𝐔𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐋 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄! | itoshi rin x fem reader
part twelve: childhood || BAND AU, A BIT AGED UP
plot: after your band's last concert, a few days after Rin's, an online competition arises about who is the best bassist. A whole new challenge is created by the new fandom who loves you, but people don't know that you and the bassist of Blue Lock haven't spoken in about 3 years since you broke up, when you were sixteen
02: PAST, YESTERDAY
characters presentation || last part || next part ; words: 1k
𝐌𝐘 𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐓 ; take a look, trust me!. you can find the other parts of the story by searching in the section dedicated to bllk
"When did you decide to play the guitar? I've never seen you here" you say to the child, putting your bass in the case "I started a few weeks ago. How about you?" he asks, and you think about it "I've been playing my bass for a long time now, I was 5 when I started!" You say, smiling at him, and he nods before walking back with his group
That Sae Itoshi was weird, but really good with his guitar. His guitar teacher always talked to your bass teacher about how he was a phenomenon, that's why you decided to talk to him for the first time, but he didn't seem particularly interested in you. Maybe he's shy, but you don't know
"Wait, Itoshi!" you say running towards him, the bass weighing on your shoulders "I'm convinced I can handle the speed with which you play your guitar, I can be your bassist!" you say, and he seems to think about it “Are you good?” he asks raising an eyebrow, and you nod "Many say that I am the best bassist of my age, in our music school" you say a little embarrassed. You see him a little perplexed as he takes the case over his shoulder "Do you have anything to do this afternoon?" he asks, and you shake your head to say no, following him with a smile on your face
As you walk towards Sae's house, you think about how you ended up in this situation: you don't even know why you care so much about being his bassist, but you think that he is capable of giving you notes that can make you electrify. You've been playing bass for 5 years now, and when you heard that the new guitarist at the music school you go was looking for some good bass players, you took the opportunity. Sae is 12 years old, a little older than you, but he already seems to be great at what he does; you have fairly high expectations, both on his part and on your part
"Come, we can go to the garage" says the child entering a small garden, taking a path that surrounds the road, which leads to the back. You follow him, looking around curiously, noticing how the outside of the house is very nice. When you arrive at the back Sae takes you into the already open garage, which overlooks a very well-kept garden, probably from her mother "You can connect your bass to that speaker. Shall we try some songs?" he asks, plugging in his guitar, and you nod, following the order that he gave you “You start, I'll join you and give you the right rhythm. After all, that's what the bass does"
Sae begins, and after a few seconds you join him: you both start playing a strong melody from a song you studied in music school, one you particularly like. Even though you've never played together you seem to have been doing it for a long time, as if a chemical reaction had taken place between your bass and his guitar. Play for minutes on end, until you reach the end
“That was so cool!” you say happy, but he doesn't seem to share the same happiness, despite being calm "It was nice. Let's try again with something else" he says, and you nod getting into position, yours fingers on the bass keys. For the second time you start playing without any problems, and you feel so happy to finally have someone who can give you emotions when he plays: you've been playing for a while, you know how it works to be paired with someone for a duet, you've always gotten along well with everyone because you're talented, but you've never had fun. But now you're doing it, you're not the only one with so much talent. It's satisfying, magical, beautiful
But as you play, you notice how someone is peeking from the last step of the garage stairs, the ones that probably lead to the first floor
Finished playing, Sae puts down the guitar, climbing onto the first step "Rin!" he says, and you are confused "If you are interested, you can come down. Observing is rude" says Itoshi, and a child comes out from behind the door, that is, from where he was hiding while he was looking at you "Sorry, Nii San" says the child coming down the stairs, looking down and apologetic
Seeing him like this, he is probably his younger brother; he could be your age, since you should be more or less the same height. He is quite different from Sae, except for the marked undereyelashes, perhaps a symbol of the Itoshi family: he has dark green hair, teal eyes and chubby cheeks. He is quite a bit shorter than Sae, that's why you're convinced he's his younger brother
When he reaches the garage floor, after going down the stairs, his gaze shifts to you: you observe each other for a few seconds, you curious about him and him for who knows what reason, which however doesn't make him look away
"Rin, I told you it's rude to stare. Introduce yourself to her" Sae says, walking over, placing a hand on his shoulder. Rin becomes serious again, standing up straight "I'm Rin Itoshi. I'm Sae's younger brother" the boy says, and Sae nods "He's 10, you should be the same age, right?" he asks, and you nod "I have 10 too, yeah"
Rin's gaze continually shifts between you and your bass as he stands a few feet away from you. You look at him curiously "Do you like my bass?" you ask, moving closer, and he takes a few steps back "Oh, yes" he says uncertainly, but you don't seem bothered by his uncertainty "Do you play an instrument too?" you ask, and Sae walks away, returning to his guitar, which he puts back on
“He said he wants to start sing-” Sae says, but is cut off from the ringing voice of his brother
"I want to play bass"

As a portrayal of a scientist (biologist, I believe) on humanity's most crucial mission, Brand's argument is a jarring departure from scientific thinking. The film leans into a mystical, unscientific framing that makes Brand feel less like a scientist and more like a romanticized emotional foil to Cooper’s rationalism. Let me explain.
Cooper: You're a scientist, Brand. Brand: So listen to me when I say that love isn't something that we invented. It's... observable, powerful. It has to mean something. Cooper: Love has meaning, yes. Social utility, social bonding, child rearing...
The concept we have as "love" evolved as an adaptation that serves clear evolutionary benefits through social bonding and parental investment (example: increased survival and reproductive success), as Cooper correctly notes. Love is not a physical force like gravity, but it is observable in neurobiology. It involves chemical and neurological processes (oxytocin, dopamine, etc.) that facilitate bonding and cooperation.
Brand: We love people who have died. Where's the social utility in that? Cooper: None.
This is likely a residual effect of our broader capacity for emotional attachment - the grief response doesn't simply switch off when someone dies, as that would be maladaptive for a social species. The scientific problems compound when examining her dismissal of love's evolutionary origins. Not all creatures who survive show love or any emotional attachment -take tardigrades who have survived all mass extinctions and can survive in the vacuum of space (or other extremophiles who thrive in harsher conditions). Even among social species, love is just one of many survival strategies, not a universal requirement. Many species rely on hierarchical dominance, symbiosis, or sheer reproductive numbers rather than deep emotional bonds. This is strong evidence that love is just one of many possible evolutionary strategies, not some fundamental force of the universe.
Brand: Maybe it means something more - something we can't yet understand. Maybe it's some evidence, some artefact of a higher dimension that we can't consciously perceive. I'm drawn across the universe to someone I haven't seen in a decade, who I know is probably dead. Love is the one thing we're capable of perceiving that transcends dimensions of time and space. Maybe we should trust that, even if we can't understand it. All right Cooper. Yes. The tiniest possibility of seeing Wolf again excites me. That doesn't mean I'm wrong. Cooper: Honestly, Amelia... it might.
While she correctly notes that love is "observable," she then makes an enormous unsupported leap to claiming it "transcends dimensions of time and space" - a statement that conflates a neurobiological phenomenon with fundamental physical forces like gravity. Brand is cherry-picking one emotional capacity and attributing cosmic significance to it while ignoring the more negative sides of the human emotional spectrum. Her argument goes beyond biological utility, implying love has cosmic or extra-dimensional significance, which is not supported by evidence.
The same emotional attachments that make us care for our in-group can fuel hostility toward out-groups. She singles out love while ignoring its darker counterparts like hate and greed - the very emotional drives currently fueling environmental destruction and potentially leading to human extinction (see: "Holocene Extinction" or "Anthropocene Extinction"). The irony is particularly sharp given that humanity's tendency to prioritize emotional decision-making over rational analysis contributed significantly to Earth's crisis in the first place.
The scene's gender dynamics are especially disappointing. Having the female scientist advocate for emotional intuition while the male character maintains rational skepticism plays into tired stereotypes about women in science. This undermines Brand's credibility as a scientist- instead of showcasing her scientific expertise, the scene reduces her to a romantic idealist making mystical arguments about love transcending spacetime. It makes her look less competent in a mission that's for the survival of our species.
While the scene clearly aims to explore the tension between empirical reasoning and human experience, it does so by sacrificing the scientific credibility of one of its lead characters and falling into gendered tropes. For a film that (mostly) strives for scientific accuracy (thank you Kip Thorne), this represents a significant misstep in both its portrayal of science and its character development. It falls into the tired trope of the emotional woman vs. rational man, making Brand seem less competent in the most important mission in human history.
TLDR; The scene pushes a sentimental, one-sided argument that ignores the full picture of human emotions, their evolutionary roles, and the very basics of physics. The scene leans into the tired rational-man vs. emotional-woman trope, making Brand feel more like a romanticized emotional foil to Cooper’s rationalism than a competent scientist. In a film that (mostly) aims for realism in its scientific principles, reducing its female scientist to the role of an intuitive idealist mystic weakens both her character and the credibility of the argument. This scene also undermines its own scientific credibility by framing love as a cosmic force while ignoring its evolutionary and biological roots.

Hi, can I request a Axel Kovačević x reader fic in wich the reader is from Furia de pantera but she is not from Barcelona she is from andalusia (you can choose the province you like the most).
So the reader saw how Sensei Wolf treats Axel and has been thinking about it, and she feels guilty about having done nothing about it. Her team see how she is feeling down, so they say to go out to a bar to decompress, and obviously, she says yes. On their way to the bar, after having a bit of girl talk with Maria and Mercedes while getting dressed, she sees Axel in the beach so she tells them to go ahead and that she will meet them in the bar. She talks with him and asks him to go to the bar with her, but he says no because Sensei Wolf has banned him, so he stays focused on the tournament 🙄
So she invites him to her apartment, and she tells Axel that she saw what happened and that she regrets not doing anything and the Axel kisses her and smut happens (?)
I don't know if this makes any sense it comes from the scribbles of one of my notebooks that I have for when I have dreams that I don't want to forget and is really messy. Sorry if it's too detailed. I don't know how to make a request without giving too many details. And maybe there is a second part to this ask, but I don't know if it's ok to ask it, and I feel like I'm asking for too much 😣

The Sekai Taikai is everything you expected and more. The atmosphere is charged with adrenaline, every fight a battle for glory and honor, and every dojo striving to prove its supremacy. But while you should be focused on the competition, your mind is caught up in something else.
Or someone else.
Axel Kovacevic.
Since that training session, you haven’t been able to get out of your head what you saw. You were the only one who witnessed it. The only one who knows.
His sensei hitting him.
Axel didn’t defend himself, didn’t say anything, didn’t show anger or pain. He just took it, as if it were normal. And you… you did nothing. You stood frozen, caught between surprise and fear. And now guilt follows you like a shadow.
You try to focus on the tournament, on your fights, on your dojo’s goal. But every time you see Axel, every time you catch that vacant look and his blind obedience, you feel like you’re suffocating.
Maria, your captain, has noticed your odd behavior. During a break, she sits next to you, studying you closely.
"You’ve been quiet lately," she says firmly, as always.
"I’m just tired."
Maria narrows her eyes. She doesn’t believe you.
"You’re not fooling me."
You don’t say anything. You can’t tell her the truth. Because you were the only one who saw it. And because admitting it would mean facing the fact that you didn’t do anything.
Mercedes joins the conversation, crossing her arms.
"You could use a break. Let’s go to the bar tonight."
You want to decline. You’re not in the mood to socialize. But at the same time, you don’t want to be alone with your thoughts. So you agree.
The night air buzzes with energy as you walk through the lit-up streets. Maria and Mercedes laugh and joke, but you remain quiet, keeping pace with them.
That’s when you see him.
He’s sitting on the sand of a nearby beach, his silhouette outlined by the dim glow of the streetlights. Alone, as always.
You stop in your tracks.
"What’s wrong?" Mercedes asks, turning to look at you.
You glance at Axel for a moment before replying, "You two go ahead to the bar. I’ll catch up in a bit."
Maria gives you a suspicious look but says nothing. Mercedes, more carefree, just shrugs.
"Don’t take too long."
You watch them walk away and then take a deep breath before heading toward Axel. The sand crunches under your feet, but he doesn’t react until you’re close enough.
"What are you doing here?" he asks without looking at you, his tone flat as always.
"I should be asking you that."
Axel finally looks at you, his eyes dull and filled with something you can’t quite describe.
"Clearing my head."
You sit next to him, not caring about the sand sticking to your clothes.
"You should come with us. We’re going to the bar. You could relax a little."
Axel shakes his head before you can finish.
"I can’t. My sensei forbade it."
You frown.
"Forbidden what?"
"Going out, distracting myself. He said I should only focus on the tournament."
His words hit you like a punch to the chest. It’s not just what you saw that day; it’s everything this implies. Axel doesn’t live—he merely survives.
"Axel… that’s not right."
"It doesn’t matter if it’s right or not. It’s what I have to do."
You bite your lip, frustrated by his resignation. You can’t force him to change, but you also can’t leave him like this.
"Then come with me to my apartment."
Axel looks at you, startled.
"Your apartment?"
"Yes. Just… come. Let’s talk."
He hesitates for a moment but eventually nods.
"Alright."
The walk to your apartment is filled with an uncomfortable silence. Axel walks behind you, his posture rigid, as if preparing for something. When you finally arrive, you open the door and invite him inside.
Axel steps in cautiously, scanning every corner as though he’s in unfamiliar territory. You sit on the couch and gesture for him to sit next to you.
"I need to tell you something," you start, taking a deep breath.
Axel doesn’t respond, but his gaze locks onto yours, waiting.
"I saw what happened. During training. I saw your sensei hit you."
His eyes darken, and for a moment, it seems like he’s about to say something, but he doesn’t.
"I want you to know I’m sorry for not doing anything. I just stood there, watching, and… I’m sorry."
Axel lowers his gaze, his hands clenched into fists on his knees.
"You didn’t have to do anything," he says finally, his voice barely a whisper. "I’m used to it."
"You shouldn’t be. No one should be."
Axel lifts his head, his eyes meeting yours. For the first time, you see something different in them. Pain. Vulnerability.
You instinctively move closer, placing your hand over his.
"You don’t have to go through this alone."
Axel doesn’t reply, but he doesn’t pull away. Then, before you can think, your lips brush against his.
The kiss is soft at first, filled with hesitation and uncertainty. But then, it’s as if something inside him breaks. His hands, always so restrained, find your waist, pulling you closer.
It’s a kiss filled with repressed emotions, with everything he never says, with everything he never allows himself to feel.
When you finally pull away, Axel lowers his gaze, his breathing unsteady.
"Thank you," he whispers, his voice breaking.
You take his face in your hands, forcing him to look at you.
"You don’t have to thank me. I just want you to be okay."
Axel nods slowly, as though those words are hard for him to process.
"I'm glad you were there," he says, his voice a little louder. I'm glad it was you.
A slight smile appears on his lips. It's so rare to see him smile that it excites you even more. He kisses you again, but this time the kiss is more intense, more desperate.
"I would like to do it," he says, his eyes fixed on you. "I want to do it with you".
You blush.
"Axel…"
"I've imagined it many times," he continues, his fingers caressing your arm. "I have imagined what it would be like, how you would feel under my body"
Your breath catches in your throat. You didn't expect him to say it so openly.
But at the same time... you can't deny that you like it.
"Axel" you say, taking a breath. "Axel, you don't have to..."
"I want," he says, before you can finish. I want a lot.
He looks at you with pleading eyes, and something inside you falls apart.
"All right," you say, before you can change your mind.
Axel smiles, excited, and picks you up in his arms before lifting you off the couch. He guides you to your room with your help.
The first thing he does when they arrive is take off your clothes. He undresses you, trembling a little under Axel's fixed gaze. He takes off his clothes with difficulty, as if he weren't used to it. And when he finally has you naked at his feet, he smiles.
"You are beautiful," he says, with admiration. Exactly as I imagined.
You blush, excited, as Axel kneels between your legs.
"I want to see you," he says, looking at you with an expression full of curiosity. I want to see all parts of you. Tell me what I should do. I want you to enjoy.
You get a little excited by his honesty, but you realize that Axel has no experience in these things. So you take his hand and guide it to your pussy. You place it over your inner lips and apply pressure.
"Here" you say. "Stroke here".
Axel nods and begins to do exactly what you told him, his fingers caressing your lips gently. Then, when he seems more confident, he inserts two fingers into you and begins to move them carefully.
"Is this okay?" he asks. "Do you like it?"
"Yes", closing your eyes. "Yes, more".
"What more?" he says, curious.
"Stronger. Deeper".
Axel bites his lip before obeying, increasing the rhythm and pressure. And while his fingers make love to you, he kisses you as well, his mouth exploring every part of you that he can reach. His lips caress your neck, your breasts, your thighs, until he finally finds your pussy and begins to lick it gently.
"Axel" let go, your hips moving uncontrollably.
"Say it" he says. "Say it. Do you want me to eat you?"
"Yes" you moan, your fingers caressing her hair.
"Well" he says, smiling, and sinks deeper into you.
His lips suck on your inner lips, and his tongue enters you, moving skillfully, making you feel like you're about to explode. And when his fingers return to you, they begin to caress your clitoris, and it's too much for you.
"Axel", your body arching over the bed.
Axel lifts his eyes, excited, as your hips continue to move over his face. Then, before he can stop, you have an orgasm on his lips and fingers.
Axel licks you for a few moments, but then he sits down, his breathing quickened. You blush at his intense gaze.
"You taste so delicious" he says, kissing your thighs. "I love the taste of your pussy"
You get excited by his words, and before you can react, Axel takes your mouth with his, kissing you passionately.
"Axel" you whisper, taking his face in your hands.
"Do you want me to continue?" he asks, with a smile. "I want to fuck you. I want to fuck you until you come again".
"Yes," you say, excited by his words.
And that's exactly what he does.
Axel penetrates you gently, his eyes always on yours, as if he needs to make sure everything is okay. And when you feel comfortable, he begins to move carefully, his rhythmic thrusts.
"Axel" groans "God!"
Axel smiles and kisses you while he fucks you, his lips tracing your breasts and your neck.
"Axel… I'm going to…" you moan, feeling the orgasm approaching.
"Let's go," says Axel. "Come to me"
And you do it.
Your orgasm makes your hips arch over the bed, and Axel keeps fucking you until he also reaches climax.
It spills over you with a whisper of pleasure, and then sits beside you, its fingers caressing your breasts and thighs. You smile, excited by the touch.
"That was... incredible," you say, taking their hand in yours.
"Yes," he says, with a smile.

Lessons in Story: Artificial Intelligence
Artificial intelligence is not an element of story, and yet here we are.
I'm aware that AI is bad for the environment. So's tumblr. That's all true. I'm also aware that AI scrapes copyrighted material like google does. I'm aware of how it steals art for its knowledge base without compensating artists and uses is as a model and replacement for skills. That's bad. I'm not going to address any of that here.
I have been observing how people talk about using AI in various parts of their writing process at the same time as I'm been trying to understand my own process and the obstacles I'm facing, and these two topics have oddly collided.
As I've said previously, my background is in some kind of woo woo where narrative comes out in one whole piece. So the fact that writing is many different and iterative pieces is something I had to figure out in my own bizarre way, but at the moment I now understand the basic process to be in these four general stages:
dreaming/planning (coming up with characters, ideas, goals, worlds, etc.)
outlining (not to say that this isn't many sub-stages, all of these steps are big catagories)
writing (actually putting words into sentences so your story exists)
Editing (revising, restructuring, polishing, etc.)
Are there more steps that I'm not accounting for? Those are the stages as I understand them. You can move back and forth through these stages throughout the process, so it's not necessarily linear, though it could be. For me, the key has been embracing the fact these are all radically different activities that require a completely different headspace, different skills, sometimes different tools, and a different perspective on narrative. That has been freeing revelation, because I was trying to do most of it at the same time.
But here's what else I've learned:
Dreaming/planning: this is a zero consistency space when it comes to how close or how far away you are from your protagonist. Are you feeling what they feel, or are you 30,000 feet up looking at the task they have in front of them and the path they're going to take? Or are you somewhere in between? Kind of all of the above at different points.
Outlining: in my experience, this can and should include emotional through lines, but outlining usually focuses on the 30,000 foot view. I have personally never written an outline that didn't miss critical details because of the 30,000 foot gap between me and the protagonist when I outline.
Writing: this seems like the very closest and most intimate you get with your story and your protagonist, right? This is where you live through it with them in extreme detail. There is no distance between you and them, you have to use a telescope to see 30,000 feet up. I find I have to revise my outline in small ways because I often underestimate or overestimate what something's going to feel like on the ground. This is like a micro-discovery phase: not plot discovery, emotional and intimate detail discovery.
Editing: I'm not an expert at this, but so far I feel like it goes back to being extremely inconsistent. It's either very close in a different way, or 30,000 feet up, or various in-between levels, depending on the type of editing or revision. And sometimes it's none of those, it's completely outside looking at how many times you use the word "feel" or whether your verbs and nouns agree.
Right. So people try to insert AI to do the graft for one or more of these stages.
AI in stage 1: I've seen some folks talk about using AI to get ideas for stories. I don't understand that, ideas are the easiest part of this process, as far as I can tell. Life's a rich pageant, maybe that's not universally true. Now, having AI to help you refine an idea, I can see that. Especially if you ask it to point out tropes and cliches as you go. Is that bad? Is that cheating? I dunno.
AI in stage 2: I've never seen anyone say they do this. If you have an amazing and complete story idea and you want to shaped into a 3 or 5 act structure, or a hero's journey, etc. I'm sure AI could do that, but that's mainly just typing. That's like AI as workbook. Is that cheating? I dunno. Does an AI generated outline help you? Or do you just skip the thinking that would have created the details of your story? Hard to say.
AI in stage 3: The wildest version of using AI in the creation of fiction, and there are whole subreddits for it. This is the people who are constructing novels scene by scene by telling AI to write it for them to their specifications and then "heavily editing" the result. So they are ostensibly doing stage 1, 2, and 4 themselves, and are outsourcing stage 3, the hard graft. Though I'd be very surprised if they aren't also using AI for stage 4, but let's assume they aren't.
Stage 3 is the only part of writing process that is protected by copyright, so it's a weird one to outsource. It's also the stage, in my experience, where you do micro-discovery, the in-the-moment scene details and the actual, living emotional experience of your story that you can't completely capture in outline. So if you just animate your outline without living through the story with your characters, it's always going to feel emotionally 30,000 feet in the air, I think. Right? If you feed AI an outline, that's what you'd get. i think doing this is just avoiding doing the most intimate and immediate discovery process of creating a story, and I don't think that serves the story or the writer (or "writer").
I'm intrigued that people think you can do this and it makes sense. You'd have to believe that the writing process is simply describing the contents of your outline, but I don't think that's true. It's like trying to get from the twelfth floor to the first floor by skipping the stairs, the elevator or the escalator and just leaping into the air assuming you'll land just fine because those intermediary systems are just time-wasters anyway.
I've read some arguments that using AI for stage 3 is something people with disabilities need to get their stories out into the world. As a neurodivergent person, I think that's short-sighted and is a disservice to those stories. I'm pretty sure it's just skipping the work of living through the emotional through line of the story and just not making all the little decisions and constructing the tiny details that go into the telling of a story. That's a heck of a missing staircase. Outlines aren't stories. Skipping the writing part means you're missing 2/3rds of the discovery, and therefore 2/3rds of the richness and depth of the story. How does that serve disabled voices? I don't buy it.
AI in stage 4: the one that looks innocuous but is actually dangerous. Dumping your work into AI and having it fix everything for you. This is a bad idea. Dump your work in there if you want to, but have it tell you what it's finding that needs adjustment so you can make decisions about it yourself. Copying and pasting out of an AI engine means you aren't making decisions about it, you're deferring decisions to a machine. That's the fastest way possible to erase your own voice. I can see getting it to flag things it has questions about, but taking AI advice on your writing is way too trusting.
I think this is especially dangerous for writers who don't have confidence in their own voice. AI's voice may seem like a better chose to them, and that's really sad.
I have more to say about AI, but this is more than enough for now.

I agree with you. But I think it's possible to hold this ideological stance while feeling the petty human emotions that come in these trying times. Our feelings do not have to dictate our ideology.
I think people are having these reactions to force themselves to be distant from the amount of human suffering we're about to see as a self defense mechanism.
I think everyone deserves to live, to have food, shelter, security, and happiness. I don't want anyone to die. That said, I'm not going to let myself shed any tears over Trump voters, third party voters, and willful nonvoters. There's too many other people that deserve my empathy and compassion first. I voted for their rights just as I did for everyone, and I will continue to do so. I might even take in some schadenfreude because I'm human and I'm petty.
Saying that this is the same as labeling a group of people as people who deserve to die feels like a conflation, and also very unfair to the complexity of the emotions people are going through right now.
This is so funny now im seeing people talking abt "imperfect allies" and how we can't afford recriminations and "i told you so"s and how we need to really come together and build community now.
It's too little too late. Oh NOW we want to talk abt imperfect allies, when earlier you called me a zionist cunt who deserves to die for DARING to suggest that kamala would be a better president for marginalized people in this country? NOW we need to look past differences and embrace our shared humanity?
No. You just need my labor again, you just need black and jewish and women and trans labor to do all the hard work of building a backbone of aid and solidarity again, because you're feeling the loneliness and vulnerability of a fractured, losing movement.

My Personal Headcanon On Why Amy's Love For Sonic Died Down Lately (and their dynamic)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When they were younger, Amy's love for Sonic was pretty extreme, and Sonic was, understandable, uncomfortable for the most part. He knows she means well, but that girl needs to calm down.
She can fight, but sometimes her hammer could only stun her enemies for a while. (It took her a long time to get rid of that robot that has been chasing her around Station Square.) She wasn't fully independent yet, even if she fought on her own a couple of times.
She often follows Sonic and his friends around. She is part of the team, but she was not a strong as she is now at the time yet.
She admires Sonic. A LOT. And Sonic knows that. Obviously, he could only run away from something like that, since he is NOT ready for that kind of thing, and whether Amy takes the hint or stop, she still loves him.
...BUT, I think things were slightly starting to change between her and Sonic after Lost World.
Remember this line?
Tumblr media
You remember that? Okay, okay. Here's another totally unrelated question:
Before the events of Lost World, when was the last time Amy said "I love you" to Sonic out loud?
...YEP. 😈 (Unless I'm missing something, let me know lmao)
As more games and adventures come out, the characters get slightly older, and Amy is 12 to 13 now, and she is most certainly at that age where her body starts to change, but especially on how she views Sonic.
She knows she loves Sonic, but it was this moment during her change where she actually wanted to admit that she loves him.
I believe that Amy was all about sharing her affection to him not through confessions, but through obvious hints. Sonic totally got it, and there was no need to confess. Sonic knows she loves her.
...But she never said it. And she almost did, but she never did again for a while.
I think this was the moment in her life where, oh, God, she actually loves Sonic. SHE LOVES HIM, WHAT.
And she was looking back at all the times she had with Sonic that she can now see were unpleasant to Sonic (At least that's what she thinks) and that's probably why she isn't so expressive about her love to him than how she used to back then.
She wasn't sure what to do with this realization, and sets aside it for a while, and nearly stayed as her casual, peppy self... until the Eggman War happened.
Tumblr media
During the 6 months of being with the Resistance, fighting Eggman's army all day and all night, all she can think of was Sonic.
She dreams that he still with not just her, but with her friends. She just wanted to see Sonic again, she just wants to be with her hero again.
But I'd like to think that she was also thinking about how she used to treat Sonic back when they were younger, how Sonic would almost always run away from her whenever she asks him out, or always look so uncomfortable whenever she gets so close to him.
Cringing at those memories big time, she wanted to change and hopefully when Sonic is okay and comes back, she can be better for him.
...Or will he still find her uncomfortable regardless? Would he even be happy to see her at all if he did survive?
But, hold on! She can't just give up her love for Sonic! He made her who she is today! A peppy, nature-loving, hammer-swinging, confident, brave... loud-mouth... annoying... Sonic obsessed... weak... pathetic... lonely little girl.
If she gives up on Sonic, it'll be like she gave up on the one hedgehog who saved her life. If she didn't she'll still be the same ol' Amy.
I also like to think she had parents a long while before she met Sonic, and was even expecting a little sister, but a robot invasion happened from where she was and attacked her parents and instead of trying to save them, after getting hurt, she ran away, hoping that they'll come back okay. But they never did.
She was all alone, and needed someone, a friend, a new family, someone who will hold her hand, anyone, to be there for her. But she was ignored by lots, and at that point, she's better off by herself, but still longed for company.
Eventually though, her tarot cards told her her future hero, and there might be hope after all. She encountered Sonic, held onto the belief of the cards tight, and the rest is history.
So, with that headcanon in mind, not only did Amy loose her parents that she didn't save because of her cowardliness (she was only so little at the time that happened) and also Sonic, who she thought will be her only hope, but now gone.
She doesn't even care if he did come back, he'd probably hate her now after everything she did to him, always talking about their "future wedding" or forcing him to go to Twinkle Park.
For the last few months of the war, it was nothing but Amy mentally beating herself up for either refusing to change or moving on, and they are both not fine choices.
She loves Sonic, but he does not love her, and she finally, finally realized it. And it's probably for the best if no body loved her at all.
But of course Sonic did survive and all of her worries wash away in an instant, she's just not expressive about her love for Sonic AT ALL now, since she's still worried about it but rather not mention it to Sonic because it doesn't matter.
If Sonic doesn't love her, then her feelings don't matter to him, and according to Amy herself, that is okay.
Tumblr media
But also, I'd like to think that Sonic was thinking about his friends a lot up in the Death Egg for the past months, sometimes it's Tails (worried for his safety), sometimes it's Shadow (because he's wondering why he would join Eggman.) At some point, for a few days, Amy was in his mind the longest, and he felt bad about how he thought he was rude and pushy to her.
He wondered if she's not thinking about it too much, and if she is, will she give up on him? Yeah, he doesn't feel the same and still not looking for a relationship, but it's so strange but interesting how anyone could ever like someone like Sonic the Hedgehog. Amy was never afraid to show that, and she probably might be now.
He couldn't help but feel guilty. They were kids when she was like this, but he was so... arrogant at the time too. Not a lot happened at the time yet. He'd always have trouble expressing how much he value his friends, until he shattered the Paradox Prism. (I'd like to think Prime took place before Forces. It makes sense.)
She is such a sweet girl, and he probably made her believe that he didn't care for her. Just because he doesn't feel the same, that doesn't mean he hates her at all.
He wished he never ran away from Amy... Worrying for his little bro and wishing to be a good person for Amy was when Sonic cried in the Death Egg for the first and only time.
Tumblr media
Frontiers, in my opinion, is kind of confirming their dynamic now. Sonic is a lot more sincere and kinder to Amy and she is not all hyperactive and lovey to Sonic. There is probably a real reason for this now.
They are both hiding their feelings from them, and they are both unaware of this. Amy, hiding her mental issues from Sonic, and Sonic, hiding his guilt away from Amy.
None of those things are important now. Sonic is with Amy and Amy is with Sonic. They are here with each other. They can be finally be better for each other now.
They don't care if they'll ever be something more when they get older. None of that matters anymore. They are here with each other. They can be finally be better for each other now.
Tumblr media
Maybe someday they'll both talk about it, but for now, the present is important. They care about each other too much to think about it right now.
It's the kind of love that is unbreakable. It doesn't even have to be romantic. It's just love. Love is important for everyone, in any form. It's something Sonic and his friends need. And especially Sonic and Amy.
Amy Rose is the living embodiment of love, and without her, a lot would go downhill for Sonic and co. Heck, if it weren't for her, Shadow wouldn't have never remembered Maria's promise, which lead him to save the world with Sonic, before he temporarily disappeared from their lives for a while.
She is always there to lend a helping hand for anybody, even bad guys like Metal Sonic, and despite what she had been through, both in Forces and headcanon wise, she still fights back, even without her hammer.
She will pick you back up on your feet, reminding you that you are important and that you are loved, and that you should never give up. It's pretty much the words of encouragement she herself needed also...
She is still the happy, hyper, butt-kicking hedgehog we all know and love, but she still need someone to pick her back up on her feet after so long. Thankfully, she has her friends and her blue hero. The hero who made her who she is today.
I think Amy has no idea how important she thought she is, but Sonic does. Sonic knows fully well how important she is to a lot of people. It's about time he returns the favor to her. It's his turn to remind her how much a lot of people love her.
How much he loves her.
And I feel like The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog was the moment where their dynamic really shined, but also the starting point of their relationship not only healing, but also the next chapter of what's to come for them.
Everyone, friends old and new, gathered around for a special birthday. A birthday for the confident, unshakable, and radiant Amy Rose.
It was such a special moment in Amy's life. After years of chasing and following the people she look up to, she is part of the team, but most importantly, she is part of the family.
She is fully realized as someone more than just a fangirl, but someone strong, courageous, creative, kind and a big inspiration for others.
I feel like this moment here...
Tumblr media
-is where Amy is eternally grateful to call her friends her family. A family she thought she'll never have again. She's not alone anymore, and as long as they're by her side, she'll never will be again.
Her chasing days are over. She's finally caught up to them. She's finally home.
And it's all thanks to Sonic.
If it weren't for him, she'd probably be alone forever. Her past moments with Sonic might be embarrassing to look back on for a while, but they are good memories regardless, because they involve him.
Sonic saved her life in more ways than one, and despite everything, he's grateful to have her too.
He cares about her. He really does... And in her eyes, that all she needed to know. As long as Sonic loves her in his own way, she'll be happy.
Amy hasn't given up on Sonic. As long as Amy always supports him, he'll be happy.
Maybe sometime in the future, they can talk about their problems, but that's a story for another time. At this point, they need to. Right now, they are happy. They are okay.
They are here for each other. They are finally better for each other now.
"You guys won't ever leave me, right?"
"Wouldn't dream of it."
#piko rambles#sonic the hedgehog#amy rose#Meant to be platonic but I don't care if you tag as ship lol#I've been meaning to post something like this for the longest time now but never really got into posting it-#-because you guys REALLY hate seeing these two together for some reason.#Well not for SOME reason. There are valid reasons why you don't ship them. Everyone has valid reason why they don't ship this or that.#But sometimes those reasons can just sound so petty to me. Like the reason why is because Amy is a stalker or Sonic hates her which is FALS#Also those age gap arguments are understandable but so goddamn annoying sometimes. Maybe when they hit their late teens or early twenties-#then they can be together if they want to. Besides a good percentage of Sonic ships are better off if they waited til they're old enough im#I love them regardless of whether they're just friends or an awkward older cringe fail couple lmao#But them being just friends and hiding away all their emotions towards each other just to keep them safe and happy with them- 😭😭😭#Son/adow is my favorite ship of all time and sonamy is my favorite childhood ship/platonic ship because they both have one thing in common.#ANGST 😀#I've been thinking about Sonic and Amy's dynamic as of late and MAN-#Mixed with some personal headcanons of mine and their dynamic as of late just makes me so emotional.#Sonic and Amy have gotten so close now and it's so sweet but so heartbreaking at the same time when you think about it.#I'm so happy they are getting along better and being there for each other but there is so much to dissect here. So much to think about.#I might be a little silly but Amy losing her parents and being alone for so long and being the reason why she's always hanging onto Sonic-#-explains SOOOOOOOOO much about her. At least that's my headcanon for WHY that is.#Amy with abandonment issues speaks to me on a personal level. I'm always afraid of being forgotten or left behind by my family.#I sometimes feel like I'm not good enough no matter how hard I try. I do not blame Amy. I relate to her a lot. It's one of the many reasons#-why Amy is my favorite character besides Sonic and Shadow.#She fights hard to prove she's a valuable member of the team and hates getting left behind but despite all that she wasn't afraid to-#-express herself and her love for people. But after the Eggman War there was some changes that made her less expressive about her love.#Yeah she still loves Sonic but she doesn't admit it because none of that matters anymore and she thought that not being loved by Sonic#-is better than being loved since she nearly wasted her life loving someone who she thought has constantly bothered. 🥲#But I think after TMoStH I think she'll be less afraid of being expressive about it. She and Sonic are just so caring for each other 😭#I love these two way too much that when I think about them for too long I'll start SOBBING 😭😭 I'M EVEN SOBBING RIGHT NOW LMAO

the muscles of lily's jaw become tense at james' reminder , forcing the rest of her body to not flinch at the sore recollection of any and every time she had been branded as anything but a witch. ❝ i certainly do , you are right . ❞ no matter how the single word never affected lily ( for she knew where she belonged in this world ) , she knew of james' character and how they weighed the responsibility of seeking justice on their back no matter the strain . that thought alone surges an unfamiliar pang in her chest - ❝ i would like to think there are countless more wixen out there that think the same as us , but we've - ❞ whatever the order of the phoenix was now ; disorganized and small . ❝ if they're organizing now , we should too , no ? you acting alone is not productive . ❞ nor safe , lily wants to say because as much as she would like to join in the fight , she did not have the same defensive training that james did . she knew the basics, but it would not get her far if there was a match . there , the pang twists and churns in the middle of chest once more as it begged for relief . when the two were head girl and head boy at hogwarts , the trouble was as mundane as discovering students breaking rules but now , it was terribly different stakes . ❝ i could never tell if you chased trouble like an old friend or if it always found you , ❞ she says with an ease only james could provide , even if they one of the greatest sources of affliction too . the nostalgia provides that very relief lily needed , eyes crinkling at the memories of how younger her had always worked herself up at the most odd things . ❝ and you wondered why i spent so many years exasperated by your presence . ❞ lily banters , recounting the numerous times she would complain about james , about their arrogance, their foolishness and everything else in between . the two were so opposite that it seemingly appeared the two were made to balance each other . ❝ not that i did anything to get out of her good graces , but i digress . it was absolutely infuriating to witness your charms work on her too . ❞ his gaze holds her tenderly for a long moment, the quick pick of her breathing forced to match theirs almost suddenly, especially now that her hand is cradled in his. even if there was still a part of her mind that was still plagued with paranoia, lily felt compelled to believe them. just sitting here did lily finally feel the safest she had felt for the previous hour . he had even thought of her best friend , lily thinks to herself , the one person she had promised to never leave their side and suddenly , she's sitting in the flat that belonged to another person that lily spent too much denying feelings for . ❝ - what ? ❞ her consciousness brings her back to the present , the charm he had on her suddenly vanished even if lily still didn't remove her hand from his . ❝ what kind of fireplace ? ❞ she asks , already feeling the laugh fall off her lips before they answer . lily felt bad for even drawing her thoughts away from her friends so fast , but james was looking at her with the upmost seriousness and - ❝ an electric fireplace ? ❞ she enunciated, only realizing what they meant to say when lily tore her gaze away and saw it on the other side of the room . no wonder if it felt colder in here - ❝ while i'm not particularly sure it'd support floo regardless, you haven't got it connected. a little power and you'd be able to have your cloak back.❞
Tumblr media
Lily doesn’t flinch, but James senses the change in her anyway, attuned to so many of the nuances of her emotions after nearly eight years spent in her orbit (waiting, wanting). Perhaps he shouldn't have brought up the past, not when the memory of it clearly still hurts her, but in spite of everything else that's transpired between the pair of them, it's Snape's slander of Lily's character and subsequent betrayal of her trust that he finds most unforgivable. As if something so trivial as blood would make her anything less than... well, everything. "I hope you're right," he says with a frown, raking a hand through the dark tangle of his hair, "But if there are others like us, where the hell are they? Because, right now, the Order's never felt smaller."
“Bit of both, maybe?” James suggests with a laugh, “I think we might be made for each other - trouble and me, I mean.” But the other thing, too. What had started as a silly crush, a childish game to amuse himself, has long-since developed into something he has no hope of ever coming back from. Really, he should've known better - when has he ever done anything by halves? How could he ever have thought he'd be able to walk away from her with his heart still his own? "What, you mean you didn't find my endless smart-alecking and showing off charming? Evans, I'm shocked." It's behind them now, ancient history, but with the unpleasant side effect of ruining his chances with her forever. It would have been a fitting punishment, and well-deserved, had Lily not seen fit to grant him the chance to earn her friendship instead. Her capacity for forgiveness astounds him, sometimes.
For a moment there is silence, punctuated only by distant London traffic and the faint whisper of skin-on-skin as James runs his thumb back and forth across the palm of Lily's hand, hoping the gesture will reassure her, if his words aren't enough. In the end, it's his failure to internalise muggle vocabulary that brings a smile back to her face, and that's more than okay with him. "That's what I said," James says, blowing past his mistake with an airy wave of his free hand, "I dunno about leaving these things plugged in, though. I read in Muggle Studies that elektrikicity can cause fires, and I wouldn't want my flat to burn down - I'd lose my deposit, for starters." A quick glance around said flat reveals that none of James's appliances are actually plugged in. The fridge is kept cold with a glacius charm, his kettle is the kind you heat on the stovetop, and even his record player is a portable one. Magical solutions are just more convenient, and the fact that turning on the fireplace would mean Lily giving him his cloak back has nothing to do with it.

If I'm honest, the whole "love in every stitch" saying for fiber artists does not apply to me, like. I'm trying to get this fucking hook into stubborn yarn and I'll be stabbing it like it owed me money. Is that love because I hope not 😭💀
#art#crochet#honestly the closest thing i feel to love when crocheting is this feeling that this is bigger than me if that makes sense...#...i think it'sthe feeling of knowing how old the craft itself is and knowing that millions of people have done the same as you...#...millions of people have stabbed their crochet hook into the yarn because it's stubborn but so are you...#...millions of people in the past have sat and devoted their time and effort into all of this...#...millions of people have passed on this knowledge and kept this thing alive...#...and it's the feeling of knowing that humans across millenia aren't THAT different#to our core we are more or less similar - across the ages across the colours across everything. that really comforts and humbles me#have you looked up ancient textiles? because that also sparks these emotions in me#it makes me think about the tupes of people to make the textile but also about who wore it#and so many of them are still beautiful and colourful and it shows you SO MUCH about the people who made them#even the ones that are tattered and faded and stripped of colour still feel beautiful...#...because it has SURVIVED. it is evidence of a people who made it and a people who had technical skills#and THIS is why i HATE HATE HATE the idea that ancient people were just 'dumb' and 'uneducated'#that is so unfair to them and cruel and just. wrong. (and often it reeks of white supremacy)#i'm sorry i rant and rave about this so much but i canNOT be normal about this. i can't be normal about humanity#i am learning to love humanity and learn about us and learn everything and it'll never be enough - i will never know enough#i will never know everything about everybody and it will be the death of me#okay the only thing i liked about the greatest showman movie was Never Enough because that is me thinking about all this

MAN I'm seriously so sad about season 2. Bc I wish act 2 had the same emotional impact on me as it appears to have on so many others. But rn I'm just somewhere between unable to care and actively annoyed by some of those writing decisions. Seriously the more I think about it the less I like it.
#act 3 come through please 🙏#I don't think it can salvage some of the things I have contentions with but still... please...#don't ask me about the silco vander flashback with jinxs + vis mom#or the bizzare choice to do so much of the storytelling through this weird music video format they've got going on#completely stripping it of the weight these plot beats could've had if they were... normal scenes#and also missing the point of how the music was used in season 1 and what made it so effective#bc it was complementary to instead of replacing the storytelling#seriously don't ask me about these things I will spontaneously implode on the spot#whyyyyy would they recontextualize season 1 like this with that flashback#to me it kind of ruins the character dynamics and themes in s1. it just makes me so sad you have no idea#also what even are they doing with Jinx rn for real#aaarghhhh just... so many things that are making me scratch my head#also I'm so terribly sorry but I could not care less about Isha sorry lol#like i get that its sad conceptually but she was such a non-character that i struggle to feel impacted at all#same with sky tbh. i thought her role in s1 was alright but there is so much emotional weight put on her now#in terms of her relationship to Viktor but that was barely established so it's weird to have her around#and clearly you're supposed to care but they haven't given me much reason to#isha and sky were non-characters just there to die to further the development of other characters#they didn't really have anything going on on their own and that's just a type of character and plot device that does nothing for me#also i thought the war between zaun and piltover + internal struggles in zaun bc silcos gone would be the main focus#but that stuff seems so sidetracked rn#also sorry i dont like what they did with vander and warwick either. that man should've stayed dead lol#it honestly just makes his death feel less impactful and i dont know what this is supposed to do for the story or the themes???#that just feels like a pointless plotline that is taking up time that could've been spent on other things#i just... i could go on like this for a while like there are so many things that just puzzle me#it's so weird considering how tight and thematically consistent season 1 was#let's see where act 3 goes but... i kinda have a bad feeling about it ngl#obv im glad others are enjoying it and this is just my opinion! also a lot of this are probs just my personal tastes anyway#arcane spoilers

When I did this, I had listened to a lot of "uptown funk" because I had just discovered this song at that time, and just the energy of the song made me feel great. But today I learn that this song is the song Alan chose for his own funeral and I feel so many emotions at the same time. Unfortunately, being in different cultures causes me to understand some information later. I'm very emotional right now, but I promise I will do another study on this and it will be much better than before.🥲.

Yes, I've been listening to a bit too much 'uptown funk' these days.

Yuma's unshakable trust in Astral makes me cry every time
#Yuma doesn't even think twice about jumping in and defending Astral every time#He just trusts Astral so much#When Mr. Heartland said that Astral was a bad guy Yuma immediately got angry and started defending Astral#and also with Luna he talked in defense of Astral#and even when Astral started to have doubts about himself Yuma was quick to reassure him#because he knows that Astral is a good person#and no one will change his mind#Yuma is like “Yes I know that Astral is weird and arrogant and sometimes makes no sense but he's a good person and I'm sure of it”#He has no idea about what the Numbers are but he knows Astral and that is enough for him to know that they can't be completely bad#and he is sure that Astral will never misuses them because he knows Astral better than anyone and he trusts him!#he trusts him even when Astral doesn't trust himself#and Yuma's trust is so important to Astral#he remembers so little about himself and doesn't know what he really is but Yuma cares so much about him#to the point that even his “baseless confidence” is enough to reassure Astral#because Yuma's power of believing in people is one of the things that Astral admires and loves the most about Yuma#and Yuma believing in him gives Astral hope that he will be alright#Astral even said that Yuma believing in him without hesitation made him happy#These two make me feel too many emotions#they are everything to me#I will probably talk about these scenes in future posts because I love them#but for now I wanted to have all of them in the same spot#I love this manga so much I want to talk about every scenes of it#(and seeing how much manga posts I have in my drafts that is likely to happen)#astral zexal#astral yugioh#yuma tsukumo#yugioh zexal#yu gi oh zexal#ygo zexal#zexal

Pain is being an ulquihime shipper but having to block/avoid most of them because they are weirdly anti-Orihime, anti-bleach ending, or "anti how Kubo wrote Orihime" even though she's one of the most consistently and well-written female characters in Shounen as well as the fact that they try to make Ulquiorra care more about Orihime than he actually did in the manga or even god forbid try to say that Ulquiorra cared more about Orihime than Ichigo did.
#rainbow talking#bleach#orihime inoue#ulquiorra cifer#I'm tired i'm so tired this is suffering#this is what suffering looks like#i'm screaming into the void rn bc like#you dont have to woobify or babygirl-ify Ulquiorra#ulquiorra shiffer#Ulquihime works so well because it's someone who has no emotions and someone who wears her heart on her sleeve#He didn't truly care about Orihime until he was dying and realized what it meant to have a heart#that's also part of what makes the ship so tragic#he finally discovered the meaning and answer but wasn't able to appreciate it fully#idk if any other ulquihime shipper feels this way#probably just me considering the current state of the fandom but ugghhhh#its so hard to enjoy a ship when it is so painfully clear people don't like the other half of it#like many of them don't actually like Orihime with Ulquiorra they like THEIR IDEA OF ORIHIME with Ulquiorra#and I understand fanon =/= canon#and im not gunna sit here and say fanart and theories and analysis have to be fully lore accurate#but it is painfully obvious some of you are taking the worst possible interpretation#of Orihime as a character and twisting Ichigo into someone who didn't actually care bout Orihime to that degree#while at the same time shipping him with R**** and Orihime with Ulquiorra#i normally dont censor character names but I did this time since it ain't entirely her fans... but sadly a lot of them are#like “”Ulquirra tried to protect Orihime from Ichigo“” no he didn't#he knew about her powers for rejection and planted the seed of doubt that she couldn't heal him#hell EVEN HE questions who tf that is when Ichigo rises in his VL state#as far as he was concerned Ichigo was dead as a doorknob
