We were displaced to southern Gaza after the heavy shelling, and our home was completely destroyed🍉🍉. Now, we are living in tents for displaced people.

Apparently much-needed reminder that reposting artists' art (by saving the images or screenshotting them and reuploading them yourself) on other platforms without the artists' expressed permission and without credit is theft and an insult to their passion and craft. You are profiting (in views, in attention, in feedback) from someone else's work and ideas, who do not get that feedback for sharing their creation.
If you are an art reposter, you are a thief and I have no respect for you.

I'm noticing an uptick in comments complaining that most of the current WIR fandom content is Turbo instead of the other characters and, like... you guys know you can search other characters by their specific tags, right??? Or exclude Turbo from search results by temporarily blacklisting him in your filtered tags?
Idk, it's just weird to me to be discouraging towards people making fandom content just because it's not the specific content you want to see, like, it's ok to want to see other content, but complaining about how other people aren't catering to your tastes enough instead of just making the content you want to see yourself is kinda bad vibes, y'know?? (And that's not to say that I think those comments are intended out of malice of course, I really don't think they are, I just wanted to point out that it can come off as a little entitled, as well as discouraging towards people who just want to draw Turbo, which is something that should be fine if that's what they want to do. Fandom should be fun for everybody, and there's lots of tools available to curate your experience with it!)
#Wreck It Ralph#It also doesn't help that there was a solo Fix-It Felix drawing literally right there only a few posts down from one of these posts and-#-it went ignored?? Like people are going to draw more of the characters you want if you actually show appreciation towards those posts guys#Also this isn't towards any one specific person it's a complaint I've seen like four times in the past few days and I'm like ???guys???#Like heck the entire reason I started writing a Candybug fic was because I couldn't find any SFW fics with him as a Cy-bug#So I was like “Oh ok then I guess I'll just do it myself” lol#And then there's that person who was like “I want more Ralph+Vanny content” and then drew an AWESOME VANELLOPE LIKE??#This is something I also noticed a while back with people making passive-aggressive posts about artists that don't draw Turbo chubby#Like it's ok to not vibe with that but what do you gain from making people feel bad about how they do things y'know?#Be the change you want to see in the world!! Create art for the other characters you like!!!#The one thing we all have in common is our ability to create! So if you can't find the kind of things you want to see from others then-#-try making it yourself! It's lots of fun and then you can also provide more art for other people who might be looking for what you were!#Idk maybe I'm just overthinking things I have no idea lol#I just feel like risking discouraging or making people feel bad about just creating Turbo stuff isn't the way to go about it

Every day I am haunted by the fact JJK could be amazing but it will be just idk Bleach or something
#I've seen a lot of people complaining about the fact that it's impossible to fit the ending of every unfinished arc#in the five chapters that remain for the manga to end for good#And it all just... legitimises my fear and apprehension haha#And it's a pity! It's a pity! The dynamics were so good! And yet nothing! Sukuna was so good! And yet nothing!#It was so nice how he seemed to play with the idea of transcending human categories and values but even the values of curses so to speak#Well beyond everything. Well beyond positive/creative nihilism even! He was not like Mahito#I wonder if Mahito is more a negative nihilism with a funny edge or a positive nihilism. For now it seems positive#with how he seems to have said something like 'nothing matters so we can do whatever we want and create what matters'#But Sukuna transcends all that! It could have been interesting to see how that developed in a way that wasn't just childish edginess#But no. And then there's all the idea of curses and sorcerers not being all that different#and so not really entirely possible to say one side is good and the other bad#There was the idea of the very source of powers with fear and love playing a role here in such a juicy way#And then there's the entire thing happening with Gojo as a concept and the very concepts he plays with which I could eat like an apple#but also I would let those very concepts eat at my heart as a worm inside an apple#Full of holes and rotting inside out and yet delighting at the sweetness#It could all be so good! And yet! Most of the manga is a few sketched dynamics and concepts and a very long fight with Sukuna#promising half finished arcs#WHY it could have been so good. And I don't think criticism is a matter of 'fans being spoiled! Go write your story!' or something#It's not a matter of things not going as fans would want them to be. It's a matter of not writing well#or cohesively things established by the author themselves. And I think that's a fair criticism#If we are to take manga as an art‚ which I wholeheartedly support‚#then we can subject mangas to artistic or literary or whatever you want to call it analysis. There are works that are better constructed#than others‚ and there are works that have good ideas but poor execution. And it's always a pity#In the case of JJK it's truly breaking my heart and the comments I see around about these five last chapters are not helping xD#God it could be so good. So good. And I'm not talking about in specific to me‚ which yes that too given the topics‚#but just so good in general. It could be so good. It could have been so good#And yet it's starting to look more and more like any other shonen. It truly breaks my heart haha#I talk too much#Jujutsu Kaisen#I used Bleach because I think that's one of the mangas that has been the most a let down to the friends I have who like shonen

i have a headache
#i've been stuck scrolling instagram for the past few days#i don't even like being on there#modern ig is so overstimulating everything is either a reel or a reel in disguise or an image post that inexplicably has audio#i kept making myself go on there because i wanted to find a way to make art friends or a community or w/e#and i thought if i had more of a presence and interacted more i'd eventually get people to like. talk to me and comment stuff ig. idk#but ughhhh#i don't think insta is a good platform for that cause it's either pictures with a short caption or the worst media format known to man#like. idk i wanted to find and follow and be friends with and be Cool Artists (don't ask me to define that)#but no artist on instagram is a Cool Artist because there's no goddamn text on there#like if it makes sense i wanna find people who talk About art as well#but not in an art Discourse way#which is another thing. even if instagram had more Talking it would still be shit because the mainstream 'art community' is insufferable#art tiktok is that on steroids#and instagram is is bootleg tiktok#the same five discourse topics jokes memes advice whatever the only difference is now they're circlejerking about ai too#i wanna be Casual and Spontaenous and Mysterious and shit but IG's layout makes me feel like i can't just post whatever#i feel this pressure to give my posts all the same format and add tags and do this and do that and have good Branding or w/e#and it's just ughhh why can't I be a famous enigma (<- doesn't make or share anything)#even on tumblr the pressure is the same#and at the same time i hate looking back on my art accounts (both ig and here) because it just. doesn't align with what i wanna do#like my attempts at categorising and tagging and being consistent#it's just so. yuck#i want to have a Good Brand but i also want to be 'real' but then i look back at my disjointed messy past work and i cringe#i think i need to block my irls from my art accounts bc i feel super embarassed trying to do any typical Get Noticed on Social Media thing#cause it feels embarassing being seen doing shit that's ''influencer-y'' (idk what to call it)#cause it feels out of character to how i actually am in real life#but also why i do want to show my ''real'' character? I'm not cool#and that's another thing I've had these accounts for ages#looking at my past posts makes me fuckign cringe#I want to purge them or start over

I think if you're a huge Sonic fan it's perfectly fine and valid to have critiques about the series and the way the writers handle it, because like. Y'know. It's healthy and shit to be able to critique your interests, even the ones you have the biggest attachment to. But if it's getting to a point where you're wishing the loss of a job, physical harm, or even death on people who have been creatively involved in the series because they "ruined it" then you need to dial it way wayyy back and also maybe get a hobby and perhaps seek therapy

Brain: Here is a fully fleshed out idea for five comic pages plus an alternate ending and bonus material!
Me: Oh, cool, so I can sketch it all out real quick, clean it up a little, and then post it in just a couple days?
Brain: NO
Me: ...Excuse me?
Brain: Ink and color it.
Me: .......................That will take weeks.
Brain: Do it, coward
Me: Nope. It's going to be a cleaned up sketch comic.
Brain: You can lie to your hands all you want, but I'll be the one making them move.
In the end, it was not a cleaned up sketch comic.
and before anyone asks, yes it is narilamb

#I have thoughts about the new tour yet I am not sure if I should share (given why I do so in tags)#I am not surprised to see denmark is absent#I am a bit surprised to see no scandinavian country AT ALL#not surprised to see germany and the uk have most dates (that's sadly something I've seen a lot from bands/artists I like)#a little befundled with the route he has scheduled for both germany and the uk dates#glad to see other countries like switzerland france and the netherlands get their debut#not surprised it is in october since that seems to be around the same time for his europe antics last year as well#all this said I am a bit conflicted what to do myself#I'd like to go to gigs on this tour#yet I've already run out of the country four times these past upcoming five months (three times to finland)#since it is quite expensive and maybe not something I will have time for given I hopefully get an internship in august#with that in mind I feel like I should probably go for only a few dates#and yet last time I felt very much like I was missing out and overlooked because I didn't go to “more than two shows”#and here is where I feel like my thoughts are probably not great#i was thinking about maybe going for hamburg as first priority since it is the closest (4 hours in train)#then have frankfurt and munich as second priorities making it a little mini tour#I am not sure if I'd physically and mentally be able to do more than three gigs in a row#yet if I am I sort of want to go to zurich too because I've never been there#two days to decide is not very long#I feel very stressed tbh#and I hope noone will take this in any wrong way#please I really dont want to feel shit again#I know my last concert related take was on the fence#(even though as it turned out the venue did worse than me in that regard)#but this one is really just me thinking about what would be the smartest plan#other possible options would be to go for zurich since it is in a weekend (sunday) and then - depending on whether or not I have work#either go home or follow jere to amsterdam (then maybe paris and brussels)#another option is berlin then hamburg and then to home from there (so two shows)#or london and bristol since its the weekend (maybe manchester as well if it is not far - so up to three shows)#the latter I am a bit concerned about since being trans in the uk is not great atm

For folks who buy/sell characters
I've seen things go either way (tho mostly one way in my personal experience) and I wanted to see what the general consensus was. Do you think it's fair game to add your own art's worth? Or is it an underhanded way of price gouging a character? Vote to decide! And ofc Reblog for larger sample pls same as all polls lol

Tbh I'm glad that sp artists dont do that "reblogs > likes" thing. I was a little worried when a few people put it on their posts a while back, but it died off pretty quickly.
#1) 'always reblog every single piece of fan art you interact with' wouldnt really work in this fandom since liking sp is considered-#-taboo on tumblr. Reblogging sp fan art requires admitting to your moots that you like sp. That's why a lot of popular sp fan art has-#-really high like to reblog ratios#2) from what i've seen most of the artists doing the 'reblogs > likes' people are fresh from twitter and mostly only care about the numbers#-tumblr is getting more traffic now than it did a few years ago; but it's still not where you want to go if reaching a lot of people-#-is all that you want#3) not too long ago i was in another fandom where begging for reblogs was common practice. Let me tell you how that turned out. -#-first it started as 'reblogs > likes' on every piece of fan art. Then it was posts going around saying that 1 to 10 reblogs to likes was-#-a pathetically sad ratio. Then it was 'always reblog because you are singlehandedly responsible for an artist's mental health'. -#-then it was putting 'please reblog; likes do NOTHING' on every fan art. Then it was begging for even more reblogs because-#-1 to 2 likes to reblogs ratio was pathetically sad. Then it was 'by not reblogging you are telling an artist to end it all' gaining-#-traction among rpf proshippers.#Look. I get it. I'm not as public about it anymore; but i'm a fan artist and fic author too. I sympathize with working hard on something-#-and wanting a lot of people to see it. But if people quiely appreciating your work is affecting you that much then maybe you need to-#-work on yourself instead of trying to control what a bunch of strangers on the internet do.#Also you need to learn how to enjoy creating without caring about the numbers. Because if you're creating just to watch-#-the numbers go up then you will never be happy. It's a miserable; joyless way to be an artist of any kind

what are your thoughts on the differences between Early Access characters and full release? Did you play it?
I don't play early access games. I don't have the time for it, believe it or not, and I also don't want to burn myself out on (usually) shittier versions of games without experiencing the full scope. If someone wants me to beta test their game, they can pay me.
I played the first Darkest Dungeon in the earliest patches, and it's forever tainted my perception of early access games for me personally.
That said, I can only go off of what people say about those versions of the characters and that is exceedingly difficult without just watching playthroughs of those various versions. Why? There are plenty of people who have their heads on straight, but I see enough mythologizing of cut content, older sketches of things, etc. for me to be wary of relying on second-hand accounts. And I definitely don't have time to watch playthroughs of an obsolete version of this video game lol.
Anywho, my point is: I like the game at release. Thinking about what was and what could have been is as useful to me as rocks in my shoes. I prefer to discuss what we have.

y'know i mentioned it yesterday at the art party, but uh!! jsyk, my messages/ask box is open if y'all ever want my help redlining charr artwork or if you got any questions about how to draw charr, i could always draft up a tutorial and frankly all my old art advice could use a refresher 💦
i'm by no means a photorealistic artist and my interpretation of charr may differ from the myriad of interpretations of charr out there, but! i have fun with anatomy, i enjoy giving critique and i am Always happy to indoctrinate encourage more people to draw charr, they're tough but fun!

Happening this week:
We've got three deadlines coming up!
First, artist and beta sign-ups will be closing on April 23rd. This is your last chance to participate in this year's Bang!
Artist sign-ups are here, and beta sign-ups are here.
Second, the deadline for the first check-in (also April 23rd) is fast approaching! We're requiring all authors to submit an Ao3-style fic summary and a fic outline to the google form posted in #event-announcements on the discord. The form is live, and will remain open until midnight PST on that day. As always, please feel free to ask a moderator if you have any questions. We've made a google drive folder of summary/outline examples, which can also be found in the event announcements channel.
Looking to the future, we've got the Artist Choice Period coming up directly after the first check-in ends. More information on that soon!
Finally: fic assignments will not be first come, first served, so please don't worry about catching the artist choice sheet as soon as it goes like on April 24th. It'll be open until April 30th, and matching won't begin until every artist's choices are in.

I put this in the tags at first, but I think some people need a reminder for real. Reading fic and seeing fanart is a privilege not a right. A PRIVILEGE. Treat authors and artists with respect, most of them spend countless hours working on their craft for FREE and often little to no recognition. They do not owe you anything and you don't get to dictate when they should post or update. Some people seem to get really entitled in fandom spaces. This also goes for game mods.
When reading fanfic keep in mind that for professional literature:
Short story: under 7,500
Novelette: between 7,500 and 17,500
Novella: between 17,500 and 40,000
Novel: over 40,000
Fics over 40k are literally a novel written and shared for free.  If you have written a 40k+ fic, you have literally written a novel.
