DP x DC Prompt: The Watchlist

Batman has a watchlist. A list that contains every individual who could become a rouge and a contingency plan for if they did.

And while they, his children, often make fun of his paranoia and him for having it, they totally understand why he did. They lived in Gotham, for Christ's sake. Where everyone’s just a pin drop away from being the city’s next big villain, forcing the bats to scratch their heads while playing cat and mouse with a sicko for a good few weeks. And while they won’t admit it, the list has helped them a few times.

But that won’t stop them from making fun of any of the list’s new developments. Because you see, there was a new list. And it wasn’t just a watchlist. No, no, no. It was The Watchlist.

It was a new development after he and Robin went on an out-of-state mission to investigate some town in bum fuck nowhere Illinois. And it was under some pretty tight security as well, so they were expecting something good, like mad scientists or evil mayors. Not profiles of the kids who lived in the town. And while there were a few metas and vigilantes that made the list interesting, by the end of it all they just seemed to be teenagers.

Until they saw Damian. They hadn’t seen him since he came back from the mission with B. He looked tired. Like ‘Tim hasn’t slept in a week and is surviving on just coffee beans’ tired.

“Ah, I see you all have found it. Good. A few of them will be arriving next week as they’re a part of Gotham Academy’s student exchange program. At least three of them will be staying in the manor with us. Father will need you all to be on standby and to be ready for any possible scenario. Please, for the love of all that is good, do not encourage them in any way, shape, or form. And please do not dismiss them either. The outcome of doing that will be much worse. Is there more that I should add? Yes. Will I? No, because you won’t understand. Not until you've seen what I have.”

The demon child sighed, then looked them dead in the eyes. “Godspeed to us all.” Then walked away.

Okay, they were scared now.

WHICH time lord are you.#bc lbr if she knows abt tardises then she knows about time lords and if she knows abt time lords she knows what it means for ruby #to be joining him - and that's why she wishes ruby good luck. meanwhile this is clearly the outcome she WANTS (them to be together)#bc she gets visibly upset when the doctor seems to decide to leave without ruby.#and for once i'm not master clowning bc the list of names the doctor gives out is VERY interesting. some of them we've never heard before:#the bishop; the conquistador; later he adds the pedant and sagi-shi and reiterates the bishop AGAIN. so i wonder if she's the bishop.....

Was just thinking about the amount of animals Obi-Wan interacts with compared to literally everyone else and in the Clone Wars episode where Kamino gets attacked he literally gets saved twice by the same ray-like animal and just...

The growth from judging Qui-Gon for the 'pathetic lifeforms' he picks up to whatever he has going on during the Clone Wars era. He must have gotten that from Qui-Gon though, right?

And because it's my brain and it's rotting with all the star wars stuff I am consuming I was thinking of Obi-Wan saving all these creatures and the 212th having to deal with that. Surely they made one of the rooms pet proof in case one of them needs a new home. There also have to be clones who love that because of course Obi-Wan can't really take care of rescues on top of all his duties.

After the first few times this happens Cody learns to order animal food and other necessities. And if the Republic doesn't fulfill these requests or asks too many questions he'll just have to make sure to organize them on planet during the campaigns.

#maybe they even keep a tooka or two #for the morale #but seriously #i have been thinking about writing a soft crackfic about this #just the 212th travelling with a whole zoo #already made up my own clones and all #cody is very done but it makes his general happy so who is he to complain?#when the 501st learn about it they start bothering Rex about it #or they ask Anakin ans Ahsoka to do thr same type of Jedi magics #they want pets too can you blame them?#obi wan is pretty oblivious to all of this #he just wants to help!!#and the tenth tooka was looking just *so* sad what was he supposed to do? leave it all alone and sad and scared?#it's just chaos all around #but also so soft #clones don't get a lot of chances to pet any animals during their training and war doesn't really offer these opportunities either #so whenever other battalions work with the 212th and learn about their zoo they get excited #accidental therapy animals for the clones #and the jedi because what better way to find the energy to keep fighting and bonding with an innocent lifeform that gets affected by the war #adoptions go wild #the wolfpack asks Plo for wolves #Plo struggles to say no #star wars #tcw #obi wan kenobi #212th attack battalion #commander cody #accidental animal acquisition #I just remembered vaguely that in one of the Jedi Apprentice books Obi Wan has a bird on his shoulder??#maybe he didn't get this from Qui Gon after all though I'm sure Qui Gon encouraged and reinforced that behaviour

I can't stop thinking about Lila saying "There is nowhere you go, that I cannot follow" in TFTOP because it was her subtle declaration of love and devotion to Kell. The way the words sounded like a promise and a threat, which is so her. She didn't want to lose him. If he didn't make it, she would make sure to bring him back from wherever he went, even from another world. She whispered the words because they were for his ears only. They were a piece of her soul she was willing to share with him, just like the thread of her magic which ended up saving his life. She told him because she thought he was unconscious, so him revealing that he remembered everything made me go insane and I want to know whether he'll tell her

sometimes I forget that my experience has been. um. not 'your experiences are not universal' vibes but more like 'your experiences are EXTREMELY atypical'

#red said #recent events have reminded me that my life has involved like. a LOT of other people's psychosis #like not in a way where i have been Beset By Terrifying Crazies bc that's not like. a thing.#but a lot of people in my life have had a lot of really severe psychotic episodes #and i FORGET sometimes. that actually that is an Unusual Amount Of Experience With Psychosis for someone who's not #for somebody who has not really personally ever had psychotic episodes (unless severe PTSD flashbacks count)#actually i tell a lie i have maybe had One psychotic episode but because it was very situational and i knew what was happening #i was able to ride it out. because i am literally only psychotic Inside Hospitals and so that's all fine #as long as i LITERALLY NEVER HAVE TO HAVE INPATIENT CARE. Very important to me to never ever ever require surgery i think.#i can handle the amount of psychosis i get from a 1-4 hour stopoff in hospital #as long as i know I'm leaving soon then i can just Cope with the fact that the walls are moving and reality is thin #ANYWAY that's not the point the point is i forget! that most ppl i know have experience of at most a handful of severe psychotic episodes #some people i know have experienced more for sure. especially if the episodes were mostly theirs.#but people really seem to expect me to be more freaked out by their symptoms of psychosis than i am #bc i don't think i really register it as frightening unless they're in actual danger or Currently Aggressing Actually At Me #like i WORRY about them bc it can super suck but it's not SHOCKING or WEIRD #there have definitely been times ive been frightened. one time i woke up in the night and my friend was standing over me with a knife #but also like he was still HIM he was just having a moment. and as soon as i got the knife off him he just came back and broke down.#and we were fine and he was safe and i learnt the valuable lesson that even when people seem like they wanna kill you they probably don't #tbf now I'm thinking about it it's honestly a tossup whether he was there to threaten or because he felt a need to guard us #like to be clear probably don't try and take a knife off someone having a psychotic break. i was 17 and it was 3am and i knew him very well #i probably did not make the smartest call but nobody got hurt is the point #anyway you know there's that kind of psychotic episode and my granny got very violently angry a few times. buuuut you know there's also #been plenty of other times I've been with somebody having an episode and it's been chill as hell.#my ex saw and heard monsters so much that eventually she just got sick of being scared. we used to watch TV with them #i would sometimes have to sit on a bit of sofa that wasn't haunted and we might not be able to watch certain things bc they didn't like it #most of the time she was hallucinating there was absolutely nothing to worry about we just had a few extra variables #honestly of everyone i know who's had psychotic episodes or schizophrenia the amount of times it's been a material risk #is like. low single figures? maybe low double if you include self harm but idk what the cause and effect is there.#idk why you would need to be frightened like 99.99% of the time it truly is usually just Oh No That Seems Distressing For You I'm Sorry

God I was watching this part of the story and my heart broke when I saw how incredibly sad Arthur looked. I mean, it's totally logical. The bank robbery had gone horribly wrong, his greatest father figure had died, Lenny who was probably like a brother to him and he loved had also died, John who was a brother to him was captured along with Charles and Abigail whom he also loved, plus the rest of the band that he didn't know what had happened to them either.

He was on a boat in the middle of nowhere and he didn't know if he was going to get out of there alive and if he would be able to see any of them again.

#I have felt real terror when they have to leave the ship #I can see how scared everyone was especially Arthur #especially the moment when he saw the boat where Durch and the rest were sinking underwater #he didn't know if they were going to survive #or if he was going to survive #everything had to be horrible for everyone #I'm going to cry cry a lot #everything goes wrong for them and it goes from bad to worse #also...the cough starts to be more constant at this point in the story #this probably also made his illness worse because of the humidity #I'm going to stop because I'm going to start crying #btw the design of this part of history is incredible #everything in this game is incredible #but the way you can see the deterioration of all the characters.#how their neck or face are burned #longer facial hair #the dirt on their clothes #all the details in this game are perfectly done #red dead redemption 2 #rdr2 #red dead redemption community #red dead fandom #rdr2 community #rdr2 arthur #arthur morgan

btw in case anybody's wondering what i've been working on as of late i've mostly been redesigning this guy for the 4th time because sometimes good ideas are bad

#he wears biker gear now 👍 the level of detail is murdering me in real life but it looks cool #atbb #karma #not art-tagging or main-tagging this bc its a wip #but i'll still leave rbs open for a bit bc i don't plan to post any finished redesigns until a good bit in the future #oh yea im gonna be redesigning like the entire atbb crew btw . i wanna Fix them all now that i have the skills of someone older than 14 #as shown here by karma no longer being a skinny rectangle with a head the size of a prized pumpkin #and the fact that i'm not nearly as scared of actually drawing wrinkles in clothes anymore lmao #i was planning to start drawing the new refs after i finished the whole ebony thing #but my brain decided to go on strike until i drew a different character and after 4 months i had to give in to demand 😔#i'll get back to that hopefully soon enough once i get back into the groove of drawing but for now i'm focused on Hellish Details #pro tip never design a character with biker gear it looks sick but you'll be in pain the entire time #especially if u try to make the collar accurate. dont ever ever make the collar of a leather jacket accurate just trust me on this one #anyway thats all for now i will disappear for another ten thousand years
