I don't believe that man has ever been to medical school.

My brain finally started trickling ideas for making my own fan dude (I have about one more developed one and one thats more a concept but i. do not have the energy to draw them right now) BUT i do have the energy to draw the first one i thought of <3

My fan dudes are kind of split offs of the original dudes, so this is one from the original 1997 Postal, and unless i come up with a better name, i'm calling him Medic Dude. (Story explanation and drabble below)

After the air force base, instead of going to the ending of the game, he decides that he needs to go further out from Arizona to try and save more sick people, and to the (remaining) citizens of Paradise it's almost as if he completely dissapeared. From a statewide threat to nothing more than urban legend, his body was never found, the trail went cold and they could not locate the man after a certain point, now wandering the country with no identifiable face.

However, further up the borders there have been tales of sudden murders found in the middle of the woods, mostly from lost hikers and travelers found with either gunshots in their heads or their bodies left dead at what appeared to be some form of medical malpractice. Reports of a strange tall man wearing a long leather jacket and a rain hat have cropped up from person to person, but it seems no one is able to locate the stranger until it is too late to escape his grasp.

As said above, Medic Dude is an offshoot of P1 Dude, he's much heavier on the idea of Physical sickness in the people around him, and with his skills in first aid and general foraging, he's taken on the role of a traveling doctor in his mind to heal the sick and infected stragglers outside of the ground zero that's Paradise.

He has no real place of residence, instead mostly camping out in the woods as he doesn't want to be around others long enough for them to discover why he's run from Arizona, however he has been able to get money working odd jobs across the state to purchase some necessities... As well as taking some of the belongings of his lost 'patients' to keep his journey going.

He's mainly meant to be kind of a mixture of a plague doctor in feel with more of the look of a WW1 nurse mixed with a fisherman, adding to his kind of "Surviving out there in the wild" look. Also fun fact, he smells AWFUL. Like rotting smell mixed with blood and fish gut smell. He tries to put nice wildflowers in his little scarf to counterbalance it, but there's nothing to get that scent of corpse out of the coat.

Surprise! I am going to rant about my own redesign and art! I think this is me mentally preparing for the helluva boss episode next week and praying to god it’s actually good. I’ve also been nursing a bit of a hangover today so forgive me if my wording is a bit more jumbled than usual

Im a big fan of my Angel Dust redesign, but in the general aspect of my art, a lot of my poses are a bit flat. That can be from either posing issues on my end, trouble with facial features, or just some secret third thing, but I think so far Ive been enjoying drawing much more cartoonishly as of recent. That vox canon & headcanon drawing was super super fun to do even though it was supposed to be vivzies style, but I used to have a style with more sharp angles and pointy curves that I honestly kind of miss, I also miss playing with cartoonish proportions!!

My art style may end up changing eventually, but my main pieces will stay in my usual style and my more doodle-y ones will probably be in a more cartoony style like the ones above. While theyre definitely closer to canon and meant to be inspired as such, the difference is that I can draw diverse body types in said artstyle! I also cant lie, Angel’s chest fluff is one of my absolute favourite things to draw and it’s so easy in this style…

About my redesigns though! This is mostly about Angel, but I’m gonna slap this here from DMs with a friend: “Im so pleased with this genuinely im so happy he has his little pedipalps, theyre technically also still his fangs but now he can move them and stuff and :33 typically for male spiders the pedipalps are a reproductive organ but that isnt the case for angel or many other arachnid or insect sinners id say so I think personally most of them have developed pedipalps for primarily other reasons like fangs in Angels case or maybe something similar to cat whiskers for other people”

In my original angel dust redesigns I just couldn’t find a way to draw his fangs in a way that made me happy because I want to keeo the same energy in his face as the original. Big clunky fangs that stick out just didn’t work for him and while they made him look like a spider, he lost that sort of angel-ness that I need when drawing him so I instead looks to the pedipalp aspect of spiders to move them off of his mouth and more onto his cheeks. It’s a very small change but it improved the design in my eyes significantly and just really made me a lot happier. I wont be updating his redesign post as of right now and maybe never will, but if I do yknow why now!

I just really really like drawing this guy a bit rubbery, hes supposed to be fluffy so like he should move kinda soft in a way? I dunno how to explain it rn, its 2 AM at the time of writing this so im gonna lay the hell down now!

ABOUT CULT OF THE GOAT AU:

About the Purple Crown: Ive been seeing a lot of interpretations of Goat's Crown going around and honestly Id like to put in my cents: I dont think the Crown being purple changes who the owner was, because the eye shape is still the same as Lamb's Which brings me to think that, just like how in COTL everything seems to be colored after warmer/reddish colors, everything in Goat's universe must be following cooler/purpleish palettes What does that mean to me? That ALL the other Crowns are of different colors as well, maybe a colder one compared to their original ones

Im still thinking about what each of them would be here but so far I like to think that Yellow -> Ocean green?? Green -> Blue Blue -> dark pink? Purple -> Cyan/White

I think the Crown shapes would still be the same + what each Bishop's domain would be as well

About Aym and Baal: They were never offered to Narinder. Shamura didnt have that compassion. They were so mad at their brother that they couldnt bring themselves to consider his feelings for being banished. Neither did any of the other siblings, for they wouldve been too busy fighting off Old Gods and hunting for empowerment

So where are Aym and Baal? Theyre alive! With Forneus! And both of them are lil jerks as much as their mother Taught to steal, lie and fight, all in order to survive no matter what. The twins have already expressed wanting to go out and explore the world, but Forneus refuses to let her kids go, much for her own selfish reasons of them being the only things that make her happy in this fcked up world AND because, of course, she loves them. She knows how cruel the world has turned into, she does not want to lose them Aym and Baal never met Narinder, and Narinder never met them Maybe eventually, while Goat is out in a crusade, they shall cross paths........as enemies

About the Purgatory: This is still smtng I am speculating about, but what I have so far: instead of it being MS to tell the Goat to free the Bishops from their deserved-suffering, itd be them asking the deity if such thing was possible, because Narinder wouldve been feeling bad about it He believes that his siblings could change over time, especially now that the Crowns were relinquished by the Goats power, and so they are allowed to have that chance This would unlock many scenarios of the Bishops actively trying to take over the cult, run away or kill the Goat + their followers. It is smtng Ill let cook for a while more

the oc that's currently on my mind--to be honest my thoughts are divided between totsuka and dimitri from completely different wips (mostly because ive been in a drawing mood and i rlly want to settle on a design for both of them)

Totsuka is, well, sort of a princess? She's the youngest child of a nobleman (he has one wife and *checks notes* seven consorts) in a fantasy world (her country is inspired by feudal japan) and her story is basically a mess but let's set that aside. She is a magic user and in my setting every user has an inertia--there are four (?) elements, and an experient magician shouldn't have much difficulty switching from one to another. The magic you use is based off the element your internal cycle is in, and if you don't actively choose one, it usually settles for one on its own (aka your default element, which we call the inertia)--and Totsuka's default is fire.

Her personality is mostly based off the Shounen Protagonist archetype! She's not very clever and is quite stubborn and hotheaded and would do anything to protect her friends. She values her own interests and dreams very high--and she also has the charisma to get people on her side. I'm sort of co-writing this one with my brother and he's a huge fan of everything shounen (like that One Piece anime) so a lot of the inspiration comes from there.

We're working on an adventure plot fighting against perhaps an evil empire and throwing some fantasy races here and there--it's not a very fleshed out wip but it'll come together eventually (and I'm not very concerned about that since im focusing on Meine currently) so my biggest frustration rn is her design! She used to have light blue hair (she's probably got some fae ancestors and they have colorful hair so she also does) but now since I decided her inertia is fire, I wanted to communicate that on her appearence so her hair is now a gradient of red and yellow (lemme doodle it real quick)

I have a notion of her face and hairstyle (subject to change) but her clothes??? I had a red puffy one a while ago but I don't think it suits her because it's way too warm and she travels the world so it'd get too hot and then I made a few other iterations but I also want her design to make lil references to the other protagonist (Olamina) but that's also tricky because *his* county is on subsaharian africa (or the equivalent in the setting) and their cultures are completely different so how would that even work

For the other character (from Meine! The wip im currently focusing in!), Dimitri, they were like recently conceptualized but her lore is suprisingly clear to my standards considering she's new. I was having trouble deciding his gender but then i decided to just well... leave it? I don't know their gender. They use all pronouns (she/it/they/he/neos...). She's also a child soldier/living weapon!

(There is one single image i want to base her appearence in but let's forget that one for now lol)

Dimitri starts the story off as a villain (yay!) because it was raised by the villain (a powerful and greedy CEO that wants to steal the powers of some of the main characters that get together in order to stop her) and it's all they've ever known. Later on, she's captured by the protagonists and after a few events (that part is obscure to me tho) he joins their side.

I also really, really like that accidentally I made a paralel between her and one of the mcs, Ceres. Ceres has the power of the Archive (she can copy and store people's powers for later use, with some limitations) and was also raised in an unconventional way. Back when she was around six, her mother gave her away to be the test subject of a project, and Dimitri was also abandoned and taken in by the villain. Dimitri's powers are also similar (the Copycat: he can copy/steal people's powers) and their backstories were just so close to being switched up. Ceres ended up in a pretty warm environment, because the leader of the project she's the subject of is a sweet guy that loves children, while Dimitri is, well, a child soldier. Dimitri's name is also based off the word Demeter, the greek goddess of agriculture. Now, Ceres is, would you guess, the roman name for the same goddess! I named them this way on accident but after I noticed it I'm just. Very happy with these coincidences. I thought of them while my mind was wondering in the direction of a role reversing AU.

FFAK is turning 10 years old next year (2024).

 its only 8 right now, but it will turn 9 this year. it makes sense to me that its about 10 years old, but its also kind of wild how fast that all went. was that really a decade? it all still feels like a new project to me because I have RP ocs that i still draw/think about that are a little over 20 years old now. THOSE feel like old characters. Eggshells has already turned 10 years old and i have yet to finish it, so FFAK is still not my oldest ongoing comic therefore in my mind, its still kinda new somehow. Eggshells is the old one. but 10 years is still a lot of time! and it certainly has changed a lot since I first started to draw it at age 24. either way, im really happy with it and im happy I’ve started the 2nd arc. its funny how little tolerance i have for hiatuses (it only lasted about a month lol). I have no idea when I will hit 10,000 pages but I feel like it’ll happen.. eventually. but probably not before ffak turns 10. that’d be like way too many pages and I’m working a lot at my day job now, but also only like 15 other ongoing comics I make. because i like drawing comics. I haven’t counted but i do think i have drawn 10,000 pages in total for all my comics or at least close to them though, so that’s neat. anyway, just thought id type some thoughts about this before i go to bed.

Unfortunately i have no plans, The vanny project is on hold because I Broke My Art Tablet so anything more than doodles is kinda frustrating right now (the pressure sensitivity has decided to fuck off and will only come back in spurts and then sometimes it simply refuses to draw and Good Lord is it frustrating)

im going to be getting a new one eventually but till then? youre all banished to doodles

Juno is a quiet guy that mostly keeps to himself. But like in the I dont want to talk to people way rather than the im shy way. Most people around him dont know much about him and hes happy to keep it that way. He owns a place with his much more outgoing brother, Coda, in town where alot of ppl hang out and DJs at his booth. He really really likes music as an art form (specifically rap, jazz, and alot of other stuff he’d rather not say). Juno likes tones of other stuff too hes just really repressed and doesnt want anyone to see anything abt him outside of him being quiet and in the background (bc he has mad problems).

He’s a fruit person with berries for ears and a stem on his head (bc i thought the design was fun) and has juice powers that I dont want to explain rn bc im still tryin to figure it out myself lol. Think of water bender ig but with juice that comes from his body/blood type situation.

Juno’s not a very friendly guy at first but he learns to open up and actually enjoy other peoples company as they enter themselves into his and his brothers lives. He gets to know both Hiro and Buggy as close friends in particular. Hiro thru his ways of being the perfect balance of being someone to push him out his comfort zone while not scaring him in the process just on account of how Hiros a little odd but socialy observant. Buggy and Juno are very different personality wise but they share a love of music that he doesnt really have with anyone else. And eventually he gets to form a less strained relationship with his brother (that he kind of raised) after the trauma they endured before they moved into the home they live in now. Something like seeing Coda as more of a peer than someone to protect and care for now that they are adults.

eventually i discovered tsb (sometime back before you really revealed much lore of them) and i also discovered you had artfight! And since it was my first year on artfight, and artfight is a fantastic excuse for me to make fanart of other peoples OCs (which was rarely a thing i did cuz i was shy-) i decided id make a silly lil fanart of TSB just cuz :]

well guys, it's been officially a week later since the end of the "birthday party" event. crazy it already flew by fast but formerly something i really wanted to say from the very start: thank you.

quite frankly i know i could've just made a simple thank you text as a normal person does, but i wanted to really to show my gratitude by giving something nice. and that something nice was the discord server until... my chaotic brain decided to make a daily week event inspired by scott cawthon UIGHJDSXUKGJH but otherwise- i hope everyone enjoyed tuning in everyday and i've personally been having a blast talking and hanging out with everyone since.

now, i got my secret final card up my sleeve that i've been wanting to do. was to give back something to some specific folks. amazing folks. folks that one: were my introduction to this amazing smg4 community, and two: friends i've made that has genuinely changed my life for the better, and three: been the greatest support i could've ever asked. it's still insane to me that i knew my life would be changed the moment i clicked on a youtube video of someone yapping about a specific blue and purple character from a gmod meme show and if they would work canonical. following up with me just 3 hrs later my first fanart doodle for myself. with just recently that moment being so happy i reached 100 followers on here... if you would've told me four months later that it'll exceedingly grow 10x i would laugh at you and walked away... you guys are insane in the best way possible it has scared me to death, but never have i done better improving my skills and mental health.

Their relationship was, unconventional. There weren’t supposed to be any feelings involved. It was strictly sugar daddy and sugar baby. Then it grew to weekly dates, attending events with him, and eventually moving in. And when it began, the sex had no strings attached; behind that bedroom door, she listened to every command Daddy had and she’d be met with reward. Though for John, it became more than meaningless sex and spoiling her. Oh no, he knew he broke the ‘no feelings involved’ rule the first time when he got back to his locker room after his SummerSlam match against Roman Reigns. John and Y/N had been with each other for three years at that point, giving them the deep knowledge of the other inside and out; she could read him like an open children’s book in that moment. She had found her proper place in his lap with her arms around his neck and leaving sweet little kisses from his neck, to his cheek, to his lips. “I know you’re a little bummed out Daddy, and that’s okay. But, when you came out, you made a lot of people happy; I saw the faces of all those little kids. So what you didn’t win the stupid belt; you do win me no matter what.” He couldn’t help but smile at her little speech, “Do I now? So, how is my little bunny going to help me celebrate?” The answer to that left her with a delicious soreness the next day. 

The second time was when he found out about her past and her true passions. She was such a lightweight that after a few drinks one night, she had spilled the beans to him. She grew up with two older brothers that their parents favored over her, that she was just a pretty face with nothing going on upstairs. She had put on an airhead facade for most of her life that she actually started believing it was true. She had told him about wanting to be an artist since she was a little kid, even making some of her own clothes in her teen years. Her creativity showed in her fashion. He learned quickly what her preferred style was and where to shop. She was a 2000′s princess with a modern twist. John grew to adore the excitement she’d get when her stuff from Doll’s Kill came and she would model for him; even though he’d pick out some of the things she got. After that night, he found a sketch book on her desk when he went to leave a new collar in her room while she was in the shower. ‘When did I get her this?’ he had thought. He didn’t want to snoop but he couldn’t kill the curiosity he had. Flipping through the pages, he saw beautiful drawings; mostly having to do with him. Even if they weren’t a couple, they had their domestic moments so she had captured his picture at his calmest points; as illustrated on many of the pages. He also saw outfits inspired by his merchandise and personas in his wrestling career with notes alluding to progress on the actual final product. He placed everything where it was supposed to be and left the room. 

She came down to find him on the couch with the matching green and pink frogs from Build-a-Bear they had made earlier in the day. He was wearing her favorite outfit on him: t-shirt, grey sweatpants, and his hair slightly out of place. On his end, she was wearing his favorite on her: one of his old merch shirts, tiny and barely visible shorts due to the shirt, those little lace babydoll styled socks, and her hair half tied up with a bow scrunchie. That was the moment he decided he was going to make her his officially; no more hiding. He watched her make dinner from his spot on the couch. ‘Now or never’ he decided to himself. He wrapped his arms around her waist as she finished up, “Can you grab the plates for me? You always put them too high up for me, silly.” He did what she asked and put them on the counter, then not taking his eyes off her as she plated everything. She could feel his gaze so she turned to look up at him, “Are you just gonna stand there?” He gripped her hips and pulled her closer, prompting her to put her smaller hands on his chest. “John, whaaat are you doing?” His voice dropped multiple octaves as he drew his face closer to hers, “Something I should have done a long time ago.” With that, he kissed her deeply. When she melted into it, she didn’t feel the normal lust and want behind it; she felt something different. When they parted, she looked up at him with those doe eyes that always had him wrapped around her finger in seconds. “You kiss me all the time, John. What do you mean ‘something you should have done a long time ago’?” For the first time, she was genuinely oblivious; not part of the act. “Y/N, I know we had one rule, but I knew you were special.” “What are you talking about?” He pushed a piece of hair behind her ear, “I mean I am in love with you. Not the superficial front you put up. You don’t have to act dumb around me. I know you want to be a designer and taken seriously. For the past few years, I grew to love everything about you. From the way you scrunch your nose up when I compliment you, which is why I started calling you bunny; to how excited you get when you beat me at something. The moment I saw you at Two Whales, I knew I needed to have you in my life. I know you say I already give you everything, but I want to give you the world and more. I love you Y/N. More than life.” Without speaking, she jumped up and wrapped her legs around his waist and kissed him with so much love behind it. She broke the kiss and they stared in each other’s eyes for a few seconds. “What do you say? Do me the honor of being my only and tell the world about my favorite girl?” Biting her lip, she nodded; “Words, baby.” “Yes John, of course I want to be yours.” He kissed her again and spun her around the kitchen in his arms as she giggled.

Cuddled up on the couch with both frogs in Y/N’s arms as she was in John’s, the two watched Human Resources until she looked up at him, “John?” “Yeah?” he replied looking down. “I love you. I just realized I didn’t say it before.” John smiled and kissed her forehead, “I love you too, bunny.” She also realized that she finally didn’t have to play bimbo anymore and he got to show off his smart girl to the world.

-id like to think that like. every few months kirby and ddd go to visit taranza . -its that time of the month again . look kirbys got his mess of a calender right here . its got a silly flower doodle on the date -wake up wake up wake up we gotta go cmon wake up -ddd is barely awake . hes annoyed . huh . what . what is it why are u bothering me at 7 in the morning -kirby enthusiasitically pointing at the dreamstalk out the window . sigh . oh boy time to fucking climb huh -no matter how sleep deprived and grumpy you are , u cant let down a promise to kirby . hell drag u along regardless . -bandee's also coming . yeah -ok so now were starting the climb up the dreamstalk . kirbys flying a bit ahead. hes using beetle because better flight . ddd's behind em carrying a bunch of stuff for a picnic later . hes like climbing climbing . strong . bandee is helping -hey are you sure ur alright carrying all that . well yeah ofcourse im fine lol. im the strongest guy ever ive got this . <-- is exhausted -kirby enthusiastically greeting everyone they pass . oh hey its one of floralias funny flower fairy guys . hi ! hi there !! how are u !! hes like an energetic puppy . he sees literally anyone and is overjoyed . -maybe the people of the sky still hold ddd extremely highly right . like yeah were well aware it was initially a misunderstanding that u were the hero of dreamland but ur still our hero . they personally helped/watched ddd when he was doing that section with the cannon,, and probably witnessed him helping to free kirby so he could finish the final blow on sectonia . -but yea i think it would be entertaining if hes like . a super big deal to them . tries to act all cool like yea i know im the best haha . he is a selfconscious mess and this is how he disguises being flattered -ok so eventually we meet up with taranza all the way up near the castle in royal road . -taranzas happy to see them . hes constantly trying to tidy up in little ways like fixing his hair and straightening out his scarf and such . even tho hes sorta close with them hes a bit of a perfectionist and wants to be seen as well put together . -we do silly fun things . have a picnic in the garden . taranza teaching the others about plants . bandee is fascinated by his rambles . in the past taranzas been shown to think of himself as very cool and clever sometimes so maybe . he plays chess with ddd some . you know snickering to himself when he thinks hes about to make a really smart move. ddd playfully teases him over it -maybe at one point taranza gets a bit gloomy . maybe hes staring longingly at a dreamstalk blossom and feelin sad over sectonia again . ddd could try to reassure him a lil . give em a pat on the back -kirby suddenly remembers somethin . runs over to his bag and pulls out some flowers local in dreamland that he had brought for taranza bc he knows he likes that sorta thing . taranza cheers up a lil bit . somethin somethin thematic about learning to cope and move on some . accepting the love of the people around you now while still retaining part of their memory . -they hang out until sunset . idk maybe they spend the night or somethin its a long way back

ok so u know like back in the gravity falls fandom there was that really popular au called monster falls where everybody got turned into some sort of monster/mythological creature? i fucking love that scenario and have been making my own little “everybody gets cursed by a witch or something so now i get to draw these fun designs” aus for like everything i like (never did it w tma oddly enough? good inspo just never struck.) so here.......is..........this. not everybodys pictured here but go under the cut for a list of what everybody is plus some extra notes and stuff

brian - CENTAURRRR also again. yes. i know i went 4 horse for him in the furry au. its just good and has fun brian vibes. wanting to draw centaur brian was the thing that led to this au happening

ivy - ELDRITCH SOMETHIN OR OTHER...idk what youd call that exactly. but you get the gist. cosmic horror, eyes, unfathomable patterns and things. doing the deep dream stuff for her in that picture was very fun and im very happy w how it came out...definitely something to revisit in the future. not sure how i wanna draw her when...not doing a whole colored digital thing, but well cross that bridge when i can draw again

jonny - he’s. he’s a devil? a little demon guy? like. yeah. of course. this guy was fucking meant to have little wings horns and a cute little demon heart tail. he has somehow become MORE bastardly

marius - VAMPIRE MARIUS ONCE AGAIN HES JUST FUN. hes just fun and the aesthetic suits him. i cant wait to draw him in a fun little cape with one of those big dramatic collars you know the ones. vampire marius is of course @ alientoastt’s idea!!

nastya - BANSHEE...or ghost in general but there some banshee stuff i feel could be fun to integrate. apparently in some tellings banshees can turn into crows? i love that very much. but anyways hmm..some notes abt the design in thsi post shes not quite where i want her to be. this was done on that collab canvas the other day and like...was mostly noodling things out having fun, those flamey looking bits are a very nice motion very fun to do but NOT wwhat i want for ghostya. i want her to be more. drippy. very drowned person vibes. fire and upward-floating motif not what i want. but it was fun to draw. also i think theres some potential comedy in there with “person who predicts deaths” among crew who habitually murder each other

raphaella - SOMEWHERE BTWN HARPY & SIREN (the bird kind not the mermaid kind) very excited abt her. lots of fun potential poses here. doing her design was a bit tricky- sirens tend to be just like- big birds with human heads? but i didt wanna do just that that takes away too much of her design recognizbility yknow to Just have her head. so she has a people torso, bird from the waist down, plus her arms are wings. which means she has Two pairs of wings. which i for one think is incredibly fun like you remember in httyd2 valka’s dragon w the four wings? yeah. also avent figured what bird in particular shell be based on- for the ufrry au i went w african grey parrot but dont feel like that here. ill think on it

tim - WEREWOLF TIM DUH. DUH. also i think werewolves are especially funny in scenarios like thse cus like- okay everybody suddenly ahhh cursed ahh monster whatever. but then tims just there like. i mean i feel fine lol and u get to have the fun surprise of Oh Suddenly Werewolf. also the question of how exactly werewolves who change based on the moon function in a. spaceship. i like to think its entirely fucking random i think thats funny

#anyways guys youre never going to guess what au ive been thinking of lately .#i know the correct way to go about this is make sidestep the main character but you see#i will not be doing that. and actually in fact i will not be following the storyline of persona 5 in the slightest. because lol#but morgana exists in this au purely because i dont think the others would survive without him explaining what the metaverse is 💀#the rangers are a team of detective for the public sector in this au#and dr mortum is an unassuming everyday scientist that should not peak the rangers interest in any way. at all#in the video game that exists in my head the player can pick between playing julia or ricardo#it doesnt change the storyline that much but it does make the character relationships funky so#in my head chen is best friends with julia and argent is best friends with ricardo#chen and ortega stumble into the metaverse together so if you pick julia its two best friends in a life or death situation#but if you pick ricardo its your sisters best friend+kinda your boss in a life or death situation which personally i find extremely funny#regardless of which ortega you play with the other one doesnt know about the metaverse until id say like. the end of the first palace? beca-#use thats when they start getting suspicious#and because this is ortega they follow them and find out about the metaverse that way#i dont think they become a phantom thief but i think they do end up covering the others asses irl#dr mortum still isnt actually a doctor but i think theyre the one providing medicine to them at the start of the game#theyre extremely wary of the rangers at the start and ortega can barely convince them to sell them things which they still charge-#-extremely high over. i think the turning point comes when they discover the metaverse because holy fuck they are So excited about it#both because of the implications and what the metaverse could be used For#chen is not thrilled about letting them know this but theyre kind of their supplier so its not like he can argue#i think mortum joins the phantom thieves eventually but as a navi#obviously its in their best interest to provide everything for free now that theyre part of the team but they still have to order supplies-#-so i think the way it works out in game is that theres certain days supplies can be ordered and you have to pay for it but the items can be#-picked up at any day of the week#but also i have no idea how that would work practically (its all in my head anyway so it doesnt actually matter but yk)#theres still more thoughts about this but im ✨running out of tags✨ and also i cannot organize my thoughts enough to explain it

the twins!! plus morgana. i forgot to mention in the tags that ortega and chen stumble into the first palace like in p5 canon lmfao. morgana got roped into staying with them after he leaves the metaverse because 1. a detective would be a Massive help with finding his memories and 2. npc!ortega caught him talking with pc!ortega and chen and was charmed enough to adopt him. he couldnt stay with chen because quote, "i already have a pet. i cant deal with another one." morgana was Very offended at the implication he was a pet. like the outcome was Good, it was what he wanted, but come on man >:(

npc!ortega was v happy to have morgana over, i think other than their twin, he ends up being the person they basically rubberduck all their theories to. i kind of wanna make them basically the sojiro of this au, but also. the idea of npc!ortega getting into the metaverse and losing their beloved pet because thats A Person and not actually a cat is so good to me. i think if they do end up in the metaverse though, pc!ortega and chen would have to convince them not to join. gotta protect your sib and all that, but i think chens argument of "we need somebody to be our alibi while were in the metaverse" would actually win them over. theyre a good liar so i think they could keep them hidden for a While.

OH YEAH, speaking of chen, i think after escaping the first time, he Really didnt like the idea of going back to the metaverse. ortega had to be the one to convince him to go back and that was after hitting a roadblock with their own practical investigations.

smth i cant really figure out is if npc!ortega finds out at the end of the first palace, or around the middle, because i have this really clear image of them helping pc!ortega find supplies. theyve built up a pretty shady web of contacts– the result of years of trying to find leads for the twins private investigations– particularly, theres a little known scientist theyve heard about named dr mortum that might be able to lend their services.

concerning dr mortum, i dont think they join the phantom thieves until at Least the second palace, or midway through it. theyd be Fascinated by the metaverse, but id say theyd probably enjoy it better as an observer than being thrown into the thick of it. also, i think theyd find the vigilante work of the phantom thieves as risky and pointless, most likely the first person that really calls into question the morality of what theyre doing (not because they care about that sort of stuff, but as a way to neutrally point out their hypocrisy). ALSO. I JUST REALIZED THE SYSTEM I MENTIONED IN THE TAGS WAS NOT NECESSARY IN THE SLIGHTEST BECAUSE THERE IS SOMEBODY IN GAME THAT COULD ALREADY PROVIDE MEDICINE

the detectives probably have their own medical team they can go to right? but ortega and chen couldnt really go up and ask them for supplies without looking suspicious. but when dr mortum joins the team– well, im ngl to you, i dont think dr mortum would keep quiet about that to one of their closest friends. i have this scene where ortega and chen are getting questioned and about to have their cover blown when dr halabi comes in and saves their ass out of nowhere, after which the three of them have a Very illuminating conversation (wherein ortega gets extremely pissed that mortum kept this from them)

as for the rest of the rangers, i dont really have as much about them :') i havent thought about them as much. this is angie though!

she Knows something is up with chen and the ortegas, she just can Not for the life of her figure out what. oh, and i think daniel is the first one to find out about morgana being snuck into the workplace lmfaooo. he doesnt say anything about it but he Knows. hes the only one i have a persona in mind for– i think his would be hermes!

oh, you wanna know about sidestep and anathema? nothing much to say. anathema was just one of the string of mysterious deaths out of nowhere. sidestep was a private detective the ortegas were fond of that disappeared around the same time it happened. presumed dead, but theres no body, so of course the ortegas are still trying to find them, the paranoid, hopeful fools. something about hollowground? whatever, its not important.

My advice probably isnt very good though; i definitely wouldnt call it skill !!! but it means a lot that you like my art that much and want to hear about it. i guess my main principle is that i try to treat every drawing like a painting, by which i mean i like to apply a lot of color and move it around a lot... i work very additively and switch colors like every 5 seconds so i really just end up with a ton of different tones and eventually i stumble across some that look good. i try not to erase my colors and i work over top of them instead most of the time...so picking colors is more of a process of trial and error than it is a matter of like, skill,

my advice for more interesting colors that ive learned by brute forcing is to move around the color wheel a lot! i try to stay away from monochromatic shading as much as possible because i think it looks boring on my boring drawings. i dont even really mean this in a "use complimentary colors to shade" way, i mean i literally just slop whatever color i want on there and if it doesnt work i do another one over top... you can get some really interesting effects out of it. i love using my full range of colors wherever possible!!! color theory is helpful, but its always just a rough guideline and breaking the rules of it usually ends up more exciting than confining myself rigidly to it for me personally.

the other thing that i guess is my big principle is to not be afraid to use my tools... as a digital artist im in a unique position to colorpick off of photos, edit colors to get smth new and interesting, etc..lately ive been doing a lot of shit like doing a tone curve over a drawing that looks particularly flat (or using posterize on clip studio paint which creates some interesting new colors) and then painting or rendering over that . its easy to feel like thats "cheating" somehow but if the tools are there you should use them!!! heres how that works for me:

dean inherited his fathers weird thing about serial killer podcasts, except he likes to investigate cold case files. his favorite thing is looking at some old super famous unsolved mystery and realizing that it was probably because of a ghost or vampire or some shit, bc it makes him feel special that he (and a few other ppl) are the only ones who’ll ever know the real answer

sam (fitzgerald) very willingly does the trends with her he thinks it’s fun. actually lets talk about the fitzgerald twins

so basically they have the sweetest most loving least nuclear nuclear family ever. from my vague memory of the ep it’s just them, garth and bess, and their older sister who’s probably moved out so yknow. rowdy 18 year olds with the house to themselves. they’re super different but love each other and know how to live with each other after like over a decade of being the top and bottom bunk on the bunk bed (cas got top, sam was afraid of heights as a child)

they both wear the silver bullet necklaces that the whole family wears, n both are happy to. sam kind of secretly wishes he could just be a regular human boy, so he appreciates the message of “you’re just like a human! you are no better than them, so love everyone equally :).” cas actually kinda likes being a werewolf but he appreciates the message the necklace offers of “hey ur stronger and better than literally all humans but you can still die so, don’t eat them i guess.”

oh if you couldn’t tell cas is the emo one. sam took after the general fitzgerald household vibes of overeagerness and love and happy times! cas just tries to be… anything but that. he probably listens to, like, death grips.

he’s still a big hugger, though. kind of ruins his image when he’s saying goodbye to some acquaintance and almost instinctively goes in for a snuggle.

they both kinda tend to get into fights. there’s a similarly peaceful vampire family in town who just thinks they’re ~so much better~ than them, and it even pisses SAM off and he’s like a walking talking marshmallow cookie.

sam actually has like a secret aggressive streak just bc he’s very defensive over his family and friends. listen i know he sounds like a mary sue shut up shut up shut u—

sometimes cas gives jody piggyback rides if she asks nicely. he pretends to be super annoyed by it but he likes the opportunity to use his super strength every once in a while. sam is also very easily persuaded if jody asks nicely, but usually she is asking him to pick up dean just to piss him off.

i think it’s very funny how dean and cas are like the Intellectuals and they’ll talk about politics and current events and social justice and jody and sam are the Artists and will interrupt them to be like “look we broke two skateboards in half and then stuck them together in a plus sign shape to make the Mega Skateboard” and then jody tries it out in the driveway and then they have to drive to the hospital. huzzah

All over the place. i started at chimera ant because i was so confused my first watch, got half way through but got too sad and rewatched greed island again. finished that, back at chimera ant again...almost done. my first watch i actually wasnt really a fan of greed island...i feel like it was just a training arc really, and i didnt think the antagonists were that interesting. after finishing hxh i kinda looked back on it as a lighthearted but Decent arc, a nice segue from the stress but (compared to chimera ant) Normalcy of yorknew to the craziness of what was to come next. however.....upon watching it again, after knowing what all happens later? greed island hits so much different to me. as of right now, greed island is probably my favorite....but all of the arcs are so good in their own ways. as for favorite scene....ohghh my god i have so many...i dunno where you are in the show, if youve finished it or not!! so ill try not to get too spoilery but i really love gon and killuas interactions. im in love with how their friendship is written and how at a glace it looks so...black and white but once you learn more about the characters you realize how interesting and more...grey they are?? they are so Neat. sorry for this long ass rant i could and Will talk for hours about it!! thank you so much for the ask, it really means the world ((':> if youre still watchin i hope you like it!!! feel free to rant about the sillay little hunters in my ask box id love to hear your thoughts <333
