Okay, so yall really liked my last one (and thanks to all of you, I'm glad you guys enjoyed). I wanted to try my hand again and see how this goes, idk about you guys, but Epic the Musical has been my soundtrack for weeks now, and the Ithaca Saga has my heart so...Husbands!Danny and Jason torn apart due to bad resurrection? Why not.

Warning for referenced character death and blood mention, nothing too graphic, tho. Pit Rage makes people do questionable things, ya know?

The Justice League's meeting room was cloaked in unnatural shadows, the atmosphere thick with tension, like the heavy silence before a storm. A team from Justice League Dark stood in the center, preparing for a ritual. Zatanna, her voice a whispered incantation, traced glowing glyphs onto the marble floor. Constantine, who had been trying to tell them all this would be a bad idea, leaned against the wall, a cigarette dangling from his lips despite the no-smoking signs, while Doctor Fate floated nearby, his ethereal presence a calm amid the chaos.

Batman stood at the edge of the circle, arms crossed. He hated magic—always had—but these were desperate times. Jason Todd, the Red Hood, had been spiraling for months. His vendetta against Gotham’s Rogues had left behind a trail of bodies, destruction, and secrets too dangerous to let slip. But it was more than just Jason’s rage. Strange energy readings tied to the Infinite Realms had begun to swirl around his every move. Whatever connection Jason had to that otherworldly dimension had become unstable, and they needed answers—answers only the Ghost King could provide.

“Are we ready?” Batman’s voice cut through the room. Zatanna nodded, stepping back as the last glyph flared to life. “The summoning spell is complete. Brace yourselves. This entity isn’t like anything we’ve dealt with before.” Constantine snorted, flicking his cigarette to the ground. “Ain’t that just bloody reassuring.”

The air split with a deafening crack, and green light spiraled upward, forming a vortex. From it stepped a figure draped in black armor, a faint crown glowing above his head, his eyes burning with an eerie green light. Danny Phantom, the Ghost King, stood before them. "Who dares to summon the High King of the Infinite Realms?" His voice carried an unearthly echo, a stark contrast to the mortal men and women in the room.

Constantine muttered something under his breath—likely a curse—but Wonder Woman stepped forward, her voice steady. “We require your assistance, Ghost King. There’s a man, the Red Hood, aka Jason Todd, whose actions have drawn the attention of both our realm and yours.” Danny’s eyes narrowed, his posture stiffening. “Jason Todd?” Batman stepped forward, his voice rough but resolute. “He’s my son.”

Danny’s gaze snapped to him, the glowing green light flickering with intensity. “Your son,” he repeated, his tone colder now, sharper. Zatanna stepped in to explain, her voice calm but urgent. “Jason is targeting Gotham’s Rogues, several have been killed. But it seems he has a connection to the Infinite Realms. His ectoplasmic energy is spiking. We believe he’s drawing power from your domain, whether he knows it or not.” Danny’s expression darkened, and his voice dropped to a low, almost imperceptible growl. “And you want me to stop him.”

“Not stop,” Wonder Woman corrected gently. “Help. If he’s tied to your realm, we need to understand why—and how to sever that connection, if necessary.” Danny stood motionless, the green light in his eyes flickering with a mix of emotions none of them could decipher. After a long moment, he nodded, sharp and final. “I’ll handle it. Alone.” Batman started to protest, but Danny cut him off with a steady gaze, his voice softening, just a fraction. “You’ve done your part. Let me do mine.” Without waiting for a response, Danny turned and stepped back into the swirling portal, leaving the Justice League in a heavy, uneasy silence.

The Infinite Realms churned around Danny as he passed through the portal, an energy that mirrored the restlessness gnawing at his heart. When he had been summoned, he had expected a crisis—another rift in the realms or a rogue spirit threatening the balance, hell even just cultists trying to mess with the order of things again. What he hadn’t expected was to be summoned to deal with him.

Jason...his sweet and loving Jason.

As the portal closed behind him, Danny heard Batman’s grim explanation echo in his mind: Red Hood was spiraling. He’d already killed Joker, Riddler, and Two-Face. And it seemed like Penguin was next. The Pit Rage had taken hold, and no one—least of all Bruce—had been able to pull Jason from the edge. The Justice League had turned to him because the energy Jason radiated had drawn their attention to the Infinite Realms.

It had been twenty years since Jason disappeared from the Realms—twenty long years since Danny had watched his husband, the man he had married in death, pulled from his side and resurrected in the mortal world. For Danny, it felt like an eternity.

As Danny emerged from the portal into Gotham’s shadowed streets, the oppressive energy in the air pulled at him, thick with Jason’s rage. He could feel the ectoplasmic aura that surrounded him, like a storm cloud about to break. But more than that, Danny could feel the familiar tug of Jason’s presence. It was raw, chaotic—lost.

And Danny? He was all too familiar with being lost.

There was no turning back now. Jason was out there, a tempest of pain and blood, and Danny couldn’t stop the wave of dread that surged through him. This was his husband—the man he had fallen in love with, over and over again—and now he was out of control.

Danny’s eyes glowed as he moved deeper into the city, knowing that whatever happened next, he wouldn’t be alone in facing it. Not this time. Jason Todd stood among the wreckage of a smuggling ring’s hideout. The docks were eerily silent except for the gentle lap of water against the pier. Blood slicked his gloved hands, and his breath came in shallow, ragged gasps. The Pit Rage roared in his ears, demanding more—more destruction, more vengeance, and more blood.

The ghostly glow appeared behind him, and Jason spun, guns drawn. The figure emerging from the green light made him falter.

Danny.

Jason blinked, the haze of rage momentarily thinning. He couldn’t trust his eyes, not after everything. But the way Danny looked at him—with love, pain, and something infinite in his glowing green eyes—cut through Jason’s defenses. “Jason,” Danny said softly, his voice trembling but steady. Jason lowered his guns, his shoulders slumping. “Danny?”

Danny stepped closer, his glowing cape billowing behind him. “It’s been twenty years.” Jason flinched. “Eight.” His voice cracked. “Only eight here.” Danny’s eyes softened. “It felt like forever.” Jason staggered back, shaking his head. “I’m not—” He gestured at the blood staining his armor. “I’m not who I was. You shouldn’t be here.”

Danny reached out but didn’t touch him, his hands hovering just inches away. “You’re still you, Jason. You’re still my husband.” Jason’s laugh was bitter, almost a sob. “You don’t understand. I’ve killed them. Joker. Riddler. Two-Face. There’s no redemption for me. I’ve left a trail of blood and bodies. I’m not the man you fell in love with. I’m not—”

“Stop,” Danny interrupted, his voice firm. “Stop telling me who you think you are. I know you. I’ve always known you.” Jason clenched his fists. “Would you still love me if you knew all I’ve done? The things I can’t take back? The lives I’ve destroyed?” Danny took a step forward, his expression raw with emotion. “Yes. I would. I do.” Jason’s knees buckled, and he sank to the ground, his hands covering his face. “I’ve tried to fight it, Danny. I’ve tried to be better, but the rage... it doesn’t stop. It’s like drowning, and every time I surface, there’s more blood.”

Danny knelt in front of him, his hand finally resting on Jason’s shoulder. “I know,” he said softly. “I’ve felt it too—the weight of things you can’t undo. But you’re not alone anymore. I’ve been waiting for you, Jason. Waiting for you to come back to me.” Jason’s breath hitched, and he looked up, his blue eyes rimmed with tears. “How can you still love me after everything? I’m not... I’m not the man you knew.”

Danny smiled, his own eyes glistening. “You’re still the man I fell in love with. You’re still the man who carved our initials into a tree in the Infinite Realms. The man who made me laugh, who promised me forever. And I meant it when I said forever, Jason. No matter where or when or what you’ve done, I’ll love you. Always.”

Jason let out a shuddering breath, and for the first time in years, the weight on his chest lightened. He leaned into Danny’s touch, the Pit Rage ebbing as warmth spread through him. Danny cupped his face, their foreheads touching. “You don’t have to carry this alone anymore. Let me help you. Let me love you.” Jason closed his eyes, his voice barely above a whisper. “I don’t deserve you.” Danny’s laugh was soft and full of love. “That’s for me to decide. And I’ve decided—over and over again—that I’ll always choose you.”

Jason’s arms wrapped around Danny, holding him tightly as if afraid he might disappear. But Danny held him just as firmly, grounding him, anchoring him. The green glow of the Infinite Realms pulsed around them, a quiet promise of redemption, of love that could weather even the darkest storms.

Danny didn’t leave Jason’s side that night, nor would he ever again. Together, they began the long, painful process of healing. The road ahead wasn’t easy, but they faced it together, their love, a beacon in the darkness.

The heroes would just have to get used to the unearthly presence of the Ghost King in their plane of existence. And no matter how much time passed, Danny knew one thing would never change: he would fall in love with Jason Todd, over and over again, for eternity.

idk if someone's said this before but July by American Murder Song is a very patfw-ish song. i can't pinpoint it exactly but a lot of it reminds me of cootstorm especially 's refusal to leave the territory but there's also the idea of going west, like the idea of leaving the territory and later moving further away from defiance, and the very last part of the song is reminiscent of Rainhaze to me, how he kills Asphodelpaw, and in doing that, kills his old self so to speak. just a thought

Oh, how did you know that I've been listening to 1816: The Year Without a Summer and specifically July on repeat for the past month? Are you reading my mind? Anyways, I do really love that song with Cootstorm, especially how the narrator curses everyone who is leaving and insists that he'll never leave this land. anyway wicked movie round three thoughts

i tried to pay more attention to musical motifs this time around and there are so many gut punches i was sitting there going oh fuck this over and over again. i can't wait to spend the next five years watching music analyses of this soundtrack i swear to god

i won't talk about sad glinda and the effigy again but i will talk about how glinda doesn't even look scared once she says elphaba was her friend. she's so immediately lost in the memories and her wistful smile as we start the flashback is e v e r y t h i n g

if you think ariana and cynthia crying through the entire press tour is ridiculous wait 'til you hear about me crying at the damn fish during the transition to shiz. it's just so magical okay! and glinda is so excited! and it makes me think of how hard book glinda worked to get to shiz, and idk man i just got swept away by the wonder and charm of a magic university alright god

i love the touch of glinda being like no, no way to pfannee and shenshen about the hat but then when elphaba shows up glinda specifically looks down at her sorcery books before deciding to give it to her. i love that silent tipping point in her decision

at the ozdust glinda says it's her heart's desire to become a sorcerer. elphaba giving glinda her heart's desire the way the wizard is supposed to (and not just now, but presumably i part two as well when she gives her the grimmerie)

also i think this movie has made me a fan of sentimental man. it's just so charming! like elphaba, i am not immune to a sweet little number about home and family and a sense of belonging

it's been said before but the betrayal scene in the palace truly is everything. elphaba is so hurt by it all. morrible's actions really do sting in this one (and michelle yeoh, hoooly hell, the switch from warm headmistress to intimidating head sorceress is so good)

idk man. it's just nice to know that i'll never be over this movie i think. after spending like 8 years building up unrealistic expectations about it i was still surprised and amazed and tbh 2024 has been so freaking disappointing, it's nice to know that this one thing was as close to perfect as it could have been (imo)

whooo I finished ep 4 and 5 of The Heart Killers

I still don't like Kant, I'm warming up to Bison, still obsessed with FadelStyle, and I want Style carnally.

I'm also really interested in how they're using the music and soundtrack to emphasize the emotions of some scenes.

This post is about to be longer than my usual since it's covering two eps but anyway

Spoilers under the cut !

Me when I overanalyze my BL:

First and foremost, that pat down scene in ep 4 where Fadel maintained eye contact with Kant as he searched him... How do u put that there and expect ppl to not imagine things, Jojo..... 😫 Even the goofy music in the background couldn't dissuade me from thinking they should hate fuck ☝️ but anyway

It's very obvious that while Style isn't fully committed and his feelings for Fadel are just starting to bloom, he definitely wants that man. Atp where we are in ep 4 he's obviously lusting after that man (face economy, body tea). I mean he gave him, apparently, the best sex of his life in a grief meeting storage room. He let the man cut his little crop top off. The lust of it all is so real. But I think now, after the chase, after spending more time with him, especially after hearing how Fadel was asking where he was, he's pursuing Fadel with more sincere intentions and I think he truly wants to know Fadel more. And lord have mercy, that scene in the woods.

That scene in the abandoned warehouse in the woods, aside from the iconic "I don't like that I miss you", is when I first noticed the soundtrack specifically highlighting the emotions. Now, I know soundtracks are meant to do that but I think they're doing it in a really fun way IDK They put a lighthearted cute, and low-key hopeful, little tune over a heated make out and handjob. It felt like it reflected their emotions in that moment really well and how the audience is meant to see the scene. It's not just a hot and heavy make out session because yay official, it's an indicator of a turning page, especially for Fadel. It's a signal that he can get butterflies in his stomach too, even with his enormous walls and stoic mask (defense mechanism), and I'm sticking to that interpretation. I love u my emotionally and sexually repressed little hitman.

And then Kant came in and decided NOW is the perfect time to finally tell his friend that oh yeah ur new bf is a hitman. It's not even that part that actually annoyed me, it's the little quip when Style says gunman instead of hitman. Like I'll kill u with a gun Kant. 😭

I fear I may never truly warm up to him, he is so annoying to me. 😔

Okay so ep 5, I kind of warmed up to Bison. He's cute he's fun, he's totally ignoring his instincts about Kant even tho he knows better. He seems less than helpful in most scenarios though, but whatever

There were two scenes that caught my attention and they were obviously meant to:

1) Kant and Bison post coital cuddles

2) Style and Fadel's intimacy towards the end of the ep

I'm mostly talking about the music again and the intentional use (or absence) of it. During the KantBison scene, when Bison is being so gentle with his kisses and telling Kant tender words, the music reaches a subtle crescendo once Bison says he feels like his life is changing since he met Kant and the camera lands right in Kant's distressed face. It was a great way to signal that Kant is gonna face the music very soon. I found that fun and I had to rewind a couple times just to make sure I wasn't making it up in my head. Could just be a transition sound choice, but I'm reading into it.

The KantBison scene felt like a big contrast next to the FadelStyle scene to me. At this point I think they're both feeling more than they're letting on for each other. Fadel and Style's night is, mostly, quiet. There's no backtrack for the most part. Fadel is splayed out in the bed just watching Style take his shirt off, exposing himself more than Fadel, and caging Fadel in by crawling on top of him. Style is on top of him kissing him, doing what he wants to, and Fadel is letting him. Style is telling Fadel that he wants to be trusted, he wants more from Fadel and he's willing to wait for him to be ready. He means it. And I know there's the component of this all starting for some car and Style now being aware of the reality of the situation but I think that's the point. That's the point of doing this specific scene with the absence of a backtrack until Style starts getting actually frisky. When Style is saying all of this and kissing Fadel's scar, we only listen to his words, their breathing, and their kisses. It's bare bones, but that's the point. To bare it all.

Did I read into that too much? Maybe! but idgaaaaffff. I'm eating this shit up and having fun dissecting things that maybe don't need dissecting. :P

I think it's obvious I'm more invested in FadelStyle than KantBison.... zorry! They put me-targeted drugs in FadelStyle. It's not my fault. 🧍

also random but he'd be such a trashy reality tv fan.... watching ALL of them with you... love island, jersey shore, housewives, dANCE MOMS, any other horrible netflix reality tv... like at first he scoffs at you for it, but then he does that dad stance. just standing and watching whatever you're watching, then finally after a few hours, he takes a seat next to you, fully immersed in the experience, not even letting YOU look at your phone, and he's sitting on the edge of the couch, staring at the tv like a man-possessed while critiquing the show and doing commentary like they can hear him.

the most "metal" he can listen to is literally fall out boy. (eddie keeps making fun of him for this. you are now sending metal songs to steve, day by day, trying to get him to like it, just so that eddie won't make fun of your poor angel bf anymore<3)

this is self-indulgent but he's a twilight fanboy through and through... team edward but he feels bad for jacob (sadly... you have an argument about this each time and once you bring up jacob claiming a baby he's dead silent), has a tradition w u to watch them every fall. he acts like he's seeing it for the first time each time u guys watch it.

likes harry potter (fuck jkr forever, u guys don't engage in the content and u 🏴‍☠️ both the movies n books:)) bc he grew up with the movies but if you're a harry potter nerd, he'd poke fun at THAT A LOOT. Rating the Broadway BMC soundtrack based on how fun it is to/ if you can do the macarena dance to it (literally no one asked for this 😭)

I made this cuz' me and my cast mates at my school will frequently do the macarena dance to songs while in the wings/or backstage (sometimes even while ON stage) . I've never been in a production of Be More Chill but I'm just judging based off experience and cuz I tested them 😭 (Yes, I did the macarena to all of these. My back hurts now but it was worth it for science). (Also, it's generally more fun to macarena to fast songs when your joking around backstage so yeah. That affected my rating too.) (Idk I was bored and sad and this came to mind so enjoy, I guess)

More Than Survive

9/10 pretty good. Very fast macarena but fun. And it’s honestly fun to do it during the slower parts like the Christine part. And Michael’s Bob Marley part works pretty well with it. Jeremy’s slow part near the end does not work for it 😭. But regardless, it’s pretty good

I Love Play Rehearsal

4/10 some parts have a steady beat enough to do it but there’s a lot of tempo changes and pauses so you can’t do it that consistently. The parts that you could macarena to, though, were fun, so yeah.

More Than Survive Reprise

6/10 Honestly I was surprised by this one. It worked more than I thought it would 😭. Pretty steady 4/4 time signature (I think, idk Im not a professional). Some pauses, but if you keep macarena-ing, it pretty much works.

SQUIP Song

 4/10 Fast to slow to fast macarena. I guess the original macarena is pretty slow anyways but I’m so used to doing it fast backstage, that I can’t imagine it would be the first dance to come to my head if the SQUIP song was on.

Two-Player Game

5/10 Ehh, I had high expectations for this one but it was kinda boring to do the macarena to 😭. But, I mean, it has a generally steady beat except for that slow part at the end. So yeah, it works but it’s not that entertaining

Be More Chill Part 1

3/10 Went from okay, to “no, this sucks”, and then it was pretty fun to macarena during the first part of “I saw it in the window…” but then it got bad again. So generally…not good.

Do you wanna ride?

6/10 Not too bad. Definitely not fun in the beginning cuz it’s too slow. But once it picks up, it works pretty well. The hip shimmy at the end of each macarena “set” (idk man 😭) goes well with this song actually. Made me giggle.

Be More Chill Part 2

5/10 Absolutely not in the beginning. But once things pick up, it’s alright. Kind of a snooze fest to do the macarena to cuz it’s kinda slow but it’s alright. Hurt me not to shimmy my shoulders during “You Wi-i-i-i-i-i-iL”.

6/10 Honestly, sorta fun 😭. Beat is pretty consistent and high energy. Also, it makes me realize that the songs with the “More Than Survive” like, motif, work pretty well for a fun, fast macarena 😭. Nothing too crazy but yeah. It’s good. (Side Note: I’m getting only slightly burned out by macarena-ing at this point)

6.8/10 Okay, this one, surprisingly, brought up my energy after macarena-ing to all these other damn songs. Like, it’s too slow at some parts but when it picks up, it’s lowkey kinda funny to do it and I could 100% imagine me and my castmates doing a dramatic macarena to this (There’s something about the sadder songs that are just more fun to do the macarena to idk).

Halloween

8.5/10 (I’m not gonna count the slow instrumental part in the beginning of this one cuz, like, it just transitions into, like, a whole completely different song so that doesn’t seem fair to include it.) Really fun. Could imagine myself macarena-ing on stage if I had the opportunity to. Especially during the dance break. I’m not surprised one of the big group dance number song works for this( when I did Beauty and the Beast, we would macarena so much as a joke during  “Be Our Guest”, that our director let Lumiere do it during the improv parts. This reminded me of that 😭😭).

Do You Wanna Hang

0.5/10 I sighed at the beginning of this one. Idk, I guess technically yeah you could, but it wouldn’t be consistent or fun. Especially considering the subject matter. Couldn’t imagine my castmates macarena-ing to this at all. It’s getting slightly higher than “The SQUIP Enters” cuz it’s an actual song but that is the only reason.

Michael in the Bathroom

(I did the Two Rivers one cuz I like that one better and I’m pretty sure the BPM is the same so yeah. idk. The rest are all broadway again.)

 10/10 Okay, wow. Next time I have a depressive episode, I am doing the macarena to “Michael in the Bathroom”. Like, oh my gosh, this was (weirdly) so f*cking fun 😭. Especially during the “Knock, knock..” part and the “I’m just Michael who’s a loner..” part. The slow parts aren’t too hard to do if you have good rhythm but yeah. As I said before, the sadder songs are really fun to macarena to. I could imagine me and my castmates doing the macarena to this. This song was weirdly cathartic to do this to. Was so fun I did it twice. 10/10. Would recommend it.

4/10 Again, I love this song but eh, not really. You sorta can, but it’s slow and you’d probably stop it after only a couple seconds. I could imagine me and my castmates doing the macarena to it, but, like I said, it wouldn’t last long without people getting bored.

The Smartphone Hour

5.5/10 Again, I had higher hopes for this one but it was just alright. Worked pretty well after the “Here we go!” part and was fun to do fast in the beginning, but there’s a fair amount of tempo changes or interruptions or pauses so you get tired/ bored easily. At least for me. I really love this song but ehhh… not for doing the macarena to. Idk. I’m losing my mind at this point.

The Pants Song

5/10 Too slow in the beginning to macarena😭And then when it picks up it feels a little too fast. Slightly overwhelming. Lowkey gave me anxiety to keep up. Idk

Pitiful Children

4/10 At the beginning I was like “oooo this works!” but then I got bored and also got a back cramp while doing it 😭😭. Idk. It’s alright. It’s repetitive, which I guess is how it should be for the macarena but, for me, the most fun part of doing the backstage macarena is having to adjust to the tempo just a little at times but not too much where it’s annoying or basically impossible. Hard to keep the energy up after a bit. This bored me eventually.

The Play

2.7/10 There is so much chaos going on during this 😭 Like, it’s fifty different reprises at once, I swear. Christine’s part is pretty fun and goofy to do it to, but everything else is mostly dialogue. I wanted to give it more points cuz Christine is in it but that didn’t seem fair so yeah.

5.8/10 I mean, ya know, it works for a majority of this song. Even some parts where Jeremy and Christine are talking. Gets a little too slow at one part. And then it’s way too fast to do the macarena at the end😭. So yeahhh. It’s a trip idk.

ok so I was listening to the wicker man soundtrack Again and you know me. I love to overthink. but I noticed something REALLY interesting in "the landlord's daughter," of all songs

so, there's a verse where they list a bunch of women, presumably prostitutes or innkeepers, and how they're not as sexy as the landlord's daughter (willow). you'll notice that none of these are plant names

as we know, everyone in summerisle is named after a plant. they're a very insular community, and they strictly adhere to their folk traditions. we see how much they integrate music into their daily lives and rituals. we also know that the cult is much more recent than it seems; lord summerisle's grandfather started it just a few generations ago. "the landlord's daughter" is a diegetic piece of music, and it's presented as a folk song that everyone in the tavern knows. but the fact that it includes names that don't sound like the ones people use in summerisle implies a few things. either it predates the plant name tradition, or it came from outside summerisle; they do business with the mainland, so maybe that's how the song came there? idk it's interesting to think about

2. Was it love at first sight? Absolutely not. Mel is 5 years older than her, so she was still in middle school/junior high at the time. HOWEVER when they ran into each other again (he was 30, she was 25) She thought he was the finest man in the club!

3. If it was not love at first sight, how and when did they know it was love? He knew it was love when she consistently showed up for him during one of the heaviest moments of his life (his divorce). She knew it was love the way he consistently showed up for her during hers (her pregnancy).

4. What feature(s) do they find most attractive about their partner? For him, it's her hands and her eyes. For her, it's his ears and lips.

5. What traits / personality aspects do they like most about their partner? He loves that she's Hot-Headed and how Ambitious she is. She loves how Family Oriented and Proper (Polite/Courteous) he is. They ended up at Myshuno Meadows Park. It was in his truck, Anita Baker's "Whatever It Takes" provided the soundtrack to the moment He realized that he was developing some deeper feelings for her. They were having a heart to heart conversation about life and it was the way she turned to look at him that made him slowly lean over, look her deeper in her eyes, and asked if he could kiss her. 😩

20. Where would they go on their honeymoon or dream vacation? A resort in Selvadorada, a cabin in Mt. Komorebi, or a nice little bed & breakfast in Magnolia Promenade. Anything with a good view & good food!

21. Do they have any children? Do they want any? Yes, they have a daughter together and he has 2 daughters with his ex-wife. Yes, he wants more. She is neutral about having more (she's ok if they do & ok if they don't)

22. What is their favourite thing to do together? Cook. He loves to try new recipes that he saw on the Cooking Channel. She's currently in her baking era and he loves doing that with her (most times he is just licking everything...but he is learning a thing or two...about baking)

24. Do they have a song? They have two actually, Anita Baker "Whatever It Takes" & Stevie Wonder "For Your Love"

25. Do they have any pet names / nicknames for each other? She calls him "Papa" and he calls her "Love" or "Moo" (which was her childhood nickname)

26. Are they jealous? She is...VERY VERY jealous. He isn't.

27. Is this a first relationship for either of them? Nope. He's been married before and had "little flings" in his younger years. She's had one serious relationship before this, aside from her "puppy love" jr high/high school relationship.

28. How do they show affection for each other? Cuddles, hugs, kisses, massages...random acts of service (is her love language) and physical touch (is his).

29. How do they cheer their partner up when they’re sad? She let's him lay his head on her chest while they talk & she rubs his head/ears, until he falls asleep (which he does damn near every time and he wakes up in a better mood). He cuddles with her/lets her cry it out on his chest or tries to crack jokes (depending on how sad she is/what's going on).

30. Is either of the partners a ‘hopeless romantic’? After really looking at what the term means...Yes, Papa most definitely is! 🥺 Has the Soulmate Aspiration & Romantic trait to prove it! Lol.

I honestly think he would have tried to make his first marriage work (even though she had a baby on him with someone else) but it was the fact that the baby was by one of his closest friends that fucked him up the most. Yes, he was fucked up that the baby wasn't his in general BUT he knew that during their earlier years of the relationship he wasn't shit (and had stepped out on her several times, one of which resulted in a pregnancy scare of the other woman). Which is also why ex-wife was in disbelief that he was actually going through with the divorce. They've been through A LOT together and she knows how Family Oriented he is and how much he values marriage. That was one of the main reasons why he was going through it during the divorce because he never wanted to (1) go through a divorce but (2) have his kids not have both their parents under one roof. He dreamed of having that happy family with one woman. Hence why now He is doing EVERYTHING in his power to be with/make things work between him & Monet. He believes in love and soulmates and the whole "til death do us part" (and I really love that about him).

okay i listened to the thunder saga a tad bit belatedly yesterday and!! i think it's so interesting how the only thing odysseus was prepared for was the only thing that we weren't

like, i realized it was the sirens before odysseus said, "ha, i know you're sirens!" but it still didn't click for me until halfway through "suffering," when odysseus was asking her the question. (i thought he was hallucinating. i thought the "daughter" line meant he was dreaming about a life he coulda-shoulda had with penelope raising their family idk man.)

i also had to pause the song for about thirty seconds to wave my arms around in the backseat of the car and go "!!!!! SIRENS!!!!!!" literally couldn't say anything else for a minute bc it was just !!! sirens!!! idk i thought it was so awesome i was so excited

on a different note: i love how the underworld saga set up the thunder saga! like, "monster" was spooky and foreshadowy and a banger of a closing act song, but it was pretty tame compared to "different beast." like .... goddamn. "different beast" fucking terrified me. that shit was SCARY!! it was horrifying.

the thunder saga also made me realize something again, something i've always really known to be true: how little we can actually see. this is such an interesting thing to me! like, when listening to a musical soundtrack, you miss a lot. it's one of my personal favorite experiences to listen to a musical soundtrack for the first time with no idea what's going on or who's who. and tbh (i'm verbally processing here) i'm kind of realizing how little i /watch/ musicals, particularly in comparison to other musical fans i see on tumblr? like, i've been to three professional musicals in my life (newsies, music man, and les mis), i haven't watched a whole lot of bootlegs, mostly because i don't have the patience ... and you lose a lot when you JUST listen to the soundtrack. so it's kinda cool to me that right now, the soundtrack is all we have. (it's kinda like paris except way more popular ......... if you like musicals based on homer go listen to paris it's so much fun please—) anyways point being, it feels like there's a lot of visual stuff that you miss in the thunder saga. maybe it's more than in the others, or maybe it just particularly stood out to me, not sure.
