I can literally see her in my mind but I can't draw her. [*Screaming Internally*]

Appearance: Long brown hair with streaks of grey. Usually worn in a bun or single braid.

Dark Green eyes

Tan skin mottled in scattered scars and burns

6'2 and lean muscle

Color Palette: Green, black, grey, maroon

Likes: Candy, Oranges, Fantasy novels, Poetry, Coyotes, cats, cooking

Summary:

It’s a normal day for Alfred Pennyworth. He spends it taking care of the manor and watching over its inhabitants, just as he does every other day. It’s an exhausting, never-ending task, that he wouldn’t change for the world. But that night, he is confronted by a stranger in his rooms with a copy of every single soul-binding contract he’s signed for the protection of his family. The new Ghost King wants to update his terms and conditions.

Alfred POV, Ghost King Danny, with some Post-Vivisection goodness and only a little (a lot) of blood and gore and medical fun, but that's for later. Not for the squeamish, please check the tags!!

It’s a normal day for Alfred Pennyworth.

He wakes up early enough to be ready to greet Master Duke with breakfast when he shambles into the kitchen, he cleans, he greets the rest of the manor’s residents when they finally make it downstairs, he cleans, he goes down to the cave to rouse Master Tim from another sleepless night, he cleans.

It’s a quiet day, or as much as one can be when the place he calls home is filled with vigilantes.

He drops off Masters Damian, Tim, and Duke at school and uses the rest of the trip to pick up some groceries for dinner. Coq au vin tonight, he thinks, it’ll be perfect for the changing of the seasons. A mushroom and lentil substitute for Master Damian will do lovely.

The rest of the day is spent preparing the meal and doing a spot of gardening before it’s time for the school run again. He can’t help but smile fondly as he listens to them needle and tease each other, only stepping in when it starts to become too pointed.

Yes, it’s a normal day for Alfred Pennyworth. It’s at night when it all changes.

There’s a ghost waiting for him in his room. 

A soft glow emanates from the creature’s vaguely transparent body and a crisp frost creeps slowly across the floor, sparkling in the darkness like diamonds.

“Mr. Pennyworth?” it says, the voice bouncing off the walls so that it sounds like hundreds of beings instead of one.

Fear squeezes at his heart and the air in the room turns dark and heavy, so that Alfred struggles to breathe. His mouth is dry, his head is swimming, and he’s not entirely sure if he’s going to survive the night.

midnight thoughts: like, I know there's a decent number of people in the LU fandom who haven't played the games or have only played botw/tears onwards. So, how familiar are people with zelda music? Like, would anyone be interested in like a fandom discussion post talking about music that stands out from each title?

I think Life series fandom could do more with the artificiality of the game world.

Can't remember what season they started doing it... LimLife, maybe? The world border has always been there, but for the past few Traffic Games it feels like there's a lot more intentionality behind the map they play in. Always plenty of blank canvas plains-like areas for easy building, a couple points of elevation to fight over and survey from, little to no "extreme" temperature biomes like jungles, deserts or any of the snowy biomes... Even natural spruce forests seem rarer in recent games— though a couple seasons had dark oak forests and SL had a decent patch of savanna iirc, so it's not totally devoid of variation.

And of course, there's the clusters of 3-4 obviously bonemealed exotic wood saplings, dotted all over the map regardless of biom, periodically replenished throughout the season.

This is all to make things more streamlined on the CC's side— it's a timed series played in 3hr increments, it makes sense to give plenty of options to find an easy place to settle, collect resources, etc. And I assume the CCs have a bit of say in what biomes etc they'd prefer when a new season is being organised.

But from a lore perspective this has SO much potential! Especially given the popular "Watchers periodically yoink their 16-18 Silly Little Guys™ away from whatever they're doing, drop them into a terrarium, give it a little shake and watch them fight to the death" interpretation of the Life Series. People love to talk about how said Silly Guys are mentally/emotionally affected by this. So I think it'd be fun for fanworks to bring a little attention to the uncanny perfection of the terrarium itself.

...also I realise I'm probably a bit blinded by nostalgia for 3L. But I really feel like the maps of the early seasons were more unbalanced and "natural" somehow. Spruce and swamps and deserts and squabbling for resources, more potential for lucky spawns & creative uses of quirky terrain and I LIKED it!

Surely something could be done with the map becoming more tailored and "welcoming" to the players the more games they play, the more involved the gimmick is... Idk. Something about filing down the teeth and claws and random inconveniences of the world, season after season, to make sure the players are the ones actually tearing each other apart.

there are lots of gpose challenge weeks happening rn so I just want to throw out a reminder (not least of all for myself) that you don't owe anyone your participation and no one finds you less worthy for taking a break from making things when you need to!

these events are fun and help us make and strengthen community connections, but don't burn yourself out with self-inflicted obligation and fomo. do only the prompts you find interesting! do none at all! whatever you do, take care of yourself 💗

idt i can stress enough how much having fandom blogs helps you grow as a creative - you learn so much about what you really love to make and care about simply because everything is so unserious in fandom spaces, there are no rules or guidelines or specific frameworks to follow for what you should create. you are literally only ever obligated to make what YOU want, and it's okay to never do a single percent more. the way this helps you hone in on the aspects of art (this includes all art forms, not just visual) that are important to you and the way you can carry that clarity into the rest of your non-fandom creations - priceless.

Short comic I'm working on

To manage your expectations, it's not a full story. It's really just a test comic. I originally made a sketch to practice comic-making. Then thought: "this isn't bad, I should see what this looks like cleaned up." I proceeded to make a 3D spaceship model for it so I didn't have to waste time agonizing over the ship's angles, chose a color scheme, cleaned up some sketches, and now we're here

smoothie girl's name is Nana! she's 23 and as I mentioned makes smoothies. Nana is in college for a mathematics degree and is working at a smoothie shop full time to help pay for it. she's pretty close with the shop owner's daughter May, sisters almost

her favorite food is eggrolls! Usually a pretty healthy diet due to what the shop has to eat. favorite color is a nice dark orange, like the kind you see all over during fall. weirdly a morning person and doesn't drink coffee on top of it.

personality wise she's definitely a "mind my own business" person. a woman of few words for sure. she's not the type to hide her annoyance and doesn't care much if she hurts feelings. the same is also true if she has something nice to say. honest to her core kinda girl

Nana does not have a bf or any close friends in college. the most she hangs out with is her roommate or if May's friends stop by and pester her. mom friend basically lol

she doesn't have any biological siblings and is on good terms with both her parents, though is probably closer with her aunt. she stays in a dorm at school with a very nervous girl whom I haven't decided on a name for yet 👀 Nana likes fashion so most of her space in the dorm is for that.

May usually comes into work after school so her and Nana only have 2 hours to work together. if Nana doesn't have too much work to do back at school she'll stay a bit longer to help May with her homework.

people don't really ask about my ocs often so I hope this was a normal response. lmk if there's anything else you want to know! (thank you again you're so sweet!!❤️❤️)
