omg if you ever post any headcanons or fic about that band AU i would love to see 👀 i have so many ideas that i never do anything with because i'm not much of a writer but i too could talk about idiavil and my other twst ships for hours so i totally get that lol. here's another bonus idiavil HC for you: idia feels really embarrassed about saying affectionate things face to face so he sends vil cute texts disguised as game notifications. things like "congratulations! you've reached max affection with idia! ❤". he also sends vil love letters with roses attached... in animal crossing. and then he secretly hopes vil never finds the time to open up his game and read them because he thinks he might die of embarrassment, but unfortunately for him, vil does read them and he sends a letter back every single time.

and okay so. iirc i made a kingdom hearts reference in that post but just mentioned xenoblade in the tags because it's so much less popular/recognizable. but i was originally going to make a reference to xenoblade chronicles 1. i love the whole series and if you like lengthy JRPGs with unique combat and wild stories then you'd probably love it too! but i feel like idia would love XC1 in particular because a major theme of that game's story is that it's about fighting for the freedom to choose your own future. it's about spending your life feeling like you're powerless to change anything, and then allowing yourself to see that that isn't true--that if you keep looking forward and choose not to give up, you can create a world where you can shape your own destiny. you can go the distance. i think it's a story that would really resonate with idia. now, do i think he would see these themes as being applicable to his own life in a realistic way? absolutely not lol, at least not before the events of book 6, but he'd love the fantasy of it. he'd also relate to shulk--the main protagonist of the game--partly for spoilery reasons and partly because shulk is a fucking nerd who resents having to go outside and would rather spend all day in his research lab working with machines. and now i've rambled on about a game you haven't played lol, but if it isn't obvious by now i highly recommend it! and kingdom hearts is my favorite game series of all time so i highly recommend it as well. fun fact: idia's voice actor, kouki uchiyama, also voices roxas in the japanese version of KH!

ok i've been looking for a reason to talk about this for a while and im just gonna go off the rails here

i recently started watching Colin LooksBack's disney villain retrospectives and I'm so damn obsessed with them. I've mentioned this before, I'm a disney fan through and through. No matter how much I painfully despise so many of their recent movies, nostalgia and the hope of finding something as good as their classics keeps me coming back, as disappointed as I am with their recent features from all sides of the company

I'm especially a disney history fan, I love learning about the first few decades of this company for some reason, their movies from that time aren't even my favorites but just all the old concept art and ideas from the imagineers is so cool to me. Mary Blair's work specifically, her art for Cinderella is stunning.

Disney villains specifically have just always been amazing to me. I was obsessed with Ursula as a kid, I thought she was the coolest freaking character. I love her design, her voice is amazing, I adored her then and I still do.

If we're talking about disney content creators though? Avelo (formerly known as Dreamsounds) has my heart and soul. Her videos are everything to me, they got me through covid. I was so sad when she left when she was getting her bottom surgery, worried she'd never return. I audibly gasped when I saw her return video show up on my recommended because I love her videos that much, and still do, even if it's not as disney focused.

I dunno, I think my disney obsession and Kingdom Hearts obsession go hand in hand (hah, that's a kingdom hearts song). I mean KH and disney are tied together by nature, but I got into KH for the disney. I found my moms old kh1 copy a while ago and I wished I could have the chance to play it on the ps2 (which we sadly don't have anymore). I haven't ever finished kh1, the controls are too clunky and I hate that stupid fucking camera. Even still, it's a game that matters to me a lot. KH2 does more for me in the end though, I reset the game so often just to play through Roxas's section in twilight town. it's nostalgic, not even just for playing kh but it's the type of fun me and my friends would have during our summer vacation. seeing roxas's life fall apart is scary because in some way i relate, the friendship he had with hayner, pence, and olette in the data twilight town wasnt real, and neither were my friendships with those people.

back to more regular disney, i fucking love the disney parks. honestly im so nostalgic for fastpass, i miss needing to go up to those little stands and put it on some card. i hate genie+ and lightning lane because it feels much less personal, so do the disney parks in general for me now. maybe it's because i'm getting older, i wouldnt be surprised if that was the case. even still, i love going. i mean cinderellas castle is my damn wallpaper (godddd i love that wallpaper so much....) and there are multiple of these "disney parks music" videos that i will actively use to fall asleep because idk nostalgia is a bitch. the boardwalk one is a personal favorite of mine, something about it just hits for me. me and my family went right after covid started to slow down, the boardwalk was having a soft opening and we got in for cheap. we got this amazing room overlooking the boardwalk itself, and for lack of a better word the vibes were incredible. like... WOW. we drove down, it sucked because it was exhausting and i cant be in small spaces like that for too long, but in the end it could've been worse. i had given myself this challenge to watch all the disney movies before going, i finished encanto on that drive. it's what got me back into so many of them, treasure planet specifically. it feels like every year ill just find myself obsessing over one specific disney movie around this time, last year it was tp and the tinkerbell movies. this year id say it's alice in wonderland, which ive had an obsession with for years. it's just a plotless fun movie with memorable characters that mean something to me. i dunno, im a sucker for anything nostalgic, twisted is my favorite starkid show for a reason, and i don't just love kh for it's crazy plot and characters (although that's most of it)

523,858 words! Granted over half of that is just my slow burn story so lol

Primarily I've written for My Hero Academia (40 out of the total 55). But I've also written for Kingdom Hearts, The World Ends With You, and more recently Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom.

I'm...genuinely shocked one of my LoZ fics is up there??? And so high??? 1, 3, 4, and 5 are all from my hero fanfics which is not surprising and most of them are super old. Number 2 I only posted in June and it was my first fic for LoZ so that's...interesting to say the least.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I try to! The last year or so I've had a hard time working up the energy or finding the words to respond to comments, sometimes. But whenever I do gather up the energy to do it, I tend to answer everything in my inbox in one fell swoop! And I always really appreciate getting them so tbh sometimes I feel bad that it can take so much energy to reply....

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Oh gosh idk if I have anything that qualifies as an angsty ending lol. Maybe Tarantism (a KH fic) because it's supposed to be feelsy and then the ending is one of those "it's just a dream" things haha.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Happiest...probably A Family's Orbit? The story has married izuocha with their first kid who they're not sure when or if she'll have a Quirk of her own. But the one-shot ends pretty happy.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Hmmmm I've gotten a handful of complaints on Drops of Jupiter, on occasion. Usually just people telling me I'm going too slow (when I put in the author's notes of the very first chapter that it's "the slowest of slow burns" smh). Or this one time someone told me I didn't give Deku enough victories in the fic and it would be way better if I did.

Outside of that though, I can't think of any on my other stuff. I've been blessed with very kind commentors, I think.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I've written a couple for Izuocha. But yknow usually, in all honesty, I've only ever written smut out of spite? The two fics I have (Burning Heat and Homecoming) were written in opposition to fandom tendencies at the time. Mostly everyone was talking about Izuku like someone who was a sex addict/sex god and Ochako was just kind of there. And I said "actually I think Deku's on the ace spectrum and probably mostly just cares about pleasing his partner than anything" and thus they were born. I haven't reread them in ages though that said lol

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

Generally, no. However, about a year or so ago I got really into twewy again because I had just finished playing NEO:The World Ends With You. So I came up with a concept that kind of meshes twewy's concept with the my hero world? I only have one chapter posted of Death By Proxy so far, but I have an outline and little details written down whenever I'm in the right headspace for it. For what it's worth, you don't really need to know about twewy to read it, because Izuku finds out how everything works at the same time you do lol

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not to my knowledge. Here's hoping it stays that way lol

Not that I know of? I've never been asked about it anyway.

Not explicitly? I feel like I help out my friends with their stories and vice versa, but not really.

Probably Izuocha, just going by the numbers.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

Hmmm probably Eri-sitting? I really want to finish it at some point, and I posted the first part with every intention of doing it. But I never figured out the way I wanted to start chapter 2. Maybe someday though. Also!!! I did start writing a fanfic based off of heroes of the dark, but I didn't end up finishing it because it contrasted how the story ended and I thought completing that would be in poor taste with that said lol

16. What are your writing strengths?

Hmmm I've always found dialogue and characterization comes easier to me than I think it does to most others? There's always been discussions I've seen where people are like "oh sometimes the characters just do what they want" and I've never really...had that happen? Or at least not in a way that completely alters a story like I've seen people say. Little actions or pieces of dialogue that take me by surprise, sure, but like never anything that completely alters a plot beat I had planned. But usually at least for me, the plot beats are so centered around who they are or how they act that the odds of them veering off course are incredibly slim, if that makes sense

God I'm rambling uh dialogue and characterization I guess was my point haha.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Probably description is the thing I have the hardest time with. Some people are so good at writing a setting and making everything seem so like immersive in that way. For me, I don't see the point in describing something unless it's like relevant and so my description tends to be very to the point.

Also estimating a story's length. Usually I come up with a concept and then I'll say "oh yeah this'll only be this long" and then I start writing and writing and realize I had a lot more to say than I thought I did initially. This has happened a handful of times now haha

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic.

I definitely don't see anything wrong with it. I usually only do it for small phrases, myself, but partially because I'm not fluent in anything except for English. And I generally try to do some research or I'll check with friends if I have any who speak the language I'm using.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Kingdom Hearts! Back in the days of yore, yours truly actually wrote KH retellings with OCs back on quizilla lmao. I wrote quite a lot back then although with how long it's been most of the things I posted on there don't exist anymore. But that was back during 8th grade when I started.

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?

Oh hmm I don't know. I feel like favorites is tough because I like a lot of my stories but for different reasons. I'm exceedingly proud of Drops of Jupiter for example. And I think it's been a true adventure to write and does have some of my best work in it as a result.

But I also think some of the prose and concepts I've made for Call From the Wild has a special place in my heart. It's very different from...basically anything else I've ever written because most ever other fic is "modern" in a manner of speaking and this was my first time writing something that's...decidedly not lol. I also think I'm fond of it because it's adhering to canon while allowing me the creativity to come up with how certain things happened since the details before the Calamity in botw are pretty limited...

Basically I guess my favorite kind of fic I've written is anything that really allows me to go nuts creatively.

It's a Kingdom Hearts fic that crosses over with a lot of my favorite videogames. It's a BEAST as well, as it's currently sitting at almost 155k words, and I am nowhere near the ending of it. The craziest part about it though is the fact that - admittedly - I've never actually played a Kingdom Hearts game, or even watched a walk/playthrough of it xD I've seen parts of it, I know the general idea behind the series, and I think I understand a good bit of the lore, but not the whole series. Which is why I will NEVER post it. Because it's mostly just me being silly. Why did I start writing it? Don't ask me lol the idea got into my brain and wouldn't leave me alone, so I gave in and started writing it.

I love it to death and I want desperately to finish it, but I think I burned out on it. As well, even if I did finish it, I most likely would never post it. Mainly because again, I've never played a Kingdom Hearts game. So even though it's fun for me to write, idk if KH fans would enjoy it.

What are your writing strengths? Being able to write a lot in one sitting. Once I get going, I get GOING and can write for HOURS. On record, my wordiest writing session was 16k words.

What are your writing weaknesses? Definitely the inability to finish anything. Mostly due to the fact that I try to write a lot of long fic, but end up having my hyperfixation shift before I can finish it. Usually because I've begun to fixate on a new fandom.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I personally don't think there is anything wrong with it, especially if it's something the character does in canon.

First fandom you wrote for? I'll be honest, I don't remember. I think it might have been either Devil May Cry or Hellsing.

I'm back on my Kingdom Hearts bullshit-

I've always been annoyed at Kingdom hearts but even tho I love the fandom I can't help but think If I point something out as "This doesnt make sense-" I'll be called stupid and I obvs wasn't playing the game/paying attention and its right there but honestly? Theres just some things in KH that annoy me when I remember them because the game is just jam packed with so much lore and bullshit that even matpat from game theory just did one video about frozen and dipped and thats-

Armour. This one bugs me.

It was Introduced in BBS and 365/2 days later, and then dropped it like it was yesterdays news.

Like Aqua, terra and ventus even Xehanort in KH3 had armour.

Strangely enough Eraques armour looks like Xemnes [Mansex kh2 villains final boss thing]

Okay fair enough because Xehmnes is a possesed Terranort/nobody so his armour nobody resembles Eraques for some reason? Even though it SHOULD resemble Xehanorts -_-

But then the next thing that pisses me off is Xion.

even SHE got armour in 365/2 days later and the armour looks like Sora thats what EVERYBODY was saying which was why the BBS trailer of seeing all the armour of Terra/Aqua/Ven in the keyblade graveyward because of the reds/yellows we all assumed that Terra at the time was an older Sora or Soras dad [Man I miss those old theories]

So we have lingering will that hosts Terras [idk his heart? His soul? something] And we fight it in kh2- and its used to protect Terra [who then becomes that weird heartless thing attatched to Ansem how that happened I still idk] Aquas armour is also locked in Xehmnes basement but she used it to push Terranort away from the realm of darkness to save him and Xehmnes even keeps the armour as if he had some emotional attatchment to it. So Xehmnes is strange as a character coz you assume he IS xehanort but theres moments he acts like Terra you would think such emotions would be seen as foolish.

Also why does Terras armour have a cape? Pretentious much?

Then Vens armour that was used to protect Sora in DDD but got corrupted so Riku had to beat the shit out of an unconcious Sora being puppeted by a dark armour to 'save' him.

Riku: Don't worry Sora! *Smack* I'm SAVING YOU *SMACK!*

But THEN in KH3 we don't GET armour? Why? Don't we need protection!??!?!?!?! Yen Sid?

What is the point of introducing Armour just to say-

Nah, plaid jeans and zips and belts are a better aesthetic* Like sure I understand if they drop it because it doesnt HAVE a place in KH its also to differentiate the generations like "Wow Armour is so old school." But its annoying because KH lore and details and other such bullshit is like "It wouldn't be put into the game unless it had a reason! It has purpose!" But then to not include armour in KH3 like Riku could've used it in the realm of darkness or the seven could've had it before the keyblade war-

OR Re-introduce the fairy god mothers and how they used their magic in Soras clothes in kh2 [new duds/drive forms] could say that they've advanced to the point of not needing armour anymore which fair enough. I take everything back. It just gets me that Ven/Aqua/Terra wont look at the new keyblade weilders and be like...

"Wheres your armour?" If kairi and aqua are going to 'train' Aqua would be like "This would've been helpful in the last battle -_-."

Oh and another seperate thing that gets on my nerves.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? I thought oh cool this guy is norted and just EMBRACING being possesed by some crusty old guy sure coool coool cooooolio!

Just to find out that its HIS Keyblade and his name is LUXU and he's part of the old apprentiences under MOM [Master of Masters]

Like he was supposed to observe I guess but him wanting a keyblade [because the one xehanort has is HIS which means Luxu was Xehanorts master and bequithed him his blade? But in BBS when his eyes got FUCKED by Terra and he was whining how it wasn't part of the deal of when Xehanort stabbed him to turn his body into a heartless/nobody and said "Wait you never lost your memory?" Xigbar/Braig/Luxu was just riding the currents and pretending to follow Xehanort only to have his own ultierior motives?

I just I just gyah!?!?!?!? do people still understand Kingdom hearts because I don't. Just when I think I've got it figured out it does this and I'm lost all over again -_-

Lemme tell you about Kingdom Hearts

I have never seen a video game story so convoluted and needlessly expanded as kingdom hearts. I played kingdom hearts 1 and 2 in the past and thought to return to the series after buying KH2.5 on sale on psn. I...did not think it through enough

So I played KH1 again and endlessly struggled and got through chain of memories (despite the horrible card system) I watched 358/2 days cut seen (only cause I liked organization xiii a bit) and boy howdy that was ALOT to get through to reach KH2 again.

So I'm playing that and I've yet to reach the prequel birth by sleep (which I'm interested in) but ive been spoiled about it and....why does ventus look like a roxas clone. Why does vanitas look like a sora clone. And why do we need an explanation for that???

Honestly they could've been designed better if they were supposed to be their own people/manifestations and looked DIFFERENT. Different hair! different face!! And then theres the fact ventus is still in soras heart as seen in (a game I really don't want to play) kingdom hearts re:coded.

I may be wrong about this but why couldn't sora be a reincarnation of ventus? Maybe he is idk but That would've been SO MUCH EASIER than keeping a roxas clone in the story. And I think vanitas does return and take over sora in KH3 (I haven't played that yet either!) Which brings me to another thing,

Theres ANOTHER prequel to play before getting to Kingdom hearts 3, kingdom hearts union X. As much as I liked backstory on the keyblade war it is SO drawn out story wise, especially in gameplay (and being a cash grabbing gacha). I did not need like 5 or 7 levels of fighting hearts to get from one place to another just to get Alice to a fucking tea party (in wonderland AGAIN) or to get around the underworld in the Colosseum (AGAIN) which brings me to another point.

Kingdom hearts reuses levels and characters in a way that is needless, annoyingly repetitive and doesnt make sense. I didnt need to go to Atlantica 3 times. Or Arabia 4 times, or to the Colosseum again or the underworld of the Colosseum again or wonderland or you get my point by now.

Also there is so much retconning. The fact that these characters have met a keyblade master in the past (union x) yet get so surprised as if they're meeting one for the first time in the original KH does not make sense. Like Donald and goofy being retconned and getting help from a keyblade master in the past and getting surprised by sora in KH1 is jarring and doesnt add up in the end. For Mickey it does at least since he has knowledge of the keyblade before hand in union cross and KH1. Like if you're gonna make a prequel, at least make it so that it doesn't contradict and make the original obsolete.

Also there are *so* many characters it makes my head spin. I had my plate full with the nobodies, and aqua, terra and ventus, and xehanort/ansem/xemnas (or mansex) that the addition of the foretellars, and luxu and xehanorts brethren AND the master of masters makes my head spin.

And now they say kindgom hearts is at "phase 2" and it's only been the first half and now they added xehanorts back story and new characters and I'm just😫, I'm fucking done.

So like I'm probably gonna play birth by sleep (like a sucker for punishment) JUST so I can play KH3 (which haven't played yet since last christmas) which SHOULD'VE ENDED WITH THAT (but it didn't) and then I'm fucking out.

KH3 secret ending Analisys

I've been thinking about this, about what they wanted show to us, and I have some conclusions.

All of us have known that the secret ending intended to remind us of the FF Versus XIII 'ambient'. But, what's exactly what it wants?

We have to keep this in mind: Nomura, director of KH series, FF Versus XIII and worker of The World Ends with You, and all are of the same company.

In the beginning we can see that Sora is in a city, in Shibuya. Especifically, in twewy's Shibuya, and we can know this thanks to the number 104, that appears in this game like that replacing the 109 of the real Shibuya.  We have to remember too that in the past, Sora promised Neku to visit them in Shibuya. Shibuya is were the dead main characters go for be relived. Maybe that’s why Sora is there.  Regrettably, I only can get that it has referred to that game, and I don't know the reason of Tetsuya Nomura. And then, it's Riku's part. Riku is in a modern city, that immediately reminded us Final Fantasy Versus XIII, or XV. We also saw references to this game when we saw Riku's kh3 design the first time. And comparing...

wow. Insomnia? This is the “new world” of Verum Rex (based in FF) which respective protagonist is Yozora, a guy who looks exactly like Riku and Noctis.

FACTS, MEANINGS:

Noctis Lucis Caelum:  Night Light Sky. Yozora: Night Sky. (夜空)

Verum Rex: True King. And Noctis is a prince who becomes a king.

What is what Nomura wants? FF Versus XIII never released because he had to cancelate it because the KH3's development. Is this a way to pay tribute to it or more a way to return to it? Is that maybe the why of Riku's design? And not only him.....

Verum Rex girl looks like that the Noctis' love interests (in FFXV and VSXIII respectively) even the clothes. So we have the references: Noctis-Yozora-Riku, Stella/Luna-that girl-?

At the first moment we saw Stella in Versus XIII trailers, she reminded us Naminé— we thought it was very cheeky. The girls of the 3 games, looks like very similar, just like the protagonists of the 3 games.

Maybe is that the why of KH3's ending with the Riku-Naminé scene? Because it reminds to me Noctis-Stella so much, and specially scenery with the petals like in Noctis and Luna's wedding idk.

WHY?!?!?!!!!!????!? NOMURA???? I can analyze all of this, but I can't know what os he thinking to do with this, what is the reason. And why are The World Ends with You and Final Fantasy Versus XIII? Both are from Square Enix, and in both, Nomura has something to do. I know (and expected) that Sora have to go to Shibuya. How if Sora is not here? And Riku located in that place... With a guy that looks like exactly like him and at first was a character of a game in a Disney World?  My head explodes. Now you can make your own conclusions.

UPDATE: In twewy, for play in Shibuya and be able to revive you have to erase all the other’s memories about you. That’s why everyone is happy in Destiny Islands. They don’t remember him. And probably Kairi wasn’t there. We only can see her when everyone turn to see her, probably imagining her for some reason. (bcs suddenly she appears, she wasn’t before) And like everyone can’t remember Sora, they only see Kairi.

What all my friends play: Smash, KH3, Overwatch, DnD at each others houses

What I play: fucking eso. Planetside. Minecraft if I'm especially sad. Lil bit of Fallout.

Fucnkhngg hell bro. Why can't I ever get into the games that my real life friends like (idk why I said that, I don't even have Internet friends to compare my real life friends to). I just feel really left out gawking at a game that nobody cares about anymore while my friends are playing smash and sharing kh3 memes.

This is a pretty small TES page I run (i don't really even run it consistently). This is the only place I can share my thoughts about lore, speculation for the next game, and memes that nobody finds funny. I desperately want somebody to talk to about this shit in real life with so Im not seen as the only dork whos obsessed with the skyrim series.

Do y'all have friends in real life yall talk about TES with? Who's just as invested as you are?? I have a friend who I've never seen pick up a controller in their life buy KH3 and a whole ass ps4 and give me the run down on the whole series like I wasn't even more confused when she finished. People really be out here as closeted KH fans when the last game came out before they were born.

Idk I'm just a little shook and jealous for our dwindling community. TES is so popular but why doesn't anybody in real life play like we do? While Beyond Skyrim is under development, its developing so slowly that nobody's gonna consistently keep up with it until its finished. The modding community is the only thing thats remained relatively active, but they're doing a lot of work for a crowd thats only a fraction of what it used to be.

But I guess its understandable. Just like KH, TES has so much god damn lore, more lore than KH actually, and so much shit to learn about when you initially start that most people might be turned off at how much time they might waste doing that. Also people just don't play RPGs in real life for some reason.

Just a note, I'm not hating on KH. I don't think its a great game, but i kinda understand why people like it as much as they do. I'm really just jealous is all. I'm jealous that we don't have that. I'm jealous that all my friends can play this and smash while Im just alone playing a dead game with an almost-dead fanbase.

character in general : forgive me for not having a lot of knowledge on kingdom hearts because i really don’t . i have never touched a single thing about it . i only know things from like the memes i have seen , which aren’t a lot anyway , as well as a couple of crack / funny videos . but i have never seen or noticed riku ( usually its like mickey , donald , & sora - not to mention my fav clip is the one with sephie literally pinning mickey HRNGH ) . but ... that being said , i did try to look him up on the wiki . just .. please bear with me as i have absolutely NO spoons to use right now so reading up on ANYTHING is a huge struggle for me & will be an immense struggle for me for a while ... ( i actually really only have a knife at the moment to use & im not gonna use that cause there’s no purpose for it here )

 from what i have gathered though . riku looks like a character that i would fall in love with . im surprised that i didn’t notice him before HRNGH . idk . like i think i’d like him a lot , but im also just pretty much on the fence in general since i have no intentions to get into KH - the fandom itself has kinda put me off from being interested in it & i just don’t really take it seriously .

Have you found a lot of resistance or ire pointed at you for encouraging people to play JP? I find that there's a good amount of people who insist JPUX is "easy mode" and I've even been called a shill for pointing out how different the two servers are in an effort to teach others how the NA playerbase isn't treated fairly. This really depends on the people you’re around. I’m going to put our replies under a read more (so click on the question) since I’ve a lot (I wrote way too much so I apologize for the wall) to say regarding this, and Lucky probably has some things to add as well.

I’ve been met with healthy skepticism, which is perfectly fine. After all, I AM biased. You shouldn’t just believe everything everyone says, and always think for yourself. 

I did try to convince my friend (IRL) to play JP KHUX, because she loved playing NA KHUX. At first she said no because she didn’t want to fall into KHUX hell like me, but after I told her how different JP KHUX and NA KHUX was treated, she did join! :> She said she enjoys JP KHUX a whole lot more than NA KHUX and stopped playing NA KHUX.

We try to state hard facts in addition to our own experiences and there’s plenty of those. We’ve listed differences in play, treatment, jewels, bonuses, events and handling before. The reasons we list as PSA or when people ask for differences/reasons to migrate are to make people aware. After that, it’s up to them what they want to do with the information.

I’m guilting of urging NA KHUX players to play JP KHUX though. =w=;; When they come and rant to me on this blog, there is nothing I can do but tell them to play JP KHUX if they enjoy the game play but couldn’t handle the way NA KHUX were being treated. Honestly, I wouldn’t have much of a problem with playing NA KHUX if NA KHUX were treated the same way as JP KHUX. But all I can do is to advice them to change. Whether they take action or not is ultimately up to them. I’ve done all I can do urge them, but the choice is their’s to make.

While it’s sweet of you to make them aware of the differences (and suggest they try JP KHUX), a lot of people have trouble with language barriers or straightup abandoning their account. Personal reasons also apply. This is completely understandable, and we do encourage to read up on the plot of KHUX through either the global version or youtube videos/translations if they try JP KHUX.

I’ve always found it a bit difficult to recommend KHUX JP, especially at first. I got better at reading Japanese through it, but I’m definitely among the select few of intl players who can read Japanese. The more feedback I got from happy migrated players, the more confident I got with recommending the JP server to others (using quotes and numbers to back my claims more in addition to the facts and my own experiences). Obviously I still put a disclaimer; part of my experience differs, since I don’t need to look things up. This makes me a faster player and enables me to enjoy the story. Heck, my own party members read either no Japanese at all, or picked up some keywords for when I’m not around.  And even they enjoy the game a ton. In both versions, being part of a good party can make such a difference…I’m trailing off.

Okay on my part, I’ve never understood the plot for KH games. I just know that my goal is to kill whatever I see really. There is too much in-between cut scenes that you forget why you’re doing it in the first place. So, the same happened for me with KHUX. I just kill whatever I see and complete missions. I didn’t REALLY care for the story because I’m so lost with the KH plot already and I couldn’t figure out why KHUX is so important to the KH plot aside from the keyblade war. (We’re going to be dead kids.)

NA KHUX is the way it is, and probably won’t change much due to the amount of players still dishing hefty sums of money out. The resistance you’ve been seeing is part of that problem. Calling JP KHUX ‘easy mode’ is a new one to me, and makes me think that’s what they call it to make themselves feel better about it. So long they’re enjoying the game, that’s fine with me, though.

I can understand why NA KHUX players call JP KHUX easy mode, and they’re not wrong to call JP KHUX “easy mode”. Especially going from JP KHUX to NA KHUX, my JP KHUX account is GODLY compared to NA KHUX. The enemies I fight in JP KHUX die easily with a single guilted premium, yet I’m suffering in NA KHUX even using an entire deck. You do have to strategize differently in NA KHUX than you do in JP KHUX, such as giving good skills (i.e. SP+&Atk boost 3, or Lux+&Atk Boost 2) to guilted non-premiums, because chances for f2p to guilt premiums is rather impossible. 

And, TBH, because JP KHUX are so strong now, we can easily solo Raid Bosses even at level 99 (no joke guys, we can bring in like 5 million lux in one fight against a lvl 99 RB). It used to be more fun when the entire party coordinated together to kill a raid boss because we really needed to work together to defeat the raid boss and bring the raid boss to level 99. Someone needed to be a summoner and everyone else participated in killing the raid boss. Now, it is just us soloing the raid bosses. Yes, we need to work together as a party to rank well party wise, but it’s not the same... There is something fun and satisfying knowing your party members rely on each other to help each other out, and being too strong with the RBs took that aspect away.

Square KINDA brought back the “work together as a party” aspect by giving up 101 Dalmatian hell in JP KHUX, but it is only temporary. I do hope multi-player will allow us to work together again in a party.

I do not advertise JP KHUX actively. I recommend it casually when I see players struggling on global, or when they approach me about it.

I’ve seen JP KHUX players obnoxiously advertise (under SENA KHUX tweets, for example) that NA players should just join JP, that JP is better, that NA is being ridiculous. 

IDK, I DO THINK NA KHUX IS RIDICULOUS THOUGH. I mean the requirement to get a commemorative medal requires NA KHUX players to have them guilted?! LIKE SERIOUSLY? If the new premiums are guaranteed to come with 3 dots. FINE. So we need to make at most 10 draws to be qualified to get the premium and NA KHUX f2p players can do that. But asking us to get SEVEN COPIES of a premium so we can have it GUILTED by a CLOSE DEADLINE TO THE RELEASE DATE is ridiculous!!  No way can ANY f2p or c2p players can obtain these commemorative medals. Or if Square keeps the requirement in order to obtain the commemorative medals you need so and so premiums guilted, but no deadline, is okay too because f2p players can EVENTUALLY get the commemorative medal. But Square is expecting NA KHUX to have premiums guilted by such a close deadline to the release date is similar, if not the same, as the JP KHUX standard. While it is difficult for f2p JP KHUX players to obtain a commemorative medal, it is not impossible. Honestly though, they should’ve kept the requirement to obtain the commemorative medal as obtaining the premium by a deadline.

And don’t get me started on the lack of special VIP missions available every week and lack of guilt bonus events. IT WOULDN’T HURT TO GIVE US MORE GUILT BONUS CAMPAIGNS. JUST SAYIN’ SQUARE. GIVE US MORE GUILT BONUS CAMPAIGNS.

Nobody has the right to ruin another player’s experience. You do whatever leyts you have most fun. It’s fine to call SENA out for being unfair, but be specific, be factual, and be articulate. 

There’s NA players who will call you a shill for advertising JP KHUX. There’s NA players who will stick with NA regardless of what anyone says. There’s also JP players who feel overly sorry for NA players or will think highly of themselves for having made the switch to JP. There’s annoying/obnoxious players in both versions of the game, because we’re all just players looking for a fun experience. And players are humans, so there’s always going to be ones you don’t get along with. But there’s also those you’ll be able to befriend.

In the end though, it’s not your responsibility. If they’re having fun as is, or don’t feel like giving JP KHUX a shot, that’s their own decision. If it really starts causing you grief, remember it’s not your responsibility to persuade them or make them aware. In fact, if you’re actively persuading, I recommend you to not do so. It’s a lot of wasted energy, and if they resist, it’ll make their game experience less fun to be (constantly) reminded of the differences, too.

If they’re having fun, and you’re having fun on your own, then that’s perfectly fine the way it is. 

If they don’t want to try/play JP KHUX even after knowing the differences, there’s little anyone can do about it, and it’s their choice.

There’s a whole lot more I could say about this, but I’ll stop here. 

I don’t know if you just point it out, or if you’re actively persuading, or if you’re part of the group who’s actively advertising.

I don’t mind what you choose to do, that’s your responsibility too. 

But you did hint that the feedback you got impacted you negatively, which means you’ll want to rethink your actions– not because you have been wrong (or depending on how you went about it, maybe you approach was, I cannot say) but because your advice has been ignored or you’ve been called out for advertising.

( I’m aware that my phrasing may give you the wrong idea, so I’ll repeat: I’m not making assumptions about you. This is why I include multiple scenarios. I don’t know what type of person you are or how you tried to approach those players. You know who you are and how you approached them, so you know exactly how it went. You don’t owe me that explanation and I don’t need you do go into detail– you can figure out where to go from here. But again, my advice in a tldr: if it causes you so much grief and frustration, maybe it’s better to focus on having fun and being a bit more picky with who you try to help out. )

Kai's Really Inaccurate Ranking of All the Dearly Beloved Versions

Days - So uh yeah this is my favorite. I don't hear this one talked about enough, and it makes me sad. I kinda associate the main instruments of it (flute, piano, and song string instrument I can't put my finger on the name of) as Roxas, Axel, and Xion. All doing their own parts and intertwining their paths before being pulled away once more. I'm certainly looking too deep into this song but yknow what it's a song that deserves to be looked into because it's just that good. I could listen to the Days DB for literal hours and never be sick of it, and likely cry a lot during it too but whatever.

2. MoM - I've got a story for this one. MoM was my first KH game, and I truly didn't know this song even existed because I never stuck around the title screen. I had 100 hours in MoM before I realized this song existed, and I CRIED. My cousin was there, she can confirm. I feel safe listening to this song, it's the song I listen to when I'm about to lose it and just need something to pick me up and idk make me feel better. I've never gotten so emotional listening to such a happy song before.

3. KH1 - The waves are such a great touch, it's so cozy. It's a great way to start the series, you instantly feel at home.

4. DDD - This one started this whole ranking thing. I love this one, I love it so much. I don't like DDD, I kinda despise it, but this is just so special. It's a damn WALTZ. And the way it grows on itself, it's stunning. I want this played at my damn wedding day.

5. CoM - It's a personal favorite of mine, I might not like the game but this is special for me. I wouldn't be able to tell you why, it's just comforting, like a big giant hug while it watches you suffer through the cards.

6. ML - THE CHOIR GUYS. THE FCKN CHOIR. It's just so GAHHHH I'm so hyped for this game MISSING LINK WHEN???? Like oh my gosh they went off with this song I hope this is actually the song that plays in the opening I kinda doubt it because of how absolutely extra it is but I just adore it. The claps and stomping is such a good touch

7. KH3 - This one is just so sweet, it's gorgeous. Bringing back the waves, ugh the WAVES. I'm a sucker for the waves. I wish I just had more emotional ties to KH3 because this could easily make top 5.

8. Unchained Key - I forgot how much I loved this one I started it at number 11 and then it started to get fast and I got so into listening to it. It's just such a vibe, it fits the mobile games very well.

9. BBS - I've never gotten the hype around this one? Like it's alright, it's certainly good! But it's just kinda, idk there. It sounds nice but at the same time they all sound nice so it just makes this one average. I like it when the parts start changing, I think that's the highlight of the song for me.

10. KH2 - As of writing this I've deleted kh2s accidentally TWICE. Let me explain my controversial pick AGAIN. KH2 is my favorite video game of all time, the DB has just never done much for me. Sure it's special, but it's for some reason not held up by nostalgia.

11. UX - I don't know why this one doesn't work for me. It's gorgeous, it's so pretty, but also I dunno... it just kinda exists? Why don't I like this it's stunning??? I truly can't tell you why this isn't doing much for me, this one may just change with my mood.

12. Back Cover - Uh yeah I dunno it's fine. It's pretty, it builds on itself nice enough.

13. Re:Coded - I think this was one of my first times actually listening to the recoded DB. And like, I dunno it's fine. It sounds a bit like the kh2 one, only everything feels a little off. It doesn't have the charm of other DBs. Like it's got charm, but it's nothing really too special. It's like Re:Coded as a game. It's fine, forgettable, but fine.

Idk, maybe coming from games like sif where nothings ever guaranteed (600 gems and no ur lmao) i just really never see khux as that bad? I totally agree with you that if Square treated JP KHUX as they did treat NA KHUX, or if JP KHUX didn’t even exist at all, people wouldn’t complain as much. 

For example, when Square made it harder to obtain the commemorative premiums in JP KHUX, having just one of the require medals guilted to having any two or three combination of the premiums guilted, I’m pretty sure many JP KHUX players were upset, because I was, especially because Square doesn’t tell you that certain premiums will get you a commemorative medal until they release the last one of the duo or trio. This also happened in NA KHUX as well, when they made Ventus&Aqua&Terra [S] obtainable if you could get any of the BBS trio, to having any one of the KH1 Destiny Island trio guilted to obtain a copy of the commemorative medal. NA KHUX players also complained there as well, but the difference in jewels you have to sacrifice between JP KHUX and NA KHUX to obtain the commemorative medal is way too steep.

However, what makes NA KHUX players complain a lot is that we know Square Enix can treat us nicer (more f2p friendly), yet they refuse to do so over and over again. I can think up of many examples of this, but I am only going to name a few to keep this post not too long. 

 The first one: the WOFF medals. Yes, most of them have been nerfed, and I can understand why, as JP KA 4 [M] has not been released yet, but the deal they were offered in is not as good as JP KHUX. JP KHUX had the WOFF medals offered so that you were guaranteed to get a WOFF medal in 5 medal draw, and they were guaranteed to come with 1 to 3 dots. Yet, NA KHUX had the deal as guaranteed to get one of the WOFF medals and MAYBE it will come with 3 dots. 

Second, SE also has been giving challenges on the same level as JP KHUX to NA KHUX, when the average f2p player cannot handle that difficulty because of the terrible deals SE has given NA KHUX. Look at the Xenmas Event; they only tweaked the enemies slightly but everything was the same as JP KHUX. If SE is going to treat NA KHUX and JP KHUX different, they need to change up the difficulty of the enemies and not just copy and paste the event over with only a few tweaks.

And last but not least, don’t get me started on the new deal for 3 dotted premium but no guarantee after a set amount of draws. I’ll probably save that as a rant for another ask, but it also sucks that Square doesn’t give us the drop rates for the premiums as well. If I remember correctly, in SIF they give the drop rates for the idol cards, and they also do that too for FE:H. But no one complains about the no guarantee thing they have going on in these two games because they treat both the JP and ENG version the same, gameplay wise, at least for FE:H for sure (I don’t think FE:H english version doesn’t have an official twitter while the JP does). Also, I’m pretty sure that a part of being able to rank well in SIF is based on skill, and literal skill, which is how good are you at rhythm games, which requires practice. Even if you have all the UR cards max idolized and everything, the equivalent of obtaining and max guilting premiums I assume, you can’t rank well if you can’t even pull a full combo. KHUX, however, does not requires skills to play. If you made a new account and throw enough jewels and a 0 AP campaign at it, that new account can catch up to a veteran f2p KHUX player in a week easily, especially if they know what they’re doing. This is because what makes a KHUX player strong is not based on skill, as it doesn’t require much practice to swipe or tap, but on the medals you have, which is why being able to obtain premiums and guilting them is so important. Take the Coliseum for example. Before any of the GAU+2 or GAU+3 for the turn medals were released, what separated out the strong and the weak KHUX players were those with KH 1 Kairi [P], as she gives GAU+2 for itself and next medal. There was a glitch in the game where if you use a GAU+1 for the turn after KH1 Kairi [P], it becomes GAU+3 for the entire turn. Players with KH1 Kairi [P] got further into Coliseum and defeated much higher level enemies than players who didn’t have KH1 Kairi [P].

And to add more salt to the wound, did you see the HSE bonus point medals?! ONLY THE NEW MEDALS FROM THIS DRAW GIVES YOU POINT BOOST. HD Ursula [M] gives 21% while KA3 [S] gives 14%, and they SKIPPED the Sora Illu. B [S] and Riku Illu. B [P] as potential HSE bonus point medal!! WHAT. THE. HELL SQUARE!! Like at this point, Square is desperate to make people want to get HD Ursula [M] because we all know she sucks since she is single target. 

TL;DR: Players complain about NA KHUX because Square can be nicer and more F2P friendly as proven with JP KHUX, yet they continue to have us sacrifice our wallets in order to keep up with the game.
