but another comic staple...one of my least favorite things about comics books in general...something that was basically responsible for driving me away from comics after reading a bunch...the dreaded crossover event
yep, even mtmte isn't immune to this unfortunate plague on the comic industry. crossover events are the absolute worst, and I'm saying this as somebody who adores crossovers (in concept more than execution usually). they SHOULD be my favorite, but unfortunately they p much always completely suck
they're essentially a ploy to get you to read the other ongoing titles, but they usually only serve to bog down whatever story you're reading to the point where you don't even wanna read that one anymore, let alone read all the other ongoings. at least, that’s been my experience
it doesn't help that reading orders tend to be hard to find/keep track of, and that you need to go read the other series to know what's going on. I just hate it, like, I came here to read THIS series, I don't want a bunch of other series showing up too - even if I was reading two series, I wouldn't want them crossed over, because they're separate stories! augh!
I'm totally losing my focus here but my point is...crossover events suck, and mtmte unfortunately is involved in one. I have not read dark cybertron, and I'm not about to. I've heard nothing but bad things so I have no desire to inflict that upon myself
soooo ill be reading through the tfwiki articles for those issues to give myself a better understanding of what went on - which is more than I've ever done in the past - and maybe ill even make a single post summarizing my thoughts on what I read in the wiki, lmao
but yea ill be skipping to the mtmte s2 stuff next
phew ok I'm super tired, my vision keeps blurring out and stuff lmao. its time for bed, I probably have more thoughts but ill save them for later. for now...peace out!

Yeah Hush is... not good...
I’m just… If you had asked me three days ago about Hush I would have had nothing but good words. A comic classic, one of the first Batman stories I read and an old favorite, a combo of Jim Lee’s stellar art and Loeb’s masterful storytelling.
Rereading on shift last night reminded me that I haven’t physically read it in years and I had a. forgotten how messy it was b. Probably didn’t understand Batman the way I do now. I’m way too tired for long explanations and yall don’t want to see it so I’ll lay out the basics.
- We herald Jim Lee as some kind of artistic deity and by gum some of his panels were beautiful but also every. single. shot that had a woman in it was painful. Everyone was in a body hugging, tit revealing, gravity defying outfit posed in a way no one ACTUALLY stands all tall, curvy and stacked and at times uncanny valley. It was honestly really distracting.
- Its no secret I love Jeph Loeb’s TLH/DV and this story was clearly continued /borrowed from those stories but it just felt kinda cheap? He employed a lot of the same narrative devices used in both stories which I understand but it just really didn’t fit the theme of the story. The big bad guy reveal was not only super obvious but also just badly scripted and a frigging disaster overall.
- Baby me read it and was like “look at all the Batfam! What a good story” but a lot of them are characterized or twisted to suit the story. Selina, my poor Selina, she was a catty (pun intended) bitch the whole time. ‘owo she gave B a kiss’ but like she was either actively fighting against B or needing to be saved, even when she was “helping” she was demeaning Bruce and his coworkers (family) and I’m worried on what Lee/Loeb consider a healthy M/F relationship. Alfred felt flat and remarkably uninvolved in such a personal Bruce Wayne story. Tommy Elliot was a Gary Stu from the start and didn’t have 1 (one) genuine moment the whole book.
- The few bright spots of characterization were Dick and his relationship with B was wonderful and Tim’s little deception with Bruce/Selina was very nice (though it shouldn’t have been necessary).
- The worst to suffer was Bruce and it honestly broke my heart to see Loeb do that. They did the ‘darkness and pain are my only friends, I am so alone, I have no one who understands so the mission is all that matters’ which fits early Bruce more not a Batman who’s grown and matured and amassed a pretty sizable family, in and out of costume. There’s one line where I actually put the book down and stewed for a minute, when he’s fighting Superman where he says “Clark is a fundamentally good man and deep down I am not” which is such a criminally inaccurate description of Bruce Wayne who goddamn loves people more than just about anyone on Earth. There were fleeting moments where we see his kindness and understanding of his heart’s great strength (his whole Jay monologue) but they feel SO out of sorts compared to the theme of the rest of the book.
- Okay I will say I do still like the Jason scene. If only bc i wish I could’ve been a fan as this came out and lost my shit with everyone else like ‘JASON TODD!?!?’ Plus it was fun to pick out where real Jay exchanged for Clay as we know happens in UtRH. Its a bit messy like the rest of the story and kind of doesn’t make sense if you think on it but this was a great example of a comic thing being kind of bad but you’re like “ya know, i don’t care I still like anyway”. I DIDN’T like B’s constant bashing of Robin Jay though ‘tbh Jason was never this good’ ‘he viewed it as a game that got him killed’. I know its not a new idea and almost assuredly was done as set up to UtRH which came out the next year I think but still made me frown.
- Uh rogues were used poorly, where baby me saw it as a grand adventure taking the best of Batman me now was just annoyed at them trying to cram as many familiar faces as possible. Plus the whole idea that Elliot as Hush was working with all these guys is a wreck. I do really still dig the idea of Eddie being behind it all, wish they did more with “Riddler knows Bats’ ID” but w/e. Also idk wtf they were doing to harvey but it was a disservice to his arc in TLH
- Basically the story itself was chaotic, difficult to follow and the conclusion is both obvious and made no sense. The characters were warped visions of themselves tilted through a sexist, grim dark lens to make a Batman world that just felt off with every single word. There’s still elements I did enjoy, I cant say I hate-hate it but wow I won’t be rereading that one for a while.

I think I would’ve liked Brutasha had Whedon not used it to make Natasha seem weak. She was such a strong character before they introduced the Banner aspect - and she was even stronger after he left. If they can find a way to put them together without making her seem like some “dewey-eyed schoolgirl,” then I’m sure they would be great together. But solely as a Natasha fan, I can’t support it the way it is.
Oh, I understand your POV, but even if I don’t like JW so much (I mean, I don’t like how he acts sometimes/most of the times, but kinda liked his shows… idk can’t even express it tbh) I understood why we saw that side of the character.
Here is my POV, read until the end, and PLEASE DON’T HATE BECAUSE THIS IS JUST MY OPINION. Be kind :) (especially because it’s 4 AM here and english is not my first language).
I’ll start saying that before Avengers: Age of Ultron I didn’t even thought to ship Natasha with anyone.I respect Clin***ha and Rom***gers shippers, but I always saw Natasha and Clint like best friends (maybe because I have a male best friend) and I always saw Natasha and Steve like dear friends who support and help each others (and maybe the fact that I’m a Steggy for life make me see this). What I don’t like about all of this were/are the people who hated on the movie ONLY because they shipped Natasha and Bruce with others, especially Natasha. And I’m talking about Clin***ha and Rom***gers or Bu*****t shippers. WHICH I REPEAT I RESPECT if they show respect too, obviously. I don’t like also the ones who always complain and are like “iN tHe CoMiCs WaS nOt LiKe tHat”… 10 years and they didn’t understand that the MCU is different from the comics, and I understand you are upset if it doesn’t happens like in the comics but to be freaking honest the little I know about comic books is that there are relationships who seemed like a freaking soap opera! But still… that’s another discussion! I would love to read comics in the future, but rn I can’t afford any of them.
Returning in topic…As I said… didn’t ship her with anyone… then I was screwed because, as Scarlett Johansson said, after a first moment of “wtf?”… it makes sense! With Bruce, I don’t know, maybe the “dork”-factor of him hits me, but I find them really cute together and I feel sorry for people who didn’t understand it.
Maybe I’m not the only one but I saw it in a different way. If you can notice something in that movie is that Wanda’s power created a fracture in every character after the visions they had, and that’s happened even with Natasha. She is an hero, a badass, she is strong and I love her for being that way. But because of Wanda she remembered what they did to her, they took away from her the possibility to have children, to have a family. It’s normal having a “breakdown” or being weak. She is human! And hero, a badass, yes! But still a human!I think most people misunderstood what she said. She felt like a “monster” because she is a killer, they “made” her an assassin and took away any possibility to have a properly family because they wanted her to be a cold/heartless ASSASSIN! So, she felt like that not because she can’t have children because sterile, but because of what she did in the past.I didn’t felt attacked as most of other women because I rewatched it more than once before understanding what she wanted to really say, and, as you said, I wished Joss could’ve make a better scene tbh and don’t make her so vulnerable and like she needed a man! Like a teenager.
Because NO. WOMEN DON’T NEED MAN TO FEEL COMPLETE! DON’T NEED A LOVE INTEREST/LIFE TO BEING OKAY! DON’T NEED A FAMILY IF THEY DON’T WANT TO START ONE!WOMEN CAN BE SINGLE AND HANDLE THINGS EVEN ALONE!
She was just fine alone and she didn’t need anyone! I completely agree with whom says this. But what I saw in this movie is that she just wanted to be “normal”, not an hero, an avengers, a soldier, an assassin… she just wanted a normal life and I found the flirting with Bruce really sweet tbh. She LOVES teasing/flirting, especially when she is in front of Bruce, an adorable shy dork who already lost his love once. She saw in him a man to build a life with… (tbh, there aren’t many choice if you think about it… Clint is married, — loved his family scenes btw — Steve is just a friend — and was the first to notice their flirting and know it was different because, as I said, she loves the teasing/flirting — then there are Tony and Thor and… no, it’s not gonna happened. XDBruce was scared too, because he really feels like a monster, he lives with the thought of being Hulk every single day, and he thinks he will never have a normal life. That’s why he stopped her in the room. That’s why he left at the end, even if it pained him to do so.
I loved it because it showed the human side of every hero in there. That’s why I liked the movie. That’s why I liked the ship. Plus… I love “Beauty and the Beast” (Disney), so… I think it’s perfect ;)
Still… I want to remember: that’s JUST MY opinion!

Guess who really loves MahoPre and practically fell over herself buying gay books? Opinions and general fangirling are under the cut; I won’t be taking as many pictures this time around though.
Not gonna comment on every book since that would just take forever.
In case it wasn’t obvious, I’m a pretty huge fan of suzu’s so the gems of this lot have got to be his books. He was pretty silent in the month or so prior to Rainbow Flavor so I was all ??? but it turns out he was just busy drawing all the MiraRiko bless. The third book is chalk full of amazing adult!MiraRiko 4komas. Haa-chan loves her moms but she’s becoming jaded with all their age gap play, even when they just trying to be legit (this eventually becomes more sex play BUT WHATEVER). There’s this one 4koma in particular where Riko sits in on one of Mirai’s lectures because she assured her no one would notice BUT EVERYONE NOTICES BECAUSE SHE’S WAY TOO GORGEOUS (“is that the girl Asahina-san is sharing an exchange blog with??”).
Each book does contain a short little comic (in regular comic form) that’s 100% serious and even those are absolutely delightful!!! In book 2, Haa-chan tries to prove that she can fight on her own so Riko can go back to the Magic Academy and fulfill her dream of becoming a great magician and the feels are too great... Book 1′s comic is hilarious in hindsight because Mirai promises Riko that she’ll come to the Magic World for her. And that totally didn’t happen, hehehe...
Tumblr media
I’m gonna lie down, MiraRiko is too good......
GOBOU’S BOOK IS FULL COLOUR MIRARIKO EVERY PAGE EVERY DAY. There are only a handful of drawings that haven’t already been uploaded on twitter/pixiv but WOW the commentary and afterword is worth it. Who doesn’t want to read the thoughts of a fellow yuri clam? lol. And ofc, the final page is the 「あなたがここにいてほしい」picture. Aaaah, how we all wish Mirai and Riko spent their high school days together, falling deeper and deeper in love... ゜・(ノД`)・゜・ I MEAN, the five year gap is all kinds of romantic and just SO BEAUTIFUL but aaaaah they could’ve also been happy growing up together without those sad lonely nights staring at an izayoi moon. ゜・(ノД`)・゜・
Tumblr media
I also wish I had two copies of this so I could frame them side by side. (ღ˘◡˘ღ) Why is Orangea so gay and good????
The anthology was also really aaaaaHHHH!!!! Surprise, surprise, my favourite comic was the one by suzu~ Haa-chan wants a little brother or sister but after having a go at it, it turns out two girls can’t actually have a baby. So what to do? Just transform into Topaz and make one with those yellow balls (complete with a “kin no tama” joke). The babies are basically mini Mirai and Riko and they grow up, fall in love, and want to have babies of their own. But what’s that? Two girls can’t actually have a baby? So what to do? Just transform into Topaz... etc, etc. HELP ME.

And Kokori’s contribution was SO GODDAMN DUMB AND ROMANTIC. They’re in love............ And Haa-chan loves her moms.........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The whole anthology is a gem, just like it says on the tin. 13 beautiful, shining gems. (ღ˘◡˘ღ)
There’s this R18 by Tsuburakei and!! Okay, I’m not the biggest fan of R18 and this really wasn’t gonna be different—I just got it because the opening preview made me laugh (”I got Haa-chan to teach me how to do lewd stuff” “WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU ASKING OUR DAUGHTER??”) and MIRARIKO!!!!!!!! but it got really sweet at the end! (ღ◕◡◕ღ)

Someone needs to stop maho at all costs. I mean, I really like their art style but they keep portraying Mirai as this one-step-from-yandere character. Both their books have real consent issues;;; Granted, I knew what I was getting into but really... Mirai taking the lead is good and all, but this is taking it a little too far imo. Apparently, they wanted to do a more upbeat MiraRiko this RF but this ended up happening again anyways. *stares into space*
I really wanted Negom’s MakoRitsu book but I sorta wanted to bundle it with a KHU book I had my eye on for forever so I waited... AND THEN I READ THERE WAS A TINY LITTLE BIT OF MANAARI AT THE VERY END (LIKE, TWO PAGES’ WORTH) AND I HIT THE “ADD TO CART” BUTTON AS FAST AS I COULD. And it really was only two pages imma gonna lie down sobbing............... In them, Alice reflects on how her feelings for Mana were always hopeless to begin with; it’s just that Mana was the one who got married first. Her situation’s exactly the same as it’s always been. AAARRRGH. YOU MIGHT BE FINE WITH THIS, ALICE, BUT I’M NOT. SOMEONE NEEDS TO GIVE THIS STORY A HAPPY ENDING, STAT.
Putting aside those two pages though, the bulk of the book was really sweet! I’m totally for this interpretation of Mako/Ritsu—seeing someone through entirely new eyes and all that. Negom also has a really nice twitter thread about this book with some neat insights, like how all the scenes she had to cut out would’ve doubled the book’s thickness.
For no reason at all, look at this ridiculous family again:

LOOK AT THEM. I CAN PROBABLY DIE IN PEACE NOW. ಥ◡ಥ
I really can’t get over how perfect MiraRiko is. I’m just a useless yuri clam who’ll take photos of every izayoi from now until they finally reunite, what can I do but cry for ages......
I’ll be going on a little break so my askbox will be open for a little while in case anyone wants to cry about MiraRiko with me or wants to shoot any Precure-related questions my way. Rest assured that I cry about MiraRiko on a daily basis and am progressing pretty well on things starting with Miyu and ending with Rei. (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ Honestly, I’m pretty sure that’s my biggest priority TL-wise.
Questions regarding anything that may or may not have been promised before may go unanswered...? idk, anything that stresses me out too much. MAGICAL GIRL SHIPS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME THOUGH??? If not, I can always just rewatch Ep49 five hundred more times and cry to myself, no biggie~ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
ALSO ITS MIRAI’S BIRTHDAY TOMORROW!!!! (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)و
i hope riko and her have a good time ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
