The frosty air around me has long since stolen the warmth from my hands and the once-steamy flask of tea they grip tight. My body is stiff all over, as if my muscles themselves have frozen in the harsh January weather. If a predator were to attack me now, the odds of me walking away unscathed are miniscule. I should get up, get the blood flowing through my veins. I should do so many things. Say so many things . . . But instead I sit, still and silent as the first rays of dawn begin to break over the horizon and the calls of birds begin to split through the trees.

2. Made of Ashes: (everlark, published, wip)

I slide a hand down to my swollen belly and stare at my shoes, watching as a fine layer of ash settles on the worn leather of my boots. A few yards away is where the bed I shared with my sister, Prim, stood. Over there was the kitchen table. The bricks of the chimney, which collapsed in a charred heap, provide a point of reference for the rest of the house. How else could I orient myself in this sea of gray?

honestly so disappointed in the jjk manga, especially the ending. don't know what to start with. like...i started reading after the 2nd season ending and up to somehow 250 chapter or something. i completely understand that this manga wasn't about something deep in the terms of relationships between the characters, or the world building or the emotional aspect (especially that part), because as i said to my friends, "the title is called "the sorcery fight", not "the sorcery talk" to my great disappointment and irritation. i am not a writer, but i think that building emotional depth is essential, even for the title like that, because it gives everything a better prospect. and this is why, to my mind, the shibuya incident was the best arc of the title (no, because of the feral gojo ofc, don't listen to me), since we were already used to the characters, attached to them, sincerely sympathetic to them, not to mention the whole satosugu thing, which is why it was so superior to me. because it literally had some depth to it, unlike the rest of the manga, that had been being read to me like the fight for the sake of fighting (which is probably the sense of the title, but nevertheless 😭). i feel like everything went extremely downhill since the maki x mai arc, it was so boring to read after that, (up to the chapter 221, obviously 🤧🤧🤧). the fight between sukuna and satoru was so good, not because of the fight itself (satoru dogwalked him, I'll die on this hill), but because it was also our beloved satoru and it was the clash of their philosophies more (which made absolutely no sense after all), and sukuna was really a charismatic villain, good known to us. after that everything felt like a nightmare. and the ending???? honestly, i think it was worse than the attack on titan manga (if you read or watched it). well, to me it sucked in different aspects than jjk, but still sucked. i have SO many questions unanswered it, like the whole kenjaku plan, the origin of sukuna and uraume, the whole merging thing, itadori's domain expansion, the fight between hakari and uraume???? WHERE'S THE SATORU'S BODY???

@/nanamis-baker showed me this earlier about how gege originally planned the whole manga and to me it totally makes sense. like he planned something completely different for the story and was pressured to fit into the other popular shonen manga type of plot and ended up not liking it himself and then it all went downhill (which I had the feeling, like he didn't like the story himself and just wanted to get it over with).

and please i think it's a crime that he really didn't show us anything other than the letters gojo wrote for his students to honor him, like no funeral or anything else or like someone, anyone is sad about his passing pleasssseeeeeee. it's insane. and spending the last chapter on random culling game characters (sue me, but i never really got attached to any of them) and not the main chast ahhhhhhh.

OOOO IM EXCITED TO READ COWBOY HOBIE Daily Hobie HC! Imagine going in a mirror maze with him as a date- He'll practically blend in and stand out with the neon lights due to his texture-changing-ness from his dimension, and it'll be pure chaos Because on one hand, his spidey senses are switching on and off due to how close either you or him have been deadly close to bumping into a mirror, so Hobie just decides to ignore the entire thing as a whole.. Bad idea on his part.. The amount of times he's bonked his head against the mirrors has you cackling, unable to even try and conceal your real laugh. Although he playfully scolds you for laughing, he loves hearing you laugh, vowing to himself to always try to do so, even in the worst moments. And when you bump into some mirrors, he will often retaliate teasingly with a 'yeah that sucks doesnt it? imagine how I feel'. However, he's unable to even finish his sentence before chuckling at your dazed expression. At one point, you guys will lose each other in the mess of mirrors, people and neon lights flashing everywhere. Hobie attempts to retrace his steps, but he doesn't even know where he last stepped because of the confusion of mirrors. Funnily enough, you both find each other by bumping into one another, laughing at the fact you both thought you were each other's reflections. From that point, Hobie holds onto your hand, not wanting to let you be lost in the maze of high. Little does he know, you're praying to not panic at the way he held your hand. Or maybe he does..you can't exactly see his face half of the time among the neon lights. Once you guys are out of the maze, eyes adjusting to the sudden weird haze of reality, you joke towards Hobie about having 'learnt a new texture', to which he immediately turns into something close enough of the mirror maze neon lights with a smirk on his face. A smirk that makes you want to snog it off immediately. When he drops you off, no doubt you both have stickers all over your faces, from when you were rewarded with for completing the maze, attacking Hobie immediately with one as he was drinking some fancy glowing fruit juice in a lightbulb cup. Once you return to your room, your eyes light up upon seeing a few little gifts from the place where the mirror maze was. With a closer look, you notice one of them has Hobie's signature on it, with the date and, in his writing 'Can't wait to see you again. Already planning where I'm gonna take you for my turn' You genuinely wonder when or even how he has the time to quickly make you these gifts from him dropping you off to you entering your bedroom. However, it doesn't seem to concern you much. Maybe murderer or not, he knew how to make your heart swell. I wanna go on a mirror maze date with someone:( Idc if its with a friend or partner at this point- I want to crash into mirrors and laugh -🐦‍⬛

She should've known better, trying to get things done when he was around. She also should've accounted for the fact that he's more distracting than a traffic cone at midnight when she adopted his procrastinating habits. She had less than 4 hours to cook enough food to feed the congregation of teenagers she was having over for Halloween, and here Theo was, literally sticking his nose in everything.

He stretched his arm across the island, dipping his finger in the bowl of icing she was currently mixing food coloring into, licking it off his finger with a smirk that made her roll her eyes. "He knows exactly what he's doing." she thought to herself, trying to pull the bowl out of reach while simultaneously forcing a "Theo! Quit it, that's gotta be the second time!" through a laugh she failed to stifle. His smile grew as he pulled his finger away from his mouth "Third, actually. Figured third times the charm, but I guess not" he shrugged, his grin never faltering.

She threw him a dead-panned look, furiously mixing the icing when she caught a glimpse of the clock on the stove over his shoulder. Finally she was satisfied with the color, setting the bowl aside and glancing at her recipe, smacking Theo's less than stealthy hand away from the food without a single glance his way. His gaze lingered on her side profile, studying every curve of her face and the flicking of her eyes across the page, his once teasing grin softening into a genuine smile.

She caught his eyes in her peripheral, a soft redness spreading along her neck and a nervous smile gracing her lips. "What?" she questioned, her accusatory tone juxtaposed to the fog he left in her brain. "You're pretty" The confession made her stomach turn, but she ignored the feeling, reaching up and smacking the back of his head. He winced, squeezing his eyes shut at the impact. "Focus, Raeken! You told me you wanted to help." He chuckled at her reaction, holding his hands up in mock surrender. "I am helping. I'm moral support." He stated matter-of-factly. She rolled her eyes for what felt like the millionth time that evening "well why don't you take your morals and go support the cookies when they come out of the oven"

Theo raised his eyebrows at her attempt to be witty, but she ignored it, grabbing one of his shoulders and turning his body to face the stove. He heard a drawer open behind him before an oven mitt clocked him in the back. He scoffed, turning to face her again, but her back was already turned towards the rest of her projects. He decided it would be best to be at least a little helpful before he wrecked havoc on their shared kitchen. Theo leaned down and swiped the oven mitt off the tile, begrudgingly pulling the oven door open and setting the hot pan on the stove top.

Now that he was done being helpful for the night, Theo turned back towards his girlfriend, reaching into the bag of flour to her left as quietly as he could. He hesitated for a second, deciding where he should launch his attack on the girl. Suddenly his eyes lit up and he tapped her on the shoulder with his empty hand. The second she turned around, he lightly smacked his flour ridden palm across the entirety of her face, immediately breaking into laughter at her reaction. Neither of their expressions lasted long, as she reached for the flour soon after, clapping large puffs of the substance into his freshly washed hair.

One thing led to another and the pair were grabbing handful after handful of the powder. Soon they, along with the entire kitchen and some of the dining room, looked like they'd seen snow early this year. Finally having enough of the madness, Theo grabbed the girls wrists swiftly, pulling her into his chest and wrapping his own arms around her waist. Theo flashed her his ever-present grin, reaching up to brush some of the flour from her face. In a move somehow more cliche than the last, they both leaned in, studying the others eyes, their lips about to meet. The only thing that broke the two out of their trance was the monstrous ring of the front door bell.

The pairs eyes widened at once, and Theo's smile quickly dropped as they both came to the same conclusion; they were fucked. They stared at each other in shock for a moment before they both broke into obnoxious laughter, neither of them breathing properly when they finally opened the front door to none other than Liam Dunbar, who held a very proud, albeit very confused smile, having heard the commotion from behind the door.

"Looks like baking is on the agenda for all of us this Halloween" He grinned at his own (stupid) joke, pulling a joint out of his pocket and heading for the kitchen, ready to save his two best friends from themselves once again.

I'm ashamed to admit that I do sometimes get impatient when one of my favorite fics hasn't been updated yet, but do you wanna know what I do instead of complaining and bitching about it? I play a fun game called "Refresh the fandom tag until the fic updates" or I find something better to do.

I'm not sure what other normal fic readers who don't act selfish and ungrateful do while waiting for their favorite fics to be updated, but it's obviously better than complaining about this stuff.

Authors and other people who do things related to creativity, regardless if it's for work or just a hobby, don't owe us anything.
