hello!! i saw the tags on your pinned post abt how shoujo wasn't just romance and it got me curious bc i've read some nice shoujo but really dislike romance-heavy plots. are there any shoujos you like that don't have much or any romance in them? ty and i hope you have a good day! 💛
Oh, there are lots of mangas that are classified as shoujo and don't have romance!!
I am just now beginning my journey through shoujo as well, so I don't have a lot of recommendations for stuff I actually read, but the ones I did read or watch so far are:
Natsume Yuujinchou and basically anything else by its author, Yuki Midorikawa. Sometimes, her works do include romance, but the focus is almost always in the interpersonal relationships and the difficulties her characters go through in life. NatsuYuu is about an orphan boy who can see yokai, and for that reason he acts in "weird" ways and his foster families dislike him, so he keeps going from family to family. The story is about how he finds a good family who accepts and loves him, makes friends, and learns to make friends even with yokais.
There are currently 6 anime seasons out, and a 7th season is on its way, so you can either read the manga or watch the anime.
Tumblr media
Akatsuki no Yona - i mean, this one does include romance, but i'll still put it on the list because as far as the anime went the focus is heavy on Yona's actual journey to gather the dragons of legend to be able to recover the kingdom that was stolen from her. It shows how Yona goes from a sheltered spoiled girl to a person befitting the title of dragon king.
Tumblr media
My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom - this one is the og villainess isekai and it truly deserves the hype. It is about a girl who wakes up in the child body of the villainess of her favorite otome game. She remembers that the villainess' fate in the game was always either death or exile, so she tries her hardest to change her fate. This one is classified as a reverse harem, but the main character is pretty oblivious and worries more about farming and eating sweets and generally being the best girl ever than actually worrying about romance. Aro ace queen tbh. And her harem is just happy to be with her and be dragged along for her stupid adventures. Plus, the female members of her harem are taken seriously as well, Mary is a raging lesbian and it is not subtext. I mean, it is a shoujo, so of course the female characters would be important lol.
Tumblr media
Usagi Drop - listen to me. You will absolutely not look for anything related to this manga. If you like the premise you can watch the anime. But, please, do not look for the manga. You will only be extremely disappointed by it. That being said, I recommend the anime. It is about a man who returns home for his grandfather's funeral and then finds out his grandfather had an illegitimate daughter who has now become an orphan. He ends up having to take care of her because the rest of the family considers her a shame to the family.
Tumblr media
Now, for the stuff I havent seen yet, I'll just write some that are on my "plan to read" list and put their genres next to their names so you can check it out if you think the genre's sound interesting:
7 Seeds (drama, horror, psychological, sci fi, survival)
Requiem of the Rose King (drama, historical, supernatural, gender identity)
Basara (drama, fantasy, adventure) (i think this one has romance, but from what i've heard, the main character's story is a lot deeper as she takes her brother's identity in order to fight against the king who killed her brother, it is pretty famous and considered a classic)
Ghost Hunt (horror, mystery, psychological, supernatural)
Helter Skelter (horror, psychological)
My Stepmother and Stepsisters aren't Wicked (comedy, historical, slice of life)
Ikoku Nikki (drama) (this one is the one i'm currently most interested on, i hear it's about a distant woman who's never had a good relationship with her sister and now has to take care of her teenage niece because her sister died)
Itsuwari no Freya (crossdressing, historical)
Limit (drama, psychological, school) (this one sounds incredible tbh, on a field trip their bus gets into an accident and only 5 girls remain, having to learn to survive and trying to assert themselves over one another because they hate each other.)
Machida-kun no sekai (school)
Mitarai-ke, Enjou suru (drama) (the main character wants to infiltrate the household of the family who blamed her mother for a fire, in order to prove her mother's innocence)
Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You (comedy)
Uramichi Oniisan (comedy, showbiz, workplace)
Usotoki Rhetoric (mystery, historical)
Don't Call It Mystery (mystery)
If anyone has more things to recommend I would also love to hear about it!!

He said in a hard tone.
They nod their heads in agreement ."And you have to learn to share I'm going to take you VCR and DVD player until you you both can show me you can compromise." "What does that mean daddy" Mabel asked " it means you meet each other halfway in other words, you get to watch your show for 20 minutes and Dipper gets to watch his show for 20 minutes." He takes their DVD player and VCR and leaves. They watch him put them up in a closet in the hallway the hallway has brown wooden paneling.
The twins sit on their own beds because there noting they want to do except watch TV.  "This is stupid I want my own room"he wines then he has an idea he walked around their room and grabbed a ribbon. And tied it to a table "what if we had are own room this is my Side" he tied the ribbon,to the window ."How how am I gonna get out of here" she added " easy you climb out the window and slide down the tree." He told her "I don't think so I will find a way out" she looked around and climbed the big curtain.
And held on and climbed her way over to Dipper's bed and landed on it" ta-da" she cheered. "I want my own room too lets play a game of chicken" she suggests " you have to move out" she told him "no you move out" he argues . Their mother took them to the hairdresser to see what they could do about the bald patches. And she gave them both little wigs to wear until the bald patches grow back. The orthodontist
Dec,6,2008
The 9 year old twins sat at the orthodontist because Mabel needs Braces to straighten her teeth.Their mom and the kids wait in the waiting room "how are you doing" he asks her she looks a little nervous. "I'm worried. '' she said . "I can come in and hold your hand if you like. I'm scared of the dentist too. I will be right by your side" he reassured her.
"Honey bunny your fearless you can do this"Catherine rubs her head and tells her daughter “Mommy thanks for trying to make me feel better but I still nervous” she told her."Mabel Pines" the doctor said and they follow him.Holding hands she sit down the doctor explain what they are going to do they clean her teeth then put on a adhesive to hold the brackets on just the top row of teeth.
They have a TV pointed up so she can watch it. It's playing one of her favorite movies, the little mermaid . The doctor goes to get some more tools She sits in her chair in a ball and puts her rainbow sweater over her head and hides. He known Mabel has done a lot of weird things like laying on his bed upside down and imagining how people would walk, eating a scratch and sniff sticker and having to go to the emergency room, or meowing like a cat in her sleep but this was new. "Mabel what are you doing" he asks "Mabel not here she in sweater town". "Well I'm still going to stay here by your side I'm not going anywhere" the doctor comes back she peaks her head on of the sweater a bit. Then she pulls it down "are you ready for us to start" the nurse said "yes I am" she takes a deep breath and blows it out.
They start cleaning and drying the teeth after they put the adhesive on her teeth. Then they get ready to put on the brackets and she jesters her hand to get Dipper to come over. He moves the chair over. And grabbing her hand she calms down. They put the brackets on one by one and the wire on.Later they're all done she gets a pig sticker. They go out to the waiting room and the doctor explains how to clean her teeth. And what she can't eat chewy foods, crunchy foods, sticky food.
He suggested eating soft foods and chewing carefully and making sure to floss and brush. He gave her a paper with the thing he just said to help her. She's a little sad she can't eat gum and other stuff she used to.They go home and she plays with her tamagotchi and he plays on his DS then they had grilled chicken and soft carrots for dinner and a brownie. The kids put on a play for their parents they make props the stage and curtains. It’s set up in the living room. It’s about a wizard that is lonely and the girl with Magical powers has to help him fight a monster. Their mom loves it she takes pictures their dad laughs at their jokes. After the twins took their showers they flossed and brush their teeth. Mabel brush a lot afraid some food might be stuck then they get ready for bed." You still think I'm pretty right" she asked him " yes of course you're my sister and the braces will help your teeth be less squished" he told her. "Thank you bro bro" "you want a awkward sibling hug"he asks "yes please" they go out of their beds and hug "pat, pat".
Michael comes in and tucked them in to bed.And tells them he will always love them and they should always be there for each other and protect each other .They agree they will no matter what ,they will no matter what they go through or where they are they will always protect each other and be there for each other. “Good night daddy” Mabel said he kissed her on cheek “good buddy” he said to Dipper “ok” he replied his dad pulled his blanket on him.And he closed the door Mabel crawl in his bed and sleeps with him and they slept through the rainy winter night.
The movies

And find out We were having fraternal twins, identical twins are when you have one egg that split into two separate babies you two came as two babies one boy and one girl we don't know at first we could if had two girls or two boys. But I got lucky you ended up being both. Then we pick out names and got baby stuff and put up purple wallpaper in the nursery" she told them "what about when we were born" Mabel asks.

Mabel was born first ""alpha twin alpha twin" she cheered herself on "hey by 5 minutes what took me so long" he asked his mom . "Well when you came out you were having trouble breathing I was worried that was first time you scared me but the doctor help you that was the hardest day of my life. But it was Worth it to bring you my babies in to the world. And your dad was there and grandpa and Grunkle Stan'' she finish telling them.
"That how I got my birthmark" he said "yes dippy your birthmark means you are destined for greatness".She saids "and you my honey bunny with your problematic enthusiasm are also very loving to everyone you meet" she hugs her children "I love you two" she said they hug her back."we love you mom" he told her "yea we really do" Mabel added. "You know you two hated being separated as babies. Sometimes we would have to put you two together in the same crib and you would sleep all night" .
"Yea no matter where we go we always project each other" he said " we're best friends"she added they fist bump each other. "you'll always be my babies no matter how big you get" she loving told them and she kissed them on their heads hug her more. "Mom how does the baby get to the moms belly" Mabel said "you'll learn when you're older honey" she replies "why can't you just tell us" Dipper asks. "I promise you that you'll learn when your older time for dinner" she said Dipper grumbled "okay" Mabel sat down at the table.
Then they’re dad cooks dinner and they eat grilled chicken and a salad. Then they have a Cookie for dessert. Then they have their showers he was made to shower and they got ready for bed. Mabel nits a a pink sweater her grandma Dorothy taught her how to knit when she was 6 years old and Dipper reads a comic book their mom tucked them in and kissed them goodnight they go to bed.
Outside games
January /18/2012
The 12 Year old twins were playing in their backyard the backyard had a brown fence and a old light blue and white playhouse. And a small swing set with a slide they were sitting on the swings.Mabel is wearing light blue shirt with ponies on it and rainbow pants she asked "hey Dipper let's play house" "no aren't we two old to play things like house" he told her he is wearing red shirt it with blue shorts. "Well I don't think so please dipping sauce. '' she begged "ok fine but can I play the game after" she pinky swear.
They played together. She used her stuffed animals as the kids and she was the mom and he was the uncle they played for a long time. "Can we play something else please" he asked "in a minute I'm having fun" she told him." Well I'M NOT YOU PROMISE AFTER I COULD PICK THE GAME" he yelled and climbed up the slide ladder and sat back turned to her.
"What happened?" Catherine asks her daughter. "I don't know we played house together and he got upset" Mabel told her.She didn't realize that he didn't want to keep playing. "What do you think you should do? It's ok to play together but you need to think about what he wants to do too honey. You both need to be there for each other so you both can have each other's back" she told her.
Mabel agreed and climb up and slide "hi Dipper I'm sorry I didn't realize you weren't having fun"she apologized he turned around. "Thank you it's okay I'm sorry for yelling " "awkward sibling hug" she said "sure" they hug each other "pat pat" he said. "Think about how many times we had been there for each other. Like when we were learning to ride bikes when we were 7 years old."she reminds him "yeah that was kind of scary" he said "and funny you won't stop screaming."She laughed "Or when it was Valentine's Day in 5 grade and I didn't get any candy or cards"he said. "Yeah I almost got in a fight with the kids that make fun of you but the teacher said I could be suspended" "So I gave you some of mine valentines"she reminds him "Thanks sis".
"What do you want to do now?" she asked "umm can we play ghost hunters". They played at a haunted house together there. Mom calls. Them in for dinner they wash their hands in the kitchen the kitchen is small and little blue color and sit down in the small dining room the wall are a light orange color and table is a brown they have fish and a salad. They sit in the living room on the purple couch watch the Simpsons on TV.Then Mabel wants to play with Dipper they play Pokémon with his cards and have fun.
Then take their showers then their mom tucked them into bed and kissed them good night the kids. "Hey Dipper guess what" "I don't know what" "I love you" she whispers "I love you too" he whispers back. You can see winter nights, stars and the light from the moon outside their Square window. they can also see Mabel's glow in dark stickers she stuck on her side of her room, glow and shining on the dark looking tan walls the kids sleep through the night.
Michael and Catherine  talk about what to do with the twins for the summer. They have been going through a rough patch in their marriage and don’t want the kids. To see them fighting. Michael makes a phone call and talks to Stan about the twins staying with him for the summer. Also so they are not be alone by themselves while their parents are at work. And it would be nice for the kids to get outside make some memories that aren’t just boredly watching tv. Dipper would probably just play video games all summer. Mabel would probably just watch tv in their room as well. Their parents would send  them to a summer camp or something but they never been to a place like that before. And it's a lot of money to send two kids to camp.He thinks that a great idea and can't wait for June.Michael knows that he's not the most trustworthy person and he's cheep but he loves the twins. So it's set up the kids are going to Oregon for the summer.
May,30,2012 The day before the last day of school the twins eat breakfast at the small kitchen table their mom said "hey kiddos guess where your going for the summer". "Disneyland" Mabel guess "summer camp" Dipper ask he hope so "no you're going to spend the whole summer with Grunkle Stan" Michael told them. “He would babysit you two when you were little” Catherine remembers. "Oh ok I remember him a little bit it will be fun. Remember he sends us birthday presents and Hanukkah cards, well sometimes.” She tells Dipper “yeah he does call us on occasion but why don’t we see him more often ” he says. “I remember on thanksgiving he gave me some some stickers" Mabel said.
"And he gave me a a "special" spoon that he stole from an inn." But why?” Dipper asks “umm because we think it will be nice for you too to get some fresh air. And not Watch TV all summer” Michael explained hope he doesn’t ask the real reason they’re going away. “Ok but were are going exactly" he question. "Up in a little town in Oregon we will drive you kids up halfway and then you'll take the bus and he'll meet at the bus stop"Catherine told them."we already packed your bags and we will leave here by 7:00 am so today is your last day " their dad finished saying. They go to school then when they got home they wash up and packed the stuff they wanted to bring for the summer. And then started their trip in the morning driving on the redwood highway. And their parents drove for a while they got to the bus station.By 3:00 pm they were in crescent city CA then they get to a bus for 3 hours and arrive in Gravity Falls Oregon.
They said goodbye their dad he said to have fun write letters and he loves them .They hug him goodbye And their mom told them that no matter what happens always take care of each other and always project each other. They hug her goodbye she kisses them on the top of their heads. Their parents just need a few months away from themselves to resolve their issues. They don’t want the kids to be worried or involved in their problems. The twins ride for a couple hours then the bus stop they get off it's 6:00pm at night. A tall man in a green shirt tells them he's supposed to pick up Mabel and Dipper Pines and tell them to come with him down the road in the woods. They follow him he says he name is Soos he works for Mr Pines the kids trust him a little but they stay alert in case this turns out to be some kidnapping or something. That what they parents said to protect each other.
They see a shack with the woods it said the mystery shack on it and they know it's is the place the nice man said Mr Pines live here but he's sleeping. That what he was told Stanley was actually downstairs working on the portal. The man gives them some leftovers for dinner. After they eat the kids go upstairs to the attic where he said they would be sleeping. The twins go upstairs and open the door they see to beds one with a blue blanket, sheets and a pillow. And the other one with pink blanket, sheets and pillow they start to set up their room with the stuff they bought. They are so tired they crawl into bed and sleep. The next morning they meet their great uncle he ok a little grumpy. He says he has to go work and they have to help him with work he also tells them don't get in trouble. And they start a summer they won't forget.

Shane/leah? Tell me more! They are my two favs, but i've never thought about them as a couple.
Okay SO my affinity for Shane/Leah is a fairly recent thing (I fully credit @coolcoolglasses and @floopthecooper for fueling this particular fire and brainstorming with me haha).
My relationship with this ship has been a month-long slow-burn enemies-to-lovers kind of situation. My initial gut reaction of "eh that would never work" quietly progressed into "oh wait they might be cute, actually" and then into "oh NO! i'm invested!!"
So, reasons why I think Shane/Leah would work:
"Hello, neighbor. We both live outside of town. Does that mean something?" (from Leah’s dialogue). They're both a little introverted, and a bit non-conformist, and they both moved to Pelican Town to escape their old life. While that doesn't automatically make them kindred spirits, it's not nothing.
Leah is the sort of person who's willing to sit with someone in whatever they're going through, instead of trying to fix them or cheer them up, and that's what Shane needs. He doesn’t need a savior, he needs support.
Bonding over nature/animals. Leah talks a lot about how much she loves farm animals, even before she's interested in the farmer, and a good portion of her high-heart dialogue is along the lines of, "Oh, gosh, a farm sounds so nice, I love farms! Wouldn't it be awesome to have help on your farm? Maybe me??" Leah would absolutely jump at the chance to help take care of the animals on Marnie's ranch, is all I'm saying.
Narrative parallels. Leah's arc is partly about finding the confidence to present her art to the world, which involves a huge level of vulnerability; Shane's arc is about a lot of things, depending on how you slice it, but vulnerability's one angle.
Also, not to project all over Shane (read: absolutely to project), but an important component of my mental health recovery has been "hope"— not hope as a feeling, but hope as an action— as buckling down and trying, even if you're scared or tired or aren't feeling positively about it. You know all those "going on my daily stupid walk for my stupid mental health >:(" memes? To me, that has recovery!Shane vibes. He's grumpy about it, sure, but that just means he's gotta do it grumpy.
And Leah's arc is chock-full of Hope As An Action. Being an artist is a constant struggle of "this thing I am making will not turn out as perfect as it is in my head, and I will make it anyway." Leah often expresses uncertainty about her own level of talent, but she puts herself and her work out there in spite of that, and she gets stronger and more self-assured the more she does it.
(Putting the rest of this under a cut because it got long oops)
What they value in a partner. Leah values someone who's okay with simplicity, who's straightforward and honest (which Shane generally is, when he's not putting up a front to push people away). She also wants someone who will believe in her and respect her, and I think Shane would not only respect her unique traits, but admire them. Having a goal you're passionate about in the first place is awesome, but being willing to fight for it? That takes guts.
I think Shane values honesty, steadfastness, and realism, but also needs someone whose realism is cut with hope and determination instead of pessimism. Also, per earlier discussion, he needs someone who's willing to sit with him at his lowest points instead of trying to fix him. Someone who's independent and can offer support, but who's also good at setting and respecting boundaries.
(Also, while we're on the topic of Things They'd Appreciate About Each Other, I do think Shane would appreciate that Leah is capable of breaking him in half. Like, he passes her chopping firewood on his way to work one day and goes "hope this doesn't awaken anything in me" lmao)
They have similar senses of humor. They both have dry sarcasm vibes to me, with a side of terrible puns. I'm not elaborating on this at all, I just think it's true.
Consider also: Leah hanging out with the ranch family. Found family tropes! Coming over for meals, bringing over a hearty soup when the ranch fam gets sick, coming over to sketch the chickens. (If doodles of Shane end up on her pages more often than the chickens do, well…)
I tend to headcanon Leah as having been through the wringer a bit re: her own mental health post-Kel, so while her situation does differ from Shane's, she does understand facets of what he's going through. And when she needs to vent about Kel, or needs time to process something that's triggered her, Shane's in a similar position— even if he doesn't fully get it, he can still empathize, make space for her, and also sometimes get angry about it with her, which she finds oddly validating.
I can talk about this for hours but I will stop here!!
The main difficulty I see in them getting together is that Shane tends to rebuff people, and Leah would take his "leave me alone" at face value because boundaries are important to her for Personal Reasons (i.e. Kel-related trauma), so they’d need some sort of contrived circumstance to force them to interact with one another long enough that he lets his walls down a bit…
Once he does, though, they'd get along like a house on fire, and I have a giant cardboard box full of contrived circumstances that I'm itching to use on them :)

What is the dumbest/worst injury Tinwe and her siblings have gotten in the 4th age?
OH OK GET READY BESTIE, I'm even giving you whether it was a dumb or serious injury. It's a long one, so everything is under the cut lol
Maedhros – dumb injury – I can see him go unscathed through the whole embodiment business. BUT THEN he gets curious of Bilbo and frodo and Samwise because what the fuck is a hobbit? He goes to their smial (yes they have a hobbit size smial in Aman. They like feeling at home ok?) And maedhros, our poor tall boy, smacks his head inside on a cross beam so hard he gets a cut on his forehead.
Maglor – dumb injury – he's restringing a harp for the fist time again, but pulls the strings too tight. One snaps and hits his eye and cheek. Claims to be blind, but all he's got is a watery eye and a red mark for a few hours. Bestest boy who tries not to accidentally kills himself after surviving into the 2nd age.
Celegorm – dumb&serious injury – After being reembodied he kept away from the forests for a while, but then he goes out to try hunting for the first time again. Curufin accompanies him (bc they refused to be returned without the other). But celegorm's reflexes are still a bit wonky, and so he accidentally shoots curufin instead of some rabbit. Curufin throws a stone at him and hits him in the head, leading to a small wound but big bruise. It's not as bad as it looks.
Caranthir – dumb injury – after embodiment he's got some issues with dexterity which is not ideal for embroidery, right? He stabs himself with needles so often his fingertips are constantly adorned with little pinpricks. One time he let's a needle fall from these very dexterity troubles and accidentally steps on it. tinwe has to get it out of his foot.
Ranyatinwë – serious injury – she's got these random hand tremors bc she never went through Mandos so those didn't go away, right? Either she tries to ignore them (as she's wont to) and does some cooking and slices off the first knuckle of her finger (it does get re-attached and heals again); OR she is painting something and falls a few feet off a platform she's using to get the upper parts of her painting done. Bruises aplenty for that one.
Curufin – serious injury – the aforementioned arrow shot by Celegorm. He's mad af at Celegorm bc never in his entire fucking life as Celegorm ever missed a shot, but now he misfires? Bullshit. He makes Celegorm take him to a healer and explain the situation without making it sound like some kind of kinslaying lol. It only hit his shoulder or upper arm, but damn that bitch hurt.
Amrod – dumb&serious injury – falls down a tree. That's it. I hc him as the more skittish twin after embodiment, so he hid in random trees. But since the bending of the world, aman got a whole slew of new animals, including bird species. One of them hides in the same tree and the new noise so close to his head startled Amrod, and he just. Flops down to the ground. Breaks an ankle, but it's an open break, so ouchie
Amras – dumb injury – burns himself with tea. He's also got dexterity issues after getting out of Mandos, and he kinda forgot how heavy a full mug is. Paired with being distracted by something (totally not tinwe's baby) the mug just falls straight into his lap and gives him some light burns bc my god that tea was fucking hot.
Bonus: fëanor – super fucking stupid injury – falls down the stairs bc he's babysitting and got upstairs for a moment. Baby cries, feanor runs but wears only socks, and slips down hald the staircase. Bumps and bruises Nerdanel has to put ointment on.

Last Monday of the Week 2023-06-19
Pathetic quilt stunt achieves nothing
Listening: A lot of MiSLeD, a small South African punk band. I started listening to them a while ago because I needed an album to pad out a bandcamp Friday and they turned up. It took a while to warm up to their extremely, unbelievably blunt style. Very little subtlety, but good loud angry music. Here's the hyperlocal anti-cop "Carguard in Disguise" from their acoustic album "Rolling Blackout"
Reading: Among other things rereading the webcomic Postcards in Braille, by Kurisquare. Cute, low-plot slice of life comedy comic from 2014-2017. I have no clue how I found it way back and I've never been able to remember the name until I tracked it down recently. Follows a bunch of friends hanging out and going through low stakes emotional scenes. The protagonist is blind and the author puts some neat well researched notes on adaptive technology in the comic, which has come in handy for me more than once.
I should really check out her other comics now that I've tracked it down, she's got a bunch of new ones out since I last encountered her work.
Watching: I have begun the grand Fast and Furious Watch, so far I've got two book reports and three movies down. Tokyo Drift is so, so stupid it's taking me a minute to write it all down. Go check the #furious book report tag to see the first two.
Making: My weird awful washer-dryer decided to steam-dry(?) the Penrose quilt instead of being normal so I'm dealing with colour runs. Mostly washing and rewashing without letting it dry, plus using some "colour catchers" which are dye-attracting sheets that seem to help a little.
Felt very sick when I first saw that! It's cleared up a lot and it should be fine but still! Not great! It's nine months of hand sewing, and there's basically no way to easily fix any damage to the main patchwork. Most of the runs are confined to the backside so that's good, and the worst of it is already gone.
Playing: Terra Nil, a Devolver Digital city builder themed as an ecological reclamation game. You show up to a barren wasteland and you have to revive the soil, put down biomes, adjust the climate, and establish an ecosystem. Saw it on Loading Ready Run:
youtube
It's pretty fun, desktop and mobile deal as most Devolver games are, and if you have Netflix it's bundled in the game subscription system they have.
I've cleared the main missions which unlocks another round where you go through variants of the same environments, each one has unique challenges like a tropical environment where you have to establish coral on land and move it to the ocean, or a volcanic environment where everything is covered in ice to begin with. Very tricky when you start each level but once you establish yourself you build up a pretty good safety net.
The main gimmick is that at the end of each level you have to pack up all your terraforming equipment and take it with you, which necessitate a trail of monorails or canals that you close up behind you.
The most frustrating thing is the animal system, which is bad because it's illegible in two directions. You have to select small regions that meet the criteria for an animal to live in it, stuff like "contains ice and ocean and prey", and it's not always clear why something is failing or saying you've only partially met some demand. In addition there's no easy way to see which conditions you need to meet as you're playing, so you either need to constantly tab into the information book or you need to just hope you don't accidentally screw yourself in the endgame. I haven't yet but it's been close, I once had just barely enough bamboo near grassland to get pandas.
Tools and Equipment: here's a tech tip: you basically never have to hot wash anything unless you're explicitly trying to sterilize it or kill mites or whatever. Modern detergents are very good at removing grime even at room temperature. I mostly wash things at 30-40°C. It saves energy and reduces long term damage to your clothing. You should however probably hot wash fabric before you sew with it, and we suspect that's part of why the quilt ran: my mother was in charge of washing it and probably just put it in at her normal 30°C cycle instead of a hotter prewash.

"I carry the name."
He stated with a shrug. His father was the most famous Luthor in history, too. Lena could deny that all she wanted but he had a slice in the pie as well. Too bad for her that Leo wanted the whole pie instead.
"Soon, I'll take the company too. With my loving Auntie beside me, happy at the thought of helping me bring LexCorp to new heights under its most unlikely leader!"
He said with a sing-song voice, rather animated in mannerisms.
"Lex Luthor was my father, and he was a better father than he had any right to be. But I'm not him. I'm not a super-genius like him. Or you, in that regard. I don't share his delusions either. I don't have a grudge against the big old Superman in the sky, nor his lovely cousin. I don't care about an interspecies pissing contest. In fact, I find cooperation much more valuable."
He said with a wink and probably the dirtiest of smirks he'd shown Lena thus far. There was an implication in his words.
"Like I said, you will help me. You won't have a choice in the matter."
He openly showed the remote in his hands before pointing at the large screen laid in front of Lena's unfortunate seat.
"I'm going to press this button and that large screen will open up with a video designed to show you your new place in my company. At the end of it, you'll be the dutiful employee and the loving aunt I want you to be."
His smirk fell and a small frown formed upon his face.
"Or, you can be clever, close your eyes. It probably won't be as effective if you don't watch the thing, after all. Should you do that, you'll come to find that I'm more than willing to put my Plan B into motion. You can think of this as a bluff, or start to respect me enough to realize that Plan B is worse for you than just letting yourself be brainwashed. The choice is up to you, dearest Auntie."
Then, he pressed the button and the screen came to life...
at least he wasn't completely like Lex in that regard. she had worked so hard to get the kryptonians to trust her, to be her friends. for them to overcome the name she bore...
but then, maybe the young man was more like Lex. her brother had threatened to brainwash her before, when she got a little... out of hand. when she'd taken the company from him, he'd told her she'd regret it. was that this day?
lena scoffed. "Lex thought he could do the same thing," she muttered, shaking her head. maybe delusions ran in Lex's bloodline, who knows? she shook her head, even as he brought the TV up, the screen at the moment blank.
in fact, lena was so sure that the whole thing was stupid that she knew she'd watch the video. she wouldn't give him the satisfaction of closing her eyes like she was scared of this. she glared at him, and let her eyes firmly focus on the screen.
"do you fucking worst," she hissed, lena glaring almost hatefully at him... even as the screen came to life...
and her mind shut off.

I know I've brought this up before, but how much of the fandom reception of the prequels do you think stemmed from the genre dissonance? That the prequels, genre-wise, are closer to high fantasy, while the OT is more an adventure/space western/underdog triumph story.
The prequels also have elements more reminiscent of a romantic period/court drama/Shakespearean tragedy, while if you consider the underdog angle of the OT, the OT also seems kinda similar to some of those inspirational movies about sports teams or something, or a shonen anime with the "Power of Friendship".
I'm just saying, these are rather disparate genres that tend to attract different demographics of people.
And not many people tend to be... great about understanding why they don't like something, much less putting it into words, or understanding that they can dislike something without that something being actually bad. (For example, instead of "I just don't really like [thing]," the usual statement is something along the lines of "[thing] absolutely sucks.")
So the usual response is trying to find (and gather) solidarity while putting down or being condescending towards any dissent, and trying to justify their own dislike. (*gestures vaguely towards pineapple on pizza*)
And historically, it's not uncommon for people to... react strongly towards things they find... different or abnormal, which they judge based on themselves, their emotional response to something, and what they're used to.
Looking at kids, this behavior is... fairly normal. "You're weird," "ew, why do you like that, that's gross," "that's stupid," and so on. A lot of kids/teens/young adults also get defensive really easily. And let's face it--adults are basically just older, taller kids who've had to deal with more of life.
(To be honest, I also get defensive really easily. A lot of people do, and it's... it's normal. The defensive reaction can be lashing out, denial, or just being passive-aggressive or staying silent and tuning it out or mentally rolling your eyes at it. But I'm trying to work on it, because just because it's normal doesn't mean it's a good reaction.)
So, what I'm wondering is whether some fans dislike the prequels simply because it's a different genre...
...but instead of realizing that, they try to defend and justify their dislike by pointing fingers and criticizing whatever stood out or looked different from the OT or cherry-picking details/taking things out of context or making negative conflations (that can be refuted).
Because it's not about logic, it's about how they feel. And people want to feel justified and validated, and we want to feel like we're right and we enjoy staying in our comfort zones. So... yeah. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
LOL, okay, this response is going to be really disjointed because I went off in like a dozen different tangents and even then it's not enough to cover everything, so just kind of read this in a Scattered Thoughts Nerd kind of tone, where I'm staring off into the distance because Navel Gazing Gets Me Going Sometimes. 😂 In my experience, it's sort of a mix. I don't hang around a lot of people who dislike the prequels (in the sense of dismissing them/not being fannish about them) because, well, that's the heart of my interest in Star Wars, so our areas of interest basically don't really overlap that much, so I don't have a chance to talk to a lot of people and find out their reasons or even how they dislike the prequels, in the bigger trends of fandom. I do think there's an element of what you're talking about, that sometimes people can't just dislike things because it's not their genre of choice, that's absolutely a part of it. Mostly because that's how a lot of people react to anything they don't like (and it's something I and literally everyone else has to work on), there has to be a reason for it that it's objectively bad and, like, I have experienced a lot of people getting mad because I like something in a different way than they do. And I don't mean just in Star Wars fandom, but in almost any given fandom--if someone likes something in a way someone else doesn't, if they talk loudly about it (even within their own space), then there's always a contingent of people who have to find a reason why that person is objectively wrong (or even try to make them morally wrong), rather than just shrugging and going, "We see things differently, my view on things doesn't overwrite theirs and their view on things doesn't overwrite mine." It gets more complicated in instances where fandom attitudes genuinely can be hurtful, especially when they're overlapping into the way real people are treated, likes/dislikes don't 100% exist in a bubble, especially when it comes to queer fans, fans of color, disabled fans, mentally ill fans, etc. But that there are a lot of instances where fandom culture has always been--and is increasingly so--contentious and it's hard to chill out when someone is always screaming at you, when the atmosphere of the fandom is always so intense. Further, there's also an element of how fandom has always been--and also is increasingly so--about personal resonance, personal emotional investment, interpretation, and meaning. That sometimes we identify with something so deeply that we feel attacked when someone else likes or dislikes something we feel so strongly about, something that we feel is a reflection of ourselves, and I see a lot of that as well. And this, too, often crosses over into lines of how the context of how we treat characters can be reflections of how we treat real world people, but that there's no monolith here as well. For example: I make fun of Anakin, this angers some people, because how dare I not take this fictional victim 100% seriously, despite that I have repeatedly said that Anakin is the character I most identify with, that things I make fun of him for are ones that I resonate with personally. I'm not disrespecting mentally ill people, especially considering that Anakin is not bound to a single interpretation on this front--he is not canonically mentally ill, no matter how easy it is for us in fandom to map much of that onto his character or, in my case, feel that so much of what I see in him are things I struggle with myself. By and large, the majority of the people I see (at least on tumblr) who make fun of Anakin are doing so within the same vein, that they're being silly about him on things that they personally relate to. (My experiences on this are not universal, I cannot speak for the whole of even any one part of fandom, only my own sphere of experience, but this is what I've seen.) As always, it's fine if someone doesn't vibe with my style or they find that it's not their thing because they do take him more seriously, but that preference does not make my jokes
suddenly not have the context that I relate a lot to what I see in Anakin. In contrast, the way some of the fandom treats Mace or Finn isn't just personal all the time. Not liking their characters isn't inherently racist, but the way they're consistently, consistently treated sure as hell speaks to a larger pattern of racism in fandom and doesn't come without that context. It's the same with Rey--is there a huge vein of misogyny when it comes to her character? Abso-fucking-lutely there is. Things Luke and Anakin get a pass on, Rey is raked over the coals for. Is everyone who dislikes Rey a misogynist? Not even close. Some don't like her because Finn was used as a prop for her story. Some people don't like her because she got sucked into Kylo Ren's story too much. Some just don't care for the way she was written for other reasons. Some just don't vibe with her. It's fine. Nothing is a monolith. And to circle this back around to what you're talking about--it's hard to judge, both because no part of fandom is a monolith in their reactions, but also because we're only hearing from a selection of the fans. How do you know how many people who aren't fans of the prequels, who just don't care for them because it's not their genre, but just go about their day? You don't hear from a lot of them because they moved on to things they do like, so it seems like they must not exist--except, they do, and they're just out there doing things they like more. We only hear from the people who feel the need to tell others they dislike the prequels for this reason or that reason, some valid, some less valid, etc. Ultimately, I do think there's probably a fair amount of genre dissonance for why people dislike the prequels and channel that into "they're objectively bad" and get defensive when people like them and say they were great, but only because that's true of anything anywhere. But that it's only one small slice of the bigger picture (and there's a lot of stuff that I had to eschew in the writing of this response as well because it can be a pretty sprawling topic), where there are tons of reasons and reactions that people have, as well as they're perfectly free to dislike the prequels for whatever reason they do or don't have, it doesn't really affect my opinions, unless they're trying to shove it in my face or are being a dick to those who disagree with them.

Magic Interferes in New Orleans
Prompts from Piccadilly's book #3
Words used: ☆matriarch ☆throat ☆impossible ☆vinegar ☆apology ☆slice ☆microwave ☆raspberry ☆choose ☆snore
God! I can't take it. The dread is killing me. I'm losing all the blood in my fingers with how tight I'm squeezing the steering wheel. The honking around me is not helping. I can feel everyone's fear collectively as we sit in agitated traffic. Stress. Fault. Jitteriness. Indifference. Panic, panic, panic.
God, I hate being an empath. I can't even hear my own thoughts. I need to breath! Yeah. Take deep breaths. I'm not far from the U-turn lane. So what if traffic is moving 1 millimeter a minute? The storm can't be faster.
Hooooonk!
Beepbeep!
I have to get out of this situation before I have a sensory overload.
From my front and my rear, I'm surrounded by vehicles. I can't move back, I'll hit someone. I can't move up, because they'll think there's space to move and I'll be more stuck than before. Looking to my right I realize the road across the gate is fairly empty. That last car I saw go that way was 40 something minutes ago.
I gulp loosening my grip from the wheel but still holding it firmly in my palms. Taking a breath I turn the wheel and step on the gas. My car races through the grass and crashes though the metal gates. With a screech, my tires are finally rolling and I'm off. Towards the dark clouds like a fool running blindly into a lions den.
When I finally catch sight of the curling palm trees and the flying debris, my weariness is replaced by anger. We had a plan. A simple schedule. Prepare emergency food, water, and medicine, flashlights and documents, locate nearest shelters, fill up gas tank, clear the yard, and turn off the power. When the evacuation order is set, I would be too far away at the time, so my husband would get the kids from home and we...would...evecuate.
Evacuate.
We would meet at the nearest shelter with our separate cars...
Unfortunately, my...sweet...dearest mother decided to take it upon herself to pick up the kids herself...and NOT evacuate. Instead, she wanted her grand babies to feel safe during the storm and cook them a nice meal...at her house.
I almost had a heart attack when my husband said they weren't there. Instead, a note was attached to the fridge reassuring us that my elementary school kids, including a baby, did not infact disappear off the face of the earth. She wants them to feel less threatened and stressed over this "flood nonsense". Make it seem like a regular thunder storm.
Except it's not a thunder storm! It's a hurricane!
I told my husband not to worry about it, I will get the kids and be ok. The hurricane is suppose to be a bad one, the weather man said. Anything left undemolished by the storm by the end of this would be a miracle. Hopefully it won't be my sanity. I swear, she's impossible.
By the time I get to her house, the streets are flowing with water and clawing up her driveway like waves at a beach. I step out and my shoe kerplunks into the water. I groan, feeling my ears eject hot steam. I stomp onto her porch with a squish, squish, squish and jam the key into the lock.
I kick the door open and slam it shut, my anger seeming to accelerate as soon I step inside. I cringe a bit, noticing my youngest asleep on the couch.
"DON'T SLAM MY DO-" my mother sticks her head out through the kitchen doorway and spots me.
"-Oh, hi baby!"
I stretch a tight smile, coaxing my child back to sleep. "Hello, mother."
"You came just in time. I just need to get a few things done before we eat."
And there she is. Like always. Not worrying about a thing while marinating apple cider vinegar on peices of pork. Probably to slice into the-
Sniff, sniff.
-gumbo. Her calm persona was infuriating. Almost insulting.
"Too bad my son in law couldn't be here. He'd love to stuff his face with the beignets" she continues.
"He's at the shelter. Kinda like we're suppose to be" I say, honey tounged and all "which begs the question..." I lean in, my palms face down on the table. "Why aren't we there right now?" I sneer, bringing my voice down.
"Because there's no need to. You know that" she says simply.
"Maybe in your case, but not mine. You just felt entitled to do things your way. Like you always do. I had everything under control and-and you had me worried."
"You know nothing was going to happen to these kids. I knew nothing was really wrong."
"If you really felt so aloof about this, you should have stayed yourself. You can't just up and take my kids like that. We've talked about this."
She finally looks at me, turning away from her task. "I should be free to see my own grand kids whenever I want to."
"I would have probably excepted that, if we weren't in the middle of a god damn hurricane-"
"Momma! Momma look!"
I was interrupted by my two children excitedly telling me that a pie was on the way. All while showing me their hands, proof of a raspberry massacre. Animated. Passion. Triumph. Pleasant. I ruffle their heads with a quick "good job" and they ran off together. Their happiness almost cures my frustration. It does calm me down a bit though.
"Is is so much to want to keep your family safe" my mother asks.
Aaaaaaand its back.
"Is it so much to just listen to me? To just let me do things my way? I am in no less danger than you are just because I dont have the same... tools that you do."
"It looks like it puts you in a lot of danger if you have to evacuate the city. You could simply come here so momma can protect you."
"That makes me look like a normal person, mom. The streets are already flooding and a ton of people just saw me go the opposite direction. I look stupid and suspicious." I'm taken back to my teen years. Having a similar conversation with my mother. "Not everything can be solved with your protection. I can make my own decisions. But instead you undermine me and tamper with everything around you. Just because I dont have it, doesn't mean I cant keep my family safe or simply be a mother. How about, for once, you let mother nature do her job."
"Your father made this house with his bare hands, rehydrating himself with his sweat. No one is touching this house. Not even Cosmo's or Gaia or whatever." She huffs and turn away. A puff of steam emerges over her head, indicating she opened the pot of Gumbo.
"Well, when your the Matriarch, you can start making the rules around here."
Realizing an apology isn't coming, I groan restricting myself from wrapping my hands around her throat. Its silence between us, as there is after every altercation. Especially when the house is mentioned, cause it's always Papa's house. He passed away before I could even learn to speak his name. Mama always told us about Papa. How she met him, how he put her on her feet and built a house for her (it was told he even built the bricks holding this house up), how his devotion to his family and the love of his life lasted until death did them part.
"What makes you think I'm going to be the next Matriarch?" I ask, slipping in the kitchen chair.
"You will. It's a family tradition that you need to uphold. And you are the only girl conceived by me." She answers, this sounds almost rehearsed.
"Why don't the others take your place?" I ask, for the millionth time.
"It's only rare that a boy has ever been in place of a woman. And once a girl was brought in, he was removed immediately."
"If it's that simple then crown them and get it over with."
"Oh, do you think it's that easy"? She quizzes, slowly turning to me.
"Knowing you, probably not."
"Hyde is much more coordinated than that. If they really didn't think you were worthy, we would have known, but I always knew you were special."
Here she goes again. Hyde,, is supposedly the person that gifts the family with magic, life, and girls. It's the spirirt who thrones and dethrones us. No matter who we are. According to mom, the next Matriarch could be good or bad, Hyde has a plan for them in the end.
Along with Papa's stories, Hyde was always directed towards me because I was the only girl, excluding my half sister. Truthfully there was no way to know if Hyde was actually real. I'm not even sure if my parents have seen it. Mom would tell me tales at night of different women throughout our generation, chosen by Hyde and how I would be like them someday.
Perfect.
"Hyde doesn't give you this gift for no reason" mom reassures "they always have a plan. You can't see everything in a negative light. What if Hyde chooses Clio and you-"
I stop her at the mention of my youngest name.
"I'm not putting that responsibility on my kid" I say sternly, though It probably won't matter what I tell her "Especially if, no offense, she ends up like you. Completely dependent on Hyde's gift. IT didn't give me any when I was born, like the rest of you, and I'd like it to stay that way."
Silence once more.
"Perhaps you're afraid-"
"I'm not afraid-"
"-its okay."
"-Of this imaginary ghost."
"Sure, keep believing that. But when it happens~" she sings.
"When it happens to me, pigs will fly" I sneer, memories of that same sing song tone prodding at me.
She says nothing.
"Just let it go mom, it's just not meant to be. I'm not a child that you can hide under your wings when hail comes. However your gifts came to be, Hyde, the house, whatever, it must've skipped a generation."
She continues to stir. She sputters "but-but the family-"
"-The family doesn't know what's best for me and neither do you. I know I'm the only daughter to the Matriarch. I know I wasn't born with any gifts like my siblings. I know refusing my path makes me an ungrateful child and Hyde will handle me" I say reciting what I also heard throughout my life "But that's not my life. And I'm not defenseless."
She freezes. More silence.
"And, I mean, it's not like having voodoo is easy. It consumes you and it messes a lot of things up. This worlds order and the next."
"That's what the council is for" my mom mutters finally.
"Oh, right. The council. The same family who's just as dependent as you. Do you even remeber a time where you haven't used your gift and actually did things yourself?"
...
...
"Don't you ever think of letting go of this life? Doing things for yourself and not the family? Hyde? Papa's house? I notice how this changes you as you age. If this is the answer to our problems I wouldn't mind the sea taking this house away for a while-"
"Mama! Mama!"
"Wow, look."
I follow my kids voices and they seek for me, a glimmer of wonder and awe in there wide pupils. My 2 boys are pointing to the window in the living room. My sleeping child is now up, standing on her toes to see what her brothers are looking at.
As I begin to walk In the living room, they're rushing back to the kitchen. I take a peek and see a part of the lawn, including my rental car but the road and the neighborhood is gone. A large amount of visible debris is covering up the world around-
No.
No.
That's not debris. That's not wind.
I follow my kids. They've opened the screen door and ventured into the back yard. I race after them and stop in my tracks. The water barrier has followed us to the backyard. My kids are screaming and dancing in the sprinklers as the hurricane is trapping us in its second eye. The oceanic barrier is circling around is, refusing to touch the property. With my kids instructions I look up, the sky is dark above us like it's the dead of night, yet inside the barrier, its murky like a cloudy day.
I can't concentrate. Excitment. Curiosity. Shock. Chills.
I sigh as my daughter wobbles to me and I scoop her in my arms. I can see it now, worst hurricane in 6 years and the Crobitt house still stands. This is similar but not related to the instance when a pair of swings at the run down school across the house seemingly froze in the air a few years ago... CIA is currently investigating...
I gather my children inside, they were starting to go towards the rushing ocean and who knows what'll happen. I shut the door with a defeated sigh and sulk at the table. The beneits sit gracefully with their powder sugar and I worship it by stuffing it in my mouth.
"I told you..."
I look up. My mothers eyes are glowing that familiar bright green and she has that devious smirk on her face. She always gave me that look as a child as if she's trying to tell me something. That, or it's to prove something, which I still dont know. I dont think I ever will.
"...you're father built this house. No one is taking it from me..."
...
...
"Now, elbows off the table."

"Are you sure we should be doing this?" He whispered tentatively behind her.
"We aren't doing anything wrong. We're fine." she whispered back.
"Then why are we whispering?" He questioned.
"I don't know, you're the one who started whispering" she giggled softly.
They quietly made their way through the dark, slowly weaving through the trees following the path, the half moon slightly lighting their way. The soft sound of their feet against the dirt encompassing them.
"We're almost there, I promise" she said reaching back her hand. He grabbed it tightly, she could feel his heart pounding, as her fingers intertwined with his.
The path opened to a beautiful clearing overlooking the city. The stars visible above them. She smiled as she looked at him, his eyes got big as he looked up, his mouth slightly agape.
"Wow" was all he could say. He never thought sneaking out with his girlfriend would be so unique. Most people sneaking out to parties, his girlfriend snuck him out to go stargazing. She pulled the backpack off her back, and pulled out two blankets. She spread one out in the clearing, and put the other over her lap as she sat down. He laid on the blanket next to her, and she smiled as she draped the blanket over him as well and laid down, her head on his chest.
The stars twinkled in the midnight sky, as they cuddled. She was the yin, to his yang.
He was the shy studious type. His bleached hair, and picturesque features made him the talk of the town. His laugh and smile lit up the whole campus when he joked with his friends.
She was the trouble maker. Labeled a rebel with her short bright purple undercut hair, eyebrow piercing, and motorcycle. Everyone judged her by her looks, except him.
----- three months earlier-----
"She just thinks she owns the place" Jen scoffed, stirring her iced coffee with her straw.
"I know, she just storms in every place she goes, her boots clanking on the floor as she stomps everywhere." Jens best friend Rose added, as they both eyed her from across the dining hall.
Yeosang was shocked, everyone at this college seemed to have it out for her. They all gossiped about her, her apparent 'bad behavior', that he'd never seen. Also everyone's rumors of her were different. The only thing he knew for sure was her name was Jae Hwa, or Jae, and she rocked her short purple undercut far better than any other girl could. Sure her resting face was a bit..... harsh, but some people said the same about him. After he heard yet another rumor from the next table over, he decided to go see what she's all about for himself. Yeosang stood up quickly, he had to do this before he changed his mind. He started towards her, ignoring the questions from his friends at the table he just abandoned.
She was leaning her chair back, on two legs, against the brick wall of the dining hall, eating a sandwich, while doing something on her phone. She was preoccupied in her own little world, and why shouldn't she be. This school was full of gossip, which just annoyed her. She was here to study, how else was she going to get into the school she was really aiming for.
Yeosang approached her table when he started questioning everything. What if that prison rumor was true? Or that one about eating a live duck. She didn't look heartless enough to eat a live animal. What was he doing? He didn't know her. She definitely didn't know him. What was he going to say? It's not like he should start a conversation with 'I heard rumors about you, and wanted to know if they were true.'
He stopped a few steps away from her, maybe if he turned back now she wouldn't see him. She looked up at him, cocking her eyebrows, the metal gracing her right brow glinting with the movement. "Can I help you?" She petitioned.
He was a deer in the headlights, he was trapped. Her stare was slightly unnerving.
"I'm Yeosang" he stated, mentally slapping himself. This was not what he intended.
"I know." she replied, leaning her chair forward, letting it hit the ground with a bang. She leaned forward, onto the table. Her bright eyes bore into his. "How can I help you, Yeosang?"
He heard people start to gossip behind him, as she stared him down. He took a few steps and sat at an empty chair at her table.
"I was wondering if I could join you." He seemed unsure of his own words.
A smirk graced her lips.
"Well, looks like you already did" her voice had a playful tune to it, as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"I was wondering what your majoring in?" He asked, trying to seem natural in this awkward situation he had caused.
"Biomedical science" she responded dryly, he was intrigued.
"I didn't know we had that here"
"This university doesn't, but it's close to home, and gives me the prerequisites I need to get into the school I want."
He nodded, a soft smile gracing his statuesque face.
The conversation deepened after that. He explained he was currently doing a computer sciences major, but was thinking of changing to something to do with International relations, or something so he would have the chance to meet people from around the world. They then started to talk about anything and everything, like how she had gotten a motorcycle because it was cheaper on gas. How his best friend was constantly trying new recipes, and making him try them, which most of the time ended in disaster. Their laughter was interrupted by her phone going off.
She looked at it and cursed. "I'm late for that stupid lecture." she grumbled, quickly shoving things into her bag. "This was nice, thanks." She gave a quick wave as she practically ran out of the dining hall. He looked around to see the hall had mostly emptied, and realized he himself was late for class.
"So you have a thing for bad girls now?" Wooyoung asked as Yeosang sat down at their usual table local Cafe, with his coffee.
"What are you talking about?" He asked.
"He's talking about how you ditched us all without saying a word then went and talked to Jae for who knows how long." San smirked, sipping his coffee.
"She's not a bad girl. She's really nice." Yeosang retorted.
"That's not what I heard," Seonghwa raised his eyebrows. Yeosang felt a small flame alight inside him, it was as if some part of him had to protect her.
"That's the problem, everyone talks about her, I want to actually know her." Yeosang started, his voice calm, but his eyes enraged. "Everyone at this stupid university just gossips, and spreads rumors. You guys should know that better than anyone.  Seonghwa, remember when the rumor started that you broke up with some girl over her not eating your kimchi fried rice?" His eyes became pointed at his friend, Wooyoung scoffed, Yeosang turned on his best friend. "Do you remember when we started as freshman, and everyone was claiming you had, not one but three different clones. None of which knew how to drive a car, two of which didn't speak."
"Yeah, rumors are weird" Wooyoung noted as he looked intensely at his coffee. Yeosang took a deep breath in. Where did that come from? He asked himself, as he looked at his friends. San just stared in awe, as did Mingi. Seonghwa just looked everywhere but Yeosang, and Wooyoung continued to stare at his coffee. Maybe it was a slight guilt Yeosang saw in his best friends eyes. No one should take rumors at face value.
Living at home while going to school was great for saving money. While it worked great for Jae, her parents were supportive of just letting her live her life, and pursue her dreams.
It didn't work so well for Yeosang. His parents were strict, he had a curfew even though he was a legal adult. He also had rules to follow, and he did what his parents wanted him to for school, and for work. Aside from his friends which his parents reluctantly approved of, it seemed as if Yeosangs parents controlled every aspect of his life.
"You just don't get it, your parents let you move out, and do what you want at school. I'm stuck here" Yeosang complained as he leaned on the counter at the small restaurant Wooyoung worked at.
"I've told you to inform them it's your life, and to just move in with Seonghwa, and I." Wooyoung chided as he cleaned another table. Yeosang groaned, stirring his water with the straw placed in the cup.
"Eh, Seonghwa I could handle, you not so much"
"Shut up" Wooyoung threw the dry towel on his shoulder at Yeosang.
"I better head to work" Yeosang groaned.
Work was boring for Yeosang, sure it paid well, but working at the call desk, at the fanciest hotel in the city was never in his plans. Most of the calls he just redirected to the correct department. His favorite part of his shift was when it ended, and he got to walk out of the hotel.
Tonight was like most other nights in early spring; a chill in the air, the scent of cherry blossoms starting to bloom wafting over from the park next to the hotel. Yeosang started his walk towards the subway when he saw a small fluffy dog running towards him excitedly, his leash trailing behind him. Yeosang bent down, and held out his hand to the dog, who approached him, and immediately started licking his hand.
"Bong, get back here!" A voice yelled from within the park, he turned and saw Jae running towards them. Her eyes widened as she saw Yeosang.
"Cute dog you have here." Yeosang said, handing her the leash.
"Thank you for catching him. The little stinker ran off when I was tying my shoe. I guess I didn't have the leash under my foot well enough." She explained with a shrug.
"He just wanted to go on an adventure" he commented, as he bent down. Bong nuzzled his head into Yeosangs palms as he pet him. "What kind of dog is he?"
"He's a cavapoo, well at least that's what the shelter said when I adopted him." She bent down as well. Bong was in heaven, enjoying the pets and loves from two people at the same time, his tail whipping back and forth, as he rolled onto his side.
She never expected Yeosangs kindness. Everyone else she encountered avoided her, but he always smiled at her when the rest would stare, and whisper.
They ended up walking the park and talking for over an hour, the park slowly emptying of people as the hour grew later. He found out she worked at the animal shelter, feeding and taking care of the animals in the back. He explained his boring job he had, and ended up venting about his family situation. She was grateful for a friend, and he was grateful for her listening ear.
When his phone started ringing, he saw who was calling and the time his face paled.
"Hello" he answered reluctantly.
"Where are you"
"I got held up after work"
"You should've been home by now"
"I'm sorry, I will be home shortly"
"Your father and I expect more from you" the line went dead. Yeosang sighed heavily.
"Shit" he muttered, then let out an aggravated scream.
"I'm sorry" Jae said, watching him run his fingers through his hair. "I shouldn't have kept you." She stared at her feet, softly kicking at the grass.
"It's not you, I just" his voice fading as he stared off in the distance. "I just wish I had the courage and money to just move out. I just have to figure out how to live my own life." His voice soft yet determined.
Jae found herself softly touching his arm, trying to comfort him. Her timid touch brought him back to reality.
"The subway is going to take forever to get home"
"I live less than a block away, let's take Bong back to my place and I'll give you a ride"
"I can't believe I'm riding bitch on a girls motorcycle" Yeosang muttered as she handed him her extra helmet.
"Well im not letting anyone else drive my baby" Jae laughed putting her own helmet on. She climbed on and started her blue bullet bike. "Climb on, wrap your arms around me and just lean with me around corners." She instructed. The city seemed to fly past, as they made their way towards his house.
"Stop here" he yelled.
"But your house is another block or so," she yelled back.
"My parents are already ready to kill me, I can't imagine what they would do if they saw me get off a motorcycle" he hollered. She shook her head as she stopped, and turned off her bike. He thanked her and handed back the helmet.
"You know, if you ever need someone to talk to, feel free to text me" she stared at the ground, her sudden shyness was intriguing. She usually held more of a hard expression, this one seems vulnerable. He smiled.
"I'd love to, but I need your number first" he teased. He could see her cheeks darken through her helmet, as he handed her his phone. She quickly added her number.
He smiled widely as he made his way towards home. He didn't look forward to what would happen once he arrived home, but he looked forward to texting her later.

|Reseting The World |
Part 6 spoiler to anime watcher , actually, I didn't read the manga yet. So, slightly spoiler? And yes, it's undertale reference.
Part 6 Jotaro with S/O who can overcome Pucci reset and reset the world first.
Warning : Blood, gore, and death. Fluff in the end.
Tumblr media
"Kujo [ Name ] ,look like only you left. "
You let out a chocked sobs when you see your daughter and husband die in front of your eyes. You kneel at Jotaro's side, touching his bloody face. Your body is shaking in anger, you glare at Pucci, tear running down your cheeks.
"Go to hell, Pucci. "
The priest raises his eyebrows before he chuckled, "You wrong, I will go to heaven. "He brings out his Stand.
"Now, rest in peace. "
He slices your throat splutter blood everywhere and socking your dress. Your hands flew to your bleeding throat, blood drip down from the corner of your mouth and eyes fluttered closed.
Pucci smirk thinking he already won, his smirk then fall when he see you crack open your eyes, showing pure anger and hatred in it.
"Bad move, pucci. "You whisper.
Your body let out a yellow aura, and behind you appear a humanoid Stand, it has a skinny body that only wears a long golden robe. Instead of a head, it has an old clock as head.
"|Mercy and Genocide|"
You look Pucci right in the eyes, smirking.
"[Load and save ], Last save life. "
Pucci looks at you in fear when he sees the world around him began to fade away, he looks at his hands and sees it become transparent. "I-impossible!? How?! You not supposed to be a Stand user! " He glares at you.
"I don't. " You remove your hand from your neck showing your healed throat. "At least when I'm still alive." You slowly stand up. "My Stand only can be activated when I near-death experience. "You open your arms showing the world that slowly disappearing.
"Unlike
|Made in Heaven], |Mercy and Genocide |
Allow me to reset the time and start back at last save a life I make. "You smiles at him, "And you know what my last save a life is? " Pucci began to sweat at your question.
"Exactly before I divorce with Jotaro and two weeks before he goes to prison. " You smirked.
"See you in another [ Timeline ], Enrico Pucci."
You take a deep breath, snapping open your eyes. You slowly exhale, you rub your face tiredly. "....I hate using my Stand. " You mumble, looking around your room.
You remember exactly that this is the day Jotaro asks about the divorce paper you give him. " [ Name ], we need to talk. " You hear Jotaro's voice outside your room.
You let out a sigh and open the door to see the panic Jotaro, he show you the paper, "W-what the meaning of this? " He asks voice cracked a bit."A-are you going to leave me? Why? "
You look at the ground, after the Reset, you feel like an idiot when you think back about it. Asking for divorce only because he didn't make time for you or Jolyne. You always look at your story but you never understand Jotaro's story. You remember how broken is he, begging you to stay with him.
"I love you, I love our daughter. So, why? "Despite the stoic face he put, now you can see how afraid is he, the ocean blue eyes glistening with a tear.
You take the paper from him," You never being here for us. You never make time with me and Jolyne, you always busy with your job. Even when Jolyne in court you never be there for her.. "You say, looking him in the eye. You can see the regret in his eyes.
you smile softly at him, "Or so what I thought. "You tear the paper apart, throwing it on the floor.
"I never understand you, but that what makes me fall in love with you. How stupid of me to part away with the man that I swear to love with all my heart. " You cup his face, staring at him lovingly.
"I love you too, Jotaro. I always love you. So, how about we visit Jolyne, together? "
Jotaro grabs your hand that on his cheeks, nuzzling on the palm of your hand, he then places a soft kiss on it, smiling softly.
"I love that. Let's go, this time, we meet her as a parent. "
Jotaro need a freaking love, man. He. Need. A. Rest.

Chapter 95 - SBT
Here it is!
"And you make sure that you let it simmer just a bit more, unless you like the vegetables to have a bit of an extra crunch." Lucien put a lid on the saucepan.
"Ooh, I see…! How does Micky like it?" Caroline adjusted her glasses.
"It depends on his mood, sometimes, when I find him cheerful, I make it crunchy. If he is in a more calm set of mind, then I let it simmer an extra few minutes."
"Ah, I get it… Thank you, Lu'."
"Oh…?" Lucien blushed when Caroline used his nickname. She went to the tip of her toes and pinched his cheek.
"Ooh, blushy are we?"
"You should ask your son." Lucien chuckled.
"Ha, will do." Caroline turned to grab a kettle. "Tea or coffee?"
"Whatever you prefer."
"Tea, then. Mike and Micky will be a couple more hours I think, we can talk freely."
"Ah, I see. Let me help you."
Lucien now knew where the sugar was, the cups, the tray, and he helped himself in Caroline's kitchen to ready it all.
"Aw, you're such a dear, thank you."
"Non, thank you for being so welcoming and supportive. I say this from Mundy and myself, if I may."
The water was boiling and Caroline poured it in the porcelain, hand-painted kettle that she had placed on the tray. She added some biscuits and Lucien took it all to bring it on the coffee table. They both took a seat on the sofa and waited for the tea to brew.
"Well, Lucien… I will be honest with you. I did not want to show you or Micky much of what I was feeling or thinking. Of course the news of you being together uh… shook me. I went back home and kept thinking about it, couldn't really sleep."
"Oh… Do you wish to talk about it?"
Caroline sighed and looked hesitant.
"I don't know if I should… or can actually, I don't want to make you uncomfortable."
"Please, Caroline." Lucien put a hand on her shoulder. "Tell me."
She looked at his eyes and soon understood why her son had chosen that man. There was something in him, in his voice, his gaze; something inviting and kind.
"I just… How does it work?"
"What do you mean?" He asked.
"How did he… fall in love with you? See, I'm really trying to understand but I've never fallen in love with another sheila…?"
"I cannot answer your question on how he fell in love with me, but I can give you my side of the story."
Caroline nodded and took a sip.
"When I realised that I caught… feelings for Mundy, I first denied them. I was sent here on a mission, I shall carry it out and face the consequences of it all." He paused and looked at her. "Do you mind if I smoke?"
"No, go ahead. Mike likes to have his pipe from time to time too."
"Ah, thanks." Lucien lit one of his menthol cigarettes and gently blew the smoke away. "It was a waitress in a diner I used to go to who saw my feelings for him first."
"W-really?"
"Oui." Lucien chuckled and nodded. "I originally used her as an easy and unsuspicious way to get information about the people of this city and the geography. She is now looking up to me as if I had raised her."
"Oh…"
"Her name is Victoria, she is about to get married and… Well, she foolishly trusts me to walk her down the aisle."
"I don't think she is foolish, Lucien. I think you have more empathy than you let on. But carry on…"
Lucien waited for the pink on his cheeks to dissolve to resume his story.
"She saw an old spy fall in love, which was enough to convince me that either I had become useless at my job, or her feminine intuition was particularly sharp."
"Which one was it?"
"A bit of both, I suppose." They exchanged a chuckle. "But they kept on… annoying me, those feelings. I tried to brush them off but something crept up on me everytime I did."
"What was it?"
"The thought that it was my last chance at having something with someone, a semblance of… maybe not love but… comfort, at least. I know this is extremely selfish." Lucien looked away. "I apologise… It sounds like I saw your son only as a means to find my own little slice of happiness. But I can assure you that even though the temptation was strong, I did not yield to it. Mundy showed me so much empathy and compassion, since the first day we met…! It remained carved in my memory."
"What d'you mean?"
"The first day I met him, we were in this hangar and he was looking for his alligators. He… talked to them, as he would other people, tried to bring them comfort while they were locked up in tight crates. I was left wondering if he had lost his mind. But non, I saw him talking to them and sliding his hand on the crates as if it was the poor beast's back. And then I heard the alligator's response. They whined and it sounded like their own version of a cry. It struck me like lightning that day. That man was as gifted for sharpshooting as he was with animals."
"Yeah, that's my Micky alright…"
"To find a man with one gift is exceptional, but with two…?" Lucien shook his head. "Non, I had to know more about that man. So my professional curiosity tickled me, with a side of profound admiration for his skills. He never knew it of course."
"He never knew what? The curiosity you had about him?"
"Non, the admiration." Lucien answered and took another drag of his cigarette. "Caroline, I have been in the war and I have seen snipers. None of them would match him, none in a million years of intense training."
"Mike taught him how to hunt when he wasn't bigger than a rifle." Caroline said. "And he liked it. He didn't like it for the killing, he liked it like a hobby; a hobby that gets you food on the table."
"I understand." Lucien nodded. "And then came the numerous sides of his character that I saw in him, one of which was his determination, or rather his loyalty to both you and Mike, despite the fact that you had passed a long time ago. I thought only I was stupid enough to not have moved on ten years after losing my loved ones, but non. Mundy was in the same state of mind."
Caroline smiled, albeit sadly.
"His honesty, his trust… I fell for his character until one day I… Hm, I don't know how I shall phrase this to you…"
"Go ahead, don't be shy."
Lucien lowered his head.
"I saw him… bathing."
"Oh…" Caroline's eyebrows jumped.
"Non, non, I-I didn't see much, it was the night, he was far away in the lake and I was on the shore…"
"He washed himself in front of you?"
"He didn't exactly know that I was there -"
"You creep!"
"Non! I was there to have a chat with him for what we needed to do, I… I just happened to catch him at a rather… delicate moment."
"Ah…"
"But that night," Lucien took a drag of his cigarette. "I couldn't take my eyes off of his silhouette. There he was, in the calm water of the lake, and his silhouette was drawn by the slim light of the moon, a line of white just tracing his contour. No painting compared to the beauty that I saw that day. To anyone else, it was a homeless man washing himself in the most crude and primitive way. To me, it was a man whose heart was closer to the animals than to the rest of us, taking a bath in the way that we were all intended to."
Lucien raised his eyes to Caroline.
"You have a handsome son. Where others find him old, tired, tanned by the sun, scruffy, maybe even dirty….! I see a strong and compassionate man whose external beauty is nothing compared to what his heart holds." Lucien shook the cigarette in the ashtray.
"You're one to talk, eh? You could get any sheila you want!"
"I could, but I don't want any other women in my life. There will always only be Marie. And I thought it would be the end of the story for me, until I met Mundy. He broke my heart, made it burst, tore it apart, mutilated it in all ways possible until I understood that… I was wrong. I had been terribly wrong. He did not hurt my heart. He made it more… alive! And if I had managed to feel all those emotions, it was only because my heart had in fact healed." Lucien looked at his open palms. "I had healed and my heart was ready to love again."
"Nah," Caroline shook her index finger. "You weren't ready to love, you were already lovin' him."
"You are right." He nodded.
"How did you know that he also liked… y'know, not only sheilas…"
"Ah, well, back in the days when he didn't know that the spy and the singer were one and the same, I told him about my, uhm, somewhat open-minded preferences. He answered that it was the same for him."
"Ah, I see." She nodded. "Still… Uhm… Sorry if that's weird or rude but…"
"Please, go ahead."
"Don't you find it odd?"
"I don't find it as odd as I find it unusual. It is uncommon in this day and age for two men to share their days. But remember that in all days and ages, however strict the upbringing or system of values was, there has always been men who shared their days together."
"It's true… I just… There's something else now if I'm being honest." She nervously pushed a lock of her short hair behind her ear.
"Oui?"
She started fidgeting with her fingers and her eyes darted everywhere but on Lucien's.
"I'm… You've had a son, right?"
"Oui."
"Did you… I mean, I don't mean it to offend you but… Did you raise him?"
"Oui, as much as I could while I was with him."
"Well then you might understand what I'm feeling." Lucien wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "I… I feel like it's… it might be the way we raised him?"
"What do you mean?" He gently asked.
"The fact that he, uh… He likes blokes too… Maybe it's me, maybe I did somethin' wrong…?"
"There is as much wrong in the way that you brought him up as in the way he is now, which is nothing. If anything, you like men too, non?" He smiled.
"Yeah, but…"
"I know what you feel." Lucien said. "When Jérémy passed, I felt that I passed with him. My family name, me, my whole being is forfeit. Why are we here on Earth if not to pass on something…?"
"Yeah…"
"I am sorry we will not give you grandchildren of our own, and I understand the pain that you feel. I… I would have loved having children, especially now that I am not a spy anymore and there is no danger floating above my head."
There was a long pause and Lucien crushed his cigarette butt in the ashtray.
"Do not blame yourself. First, you have nothing to feel guilt, remorse or regret about. You have raised a man to become a model for the entire human race. He is kind, selfless and as brave as a human being can be. I do not say this lightly, I have been in conflicts, I have seen the most bloody war history has yet known for us Europeans. Your son is braver than most men who wear medals."
"Because he likes a man?"
"Non, because of who he is, his personality. He put you and Mike before himself all his life." Lucien explained. "He even… Well, before he told you the truth in person, he went to the cemetery."
Caroline adjusted her glasses.
"He then told you and Mike about it all, all he had been through, everything he had been holding back in his own self for the past four decades or so."
"Oh…"
"And he argued with Mike. It brought him to his knees and to tears."
"He what?" She asked, unsure of what she should understand.
"He could hear him beyond the grave. He could hear his disappointment but still faced it, for the sake of telling you both the truth. You count to him much more than what words could express, Caroline."
"My poor baby…" She put her cup back on the tray.
"It was heartbreaking to see him, a grown and strong man, falling to his knees at the sight of his disappointed father… who was only there in his mind. That, Caroline, is what you can take immense pride in." She raised her eyes to him. "Never have I seen a son so dedicated and faithful to his parents. He has always put your well-being before his own, even beyond the grave."
Caroline took a deep breath to help her process and digest what Lucien had just told her. It took her a moment, during which Lucien remained silent.
“Hold on… He went to our graves and...?”
“Oui, he told you and Mike about his relationship with me and could hear and see both your reactions.”
She frowned.
“Can I ask… Uhm… Did he visit us often?"
Lucien sighed.
"He spent ten years paralysed, Caroline, paralysed and eaten out by regret and guilt."
"Ah… I see…"
Silence fell for a while.
"You are still trying to wrap your head around it?" Lucien asked and she nodded, frowning still. "You should not."
"What? Why?" She asked.
"Because, as we say in French, le coeur a ses raisons que la raison ignore. The heart has reasons that reason itself cannot understand. You are trying to understand love with your brain. This is not how it works."
She looked up to him and sighed.
"If you think about Mike," Lucien started again. "The reasons you love him only make sense to your heart. Oui, you may say that there are objective reasons why you love him, but they are merely pretexts, empty, shell words to try and convince someone else that you like him because in your own intimate heart, you don't love him with your head first. You love him with everything else first and then comes the head. Oui, he is strong, reliable, confident, amongst other things. But countless other people are, and you do not love them like you do him. There is something else with him, something that you head cannot mold into words because your head does not comprehend it. It comes from here." Lucien tapped his chest. "And the language used here is foreign to what this can understand." He pointed at his head.
"I guess I get it…" Caroline's shoulders sank.
"But you are disappointed that your head does not, hm?"
"Yeah… I wish I could."
"You do understand it Caroline. You love Mike the same way that Mundy loves me and vice versa."
"Yeah, I think I get it." She looked up to him and smiled. "More than that, I'm happy that Micky is happy with you. I've never seen him smile so much before."
"He does have a uniquely beautiful smile indeed." Lucien nodded with a loving grin. "Seeing a smile is always a blessing, but from someone who endured a difficult life for so long, it only makes it more precious."
"Look at you, eh, all mushy, blushy and dreamy eyes…!" She chuckled.
"Well, what can I say…? You know what I think of him."
"Yeah, I do… Oh?"
There was a knock at the door.
"Who's that?" Caroline asked as she stood up.
"Who d'you think?"
She opened the door to Mike and Mundy.
"Hey guys…!" Hugs were exchanged and both men entered the house.
"Ooh, we came right on time for tea, Micky, eh?" Mike said.
"Yeah, we brought some cake, Mum, here…"
"Oh, that's perfect. Lucien, dear, can you bring two more cups?"
"Of course."
They all gathered in the living-room. Mike and Caroline took the sofa while Mundy sat on the armchair with Lucien on the armrest.
"We can squeeze on the sofa, Lucien." Mike said. "Micky, c'mere and leave the armchair for your friend."
"Nah, they're fine." Caroline said. "Here, Mike, that's your tea and your slice of cake. Lucien, here, pass this on to Micky, I put both your slices on the same plate, is that alright?"
Mundy blushed.
"Parfait, Caroline, merci."
[Perfect, Caroline, thank you.]
Lucien took the plate and put it on his thigh for both Mundy and him to dig in.
"Mh! That's a really good one!" Caroline commented on the chocolate cake.
"Not as good as yours, Mum." Mundy answered.
"Aw, sweetie… But yeah, not bad at all, and not too sweet either, eh?" She added.
"Does that mean I can get another slice after dinner?" Mike asked.
"Depends…!" She teased.
"On what?"
"If you behave!"
"See, Micky? See what your Mum makes me go through…? See the power of this sheila?"
"Oh c'mon, Dad, she's tryin' to watch out for your health…"
"Well, there's doctors for that, eh?"
"Yeah, Mike, and the doctor said watch out for sugar…!" Caroline said.
"Bah, my sugar's fine…" Mike answered and raised his eyes from the cake to his son. "See, Micky, find yourself a sheila who lets you eat cake and who doesn't listen to the nonsense doctors blabber about."
Mundy choked on his cake, coughing repeatedly. Lucien hit his back to help him.
"Mike!" Caroline said.
"What? What did I do this time?"
She glared at him and the old man quieted down until his son caught his breath.
"Drink some, Mundy…" Lucien gave him his cup and the poor Aussie wiped his tears before he obeyed.
"Oh… Gosh…"
"Are you alright?"
"Yeah, thanks, luv'."
Caroline and Lucien's eyes snapped wide.
"What did you just call him?" Mike asked and Mundy realised what his tongue had let slip out of his mouth without his full consent.
Caroline and Lucien exchanged an apprehensive glance before she saw the Frenchman take the plate of cake and put it on the coffee table. Mundy lowered his head and his breath accelerated.
"Micky…?" Mike insisted.
"You… Ya heard me." Mundy admitted, his head still lowered.

"You believe your father wasted his life, that he died for nothing?"
"Don't come up here in my place of business and scaring me like that, god damn."
" I need to know who this guy is runnin' 'round town buying up all these explosives and weapons."
"God damn, don't nobody know his name."
"Push the goddamn button!"
" I'm gonna kick your ass and then I'll take your ass to jail."
"I'm gonna make you mayor."
"Get rid of this guy, he's gonna get you killed."
"America is a very friendly place."
"Stupid fool, get the hell out of my way!"
"Well, even if I said anything, who would want the bullshit job?"
"What you did was dangerous, and completely against policy, not only that...you did a good job."
"No disrespect, sir, but he's only gonna get in my way. If I'm gonna handle the situation for you, I'm gonna have to work alone."
" You ain't the only one with quick hands now, right?"
" What is this shit about your daughter?"
" I'm gonna pretend you a man. A very beautiful man with a great body that I'd like to take to the movies."
"You know, we could have been a good couple. We could have had something special. But you one crazy-ass bitch!"
"Why didn't you tell me you had a bomb in your mouth?"
"They will torture us for three days."
"They will cut off our eggrolls."
"Behind every big crime there's a rich white man waiting for his cut."
"You invited them to get naked and sacrifice a small goat."
"We both know you wouldn't take a bullet for someone else."
"Just follow my lead. Act like a tourist."
"I can't believe I flew 10,000 miles for this shit!"
"I'm tall, dark and handsome, and you're third world ugly."
"I don't like my chickens alive, I like 'em dead and deep fried."
"I always dreamed of going to Madison Square Gardens, see the Knicks play."
"I could use another vacation."
"Man, I'm up here working, putting my life on the line, and you up here messing around, dancing with some bimbo...does she have a friend?"
"I'll meet you at the bar in ten minutes. They don't like tourists in here, so try to blend in."
"He never begged for his life. Or tried to make a deal."
"If you ain't gonna shoot him, kung fu his ass or something!"
"Who put their hand on my butt? Do it again."
"Look at that rat!"
"I'm not the one running up in massage parlors looking for crime lords."
"I'll be remembered for getting rid of you."
"I want to slice those pretty lips right off her face."
"I'd put that knife away, bitch, before you have an accident."
"Wipe yourself off, you're bleeding."
"Snoopy is like six inches taller than you."
"I love Snoopy."
"It was a cowboy hat, and now it's a pith helmet."
"Nothing touches this body but pure silk."
"There are a lot of men chasing us."
"Some people think it's tacky, but I like it when couples dress alike."
"Let's put a dead animal on you."
"He likes you."
"I'm not shopping with you no more."

Note
I'm curious about 2, 7, 16, and 18 for Lucy!
Thanks for ask, yay! Oh boy, time to get sweaty brain:
2) What are your OC’s food preferences (flavors/textures/spiciness/calories/ when and how they eat) and how did they get that way?
For sure she will spit out anything that feels slimey in texture of food, so a brahmin steak if its not made black like a coal and crunchy will be an example of no no due to her trauma from before the war. Crunchy and salty is what she mostly likes along with sweet sugary flavor like a cotton candy. Her favorite type of food tho to get the energy going for killing would be mostly rad eggs (cus...rad chickens right?). The warm scrambled eggs or an omlette with some extra sliced tatos on top and dried plants as herbs to add some flavor. They are high in proteins and nutrients while at the same time having a low calory count so it keeps her in slim shape aswell *wink wink. She also mostly chooses this because she cannot cook anything else tbh. In pre-war she was always on the run and didn’t have time to sit and cook at home. So she got used with diet filled with things that are fast to cook and easy to prepare while giving you enough energy and what body needs. So cooked eggs with veggies aside from the packed prepared food or sweets found around Nuka World. She will always eat in the morning along with some razorgrain coffee and keep herself filled pretty much till very late afternoon. If on the go or in a camp she will just pull out anything from the box rather than cook anything on fire. If there would be potatoes available she would probably attempt to make french fries or potato puree as it doesn’t involve much stirring around the kitchen when it just fries/boils itself, hard to fuck em up.
7) Realistically, could your OC (in their normal circumstances- i.e. at thier own house/battlecamp/spaceship etc.) keep a small child alive for a week if they had to?  A Dog?  A Houseplant? A rock with a  smiley face painted on?
Not sure how to approach this one but let’s start with a child. Big no, she is just very bad and awkward around kids and the last kid she had to baby sit by someone’s order made her lose her shit and almost abandon it somewhere. She is extremely irresponsible and nervous person when it comes to kids. Depending on their age they are either very loud or ask too many annoying questions with no end. If her life would depend on it she would endure it for one week but that’s playing with fire as she doesn’t posses the “mother perk” like at all. Now animals on the other hand, oh she would love to. Animals just live and rule their life by pure survival and instinct and she just loves them for that. They don’t think about some stupid shit neither make stupid decisions and they always appreciate back the care they are given and opportunity to stay alive. Houseplant - yes, but she might forget to water it or mistake water for vodka. Rock with face would be great for a week as a chit chat friend when you are drunk and Porter leaves you alone.
16) How strong or weak is your OC’s Impulse control? What’s the worst thing that happened because of their Impulsivity or inability to be so?
I hope i get this one right. She has a very weak impulse control in her actions and due to that she thinks the constant calmex use is the answer to that but that again is another impulse as she tends to overdo it and she knows she is addicted since before the war because of Harrison. She was also told heavily she is impulsive on daily basis and it might show in her work. Worst that can happen is her not thinking clearly that sometimes she puts herself in too many dangerous situations in fights, not really caring if she can get heavily injured. Job must be done right and to the end or she will face consequences and that was all she cared about. And if left alone with some mistakes done by her she might again fall into overdosing herself with calmex to shut down some guilt and mix it stupidly with booze which will end up with her on the floor, unconscious and that is very irresponsible when you live in a town filled with raiders.
18) What’s the trashiest item in your OC’s wardrobe, when was the last time they wore it and why do they still have it?
Hmmmm that actually sounds simple but yet tricky to answer, so many things...but i think it would be a teared big fluffy pink bunny mask she found somewhere in Commonwealth costume store before. Smelling of old burned sugar and the white parts of it no longer being white ofc. Fluff also being a bit roughed up but it looked exactly like the one she used before at Sapphire Club to sneak into the guest room wearing just underwear and hide her face while it was a costume strip party of sort to take down her target. She really hated that guy and it was a big pleasure to shove a knife in his throat as she sat on his lap. She really enjoyed that evening tbh. Ok not going into details here. She still keeps it in case she would feel like terrifying Gage a bit (i don’t think such view would turn him on in any way tbh, it would probably look weird as fuck to him at first sight) as their relationship went onward later on or use similar tactic to kill some guy looking for a bit of fun and not suspecting such a surprise. Uhm well, i didn’t have this one planned before so i came up with it now tbh :D
Yay got em all. Thank you again for ask and cheers!

Teenage Romance Angst
There she was again, sitting by herself. She was working on something at the table and Jongin's palms suddenly started sweating. Discreetly, he wiped them on his pants.
He had less than five minutes to talk to her before all her friends swarmed over.
Making a beeline for her table, Jongin nearly body checked a freshman and tripped over a table leg. Good thing she didn't see that.
"Hey," he said breathlessly, slipping into the spot beside her. Her fringe had fallen forward, covering her face and when she swept it back, Jongin got just a little bit more breathless.
She quickly put her work away and said, "Hi, what's up?"
Man, he had something planned but suddenly noticed how good she smelled and realized he'd never sat this close to her before. He inched back before she thought he was a creep. "Have you tried the new pizza from the caf?" Nice, Jongin, nice.
"There's new pizza?"
"Yeah," Jongin fumbled for words. "Apparently, they added some new secret ingredient," he lied straight through his teeth.
"I see..." she narrowed her eyes and her pink, glossy lips curved into a smile. She was catching on. Time to change the subject.
He rubbed the back of his neck and cleared his throat. "So how's school?"
"It's...It's good?"
God, you're making this awkward, Kim Jongin. "That's good." He licked his lips. "So—"
Two trays landed on the table, both filled with food. Jongin looked up and saw Luhan, the most popular boy in their grade, taking a seat on Boyoung's other side.
"Hey," she said with a wave. Damn, she was the one initiating the conversation there. And with a familiar hey, no less.
"Hey," Luhan barely glanced at Jongin as he nudged the tray. "I got you the pizza today." Jongin scowled. Damn, when did Luhan start getting lunch for Boyoung?
She gave a bubbly laugh as she stared down at the slice of pizza, which looked like every other slice since the beginning of the year. "Did they change up the pizza?"
"No," Luhan replied with a mouthful of food. "Why would they do that?"
She shrugged and a strand of straight, black hair that was caught on her shoulder slid down her arm. "I just heard from—"
It was time for him to go. Jongin pretended to check his watch. "I think I hear my friends calling." Smooth. "See you guys later." He left the cafeteria.
Once he was back at his locker, he leaned against the cool metal door to calm himself. He would have to ask her to the Winter Solstice Festival another day.
-
"Hey, that's your girl, right?" Jongin felt a sharp nudge at his side as he looked up.
Oh great, not now.
"She's not my girl," he hissed back at Sehun.
The boy put a bunch of stickers in his hand. "Well, give her these stickers and see if she'll become your girl."
He almost stuffed it back at Sehun, but Boyoung was too close and he froze. She had come from the direction of the gym and her cheeks were flushed, her hair tied back into a high ponytail.
She gave him a small smile as she passed.
Jongin didn't know what to say. His mind wasn't working straight so he looked down at her sneakers instead of making a fool of himself. Without thinking, his mouth started moving. "Nice shoes."
He looked back up for her reaction, certain that she would think he was a creep. Her skeptical expression told him he was right. "Thanks," she said and continued walking.
Sehun stopped her and did what Jongin was supposed to do. Give her a flyer and tell her about the animal shelter fundraising campaign they were advertising for.
And he gave her a goddamn sticker.
Sehun's eyes slid over her shoulder to throw Jongin a smug look as he helped put a sticker on her gym uniform. She walked away, waving happily and trying to read her sticker upside-down.
For the rest of the day, Sehun wouldn't stop teasing Jongin about missing the opportunity to pat the sticker onto Boyoung's chest. Jongin nearly punched him out just to shut him up.
Goddamn those stickers.
~3 months later~
"Your father and I worked so hard for you, and you decide to do live your life like this?"
It still hurt because it was true.
Bo pulled her knees up to her chest and swallowed the lump in her throat that wouldn't go down. Really, there was no use in crying over this. It was an old issue and crying wasn't going to help it.
Nothing was, unless she could grow the fuck up like everybody told her to.
But if growing up meant sitting at a desk all day, reading textbooks, and writing papers, then she didn't know if she could do it. At her own desk were a million scattered papers, true, but none of them were for academics. She had venues to call for her grade's graduation dance, she had her friends' essays to edit, and she had a monthly events calendar to write up for the student council.
None of which would help her slipping marks. At this rate, she wasn't going to pass her university entrance exams, let alone get into one of the country's top universities like her parents had expected since she was a toddler.
Her phone buzzed by her feet and the tears almost started pouring out when she saw the name on the screen. NiNi
"That boy is toxic. Ever since you've started dating him, you have been doing worse and worse at school. I've told you a thousand times and I'll tell you again: you need to end this relationship. It's useless."
She picked up the phone. Amazing that her voice didn't crack when she answered.
The reply was a noise between a groan and a whine. "Bo-yah-yah-yah-youngie, please tell me you got B as the answer for question 16. I'm going to die if it's not."
"I don't know," she whispered, too scared to talk any louder than that. Not even Jongin's butchering of her name could lift her mood.
There was silence on the other end and she knew he detected something weird. "Did I just wake you?" he asked quietly.
"No."
"Did something happen?" he asked with caution. He was the only person outside of her family that knew her relationship with her parents, and he knew they didn't like him, too.
She swallowed, hard. "Nothing happened. I'll talk to you tomorrow." Her sentence ended with a crack in her voice.
"Wait." He sounded breathless all of a sudden. "You're at home, right? I'll come over."
Just because he knew her parents didn't like him didn't mean he cared. He tried his best to do everything right, but none of their dislike was his fault anyway. She shook her head. "No, do your homework."
"Boyoung, I'm—"
"Kim Jongin, I don't want to see you." She hung up and slammed her phone face down on the bed.
Burying her face into her knees, she cried until her knees felt the wetness through the thick cotton of her pajama bottoms...which were actually a pair of Jongin's sweat pants. She shook with sobs because she loved him so much, but why was the world so against their relationship?
She was starting to see her mother's reasoning. If she continued down this trail, if she didn't end this relationship with Jongin, was she going to make a fool of herself? She had begun to study more since meeting Jongin's mother, but it didn't raise her dismal grades that had been low from the beginning.
Maybe she was born stupid.
When she lifted her head, she realized she was. Her hand went to the phone again. Jongin had stopped trying to call her for a whole five minutes now, and she was worried he was actually going to drive over. He wouldn't give up, he never did.
She dialed his number.
"Bo—"
"Don't come over."
He sighed. More shuffling. "Fine, I'll stay in my room. But don't hang up on me this time."
"Do your homework," she said, sniffling.
"And bore you with these equations? I don't want to turn into the next Mr. Chang."
Her lips cracked into a small smile because she knew he was trying to cheer her up. "Mr. Chang isn't so bad."
He scoffed. "Not if you like the type that spends the class talking about his son and then sends us home with three hours of work that he didn't cover in class. But wait, let me guess. You've got all the answers already, haven't you?"
"No," she lied. She had done them during lunch today when Jongin was busy with something else. If she hadn't been dating Jongin, she might've hung out with her friends. But his mom wanted to meet her and Bo was determined to give off the right impression...like doing her homework.
Jongin gave an exaggerated sigh. "Ah, well, I guess I'll have to hand my homework in without checking it over with you. By the way, the answer for question 16 is B, right?"
The answer was D, but they both knew she wasn't going to simply give the answer to him. "Jongin."
"Fine, I'll go do my work. But keep me on the line, okay?"
She wiped her nose with the back of her hand. "I want to go to sleep."
"Then lay down." His voice had gone softer, losing its humour, and she put her head down on her pillow. "Your makeup's off? Your retainers on?"
She almost laughed. "Yes, Jongin."
"Good."
She listened to him breathe and every once in a while, he moved around in his room or cleared his throat. She imagined him without his shirt on, padding around barefooted in his untidy room with his mangas lying around everywhere.
"Bo?"
She choked on her tears and began to cough, surprised that she was crying.
They couldn't stop. She cried harder and Jongin continued to whisper her name through the phone, or maybe he was just saying comforting words. Either way, she curled in on herself and held the phone close to her ear, closing her eyes so that the only thing in her head was Jongin's voice.
She didn't think about meeting her parents' expectations. She didn't think about meeting Jongin's parents' expectations. She didn't think about universities or career paths or the next due date on her calendar. She just listened to his voice and her shuddered breaths.
"Jongin..." she whimpered. She didn't know what she wanted to say. I'm not going to get into a good school. I'm a disappointment. Your mom's going to hate me.
"I'm here, Bo," he whispered. "I'll always be here when you need me."
Soon, she fell asleep to his words murmured over and over again.
---
I wrote this back in first or second year uni for nanowrimo, got 20k words in, and then couldn’t do it anymore because there were so many plot holes and I was tired of the story LOL It was supposed to be a Jongin sequel to “Trying to Conceive with Mr Wu Yifan” and it was gonna be titled ~Catching a Flirt Named Kim Jongin~ LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO i thought I was so clever. Anyway, this was just the prologue/flashback portion of the story. I found it while going through my old drafts and decided to put it up cuz I wasn’t gonna do anything else with it LOL hope you guys liked that little drabble! Have a great weekend :) :) :)

OC Interview!
So, got tagged by @robobrainmurdermysterytheatre to do my OC from Fallout 4.
I'm supposed to tag five other people, but sadly I don't know anyone else to tag who hasn't already been tagged by others, soooo here goes.
Tumblr media
1. What is your name?
"The Names Celestine O'Kelly-Hancock, but everyone just calls me Celeste for short. Nice to meet you, dude."
2. Do you know why are you named that?
"Which part are you asking about?"
3. Are you single or taken?
"Very much taken. Remarried, actually. My hubby is the Mayor of Goodneighbor. Maybe you've heard of him?"
4. Have any abilities or powers?
"I've a natural affinity for swimming, and growing some of the best damn rad-weed this side of....uh....what were we talking about again? Oh yeah! I can out-snipe anyone."
*somewhere off in the distance you can hear Robert screaming out "I CALL SHENANIGANS!"*
5. Stop being a Mary Sue.
"Huh? Dude, are you smoking the same shit I am? Who's Mary Sue? Pretty sure you mean Mary Jane."
6. What’s your eye color?
"My eye color? John tells me they're 'Nuka Quantum blue', but I'm pretty sure he's stoned when he says that. I think they're deep, almost grey-blue, to be honest."
7. How about your hair color?
"Currently it's purple, because SOMEBODY likes to play pranks and fuck with my soap. Deacon, I'm looking at you!"
*A maniacal cackle can be heard around the corner*
8. Have any family members?
"Well, sure I do. There's my hubby John, there's Robert who is like my little brother. I've got my fur-baby, Dogmeat, and my adopted dad, Wiseman..."
9. Oh? How about pets?
"Dogmeat, he's a dog, obviously. Then I adopted a ginger tabby I named Deacon."
*Deacon pokes his head into the picture*
"Awwww!"
"Because he, too, is an asshole."
*Human Deacon blows raspberries before slinking off*
10. That’s cool, I guess. Now tell me something you don’t like?
"Something I don't like? I can't stand bigotry of any kind; you picking on a ghoul in front of me is a great way to get shot. By me. Because fuck you, that's why. I also don't like it when someone tries to fuck with my crops. Wait until it's done growing. Fucking weed-nappers."
11. Do you have any activities/hobbies that you like to do?
“I smoke pot, I crochet stuff, and hunt raiders. Oh, and I like to bake."
*Hancock wolf whistles off from the side*
"You mean get baked!"
"Oh, ha ha babe!"
12. Have you ever hurt anyone in any way before?
"Damn, that's uh...that's kinda heavy. Yeah...um...not something I really want to talk about."
13. Ever… killed anyone before?
"Dude, this is the Commonwealth we're talking about. Everyone out this way has killed at least once in their life. I might have a higher kill count than most, I mean, I do actively hunt raiders and shit...so....yes."
14. What kind of animal are you?
“A house cat. Yeah, happy, lazy fucker that naps in the sun, sleeps a lot..."
15. Name your worst habits?
"My worst habits? I sometimes sleep too much, and I may, or may not, steal the covers."
*Hancock sticks his head in the room*
"She totally steals the blankets."
"BABE!"
16. Do you look up to anyone at all?
"My adopted Dad, Wiseman. No matter what hell comes his way, he faces it with a calm and compassionate heart leading the rest of my ghoul family through it all with grace. And John. He saved my life both literally, and figuratively. And my mom...I miss her."
17. Are you gay, straight or bisexual?
"Does...does it really matter?"
18. Do you go to school?
"The school of Hard Knocks count?"
19. Ever want to marry and have kids one day?
"Well, I remarried, so yes to that part. As far as kids go, John and I have thought about adopting, but I'm....not quite ready yet..."
20. Do you have any fangirls/fanboys?
"I don't have any strains by those names. Got some OG Kush growing right now...Just hit a blunt made from it, actually. Smoooth po-ta-to."
21. What are you most afraid of?
"Fucking rad roaches, man! I'll take a deathclaw on any day, but put me in a room full of giant bugs and I will nope the biggest nope that ever noped."
22. What do you usually wear?
*Hancock butts in*
"She usually wears my face on her lady bits! Yeah booooy!"
"OMG BABE! NO BAD!"
23. What’s one food that tempts you?
“When I get the munchies, I crave Dandy Boy apples, and gum drops. I can't get enough of them."
24. Am I annoying to you?
"Even if you were, I'm waaaay too baked to care right now."
25. Well, it’s still not over!
"Huh? What's not over? Did I just miss a whole conversation?"
26. What class are you (low/middle/high)?
"If I'm stoned, I'm HIGH class!"
*Giggling intensifies*
27. How many friends do you have?
"Tons. You looking to add to my list?"
28. What are your thoughts on pie?
"I could totally go for a slice right about now. Why? You offering?"
29. Favorite drink?
“Vim classic. Good shit."
30. What’s your favorite place?
"I've got two places I love: The Slog, and Goodneighbor. They're the only places I feel truly at home in."
31. Are you interested in anyone?
*Hancock butts in again*
"She's married to me. I don't share."
"You heard the Mayor: He doesn't share. Hey! I made a rhyme!"
32. That was a stupid question…
"Waaaaait.....did I think that out loud?"
33. Would you rather swim in a lake or the ocean?
“Both. I fear no body of water, and nothing ever bothers me when I swim, at least. Might have to do with all the Vim I drink..."
34. What’s your type?
“My type? Gotta be intelligent; if you can't carry on an intelligent conversation, you can quit right now. I like a partner whose heart is in everything they do, and who isn't judgmental, as well."
35. Any fetishes?
"I uh....um...*cough* I like role playing..."
36. Camping or outdoors?
"I adore outdoors. Being out in my garden is like a balm to my soul. Camping is meh, but sometimes when I'm on a job, it's a necessary evil."
