also just as much of a surprise for me as it probably is for you, new mates! I was caught off guard by this but apparently they both have decently high romance bars with each other + are compatible so. I guess they were flirting when I wasn't looking lol.

overall I'm really happy with how they all turned out (even though I'm definitely gonna need a break from staring at cartoon cat faces now). I tried to give a few of them a slight redesign too, just to make them stand out from one another a tiny bit more.

New year, new background color!

Aside from that, there's definitely some interesting stuff to go over here! First thing: Mothshade's name.

He and his sister (Eagleshade) are not only nearly identical in appearance, their preset warrior/medcat name suffixes were identical in the game's code! I found this out when they were first adopted and I thought it was super cool so I decided to keep it. It's a cute and awesome way to show their connection to each other.

Second thing: New babies!

I was just starting to get a bit annoyed at how many full grown cats were joining when they showed up, lol. I was a bit surprised at Shellvalley deciding to adopt them, but it was very fun to draw them together. In addition here is their biological mother, Pinewater, below.

like i said up top, this is the last moon of ThornClan's second year! I was not really paying attention to how much time had passed so oops, my bad.

all in all this was a pretty good moon. I find weedstem being jealous weirdly funny for some reason, especially bcs flare is just like ???

the next couple of posts will be moon 25, with the updated allegiances and a new pinned post coming soon after. the weird order is gonna make sense soon promise 🙏

other than that this was a really nice moon! I'm especially happy about Flare since she's ThornClan's first tortie! :D Her design is super interesting in general, I really like that she has one single ginger toe on her foot lol

Not pictured: mothpaw got whitecough, weedstem got yellowcough AND her tail got injured by a dog. girl can't catch a break T_T

But yippee Eagleshade's a warrior now! I like that she got to go on her (technically) first patrol with her dad, that's very sweet. The ceremony message mentioned Gorsetail was proud of her progress as well, so really besides the injuries/sickness this was a great moon all around.

shellvalley survived! I felt horrible that I misclicked and caused her to get hurt in the first place, so I'm happy she's pulled through :)

We also got some cute interactions this moon. I love the bond that quiverwhisker and smokepelt are developing together, it feels like a grandma and grandson type of thing. very sweet

Wonder who this silly young lad is?

Sorry for such a short update this time, not everything could be squished into the 3 panel format. Not pictured: immediately after seeing this interaction I looked at the relationship tab to find that Wolfstar was "checking on Mothpaw". I personally imagine this as a "are ya winning son" scenario because he's absolutely the goofy/fun dad in the wolf/raven relationship.

yay another moon finished! decided to switch over to a more simple pixel-y art style because I really did not like the smooth brush lines. hope it isn't too jarring for you guys.

in terms of moon 17 itself:

I've never gotten that gathering event thing before so that was a surprise. Raven's actions were incredibly in character though. Bonus: a sneak peek at SnakeClan's leader! Hopestar is a very tired old lady that's just doing her best....

Cute family scene for Raven and Eaglepaw.... he's spent most of her and her brother's kithoods being kind of a jerk so this was a sweet moment for him.

I hope Shellvalley pulls through as well. I misclicked when I sent her on patrol so this one's on me :')

Yay the twins are apprentices finally! I was slightly surprised but happy that Mothpaw chose to be a medcat on his own, though tbh if he hadn't I probably would've done it myself lol
