This was something I drew around.. February? March? I don't remember, I have a horrible sense of the passage of time

Basically this is just a scene I drew out for my SCP fanfic, which I was planning to include inside the fic itself, but unfortunately Ao3 kept insisting that it's too big and therefore couldn't be included. I was bummed out and just forgot to share it. So here it is now!

But even then I opened up the next Dragon's Lair file for the first time this year. It's been, rough.

To condense: got a job, several actually (freelance + full time), worked myself to the bone for over a year, even tho i now only have the full time job I'm out of all energy and motivation.

This dumb little sketch is the first digital piece I've done for myself all year. Been trying to figure out the main dragon design for DL for years now.

Well, this one came to me in a cloud

I know it's been a while form the fact that a) my browser did not recognize tumblr just from me typing in the letter T into the url box and b) i was logged out. I truly never intended to leave, and even though I work in my preferred career, yeesh.

To be frank my mental health also crumbled into fine dust. I won't go into it further than that but know that I'm slowly clawing my way back. My employment will end on the 13th of Sep after which I'm taking a longer break to crawl my way to Shop's side and restore myself as much as I can.

Anyway, big preesh to y'all for still coming to my blog and liking and reblogging and commenting on my works. It truly means the world to me <3

i would like to say my ideal PJO adaptation (if i was being physically forced against my will to have to pick a live action adaptation over an animated one for some reason) would be a combo like writing of the musical + casting of the show + visuals of the movies

BUT the show actually does have the playwright for the musical as one of the major writers for like three episodes and that did nothing for it. so...

Having learned that Liberal has a very different meaning in Europe vs the US suddenly makes a lot of confusing posts on the internet make sense.

Like the fact that what in the states means "mildly left leaning, at worst guilty of putting on a show of leftism without following through and occasional fence-sitting like centrists just to their right" means "hard right wing conservative" is really confusing.

I wonder how these terms came to describe such very different groups of people?

NR chapter 69 is halfway (ish) done!! Or maybe more, my goal is 10k words lol but I'm going to find a good stopping point rather than an arbitrary word count. Just not sure when the natural stopping point is yet

Kinda struggling with the lack of action. It's hard to just gloss over the character's internal struggles during the last tour of tethe'alla before the final seal... and I love writing character interactions but I worry that it gets stale for the reader ;_; it's going to be a total shitshow once they get to the tower of mana but I just need to... GET THERE...

Also Brit's birthday falls on this chapter which makes me cackle because I'm immature

So...my super unpopular opinion right now: I don't hate season 4 of Umbrella Academy.

I think perhaps it's because I'm Ye Olde fandom participant now and just think that it's genuinely not that serious.

Was the writing good? Not really. Was there continuity? Absolutely not (and I suppose an argument could be made that it's by design). Were some of the characterizarions cringey and miss the mark? Yeah.

But, honestly, I had a good time with it. I even liked Five/Lila (and I know y'all will come for me about that 🫣).

As I understand it, the show deviated from the canon enough that it's kind of it's own thing. And let's be real, the entire show is not the pinnacle of writing. The whole thing is a bit of a cluster fuck, but it's certainly entertaining for me.

I think this is one of those seasons you don't dig too deep into because it works better if you squint a bit (or a lot, maybe unfocus your eyes completely) . Or you can write it off entirely, which is valid, too.

By all means, analyze and be critical of our media, but at the end of the day, it's really not that serious. And fix it fics exist for times like these!

completely unrelated thought to literally anything i've been doing today:

canon Sanji getting swapped with a Sanji from a genderswap AU. key point is that everyone's p much the same personality wise

there are crises going on. but mostly for canon Sanji lmao

this includes:

Luffy still likes to walk around w/ an open shirt

Franky also still likes to walk around w/ an open shirt

Usopp, guess what, also likes to walk around w/ an open shirt

granted, Usopp at least wears crop tops sometimes

Brook looks pretty much the same except for speaking mannerisms / voice pitch; startles the hell out of Sanji bc he keeps expecting it to be his Brook until a Skull Joke comes out of those chuckling teeth

The knee jerk reaction to Robin and Nami keeps crossing wires- one moment Sanji will just register a guy in his peripheral but not who he's speaking to and cuss and complain and shit. then the realization will kick in and he'll be caught up trying to apologize, but then wondering if he does need to apologize because uh, Nami and Robin are guys here right?? and they're not his Nami and Robin, but at the same time he can't just be rude to Nami and Robin-

he ends up staring into space for a while thinking in circles about it

Zoro is now of the gender he typically dotes on

"H-Hey, Moss-chan-"

"Don't call me that"

"Right. You want a smoothie?"

"I'm not gonna fuck you."

Usopp is the easiest to dote on, followed by Chopper, Franky, and Luffy. funny thing is, aside from Zoro, none of them have complained about/refused said doting. Sanji is reassuring himself that his list doesn't mean anything. he's not falling for Usopp just because of a pair of tits. that'd be ridiculous. after all his Usopp has got plenty big tits already-

he slams his head into a wall trying to forget that thought

also. he has no outlet for any frustration/anger/overwhelming feelings because he's got his code of chivalry thing. so he can't fight Zoro and he doesn't want to fight Robin or Nami. he starts smoking more to compensate, but then he either runs out or Chopper intervenes and gets him to promise to limit his use

in short. suffering.

This Nami and Robin do notice though & while Nami very much does not want to fight Sanji on account of, yknow, not wanting any broken bones or terrible injuries, Robin on the other hand-

He knew it'd help Sanji and it'd be nice to have a sparring partner to practice the more deadly things he can do on someone who can handle it, so he's kinda like "if it'll help, i don't mind sparring"

Sanji is caught between "oh fuck yes, finally someone to kick" and "I CANT HURT ROBIN-KUN"

the sparring ends up very pathetic on Sanji's side of things- think his fight with Kalifa but without him trying to bluff and looking openly stressed- Usopp listens to Sanji's woes about it later while she tinkers on inventions lmao

Usopp is also oddly clingy with Sanji, more so than his own Usopp. However, Sanji doesn't even bother thinking about it, just happy to soak up all the affection. He always has some sort of crisis thinking about his own Usopp later though.

Zoro, and I cannot stress this enough, is a woman. a buff, sweaty, mossball of a woman.

so yeah, suffering.

fem sanji, on the other hand:

having the time of her life

proud bisexual woman going "dear god, so many hot guys- wait shit, is that mosshead"

starts getting "overly friendly" with Usopp- laying his head in her lap, playing with his hair, carrying him around, calling him pet names, making him special snacks, etc.

everyone else puts it together real quick, except Usopp. who doesn't realize the answer until fem Sanji gives him a goodbye kiss on the cheek before going to prep for dinner

The answer: fem Usopp and fem Sanji are dating

fem Sanji: he's Usopp, therefore he's my partner in this flipped world, therefore I gotta treat him right while his own Sanji isn't here

Usopp wants to tell her the truth. but also. doesn't.

he is a mix of guilt and happiness every time he doesn't speak up and gets some gesture of love from her

in conclusion: one way or another, there is suffering all around <3
