I... I'm still not totally sure about this piece. XD Especially the flowers blooming behind Ammy, super not thrilled with how those turned out, but I really like how Ammy herself turned out, and it was something fun and new I wanted to try... so yeah, not totally sure about it, but sharing anyway. XD

If you haven't already guessed, this is fanart for the fantastic game Okami, featuring the main girl herself, the sun goddess Amaterasu. I've drawn some Okami fanart before, though it's pretty old now. I recently started replaying the game again for the first time in a few years, and man I forgot just how good this game is, it's so so good you guys, and the art style is so pretty and unique, and with the new sequel coming out soon and feeling so excited to see how far they can push the art style with the new technology, I just felt really inspired to try my hand at some art to try and lean into that brush style.

I used a paint tool on my app that I never use, and I used it for the whole thing. I think it worked really well for getting across that painted feel, especially for the lineart on Ammy. It worked fairly well for the clouds and grass as well, I might have to try it for more backgrounds in the future. Like I said above, I'm particularly happy with how Ammy herself came out. This is Ammy in her final form, with her full set of red markings and the extra tuft on her hips, and wearing Solar Flare on her back. She's running across the fields of Nippon, weirdly-drawn flowers blooming in her wake, her sun shining overhead.

Sorry for the late post (and first art post of 2025!) I've been super busy lately getting things sorted for this year (lots of emails and zoom calls (THE LADY EVEN CALLED ME OUT BRO)) ANYWAY 😃

Because of what I'm doing (I wanna say it when I have my uniform but it's STUCK in Queensland which is two states away from me, so I have to wait lol) I have to give up Monday nights, some weekends and most school holidays which means posts will most likely be slower than usual, but they will still come! In the meantime to help me out you can suggest ideas for me that I can check up on in my free time 💕

Anyway, can't wait to see how everything turns out this year and thank you for the continued support towards my bug boi 🪳

I had the idea to draw an older version of Melody, once she's gotten through a few more adventures, gained a little confidence, and maybe saved up a little to buy a new paladin outfit.

But then I realized. It couldn't just be one older Melody. There are three options to choose from.

a little personal project i'm slowly chipping away at, thought it would be fun to make it into a chart that i add a doodle to every time i finish a new character so i can track how i'm going with it!

I cooked again!

Baked tilapia fillets, nuked a bag of steamer veggies, and then the plan was to sauté the veggies a little in butter and salt for a tad bit more flavor, but the tilapia broke apart when I was taking it off the baking sheets, so I just said "heck with it" and tossed them in the pan with the veggies. Seasonings are sea salt, garlic powder, black pepper, and cayenne :D

Day 4 - Draw a part of the human anatomy you have trouble with. x20, with at least 5 being skeletal/musculature studies. I drew hands and some feet for this prompt! There are so many things I could think of to improve upon regarding human anatomy that it was really hard to pick, but I ended up choosing hands and feet because I feel like I could use some practice with them.
