My contribution to the Tumblr System!! He’s not technically a blanet, but he orbits the same stellar black hole and plays a similar role in the system to a blanet… maybe he’d be considered an unofficial blanet? Idk man... Idea from @finligz and @just-call-mefr1es!!!! Lots of extra yapping under the cut

So we all know planet X right? There's a theory that instead of being caused by a planet, the gravitational anomalies we've detected that led us to believe there may be a 9th planet could also be caused by a very small black hole! This idea was spawned from that. A primordial black hole is essentially a black hole formed at the very beginning of the universe, less than a second after the big bang. They are currently only hypothetical as detecting something so small thats also basically invisible is understandably very difficult. Having formed at the beginning of the universe, he wasn't always a part of the Tumblr system. He spent a good 10 billion years just hurtling though space before he accidentally got a little too close to the Tumblr Black hole and got caught in it's gravity. Whoopsies. He also may or may not have killed 2 blanets (I've dubbed them Lethe and Coeus) when he joined the system. And nobody knows it was him, or that he even exists, because it just looks like those blanets slowly shrunk and disappeared. Whoopsies x2. I put "yesn't" for the moons because while he does have natural satellites, he isn't technically a blanet, and only blanets/planets can have moons. More than 40 asteroid sized objects, along with two larger objects, orbit him. These objects consider themselves moons despite not technically being such. The two larger and colored "moons" are what remains of Lethe and Coeus. If they were to scale, they'd be multiple magnitudes larger than him, probably around the size of a moon like Mimas or Proteus. The symbol he "stole" is just Coeus and Lethe's symbols mashed together.

Nu is the greek god of everything prior to primordial chaos, aka nothingness. Lethe is the greek personification of forgetfulness, and Coeus is a greek figure representing inquisitiveness. All his "moons" hate his ass. Two of them are basically ghosts of blanets he literally killed, and the rest of them were once independent asteroids. So basically, none of his "moons" formed naturally, and all of them are doomed to die a slow death via tiny spaghettification. They are understandably NOT HAPPY.

Despite being roughly watermelon-sized, he has a mass equivalent to like. At least 5 Jupiters. Crazy bro. The aphelion of his orbit is basically as far as you can get from Tumblr without drifting off into space. His perihelion is considerably closer, but is likely still tens of times further out than the last blanet. Eccentric orbit moment. Having been captured rather than formed in the Tumblr system, he orbits in a very different plane than the rest of the gang. Since he was born at the beginning of the universe, he's incredibly wise. Unfortunately, he's also kind of comically evil, and will probably never share that wisdom with you. I could yap even more, I've thought up so much lore + thought a bunch about how this entire stellar black hole system would scientifically work, but I'll save it for another time. ayo! hello [and sorry, tumblr is whack] but thank you for this sweet ask, anon. my advice is to find what you like, the things that make you happy, and trace 'em! the motto i use is 'trace to learn, not to earn' it's not cheating, we're not in school, art is supposed to be fun.

don't be afraid to use a bunch of different references and mash them together to fit what you see in your head. it's called photo-bashing and a lot of artists do it, it's super helpful.

take characters or objects that you like and break 'em down to their essential parts to find out why they look like that.

look up how-to art videos on youtube/skillshare/vimeo [click the photo above for a good article] and go to the ones with the most 'likes' instead of the ones with the most views, people are more likely to 'like' if the video actually helped them.

keep a sketch book and show no one. make it a secret just for you. doodle in it - doesn't have to be good, doesn't have to be done. having a little post-it journal can get you used to being fluid and it's a great warm-up habit.

also, i know the fear you're talking about but i promise there is some really incredible stuff on the other side of it. if you need encouragement, i run an 18+ art discord where we hype each other up, post resources, and do art challenges. best of luck, friend!

It was a weird feeling the first time someone recognized me, or I did a signing and people were there. The first time it really kicked it was we were about to go out and do like an off topic at rtx or something, and it was very shortly after I had been pulled in as part of the main cast and the crowd started to chant "lil j" for no reason and it was so weird.

Q: If you could have one thing behind you while your stream what would it be? A: A neon sign- You know those neon signs that depending on what colors light up its a different image? Right? I want one that pertains to what alcohol I'm drinking at the time.

LONG STORY SHORT YES!!!

and if its okay i would like to take you all on a journey through my creative process that took. like. a month cause im slow

so when i first started brainstorming i basically took a bunch of my favorite elements of various wukongs and mashing them together

obviously this doesnt look good but thats the point!! its for me to slap shit on the wall and see what sticks

then i was like hrrmmgggg maybe change fur color? so i did

and i made him pink cause i said so.

but now the issue is his color scheme. i had to choose my favorite clothing designs while also letting some go and i really liked the idea of wukong not knowing how to dress so i gave him a robe a couple sizes too big (also was inspired by 1986 wukong!)

during this phase i had 3 ideas grounded

1. long! hair! wukong!

2. 86 wukong’s tiger pelt!!!

3. make him covered in fur completely.

i was still kinda ehhhh about the pink skin cause i felt like it just made his eyes look like he was scalded alive.

but here i basically decided to reallllyyyy tone down his color scheme so its mostly greys and blacks cause i wanted his robe and face to pop. also funny how he went from a yellowish fur to green grey but what can you do.

however. there was one thing i still wasnt happy with

his hair length.... simply didnt hit as hard as i wanted it to. so guess what i did

fucking. MAKE IT A MANE NOW THERES A WUKONG I CAN GET BEHIND. 500 YEARS UNDER A MOUNTAIN WILL MAKE YOUR HAIR OVERGROWN AS HELL

i also made his tiger pelt a sort of 2 piece (IDK THE ACTUAL TERMJDIDJIDJ) so i replaced his cloth with a sort of tiger scarf

and may i say. the vibes are excellent. i finally had a wukong i was happy with :) unfortunately i had to ditch the pink skin to make his eyes look red but i like it much more like this!

Oooh yay! Okay so she’s not actually mine — she was created by @hopefullypessimistic84 , who I always have read over anything I use Julia in for characterization consistency — and I’m sure Hope will have more to add but here’s what I’ve got!

First off, for those of you who have no idea what we’re talking about: Hope found a camper in one of the old photos and adopted her, and now she is one of my favorite characters ever. She shows up pretty frequently in my writing bc I love her.

Anyway! Here’s a bunch of random shit — some of it was invented by Hope, some of it is my hcs (can you have hcs of an oc version of an extra? Idk but I did it) — and I hope someone finds it mildly entertaining:

She met David and Jasper in their first summer at camp, so they’re all about the same age; if anything she might be a year or so younger but it’s all quite close, and I imagine they went through the same years in school.

She doesn’t live near David — if we’re placing him up in Canada she’s somewhere in a relatively large city near the American border. Depending on if you put Camp Campbell on the east coast (my hc) or the west (what it probably actually is), she most likely grew up in NYC or Seattle.

She’s more like Jasper than David: not super bubbly, not all that into nature, and very suspicious of anything Campbell related.

I’m pretty sure she’s an only child, but it doesn’t matter because she adopted David and Jasper as her brothers and 1000% thinks of herself as their sister.

She’s an ace lesbian, and somewhere on the butch spectrum. Depending on my mood she’s either a fat leather butch or a tiny elfin tomboy, but no matter what she’s short and has a motorcycle jacket.

Actually it’s spoilers but who cares because it’ll take me forever to get there: she’s actually going to fall in love with another OC, this time one I made up! She meets Gwen’s sister Audree through incredibly awkward in-law interactions, because Hope and I decided to mash our OCs together. Their relationship is a little ….complicated, because they’re so dissimilar, but it works.

I’m pretty sure Julia ends up being a professional photographer. She lives in (see city mentioned in #2) but travels a lot for her job. What kind of photos???? Uhhhhhhhh no idea; my brain is thinking like corporate somehow, or real estate? Something more practical than artistic, but Hope would probably know for sure and I don’t know dick about photography.

Her job and long distance means she doesn’t get to see David (or Jasper, if it’s an AU where he lives) a lot, but she keeps them all in touch with the aggressive tenacity of a bulldog.

She’s very colorful and generous with her profanity.

If you hurt someone she loves she will kill you and no one will ever find your body.

She is made of sarcasm and a surprising amount of rage.

She grew up extremely poor (not sure what the family situation is but I feel like it was a 1-parent household), so even though she ended up being very successful she still carries a lot of trauma and mindset from spending her childhood not having enough to really get by. (This is probably the major cause of content with Audree, who grew up rich and then got richer.)

I don’t remember what we were thinking about Jules’ grown-up haircut, but her natural color is definitely purple.

She calls David Davey, Sunshine, and Red. I don’t know what she’d call Jasper and Gwen.

She probably stopped going to Camp Campbell after Jasper died, either as her own choice or because her parent(s) pulled her out of it, but as an adult she does make a point to visit David there at least once a summer on the anniversary of his death. (Listen we came up with this before we found out what happened to Jasper; cut us some slack here re: canon.)

She didn’t grow out of her pop-punk-emo phase, she grew into it.

I don’t know if she actually rides a motorcycle or just likes the look, but I like to think she at least bought one.

Nothing makes her flustered except pretty girls.

I don’t think she reads that much, but I could see her being a movie buff. Though tbh I really see her as whatever you’d call someone super into music.

1. How did you get into graphics / gif making I started making gifs in 2015 because, while I tried my hand at writing fic, I ultimately found it... idk, not fulfilling, and I wanted a different way to contribute to fandom. I'm not very good at drawing, so I thought, why not try making gifs? I remember thinking how cool it was that people could do that and make them look so neat, so I decided to try it out for myself and I've never looked back. I really enjoy doing it!

2. Do you do something creative/related “irl” as well? I do not! This is purely a hobby of mine and I'm unlikely to do anything with it in the real world lol. I move boxes around in arctic conditions and stab people with needles for a living. 🥴

10. What graphics / gif trends do you dislike most? idk if there's any trends I particularly dislike, though I suppose there are some things I get bored with seeing (like the gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss thing, as an example). But it's more like I just get tired of seeing it, not necessarily that I dislike it.

11. What graphics / gif trends do you like most? I haven't seen as much of them lately but I really enjoy the cool like color-coded collages people have been doing for different series. It's just a really neat concept and I like collages in general. There's a nice visual appeal to breaking out of tumblr's 1/2/3 column default. lol I also understand how much work goes into those so I just find them impressive in general.

26. Give a graphic and or gif maker a quick tip! In general, and this might just be an OCD thing of mine, but I always recommend trying to cater your gifs to how they will look on the tumblr desktop dashboard whenever possible. I mainly point this one out in particular because I have seen quite a few sets recently where half the gifs won't load or won't move (but they will on mobile or on a tumblr user's actual page). I struggled with this issue on one of my recent sets and it was just a matter of deleting a few frames to get the gif working on the dashboard like it's supposed to. I know when I see smth where half the set isn't even working, it doesn't make me feel inclined to reblog it (which makes me feel bad cuz I wanna support everyone asfdhdfh). idk if it's just a bandwidth issue or what. The limit is 10MB but sometimes toeing that line will make or break whether that gif works or not. I try to always keep my gifs 9.5MB or less for this reason.

And I know this only warrants for a single tip, but unrelated to tumblr dashboard stuff, sharpening and surface blur can do WONDERS for the quality of your gifs! I recommend looking into these processes if you aren't sure how to do them already.

28. Advice for any beginner graphic / gif makers? Don't stress too much about how well your gifs look in comparison to more seasoned gif/gfx makers! I used to do this so much when I first started and it always made me feel really down about what I was creating. The point is just to have fun, first and foremost. You will learn things over time! Never be afraid to ask a gif/gfx maker about how they do things or what tools they use, I think most of us are willing to help! Look up tutorials, find resources that will help you enhance your gifs. Experiment with adjustment layers, patterns, overlays. Absolutely feel free to take inspo from others and mash together a bunch of different styles to form your own unique way of doing things. As long as you aren't making your creations a carbon copy, I think most of us like to see when we're inspiring other creators! It took years for me to figure out how to get my gifs the quality that they are - it's a process! Just enjoy learning new things and applying them to the things you already know. <3

34. Gif makers, how many frames do you import? (And why!) It really depends! I import videos into Photoshop directly and the little slider has set points where it lets you cut the part of the video file you want to work with, so most of the time I pull more frames than I need and have to delete the stuff around the shot I'm trying to gif. I try to get the entire shot whenever possible, so the amount of frames absolutely varies. Though, in general, I think I average anywhere between 80-150 frames on a regular basis. I've managed to get as many as over 300 frames in a single gif before though. LOL

and he’d try to reach out to his mom but she’s honestly off in her own world and she loves pretending everything’s fine sdjksk it’s a lil dark but it’s FINE

so i think for the sake of keeping the family intact he played along for a little and was basically his dad’s puppet for his junior/senior year of hs

but he dropped out last minute and moved to new york to start his music career all by himself fun :-)

oooooh yay!! descriptions are my strong suit!!! ik how to help with this :))) honestly i could ramble f o r e v e r about descriptions [future izzy note: i kinda did lmao], but i’ll start with some advice that your artist brain might be able to work with. 

for visual descriptions - y’know how you have to be conscious of the colors you use and how they work together, and the shapes you make, and the way your lines flow when you’re making a piece? try breaking apart the composition of the image in your head into words the reader will understand. think of it as trying to do a tumblr image description, at first.  as you get the hang of it more, you can add more of the protagonist’s personality to the descriptions.

ex: think of how it would be more in-character for dex to describe sophie in a very analytical, no-nonsense way with a bunch of quantitative observations and cause-and-effect lines of thinking, but it would probably be more in-character for biana to describe sophie with whimsical metaphors you’d find in poetry. example of the example: dex would probably find his subconscious counting the worry lines between sophie’s eyebrows and the tired creases under her eyes and wonder about what specific things caused them to be there, but biana would probably notice how the gold flecks in her eyes came fairly close to matching the color of her hair and muse about sophie being the personification of the golden hour. or something like that.

for descriptions that have to do with other senses, such as touch or taste - think of other things that already exist that are similar to/have components of what you’re trying to describe, and then mash them together. and if there’s something that associations just can’t convey, add in your little clarification(s). this works with visual stuff too, but i thought the artsy advice might click a bit better in your brain.

example of how this could present itself, continuing with the dex and biana and sophie example: say sophie’s wearing human gloves, and offers it to the pov character. i highly doubt dex nor biana have experience with human gloves in canon, so they’re gonna have to resort to breaking it down with association. this is where it’s important to think of the limits of a character’s knowledge, and their past experiences. biana’s fashionista brain would probably start trying to run through materials the gloves could possibly be made of based off of texture. and maybe even sewing methods the designer used, based on whether or not they’re bunched up and stuff. (idk. i’m not a designer, don’t ever plan to be one either.) on the other hand, there’s a chance that dex’s rambley tendencies would make him (internally) go ‘oh huh yeah they’re a bit scratchier than i’m used to, but what they really remind me of are protective cushions that immobilize your hand. and the time that the triplets tried to trap me in the collapsed ruins of a pillow fort. hey, could i make a gadget based off of these? oooh, or maybe i could sneak some forcefield tech in the fabric-?’

for emotional descriptions - emotions are always tricky to describe when you don’t automatically have a knack for it. but there’s two good ways to go about detailing them: cause and effect (and vice versa. it’s actually a bit more interesting when you do figure out the cause by looking at the effects, sometimes), or show not tell. emotional descriptions always rely on association with senses and/or past experiences the protagonist has had. so you wanna make sure you’ve at least got a decent grasp on sense-based visuals before you try going all out on emotional descriptions. using body language cues is one of my favorite ways to let the reader in on the emotional side of a situation, highly recommend. i’m also a huge fan of hyperboles and metaphors and personification and stuff in writing, so. feel free to use as many of those as you want, as long as it feels right to the scene!

aight i know all of these need examples in order to make sense, but this one’s definitely the most extreme case of that. so we’ll have plenty of extra examples below :))

we’re gonna switch out the example scenario for something new, though, since i feel like family angst is a lot easier to identify descriptions of than family fluff. or maybe that’s just my (resolved as can be) daddy issues and estranged-half-brother-that-was-dear-to-my-heart-when-i-was-little stuff talking. it’s ok though, we’re both queer and queer people seem to be incapable of not having baggage at some point so i’m sure you’ll get the message lol

let’s say alvar and biana unexpectedly cross paths at some point in the future when no one else is around. think of the emotions the two of them could be feeling at that point. personally, i’m thinking anxiety, dread, distrust, confusion, and maybe some bittersweet sprinkles of curiosity and hope and relief. now, how can we show that in a detailed way?

(reverse?) cause and effect could possibly go something like this: if this encounter had been from when they were both a bit younger, the only things cutting across alvar’s face would be creases of unease and dappled shadows from the trees above. if this had been from when they were a lot younger, the hands clenched into defensive fists at his sides would be lifting her up and spinning her around; the hard neutral line of his mouth would be split into a wide grin. but they weren’t younger. they were too old for innocence, and the jagged, dark, angry scars carved through alvar’s face and arms were more than enough to prove it.

idrk if i did the best job at demonstrating this one, sorry. but it’s more about the thought process than the final product that matters here, if you ask me. the key to cause and effect descriptions is that you take the picture of the scene in your head, along with other relevant sensory details, and think about the why behind those details that are there, and/or think about how the emotions you’re trying to convey could show through the senses or through metaphors and all the other fun literary tricks i mentioned earlier (hyperboles, personification, etc). with this example i wrote i was thinking about chronological connections - ‘alvar and biana were probably close when they were younger, but in the later events of canon both of them got scarred (mentally and physically) by the neverseen, which turned them into different people that didn’t click anymore’. toying around with the order you mention things happening in, as long as you tie it all together cohesively at the end, makes a solid emotional description :)

on the other hand, show not tell could probably go something like this: maybe it was just biana, but time seemed to slow to a sluggish crawl to let them drink each other in. drink in all the jarring changes, and all the things that stayed the same in a way that stung her eyes. wrap her head around the way his mouth used to smile at the sight of her, but was now flattened into a hard neutral line. comprehend the way the hands she remembered picking her up and spinning her around with all the care in the world as a kid were now clenched into defensive fists at his sides. 

with this method, you’re really just making the reader find the causes of the effects. i’m giving them sensory and body language clues, in this context - alvar used to smile at the sight of biana, now he doesn’t; alvar used to pick her up and spin her around as a kid, now he keeps them to himself. the reader’s smart enough to figure out the people not smiling at you anymore means you’re not on as good of terms as you used to be. the reader’s smart enough to see that the way alvar keeps cautious distance from her, when he used to come close the distance and (metaphorically and literally) raise her up, means that they’ve had a fallout. and they’re smart enough to figure out that the sting in biana’s eyes are from tears, and they’re definitely not happy tears. but the little details put together paint a more vivid mental picture than something like ‘it was clear alvar had changed, and it almost made biana cry’, don’t you think?

but!!! please please make sure you’re not going for too many descriptions. too many will utterly destroy your pacing. an example of going too far with descriptions would be slowing everything to a stop to describe a truly boring shopping trip that doesn’t matter to the plot. stuff like that is when you take the simple, straightforward ‘dad went to the grocery store - and yes, he did come back in less than ten years. moving on...’ route.

tl;dr: there’s a lot of ways you can describe things effectively to the reader, most of the best methods relying on sensory details, fun literary tricks like hyperboles and metaphors and stuff, and good characterization. but make sure you only describe the stuff that’s important to the plot, so you don’t get too-frilly-to-understand prose and bad pacing.

squish i just looked into where candleshade is on the map vs where shores of solace is on the map and my brain's been thinkin' that candleshade was in australia (because everyone was going crazy over keefe being australian when the unlocked map first dropped) and shores of solace was in hawaii because of a line sophie drops about the black sand but. the wiki. says that shores of solace is... off the west coast of canada?? and i immediately thought of a fedex fic you wrote where you said in the author's notes somewhere that rimeshire is canonically in west canada, if i recall correctly? so yeah keefe being canadian made me think of you. and dex and keefe are canadian besties now :)

But i do have some thoughts because i'm a geography nerd.

The proportions on the canon map are kinda funky but i feel like dex is canadian and the placement of rimeshire being north of alaska/the yukon territory of canada just makes this more supported by canon.

I'm looking at the map right now and /candleshade/ is the one off the west coast of canada, while the shores of solace is in australia

So it looks like candleshade is probably in the gulf of alaska, and you can see the little alaskan islands along british colombia, canada's west coast to candleshade's east. I think that little triangular one off the coast of approximately oregon is supposed to be vancouver island (which doesn't actually have the city of vancouver on it and i am endlessly angry about this)

Meanwhile the shores of solace is pretty firmly in australia. The black sands you mention are actually something that can happen outside of hawai'i, as it's just a sign that the island came from a volcanic source. (Compare st.lucia sand with barbados sand in the caribbean. St lucia is volcanic in origin while barbados is limestone iirc) i'm not really sure how that works with australia, as most continents are made up of sedimentary rock. So not volcanic. It's also on the wrong side to be pacific ring of fire so i'm not really sure what's going on here.

For fic purposes, i think keefe could have grown up in either juneau/skagway/ketchikan/somewhere vaguely around there in alaska or victoria/vancouver/vaguely over there in british colombia, canada. Just depending on what you want to do. And then they have a vacation house in like perth or smth.

Just something to keep in mind with the canadian/alaskan decision: if it's keefe's pov, canadian english is very similar to british english except it does have some american english influences so make sure to check out lukemastin's canadian english dictionary. It's what i used to help me write dex in kotlp (keeper of the lost prepositions). Also keep in mind that canadian accents do get leas distinct the further west you go, so it's not gonna be the OOt like you'd get in toronto. It's a much subtler oot.

I also think alaskans do a bit of canadian raising (the technical term for the oot) because i can hear it a little bit when i watch molly of denali...which is a pbs kids show. It's fine. I'm fine.

Also: if you'd like to use this as an opportunity to incorporate a little bit of alaskan/canadian native culture, definitely check out the totem poles. There are only six nations that made them originally and unfortunately i can't remember them all but it's definitely interesting. But i understand you're on a tight schedule as is, if that kind of research isn't your top priority, it's fine. I just have that stored in my brain for...reasons.

There are snacks but we're not super hungry yet, but we're all sharing it together and there's just enough for everyone. Then we go out and do a good deed, like maybe take a homeless man for lunch, and I can tip the waitress $200 and I'm not worried about it, it feels like the right thing, and we feel good about ourselves and for a moment the world doesn't seem like a bad place and we've just made someone's day. I have some fries and listen to the guys story, and they smile wide when the food arrives and we order seconds and they eat to their heart's content. We take them to a barber after then, and get them an appropriate outfit for the interview they're about to go to that will change their life. It's a success, and we ride that happiness all the way home, where we relax on the couch again with another group of friends and there's pizza and all the right drinks for everyone and we watch a movie that everyone loves (it's probably Wonder Woman tbh, only this time it's gay, and we all love it). I probably dose off because it's been a long day but I wake up at about 11 and I feel well rested, and I missed the sunset but it's ok, my friends enjoyed it and there are photos, and we stay up talking about our feelings until I see the sun rise. I fall asleep in someone's arms. A Native American is president and trump never was. The world is alright.

I made a voltron sky high boku no hero academia AU! I’ll put all their powers and outfit designs notes under cut in case you can’t read my handwriting. Feel free to use these designs and idea, just credit me and either @ me or msg me that way I can see whatever you make. However, please ask before reposting the above artwork.

Okey lets start with all my long convoluted explanations.

Allura: 

Power: She can sense, drain, and replenish energy. I chose this cause she restores the Balmara’s energy, and her arc has a lot to do with “healing” (recovering from the death of her people). I didn’t want to give her a straight up healing quirk though, so I decided to have her be able to both heal and steal energy.

Outfit: Her outfit is pretty basic, I tried to mash her dress and wonder woman’s outfit and added a cape. She has a little tube thing with a button on it that, when pressed, turns it into a staff. She uses this to fight when she has to, but avoids actual physical conflict as much as possible. It attaches to her belt.

Other stuff: I designed so that she just graduated (around 17-18) and is a sidekick to a hero, but is planning to go solo soon due to overwhelming public support. She also interns at Altea Academy, the school she went to and that her father runs. 

Shiro:   

Power: He was born without a power, but after capture by the evil organization GALRA he was given an artificial quirk. He is now able to manipulate metal, and usually metal bends his arm into a weapon to fight.

Outfit: He has a mask that he usually wears, and of course the metal arm. His markings on his outfit don’t mean much, they’re more of a reference to voltron’s colors and look cool. The purple sleeve covering his non-robot arm is also more for style.

Other stuff: I’ve been playing around with a bunch of ideas for him. I think he should start off as a police investigator, he wants to help people and set a good example for his adopted brother Keith. He learns something he shouldn’t when investigating GALRA, and the GALRA capture him and use him as a test subject. After a person from the Blade of Marmora (a vigilante organization) saves him, I think he either joins the vigilantes, or becomes a librarian or smth at Altea Academy to hide from GALRA.

Lance:

Power: He has xray vision (or something that gives him good vision to see what others can’t). I also thought about giving him water/ice powers but I decided against that because it was too obvious and didn’t give me something to fill my sniper Lance cravings. Basically when he uses his power he gets a light blue sheen over his eyes and his pupil turns neon blue. When using them he can see vitals of other people, things far away, or just see a person’s body parts and internal organs.  

Outfit: He has a pair of pilot goggle that belonged to his late grandfather, he wears them for style, to protect his eyes, and to help keep others from realizing where hes looking.He has two handguns and a sniper rifle, he attaches them to his belt. He also has a bunch of pouches holding ammo. He has a breastplate under his jacket to help protect him, he did it to appease his worried mom. I like to think his mom and little sister helped design the outfit, while his dad and older siblings helped him make the guns.

Other stuff: He has a huge family, but was the first to develop a power. His family was ecstatic when he said he wanted to be a hero, and are very supportive. He just barely missed the cutoff for Altea Academy’s hero course, but is still in the general studies course and in the same class as Shay. Keith and him were in the same class at Garrison middle school, but didn’t get along. After Keith got into the hero course when he didn’t, the animosity grew even if he didn’t intend to take his frustrations out on him.

Hunk:

Power: He can reinforce other objects. He is a strong boi and helps others, so I thought more of a support skill would suit him. Of course, he can fuck up some bitches when he needs to, but usually he creates shields etc. using his power.

Outfit: He also has some pouches to hold stuff. To fight, usually he reinforces his gloves and throws some heavy punches.

Other Stuff: he also tried out and didn’t make it into the hero course. He took it much better than Lance though, and is an engineer in the support course. He and Lance are neighbors and childhood friends.

Edge Lord Keith:

Powers: He can manipulate flames. He can also make them, but it drains a bunch of his energy so he usually carries a lighter, and increases the flames intensity. After a few incidents, he started focusing his flames on either his blade or sword rather than let them needlessly burn everything.

Outfit: All his clothes are frayed, and he has a bunch of flame designs to match his birthmark.He has two sheaths: 1 carrying his katana, and the other carrying his blade. Very edgy.

Other Stuff: He is the adopted bro of Shiro. he has a flame birthmark. His mom was a vigilante in the blade of marmora, and gave him her proof of membership (the blade) before she was murdered by a double agent GALRA. He and Lance went to Garrison middle school together, they got into a bunch of stupid arguments, and Keith had a bit of an attitude, so they didn’t get along. Keith sorta regrets it and wants to apologize but he also thinks that would be p awkward so he’s conflicted. Shiro getting captured made him want to be a hero.

Pidge:

Power: She can combine items to make new stuff. Thats p much all there is too it. I chose it based off her episodes on the forest planet where she made stuff with that headband thing. 

Outfit. That screen goggle thing can show her possible item combinations and their results. Her breast plate has a battery powering that, the knobs don’t do anything yet, but shes planning on adding a speaker system to her outfit to rickroll her enemies. I didn’t draw her a weapon, but she can pretty much make a weapon whenever she needs one. Eventually she probably will get one similar to her weapon in the show.  

Other Stuff: She was always plannig on joing Altea Academy’s support class but decided to do the hero course test too cause why not. She did better than she thought, but didn’t get in. IDK whats going on with Matt, I think he was either captured along with Shiro, never left, or smth else.

Random Stuff:

Altea Academy is basically UA academy from BNHA

Lance, Pidge, and Hunk are all moved to hero course after shenanigans

Alfor is principal of Altea Academy

IDK how lions play in to this, I think it could be something like Lance, Keith, Pidge, and Hunk being designated “call when people attack” squad (aka Voltron).

Keith, Hunk, and Lance are 15-17, Pidge is a year or two younger than them (she was moved up a few grades). Shiro is around 5 years old than Keith, at least 18 to be police investigator.

All BOM members are vigilantes, most used to be GALRA

A vigilante killed Allura’s mom, she doesn’t trust them. 

GALRA are after something at Altea academy, a secret, Alfor’s head, a student’s quirk, idk theres a bunch of stuff there to want.

I tried to make Shiro’s mask look like a lions face but without details and stuff. Just imagine its a lion mask.

If you can’t tell, Keith is biracial (half asian, half white) and Shiro is Japanese. I suck at skin tones.

I think I might make this a fanfiction, but please feel free to use any of this stuff. Again, credit me. And please please please message me if you write or draw anything for this AU, I would seriously cry of joy if anyone drew something for this small little AU.

What made you decide to make your blog: Okay, it’s hilarious to think about. I was looking up Wes Weston because I kept seeing his name in fics and was wondering, “who the heck is Wes?” literally. So I see a link to this place called Tumblr and find Wes posts and become intrigued. Next thing I know, I make an account to look at more Wes Weston posts. 

So yes, Wes Weston was what brought me to Tumblr. It wasn’t until Phanniemay that I was active though.
