since i am in university (unfortunately) i like putting them in my shoes because i hate them. i think narcissa woudl be an english, psychology, or anthropology major, and alice would be an engineering, music, health sciences, or biology major (i have a lot of Career Paths in mind for her). she could also do english for Rivalry reasons ( I AM AN ENGLISH MAJOR IF YOU COULDNT TELL)

alice would minor in something "political" (for lack of a better word) (gender studies, global studies etc) and she would be super political around campus, fighting for social justice. narcissa would not gaf (ultra privileged rich white girl that she is) and it would drive alice nuts (she is right). she would try to get narcissa to protest w her and narcissa wouuld be like ??? no ??? alice can fix her.

theres an au floating around my head where theyre rival lawyers who have to work together on a case.. and learn about each other along the way... and its set in new york and its raining... idk

i have also been thinking abt them in an orchestra........ narcissa on flute (because i played flute for 5 years and im determined to make it do SOMETHING for me) and alice on bass or violin.. minerva as the conductor... lots of drama

Usually! Not if they're emojis, but if someone's left actual words I try to respond. I'm currently very behind, yikes, and the new rate-limiter on AO3 is not helping.

6. Angstiest Ending?

Hm. Probably a tie between cheyenne and the hollow summer; they're both no-hope spots, which I normally avoid like plague, but they were appropriate for those stories.

7. Fic with the Happiest Ending?

Arguably it should be any of the heaven fics, haha, but I think it might be the constant vow -- not because nothing bad will ever happen to them again (s7 is coming!), but because they're so tied together by the circumstances of that fic that I think maybe they can weather any danger.

8. Do you get hate?

Sometimes! Rarely regarding fic, though, and I've often wondered why. Maybe because my public-facing affect is so hard-shelled. You can't poke me, trolls. Sorry.

9. Do you write smut?

And well. :)

10. Do you write crossovers?

Only a few! I like them in concept but the only way I like them is if they're hard fucking work, lol. It's a fun challenge tho, sometimes.

11. Ever had a fic stolen?

I know for a fact I've had a few lines plagiarized here and there, and boy is that a queasy-making experience when you notice. But as far as whole fics, idk. Whatever happens on wattpad can stay there.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes, a handful, and the BEST thing is to then take that translated fic and run the bot-translation back into English. Some of the shit that happens is surprisingly poetic and some of it will make you laugh until you cry, haha. But I think my favorite is the translation of the heaven fic into Spanish, because the title became so beautiful: llegarán días mejores. <3

13. Have you ever co-written a fic?

Only once, and it was a shitty experience. Not just bc of other things about the co-writer but like -- I thought we were going to co-write and not what actually happened, which is that I wrote everything and the like two pages she contributed had to get re-written. :/ It's a fun idea in theory but the practice was. Bad.

14. All time favourite ship?

...guess. --ALTHOUGH if we get outside my own writing there are tons of ships I adore and just never feel the need to actually write anything. Shout-out Amram/Zelikman from Gentlemen of the Road.

15. WIPs you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I despair of my super long J2 AU that's the xover with the Kushiel 'verse, Nightblooming Flowers. What's there is fun and fine, and kind of works as an ending where it does cut off, but it was supposed to get a complicated knotty plot and... ugh. Also the writing style is a lot more flowery than I actually like to do -- appropriate for the subject matter but it's just not something I gear into easily. Maybe I should reread the book series and just lock in. (Maybe I should quit my job.)

16. Writing Strengths?

I think I'm really good at the balance of when to switch between summary and scene -- and from there pacing generally. To my credit, when it's fucked up in a story I do know; I just don't always have the wherewithal to fix it. :)

17. Writing Weaknesses?

PLOT. And also, as my bud has pointed out, I avoid shenanigans, and that's to my detriment actually. I never want to do cutesy shit -- twists, reveals, ticking clocks, villains, last-minute character introductions, etc. I think this is bc I really learned taste on literary short-form and including things that make reading actually fun is very looked down on, haha. Honestly I should make that a challenge. Shenanigans Bingo.

18. Thoughts on mixed language dialogue?

It's great. I'm only comfortable enough to do it in Spanish pero no es algo debería disputar--debe escribir en el idioma apropriado para el cuento y los personajes. Although I'm never totally sure if I'm using por or para right. Once the entire conversation switches into another language I do prefer that the narrative just quietly indicate that now they're speaking French or w/e and continue in English; actually writing in the other language is most useful when you're obscuring information from the narrative POV (although becomes a nice Bilingual Bonus for the reader).

Final Fantasy! I'm sure it was bad.

Errr. In one sense, always the most recent one. But I think the actual writing in asceticism might be the best.

i have like a little template in my drafts with my basic layout (like title, prologue, warnings, pairing etc and so on) and i just keep it to copy and paste for a new fic. and underneath the header and info section, i just outline messy dot points. and each dot point gets turned into a few paragraphs or a scene. and i always have some typa thesaurus open 😭

oouh!! mostly song titles i think, i always use them as a jumping point. or actually i really love pinterest, and web-weaving type of posts when it comes to themes i wanna explore (mostly in sfw fics, as opposed to like short smut) 😁

and they were roommates by @sugoroo i loved it so bad, so EXCELLENT and the tension and smut had me on the edge of my seat. choso's made me laugh 😭

— 13. whats a common writing tip you always follow?

honestly it feels like a cop-out answer but i always try to remember 'unlearn shame' in my head. like when im writing, like for no reason, i get a bit embarrassed or self aware or im overthinking a sentence?? i just have to remember that it is just never that deep....😭

however, a better answer i think would be that for 99% of my fics (so excluding very short fluff, or straight up jackhammering smut) i always always do worldbuilding first. my favourite authors are j.r.r tolkien and george rr martin so middle earth/westerosi levels of high fantasy are massive inspirations when it comes to the grand scheme of creating a world for my characters to interact in.

also i rlly love mythology, folktales and medieval history so they always play a role in how i write or treat common themes. i think its super interesting and poignant at how some stories survive thousands of years and resonate across different cultures, and they remain classics for a reason <333 if that makes sense

like okay say! even in fics that aren't a part of some royal/fantasy/myth au right, like idk say im writing about gojo dying (rip king 😰) its obviously set within the jjk world in 2018, but i would try to see how the following works express the same theme of grief, battle, leaving a loved one behind:

the death of sigurd in the volsunga saga in norse myths

patroclus and achilles in the illiad

a medieval french epic called the song of roland, where roland's death is felt so strongly by his fiancee that she dies

tristan and isolde (tristan being mortally wounded n knowing that he will leave isolde behind, and she succumbs to grief)

the japanese folklore tale of the warrior tomoe gozen, and how she mourns her lord and lover

Why? Well, I went to my AO3 account, and like a solid 1/3 of my history was completely deleted - as in the works were deleted. Additionally, I haven't been reading much lately, so I have no newer titles, unfortunately. But here's the couple I have:

there's always this thing that we're becoming. Brilliantly written, genuinely gorgeous, in character, etc - it is smut though (top notch smut, though)

I'm pretty sure I enjoyed TntDuo Content I Don't Want To Attach My Username To too - also smut lmao

Agape - NOT smut, for once, but never finished lmao

There's also this fic I am completely not connected to ha ha it's called Losing Face and while it is unfinished I heard that the author is doing this like kinda rewrite kinda reimagining sort of thing where tldr it's the same concept just executed better ha haa👀👀👀

Another one is real life au - it's VERY heavy though. Like, I had to stop reading it at some point cause it was legitimately just hitting too hard. It is well written, and it's supposed to evoke those emotions, but just be VERY careful with it. VERY tldr is that it's about Schlatt - Q's abusive ex - becoming Wilbur's sugar daddy. It is VERY dead dove do not eat, and deals with SA and s-cidal ideation. The fic is called Sugar Lips, but I won't put the link here cause seriously, it's fucking heavy - and in a very realistic way, not the fantasy "eating someone's heart while they're alive" type of thing, but in a "this happens to real people in real life" type of way. Idk if you still want to read it dm me for the link but yeah, just please stay safe, guys

And then there's one work which I cannot find for the life of me - I don't know if it got deleted or something but if it wasn't, tntblr please help me find it It was about Wilbur coming to Quackity when his stitches break. Once the guy stitches him up, there's a whole scene when Wilbur has a breakdown and Quackity helps him through it. Then I believe it's kinda this sort of "montage" of how Wilbur and Q kinda grow closer, and (spoiler alert) it ends with some event during which Sapnap and Karl show up and there's arguing and at some point Wilbur and Sapnap start fighting (physically) and Wilbur ends up beating Sapnap to death. It was so well written, and it was one of the earliest fics i've read, and i haven't been able to find it for a long, long time now

fantasy au. my ultimate fic. the million-word three-part epic based around the philosophical and theological concepts of eternal return and doubling as a variation on the proto-indo-european creation myth with a true ensemble cast of 40+ characters interweaving and affecting the plot in drastic ways ohhhhhhh lordy that fic was everything and more. i'm so proud of it. there's a 5% chance it'll ever get written past the 17k i've written already. sad!

i think i do description well, and narration? i get a lot of compliments on my dialogue and characterization, and the most common positive feedback i get is that i'm very good at eliciting emotions.

i've struggled a lot in the past to structure my longer stories well, plot-wise! however once i realized i didn't have to write happy endings, i think i got a lot better at this, and now i'm putting a lot of practice in it to fine-tune this skill :)

i've... never considered this as something to ask a question about? i guess i really don't care, but i would prefer if there is research and at least a margin of expertise into the second language. google translate just to be cute does NOT cut it for me 😭 i have a degree in linguistics...

this is a more recent idea that i just had and talked a bit abt on here i might refine it some before i actually start writing it, but in short i was thinking what if. when yuuji died at the detention center megumi accidentally cursed him? i’ve been thinking of yuuji as a rika-like curse or maybe (probably) something more humanoid but. imagine the GUILT that megumi would feel ooohhhggg it would hurt so bad i need to think more about this  but i have had the idea for a while about itafushi cursing each other at the detention center…..now that i have more time i can actually work on fleshing this out so

basically the idea is that in order to reach megumi’s soul, yuuji has to travel Through sukuna’s soul. in doing this, he basically experiences life as sukuna like all the atrocities he committed and cannibalism, some other things. and he’s conscious the whole time but can’t stop anything even he tried because he’s just living sukuna’s memories. ooooh the guilt the sickness the trauma i need to write this idea so bad

the reason i included 10 in this is because i first got the idea when i was listening to “talk” by hozier and the line about the voice that urged orpheus and the choiceless hope in grief. the fic doesnt really align with erm the rest of the song but like the idea of yuuji going through literal Hell to save megumi (like he didnt go through enough already) and the way i saw that in the jjk universe was sukuna’s soul

15 - WIP that is just all my favorite tropes bound together with the power of love

i would say koi no yokan but since i finished editing the last chapter today i feel like that doesnt count as a wip anymore :( 

now i’d say it’s my (unstarted) actor au because it has slow burn elements, historical elements (IM SO EXCITED ABT THIS), secret/forbidden romance…probably lots of meddling (/affectionate) nobara. i havent fully planned it out yet bc i don’t like to have too many active multichapters at once </3 but i love the idea of writing itafushi falling in love twice in parallel stories 🥹

16 - WIP that has an audience of 1 and it is me

is this an appropriate time to talk abt original work……………………………i’ve never talked abt that here before omg

it’s still in its infancy im talking world and characters barely in existence (i’m better at plotting first and building as necessary but idk idk) but this morning i actually came up w a title for it and a vague beginning and ending so i can start building more from there but. 

its a fantasy story set in a fictional kingdom (wow big shocker /s) and the idea that i’ve centered my plot around so far is this doomsday cult. here’s a lil peak into my lore doc (hides faster than the speed of sound) (yes i named the cult before the kingdom what about it)

the story is tentatively named (though i will probably stick with it) "when the sun bleeds red" after the first line of the prophecy. which to me not only refers to the prophecy but the type of imagery i'll be striving for with the more violent scenes kjdgfhfjdh

I have a soft spot for Sephiroth's real mother, Lucrecia, because she's like... A victim of the most toxic workplace bullshit ever, fell for a scary sexy guy (Hojo 🥵 like I understand this COMPLETELY actually,), and actually...

...No, she didn't make the bravest choices. She also didn't make very "good" choices either. Nightmarish environment, bad choice after another, also abuse she had no control over...

And after everything?

She hides herself and can't face the world.

Like yeah, she was just somebody in the system. Not a hero because a lot of people are too scared and traumatized and frozen to be "brave", or maybe in extremely authoritarian environment many people will just live in survival mode. Like everyone else making that system roll, she contributed to its evils, she is guilty.

I know she wouldn't be one of the most hated FF7 characters if she was a guy so pls let me love this flawed tragic woman pls?

Like. Idk what redeeming qualities she even has. She's like, just not some great person but what if her potential just never had a chance? Guess what, deadbeat losers are some of my faves.

Like... Genesis is also a badly written mess and has said things that almost sound like a school shooter manifesto (honestly the most unsympathethic thing about him) and his value system seems pretty reduced to just personal revenge etc., instead of allying with Avalanche against Shinra etc. more interesting paths to take... And look, I'm also a Genesis fan... I used to be completely obsessed with him actually. Frame by frame tried to analyse every bit of his screentime and what hidden symbolisms about his relationship to the other characters I could find in it... Even if just reading into it too much. <\3 But yes we love this BPD-ridden greater than life drama queen.

Something can have crap writing but you can still like it... Honestly many of the spin-off characters are like that. I think many of my favorite characters in any media are either very underrepresented side characters, or ones with a really juicy good idea about them, yet a bad execution. (*coughs* Seph's besties. <3)

Also if we don't count Org XIII from KH, Namine is one of my faves too (despite how I've loathed reducing female characters to this kind of role all my life, - Namine just has themes about her I find somberly relatable and she has a significant place in the KH AU fanon that exists in my head).

She feels like she's defined by someone else whose shadow she exists in (Kairi) and kind of... Leads this somber lonely existence of disconnection. In that game where those lesb- I mean Marluxia and Larxene are the main villains, Namine's only close people who even talk to her at all are these... Abusive mfrs. She idealizes and loves Sora whom she doesn't even really know, also gets mega rejected too.

Like bro. I project a major "traumatized autistic teen who's preyed on by the only people who talk to her and who loves this boy she doesn't even really know" LIKE. RELATABLE. POOR BABY. NAMINE IS SO INTERESTING AND DESERVES EVERYTHING ACTUALLY.

And that she's soooo frail. She doesn't get much chances to really punch back, just like Lucrecia. Ah, the turning knife in wounds that is getting 0 justice. Being too frozen to fight bcs PTSD is a beast like that. Etc. Etc.

Like. Neither of these characters is exactly some power fantasy. Claiming more agency is something that often remains a suffocated hope, as you know, learned helplessness gets.

That's such a human experience whether you like it or not.

Pls don't be butthurt about me calling Genesis badly written, it really is my opinion about many things I love and enjoy. I like things. Oh my god.

someone left this comment on one of my fics like 100+ days ago and it haunts me and I don't even know why I think it's because it's So Specific and also the Most Vauge?? Like when you say AU, do you mean an AU of my universe with this exact dynamic (adopted civillian reader x batboys) or??? Anyway, to get it out of my system, this is how I would attempt each of these. Spoilers for DC vs Vampires.

I haven't read Beastworld but I do know it's a Fursona™ storyline where everyone gets beast boy powers and I have no experience reading furry or A/B/O stuff sorrryyy And Vampire AU! Like a completely seperate fantasy situation or literally DC Vs Vampires? Because (spoilers) most of the bat family is murdered like Quite Gruesomely right when the story kicks off. Jason literally takes his own life when he's about to be turned. Tim literally gets his head crushed! I would still keep the reveal of Dick was the Vampire King All Along and keep him killing Bruce, Tim and Jason and then turning Damian. BB would be holed up somewhere safe and Dick would come for her, pretending that he was the only survivor of an attack. I think he would move her somewhere the batgirls won't find and pretend he's going out to kill vampires during the night. Obviously she loses her mind being locked up all the time, ventures out to try and help him and gets kidnapped to be sold to a blood farm. Dick wouldn't stage a rescue because he knows she would make him free all of the other humans and take her to his headquarters. He'd still lie to her about who killed the other bats and say that he'd been turned after killing the 'real murderer', who just so happened to be the previous vampire king, making Dick in charge. I guess from here there'd be a lot of openly yandere/maniuplation until BB figures everything out. In canon, Damian became a vampire hunter pretty much immediately after being turned but is pretending to be evil to stay in Dick's good graces. Dick obviously knows Damian is with the resistance but is sentimental and won't kill him, but won't let him get too close either as he knows Damian is planning to kill him. So in fic this would include Dick keeping BB away from Damian, since Damian knows Dick killed everyone else. BB would uncover the truth on her own and draw on vampire Wonder Woman's feminist heartstrings to get her to train her behind Dick's back. She'd then find a way to communicate and work with Damian and Barbara. Then I'd go with the canon storyline of Barabra kills Dick, makes someone turn her and then she becomes the Vampire Queen?? Then Damian and BB would be badass vampire hunters in love, and she'd let him feed from her and they'd be badass resistance leaders together.

I have never read Harry Potter and while my physical form has been present for every single one of those movies, I don't think I have ever watched one in full without falling asleep. Not that they're bad or boring or anything but??? IDK. I would totally be at a loss plot wise because I do know that the school is basically the central location, so I would need to know a lot of lore to pull it off. I'd probably go a slice of life route. I'd also have to decide on a house to sort BB into. Probably Ravenclaw just because her upbringing would make her sheltered and well read?? Bruce would still be her adoptive dad and he'd be like whatever Snape was I guess? Maybe a dual potions/defense teacher. Damian is a slytherin who makes cool magic paintings that move. Dick and Jason are on Quidditch teams. Dick is well loved and popular, Jason would be sneaking around at night. IDK about Tim. He's a pop culture bitch in my head and the HP universe doesn't really have any of that, nor do they have tech. These are all cute thoughts! Also please do not do that whole 'where's my update' shit because writing about snogging fictional superheroes does take real hours of my life and I'd much prefer compliments on what I've already written rather than the whole 'gimmie more right now' thing. I know it's supposed to read as cute but tbh it just gives entitled.

Absolutely! I love comments, I love sharing the excitement with other people, I love hearing people's thoughts and theories!

4. What's the fic you've written with the angsties ending?

For sure: Love is weakness. Kind of open ended but lots of pain.

5. what's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?

I don't write a lot of happy endings but probably...Birthdays. The whole fic is quite happy and fluffy.

6. Do you write crossovers?

I have written one! Once upon a December, a crossover between Anastasia and Once Upon a Time.

7. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Yessss I love writing smut! I write F/F and F/M. Mostly angsty and sub/Dom type stuff. I don't think I'll ever write M/M, but never say never!

8. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of.

9. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Someone asked me if they could translate one of my fics and I said yes, I don't know if they did it though.

I want to translate some of my own fics though! Someday.

No! I'm not sure I'd enjoy it, I'm kind of a control freak, but I'd give it a go.

11. What's your all time favorite ship?

I'm going to have to say SwanQueen (Emma Swan/ Regina Mills,) just because they're so perfect and such a missed opportunity. But I'm a multi shipper at heart.

12. What's a WIP you want to finish but don't think you ever will?

Hardest question here. I think it's probably my fantasy AU story, the white throne. I mean, I'll finish it (forever positive) but I also have 2 sequels planned, number 2 will get written, but 3....maybe not.

13. What are your writing strengths?

I'd say probably characterisation and character relationships.

14. What are your writing weaknesses?

Definitely pacing and prose. My prose tends to be quite dry and to the point.

15. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in fic?

Idk why anyone would do this? I don't really understand the question, maybe because I've never seen it done.

16. What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for but want to?

Not a ship but a fandom. I've always wanted to write for the Twilight fandom, but I'm intimidated. Well, maybe someday.

17. What's your favorite fic you've written?

This is such a hard question!! Honestly I love all my fics, they're my babies. But, as of now, I'm going to have to go with "of love and loss and love again," which is about grief and helped me process my own grief.

L: How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?

Usually as I'm writing it (assuming I don't just do it all in one sitting), I'll come back and give it a read over and edit before I start back to work, and then I read over it once more before I post it. that's usually it though. I'm lazy when it comes to editing lol. pretty much all my fics are first drafts.

M: Got any premises on the back burner that you’d care to share?

well, I do still want to write the fic about Splinter's son (that he didn't know he had) stumbling into their lives post-movie. I have a post about it on here somewhere.

the fic I MEANT to write after I was done with IMBI (before a different AU plagued my brain, which I've been actively working on) is a fic whose working title is "Mikey and Donnie's Step-by-Step Guide for Saving Your Doomed Family," which is the obligatory peepaw fic. It follows Mikey and Donnie, post-movie, building a cross-dimensional time machine to try and save the bad future Hamatos and bring them to the saved present. It's told from Mikey and Donnie's POVs and has a heavy focus on their relationship, both pre- and post-Krang invasion.

I do still really want to write it, it's just that this other thing completely consumed my creative energy. oops.

N: Is there a fic you wish someone else would write (or finish) for you?

uhhh idk. I have lots of ideas all the time that I'll probably never write just because, you know, time and labor lol, but not really any I can think of to put here.

this is the nice thing about fandom kinkmemes (or whatever you would call a SFW kinkmeme), if you have an idea you don't want to write yourself you can just go drop it in a comment and let someone else write it.

T: Any fandom tropes you can’t stand?

uhhhh I think my biggest thing that is Popular In Fandom but I Don't Like is AUs that bring fantastical canons into our reality and like, have the characters going to college or working office jobs or whatever. so "modern AUs," except it bums me out that that's the name we settled on because actual modern times in the setting of a fantasy canon could be really fun! Like, I don't want the "modern AU" Dragon Age to have Hawke working at a coffee shop and taking writing classes at the local uni, I want it to have them fighting darkspawn on top of a skyscraper. or like, you can have the Gaang going to college, but why can't they bend anymore! just let them have it!

FFXV is one of my favorite canons purely because it actually shows some of the thought behind like, what if a world had normal modern technology (they're driving around in modern cars and using smartphones) but also monsters and gods and magic. but so many fantasy settings in fiction are either medieval or do the bullshit where you have the "magic world" hidden from the "normal world". no! boring! I want to know how legislative proceedings are affected when congressmen can challenge each other to wizard duels. expand your mind!

U: Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.

this is list is not in any particular order:

taizi is an amazingly talented writer, there are so many lines in their fics that make me go "wow", and they have such a grasp on character and emotion. they also have some great One Piece fics!

MagicalSpaceDragon is another absolutely incredible writer. their "theseus, and" series is particularly good, but I actually have them in my bookmarks for one of my favorite ROTTMNT fics of all time, "i guess we've really been out of touch (but can it really be so serious)"

and reccing my friend Kiaxet, who is also an amazing writer who mixes hilarity, angst, and heartwarming moments with a deft hand. I'm so excited for the rest of her "Siblingquest 20XX" fic, but all her fics are amazing!

and while they aren't a TMNT writer, I wanna shout out Asidian, who has written several of my favorite FFXV fics (including and especially "Running Behind", which is one of the best MT!Prompto fics, right up there with "poor wayfaring stranger"), and also has some amazing Rise of the Guardians fics (I especially love "Bits and Pieces", which has my favorite trope of "hungry character gets fed", but "Every Boy And Girl" also makes me cry everytime).

Fantasy AU ramblings

I've been more in my head about my Fairy Tail Fantasy Au lately and I thought I upload some of my initial thoughts here. Maybe I'll make a collection on AO3? Idk maybe that would make it too serious LOL

This AU would eventually have all the typical pairings (Jerza, Gruvia, NaLu etc), but I also have my OC Rhia included, plus @foolishk's OC Kaiya. But it was created for the juicy jerza dynamic specifically. So yeah, meow!

Anyway, two short stories I've written in this AU: Jellal and Erza before the winter war || Gray and Juvias first encounter.

Long ago, a hundred years before our story, three nymphs were born shortly after each other. Nymphs are almost ageless beings, sprouting from the ice in the caves of the highest peaks of the icy-mountain range. Kept away from humans they fear them and keep to each other until they return to the a thousand years later. Rumour has it that a nymph can decide to give up her years, become like a human, rumour says some have done it, but that is just stories of 900 year old elders, the young decide.

Kaiya was born first, in the year 644, from a puddle of melted ice. She was quiet, observant and too curious about old tales for her own good. Rhia followed just a footstep later, the year is 697, formed in a little waterfall in one of the deeper caves. Blessed and plagued by temperament not unlike raging water. Not even a breath later Juvia was the last, in the year 698, finding her form in deep iced water where she is most comfortable. 

All three instinctively know their name, all three are sisters in some way and not sisters in another. A hundred years will pass before they first grasp the world outside of their caves.

In the year 770, when dragons and humans lived side by side still, a boy was born to the royal court of Magnolia. With a stern look in his eyes like the king and blue hair like the queen he was the image of his parents. He was lucky to be born a boy too, he would be the next in line for the kingdom. Proudly, his father named him after his own father, Jellal, and declared that he would raise his son to be a fine and just leader of the country. 

The happiness soon waned as little thin, red lines appeared on the baby's face on the right side. The pattern was unusual and the finest doctors in the land could not tell what had transpired. The king took his newborn to a witch, who was living amongst the shapeshifters in the forest. She followed the red lines with a slender, old finger. Cursed, she judged. The boy bore a curse of red that would be his destiny.

The king never again looked at his child as something to be proud of. He ordered the guards present to keep quiet about what had transpired in the forest. Soon the entire court knew that the prince was cursed. 

In that same year, 770, another boy was born not far from the city of Magnolia in the kingdom of Fiore. The old, aristocratic family of the Dreyars had long expected the next in line to lead the family estate. The marriage of his parents, arranged and loveless, had so far been unable to produce a child. Soon the boy, who had been named Laxus, learned of the violent tendencies of his father just as his mother had. Fearing for the child’s well being his grandfather stepped up instead and loved him more than both parents ever could.

Later the same year, 770, high up in the ice-mountains, where snow reigned and cold wind blew at all months of the year, a girl was born to the empress. The rules were different in the kingdom of ice than in the kingdoms walking in the sun, the child did not need to be a boy to be an empress. 

Her mother was happy to meet her, happy to be with her, after the months she had spent crying over the loss of her husband. Now, with her beautiful child in her arms, the empress cried too, because she could not contain the happiness she felt in other words. To reflect all the love of these first tears she named her child close to what was her own name, Ultear.

771, the year following, another child was born to the court of Magnolia, tucked away in a barn where usually dragon children were housed. A girl, her hair as red as the one of her mothers and her eyes as hazel as her fathers. Desperate for her mother’s attention, the girl found only cold when she was being held. Her mother had suffered greatly while she had been carrying the baby and had no love left for her child now. 

Her mother was busy, she was important at court, she had no time for the girl. She hastily named her Erza and discarded her to the royal caretaker to be looked after. She soon learned that she was not the only child at court that had been abandoned there by their busy parents.

On the edges of the kingdom, just across the border, where the wind could already rip cold and unrelenting on your clothes, a child was born in the same year, 771. His parents had been expecting the little boy like it was the last missing piece and the big puzzle that was their love. 

Still, his arrival sprouted a little disappointment in his father. Blessed with red hair and long locks, his father had picked out the name for the boy long before he was even born, thinking his son would surely look like him. The boy, however, had inherited the looks from his mother’s side and was only blessed with thin, white hair that looked nothing like the name his father had chosen. They awarded him with it anyway and named him Lyon.

A year later, in 772, in an especially ice winter in the north, not far from the castle of the empress, a boy was born. In comparison to the one that would one day in the future be his brother, the boy looked exactly like his father. Though his parents had been surprised by the announcement of his arrival, their happiness at his being with them was never ending. And though his mother made fun of his father’s naming choice, the boy was named Gray to match him. 

The same year, 772, but in quite the opposite conditions, a boy was born in the forests north of Magnolia, not far from where the shapeshifters lived. It was a hot, relentlessly oppressive summer then and his mother was on the verge of losing consciousness in the heat when he arrived safe and sound. With hair pink like his father, eyes curious like his mother and an immediate smile on his face nobody could deny that this child had something magnetic about him. The parents decided to let his older brother name him and, fatigued from the heat of that summer, he was given the name Natsu.

Spring of the year 773 carried the smell of that previous summer in Fiore, as if winter never had gotten a foothold on the continent at all. Into the sound of winds and the falling of cherry blossoms a rich trader and his wife welcomed a daughter into the world. They had come into money generation or so before by building connections between the iron-mountains and the kingdom and now the dynasty needed to be preserved. 

The little girl would have enough wealth to never need to ask for anything, and yet she still grew up wanting. Her father loved her mother and her mother loved her. She was named Lucy, like a song their parents had once loved.

In the year 783, when the fate of the other children was already in motion, the widowed queen of Magnolia bore another blue haired child. Since her husband had passed away she’d had several lovers and though she had not planned to have another child, the queen was pleased to welcome the little girl into the world. Behind her older brother, now next in line to the throne, the girl would have everything she ever wanted and face none of his pressure. Her brother named her Wendy, after an adventure book he had once read.

In the year 795 the trader's daughter leaves her family house to marry the young king on Magnolia’s throne. This is where this story begins.

Barbie and the Secret Door!DPxDC AU

I've always wanted to see a Barbie AU so I'm gonna make one. If you've never seen BatSD, you can find the plot here. (Btw, at the very end there's a clip where Malucia's parents come back from a trip and laughingly ask her if she attempted to take over the kingdom again. I recommend watching or listening to the songs because they perfectly describe how delusional almost every single character is. I love you grandma and little fairy girl for being two of the most grounded characters in this movie.)

First, the roles:

Second, tweaking the story:

Instead of fairies/mermaids/unicorns, it's vampires (amity parkers), nagas (ghosts), and banshees (halfas). trogs (the attendants) and sniffers (idk they're like bloodhounds) are nagas as well.

All animals are mostly normal w/just enough magic that they glow.

Vampires have purple or red eyes, sharper-than-normal teeth and nails, pointed ears, and the ability to turn into bats.

Nagas have green or red eyes, sharp teeth and nails, a tail, and the ability to turn into a snake.

Banshees have neon green or red eyes, sharper-than-normal nails, and the ability to tell when someone's close to death.

Stealing their magic turns them into humans.

Youngblood is a naga who doesn't have an ability (therefore is the most human looking of the nagas) and has decided to steal everyone's magic because he deserves it. (via Malucia's scepter) He hasn't stolen the castle servants' magic because it would make things harder for him.

Skulker and Walker don't "sniff out magic".

They've yet to realize that humans need to eat and drink water on a regular basis.

Jason's 11 years old, Youngblood's 6(?), Danny's 10, Dani's 8, Star's 11, Johnny's 12, Sam's 11. The rest (on the list) are adults.

Something I'm not gonna tweak: the fact that the palace servants don't try to revolt or usurp Princess Malucia. They seem extremely tired.

Now, onto the actual idea:

Jason is very nervous and untrusting of his new surroundings. His favorite activities are sneaking books from the library into his room and going to school. He's very resistant to interacting with Bruce because if he is like how the rumors say he is, how is he supposed to fight him off? Alfred notices and gives him a fairy tale book written by one of Bruce's ancestors about the house.

The book leads him to a door in one of the rooms he's never been in. This door leads to a fantasy world. There are tons of bright colors and weird plants. He spots a glowing, green puppy and starts following it. He wasn't paying much attention to his surroundings and was confronted by Johnny and Sam. (Johnny trips because he isn't used to having legs.) However, they notice the clothes he's wearing and realize that he's not from there and probably has no idea what's going on.

They tell him that the Evil Prince Youngblood has been stealing everyone's magic. Since Jason doesn't have any he might be able to help them. When Jason asks why they can't do anything, they reply with something along the lines of "how would we sneak past the guards or win a fight against them? we don't know how human bodies work."

Eventually, they start leading Jason back to their base when they nearly get caught by Walker and Skulker. Thankfully, the two get distracted by a rock thrown by Star and they get to the base quickly. (Unbeknownst to them, Star gets caught.)

Jason sees that a good portion of the camp has been stripped of their magic and made human. They seem to be rather disheartened at their situation. This makes him want to help (especially when he meets Danny, Dani, and Vlad and learn they're being hunted more religiously than anyone else.)

POV changes to Star's. She's being led into a large reception hall where a tall, shadowy figure is sitting on a throne on a raised platform. Then the lights come on and she sees that it's just a child sitting on a raised throne. (if you don't want to look at the image: the platform is eight half steps high, the throne is 9 steps high)

Youngblood ignores Ember, Walker, and Skulker in favor of Aragon and his plans to throw a celebration after becoming the most magical prince ever. Walker and Skulker gain their attention and announce that they've caught another naga child. Youngblood gets upset with them for not finding the much-more-magical banshees, but quickly turns his attention to Star and demands she gives him her magic. Then, he forces her to play games with him, Aragon, and his two guards.

Switch to Youngblood's POV. Walker and Skulker come back into the room to announce that they are certain that they know where the Banshee King is. Star starts to ask how they found him before snapping her mouth shut, which Youngblood decides means that she probably knows something. He goes to talk to Walker and Skulker and finds they know the general location (a forest) that he's in, not the exact location.

While he isn't happy, he does have an idea. He tells Aragon to prepare to go get the Banshee King. He then looks overly surprised that Star's there and tells her that she can leave since she's not of use to him. Once she's out of the room, he orders Skulker and Walker to follow her.

Back to Jason. He's figuring out a plan to sneak into Youngblood's castle and get everyone's magic back. Then Star bursts into the hideout and tells everyone that Youngblood took her magic and has the location of the Banshee King. Jason was going to ignore that when Danny and Dani started crying about their big brother being in danger. Now he's got a plan to go with Sam and Johnny to retrieve Dan.

When they get back to the base with Dan, they find everyone captured and depowered (with the three banshees missing.) He tries to fight Youngblood, but loses because of not knowing how to deal with magic. (also there's like 4 guards surrounding Youngblood.)

Youngblood says something about how powerless Jason is as he and his lackeys are leaving that almost causes him to give up and go back to the manor. Sam convinces him to stay and help because they'd not have gotten to Dan in such a short amount of time without his planning.

So, he plans.

He gets a small group into the castle and they watch as Youngblood takes the last of Dan's magic from him. The group is convinced they were too late and that they can't do anything now. (Youngblood has used his scepter to turn the reception room into a party room filled with all types of sweets.) But Jason noticed that there was a small crack in Youngblood's scepter, meaning if he hit it just right with enough force he could break it.

It was a gamble, but it worked. He broke the scepter and everyone got their magic back. Youngblood got clean up duty (because there's still candy and cake everywhere.) And Jason was more confident in being able to handle himself.

After Jason leaves back to the mansion, Youngblood's parents come back (he's still cleaning up his mess) and ask him if he tried to take over the kingdom again. His punishment is going to need to wait until after they give him his presents. (much to Aragon's disapproval)

Jason (in the mansion) probably puts the book in his room and decides to get training from Bruce. (and become robin)

To my surprise! T and E are like. Evenly tied with 7 each.... Genuinely was expecting E to eek out the others bc nearly EVERYTHING i've been writing these days is kind explicit lol (except for Tell Me How) and i've been writing a LOT more than i used to. Hysterical, considering how nothing he is, but also. Completely unsurprising considering how much i've been gripped by that piece of sopping wet cardboard of a man and his "I can't, I tried" that has compelled me all summer long..... But also, some of the times im tagging Jace its actually in the place of his clones who are technically canon but do not have personalities or names and therefore do not have ao3 tags.... Porter is second at (6), which does make sense bc.... like.... Jace has superceded him... who is porter... my new hyperfixation LJ3 has practically nothing to do with Porter, no i will not elaborate

Not really? Idk i don't think i write enough to have many surprises on my ao3, like i knew Starbreaker was the most i'd written for in a long time and i was right. I was surprised i have the same amount of T and E fics.... but to be fair before this summer most of the things i wrote were like. Ambitious multichap stuff that were full on AUs or sometimes took place in high school so i guess that makes sense.... Its just, in my mind my stupid hornyposting has eclipsed everything else. I WAS surprised abt the benverly thing, that's a total fluke. It feels wrong that I technically have more benverly than LJ3

I really shouldn't be surprised by how Jace Stardiamond is my favorite sopping wet beast. And yet.

🌸 What's a genre you'd like to try writing?

about two years ago i would make social media aus and i REALLY want to do that again but that's not something new. hmm.. i've done just normal modern, i've done sci-fi fantasy, i've done medieval fantasy, currently doing dystopian, i can't do western bc trauma lmao - i guess urban fantasy? i mentioned it in a prev ask but i really like fantasy in any element and that's really my forte. i've never written urban fantasy myself so i'd like to give it a shot i think. (i DO have an idea for an urban fantasy social media au but... idk if i need that many projects rn)

GOD. every fucking time i try to just do a simple one shot it ALWAYS grows in my head and becomes a multi-chapter fic. i would love to keep things as one shots but my brain just doesn't work that way, so while i don't necessarily PREFER it i guess multi-chapter wins lmao

so by word count Buried Treasure is my longest WIP so far. i know i've screamed about it plenty but it's essentially a fic that uses ateez's fictional lore and tweaks it - it takes place right after The World Ep. Fin Diary and explores a world of what things would be like if Z World Seonghwa died before the Black Pirates were captured and imprisoned (Deja Vu/Say My Name). but.. he's not actually dead. the boys just don't know that yet.
