something about how Vi has experienced so much pain and trauma for years while keeping a good heart as best as she is able vs Caitlyn growing up with immense privilege and ignoring her moral compass now that she's hurt and lost. something about Vi begging for one good, consistent thing in her chaotic life to hang onto while Cait is being rocked by inconsistency for the first time. something about Vi being seen as the tougher one up to this point but her being so much more vulnerable than Caitlyn in this first arc of season two. I don't even know what my point is here except that I will be crying until next Saturday and probably after that too

i'm pretty sure the moment i truly fell in love with lassiter as a character was when he casually and effortlessly talked himself into the potentiality of shooting a cat. during a conversation with his boss. after she'd called him into her office specifically because he discharges his firearm too often. "i would probably just fire a warning shot to make my point. it's really a field decision, i can't commit to it at this juncture" babygirl disrespectfully and lovingly what the actual fuck is wrong with you.

Watching this again, it becomes incredibly clear in s3 that Nate is teaching Parker how to run her own crew. He fully anticipates that she will be his legacy, and more than anyone else---more than Sophie or Hardison, more than Eliot (though I would argue that Eliot never even slightly wanted it)---he is teaching her how to take over, think like he thinks and plan like he plans. He fumbles some of the emotional stuff, never actually tells her explicitly...but by the time you reach s3 he's clearly all-in. He's decided. Parker is going to be Nate 2.0, with different more exciting bugs than the 1.0 version.
