It may not seem like it but I'm a longtime suffer/survivor of many types of mental health, more so depression. I refuse to be a prisoner of my disease. I hate how every action or word that comes from me is blamed on my mental health. If I'm upset "oh it's your bpd" no it's not I'm a person not my illness and I have every right to emotions just like everyone else people seem to paint me with this brush full of negative behaviours, bpd, depression and anxiety. Anxiety

Today, my anxiety decided to pop up and try to ruin my plans.. I had my daughter all dressed and myself dressed and ready to go do some Christmas shopping and boom.... here comes that overwhelming feeling of not wanting to leave the house, it’s too “peopley” out there.

My daughter anxiously awaited the words: “let’s ride, Clyde”, as I always say to her before we go on a little outing or shopping adventure... she could sense something was off and she walked up to me and put her little hand on my face and asked me: “mommy, what’s wrong?”

... I think she can relate to me, she’s got social anxiety and tends to think people are staring at her and she doesn’t like it when it’s too “peopley” either..

Eventually, I mustered up the umph, reassured myself I could do this and we hit Starbucks first then target and together we worked through the overwhelming. The uncomfortable. We stepped out of our comfort zone...and we made it through, knocking out a huge chunk of shopping.

Having support is something I could never express enough gratitude for.. when I thank God for the blessings in my life, I thank him twice for the strength to overcome and the beautiful daughter he gave me that just........ gets me.

I’m not sure what to call this. I’ve felt so “high” for so long so energetic so full of life and beautiful. Now, even though I’m not too low I know its different. Even though I still want to wake up and do everything its not the same. I feel myself starting to overthink everything once more.  Some would say Im regaining some control. Control---This is what started this in the first place. I lost so much control and composure. I feel a quick crash coming. Im getting more exhausted by the minute. I’ve done everything exactly the same, but yet its different. Yet, I’m beginning to see clearly again. It was as if i was running through a fog  but yet going through an illusion of clarity and a deep sense of well being. Like nothing could stop me. I miss feeling like that - I had everything!

I've cut my hair several times in the past, but this time was different...circumstances needed me to start over. Circumstances needed me to let go of my need to control the uncontrollable. I try not to ask why me, but sometimes I wonder, and all God replies to me with is...why not you. Learning to accept my circumstance and realize certain things are just temporary inconveniences is probably my most rearwarding and hardest challenge.
