YESS! the first book was beautiful but i was so pissed off at the whole "one true female mate for the male" thing and i stopped at the second book because tamlin randomly turned into an asshole, rhysand growling every 20 pages to look more masculine, "his male smile" (i also keep forgetting he has wings until he busts them out during sex but thats besides the point) and it just felt like i was reading a national geographic article. rhysand was also such a bastard with the kidnapping thing and theres still people calling him a "walking green flag"

it still makes me soooo furious that the majority of the acotar fandom is composed of white women who straddle the line between millenial and gen z because i truly believe in the hands of a better demographic (or hopefully a way fucking better author) the story could have been so gay. just so fucking queer. and less misogynistic. and queerphobic. and racist. and glorifying of abuse as long as the guy doing the abuse is hot. and less critical of nesta archeron. and - you get my point
