I have read your daddy!mingyu series for like three or four times (cuz its so good and i cant get enough) but i still wanted to make sure that you will be okay with my half romantic half physco characters, i mean look at my user name lol
But i have to say that i dont like yandere when it get too overwhelming. Like its okay if they are more possesive, obsessive, overprotective than a normal lover should be but when it gets to noncon its a big no no
Ngl i find it kinda hot when yandere "kidnaps" the reader because they think the world doesnt deserve them but my general liking for this genre comes from the idea of someone being so deeply in love with their s/o that they would kill for them. I like it when the partners are so passionately in love with each other, especially when one of them loves the other one more than a normal person
Im telling you this to give you an idea about what type of yandere thots you will get from me, if any of those make you uncomfortable please inform me so i can avoid sending you these tropes
agree w you there. smth i know i wonā€™t ever write abt is non con. thatā€™s a hard no for me.
tbh i think kidnapping and stalking and stuff like that is still kind of iffy for me to write about but oddly enough i donā€™t mind the concept of someone killing for their s/o?? like mafia aus have been a guilty pleasure of mine since forever so i think maybe thatā€™s why lmao.

Redwillow! First listed in the eclipse allegiances with Whitewater as his mentor. He has some appearances in the first few omen of the stars books, but mostly is a generic background character. By Night Whispers however he is in my opinion characterized as a seasoned warrior, even though he is very new to the books. He is put in charge of leading a boarder patrol, and is seen after the battle of the border covered in wounds. Later in the book however he is part of the group that plays on the frozen lake, skidding across the surface on his belly. I love this segment because he is mentioned alongside senior warriors Crowfrost and Ratscar who yowl in amusement at his antics.
There is some of what I'm going to call fan interpretation of Redwillow that he is a loner in Shadowclan, but in the books his moderate regard by his own leader and senior warriors suggests to me instead that he was well liked, and integrated into the clan, even though it's never established who his kin is. That's why to me he becomes an example later on of a cat who's ambition is used to radicalize him to the Dark Forest. He doesn't start out a traitor to Shadowclan, on the contrary Redwillow spends his time in the dark forest close to his living clanmates. It isn't until the Forgotten Warrior that Ivypool points out Redwillow specifically multiple times when she's looking for cats that may have loyalties outside their clans. He never says anything to that point, rather his body language and exchanged glances are what makes her think so. Within the Last hope he makes several remarks in the Dark Forest about becoming the best warrior he can be, and that training in the Dark Forest makes training with Shadowclan feel like working with kittypets. Ivypool confronts him in a conversation with Hollowflight asking if he would let his weaker Clanmates die and he says "O-of course not" just that they had a lot to learn from the Dark Forest Warriors. Even with that I remember finding his final moments in the Last Hope a departure from his character, where he declares the Dark Forest his new clan, and that Blackstar's time is over.
Idk I just wanted more out of the radicalization of the clan cats while it was happening. I guess as someone who grew up with the internet I'm not a stranger to what anarchy and rebellion look like behind closed doors and personally felt that the concept of being isolated in a toxic in group extremely interesting, I found the the non-committal conversations of the dark forest trainees to be much more innocent than the showy posturing of competitive vitriol I've known such spaces to inspire. The fact that Redwillow and Breezepelt at the end of the battle were the only two warriors we know by name that sided with the Dark Forest to the end seems like such an underestimate to me. All I'm saying is that while I do love Redwillow for being an example of this, Clan cat rebellion to the Dark Forest could have been much more catastrophic than it was, and especially for the amount of plot and hype that it was given in universe. Add to all that the possible reading of Redwillow as a transmasc character that is radicalized into toxic masculinity and I want it to be known that i do love this character, but that most of that love comes from meta analysis and not from the text itself. He shouldn't have died twice in the Broken Code because truthfully he just didn't deserve it.

as a kid i just took "zeus poseidon and hades drew lots to determine who would be king of what, and are truly equals" in stride with all the rest of the greek mythology, but the mention of it in the iliad (presumably how it reached "canonical" status, i would be surprised if this was part of any local cult practices) has me thinking about how weird it is.
the relationship between a god and their domain is strange, right? it's usually "behind the curtain", they're just the gods, they have their traits for no particular reason, in the same way a person is tall or has dark hair for no particular reason. but for the gods, their traits are also their domains, the thing they have ownership, control over. and humans DO have ownership for reasons, or at least from histories. so then the origin of a god's domain/powers/whatever becomes something to tell stories about. some ways a god can have a power
conquest: this is a classic. "overthrew the last guys, acquired their status". kind of unclear what the mechanism of magic power is though
assignment: a higher god will give or assign you a domain, as a duty-power. zeus does this, and i think they do this in hindu mythology too
artifact: some other god made a very powerful magical artifact, and if you have it, it gives you a particular power/domain
innate: the most common and very weird. aphrodite is the god of beauty, but WHY is she the god of beauty? idk. if she wasnt the god of beauty she wouldnt be aphrodite. "god of beauty" is a slot in concept space. something must occupy that slot, and the thing that occupies it will be by its nature the god of beauty. its almost like an anselm argument
lottery: the inspiring example of this post, and a very weird one! helps to remember that before probability there was something sort of inherently magical about random events. they were a chance for some deeper capricious fate to make itself known
but generally, these are not foregrounded questions! which is kind of interesting, because the theogony is one of the classic greek works, god-genealogies are very cross culturally common, its not that people are uninterested in the origin of the gods. but i guess it doesnt really occur to wonder why they have the powers they do? in the same way it doesnt occur to wonder why some people are cleverer than others, or whatever

āœŒļøŽ Sitting in Zoroā€™s Lap hcs āœŒļøŽ
Tumblr media
I just felt like doing these<3 I donā€™t usually do concepts and Iā€™m testing out the waters so theyā€™ll likely be short ;3 also I wanna do more than just relationship hcs bc itā€™ll be more fun āœŒļøŽ
enjoy zoro simps cuz yā€™all definitely be on my acc šŸ’–
At first he feels itā€™s kinda pointless
like heā€™s thinking ā€œwhy would you wanna sit on my lap?!ā€”sit on a chair or- just- somewhere else!...even the floor or something idk?!!ā€
but however you somehow convince him to let you, whether thatā€™s bribery (swords or alcohol), sitting on him anyway or schmoozing him over into letting you,
you did it!!
And thatā€™s all that matters :)
he probably got tired of your relentless request and just let you eventually
While you sit on him heā€™s usually sleeping sitting up, drinking alcohol or just relaxing with his eyes closed
When you sit facing him itā€™s a little more comfortable for him
he prefers it that way
sometimes you lay your head on his shoulder/chest and fall asleep on him
heā€™ll scoff either way but he gets a bit annoyed if he was trying to do something that requires getting up
Like training for example
If he wasnā€™t too busy in the first place then he just scoffs and probably takes a nap himself
if heā€™s not tired he waits for you to get up
he doesnā€™t like to stir you from sleep but if itā€™s important like a ship attack heā€™s kinda rough about doing so- šŸ˜€
bro he basically yanks you up and yells your name
not because heā€™s trying to be mean šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø
Just the fact that if an attack comes your way you wonā€™t be able to dodgeā€”and protecting someone isnā€™t his thing when fighting, he always tells you to go hide if your weak
uh anyway šŸ˜—
When you sit with your back to his chest its comfy but like donā€™t be surprised if he picks you up and turns you around (i donā€™t wanna hear anyone saying theyā€™re too heavy bc you obviously must not have seen the weights he lifts on a daily)
sitting like thatā€™s kinda annoying bc having to crane your neck back and to the side is not fun šŸ˜¬šŸ˜€
plus you probably hit his jaw a lot-
Or things like
1) he bites his tongue
2) his teeth hit your head (and it hurts for both of you)
3) he spits his alcohol in your hair (when you hit his jaw with your head)
4) you hit your head on his nose
So yeah this position is less common for you guys
Bonus if your hair is long
then he gets his fingernails stuck to it too :)
he prefers you donā€™t sit on his lap in public
mostly because he doesnā€™t like the stares that come with it šŸ’ā€ā™€ļø
he just feels awkward
If you once again somehow convince him to let you in public howeverā€¦..
itā€™ll be the type where he man spreads and you sit on one leg facing him
that way he has a bit more space to move and one of his arms is free
just in case an attack comes that he needs to block
orrrrrr just for simply drinking alcohol šŸ˜‹
on the merry/sunny heā€™s more likely to cave in
especially since itā€™s just the strawhats
unless they make fun of him or smth (especially robin) then he doesnā€™t mind as much
plus yā€™all can have some privacy in the crows nest most likely
ngl he pretty comfy to sit on
unless your really tall or smth heā€™s prob bigger than you
so itā€™s not like yā€™all are uncomfortable or squished
zoro after time skip is low key more comfy because you know that dark green coat he wears?
yeah it like bends to create a little chair when he manspreads
and idk if you know what Iā€™m talking about but those who get it do šŸ’—šŸ‘
Does he end up liking it?
yes :)
yes he does. :)
Im trying to branch out and do more concepts because itā€™s more interesting for me to write, and you to read so why not šŸ˜Š
Hopefully my zoro stans enjoyed !! <3 āš”ļøšŸ—”

in the least confrontational way possibleā€¦whatā€™s up with you shipping durge and orin? is it just another aspect of u liking fucked up dark dynamics in media? personally its not for me at all, but iā€™m curious why you like them together and how her dynamic is with ur durge
[CONTENT WARNING for mentions of inter generational incest and grooming below, nothing explicit.] Hm. You know, it's a little unfortunate that we have reduced every depiction of characters having a relationship that is at all romantic or sexual in nature (not even, really, I've only ever drawn them hugging LOL) as "shipping". I don't "like" them together in the way I like DU drow and Astarion together, for example, and they never really were together. I made up a story that I find interesting, because I find Orin interesting and wanted to explore her themes more, and liked the idea that hers and Durge's relationship wasn't always "bad".
I really enjoy writing for DU drow, I put a lot of effort into making his story feel fleshed out and suited for the in-game universe. It's a little disheartening that some people may harp on this without considering that there is a wider context beyond it just tickling me, somehow. These are two characters who've never even had sex, in which one of them (Orin) isn't even interested in romance or "mating", and the other one has no concept of healthy relationships, familial or otherwise and just desperately grasps at the one thing he feels a kinship to: to the eventual disintegration of the one relationship he had that approached anything to mutual understanding and relatability.
Theirs isn't a love story, it's a story about isolation and grooming that led to total dependency. If you've been told your whole life that everyone and everything is fated to die at your hand, that your kind is meant to be contained within a genetical crockpot, that debauchery is normalcy and everyone else is the enemy, it is no huge stretch that you would dump all expectations of companionship onto your one, supposed equal - friend, sister, mate, should-be-lover. And then, if you're a bad person on top of that, you won't take no for an answer.
Add to that that your grandfather (Sarevok) is apparently in total agreement and a practicant of the idea of inbreeding for weird purity purposes and you have yourself an environment where an obsession like such can be born - one that Orin wants nothing to do with, because unlike DU drow, she doesn't become distracted by matters of the heart - and hence we have conflict, and we have reason for resentment to brew over time. At some point in the past, they had a "good" (within the bhaalist concept) relationship, and there was nothing sexual or romantic about it. DU drow crushed that. And then he got a worm in his brain for it.
Is that shipping? šŸ¤· idk
If you go onto my blog's archive and look up the "orin the red" tag you can find more asks where I discuss them and their relationship.

Interpretation of messages and references in Railway
I would like to first say these are my interpretations and I could very well be wrong about these or read way too far into it
!! So take this with a grain of salt !!
TW: BLOOD, GORE AND DEATH TOPICS
1. The text in Romanian
Tumblr media
Now, I have seen a few translations because this text is well, spelt wrong. (Idk if it was on purpose or not, maybe to throw us off?)
Special occasion info reveal, but I am Romanian.
My own interpretation is this:
Tumblr media
"Castelul meu este un loc al intunericului." which translates to "My castle is a place of darkness."
This translation makes the most sense to me, but like I said, I have seen other translations by people which are a tiny bit different. (but nothing too game changing.)
Personally I like "My castle is a place of darkness" because I feel like it could reference something like a mind palace. So basically saying "my mind is a dark place."
2. Vampire concept
This vampire concept to me seemed to be inspired by Bram Stoker's Dracula at first, but then I realized it was more than that. I'm gonna bring a few arguments as to why I think that it might be a lot more well documented.
Dracula was based on the real Romanian Emperor Vlad the Impaler, a violent leader who used to stake people alive.
Tumblr media
These creatures, to me, seem to be tied to these flags, and honestly this imagine immediately made me think of Vlad the Impaler's gruesome history. He was such a cruel man that the people back then used to think he was feeding off of the blood of people, and that's why he was so eager to kill.
However!! Before these concepts really set into the Romanian folklore, 'vampires' (the correct name is actually strigoi) were the souls of people (dead or alive) turned evil, that would come to haunt people.
Tumblr media
"The evil dead committed always returns to the person who committed it"
Romanian folklore followed this rule as well, up to a certain point, as it was said that people who weren't allowed into Zalmoxis's (A god) kingdom after death would come back to haunt the earth. (So basically sinners.)
On top of that it was also said that strigoi used to crawl out of the earth during a full moon,
Tumblr media
And perhaps the most interesting part of all of the references, to me, is the idea of duality. Because Vlad the Impaler as an Emperor, ruthless as he was, was an excellent warrior and army commander, and has led the country to victory (although it was through very gruesome methods). Therefore, historians have been torn in between calling him a tyrant or a hero.
All in all, as Chan is also a leader, I think it makes sense to somewhat represent the duality of a person in command, the tension between goodwill and the means of it, if you will.
3. Final thoughts
Personally I think the most general interpretation I can make out of all I have collected is that he killed the dark side of his mind. Or wants to, at least, in order to let the kind, good one take charge. I see the English quote as a reference to the weight of responsibility, and how one's actions can affect others. That's why I consider it important to translate the Romanian into "my castle is a place of darkness" because then it becomes obvious that the MV symbolizes an inner battle. So, as gory as the video is, I think Chan is saying that he'll always choose kindness, no matter how complicated his mind is. šŸ˜

A Porcelain Doll and a Blade - Mizu x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: It's clichƩ, really. A pretty little thing like you with a monster. A classic Beauty and the Beast scenario. But what if the Beauty is not all that fragile and what if the Beast isn't as cruel? Oh well, still clichƩ.
(A/N: This is probably gonna be multiple parts!! Idk how many parts but there will be more than one. Also the reader is implied to be South-east Asian!!)
TWs!!: Canon typical violence, Mentions of smoking and alcohol, Blood and gore, Canon and period typical misogyny.
It's cold outside, it always seems to be anyways.
The young woman looks around her, taking in her surroundings, checking for something. What that thing was no one knew but her. She was inconspicious in terms of appearance. Her skin was on the tan side, but not anything that would be odd for most of the rice farmers. She could be Japanese for all they knew.
She, you, heads into a nearby tavern seeking shelter. You're cold, unused to such weather. The concept of snow confused you. Crystals? Falling from the sky? What a strange notion. You enter the tavern, sighing happily as the heat from the fireplace within hits you like a wave. It's not nearly as warm as what you are used to, but it's much better than the bitter cold of the outside.
Your feet take you to the bar, seating yourself at one of the barstools. The men stare at you- whether it's because they desire you or because it's odd that a woman enter a tavern was unclear. You try to call over the bar keeper who raises an eyebrow at your age. You're young, early twenties. Couldn't be older than 26. You order a drink, one that gets the bar keeper to raise an eyebrow.
"...Where's your husband?" The man asks gruffly.
You huff. Now you're cold, irritated and without a drink. You reply that you have none. What you didn't say was that you weren't interested in having a male lover anyways.
The man grunts in disapproval. "No husband? Really? So what are you then, a whore?"
It was common for the courtesans of the Red Light to drink. Most drank, in fact. Other women tended to only drink in the company of family. The 'high class' women that was. The desireable little dolls most men wanted.
His words made you scowl, your features twisting in clear distaste. All you do is get up, leaving the tavern in an attempt to fuel your need to retaliate physically. Oh, how you itched for a barfight.
A young man enters the scene. Well, not truly a man. It's Mizu. Her haori and cloak are wrapped tightly around her form as she attempts to warm herself, keep herself stable in a bitter enviornment. You pass her as she heads towards the tavern, your expression still as dark and bitter as ever as you collide.
"...sorry," you mutter, bowing politely.
Mizu merely nods, bowing in return before returning her sights to the tavern. It was getting fucking cold out here.
Later that evening you are forced to return to that godforsaken tavern. The town was small, leaving you no other option. You didn't feel like having to play cutesy in order to get into someone's home. So, you head back, a scowl ever prominent on your face as you tread back into the establishment. The bar keep raises an eyebrow at you once more, the gesture earning him a pointed glare.
"I need a room for one," you mutter, trying your best to keep the flare of your temper under control.
"It's a shared dorm," the keeper explains with another grunt. "You willing to stay with a stranger?"
You sigh, irritated even more. "Yes," you hiss. "Please, just let me pay and let me get to rest."
The man rolls his eyes but obliges, allowing me to pay him. Once the transaction was done you turn, eager to just get to bed. Unfortunately the bar keeper just had to open his mouth one last time.
"You'd be a lot prettier if you kept quiet."
You are unable to reply. At least verbally. Any response to that comment would have ended in a fist fight which would end in a murder. And it certainly wouldn't be you that would die. So you trudge into the shared dorm, fists clenched so tightly your knuckles turned white and your nails dug into your palms.
You slam open the door to the shared dorms not realising another person was in there.
"Hey, what the fuck-?!" A voice says, clearly annoyed.
You recognize the voice. It's Mizu, the stranger you bumped into earlier. You sigh, bowing once more.
"My apologies..." you murmur. "I didn't realise anyone else was in here. I should have been more considerate."
Mizu raises her eyebrow, instantly recognizing the oddly pissed of girl she had bumped into. Her eyes scanned your form. You were pretty, beautiful. Like a little doll that girls would play with. The fact that you were alone made her raise an eyebrow. Despite her thoughts she decided to remain silent.
"I see... just, don't do it again," she replies bluntly, turning to her side to get some rest.
You nod, taking her acceptance and getting ready for bed in turn. You just couldn't shake the anger that those words had caused me. Irritated, you pull out a cigar- stolen, not bought- and lit it. You take a few puffs before Mizu takes notice, raising her eyebrow.
"...you smoke?" She asks, skepticisim and wariness in her tone.
"Yes. Did any of it accidentally get to you?" You reply, exhaling the smoke outside the window. Mizu remains silent for a short while before reply.
"Why do you smoke that shit? It's bad for you. Addictive and ruins you," she mutters.
You roll her eyes at her comment. "I'm stressed," you reply.
Mizu scoffs, rolling her eyes in return. "I noticed that," she huffs. "Now are you going to keep having a stuck up attitude? I don't like dealing with brats."
Considering that you that she was a man this was not a great statement. You sneer, turning to face her.
"Oh, and you think you're so much better? What gives you the right to boss me around? Because you're a big strong man?" You ask bitterly, getting close to loosing your temper. "Well you can shove that strength right up your damn ass. I don't answer to you."
With that you go silent, glaring out into the night sky.
Mizu is taken aback by your hostility. Well, actually, it wasn't the hostility as much as your willingness to belittle a person you saw as a man. Most women would not take that chance. You, on the other hand, seemed to give zero shits. While it annoyed her it also made her respect you a little. No matter how rudely you had gone about it.
So, instead of reply Mizu simply turns over and goes to bed. She could already tell you'd be a hell of a lot to deal with and she was already tired. Perhaps the morning would uncover more things about the both of you.

Today is Wolf Song Animatic's 10 year anniversary on YouTube~! šŸ„³
Can't believe these OCs of mine are a whole decade old šŸ¤§
And the Red & Wolf webcomic, which is derived from my Wolf Song animatic, will be 4 years old next month! As of writing this post, where we are in the next update of the comic is parallel to the animatic šŸ‘€
I never thought my melodramatic, self-indulgent, little red riding hood retelling would be enjoyed by and affect as many people as it has. I feel in a lot of ways these characters have grown with me and have been a part of some key moments in my life (they gave me something to focus on during a pandemic, for one). I honestly didn't think it would be THEM, they were supposed to be one-off OCs and remain less like characters and more allegorical.
Like they were just "Wolf" and "Red", then after people became interested and invested in them as characters they became "Leikos" and "Scarlett". "Wolf Song" was supposed to be this heavy, sad, allegorical thing - but so many people saw a romantic tragedy, which REALLY concerned me at first but I did come around to the idea eventually. Reworking the concept to be a somewhat dark fantasy romance was how the "Red & Wolf" comic came to be. There's something kind of weirdly healing about taking a sad story from your past self and throwing some fluff in there, idk.
Anyway, I could go on and I have so much more that I can say, but ultimately, I would just like to thank you all for your support and interest throughout the years šŸ’•
It's gonna be bittersweet when I wrap their story up :')

Negaverse Megavolt concept!
Design notes and personality rant stuff under the cut. Warning. It's long and unreadable.
The purse thing is a generator (Ill probably design it as a prop at some point considering It does NOT look like one but portable generators are hard for me to draw for some reason)
I swapped which eye has the white in it (even though I usually draw it on the wrong side anyway bc idk my lefts from rights..)
I wanted to make the darks very prominent bc the yellows are very prominent in the original
I went with blues bc it's the only other colour usually associated with lightning and electricity.
The teal parts of his outfit are lights! They glow when he's fully charged and fade out when he's out of power.
You can't see it in this pose but his hands have outlets on the back that work the same as megavolt's chest outlet. He can power weapons with them and charge himself without the pain of straight up shocking himself
I wanted to make his hair look like it's thinning out bc of age and repeated electrical damage but I wasn't sure how to do that so it's not really present. Did give him some white hair though.
His glasses are prescription! Can't see nothin without em..
Okay now some personality stuff!
Megavolt is the hardest villain to swap bc his personality is "insane guy with memory issues but is smart" and it's kinda hard to flip that around without just making him boring? Removing his intelligence when it comes to electricity would also negate his whole gimmick which makes things worse. but I do have a few ideas. It's ironic I struggle with him so much considering he's literally my favourite character...
He was popular in high school. He was friends with negaduck and they were both pretty well liked jock types before negaduck started doing major crimes (though I imagine he was always a delinquent of sorts. Just didn't start destroying the city till he graduated) clash reunion is a whole beast on it's own bc megavolt has the most in depth backstory which means a lot of reworking for a personality swap au.
His interests, like dw's megavolt, lie in magnesium, electronics, and engineering. The difference is, despite being Intruiged by these subjects, he didn't go out of his way to learn about the. He was more focused on his peers approval back then. Not to mention the fact that negaduck was an extremely toxic friend and would absolutely make fun of him constantly for it. (He doesn't even actually care, he's just an asshole.)
Eventually after gaining his abilities he began to study electricity and start inventing things. Only.. He's pretty bad at it. Things tend to backfire on him. Quackerjack has a lot more experience than him when it comes to engineering and he tries to help him out but the guy's kinda cursed. I haven't really decided if it's more dt17 gyro where everything he makes ends up turning against him or guy am I from the Netflix green eggs and ham show where everything he makes just kinda explodes. Maybe a bit of both. Either way it's very over the top and is more trouble than it's worth, but that doesn't stop him! (Oh God someone stop him)
I didn't wanna just take away his mental issues completely because the opposite of that is literally nothing. It adds.. Nothing. It just gives him less to work with. And it's already hard enough to do this guy. (Plus it kinda implies mentally ill people can't be heroes and that's.. Mm....) So instead I decided to change how he reacts to it.
He still has memory issues along with other physical and mental symptoms of electrical injury, he just really likes to pretend he doesn't. He completely ignores his deteriorating mental, physical, and emotional health <33
I wanna flesh him out more but I'd only be able to do that if I write with him and I'm fantastic at procrastinating my writing projects <33

I felt kinda weird sending a request cause we talk outside of here but oh well
Do you think you could write Nubbins and Danny with a reader who does photography, horror is one of the reasons I got into photography so idk, sorry if I worded this weird
I had the motivation to do one more for now since I havenā€™t been very productive in my classes so far today. Hope you enjoy!
The Ghost Face/Danny Johnson
OMG! Can he help?! Danny is drawn to your passion for photography because he loves photography too! He admires your ability to capture the beauty of the world around you, and he often finds him lost in the amazingly well shot photos you took. Almost as good as his photography skills.Ā
Danny, being a journalist under his alter ego Jed Olsen, understands your creative drive behind pursuing your passion for photography. When you express your desire to open a photography studio, heā€™s not only super supportive but also is excited about the prospect. He sees this as an opportunity for you to showcase your amazing talent and creativity to the world. He, also, wants to help you start and run your photography business too!Ā
As someone who appreciates the power of storytelling through images and his articles, Danny will bring up the idea of collaborating with you on various photography projects. Heā€™ll even ask you to photograph events that heā€™s having to write about so he can publish your beautiful photographs for the whole town to see in his well written top tier articles.Ā
Danny understands the challenges of starting a new venture, especially in a competitive field like photography (He might be the top journalist at the Roseville Gazette, but that doesnā€™t mean he became that great overnight. Heā€™s had a lot of practice). He offers his support not only emotionally but also practically, helping you with business planning, networking, and promotion.Ā
As a journalist, Danny's schedule is pretty busy during the day and also he spends a lot of time with his ā€˜hobbyā€™ (if you know what I mean), yet, he still finds time to make an effort to prioritize quality time with you (I donā€™t know how he does it so donā€™t ask me). He understands the importance of nurturing yā€™allā€™s relationship amidst yā€™allā€™s respective careers and often suggests going on photoshoot outings together as a way to bond and unwind. Danny enjoys brainstorming creative concepts and themes for your photoshoots.
When you finally open your photography studio, Danny couldnā€™t be more prouder. He attends the grand opening with a camera in hand, capturing the excitement and anticipation of the moment. He smiles and yā€™allā€™s shared passion for storytelling will continue to strengthen yā€™allā€™s bond and drive each other to success.
Nubbins Sawyer
When Nubbins finds out that you photograph for fun just like him, heā€™s excited. Obviously, your photography technique is very different from his and he doesnā€™t fully understand the artist form of your photography at first; however, he quickly becomes fascinated by the way you capture the world through your lens. He wants to know why your photographs arenā€™t dark and blurry like his.Ā
Nubbins often finds himself admiring your work in awe, marveling at the way you can turn the most mundane scenes into something beautiful and captivating. Youā€™ll look over your shoulder and find him just staring at one of the many photos youā€™ve taken in his hand, unmoving. Who knows how long heā€™s been standing there admiring your work. Actually, the better assumption is how long has he gone staring at that photo without blinking.
Nubbins spends the majority of his time hitchhiking and looking for ā€˜foodā€™ heading towards the Sawyer property. Heā€™d enjoy it if you tagged along with him and brought your camera to document your adventures together. Your hobby is a great way to immortalize yā€™allā€™s experiences and memories, creating a photo album of yā€™allā€™s life.Ā Ā
Nubbins encourages and supports you. He would point out interesting objects and compositions for you to take pictures of during yā€™allā€™s unorganized photoshoots. Heā€™ll also scout for locations or offer input too.Ā
Nubbins is protective of your camera equipment, ensuring itā€™s always safely stowed away when not using it. He understands how much your gear means to you and goes to great lengths to make sure it goes undamaged, knowing how much their photography means to you.Ā
Nubbins often proudly displays your work around the Sawyer house for his brothers to see. He takes pride in showcasing your talent to them and often boasts about your skills to his brothers. When he shares your photographs with his brothers, Nubbins finds himself cherishing the photographs, reminding him of all the moments yā€™all shared together. Each image holds a special place in his heart, serving as a visual representation of yā€™allā€™s love and adventures.

Do you have any top 5 (10 if you have too many) magical series you'd recommend and why? I think on your old account you mentioned Princess Tutu but I don't remember the why
yes! princess tutu is very important to me and if you asked me what my favorite anime is, ptt would still be the answer. watching it as a teenager actually taught me a lot about storytelling and became the foundation for how I look at all fiction. it was kind of a "media analysis 101" course for me. besides being a fantastic story about stories, it also has one of my favorite protagonists and favorite straight couples in anything, ever. and it's cool and you learn a lot about ballet.
but uh.... as much as I love magical girls as a concept I don't actually have many shows that I've finished. I think I've kind of aged out of being able to enjoy most regular magical girl stuff, though there are still some I'd like to check out. anyway, I've seen people consider princess tutu, revolutionary girl utena, and madoka magica as kind of an unofficial trio of "good 'dark' mg shows that actually have something interesting to say about girlhood" and they would also be my recommendations. utena is far and away the best of the three though so if you're only gonna watch one watch that one (just mind the content warnings). I'm not gonna get into the 'why' because if you haven't heard plenty about utena and madoka already idk where you've been.
even though they're not magical girl shows, they are Girl Shows so I'll round out the five by also reccing haibane renmei and alien 9. in very short words, haibane renmei is about depression/suicide and alien 9 is about the inherent horror of hitting puberty as a girl. both are very thoughtful, kind of surreal, can get pretty dark, and have gorgeous art.

do you have any refs for Minervaā€™s relationship with the other dao companions? I did not realize she and leliana was estranged šŸ˜ also if im remembering correctly she makes loghain do the dark ritual? sorry I do like spinning her around in my head and knowing the little details sheā€™s such a great character!!
leliana and minerva did not have a clear breakup in the alistair minerva sense but they did grow apart because of the simple reason that post dao minerva becomes politically at odds with the chantry while leliana is serving its leader. leliana is not a type of person minerva finds very easy to like or trust so while they did grow on each other over the course of dao they never had a simple friendship in the first place
alistair you probably know about bc its kind of the cornerstone of minervaposting but theres a post fully explaining it not much further down in her tag
zevran is her romance <3 i hesitate to use the word ā€œsoulmatesā€ exactly but they definitely fit together in a way no other minerva pairing could match
morrigan she has a weird close complicated vaguely homosexual friendship with, iā€™m sure this is par for the course for f!wardens. they probably could have been in love if morrigan had been willing to pursue it in the start and if minerva hadnā€™t already gone for someone else by the end, and all that is unspoken but very present in everything about them
sten is i guess kind of the typical high approval relationship as presented in game? not much more unique. a lot of respect a lot of arguing a lot of dry humour. they could hang out in silence comfortably and theyā€™re also both know and respect that theyā€™re very capable of killing the other if their greater purposes ever demand it
oghren she kind of doesnā€™t pay much mind in origins when she doesnā€™t have to but he becomes part of the family in awakening. they bond over having their insane shared experiences of the blight, and also over him trying to quit drinking and her trying to quit blood magic which leads to some really wild out of context conversations for the others. and hey, eventually over first attempting to parent at similar times
wynne she has a bit of a sharp relationship with. i think this could vary a lot if i pick her up earlier, but in my main minerva playthrough i picked her up late by which time minerva had absolutely no fucking interest in getting the kind of lectures she grew up with. sorry grandma </3
uhhhh who else. shale idk man im sorry for being a fake fan but shaleā€™s dlc truly does nothing for me itā€™s unfunny and i dont think abt it at all šŸ’” this would be written in less harsh terms if i wasnt sleepy
loghain is. well thatā€™s a kettle of fish. minerva spares him because it happens to be a preferable move for her agenda and her way of thinking, itā€™s not rlly about him as a person at all. she doesnā€™t absolve him of anything he did, like, she still thinks heā€™s a bastard itā€™s just that she doesnā€™t really believe at all in the concept of justice being done if it doesnā€™t serve a purpose. when heā€™s in the party they do build up respect and a weird kind of friendship. he sucks and sheā€™s bitter about what sparing him cost her, but that isnā€™t relevant, itā€™s not going to stop her learning from him, or fighting at his side as the best team she can quickly make them, or simply finding him entertaining to talk to. so by the end itā€™s as a friend that she asks him to do the dark ritual, whatever that means. post dao she agrees with weisshaupt that him being assigned outside of ferelden is wise but they continue to write to each other extremely regularly, mostly on matters of news and strategy but occasionally on the more personal
is that everyone i think thats everyone

EOA3 - Character Opinions
This is just a quick breakdown of character thoughts so I can track how my opinions are changing over time. I donā€™t think I feel super different about anyone here compared to Act 2, but thereā€™s probably plenty of acts left to, idk, suddenly become a John hater. I wrote most of these in the dark because Iā€™m trying to avoid screens for health reasons so I think I got everyone who actually appeared in Act 3!
Love ā™”
John Egbert - He's had less to do this act overall, but manages to retroactively be the world's sweetest person with his notes and birthday presents to his friends. Listen. I love a gritty anti-hero and all but there's something about an earnest, kind protagonist who still has an actual personality and flaws that put him beyond being a reader insert that just grabs me and won't let go. I love to see him starting to question his assumptions, re-analyze his relationship with his dad and his past (even though I think he's still in the early stages of that) and go from being absolutely overwhelmed by the crude ogres to just soloing his way through a house full of them. I love his creativity in alchemy and in his little doodles for his friends! I want him to win, whatever winning means in this story/game, and I am waving flags and cheering behind him.
Vodka Mutini - You stare into the void. The void stares back, and then slowly, blinks each of its four eyes in sequence.
Rose Lalonde - HEY LOOK IT'S MY BEST FRIEND ROSE LALONDE. <- me every time she's on screen. Rose was great to begin with and gets better each act. Seeing her explore her mom's mad science lab, interact with Jade again, psychoanalyze John for four pages straight, exclusively make conclusions that fit with her existing narrow worldview while ignoring obvious evidence to the contrary, and risk not one but TWO meteor impacts to save her dead cat, has been a delight. And I love that Rose is a client player now, as she's someone who really wants control over situations, and now she's at Dave's mercy in a way that's already making her even more reckless and emotional than before. The story is better when her facade cracks!! Also even though I love Zazzerpan I felt a small vicarious thrill when he got smashed up because I bet Rose was delighted.
Peregrine Mendicant - She is a true, classic fantasy hero. Traveling a harsh, gritty wasteland with naught but a sword at her side and an ideal to believe in and ignoring the personal cost, she's like a witcher or like those dad characters in video games before they find a kid. All three future folks are charming in their concept, and how much I like them does relate to how much I buy into the domain of society they've claimed. With the mail I am so 100% on board. But the general concept of having a responsibility and taking it very seriously even when others wouldn't, or it doesn't make loads of sense in the situation, is compelling to me, and I think PM embodies this the most of the three.
Wayward Vagabond and Serenity - Grouping them as one since Serenity is only seen with WV, more like a familiar than taking her own actions. WV's curious nature and appearification skills continue to delight, and he's brave as well. Despite one moment sacrificing a citizen he's mostly willing to put himself in danger to protect his town and carry out Jade's instructions, his nervousness when making friends is very sweet, and he has this sense of wonder in a lot of the art where he's looking around at the landscapes. Rationally I could critique his political ideals but I have this emotional attachment to him that overcomes all of that. I'm so glad he has a tiny blinky friend by his side.
Like
Jade Harley - Jade seems like a lovely person to hang out with, and a ray of sunshine in people's lives. I love how weird her daily routine is and how to her, it's completely normal. I love her unironic enjoyment of things seen as 'cringe' and the way she's the one encouraging her friends to share in each other's interests. It's still hard for me to be as invested in her story as in the other kids' when - for example - she spends the EOA3 flash sitting by a flower and patiently waiting while the other kids are all running around trying to save their own or somebody else's life. But Jade definitely has a lot of interesting stuff going on, at least as much repressed trauma as John does, and the potential for a fascinating arc when she leaves the beautiful remote island she's spent her whole waking life on. I think she's fairly passive right now due to carrying out the will of Skaia for so long, but I can totally see that changing.
Jack Noir - This guy is awesome even though I barely know what his deal is. I personally don't agree with his clown aversion, but I love his priorities. I love that a hat is the thing that makes him finally snap and turn against the monarch. Radicalized by a jester hat. I like that he's getting character development but not necessarily a redemption arc; there's no hint that he wants to go work for the light side, he's just moving from lawful evil to chaotic evil and potentially becoming a wild card (cards reference intended!!!!) for the ominous planet.
grimAuxiliatrix - Easily the coolest troll so far. Inventive. Original. Has a gimmick and commits to it. If all of Act 4 was just an extended conversation between Rose and GA I would be okay with it.
Mixed / Uncertain
Jaspers - what did he say!!
Dad - I think Dad is the most mysterious character. Obsessive level harlequin enthusiast? Regular businessman? Jail escapee via brute force? Baking champion? Amateur astronomer? Treasure hunt designer? Dad is some or all of these things, and it's way harder to connect them into a coherent character for him than it is for the kids' varied interests. We and John are both missing a crucial piece of the puzzle. It keeps me up at night.
Bec - His radioactive powers are sick af and his relationship with Jade is very sweet, I like when two individually very weird characters find each other and have a surprisingly normal dynamic (at the end of the day they are just a kid and her pet dog!) But we don't know the depths of his connection to Skaia, which is disconcerting.
Nannasprite - Recurring theme with guardians is that it's hard to decide how much I like them until I know how much they know about Sburb in advance, and how they acted on that knowledge. It's extra hard to decide with Nanna because she is a sprite now, and detangling her from the NPC is even harder than detangling her from the harlequin. Meeting Rose's sprite might help! Anyway I think Nanna is old fashioned but well meaning, and has an idea of John as both the generic Child and generic Hero without actually knowing John until today. That's not great but it's also not her fault that she was dead for like a decade.
Midnight Crew - "oh, look at us, we're mean and scary and have weapons" get over yourselves. I have a sword too but you don't see me going round cutting off people's heads about it. Try calling yourself the Daylight Squad and being nice, idiots. They are fun though, and I'm curious if they'll ever play a bigger role in the story - we've had more extended sequences with them each act so far.
Dislike
Sburb/Skaia - I'm still lost as to how much Skaia is passively reporting past and future events, and how much it's actively influencing. But I have a lot of suspicion of any entity that tries to present itself as passive while also causing large amounts of destruction. On the one hand, Skaia could be so alien that it doesn't really correspond to human morality, on the other, Prospit and it's dark counterpart do follow human ideas of good and evil, and WV, PM and AR pick up human institutions very quickly. I feel like Prospit's government might spout the official line that visions during the eclipse are seen randomly and are guided by forces beyond anyone's control, while the actual truth is that Skaia or Prospit's monarch do have influence over what's shown or what happens. Until further notice I'm just as suspicious of the light kingdom as the dark.
Dave Strider - I feel like Dave has been fucked with all his life by somebody who does not care for his emotional wellbeing or physical safety, and as such, it's really hard for him to have healthy relationships with other people without a model of what those look like. His moments of sentimentality come from what we now know is several years of friendship, and when he first met John, Rose and Jade, he was probably way worse, and they still put up with him. I can have all the sympathy in the world for Dave and still say he's a total asshole for putting the alchemiter on Rose's roof in the middle of a fire. That's a Bro-level dick move and I'm gonna need to see Dave stop repeating the cycle of violence before I can like him, because his positive moments of changing his sunglasses and admitting to John that Bro kicked his ass, feel very one step forward and two steps back.
Aimless Renegade - Hitting people with machine guns is not cool. Also, thinking that one specific guy (yourself!!!) can be judge, jury and executioner is extra not cool. I still love his design (can I wrap myself head to toe in caution tape and call it a cosplay??) and I am intrigued by why the mystic ruins contain 'illegal pictography', but otherwise, AR had big shoes to fill being introduced after WV and PM, and he hasn't filled them yet.
carcinoGeneticist - Lacks originality and the personal touch. Very hard to be upset by a troll when their whole angle is "you're stupid and I hate you." https://thesaurus.com
adiosToreador - Does not have the troll's true spirit, or a way with words particularly. That's okay. Maybe AT is incredibly gifted at mosaic making or mini golf or raising chickens. Those are great hobbies and way better things to be good at than trolling.
Grandpa - Apparently he was so much easier to deal with while he was alive, but like, how? Would Jade put a butterfly in front of him and go do her own thing while he was running around trying to shoot it?
Hate
Bro - Worst guy of all time. To quote my other favorite piece of media, 'I hope his ends are fucking great because these means are not forgivable.' Like I don't really care if he has some top secret ironic goal, he's still an adult beating up a 13 year old on a roof under the blazing sun and then leaving him wrecked there. I hope he rocketboards into the sun and never comes back.
Lil Cal - He is still bad to look at.

how do you reconcile with writing smut about characters who are canonically minors? iā€™m not trying to attack you or try to change your mind or anything, so sorry if my question reads that way. iā€™m just genuinely curious šŸ˜
no worries!! this is asked respectfully so i dont mind answering even tho i usually just delete stuff abt this now
idk really know how to answer your question i have not reiterated many times. but like. i want you to really consider your own way of asking this to me critically. like what would i have to "reconcile" with exactly? them being minors in canon?
for me personally there's nothing to reconcile with. i feel no guilt or shame or remorse about aging up characters. or just like wanting to fuck them. or really anything i write in fiction at all, point blank - should i choose to explore it. like there's not crime i've committed other than being horny about some shit i made up, upon the basis some shit another guy made up.
partially this is bc characters in fictions are concepts. they're objects, thoughts, ideas. no matter how brainrotted i am about them, they don't live in material reality. im not harming them because they don't exist. outside of my phone and computer they are not real. harrowing myself with guilt over something that does not even exist is kind of insane. this applies to everything.
you can feel personal discomfort over aging up for yourself, but the reality is no actual minors are harmed in the process of me writing porn about anime characters. bakugou is lines on paper. i am allowed to cut him out like a barbie doll and play with him however i like. he doesn't get a say in that because he is fake lol.
there's like idk. all sorts of nuance to this and if you are respectfully curious im happy to talk to you about it. but they're just not real. no one is hurt in me writing this. so it doesn't matter to me at all. i would never hurt another person because of what im interested in fictionally, either. i have spent too many years becoming a decent human being to wonder about that
nothing i do in the fictional space is of any relevance to who i am, except for what things might cause genuine harm to another living breathing person. i write a lot of dark content in my smut also but
a lot of my content also while being dark, does not specifically deal with sensitive social issues so no one is hurt in that way either. i have enough confidence in my critical understanding of the world to write what i do understand to my ability. i mostly write about noncon and dubcon and yandere, all of which are personal violations and not social ones (OVERSIMPLIFYING THERE A LOT). i sometimes do write about social taboos of course but not whats outside of my ability
all in all its like. i dont know what i'd feel guilty over. no one is hurt and i have no intent to harm. nothing matters outside of that

Ok so my friend and I just recorded 4 HOURS of raw audio breaking down the OUAT pilot, season 1 finale, and discussing the show in general for our new podcast where we make each other watch episodes of our favorite shows and talk about them together. Itā€™s exactly as fun as you would imagine. :)
But even after all that, I still have things I forgot to say or didnā€™t get to. So hereā€™s a few of them:
1. ā€œEvilā€ as addiction: the OUAT writers treat the concept of being evil like addiction/substance abuse which is really interesting and kind of a bold choice for a 2011 show about fairytales. Then within that structure they show basically the two choices you have when facing addiction: choose not to use and become a better, healed version of yourself (Regina) or keep using and stay stuck in your patterns and hurt everyone you love forever (Rumple). As a child of an alcoholic who has chosen the latter, I loved watching Reginaā€™s journey in this context and while she stumbles a lot, she keeps striving to be good even though she gets the short end of the stick most of the time. And her North Star is always Henry, which I think is important to show that you donā€™t just change because you feel like it, there usually has to be the threat of something worse happening if you donā€™t change (in this case, losing Henry physically and emotionally).
2. Regina Mills might be the most psychologically complex and interesting character on prime time tv in the 2010s? Period??
3. I rambled a good bit in the podcast about the costumes and color symbolism but hereā€™s a bit more for you: Once Regina is on team heroes she often wears some kind of red top (the heroā€™s color) with a black jacket/coat over it showing that sheā€™s changed on the inside but she still *looks* like the evil queen on the outside and can now use that persona/power to her advantage instead of being consumed by it. By the end of S5 this contrasts with Emma who wears her signature red jacket but a black/white/gray sweater underneath, showing that sheā€™s a little more of a mix of good and evil these days post-dark one. In a color sense, theyā€™re almost mirror images of each other at this point, and itā€™s really cool.
4. I know a lot of people are really salty about how Emmaā€™s light kind of dims toward S4, 5, 6, and Iā€™m right there with you. Her character feels flatter, and honestly kind of depressed. Now idk if this was a real choice on the writersā€™/JMoā€™s part, if she was going through some stuff at this time and it just showed up in the character, or what. That said, it does track for me in a way, especially post-dark one. She should be kind of thrown off by everything thatā€™s happened! She should be changed! I just wish they had done something with it instead of pretending it was normal. If Reginaā€™s struggle with evil is analogous to addiction, why canā€™t Emmaā€™s struggle with evil be analogous to depression? It would have been an interesting take. Somebody write the fic.
I could keep going but Iā€™ll stop here for now. Stay tuned for the podcast!
