So it was established in the last episode that Taylor still believes in Santa (tbh I wouldn't be surprised if it's come up prior to this ep too but anyways-) so... Do you think (saint) Nicky been has portalling in every year since the betrayal to sneak in a gift for his son amongst the pile? That Cassandra doesn't even notice because it's just one among the many many presents she herself has bought and wrapped? But every year without fail... Taylor gets one gift that simply says "from: Nick" and well, obviously that has to mean it's from Santa (a conclusion which Nicky expects him to come to, and why he can sign his name at all, though he misses when he could just write "dad"). And one year when he's still quite young, a sleepy little Taylor actually catches Nicky in the act, and Nicky wishes more than anything that he could just *stay*, but instead he only softly tells Taylor to go back to bed, and Taylor thinks that Santa is a lot younger and a bit sadder than he expected, but what's he gonna do- not listen to Santa Claus? So he smiles meekly at the man he does not know to be his father, and hurriedly heads back to his room.
Also yes of course Nicky eats the fucking cookies left out of course he's not gonna pass up on free cookies (which are home-baked to top it off) come on that's a given.

one time in melliwyk's campaign we were staying in a luxury inn in a dwarven stronghold partially populated by warforged and built inside a volcano and each room had its own private bath with running water on tap and when I/ melliwyk was like 'hot water? 👀' the DM gave me a scathingly incredulous 'no??' like that was the world's dumbest question

kept on thinking about some of the more emotional beats of the kurokara lore while i was trying to fall asleep last night and i just... i need to explode...
#i was mostly thinking about the whole other side to osomatsu-san in hell where kuroba's trying to navigate their grief#there's a moment where kuroba's getting their usual weekly shipment of flowers and they realize they forgot ->#to change the quantity of red roses they always order ( they started ordering extra after kara became a regular )#for the most part they've been able to navigate things seemingly well. sure they've been more melancholic but they SEEM alright#and they try to handle this moment well too. makes a joke about how they're gonna have to have a sale on rose arrangements for a bit#but then they just. kinda break down crying. he's still everywhere despite not being there and it's so crushing.#kuro finally understands how their granddad must've felt when their grandma passed away....#there's a more lighthearted follow up to that moment tho#basically the delivery driver makes sure the quantity of roses is correct ( it's the same was before )#but kuro cheerfully tells them that the person they order them for is a regular again so it's alright#after that the delivery driver tells them that they're glad they made up with their boyfriend#when kuro's like excuse me??? they say '' you get the roses for the guy in the leather jacket right? i see him come in sometimes ->#after i finish deliveries but i hadn't seen around recently. glad things worked out for you yotsubana. :) ''#and then they leave before kuroba can clarify things. rip.#i'm going out for a bit but once i get back i NEED to finish the art for the first kurokara lore post i was working on#ship : kurokara#mj rambles

Saw a poll asking which fast food I'd give up for a week for a million dollars, and it's like I'd give up fucking food for a week for that price, there's literally nothing that wouldn't be on the chopping block when it's giving it up for a week
Not to mention I already barely have fast food once a month, and that's only if you count the costco pizza or burgers from the general store (which are more like backyard bbq style... like... the not great but not bad kind from a grill, you know?)
So... money please, I already won, pay me
#like I'm not even kidding about if I got it signed in a contract that I'd get paid; that I'd give up eating for a week for that much#pretty sure while it wouldn't be good for me I'd make it; and... that would only be like 7 less meals that week for an average week#I wouldn't be happy; I don't like being hungry (which is pretty much my forever state; I'm hungry as hell right now)#I know enough to know it would probably take a toll on me given the way I'll prowl the house over and over looking in vain for food#like it would be bad#but there's not a lot I wouldn't do for that kinda money; I'm not gonna pretend that a million isn't a price I can be bought at#basically no hurting anyone; nothing that would do permanent damage... really really gross stuff would cost more#but I don't pretend to have too much pride for this#if you're a sick freak with too much money hit me up and we can probably make a deal#anyway my real point in this post was just the fact that like... give up fast food for a week?#for that price I'd give it up for life; I lose at most costco pizza and perhaps food from the general store; though it isn't fast food#I don't like fast food much; it's already too pricey; you're paying me to do what I already want to do#and with that money I could hire someone to come to my house and teach me to cook#I could pay someone in town to get my groceries... it's a not brainer#hell; for like... mhh... ten million I'd never eat at a restaurant again; though there I'd like to negotiate exceptions to try stuff#like... make the deal that I can't go places regularly; and I can't loop hole this to just always be traveling#but that like if I travel to Japan or something I can try the restaurants there#...twenty five million and I never eat at any restaurant anywhere ever (I'd pay people to have me over for dinner)#one hundred million I never eat anyone's cooking again (I'd go to Japan for instance and pay someone to teach me to cook)#(have them eat with me to make sure I made it right; so I could experience it but no one else made it)#these are my prices#but for real; I never ever ever even go to restaurants; there's exactly one kinda high end pizza place I'd miss with that deal#and again... OUGH. SQUARES. ALL DONE NOW.
these are gonna be sent to someone else in my family, who is gonna take them along with squares from like 9 other people in my family, and make them all into blankets using squares that my grandma had laying around as well. so we'll all get blankets made with everyone's squares, including our grandma!
the colors--neon orange and navy blue--are what I consider to be kind of my "signature colors" because my grandma always knew orange was my favorite, so everything she sent me for christmas was this bright shade of orange with either the navy blue as an accent color or a veregated rainbow lmao. which is why i chose to make my squares that color combo!
anyway, yeah, that's the context behind these squares :')
