But to answer your question, I think it's impossible that GG and DD would fail to see at least some of what's posted about them as a couple, whether sent to them by friends, family or staff, or whether stumbled upon or intentionally sought out/browsed by them. It's inevitable they'll see some of it, particularly things that get a lot of attention.

I talked about this a bit a while back. GG and DD have said in interviews that they have fake social media accounts (and of course they would - how could you go anywhere or do anything on social media without one if you were famous?), and this kind of discussion has happened somewhat in relation to fan comments, etc.

As for sexual edits, etc., like any other content I've no doubt they've seen some of it - it's inevitable they would - but I doubt it worries them all that much. It's highly unlikely to ever impact them directly, because ultimately it's not really about them, is it? It's about the creators who make it. Any backlash is more likely to fall upon creators, not GG and DD.

And just as a reminder - it's not illegal to be gay in China, it's not illegal to post homosexual content, etc. Such content is censored on TV and other broadcast media, but not online.

Porn is very illegal in China, but that's mostly only selectively enforced. In fact, China produces a lot of porn and a lot of smutty fiction and all of it is illegal, but it still manages to thrive fairly well.

Explicit content of any kind is technically not allowed on Weibo but it's still out there - although most of it is pretty toned down and tame. Actual porn of sexual activity isn't ubiquitous there, but lewd fan art, fan fic, edits and memes can often be found.

All platforms globally have rules against explicit content, and they're just as poorly enforced everywhere. I suspect a lot of that is because social media engagement makes money, and sex sells. It's not really in the interest of platforms to completely shut down all such content - even if it was possible to do so.

The supertopic rules likely have more impact on fan behavior in this regard than the Weibo TOS does. Those rules forbid mentioning GG and DD by name or tagging their accounts, and forbid sexualization, pornography, feminization and fixating on body parts. However, that's only within the supertopics. Ultimately people are free to post whatever they want on their own accounts, and they do.

Given how many antis and solos are out there trying to take down the turtle fandom, the fact that these things manage to stay up for as long as they do speaks to how weak the enforcement is. There are definitely people out there who will report things that offend them.

This is, in fact, how the whole 227 thing got started. A bunch of solos decided to report an explicit fanfic to the government, and things spiralled out of control from there.

Could lightning strike a second time and another 227 be sparked from some of this explicit content? For a lot of complicated reasons I'm not going to get into here (it would be a very long post), I don't think that's likely.

227 was a special, very complicated situation that I don't think is likely to happen the same way again. Timing and a lot of the other factors that played into its blowing up the way it did - all of that is unlikely to align in such a way. Especially since everyone in C-ent is a lot more cautious and vigilant after 227.

GG and DD are both in good standing with the government (as is evidenced by their inclusion in government and nationalistic projects), and that's a factor that will have some influence. And no doubt they and their teams have learned a lot from past experience, and have already planned for how to protect them in various scenarios that could arise.

They also have the power to have content relating to them removed, to sue content creators, to shut down the supertopics if they want to, etc.. If they feel at risk, they have a lot of recourse. The fact that we aren't seeing this happening should reassure us that it's probably fine.

We have to realize that GG and DD are surrounded by highly skilled, highly paid professionals whose entire job is to protect them and their interests. They're both in a much safer place than they were 4 years ago.

I trust them to know what's best for them and handle their affairs accordingly. We as fans shouldn't waste time hand-wringing over things that are completely outside our control.

As for what's within our control - it's up to every individual to make our own choices about how we'll represent GG and DD online.

New Marshall Merchandise #57... or #32... or #29, I've Lost Count!

You know, I started posting these updates a few years ago, back when many of my followers were curious about anything I added to my collection. Some of them have gone quiet, possibly moved on or lost interest in PAW Patrol. I'm not sure if my current followers have any interest in these updates. At this point, I just post about these now because I enjoy showing off new items of my favorite character. 😇

And new items, I indeed have! Many of these I've collected over the last month or two, as finding new items hasn't exactly been too easy lately. Most major stores are still selling Jungle Pups and Mighty Movie toys, so hopefully anything new will pop up soon enough. Despite that, I have managed to find a few interesting things!

I first found out about this little figurine when it popped up on Ebay, but nobody would sell it without the other pups (Chase, Skye and Rubble... sadly, no Rocky or Zuma). Someone on Twitter told me they seen some at a Dollar Tree, so of course, I tried checking all the stores I have near me. It took a while, but one finally got some in! Best of all, it's only $1.25, so that's cool!

Accidentally finding another piece of merchandise I didn't expect to see! I'd actually seen one of these on Ebay earlier the same day, but I thought it was a part of some set. Much to my surprise, Dollar Tree also had it, and also for $1.25. It's not the most impressive of the bath squirters I own, but I'm still happy to add it to my collection!

Ha, look at the label! Chase, Marshall, Skye... and Zuma! Well, it makes sense, given he's the water pup, but I still didn't expect that. Nice to see him on a label for once. :)

I'd actually seen pictures of these online a few times over the years, although they were typically branded as Christmas candy. I never could find any at the stores near me, but then a friend said she seen some at Walgreens. I searched around and finally found one... the last one they had left, in fact! Score! And yeah, I likely won't eat it... it'll sit in my collection along with that other Easter candy I got. lol

...huh, I just noticed it's cracked around the neck. I don't think it was like that when I bought it. Guess I somehow did that. Oops... but it still looks cool, right? Maybe I can find one to replace it when they show up again next year... if they show up again next year. 😅

I seen this at a garage sale for $1. How could I say no? Besides, just look at Marshall on this thing! Too cute, as always! 🥰

Actually, this was yet another lucky find, since I've seen these on Ebay for like $10 (with $5 shipping or so). The fact it's practically in perfect condition is also quite awesome. Living in a small town has it perks!

Last, and it's the priciest item today. I seen this while helping my folks with their shopping at Walmart. They had a few, but they were all Marshall. I wasn't going to get one at first, due to just how big it is, but my mother knows I collect practically anything of Marshall, so she bought it for me. Indeed, I'm already having trouble finding a spot for it, but no doubt I will... eventually... along with the other items on my table. Remember my last few updates? Yeah... most of those items are still sitting there, too. I'm running out of room! lol

That's all for now! I actually do have a few more items coming in the mail, so I'll have a few more things to show off soon enough... Valentines plush dolls, in fact. Ones I expected my local Walmart to get, but they never did. Otherwise, a friend of mine in the UK has offered to send me something I believe is only being sold in her country, so I'll get to add another imported item to my collection soon! I always love doing that, so I'm looking forward to getting it!

As for the Rescue Wheels toys, I've no idea when they'll show up. Maybe in June? July? Whenever the USA finally puts the episodes on their schedule. Now that I think about it, they'll probably be the last toys based on the original designs, huh? All future merch will likely use the new style. We better enjoy it while it lasts, I suppose.

I really wanted to write something for George for his first pole position and I had this is mind

Free Practice at the Hungaroring had been everywhere, FP3 ending with the William's cars in the top 3, "That is something I haven't seen in a while, and I have been here for a long time", one of the older engineers said, the rest of the team agreeing with the surprise laps. And when Qualifying came around, George's pace seemed promising and as they progressed the sessions, George getting his first pole position. The team cheered from the garage until after he got his Pirelli tyre. Many messages of support flooded his phone, either from social media or from his text app, much like yours had ended up there, "Congrats on pole position, my love! I'm so proud of you, call me when you get the chance, I love you!" could be read on his screen. After the team dinner and some discussions about the race tomorrow, George got in his room, discarding his trainers and getting rid of his team raincoat, placing it in one of the hooks. Texting you to see if you were still up, he replied he was going to take a quick shower and then you would videocall after you texted that you were still awake despite being tucked in bed. "Hi handsome, congratulations on your pole position", you said as soon as the connection was settled, George appearing on your screen, his upper body against the headboard of the bed allowing you to appreciate his body as well as his face, hair still damp from the shower as he began to tell you about the day. "I don't think anyone was expecting it but yeah, we did it! Toto even asked everyone on the team to write down in detail every single thing they did since they woke up and what they had for their meals", he chuckled, "That just means everyone's doing a good job, that the car is heading where it is supposed to be. How are you feeling about tomorrow?", you asked, snuggling further into the pillow on George's side of the bed as you pushed the sleeves of his sweater tighter against your fingers, "I feel good about it, I know I have Charles and Carlos right behind me and they'll put up a fight but so will I", he said confidently, "I wish I could be there even more now... And that client isn't as great as they portrayed, the meeting today was just boring stuff and nothing was decided because 'we have tomorrow anyway', ugh", you tried to imitate his voice, "who is that happy to be stuck in a meeting on a Sunday? I love what I do but I also hate it a lot", you exasperated, remembering the client that insisted that the meeting had to be during the weekend, and coinciding with the last race weekend your boyfriend had before break, one where he would be starting on pole. "Wish you were here too, darling. But hopefully you have a good meeting and you can go home and watch the race", he expressed, "realistically, I think the only thing that will come out of that meeting is my brain cells because that man is possibly the slowest thinker I've ever met. But I have already said that I have to be home by midday so I can eat and watch the race, that was non negotiable... and, also, because I'm doing these weekend hours they're giving me two more days of holidays", you beamed. "So two more days where I have to handle you?", George teased, "yeah, a whole 48 hours more of me attached to your hip, I warned you when we got together, you knew what you were getting into, mate", you teased back, "in all seriousness though, I can't wait to spend some time just the two of us, no work to be done quickly and phonecalls all the time. Also, when you get back on Monday, your sister and I thought that we could get together here with everyone, have some dinner", you launched the ideia. Family time was very important to George and you knew that he tried to split his time so he could see them as often as possible, so a nice dinner would be a good way to start summer break, "yeah, that sounds lovely", he replied, talking some more and then bidding you goodbye.

As you suspected the meeting hadn't been all that successful but right now you were just focused on getting home, heating some leftovers from last night and then sit on the sofa to watch your boyfriend race, one of his Mercedes t-shirts wrapping the top half of your body. George lead a good number of laps until he started feeling the pressure from other drivers, and a few battles along the way granted him the third place on the podium. Knowing the team wanted to celebrate the weekend that night, you shared a quick call with him before he headed out to celebrate.

The next morning you left the house early so you could buy some ingredients that were missing for your dinner and desserts, rhe cake you had planned to bake needging a few more and more specific ingredients than the usual ones you kept in the cupboard. When you arrived back home, you put your hair up in a bun and an apron over your comfy clothes, gathering everything and starting with the baking. George would be arriving after lunch so you wanted to get everything ready by then, not wanting to spoil your surprise. Your grandma had made a cake the last time she came to visit you and George, the recipe a classic of hers and George had loved it, wishing it was something he was able to have everyday on his diet, and now that he was taking a break and celebrating his race, you felt like making it for him, along with some other recipes he and his family had showed appreciation for when you had baked them in the past.

Snacking as you went along, you didn't feel hungry enough for lunch, beginning to tidy the mess away as the hour George had told you he'd be arriving approached. You had been sitting down on the sofa for no longer than 30 minutes when you heard the gravel outside along with the engine sound slowing down until it stopped, prompting you to go to the door to greet your boyfriend, "You're back, I missed you, how was the flight?", you said as he entered the door, taking off his shoes while he pressed kisses to anywhere he could reach on your face, "It was good, happy to finally be home, and to be with you. Too lonely out here without me?", he asked, grabbing your hand as he made his way to the kitchen door, "No no no", you grabbed him by his waist, "you can't go in there", you ordered, "Why? Did you blow up our kitchen?", he chuckled, "first of all Mr Russell, I am a very good cook and know how to take care of my kitchen, thank you very much. Second, I have a something in there, that is not burnt," you emphasised, "that I don't want you to see yet", trying your best pouty lip, not wanting him to see the cake you had prepared. "Alright, I won't look, I promise. But can I get a bottle of water, please?", he asked, making his way to the living room as you went to grab it for him from the fridge, "thank you my love", he said as he pressed his lips to your hand.

After enjoying being in eachothers embrace, it was time to get dinner started, turning on the oven as you grabbed everything you needed from the cupboard, setting the table in a simple way and ready for the guests. "I feel like I should help you but I'm afraid of setting foot in the kitchen and seeing whatever it is you don't want me to see", George started as he helped arranging the table, "I can stay in the kitchen and bring the things to the door and you carry them to the table", you suggested, earning a nod from your boyfriend, "you know what this feels like? My mum used to do this to me and my siblings when she had desserts she didn't want us to touch in the kitchen, she would make us stand outside. Did you make a dessert? Oh, I hope it's that really good one from your grandma's recipe", he mused. You had been caught, "my grandma has many recipes", you replied, "all of them are good really, I don't mind which one", he said as you handed him the last plate with some entrées, hearing the knock on the door, "that should be your family, can you get it, love?", you asked as he made his way to the door and you carried on checking the food in the kitchen, happy with how it was coming along.

Cheers and congratulations could be heard from the corridor and living room, your boyfriend greeting everyone that arrived as you wiped your hands on a kitchen towell and headed out to greet them as well. "Y/N, dear, it's so good to see you", his mother, Alison, hugged you as you went around hugging everyone else, asking if they had made a safe trip there, "Auntie Y/N", you heard George's nephew and niece call for you, your legs being immediately hugged by them, "Hi guys, look how grown up you are, you must've gotten taller since I last saw you", you ruffled the hair on their heads before greeting everyone else. You and George lead them to the dining are as they started picking on the food there while you finished it up in the kitchen, "Auntie Y/N, can we come in? Uncle George is not with us", the children asked as you allowed them in, showing them the checkered cake you baked, "this is a surprise for Uncle George", you said with your finger on top of your lips making a 'shh' noise, "because he was the first driver at the start of the race?", one of them hinted, "yeah, and because he was on the podium yesterday too!", you answered and they giggled their way out of the kitchen as you went to call for help, "anyone can help me with the trays from the oven?", getting affirmative answers from George's sister Cara and her husband. Dinner had been lovely, everyone enjoying the food and overall just some wholesome family time, George's hand always close to you under the table as he chatted away.

"Now it's time for your surprise, so if you could close your eyes for me", you asked George as his nephew was quick to get down from his seat, "I'll help too!", the both of you heading to the kitchen to grab the cake and a bottle of a homemade liquor from your parents, handing the little boy the bottle that was lighter than the cake on the stand.

Setting it all on the table, gasps went around the table, George's family recognising the baked good, "It's not fair that you know what it is and I don't", George complained, "You can open your eyes now silly, I hope you like it. Congratulations on your first pole position my love", you said pressing a kiss to the top of his head. Opening his eyes, George was presented with what he said would easily be the best cake recipe he ever had, despite having him mother right in front of him, "I knew it, you were being so secretive about it, I was so sure the checkered cake was coming, it's a shame your grandma isn't here", he said, "Well, I'm sure it's not as good as hers, I swear hers always tastes different, but I did my best", you said as you cut it up and started giving the plates to everyone, "I'm sure it's amazing, thank you darling", George said as he grabbed the hand that was grabbing the plates and kissed the inside of your wrist.

You were now lounging on the living room, only Cara and her husband, and their children, were left as the others decided to head back home earlier, "Uncle George, when are we going to have a cousin? Because my friend Max from school is getting a baby cousin next week. Can we have one too? Next week as well?", his niece asked, and everyone giggled, a blush coming on your cheeks, "mummy said that cousins are the babies from uncles and aunties, and you're an uncle and an auntie", they pointed between you. Sharing a look between you and his sister and brother in law, George replied smiling, "Well, you can't just ask for a cousin and have them come right away, it's not how it works", you tried to reason.

"What a shame, I wanted a cousin to play with me on my game", his nephew said, "and I wanted a cousin to go karting with me next month", his niece said, following her brother's sulking expression, making everyone break into full belly laughs, the children not understanding why the adults were laughing about their badly timed wishes.

After everyone left, you and George tidied the downstairs area before locking up and heading to your bedroom, getting ready for bed. "Is it something you want? To have kids, I mean", George started, "Yeah", you smiled. You had briefly talked about it before on those nights where neither of you could fall asleep and you were in the living room musing about the future, "maybe not now, but in a couple of years, I would like that a lot", you said as you snuggled closer to him, pressing a kiss to his naked chest your had missed sleeping on.

Spoilers for Flash #789!

So we get an explanation for why the Rogues are doing Wolfe's bidding despite him being notoriously awful; they figured they'd just make the most of the opportunity he offered. It may not have been wise (who knows what the guy would do to them as soon as they're no longer useful), but it's understandable. We don't get an explanation for the weirdness with Girder though, so his activity in Dark Crisis may forever be a mystery.

But we do get explanations for how Wolfe is out of prison and successfully able to run for mayor -- he was acquitted, and presumably the voters believed in his innocence or simply didn't care about what he was doing to felons -- and Wally figures out the secret source of his power. Wolfe has been empowered by the Lords of Order to do some of their work on Earth, which of course explains his constant harping on "order". It's a fitting role for Wolfe, who's always been obsessed with law and order and punishing lawbreakers, so he's a good choice for one of their avatars. I don't recall the Lords of Order being quite so rigidly fascist before, but I suppose it's one way to impose order on an increasingly chaotic DCU.

Wally makes a very good speech about the importance of free will and being kind to counteract chaos, which I liked so much that it's included here despite the lack of Rogues. It's good that Adams mentions Wally's time in the Mobius Chair, as it gave him the wisdom and perspective here that makes such a compelling argument. It's easy to forget what happened to him just a few years ago (our time) when he's been so goofy and relaxed since he retook the mantle of the Flash, but he's got a unique POV that very few characters in the DCU will ever have. And the Lords of Order accept his argument "for now", with the stated threat that they'll take action if Wally's suggestions don't work. That clearly leaves the door open to their further involvement, and this may come into play in a future storyline. Interestingly, Wolfe now believes he was wrong based on what Wally has shown him, but it's possible the Lords won't take his no for an answer if they do decide to intervene again. He may find himself their unwitting puppet.

Hartley doesn't do much aside from what we saw in the issue preview, but he does stand with the West family to help Wally when needed, which is nice. The Rogues don't get as much spotlight or development as I'd like, but they do get some good moments like chiding Len for his over-confidence and considering it bad luck; it makes sense for a bunch of guys who've been beaten more often than they'd wish! And they laugh uproariously in a fantastic panel when Wally asks them whether they're willing to reform. Mick says with a smirk that they'll try, and I've got no idea if he's pulling Wally's leg or might actually consider it…he's the one Rogue of the bunch who's given it a genuine attempt in the past, after all.

Wolfe says that the Rogues are needed for an unspecified coming event, which may lead into the imminent "The One-Minute War" story. If so, that's a significant hint that they'll be part of it, and either way they'll probably be appearing soonish. I can't say I've been particularly intrigued by the solicits for the coming arc, but hopefully it'll be good and hopefully we get some quality scenes of the Flash Family teaming up, and maybe the Rogues working with the Flashes to defend the city. It'd also be great to see some lesser-used Rogues helping out as well, and not just the regulars seen in this issue. Hartley will likely be part of Team Flash too.

It's been a pretty good story arc, even if I was hoping for maybe one more issue in it. Hartley and the Rogues could have gotten more development that way, but I guess I'm glad the story wasn't overly padded like some arcs are these days. I think Wolfe's story could have gone on for longer to show the corruption in his system and that hardassed approach to crime, and wonder if it was originally intended to have been a slow-burning background plot and was just cut short for the sake of efficiency. But at least the version we got works fairly well.

You've called for Newsreader discussion and I was compelled to give it to you. And I think I have to rewatch it again because I've recently binged a ton of Sam's other work and now I want to go back to the best of it. I'm so curious as to show they'll start season 2 in regards to Dale and Helen's relationship. Any thoughts? The other Australian show that had a gay character that I've watched (A Place to Call Home) really did him dirty in the end so I'm a little concerned. Dale also seems to be seeped in the internal homophobia right now so I don't see how he could be ready to pursue a relationship with Tim, as much as I'd love that. But I don't know if Helen is going to continue their relationship knowing Dale's feelings for Tim. Season 1 ended in such an interesting place that I think how they handle this storyline will say a lot about the future of the show. It was hard for me to really root for Helen and Dale when he was hiding himself from her and lying to himself so I don't know if we really know the true potential their yet. And I just thought Dale and Tim's chemistry was more obvious than anything else.

Yessss I love talking about this show so much 😂 but I am always really terrible at analysing or figuring out stuff so I like other people to tell me what they think haha!

I have no idea what they'll do with their relationship next series! What are you thinking? I have to say that when Helen said to him that she loves him the way he is I absolutely died because its just the most sweetest lovely thing she could have said to him. Especially since she most definitely did have every right to be mega pissed at him for cheating (I read somewhere that Anna torv improvised that line as well which is just 😍 there's a reason I've had a crush on her for years now haha)

Whenever I think about helen/dale/Tim I basically get myself going in circles haha. I absolutely love all 3 of them for starters so I keep going between them and who I like haha

I think Dale and Helen are really cute together but I genuinely can't decide how much of it between them is dale just wanting it to work or whether he really does love her that way. His trauma has cut him deep so he is clearly repressing so so much. Do you think he's bi or just really really repressed? I go back and forth all the time! As for Tim and dale, they genuinely give me butterflies whenever there's scenes with the two of them I love them together so much! Butttt as you said, I'm not sure how an actual relationship between them would go right now because the boy got so many issues (and no bloody wonder after what happened to him. I would have loved to just kind of stay with Tim as he kind of clicked after hearing what dale went through and putting into place why he reacted the way he did about everything earlier)

I haven't seen that other show! I do always worry about what they'll do for these things as well, but just have to keep fingers crossed! And hopefully we'll get season 2 soon! I cant just keep rewatching season 1 like 3 times a week for the next year 😂

- Combeferre and Enjolras are childhood friends. If you want embarassing photos of Enjolras, you should definitely ask Ferre. He has a collection he brings out from time to time: four-year-old Enjolras with puffy cheeks and his face covered in chocolate from his birthday; Enjolras missing his front teeth in a tree costume made out of coloured paper for school; Enjolras in a pool with arm wings bigger than his head...

- Courfeyrac met Combeferre at theatre club when they were twelve, and he soon was inseparable. He had so many bad ideas as a teenager and he dragged the other two with him. Over and over again, he will say "yeah, so when we were fifteen we did..." and you'll think he's joking, but no, they really climbed to the roof of the abandoned building next to their school at midnight.

- The minute they can, they get an apartment just the three of them. They keep it on and off for the rest of their lives. Life pulls them apart sometimes, like the year Courfeyrac went to do some volunteer work to South America, or when Enjolras got a job in a different city, or when Combeferre decided to try to live with his then boyfriend, but they always come back to each other.

- If you headcanon any of them as dating, this is a Spice Girls situation: if you wanna be one of them's lover, you have to get along with their friends. They are a package deal.

- At some point they develop a chore division that would make Ford proud (although don't tell them that). Enjolras does the grocery shopping and cooks, Courfeyrac washes the dishes and the clothes, and Combeferre does the weekly cleaning.

- They have a common bookshelf with all of their political works. Well, it was one bookshelf when they were young. Now it's an entire wall of the living room. In any case, they keep buying books, and they recommend them to one another. "So, I was reading this book on American imperialism and I think you would enjoy it", "oh, cool, leave it at my bedside table once you're finished". They also gift each other books all the time.

- But it's not all work and no pleasure. Apart from what they play with other people, they have two nights a month where they sit down, whatever is going on with their lives, and play RPGs. They take turns playing game master, and they have half a dozen campaigns open. Which also means that sometimes they'll start talking about their characters' adventures with no context, and people get super confused. "Oh, yeah, like that time when you ran away with all our money and I found you and broke your jaw... that was fun".

Oh god oh fuck I love the three of them so much. Have some (hopefully just as cute!) headcanons in return and thank u for the hug <3 <3 <3

-The three of them met in maternelle/kindergarten/whatever you wanna call it (This is a long boi but I love this headcanon and I've wanted to talk about it for ages). So they're having break time outside, and Courfeyrac is on the swings and Enjolras, who was actually kind of timid as a kid (he was raised in a 'children should be seen and not heard' kind of household, which, eugh) is watching him and would like a turn on the swing. So he steps forward to ask Courfeyrac if he can have a go, but he misjudges the distance and Courfeyrac fucking kicks him in face. Enj falls on the ground in a heap and immediately bursts into tears because, well obviously, he's four years old and he's just been yeeted across the playground. Courfeyrac immediately stops and freaks out, but it's Combeferre who runs over and picks Enj up and calms Courfeyrac down and the two of them take Enj to the nurse's office, and she has a heart attack because oh god why are these four year olds covered in blood. Enj gets three stitches in his lip, and the first day he comes back to school Courfeyrac gives him a stuffed dog and a joint 'Get Well Soon' card Combeferre and he made together. Enjolras still has a small scar above his lip, and he may or may not still have the stuffed dog in his wardrobe somewhere shut up it's really none of your business

-Courfeyrac has a big house and two older brothers, so during the summers Combeferre and Enjolras practically move in. They spend everyday riding their bikes to the beach and playing football or rugby with Courf's brothers and having ice cream for dinner, luckily Courf's parents don't really mind having two extra kids for eight weeks a year

-Courfeyrac and Enjolras were each other's first kiss. The two of them were hanging out because Combeferre was on a date with a girl in their class (didn't know he was greyromantic yet) and Courfeyrac is panicking about "what if I never get kissed?! What if my first kiss sucks because I don't know what I'm doing?!" because he's an insecure teenager. Eventually Enjolras is like "oh my god if you're that desperate to get it over with I will kiss you right now to shut you up" and Courf is like "fine do it then!!!" lol. So they kiss for a lil bit and it's fine but then they break apart and look at each other and just burst into hysterical laughter, because oh my god that's Enjolras and oh my god that's Courfeyrac and what the hell are we doing????? It doesn't mean they don't do it again in the future though....

- It's a game changer when they all pass their driving tests and Courf gets his first car. The three of them go on long drives after school on a Friday and blast music and just have their main character moment, good for them

- When the time came to think about university, they deliberately didn't talk about where they were applying to. They didn't want to hold each other back or pressure each other to stay together. Turns out they all applied to universities in Paris anyway. Nice.

- The three of them understand each other to the point where they can practically have conversations without speaking, and finish each other's sentences. They all understand the other's little idiosyncrasies as well.

- If any of them have had a bad day, or something has happened, it doesn't matter how old they are, Courfeyrac will declare a slumber party and the three of them curl up together in his bed and cuddle until they feel better. Combeferre comes home from a very long, very stressful shift at the hospital, and he never cries but he looks close to tears right now, and Enjolras says "What do you need?" And Combeferre says in a very small, very un-Combeferre voice, "Slumber party" and Courfeyrac just takes his hand and tells him he doesn't even have to ask

TGCF donghua Special Episode Thoughts (SPOILERS for episode & novel!)

Favorite moment:

Of COURSE that amazing ending sequence, which is the mirror of Dianxia's backstory at the end of the first episode, except this time from Hua Cheng's point of view. Speaking of, holy mother of YUM, dear gods, Hua Cheng:

Look at this "hideous" man. I am DROOLING.

Funny thing is, I didn't even know his appearance was supposed to be a secret, that we technically hadn't seen his face yet all this time. I remember we had a super quick glimpse of him in the Banyue pit and I thought that was his reveal, that that'll be all we'll get for now and I was fine with that...that is, until this ending sequence happened and we actually see him in his entirety. My eyes will forever never be the same. What was I even thinking??? The flashes in the pit were absolutely inferior to the real thing. No comparison. He is so gorgeous; I can't WAIT for Xie Lian to meet him next season.

Second favorite moment:

What I love about this scene is first of all it features some of my favorite lines from the novel, "If you don't know what to live for, then just live for me. If you don't know the meaning of life, then take me as the meaning your life." Even though Dianxia was playing it up for dramatic effect, I loved how he crawled towards San Lang and then uttered the lines with such conviction. I LOVED the way the music reached a cresendo during his words--hell, I love the music in this entire episode, this entire show, period. I also love how bittersweet this scene is: here Dianxia is so embarrassed by his own words that he even laughs about them, dismisses them, not know just how much of an effect they had on the person he said them to, how they really did serve to motivate that person to live on, to exist, utterly for him. Not knowing at all that that person he said what he now thinks were silly words to is right in front of him. The irony!

I'm still making my way through the book so I haven't gotten to the part where all is revealed to Xie Lian yet, but I can only imagine how shocking and emotional this particular revelation would be. It'll probably be ten years before we get to see all that in the donghua, if we ever do, but I'm gonna keep on crossing my fingers and hoping.

"I swear, whether in Heaven or or on Earth, you cannot find someone more sincere than me". The subs left out the Heaven or Earth part but it's still such a good line. Love also how San Lang precedes that by trying to reach out to touch Dianxia but is like too afraid to. The donghua really captured his feelings of...I guess I'd call it timid inferiority...so well.

I have a strong suspicion what that ring is (irl, I've seen companies advertising turning ashes into diamonds as a keepsake of your loved ones...never tried it so I don't know if it's the real deal or some kind of scam) and I cannot wait to get to that revelation as well. Putting aside the potential significance of this momento, the fact that Hua Cheng left Dianxia a ring to wear around his neck is already a beautiful gesture on its own.

I already miss seeing how San Lang looks adoringly at Xie Lian. In fact, I think I'm going to miss San Lang for quite a while since next season I think we'll be mostly spending time with Hua Cheng. Not complaining at all since Hua Cheng will no doubt look at Dianxia just as adoringly, but I will miss this cute guy.

Also already missing the cuteness that is Dianxia. I love all his expressions...the way he said "San Lang" just made my heart explode. How can he be this adorable??? Really, bravo to Jiang Guangtao-laoshi, his voice actor, for such an endearing voice performance. I actually started listening to the Qiang Jin Jiu audio drama because I've become a fan. Imagine Xie Lian being super seductive all the time. That's the ear candy I'm enjoying now, even though I only understand like less than half of the plot due to my shoddy Chinese comprehension.

Proud of how San Lang didn't just lose it when Dianxia cradled his face like that. This man really has unbelievable self control.

I loved that they were chatting in bed like an old married couple. I'm sure this is a glimpse into their future married life. 😁

Besides SanLian, I know Banyue was in this episode as well, I still think she's adorable and love her voice, and I'm glad she gets to enjoy a torture-free life now (I am assuming she does).

I'm glad we got this special episode to really close out the season, but I'm still kinda confused as to why we didn't get it at the actual end of the season but rather as an odd stand alone episode like this. Obviously it picked up right where the 11th episode left off, so it would've slotted in perfectly well. I was hoping the reason they held on to it was because they were going to attach a teaser PV for the next season, but alas that wasn't the case. I wonder if they just needed more time to finish the episode. I still don't quite understand how the Chinese donghua industry works: for something seemingly as popular as TGCF, you would think they'd have good enough budget and resources to finish episodes in time and to make more than just 12 episodes. There are other donghua shows I've seen on Bilibili that have blown way past 12 episodes, so I don't understand why they have to stubbornly stick to a dozen only for something like TGCF. Or is it a danmei thing, I wonder. They just don't want to devote the time and resources to danmei shows beyond just 12 episodes? So weird. Again, VERY GRATEFUL we're getting a second season. SINCERELY praying that we get many more seasons after so that eventually they'll finish out the book. God I hope I finish reading before the donghua team finishes putting out the show.

And that brings me to: Current Reading Progress...chapter 160. Look, I'm gonna be honest, I'm just not a fan of the whole jinx demon concept or the Brocade Immortal. I know all mysteries of the week lead back to the gods and their backstory, but as CONCEPTS, I was just NOT into them so I constantly got distracted. I know MXTX-laoshi was under a LOT of pressure from both censorship and just ridiculous deadlines (I was told she had to produce a chapter a day, which is INSANE), so I feel like a douchebag for even thinking anything negative about the book...not to mention I'm only on Book 3 still so maybe all of this will be wrapped up nicely at the end. But for now, yeah, those two as ideas are a bit underwhelming and almost silly (especially the Brocade Immortal) and maybe I don't need the backstory of ALL the gods. Anyway, before anyone yells at me, there's always a chance I might change my mind about all this by the end...which I hope to get to soon. Didn't finish the book in time for this special episode which was my goal, so readjusting the goalpost back a little further...hopefully just a tad...like a few weeks, because I DO want to get to the unrelenting pain soon so that I can get through the suffering and finally to the HuaLian happily ever after ending.

Honestly I just want my body proportions to look good. If I don't see any stomach fat and actually have a defined waist line maybe I'll be satisfied...

Day 2:

164cm , I don't mind it but I wish I was a taller

Day 3:

I've posted this before but I'm in love with everything. The tiny waist, how incredibly flat her stomach is , no large bulging thighs and flawless skin texture.

Day 4:

Being forced to stop or not being able to lose any more

Day 5:

I've always been the chubby girl in my family, but I didn't mind until I started noticing how big I was getting and how much smaller everyone else was. My medium clothes couldn't fit and I had to start wearing large. When I looked down all I could see was fat. Even family members commented on it but in a light hearted manner. When I downloaded tiktok it really opened my eyes to how large I looked in comparison to very pretty girl on my fyp so I decided to change that during quarantine.

Day 6:

Kind of. I would binge for a whole month then hyper restrict for another. I've started to stop that now and I rarely binge except once a week where I'm forced to as I'm visiting family who shove food down my throat

Day 7:

They don't know my goals but they've noticed I've lost weight and are starting to get suspicious and try to force me to eat more

Day 8:

I used to follow a Chloe Ting 2 week ab program but elongated it to be for a couple of months. I don't work out anymore since I got busy but we've just bought an excersise bike which I plan to use every other day

Day 9:

I remember a moment where my cousin came and pinched my stomach and called me pregnant. Felt like crap after and had to hyper restrict the next day.

Day 10:

Sugar, oil and bread.

Day 11:

I don't follow enough to have one but I enjoy most of them

Day 12:

I live with my parents so I have to eat with them at lunch which is usually chicken and rice or curries and rice. For dinner and breakfast I'm in control and try to make low calorie meals.

I mean .... I'm here aren't I. I'd guess un-healthy but I do try to not eat under 800 cals just because I need energy for school

40kg and hopefully soon! Maybe a month and a half. My body takes a while to lose weight in general so we'll have to see.

No but I do avoid beef which may have helped. I'd love to be pescatarian though

I use my sheer will power to refuse it but sometimes it's inappropriate to do so cause they'll worry so I eat and burn it off later or I'll plan my eating a day ahead. I like cooking and baking and being around food though so I typically make things for other people so I'm not tempted to indulge. And my stupid brain enjoys the idea of fattening those around me while I stay thin?? It's very stupid and effed up but it makes me feel better and I hate it. Occasionally I'd let myself eat something if it'll prevent a binge

Day 28:

No I don't really like them but I do want smaller thighs in general

Beauty is subjective but these are the traits I find beautiful;

- curly or wavy hair

- hourglass figure

- flat stomach

-even skin texture

- body is hairless

- no pore in sight

- straight white teeth

- coloured eyes ( including light browns)

- no acne or acne scars

- no eye bags

But sometimes I find people beautiful even when they don't fit this standard in my head

Meera ran inside her bedroom and in a split second shut the door on Jaebeom's face.

Aish that good-for-nothing, I'm gonna sue her. What do I do now? Hissed Meera feeling shameful of her present state.

"That's okay, this is why I came here. " Smiled Jaebeom. "Can you please let me in now?"

" No- please- I really look like a cave-man right now, trust me, you'll forget all thoughts about marrying me."

Jaebeom was chosen by Meera's parents for her Arranged marriage because she was very engrossed in her work as a software engineer and had previously turned down all prospective offers that came her way.

Naturally, Mrs Seungmae was worried that eventually her precious, hard working and eldest daughter who deserved the world would end up having no one by her side because of her reserved personality.

Meera didn't like the idea at first , and she still had a lot to get done, so Jaebeom proposed that they should date instead for a while to get to know each other and also so that Meera gets comfortable enough around him.

Meera was an all rounder according to him. She was stern but sweet , clumsy but admirable, simple but beautiful, tall, long hair, thoughtful- the list goes on. But more than anything, she was earnest. She was tailor-made for him and he wanted to be perfect for her.

"Ahahahahaha. You're worried about that?" laughed Jaebeom heartily.

"Meera , did you forget I've seen you in your worst state, when you were drunk?"

Mom :- "What? When did that-"

In a swift motion the door was opened and a cold hand pulled Jaebeom inside the room before Mrs. Seungmae could even digest the shocking revelation of her daughter being drunk.

Of all people. Her daughter.

Looking towards a clueless Jaebeom Meera pleaded in a hushed tone- "don't speak anymore."

"Mom? Didn't you have to go to Aunt Saeri's house? She's waiting."

"Oh, yes I know. But let me come back home then you see what happens to you. "Chastised her mom.

However, Jaebeom who was looking at the state of Meera's room thought- okay, she really is a mess right now.

Meera ran to the bathroom to deposit the contents of her system.

She felt like vanishing from existence that very moment. In the room was her soon-to-be fiancè, all clad in gentlemanly aura, and here she was, a pathetic excuse of a woman, who has no elegance, no sophistication and her dignity going down the drain with every passing second.

Jaebeom came from behind and he gathered all the hair strands and held them behind her head all the while stroking her back gently.

At the sudden touch, Meera motioned with her left hand for him to go away but he didn't budge.

"We are in a relationship, it's natural for a man to do this for the girl."

After hearing those words,Meera couldn't say anything to him and let him help.

I'm not a kid , even my own mom didn't show me any sympathy when I was hurtling in the morning.

"I'm so sorry you had to witness that."

"It's okay,I didn't know your situation was this bad until i came here so I didn't bring any sick people's food." Said Jaebeom while cleaning her room.

Meera was resting on the bed , laying against the headrest, as Jaebeom instructed her to.

" 'Sick people's food', hehe" repeated Meera.

"You should go back now jaebeom-ssi,you must be having so much work."

" No worries, I don't have any work today. Plus, my sister is having a party at home. Aaaand it was very loud so I came to spend the day here."

"Oh no, you didn't have to take a day off because of- "

"Today is a Sunday, Meera."

"Right! right, ohoho, yeah..." flustered, Meera closed her eyes and pretended to go to sleep.

Just then Meera's mom, chimed, "Meera? I'll be leaving now. Jaebeom-ssi, do you want me to give you some breakfast?"

"Oh, that's not required Ma'am, I already ate, although, I would love to have lunch- if it wouldn't be too much trouble."

" Why not? I'm sure Meera would love to have you too. Thankyou so much for taking care of her , I'll be back soon!"

It was 2 pm now, Jaebeom was on his phone seated across from Meera on the bed, while said person was working on her laptop, now that her condition was a bit stable.

"Jaebeom-ssi?"

"Yes? "

"Do you always wear suits? Like, it's your day off, no? So shouldn't you be in shorts or t-shirts? " asked Meera looking at him curiously.

"I do, but I was going to my soon-to-be fiancee's house, I thought I had to look handsome and manly in front of your parents." Jaebeom smirked, playfully.

Amused by his answer Meera went back to her work , grinning.

"They'll confirm the engagement date by next month." Meera stated, eyes not leaving her computer screen.

"Yeah, I got to hear about it from my sister." After a hesitant moment later he spoke, "Meera?".

"Hmm?"

She seemed a bit engrossed in her work, a trait Jaebeom respected her for. Even though she wasn't in a good enough condition to work, that didn't deter her from completing the task she was committed to.

And he admired her for that .

"I have an office gathering, coming Thursday...... would you like to accompany me ? My colleagues wanted to meet you before the, you know..... engagement."

Meera looks up to find Jaebeom looking straight at her.

(Suddenly conscious) " Oh sure! I would love to meet them! Hopefully I'll become healthy by then.

With a small smile Jaebeom replied, "We're good then."

"Meera! I'm home." Announced Mrs. Seungmae.

"I feel okay enough to get up now. Shall we head downstairs for lunch?" Facing Jaebeom , Meera asked.

"After you." Replied Jaebeom cheekily.

Smiling, Meera announced, "we're coming mom, let's have lunch."
