A New Outlook on Life

Oh, Boy! Another new baby and some more stalking followed up by some rebound canoodling! Andrew, get it together dude!

With town drama out of the way, it's back to our actual household!

Just a little skill building to start the new day.

And a whole new lighting mod! I know I hinted at this weeks ago, and here we finally are! I started testing out different lighting mods for the remainder of my time in St. Bernie. I've been using Fresh Cut Day by @brntwaffles with @gelinagelina's Lighting Tweaks, but had been toying with the idea of using different lighting for different world play throughs.

Up first is the BEAUTIFUL Sims 3 Beta Lighting Mod by @boringbones. Seriously! It looks like I have some Reshade or HD mod going on, it is so clear and bright and the shadows are absolutely gorgeous!

Along with testing new lighting mods, I installed Tree and Plant Replacements (also by boringbones); Reworked And Improved EA Lights by simsi45; More Light Coming Through Windows by Blyss; the Electrical Storm Mod by @mathmodder; and TS3 HD Texture Series-Terrain Pack by @greenplumbboblover.

And here we are! It's a sunny spring day, perfect for a trip to the town plaza to meet up with Gerald!

I can't get over how crisp everything looks!

Hey! We're outside in the sun and you can ACTUALLY see Simili's face! She's not all washed out or too dark to distinguish! I haven't gone for Reshade or Gshade yet, because my main focus is gameplay and I've always been a little afraid that keeping either of those programs going in the background would cause my usually smooth gameplay to stutter or crash so for me and my screenshots, this lighting mod is seriously game changing. I couldn't stop zooming around looking at everything!

Simili has been waiting for a while here...where is Gerald?

Of course it did...Well, this doesn't exactly bode well for their relationship, now does it?

Guess it's back home for Simili...I wonder what was so important for Gerald anyway?

At least he's got principles I guess, maybe he's concerned about how much the medical bills will be for the birth of that baby...Still doesn't explain the location, but you know...Sims...

I went to see what was going on at the City Park. How adorable! Pablo is teaching little Stevie to talk! In his pajamas, that I discovered from this point on he was always wearing LOL! And who's that? Guy Summersville and one of his dogs playing drums dressed as a robot? Again with the Sims logic! Bahahaha!!

Oh wait! I hear some commotion!

Who is that!!?? Never a dull moment in St. Bernie!

O...M...G!! Bahahahaha! A burglar and a mime!!?? Why is this so funny to me?!

Nothing like a couple of random townies brawling in the park! This, right here, is the beauty of an open world with story progression! I don't even know who these two are and neither Simili, nor Barky was even here today! This is just what was randomly going on in the park while my sims are doing whatever they're doing! Same with the protest Gerald was attending! This is the best part of TS3, there is ALWAYS something going on somewhere in town!

Love Day Plans

It's Love Day and now that Gerald is moved in I can see his wants and he has some special plans for Simili this morning! I hope she says yes!

Look at him up early to make pancakes for her!

Even Barky got a few scraps that fell on the floor :) After breakfast it was time to work on another new Sci Fi Novel, Gerald's favorite books to write!

I took this as a sign from my game that he was writing a sequel to "Warp Factor Infinity" and I had the perfect title for his new work. LOL!

I get the impression that Gerald is feeling a bit nervous about his plans for tonight. He ran over to visit Andrew, for some encouragement maybe?

Oh boy, he must be nervous because he got sloshed at the sports bar on the way home! How romantic...I sure hope he can get the words out right! LOL!

Sorry lady, but that earned you a reset sim! Barky even decided to guard his favorite chair against any other intruders.

Somehow that earned him and adventurous trait, unless this notification had been hiding under a few others for a while. Which, let's be honest, is a total possibility :)

On a Hot Summer's Day

It's been a few days since I've filled my queue, but I have a minute between Halloween and multiple children's birthday parties, so I'll do my best!

Brooks, like a good boy, is up bright and early to deliver the newspaper...along with a couple of notifications! Yay!! Another wedding in the works! Unfortunately, I suspect I won't be on rotation for it, but don't worry, as with Redwood Harbor, I plan to take some posed pictures for an album!

Jasmine was up before Shorty of course so she had a little fun before taking care of Ephraim. It's a weekend so everyone is home...well, off of work.

I guess Story Progression didn't take my que when naming the Garrett's new LO. Jill, Joe, Blake?? One of these things is not like the other! Oh well, it's a solid name. And I try to stay away from renaming babies born to SP unless I absolutely need to for keeping my sims straight. I may be alone in this, but my gameplay feels more immersive to me the less I interfere.

With Shorty still asleep and Jasmine again in need of some cheering up, it was time to fulfill at least one small want of hers. Take Ephraim and Brooks for a walk!

It was super cute, but it didn't take long before everyone was all sweaty and miserable. It is summer after all, and I do have my tempest settings set to a sub-tropical climate for St. Bernie!

Oh no! And Ivy is expecting their child too! I really hope this doesn't turn into another weird Korey and Angela situation where Freddie starts hooking up with all of her friends!

Wedding Album for Simili and Gerald

Since my SP married these two waaay earlier than I was expecting, I took that as my game saying they had a very low key wedding. At first, I was going to pose pictures outside of City Hall, but I couldn't resist the view from the Ferry terminal, unfortunately it was a rainy day in the save I made for the pictures (as it was actually in game when they got married). So, I don't have many pictures, but enjoy!

--I used poses from a variety of creators, and cc clothing/hair of course, so let me know if you want me to look up anything in particular! There are so many talented creators out there!

--ps ignore the clipping...Simili's dress and hair were fuller than I was expecting, lol!

I had hide headline effects on so I don't know why the grouped up icon was showing...also apparently that doesn't get rid of the cellphone chimes...facepalm.

Working Dogs

Rain again!

And Milo is hungry!

Way to go Guy! I'm kind of bummed it wasn't enough to get you a promotion, but you've got to be close!

Milo is sure after some attention this morning!

Chico is busy digging holes around the yard. I should complain, but these dogs have been earning their keep with all the valuable collectables they seem to find! I should have taken a screenshot because she had enough rocks and gems in her inventory to add 3,000 Simoleons to the family coffers! Good Girl!

Oh gosh! Everyone wants to go for a walk!

Oh lort! I am stoked that these two are expecting because I love them both and love them as a couple. I just wonder what hair color that kid is going to get cursed with though!

Isaiah as per usual was made using randomization so he's prematurely gray and Lori (who was made about 8 years ago now) has hair inspired by a bad dye job. That poor kid!

What!!??? I'm pretty sure my sp is set to a minimum of six month (10 sim day) engagements, so how did this happen? They got engaged while I was in rotation with them! Oh well, time to pose a new wedding album I guess :)

Guy read a parenting book when he got home from work and then got a work out in...in a scarf and cardigan no less...facepalm.

Oh look! Freddie got promoted! Maybe he can afford his child support payments now.

Sunburn City

It's Leisure Day and it looks like it's Guy's turn to tend the dogs...after unclogging the toilet of course! Who is that with the paper? Aww.. it's Milo, the tiniest of the Summersville pups!

Bella and Guy spent some time playing with Milo and the second of their smaller dogs, Joy, before heading off to the beach for the huge Leisure Day Party they've planned!

Op! Does this mean Ivy has finally given up on making things work with Freddie?

Here we are! All the guests are arriving and though none of the pregnancy meshes are working for swimwear apparently (probably because of my altered aging and 15 day long pregnancies) There are SEVERAL pregnant Sims here. Bella, Remi, Simili and Wanda...maybe not Wanda...did she give birth already? I'll have to check back in my own posts. The baby wave is so out of control in this town I can't keep track!

Guy was immediately playing good host making drinks at the bar.

Honestly, it looks to be a success! Everyone is having a chill time at the beach, no typical chaos in sight.

Bella got to work toasting some marshmallows...You're starting to look a little crispy yourself Bella! Watch out and don't get overheated or anything with that baby you're expecting!

Wow...so we're a celebrity now? I guess that would explain the invasion of personal bubble with those paparazzi snapping pics!

Our First St. Bernie Wedding!

Okay, I had planned to share these pictures at the end of the Martinez rotation, however, I still haven't actually stocked up my queue and this takes much less time to organize than an entire day's worth of screenshots...Over explanation below:

[Why you may ask? Well, it is Spooky Season after all and (fun little tid bit) having grown up in an actual haunted house (which at least in my experience is absolutely NOTHING like Hollywood portrays it) I've been in the mood to rewatch some of my favorite Halloween movies. BTW if you happen to have never watched "The Haunting of Hill House" on Netflix, it's an absolute masterpiece. Be aware that if you have any triggers, you may want to check for trigger warnings on it before watching. It will in short leave you haunted. ]

Every Ending is a Beginning

Over night there was another birth and another break up. I absolutely wasn't surprised this one didn't last...in fact I was surprised it lasted so long! Of course, this now means Korey will be paying child support on THREE children! Good luck!

It's another sunny morning and Barky is outside chasing the mail carrier off the porch.

I wish...I really like these two better than Freddie with Angela, and they do have little Nickolas together, but I have a feeling this is too good to be true.

I'm going to be honest...it's been...a while since this week was actually played through so I'm not entirely sure who I was following, if anyone when I got this lovely picture of Brooks playing guitar at the Ferry Terminal. I'm about 90% sure it was Barky because I think Simili was at work at the Science facility and Gerald was home writing, but I don't know for certain. Anyway, it's a good picture, I think :)

Just some more scenic pictures around town while Gerald skipped off to the diner. My time here is winding down. We've accomplished a lot of wants this round. Simili is doing well at work, Gerald is selling more books than ever and the two are now engaged. Simili should be giving birth soon after I leave and I think they're in a pretty good place!

Good Morning Star Shine

The rain cleared off over night and it appears Angela has switched partners yet again...This girl is the definition of a commitment phobe!

Simili took advantage of the beautiful weather to work on her chess strategies and it paid off, literally!

In the meantime, the world is blooming again and I noticed that as I feared, one of my retextures made all of the Cherry Blossoms green instead of pink. When I was making St. Bernie, I specifically covered this hillside with Cherry Blossoms so it would be like a little hidden (not so hidden) gem of pink in all of the green. So, I tracked down the file for those specific trees and removed it as you'll see in the next household. I was sorry to lose the improved leaf texture, but for me the pink was more important :)

Gerald spent the day inside working on his novel. At this rate, he'll be as prolific as Alicia (Monk) Baldwin in my Redwood Harbor playthrough by the next time I'm in this household!

Way to go Gerald!

He was invited to the Williams for a party and after all that writing he NEEDED some relaxation!

Oh...yeah...How could I forget!? The Williams have children...

Five of them...Two toddlers and three infants to be exact...and ONE crib! Geeze I am HOPING they have enough to move into a large home once I get to this household!

Gerald didn't let that stop him from rocking out though. Careful not to step on a kiddo, Gerald!

Normally, I'd just ignore these kinds of notifications...but...

Are you kidding me!!?? Already flaking out on your child support payments so you can buy a fancy new vehicle!?

On the bright side, Simili FINALLY got Gerald to come over once his protest was over and things seem to be going well. Maybe they ARE really serious about each other.

Until...oh no! It's a full moon, don't tell me this is my game trying to get poor Gerald turned into a zombie!

Ha! I knew it!! I don't think so, I've tried so hard just to get him to come over!

Fortunately I had one more trick up my sleeve. Clicking on the bed for a woohoo before he got attacked! LOL! I knew he couldn't resist that!

Barky kept himself occupied howling along with the radio, LOL!

Argh! Seriously?? Taking the trash out randomly after woohooing?? Come on game, I SEE that zombie, I know what you're trying to do!

Thankfully, he managed to make it inside safely and Simili decided she wanted to take things to the next level with Gerald! Whether this is inspired by love or because they've got a kiddo on the way together she asked him to move in!

It's that Time of Year Again...No not that One...Tax Time

We begin Spring with everyone's favorite time of the year...Tax collection.

And refunds for some lucky Sims, so I guess it's not ALL bad!

Oh hey! Lori got promoted! Hopefully that means I won't have to spend my next rotation with her dumpster diving for extra cash!

Okay, finally on to the Socialby household! With Bella married and moved out, there's only Simili and little dog Barky left.

Fun fact. Simili is named after the Simself I made waaay back when the Sims Social was on Facebook (Meta). Get it? Simili Socialby?? LOL! Anyway, you may have noticed I'd changed up her look when I made her for TS3, but I kept the name.

Simili is currently preggers with Gerald O'Connor's child so she woke up with the want to get a massage and I obliged. In the meantime, I did...what else...checked out who else was in the area. I came across Nan Garrett in the dojo and snapped some pretty awesome screenshots if I don't say so myself! You go Nan!

Okay, the massage is done and it was off to the library to catch up on some reading.

Hmm...I feel like there are several sims in St. Bernie who could use some advice from that book, LOL!

Simili, of course, finished the book and then immediately went to flirt with Donnell Doughtery! Girl! Not only are you currently dating Gerald, but you're having his child! Have you learned nothing??!!

Barky was still at home playing toys, but Simili was starving...and I don't exactly trust her zero skill points in cooking, especially on an empty stomach so it was off to the Bistro!

OMG! Was this fight over Remi??!! I got a recent notification that Andrew was stalking her, and she's currently engaged to Brooks. I can't help but to think they were fighting over her!

This got me thinking...I better see what Simili's relationship status is with Gerald considering she was flirting with Donnell earlier in the day. Exploring their options...hmm...I'm not sure what to make of that. Maybe she's just not that into him, although they've been back together for nearly nine Sim months. Maybe tomorrow she should give him a call and invite him out so I can better see the dynamics of their relationship.

More Tricks than Treats

Okay, I know I haven't been on here in a several days...life is super hectic as per usual! Anyway, here we are back with Lori for Spooky Day. I found her autonomously digging through her trash and that gave me an idea! What better day to go dumpster diving in the hopes we can find something valuable enough to pay bills!

Also, woohoo! Another wedding is in the works! And another break up it seems as well.

Yes! We can finally afford to pay bills! We've avoided the repo man for one more week at least! I got so into the game that I literally forgot to take pictures of Lori while she dumpster diving at the Sports Bar across town. But that's okay, after all that stinky work, she deserves a little fun.

Time for another date night! Hmm...I wonder who else is at the dance club tonight?

Tom Garrett!! Didn't see that one coming! I wonder if Wanda's going to order whatever Brooks is eating? And Angela must have needed a break from the twins. I have a feeling she hires babysitters a lot!

Oh boy! Not only have the Lum twins aged up, but there's a new little bundle of joy on the way for Simili and Gerald! Gosh I'm hoping it's not another twin situation, with so many babies being born, I don't know how St Bernie will be able to house the next generation!

Isaiah seems to be having more fun than he did on the last date LOL, but Lori wants to ensure she's blowing his mind tonight...

I'd tell them to be careful, but it looks like Lori's already got that in mind...Or maybe Isaiah is really into the full parka look for romance...with these two, who knows? LOL!

This Sim Makes Me so Sad

Welcome to the first of the Redden households. Jasmine Reed lives with her boyfriend, Shorty Redden and son Ephraim. Originally the household had another adult, Lori, but she moved out via SP at the beginning of the playthrough. Both Shorty and Jasmine are in the medical career track, but neither has progressed beyond the entry level.

I kept getting an interaction from the mailbox to return stolen item. I assumed Shorty had stolen thing, but no...

Jasmine!! Really??

Ephraim was down for a nap when they got home from work. They had a few moments to chat before Shorty ran off to a party he'd been invited to at the Lum's.

I almost forgot about the dog! This one I remember the name of because it is Brooks. He was named through SP, but Shorty HATES Brooks Cassidy so I can't help but feel like he named his dog Brooks on purpose as a dig to Brooks the human sim. I have no way around this...Shorty is NOT a very nice Sim and I feel so bad for Jasmine and Ephraim, but Jasmine is devoted to him.

Shortly after Shorty left for the party, she spontaneously began crying about her life! It's so sad. I'm sure she'd love to get out some too, but financially they are on a sinking ship so her entire life consists of work, paying bills and taking care of Ephraim, who still doesn't sleep through the night. I'm going to be honest, she really got to me. She has such a sad Sim life. I'm going to see what I can do to help her out.

Apparently the party at the Lum's was formal.

Shorty is checking on the twins while Teddy cooked.

Interesting...I don't think I'd put these two together, but here we are...

He abandoned the party to play guitar out in the front yard of the Lum's.

Back with Shorty and um...I think everyone else has gone to bed. Perhaps it's time to go home?

Part Time Job

Tom and Nan enjoyed a little "me" time while the kids were still in bed.

Then it was off to the dance studio for some more practice for Jill. Looks like Isaiah is just leaving the dojo and Pablo already there!

As an over achiever Jill can't stay busy enough...so she got a part time job at the spa!

Joe and Nan had some nice bonding time.

And I discovered the sims couldn't get past the columns I placed in the family center and rather than just use the other exit like an actual person would, they decided to congregate exactly there to tell me what a failure as a builder I am...FACEPALM

But hey, at least Jill improved her ice skating ability

Yay!!! Our first wedding in Isle of St. Bernie!! Oooh...I have to start picking out dresses and such for the photo shoot because I doubt I'll be in either household by the time they tie the knot!

Oh no! A break up too! And loss of a friendship.

Guess I'll just peruse around town because I'm bummed about Gerald and Simili.

And follow Tom to the landromat where he ran into Isaiah.

Looks like Jill has finally tired of running around herself and decided on a nice night in.

Joe was back to cleaning house before turning on his computer games, which he played long into the night.

Well after that eventful evening we begin day two with a beautiful sunny view of the park and some town news.

Gerald did some collecting once he got up.

OMG! Lawerence must have gotten his drivers license! Yay! Go Lawerence, you were always one of my favorite premade sims!

Lilly and Theodore got vehicles too!

And Simili now wants her boyfriend to write a biography on her! I'll accept, but Gerald is already hard at work on his latest novel so I don't know he'll have time to finish this opportunity before my time with him is done.

Just writing while Freddie is at work.

It's the end of the night, Gerald is off to bed uncharacteristically early and it looks like Freddie is getting on well at work!
