Our First St. Bernie Wedding!
Okay, I had planned to share these pictures at the end of the Martinez rotation, however, I still haven't actually stocked up my queue and this takes much less time to organize than an entire day's worth of screenshots...Over explanation below:
[Why you may ask? Well, it is Spooky Season after all and (fun little tid bit) having grown up in an actual haunted house (which at least in my experience is absolutely NOTHING like Hollywood portrays it) I've been in the mood to rewatch some of my favorite Halloween movies. BTW if you happen to have never watched "The Haunting of Hill House" on Netflix, it's an absolute masterpiece. Be aware that if you have any triggers, you may want to check for trigger warnings on it before watching. It will in short leave you haunted. ]
Okay, back to it
Here is Bella and Guy's album! BTW, I'm sorry they are so washed out in some of the outdoor pictures--I forgot to box them in, and this was my inspiration to start looking for ways to spruce up my outdoor lighting mods-- I don't have links for all of the cc right off hand, but if you have questions about any of the outfits or poses you can shoot me a message and I'll look through my mods folder for you :)
Bride: Bella Rose, Groom: Guy Summersville, Maid of Honor: Simili Socialby, Best Man: Korey Quick, Bridesmaid: Remi Blue, Groomsman: Freddie Cox

Yep, the hide headline cheat apparently didn't get rid of the grouped up icons...facepalm.
Aaaand I am just now realizing that Bella's arm is clipping through the stairs...double facepalm. As always, it's time for a few outtakes!
Tumblr media
Hmmm...got to find a way to hide some of those feet melding into the bench. I know it was a hot day, but geesh!
Tumblr media
I like to stash the pose player close by. Maybe it was a little too close here!
Tumblr media
I unpose the poor sims as I finish with them in photo shoots because they're always pretty miserable by the time I'm done. (don't worry, I use a separate save for photoshoots, so they have not memory, LOL) Maybe I should have waited to unpose Freddie. He was blocked from reaching the bathroom...

Do you know any good wlw movies/ TV shows on netflix? I've watched a few, I am not ok with this, Carol, duck butter, but im LESBIAN DEPRIVED!
~🌈
YOU AND ME BOTH GIRLY.
unfortunately almost all my favorite sapphic shows have been canceled especially the ones on netflix but i do still think theyre worth your time. but it might also kill you bc the story isnt finished. all these shows are also just amazing plots too. like i would love them just as much even if there wasnt wlw relationships.
heres what i got for shows but not all of these are on netflix.
the wilds. this is an AMAZING SHOW. its on amazon its about a staged plane crash where 8 girls are stuck on an island but they dont know that its all a fucked up social experiment. a lesbian relationship became established before it got canceled after s2.
cable girls. this is on netflix and it actually DIDNT GET CANCELED HALLELUJAH. its an amazing show but it actually doesnt really count as sapphic bc one of the characters in the wlw relationship ends up being trans. but its still a great queer love. this shows spanish and set in late 1920s madrid at a telephone company. its one of my favorite shows ever literally every season is better than the last plz watch it.
everything sucks. this is on netflix and it did get canceled but the lesbian relationship was mostly established before the end of the first season. its set in the 90s and its just a really cute show im mad it got canceled.
paper girls. this is on amazon and ngl this is one of the most painful sapphic show cancelations ive ever suffered through so if you dont wanna watch it just bc of that i dont blame you. its about these four young girls who accidentally time travel from the 80s to current day and meet their future selves. the gay girlies are heavily implied and foreshadowed but they dont get together before the end of the show :(
the last of us!!! not canceled its still going!! this show has an episode that shows a past sapphic relationship with the lesbian main character but the first season doesnt introduce a new relationship yet. the second season will tho. im sure youve heard about this or already watched it but its about a zombie-like pandemic from a deadly fungus and its total post apocalyptic. also AMAZING found family father/daughter trope. dare i say i actually think i like them more than el and hopper.
i really need to find more great sapphic movies.
my favorite lesbian movie of all time is portrait of a lady on fire. its a french period piece and its just beautiful and THERE ARE LIKE ZERO MEN IN THE WHOLE MOVIE. i think the only line a man has is “bonjour” and thats it. MY KINDA MOVIE!!!!! INSTANT 5 STARS!!!!! i love this movie. the initial premise is that a woman needs to be painted but she cant know that shes being painted so the other woman has to just study her while hanging out and then paint her from memory. it ends up being much more than that but gaaahhh if you only watch one of these make it this movie.
another iconic sapphic movie is but im a cheerleader. way different tone much less dramatic and more comedy but still never gets old.
you didnt mention books but im gonna give you book recs anyway.
seven husbands of evelyn hugo!!!!!!! im sure youve heard about this. i dont think its overrated at all it really was such a good book and dont let the title fool you its gay as hell. if youre really not a reader tho this is going to be a netflix movie soon.
an amazing duo book series is criers war. i LOVE scifi and fantasy and this is my favorite sapphic scifi story ive ever read/watched. i want this to be a movie or show so bad. its about a world where some people are people and some are what they refer to as “automa” which are essentially cyborgs but they look just like humans. crier is an automa and the daughter of a king and ayla is a poor human and she has a vendetta against crier bc her father was responsible for her familys murder but crier doesnt know this! so then ayla gets the job as her maid for the goal of killing her basically but of course it gets super gay instead. its such an interesting take on the enemies to lovers trope bc its one sided, cryer has no idea ayla considers her her enemy. also neither of them are white i think crier is brown and ayla is black.
i hope you like these! and if anybody else has lesbian story recs plz put it in the replies or rbs cuz i also need more lesbian content!!!

'Andrew Scott is set to begin filming a new movie in Ireland this summer. Blue Moon is based on a famous, real life singer-songwriter duo.
Scott, who recently wowed audiences with his performance in TV series Ripley, and All of Us Strangers alongside Paul Mescal, will star in the film directed by Richard Linklater. He will be in good company alongside Ethan Hawke, Margaret Qualley who starred in the Netflix series Maid, and Bobby Cannavale...
Linklater has collaborated with Ethan Hawke nine times previously, but it will be his first time working with Scott...'

for anyone looking for cute n sweet animes, I’m here to help you!!!
Yumeiro Patisserie ~ one of the sweetest anime I’ve watched! ( pun fully intended. ), it centers a girl who adores sweets and wants to enjoy them like her grandmother; who was a baker! She gets scouted for a prep school to be a pastry chef!! 10/10 - cute visuals, teaches a lot about baking, and is just an overall fun watch! ( Available on Hi-Dive! ).
Blend S ~ one of my all time favorite anime and series in general! It’s rather short, but definitely worth the watch! It follows Maika, a girl with a naturally sadistic face - who’s truly friendly, being found by the manager of a maid cafe; where each maid plays a different personality! It’s very sweet n cute - and has very cute visuals! All of the characters are likable, imo - and I’m hoping for a season 2 someday. 😢. ( Available on Crunchyroll! )
Tokyo Mew Mew ~ one of my favorite manga n anime series! It follows five girls who have been infused with the DNA of endangered animals; and have to go undercover working at a cafe to scout out different things for missions! It’s very sweet and cute! The OG series is currently on YouTube; and the remake is on Hi-Dive!
Kimi Ni Todoke ~ a super cute story and cast; with a third season in the works at Netflix! It follows Sawako, a girl who people find scary due to her resemblance of an iconic horror character ~ the only person who sees her for she truly is popular boy, Kazehaya, and this begins the start of a beautiful friendship and eventual romance! Very cute, and almost every character is likable!! ( Available on Crunchy Roll and Netflix! There’s also a live action adaptation of the series on Netflix! ).
Ouran High School Host Club - A classic shojo series that is about scholarship student, Haruhi, who just wants a quiet place to study and ends up finding herself in a music room turned host club for the wealthy students of Ouran High School; while trying to leave - she ends up breaking a vase and having to pay by being a host club member… all while faking her identity as a boy and getting into chaotic situations with the other members of the club! The series is pretty much on every streaming platform, but the ones I know of are Crunchyroll, Netflix, pretty sure it’s also on Hulu!
CardCaptor Sakura - my all time favorite anime and manga, and ultimately what got me into this type of media! It follows 10 year old, Sakura, as she finds a book in her father’s study and it releases mysterious cards, that she has to retrieve before they end up in the wrong hands! The entire series is adorable + and all the characters are likable and end up being supportive of each other. The series is on Crunchyroll and Netflix!
And finally, Onegai My Melody! It follows Uta Yumeno, who just wants to impress her upperclassman crush, with her violin playing skills - but ends up trusting the wrong person, naughty bunny, Kuromi! This causes chaos until she meets My Melody, and the two become the best of friends while trying to stop Kuromi from using her evil magic!
Some honorable mentions…
Sailor Moon ( 90’s series! ~ on YouTube and I believe Hulu! ).
The Precure Franchise. ( some of it is on Crunchyroll! ).
Marmalade Boy ( Crunchyroll )
and Jewel Pet! ( all on YouTube! )

How Jennifer Lopez Became a Megastar Celebrity and an Underrated Actress
By:  Kayleigh Donaldson
May 09, 2023
At a time when the concept of the A-Lister has dramatically changed and Hollywood is less concerned with creating new icons, it’s notable how Jennifer Lopez has remained an undisputed megastar for close to three decades. She’s instantly recognizable to the world: J.Lo, the indomitable celebrity who has conquered music, film, TV, fashion and every tabloid on the planet. In recent years, she’s experienced a resurgence of sorts, a minor renaissance thanks to the critical success of Hustlers, a co-headlining gig at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, and the eager revival of Bennifer. It seems like she’s never been more beloved, or taken more seriously by those who previously doubted her. She’s bounding into the action genre now with Netflix’s The Mother, a reminder that she’s that rare celebrity who is willing to try almost everything. Of course she’s a star, but that ambitious climb to the top came with a curious side effect. It made her a criminally underrated actress.
In the early ’90s, Lopez, fresh off her tenure as a Fly Girl on In Living Color, landed a few supporting gigs in quickly canceled TV shows before stepping onto the big screen. It didn’t take long for her to find a starring part in a Francis Ford Coppola film. Unfortunately, it was Jack. The real meat of her acting career came the year after that execrable schmaltz-fest’s flop release, in 1997. That year, Lopez had three major roles that revealed her to be a blossoming character actress with leading lady potential: U Turn, Blood and Wine, and Selena.
As a young Latina actress in an industry dominated by whiteness, Lopez was often put in unenviable positions during the beginnings of her acting career. Even in good roles, she had to face the racist mess of a business that saw all women of color as interchangeable. In U Turn, a deeply twisted black comedy from Oliver Stone, she is cast as a half Native American woman, while in the underrated sun-drenched noir Blood and Wine, she’s Cuban (Lopez is a New Yorker with Puerto Rican parents.) In these particular films, the male directors focus heavily on her sexuality, exoticizing her from a mere femme fatale into something more sinisterly Other. One can hardly blame her for, post-movie-star glow, choosing to be a rom-com headliner where her identity is not considered a hindrance to basic storytelling cues.
Yet her work in these films is strong, for Lopez has always possessed a unique charisma that seems primed for cinematic glory. She’s impossible to look away from, inhabiting the screen as though it was her absolute right to do so. In U Turn, which was dismissed by critics at the time for being luridly nihilistic, she plays a woman trapped in an incestuous relationship with her father. When an overtly harried Sean Penn rolls in, stuck with no chance of escaping a hellish Arizona town, she latches onto him immediately in the hopes that he will kill her father/husband for the insurance money. The character evokes Barbara Stanwyck in Double Indemnity, the queen of the femme fatales who always seems two steps ahead of every hot-headed guy in the room. Lopez, who looks super young here, is as good at calculated manipulation as she is at displays of stunted naivety. Is she a victim? A manipulator? Does it even matter, especially when the ensemble is stacked to the gunnels with violent scumbags? If everyone plays dirty, you go dirtier, and that sly caustic edge to Lopez’s performance hammers that home.
It’s a skill that also shines in Blood and Wine, where she has believable sexual chemistry with Jack Nicholson as his maid girlfriend who helps him to pull off a ramshackle heist. As Gabriela, she truly loves Nicholson’s Alex, a failing wine merchant who needs to steal diamonds from his mistress’s employer to stave off the debt collectors. Bob Rafelson’s film is vintage noir, so acerbic and cynical about humanity that it seems constantly at odds with the burning sunshine and picturesque locales of Miami. Gabriela’s genuine affection for Alex, a man who certainly doesn’t deserve it, is a sliver of light in this pitch-black narrative. For Lopez, it’s a chance, albeit in a relatively underdeveloped role, to show her mettle as a figure of integrity surrounded by losers and scammers. Of course, both Blood and Wineand U Turn were stepping stones to perhaps her best film role, and her strongest display of noir prowess, Steven Soderbergh’s Out of Sight. During this period, it felt like Lopez could have chemistry with absolutely everything, so it was no wonder she seemed primed to be a major actress.
With Selena, Lopez became impossible to ignore. Gregory Nava’s biopic is standard stuff for the genre, but Lopez’s performance as the late Tejano icon elevates it. She clearly did her homework, staying with Suzette Quintanilla, Selena’s sister, to study the late singer’s movements, and it shows in her energy and effervescence as a hard-working woman who has been primed for stardom from an early age. There’s real sweetness in Selena, a stark contrast to the seductresses of Lopez’s other ’97 dramas. It’s not mimicry so much as Lopez finding real life amid the stifling biopic tropes, which is no mean feat even before you remember that Selena’s life and death were still painfully fresh in audiences’ minds. When Nava allows the camera to stay still and simply focus on Selena (and Lopez) as a performer, the magic shines through for both women.
By the end of the ’90s, Lopez had begun her music career, releasing her debut album, On the 6, in 1999. The hits rolled in, with her slick combination of pop, Latin, and R&B giving her a number of big sellers and helping to kick off the Latin explosion of the mainstream American charts. While she never stopped acting, it was clear where her superstar priorities lay. She became a romantic comedy leading lady, one with major commercial clout even if the critics felt abandoned by her change of pace. But it didn’t exactly matter, not when she was making so much money and dominating every magazine cover.
Selling over 80 million records goes a long way, but it was also a reminder that Hollywood prefers limitations on its stars. It’s never been wild about multi-hyphenates like Lopez who jump between singing, acting and more, certainly not in the way that is more commonplace in China and South Korea. The supposed sanctity of the Movie Star (read: white male actors who don’t make rom-coms) has taken a long time to be deconstructed to allow the slightest sliver of change. If the options for Lopez were to define her image on her own terms via commercial success or stay in indie films where she may or may not have to rise above a racialized stereotype, you can hardly blame her for picking the former. Maid in Manhattan isn’t good, but at least she didn’t have to pretend to be Native American in it.
Lorene Scafaria’s Hustlers, wherein Lopez played a queen bee stripper who leads a gang of sultry robberies on gormless punters, was the shot in the arm audiences needed to be reminded of Lopez’s character actress strengths. Her character Ramona, clad in furs with dollar bills tucked into her bra, is the endgame of her late ‘90s femmes, only this one yields nothing to men. She’s a figure of utmost control, so single-minded in her agenda that you can’t help but fall in line with her demands, even as a viewer. But she’s no simple anti-hero: When the gang’s plans go awry, Ramona’s forcefulness seems much less appealing. It’s a performance that makes you wish Lopez would play more villains; the Jimmy Cagney role in Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye rather than the Barbara Payton one, for example. And yes, she should have been nominated for an Oscar.
Lopez is back in leading roles now, returning to romantic comedies alongside a few more varied films on Netflix that could continue her multimedia domination. There’s a new album on the horizon, a collaboration with new husband Ben Affleck, and some newsletters to publish. Perhaps, amid the busiest schedule in Hollywood, she’ll find time to take on a role worthy of her talents. It’ll be worth the wait.
