I've been sitting on this ask since you put the tags on my art but Adachi having mommy issues has consumed part of my headspace for him. It would definitely help shed a new light on his thing about women if he does. As someone who's bestie is mommy issues idk how I never realized it before.

Also femadachi with mommy issues makes me even more insane bc I just Know femadachi's mom has the "I accomplished xyz by the time I was your age so I expect you to do all that and be better then me" mentality. Which is why I definitely think femadachi is the pinnacle workaholic. Anyway I'm just yapping but I also need you to know that your brain is so huge for this one.

omg thanks for the ask! it's so funny you say this, I looked back at what I wrote and I was being very reserved in my tags LMAO I was thinking "I'm going to sound insane if I just come out and say Adachi has mommy issues. let's include a million qualifiers when I make this assertion." but I'm so glad you see it too! it definitely plays into his opinions on women imo. he feels neglected by his parents and overwhelmed by their expectations of him but, seeing as it's expected that the mother's role is to be more nurturing and more involved in domestic affairs, he probably resents her more/blames her more and now feels entitled to what he didn't get when he was younger. and especially the way he ties food to affection. like his mom not noticing he didn't like the tough lotus root and now he has that line in his social link that's like "I just want a girl who can cook. that's the most important thing." he is hungry in so many ways.

and YOU'RE SO RIGHT ABOUT FEMADACHI'S RELATIONSHIP WITH HER MOM like. I can imagine the mommy issues are worse for her by virtue of that comparison to her mother. pinnacle workaholic makes sense for her, and I feel like she's even more disillusioned than regular adachi because her hard work still isn't getting her where she wants to be. and she probably had to work harder to get where she was pre-demotion to inaba. honestly, it's a wonder she did not have a breakdown before inaba 😭😭😭

Took him long enough. Also, love how Kerubim recognizes him by his evil-ass smile. Do you stare at him smiling a lot, whenever he comes to beat the shit out of you, Keke? Is this ingrained in your memory?

This, too, is doomed toxic platonic brotherly yuri.

"Not my favorite brother" I know that a lot of people interpret this line as him casually dropping the ecaflip demigod lore, because, sure, they have like, 20 brothers, but... 

But considering what we know about the Crepin family from the comic, — I like to think this is Kerubim trying to hurt Atcham by implying that he likes their dead brothers, — whom they barely remember due to those dying when they were like 7, — more than him.

This might be a reach, but it's a funny reach, okay?

It's so nice of him to correct Kerubim on the exact wording of the death threat he usually uses. 🥰

I'm insane. Just so you know. Like I have no comment, other than saying that I am insane. "My dear Kerubim," and "your beloved brother" make me lose my mind.

This is beef between two people who used to be besties. The affection they held for one another is used as a sort of sarcastic ammo. From Atcham's side, with "dear," and "beloved brother," and from Kerubim's side, with "not my favorite brother."

There's a lot to unpack here, and a lot of it was unpacked in previous posts, — but...

Atcham viewing Kerubim's situation when they were kids as better is depressing.

Despite this being a perfect plan to kill Kerubim, even the idea of besting Kerubim in the self-esteem psychic warfare makes him grin. If he can't get rid of him, he will put him in his place.

To Atcham, Kerubim is the egotistical one, obsessed with what other people think of him, — and to Kerubim, Atcham is the psychotic insane menace to society. And neither really stops to think about the fact that they hate the other for the things they do themselves

You just know Atcham is thinking about how narcissistic and mentally ill Kerubim is to be caught in a saw trap like that. Despite being the "so obsessed with Kerubim that he keeps building him saw traps" guy.

Yet again, I'd like to reiterate, that I NEED Kerubim to drop the Atcham lore.

This is what I keep saying about Atcham being edited out of Kerubim's life — and about Atcham probably building other saw traps for him.

Here, Kerubim attempts to reach out and let Indie know that, despite everything, he does like him. Indie's response is that when Kerubim dies, his body will be an awesome to display in his museum.

I already talked at length about how fucked this moment is, in the long Kerubim analysis. God.

I really do think that Kerubim had a lot of warm feelings towards Indie that may not have been entirely reciprocated, which lead to him playing up his own hatred towards Indie.

...And he had to deal with Indie saying this, while the other person he tries to hate but can't quite manage to, was present.

I would say this is worse than going to a battle too.

From Kerubim's point of view, Indie didn't lose because he might have deep, hidden feelings of camaraderie for him. He lost because he was a better person.

While Kerubim proved himself to be exactly who Atcham thinks he is: someone so egotistical that he'd rather die, than be embarrassed.

Drinking tea from a dainty little cup while his evil twin is dying. Freak.

He assumes that everyone is as obsessed with their self-esteem issues and hatred as he and Kerubim are.

Just like it didn't occur to Kerubim to stop giving a damn and prove his brother wrong for once, it didn't occur to Atcham that Indie might not hate Kerubim that much, or care about winning.

You won the war for Indie's heart, Keke, and all it took is a near-death experience and him learning even a bit about your insane familial drama. We are so back.

One of the crack theories I used to have, is that Atcham might have killed indie sometime before the movie, — however, considering he doesn't recognize Lilotte, I think he's just saying shit to be scary here, in hopes Indie changes his mind.

Movie 13! One of my favourite movies of the series! Definitely one of my favourite starts to a movie.

I mean, it has Shinichi having a trauma induced nightmare over being found by the Black Organization, sadly something we don't see often in canon.

However this also addresses something that canon does not like too which is that Shinichi is not keeping Ran safe by hiding his identity from her. Just by living with her and Kogoro, he is putting them in danger if he is ever found out because as everyone who is associated with BO have told him, they will get rid of EVERYONE associated to his new and old identity. They almost killed Kogoro and Shinichi just to make sure he wasn't close to finding them out before. All keeping Ran in the dark does is put her in more danger. If only he would trust her, we would get more awesome scenes like the one we get to see in this movie where Ran fights on par with one of the members.

I know not to question it because the answer is anime logic but really how do those suspenders work T-T

I do appreciate all these detectives wondering where Conan is, you know they were all willing to let him inside the conference room. I love the imagery, all these cops paying a lot of attention to the seven year old in the room.

I genuinely hate how they hide information from Haibara. I don't even know why when her insider knowledge of the BO would be incredibly useful for Shinichi. Haibara has already said she doesn't want to run away anymore so she'll be willing to help while still be cautious about it, something Shinichi forgets when he's chasing them.

And this is why Shinichi needs to be more careful about becoming himself again, because a slip-up like what happened with Takagi could happen again. I know the boy has a flare for the dramatics but he should just join a drama club instead of putting his, and everyone elses, lives in danger.

I wonder why Shinichi picked a dolphin to make.

I love Shinichi's casual conversations with Vermouth. He knows she won't hurt him and will give him information for her own amusement.

The bait and switch of believing Takagi and Sato were about to be shot :p I like it.

Isn't it good for Shinichi criminals have bad aim. Well, they're using a machine gun so that's also why.

And this is Shinichi's most insane plan so far (he tops it in Singapour). He actually takes down a helicopter and scares Gin. Imagine Gin's reaction when he learns it was a teenager in a child's body that did that too.

If only Shinichi could have framed that and sent it to Akai. He would be so proud of Shinichi.

Definitely White! White gets points from being in my favorite chapter and also having amazing dynamics and a relly cool arc (the scene with her and N on the Ferris Wheel was. insane. the first time I read it)

BLACK!!!! Though Cheren is a close second. Just. He's such an ADHD gremlin I love him (deeply relatable and also his dynamic with the other main characters is sooo tasty I love him)

The Last of Us! Oh my God, what an awesome community! I was welcomed with open arms, my fics were received with incredible excitement - which I was shocked by - and I gained close friends that became like family in an instant!

14. a fic you didn’t expect to write

The death fic. I loved and I loved and I lost you hit me one day like a damn wrecking ball and I literally had to sit down cause I had tears in my eyes and I couldn't breathe. It hurt like hell and yet I knew I had to drop everything and write it. It was at a time when I took a little break from writing Titans and I tried to force myself to come back to it by coming up with an idea that's cute, fluffy, and a bit romantic and even spicy. But that wasn't what my heart was truly calling for; instead it wanted to process the grief over losing this beloved show the only way it knew how - by pouring that grief onto my two birds.

This one on my Prospect fic Holding On And Letting Go because it brought me to tears and I was incredibly touched and impressed by this person's deep analysis.

You said to pick a few so I'll give you my 2023 Big Three - I will never pass on an opportunity to gush about my besties!

@ambeauty because she never fails me when it comes to squeezing all of the Titans-related emotions out of me. I'm talking the full spectrum - from getting so hot I need an ice bath, through rolling on the floor dying laughing, to screaming into my pillow and sobbing. The attention to details floors me every time, especially in the most recent chapter of her fic Without You I Got Nothing To Lose, where she brought Kory's home world to life through her own vision, inspired by the culture and traditions close to her own heart and it's absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! Not to mention she always sprinkles in some beautiful moments for my two birds and I collect each one of them like shiny little diamonds and tuck them close to my heart.

@sotvtaughtmehowtofeel making me emo about Cee and Ezra on the daily!!! To see myself reflected in your eyes is one of my favorite fics I read this year and holy shit I still remember how hard I was crying, how high my heart was soaring. My girl here is all about making you emotional with symbolism and softness, making the littlest things like a simple touch of a hand mean so freaking much it takes your breath away. She always hits all the marks that go straight to my heart and I’m always so excited to read her stuff!

@orangechickenpillow another Prospector in our ranks, is here because Etterath is A MASTERPIECE!!! To keep the two characters from any sort of physical contact/affection just to slam dunk you with it by the end? GENIUS!!!! I am literally shaking while reading every single chapter, just as I’ve been shaking and crying and holding my breath with all their works, either Prospect or The Last of Us!!! This one’s got a way with words that just gets you right in the gut, the insane ability to destroy you with a single sentence.

HELLOOOO you are absolutely not too late, though i am late to the whole october and halloween thing here lmao. was struggling with this request and i thought maybe my thoughts would flow better if i wasn't thinking of it as a formal request and just blabbed about it right here. but i adore this concept so i still wanted to write something about it and get something to you even if it's messy and possibly ends up incoherent :))

nonetheless, i hope you enjoy my word vomit because i truly do love this idea and you for planting it in my head <3 (only cw is alcohol mention, which has nothing to do with the children i promise lmao)

first of all i love this idea of this au where they're all teachers. given the kindergarten through third graders it's kinda perfect because each grade can have two teachers and they're like teacher pairs and it's cute and fun. and to add reader into this i thought it would be super cute if reader was like the school librarian and gets to interact with all the teachers and their classes. i was thinking about san and woo as the kindergarten teachers just because of how well they played with little arin and ayun. and then yeosang and jjong with the first graders just cuz i think they'd be so cute with younger kids but first graders are slightly less insane than kindergartners maybe ?? plus i think they'd be the funniest pair of teachers like i just adore they're dynamic and i'm just thinking about jongho turning all the children against yeosang and they just relentlessly tease him forever <3333 next up in second grade i put yunho and mingi and idk this is such a horrible idea like they would never get anywhere that classroom is just screaming and more screaming and the quiet kids are just like save us please :D and last but not least, we have seongjoong as the third grade teachers because i think they'd be the only one's who can discipline older kids and that hongjoong might die if the kids were even less mature that the third graders already are.

and then yeah, you are the school librarian (or some other staff member that frequently works with the classes but i'm just saying librarian bc i work at my school's library and what's fanfic without it being a self insert <3). and yeah you get to be besties with all of them because they're a whole big squad that kinda scares the other teachers but they kidnapped you into their group because you're just so cool and awesome and they love you and the things you do for their students <3

what they also love about you is that you love halloween and always help them prepare for taking the students trick or treating. i like the idea that all the pairs of teachers have a tradition of matching their costumes. and this year, it goes (mostly) great for (almost) all of them. the night before the event, the nine of you have a halloween party amongst yourselves, a tradition that started a few years ago. obviously, you all show up to seonghwa's apartment in costume.

this year, san and wooyoung have defaulted on onesie costumes, explaining that before, they had attempted to diy complicated anime character costumes. it was going well (or so they say) until yesterday when they realized they had neither the skills or time to finish the costumes. they are very pleased when you tell them you're a big fan of their matching kuromi and my melody onesies, and that you think the kids will also enjoy these far more than whatever elaborate plan they had before. jongho, on the other hand, is having a blast making fun of them.

and while woosan are stunning in their hello kitty costumes, yeosang and jongho are really vying for your favorite pair this year. though, it looks like yeosang’s thick biceps are struggling against the sleeves of his snow white dress despite his lovely features being complimented by the femininity of the outfit. jongho looks as charming (completely unfunny pun intended) as always in his prince charming outfit, ready to unknowingly continue stealing the hearts of all of his student’s parents.

yet, these costumes, along with yunho and mingi's, are causing a lot of noise because the tall pair of best friends showed up as a princess and his knight in shining armor. jongho is indignant, convinced that he and yeosang's costumes are far better. yeosang is drowning a bit in the shouting, but doing his best to defend himself when he gets the chance. wooyoung has told yeosang that he's a costume repeater because he played snow white in a play in middle school, but san thinks it looks cooler this time because of yeo's far bigger muscles. mingi says he looks prettier because his dress his pink and yunho won't really defend him on it, but insists that the costumes are different enough because he's a knight, not a prince (and that he's cooler for that same reason).

this time, seonghwa has chosen neither to be a part of the chaos nor to attempt to stop it, and is instead happily perched on the couch with a glass of wine because he is finally satisfied with his costume this year.

time and time again, seonghwa insists on dressing as toothless, convinced that it's the perfect costume for him. and time and time again, he begs hongjoong to be a matching light fury with him. and, you know it... time and time again, hongjoong has refused. he's offered to dress as hiccup, and maybe a different dragon, but he refuses to complete seonghwa's request. secretly, you think it's just hongjoong's way of getting back at seonghwa for the printer incident. but finally, seonghwa found a solution to make his dreams come true and just completely ditched hongjoong as his costume partner.

that is where you come in, sitting next to seonghwa in a matching light fury costume. hongjoong is actually still a part of this costume, dressed as hiccup so that the kids don't question him, but his part in this plan a bit irrelevant to seonghwa. he's just so happy to finally have completed this costume, and will not stop bragging about it to everyone in the room. he's told you that he won't allow you to be anywhere but at his side tomorrow so that he can show off your costumes, and you just nod along despite knowing that your job and large groups of children will certainly take you else where.

but aside from the fighting regarding jongsang and yungi's costumes, the night was lots of fun in which you all exercising your very special crafty skills that come with being elementary school workers. so there are so very adorable decorations that you'll set up in the morning tomorrow and another lovely set of halloween memories with your favorite people <33

Graffiti: Have you ever had to research something that felt illicit or illegal for a fic? What was it?

Stab wounds, gunshot wounds, types of guns, strychnine poisoning, poisons in general, how long it takes for a body to decompose underwater (I forgot but I do remember there's a difference between cold waters and tropical waters (it's faster in tropical waters iirc. Hotter and more creatures). Rn I'm tempted to look up what human meat tastes like. Also I haven't really gotten into the research I need for Roche Limit because I'm lazy and have written only a tiny bit of it BUT. Well I have to research cults and drug dealing and such. So. Yeahhhhh.

Film: Which one of your fics do you think would work best if turned into a movie? Who would direct it?

Uhm. I have many little stories in the Roche Limit universe which would work gloriously as films or even shows — specifically my WIPs with Abby (major side character in RL) and specifically all his catastrophic relationships. I also think Roche Limit itself would be an awesome movie but only if all the filming locations are weird liminal spaces + there's little animated bits like scribbles over people's faces and little eyes in certain places + all shots work with a similar colour palette (red, cobalt blue, turquoise, yellow) + as much practical effects as possible. All of that to convey the fact that Halcyon is dissociating and going slightly insane. I don't know about directors though. Maybe Michel Gondry, who directed Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind.

The Scream: are there any moments in this work that you think could scare a reader? Are there any moments where the characters themselves are profoundly scared?

I don't think I'm capable of writing anything that would scare a reader, rip, but there are many scenes where the characters are full of fear in Roche Limit :) teehee.

I sometimes feel like ppl read too much into 2012 a bit, not in a bad way or anything that exactly what fandom does. We pick apart our fav media, looking for all the subtle hints and little interactions to feed our fave headcanons and canons.

But it's back to that Steven universe killing the diamonds conversation, this is a show predominantly written for 11 year Olds 😭 and not only that it's a show that put cool fight scenes first and treated emotions and relationship dynamics as an after thought. It was also literally made in a period of time when shows were kind of mean. That doesn't mean you can't enjoy it but it just means does nuances and stuff won't really be the main focus point of the show(which I also think it's an added bonus because it gives fans so many different ways to add that nuance themselves) and at the end of the day we all will leave with different interpretations since the show wasn't so firm in expressing the overall dynamics and pushed everyone aside to make Leo the main focus alot of the time.

Like for me, I couldn't stand how splinter treated Raph. I related most to Raph as a kid and found how Raph was treated by splinter infuriatingly similar to how my mother treated me and for Leo I personally thought he had it best compared to his brothers because he had the closest relationship to Splinter but when I asked my little sister about it she said that she thinks he has it worse because splinter basically used him as his personal therapist and used him to deal with his problems. I never thought of it like that and honestly thought the worst part of their relationship was that Splinter left Leo to be the leader of the group in and outside of missions but I learnt a new perspective and I didn't immediately refute it because I didn't see it at first.

And I really think this is one of the biggest problems with the 2012 discussion. We always try to put everything into black and white, neat little boxes with best little labels. But there is always a gray area and sometimes it might not even be grey it can be fucking pink. We need to respect eachothers interpretations of the relationships and try to not be too quick to bash eachothers interpretations to a pulp.

And sometimes we are too blinded by rises awesomeness that we don't find the need to pay attention to 2012's awesomeness too and only look at the negatives.

And in a tangent too many ppl refuse to give 2012 a chance😭😭 ppl are too ready to call it out but haven't watched it in years. They use 2012 to make rise brothers look better.

I'll be looking for a crossover fic between the two iterations and the only thing I'll find is ppl writing 2012 April and Raph(and sometimes Donnie) like literal demon spawns and it honestly makes me kind of sad like we could have used that opportunity to add like nuances to their characters but instead we write them so unnecessarily mean😭😭😭 like babes stoppppppppp I just want to see the brothers be besties not rise brothers adopt Mikey because 12 brothers are evil monsters that don't care about their baby brother.

In June 2023 I went to the first edition of the summer variant of Dutch Comic Con. They moved it from May to June and it was terrible as it was WAY too hot to function, it was the first time I didn't even go in cosplay. Either way, I always post, so here goes.

I went for a whole weekend with my bestie Eneath, which was fantastic, because we could go by car instead of train. It was a delight. However, the weather was not great.

I do not have a lot to report though; I did not take any photos with other cosplay, also due to being insecure about not being IN cosplay myself. On day 1 I did visit with hobbit vibes in mind, and on day 2 I went more casual than I had ever been at a Comic Con I think? I don't actually remember how I went.

I did take some pics though!

These are some dice I bought! Tiny dice because they are CUTE as hell, dark glittery dice because they are COOL as hell, and a box of d10s in ace colours (in my opinion) because I thought it was awesome except I did not realize they were just d10s, rofl! All good though, just a bummer as I thought it was a whole set.

I went absolutely insane with finances this time around though. I bought a fan with my favourite Genshin Impact character on it, literally using the element anemo to cool myself down... a bunch of Digimon stuff that I can build and some TCG, and on my bag you can see a geo vision from Genshin Impact. The vision is actually why I made a new friend at my local grocery store, he recognized it from the game and now we chat on occasion LOL. Also a bottle of mead, sadly apple cinnamon, because they had no cherry cinnamon.

A bunch of artist alley merch as well. As always, love me some Miraculous Ladybug. I also got two fake Pokémon cards, gorgeous Ninetales, my favourite Pokémon... a sticker of The Last of Us, my favouritest game ever, and some Genshin Impact stickers... now also including Kaveh, another character I really like.

Also... gosh I love this so much, look:

Ellie and Joel figurines! Also a Kazuha waterprint art below it rofl. I ended up not liking the fanart as much so I kinda forgot I owned it.

And uh, super random but I fucking loved that they introduced an onigiri stand and I am *starts foaming*

Last but definitely not least, they had a little Lord of the Rings thingamajig that we visited, where you walked a little bit through the journey. I remember being at the verge of tears somehow because I felt overwhelmed, but I'm a pro at holding in emotions sometimes. Here is the pics I took. Let me test this new feature, if it sucks I will edit the post.

I'm almost done with Outer Range, but I'm definitely going to rewatch it. Also, you are so right about Cecilia. She is so interesting and I love the fact that they made her religious. I'm not, but I find characters like that so compelling. I also really love Patricia. I love her no bullshit attitude. She really be calling people out to their face and she isn't even rude about it. She's confrontational for sure, but she only be speaking facts. Gotta respect that.

I'm not sure how I feel about Perry. I sympathize. Obviously he is in a lot of pain. But he also seems like...a little immature? And a little entitled? And as a younger sibling, I sort of relate a lot to Rhett because it's annoying to be younger and have your older siblings be the ones fucking up and doing whatever they want. Like Rhett isn't perfect of course but I feel like people are quick to judge him when he, like....sleeps with a random girl but everyone rallies around Perry when he did what he did to Trevor. Like, the role reversal is not cute. And you know, older siblings should not be parents by any means, but we look up to our older siblings and when you have to be the big brother or big sister it's like, WTF? Hello? So I get why Rhett is resentful and why I am biased towards him. But, again, he is suffering because of Rebecca....which has its own fucked up story. So I'm just a tiny bit skeptical of him.

I KNOW I still have to finish Shadow and Bone and Gangs of London. I promise I will get to them, bestie. I just finished my driving class yestersay and I passed my written exam (96%!) So I just have to take the driving test now. But hopefully now I have a but more free time and I can catch up.on our shows!
