But then, this chapter was a reminder of how terrifying Obscuary are, even if they don't want to be the way they are. XD I was pretty messed out by this chapter ngl.

I made a little something that you feed your card data into and then it spits out which sin and which card you should focus on for leveling

Below the cut is an explanation on to use it! If you have any more questions not already answered below, leave a comment on here or send me an ask! I'll do my best to help you once I have the time to

CURRENT TEAM VS DREAM TEAM

CURRENT TEAM

your three strongest demon cards + your three strongest memory cards of each sin (aka your top 3!) -> head to Contacts, filter for only one attribute and sort by strength to get your top 3 demon cards, then repeat for your memory cards. Rinse and repeat for every attribute If one character shows up multiple times in your top 3 demon cards, only count his strongest card and ignore the rest!

DREAM TEAM

the cards you want to use in the long-run. Ideally they should all be either UR or UR+ cards

HOW TO ENTER YOUR CARD DATA

Head to the sheet called 'card data'. Here you'll find seven charts that are all colored differently depending on what sin they are for

First off, each chart is divided into the following sections:

[1] dream team demon cards

[2] dream team memory cards

[3] current team demon cards

[4] current team memory cards

Here's a quick run-down on all you need to know, but I'll also be going over it step by step a bit further below:

CARD enter who the demon card is of, or any name you associate with your memory card

TOP 3? if it's one of your three strongest cards, check the box; you don't need to re-enter the relevant data below if this box is checked. If it's not, enter the card data of one of your current team cards below it

MAX SIN UP? have you unlocked all of the Devil's Tree sin ups that you can get at your current skill level? If so, check the box

LEVEL enter your card's level

SKILL enter your card's skill level

STRENGTH enter your card's overall strength; sort by 'strenght' in Contacts to get this value

CARD, STRENGTH same as above, this for your current team. Only enter the card data if needed

STEP BY STEP

1. Figure out what cards you want to use in the long run; In my case, that would be Lucifer, Satan and Asmodeus

2. Head to Contacts in the game, select an attribute and sort by 'strength' to determine your three strongest cards

3. Go to the correspinding chart on the spreadsheet. Pick the characters in your dream team from the drop-down menu. The order you enter them in doesn't matter

Check the box for 'top 3?' if they are also one of your three strongest cards. If not, enter the card from the current team below

Your chart should then look something like this:

4. If you have unlocked all the sin ups in the Devil's Tree that you can get with your current skill level, check this box

5. Enter the displayed overall card strength and the current skill level. Click on the card to see its level current level, and then enter that as well

6. Repeat the process for your memory cards

Once you're done, the chart should look something like this:

8. Once you're done, head to the sheet 'rec & ranking'

RANKING & RECOMMENDATION

RANKING

just a little ranking to show you how your sins are doing because I thought it'd be cool to have :] Keep in mind that it can't properly display ties tho! You'll have to enter all card data for it to work properly

RECOMMENDATION

The recommendation will tell you what order you should level your sins in, what cards you should level, what level and skill level to raise them to, and if you should work on its Devil's Tree first

But first, you need to configure the settings for your recommendation. You can choose

if you want demon and memory cards to be displayed seperately (overwritten only if you choose to display all sins)

how many sins should be displayed

if your current team should be factored into, or if it should be based purely on your dream team

Personally, I'd recommend going with seperated, display all sins (weakest to strongest), and to factor the current team in, but you can change it around to what best fits your needs

New Card Update! (Release is September 11th)

So we have our first pairing card?!?!?! That's pretty neat. And good news f2p/budget folks, we can summon them with Greater Keys. I've been hoarding those things for a while so I'm pretty prepared to spend a whole bunch.

I'm glad about this because we get those keys so easily, there's FINALLY a use for them (greater keys are the gold ones btw for newbies to the game)

I forgot what S+ includes but from what it's saying, we get special voicelines, Sitri looks damn good in that new outfit of his. Also??? Sitri gets upset when Amy gets hurt???

Ohhhhhhhh this is going to be interesting.

Looking forward to seeing what this card is gonna be about and what our bois can do on the battlefield!

My problem with Twisted Wonderland

As someone who used to consistently play every single day for months, I've got a lot of issues. Let me preface this by saying I know nothing I'm saying will change the game and how it runs, I just want to come here and rant about the game I used to love.

Rant below the cut

My biggest problem is how grindy the game is, especially as a strict f2p player.

As someone who's never spent money on the game, it is so easy to tell how much of a cash grab the game is. The people that work on the game care about it I'm sure, but it is so hard to do anything in this game.

It's hard to get SSR cards, not only because the Gacha system is hella fucked up, but because it's hard to get enough gems to get pulls. Yeah we've got weekly and the logins, but that's so not enough unless you save for a card months in advance.

When you're a new player they give you some leeway, lots of free stuff because all the easy missions are meant for that, but as you get further and further into the game it's extremely hard to get even a 10 pull unless you're on the game basically 24/7.

As someone who is rank 72- and again, played almost religiously for months- it's hard to enjoy the game.

And I know as the story goes on it's meant to be harder, but because of how little they give you it's hard to get past the story as it goes on. It's hard leveling cards up, especially the spells.

It would be nicer if they gave you more materials or gems, that would make all the grind worth it, but that's not how it is. Hell, even events barely give you any pulls and yet they expect you to spend hours doing lessons to unlock the chapters and leveling up the free cards. Someone who's f2p (in my and my friends experience) will find it hard to get motivation to continue playing.

I want to continue playing, I love the characters and the story, but it's so hard to level up cards, or get pulls, that it breaks my heart and makes me want to not continue because I know I won't ever get that card I want, that I won't be able to get past this chapter, that I won't be able to finish an event fully because of the system.

It's so obvious they don't care about f2p's because reruns and even some event banners are strictly p2p things. Rerun banners require special keys that are pay-walled, event banners like the anime expo ones or special non-event related ones are pay-walled, THEY'RE ALL PAY-WALLED.

To me it is extremely frustrating to know that the developers don't seem to care about the fan base at all.

I mentioned earlier about the Gacha system, which I find really, REALLY dumb. 100 pulls for a guaranteed SSR? 200 needed for the event SSR? That's so dumb! Even if you were p2p you'd have to have some extreme luck to get an event card before at least 70 (which it's hard to get if you're far in game and f2p). In my experience, all the event cards I have that are SSR's (WHICH IS 2 BTW, ive been playing since idia's groom event and only have TWO EVENT CARDS EVEN WITH CONSTANT GRIND) I had to do over 70-80 pulls for and spent weeks grinding for. Not to mention pity doesn't carry over to other banners.

Speaking of events, I swear to god the events are getting shorter and shorter every time. The Stitch event that just passed? I swear it only lasted 3-4 weeks, banners ended way too quickly for any f2p that wasn't saving to pull without extreme luck to get any SSR card, got forbid the event exclusive ones. I got like 25 pulls during that event and 10 of those were because it was Kalim's birthday. It's extremely dumb and next thing you know it events will be lasting only a week or two and you're probably fucked over.

Anyways, that's basically all I have to say. There are a lot of things that frustrate me, like how they do events and some characters stuff, but I can't bother to put it here because I'm not as pressed about that stuff as I am about the stuff I did talk about.

I'm aware that people probably won't read this, but it's nice to get off my chest y'know? I'm going to continue to play the game, but I'll never play as constantly as I did when I first started because it's so hard to play and find motivation for it anymore.

Updated the thing. Hoyo is still testing my patience with many questionable writing and desing choices but running around with my friends in co-op and doing silly little tasks and quests is calming me after long days of work so..yeah

"Why does Hoyo only listen to CN players"

Well our boycotts of Twitter hashtags, change.org petitions and going f2p are pretty much harmless, and won't really affect the game that much, and most people will forget about it when they have a shiny new toy to play with.

Compared to the fact that CN players have doxxed Hoyo employees, threatened their lives, sued them for fraud and I'm pretty sure Da Wei almost got killed over Hi3's bunny girl controversy.

People forget that CN Genshin players actually have very easy access to Hoyoverse's home base and can cause, actual, physical harm to them and their employees.

This isn't a sign that people should doxx Hoyo's employees or try any assassination attempts against Da Wei btw.

This is not a "so you're saying we should doxx the employees" Do. Not. Do. That... That's scumbag behavior, and putting people's lives at risk just for a game is fucking despicable behavior.

Is Hoyo's colourism an issue? Yes.

Do they deserve the backlash for it. Hell yeah.

Is potentially risking the lives of their employees and their families by doxxing them a sane thing to do? Hell. Fucking. NO!

Also if you're boycotting Hoyo, don't just stop sending in Genshin.

Like, it means literally nothing if you stop sending on Genshin but go send on ZZZ, HSR and Hi3... instead.... they're owned by the same company... If you're not giving them money from GI, you're still giving them money from their other games. Like, it's going to be the same source in the end.

i don't get the panic over og obey me potentially going eos soon bc like... it was bound to happen the day they teased a new app? that's... usually how it goes... or maybe i'm just showing how many games i've witnessed going eos... (plus we don't even know if it's even going to eos soon, i doubt it will this year, at least)

this going full drive too with the release of the story archive feature on nb is kinda funny too bc like... i hope some of ya'll know that the feature is... a good thing?? og obey me is infamously p2w especially in further seasons bc of the low rate of gaining devil points, especially compared to nb. take it from me (and i'm not even f2p on og), i'm still very much stuck on mid s3 bc of the difficulty spike so the archive is literally the only way i'll get to read the later lessons without having to rely on online archives by fans.

don't take this as me saying nb is perfect, btw — there are A LOT of valid criticisms for the app, but the constant minor QoL updates they release now and then lead me to believe they at least know what they need to improve on (major point i have for this being the bday events— i genuinely really do love the new way they're tackling it while not taking away from pop quiz events)

anyways, all this to say... yes you can be upset!! i know people who have literally spent thousands of dollars on the og game, and it would be REALLY NICE to have at least some of that effort transferred onto nb (maybe they can implement a different game mode where you can use both nb and og cards? think challenge lives from proseka where you can use multiple cards of the same character to increase affection, gain rewards, etc... idk?) (and that's also why responding to surveys when they pop up is also important, btw — let the devs know what you want!) , but causing unecessary panic and discourse in the community literally only serves to push away any interest in the game
