Pitayaverse Asks............ TWO!

I once again have a good handful of asks regarding Pitayaverse, so here goes another post! :'D This time around there's about 29 asks I'll be answering! Enjoy <3

Silver's fine! His fur is just darkening with age :] Think of it like how a Siamese cat's fur works - he starts out looking almost fully white, but his limbs and face slowly darkens over time.

Oh yes, he resents him deeply. He had no part in any of this, but still slowly but surely ended up with all of Sonic's responsibilities. But by far the worst part for him is seeing how much it all affects this tiny little baby girl. THAT is what truly infuriates him.

It's come to my attention that this ask is probably about his Archie backstory, which I unfortunately don't know much about and so isn't canon to the AU ;v; I'm going with the vague idea that they don't have parents for whatever reason and had to grow up alone together

But in that case, I still like to think it has a part to play, yeah. Tails knows how hard it is to grow up without a parent, and he knows Sonic does too, so he can't comprehend why he isn't trying harder to give this kid that love and stability.

Oh, yeah. Having the Kind Patient Sweet one of the group snap and pop the fuck off on someone is scary every time it happens. All of them, Shadow included, would definitely be taken aback at the very least.

If I do end up giving them a kid, then this is absolutely the way I'd go with it. I can't let my boy go through even more turmoil in this AU, he's had more than enough :')

She does, but calling them that is a habit she picked up from Tails. Sonic and Knuckles just only referred to themselves and eachother as "dad," so when she'd talk to Tails about them he'd ask her to specify whether she meant "Sonic-dad" or "Knuckles-dad." Eventually she just started using those terms every time she spoke to or about them!

As Pitaya grows up, Knuckles graduates from "Knuckles-dad" to just "dad", but she eventually just starts calling Sonic by his name. Sonic doesn't really mind this, except for the few times that Knuckles gets to hold it over his head

The basic gist of it is that he was just really neglectful. He was barely there, and when he was, it was often only a matter of time before he and Knuckles started fighting. As an adult, she's also really upset that he let Tails take over all the heavy lifting for him when he was still just a kid too.

Once in a while! Usually whenever both Knuckles and Tails are preoccupied for whatever reason. All their stories of clever sleuthing and high-stakes tussles is what made her want to be a detective one day :]

And yes, actually, she did! Her and Echo, and occasionally Psi and Alloy, end up forming their own New Chaotix Detectives group! They just aren't nearly as active as Vector, Espio and Charmy were :')

Mighty USED to be in the cool uncle camp, but absolutely not anymore. That went out the window the second he got with Sonic. She does love Knuckles, but she's had her ups and downs with him. Ray she just doesn't really know at all, he just goes in the resentment bin by association :'D

But hmm, that's a good question. If they were to end up together, I think they probably wouldn't have kids, no. I like to imagine they'd be the type of couple who live seperately and just visit eachother frequently, and not like married with kids.

Their go-to babysitter list is very short because Silver gets very very paranoid over them :'D It consists of Blaze&Amy and Vector ONLY. And it took Espio AGES to convince Silver to let Vector take care of them in the first place

Maybe not robots, but in theory, I guess he probably could read aliens' minds. I was mostly referring to humans/mobians, but there's no reason he couldn't try on other sentient organic beings. However, I feel like they may end up being incomprehensible noise to him because of how differently an alien's brain would work to his own

As for when he's in meltdown mode and can hear everyone all at once, no, he can't hear everyone in the universe, just those that are within a certain radius. Think of it as like whatever a normal hearing range would be, just not obstructed by walls.

Yes! Espio and Silver are married and besides one or two blow-ups, they happily stay that way. And Sonic and Mighty are at the very least life partners, whether they get married or not (I haven't yet decided lol)

Besides them, Blaze and Amy are also married! And Knuckles and Rouge too eventually :]

LOL yeah the poor guy only had a vague idea of what he was signing up for. He had met Pitaya once in a while when she was young, and he knew Sonic had struggled with being there for her and that something happened between him and his friend group, but he didn't realize just how angry not only Pitaya was, but also Tails. He's using all those years of anger management to their fullest to tank this situation, I fear :'D

AND YESSS my boy needs more love <3 Us Mighty girlies have to stick together💪

It's hard to say, but I think they'd be relatively close. Maybe not joined at the hip, but they'd appreciate one another. They're both very similar in personality, it's just mostly that Echo is an introvert and Silver is a HUGE extrovert. The only conflict I can think of is that Echo is very much a copycat, and I think Silver might get annoyed with that pretty quick.

I KNOW I OFFERED TO WRITE A CAGE FIGHTER LO X READER TOO, DW IT'LL COME!!! This is really for my X-Men and Sabrina loving babes, is that really such a weird mix of fanbases? ALSO I am NOT American I have based my info abt the MSG thru tiktok ..ANYWAY ENJOY LUVVIES!!

Short summary: U have an extra ticket for a Sabrina carpenter concert and u wanna go w Logan!!! That's basically it :p

“Fuck no.” is the only anwser Logan gave you for this request, you we’re currently hanging out at Wade’s apartment with Wade, Vanessa and no other than Logan himself. Blind al wasn’t anywhere to be seen. According to Wade she was getting her old ***** popped, or something traumatic along the lines of that!

..Anyway, You had asked Logan to tag along with you for the short n’ sweet tour in New York to which he of course denied harshly.

“Come on Lo! It’ll be sooo much fun I promise..” you tugged at Logan’s sleeve only for him to pull his arm away again. “Why won’t you go? Concerts are awesome!” you whined again huffing as you plopped your back against the couch.

In response he took a sip of his beer, “Because, that concert is for pop loving teenage girls bub. Not my type of shit.” he gruffly said.

“Come on Logan, it’ll be fun for you two to go together” Vanessa spoke up, “I would’ve gone with her but you guys know I can’t go now, it will be a waste of the extra ticket!”

You and Vanessa we’re actually supposed to go together at first, but Wade was unknowing of this and booked them both a ‘romantic’ get away PRECISELY on the date of the concert. Fucker.

So here you were, bugging him and praying Logan would say yes to your request. "I'll pay for all of your beer.. all night. Will you go with me now?" You stared at Logan with puppy eyes awaiting his answer.

He sighed heavily and chugged his whole beer down in one go, "Jesus.. fuck! You never give up now do you woman? Fine, I'll go." He groaned out furrowing his brows with a scowl.

Your eyes lit up and you gave his broad arm a tight hug, "You're the best Lo! Thank youuu, it'll be so much fun I promise!!" He only rolled his eyes muttering a 'yeah yeah' in annoyed response as you and Vanessa just gave each other a big thumbs up.

"Promise to film it for me when Wolvie here actually starts enjoying himself AND dances to espresso, will you pumkin?" Wade playfully said, You just giggled and brushed him off "For sure.." There's absolutely no way you'd ever catch Logan dancing to espresso, really.

As the concert date finally came I woke up all excited, I already had my outfit all planned out and laid out perfectly. It was really just the typical high heels with sparkles outfit, just a few kisses on my dress and the signature heart cut out too!

A few hours pass and I call up Logan. The plan we made was that I got to wade's place, to first off help him with his outfit, and then just drive to the madison square garden together.

I knocked on the door and a groggy still halve asleep Logan opened the door, I pushed past him and walked directly to the spare room where he was staying. "Good morning to you too sunshine, did you just wake up from another nap? it's what, almost 4 PM already?" I jokingly called out. He only muttered something about me being annoying in return and closed his door after entering his room too.

He raised an eyebrow as he finally noticed my sparkly outfit, "What the fuck are you wearing? It's like you're trying to blind me with your light.." I rolled my eyes and opened his closet door, "Very funny," I responded sarcastically.

After a few minutes of searching in his closet I groaned out frustrated. "God! I don't know why I assumed you'd have anything sparkly or with heart prints in your closet.."

He sat down on his bed with a soft thud, "Yeah, that's pretty stupid." He remarked. I only groaned again in response and then my eyes lit up with an idea, "Maybe Wade's got something sparkly.. Oh he's definitely got something pink!" I exclaimed happily.

To which Logan only scoffed, "Listen sweetheart, you should be happy enough I'm even going to this girly concert with you. I won't also become a walking disco ball." He crossed his arms in protest.

I turned around to face him with furrowed brows that quickly turned into a fake sad pout. "What about just a pink T shirt?"

The music of this concert was horrible, that's a fact for Logan. But going with you? Getting to spend more time with you that you practically begged for? How could he deny after he almost saw you basically cry to go together??

You could've just asked one of your other girl friends, but you decided to go with Logan, which you tried to make it seem 'natural' since you and Logan we're close friends but for Logan it felt like he was made your first option.. For you it was more than obvious 'why' cause you've been wanting to fuck this big jerk for forever now!

As we we're standing in the line of the concert we had like one and a halve hour to go.. And we we're pretty close to the entrance too! you gazed around and looked at everyone's cute kisses make up and got this fun idea..

you said bluntly as you stared up at him with wide pleading eyes, in a way to deceive him of other motives.

The poor guy almost choked on air, with both brows raised he questioned "What?"

"Yeah I mean like, put on some of my red lipstick and kiss my cheek! I want those cute kisses too!! And I'll put a few in your neck or something.." you mumbled the last part as you went to grab the red lipstick out of your purse, along with baby wipes. "And don't worry, you can clean your lips after." You said with rolling eyes.

"Wait I'll do you first, bend down a bit.." Since Logan was lots taller than you it was hard to actually reach his neck.

In a bit of a flustered state Logan just stared at you with confused eyes, "You're serious about this?" He asked in disbelief. "Duh!" You responded in excitement.

He let out a deep chuckle while shaking his head, "Only because it's you." He said as he leaned down.

I bit back a grin as he spoke those words but quickly applied my lipstick and put my hand on the back of his neck, pulling him a bit closer.

As his body was so close to mine the pure smell of whiskey and tobacco hit me, god it was like drugs to be this close to him. I held onto the nape of his neck and gently placed a few kisses from down to his collarbone up toward his jaw.

And I fucking swear I could've heard him groan softly.

Now it was Logan's turn to basically give me lipstick hickey's, he was still bent down a bit and he delicately grabbed my face with one hand, squeezing my cheeks slightly and turned it to the side so he had easy acces to my neck.

As his lips touched my neck I also had to bite down a moan honestly.

Soon enough we we're both covered in kisses, "Oh my god Lo, this it too cute! Let me take a picture!!" You quickly grabbed your cellphone out of your bag and Logan just smirked at your excitement, his only current thoughts we're truly just one: You are really fucking adorable and two: How adorable would you look under him?

You turned the camera to both of you and before you snapped the picture you had placed your lips on his cheek and quickly took it. Logan's surprised face was really easy to notice on the picture, which made you laugh real hard.

Finally the doors had opened and you told Logan to not let go of your hand since some of these fans will go absolutely crazy. "After we're past the security we can run.." "Run?" He questioned, you only smiled awkwardly in response. "You'll see."

And as I had expected, once we we're past security everyone started running. To which I, of course joined in to.. I truly wish I could've filmed Logan's face as soon as I started sprinting with his hand still interlocked with mine, to die for.

As we reached the hall I noticed how there was still a spot open on the barricade side, "OH MY GOD LOGAN RUN." I yelled out as I increased my pace a bit and grasped onto the barricade.

I slowly turned to Logan with pure disbelief splayed on my face. "We got fucking barricade." I said in the most serious tone. He only laughed out of breath, "Yeah and you almost broke my neck getting it." I giggled and muttered out an embarrassed 'sorry'.

We chatted and giggled for a bit before the opener, Rachel Chinouriri came on. She was absolutely amazing and to my surprise Logan didn't think she was all that bad too!

As she got off stage I looked up at Logan, "She was so good right?!" He nodded, "Sure, but was that the concert? Was that the Carpenti girl you've been going on about?" I only laughed in response. "Sometimes you're so clueless Logan.. And it's CarpenTER oh my lord!"

Me and Logan laughed a bit more until a crazy idea popped up in your head. "Oh my god Logan okay. So like when Sabrina performs she usually does this position during one of her songs, Crazy idea but we should totally recreate it." I said it with a flirty undertone, being a halve truthful joke.

He just raised one eyebrow at me, confused. "What type of position?" I smirked up at him, "You'll see, I'll tell you right before she does it."

He nodded skeptically, not sure what to expect.

Because the standing room was so small Logan had decided to move behind me, since he could easily look over me and just cage me in between his arms holding onto the barricade. He also muttered something about 'this dress is too damn short' to which I responded 'short n sweet' with a playful wink and loud laughter.

I slowly reached down for his hands on the barricade and wrapped my hands around his two index fingers, holding on tightly.

And then the lights died down.

Logan's facial expressions during bed chem we're to most laughable ones, a few songs later and after a bit Sabrina went off stage and quickly came back holding pink handcuffs to which I obviously had prayed to get.

Logan just asked 'why does she have handcuffs?' and I giggled "Be patient Lo! You'll see"

She looked around the crowd a bit, and guess fucking what- Her eyes landed on you. "Hello there gorgeous.." She exclaimed through the microphone.

"Oh my god I'm gonna fucking faint.. LOGAN HOLD ME!" I yelled out dramatically while giggling.

After the whole Juno intro and with her passing me the fuzzy pink handcuffs I nudged Logan gently while yelling out loudly, "In this song she'll do the position! watch it carefully!!" I had a big grin on my face while screaming along at this point too.

'You make me wanna make you fall in love..'

'Oh, late at night I'm thinkin' 'bout you, ah ah ah ah'

'Wanna try out some freaky positions?'

"Here it comes!!"

'Have you ever tried this one?'

I stared at her intently to see what position see was doing and I yelled out loudly as she went down on her knees and pretended to give her microphone a blowjob.

"OH MY FUCKING GOOOOD!!" and if I could've seen Logan's face in that moment I bet I would've been rolling on the floor laughing for real.

For the rest of this concert Logan just had this surprised look on his face and it seemed as if he had to hide his sly smile.

"Oh I know you did you dick!" I giggled as we walked back to my car.

I sat in the drivers seat and Logan in the passengers, we chatted just a bit more and we finally reached wade's apartment. I walked up with Logan to tell him goodbye at the door before leaving to my own house.

"I had so much fun today Lo, thanks again for coming with me.." I hugged him tightly and didn't quite let go, I just loosely had my arms wrapped around his shoulders as I looked up at him. "It's fine.." He hesitated for a bit but looked down at me now, "So about that position you wanted to recreate?" he smirked.

"Oh my god Logan! You freak!" I giggled out as I playfully hit him biting my lip. "Wade's not home you know.." He said in a deep teasing tone.

I looked away from him and thought about it for a second.. To which I quickly stepped into the apartment gazing at his eyes again in a sultry way this time, "I offered it anyway." I winked as I said that and rushed to his bedroom.

Summary : Reader and Caleb went out to play in the park, but at some point, you weren't listening to him when he was warning you about something, causing you to get injured.

"Grandma! Can Caleb and I go out to the park to play?! We promise not to get lost!" You ran up to her with hope, hoping for her to give in. "Yeah, we won't get anywhere that's too far away from home." Caleb chimed in from behind you with a toothy grin.

She looked down at both of you, taking a moment to think as she put down her cup of tea and the newspaper that she was reading on the coffee table. After seeing the puppy eyes both you and Caleb were giving her, she sighed and nodded in reply. "Alright, alright... promise me that none of you will get hurt, too, though. Caleb, look out for [name] as well."

"Yeah, I will, like always! There's no need to underestimate my awesome protecting skills!" Caleb proudly puffs his chest dramatically with his hands on his hips. Grandma chuckled at his cute anticipation and poked his stomach lightly. "Alright, young man... You two run along now. Go home before dinner time, alright?"

"Yes, grandma!" Both of you said in unison. Both of you grabbed each of your shoes and put them on securely on your feet. After that, both of you said your goodbyes to grandma before walking out of the house.

When you guys arrived, you excitedly gasped while jumping excitedly, pointing at the swings. "Caleb, Caleb! Look! They finally added swings here!" You exclaimed and didn't hesitate for a second to pull him by his hand, guiding him to where the swing was. He giggled along with you as you guys made your way to the swing.

"They added a swing." He corrected you smugly. "You want to go on it first? I'll help you swing on it by pushing you!" He offered since there was only one swing at the park where you guys were playing in.

"Yeah! I'll push you too after I'm done!" You got on the swing with little of Caleb's help.

After a while of going on back and forth on the slides, swings, seesaw, etc, Caleb brought up the idea of playing tag, and of course, you couldn't say no to that! Although, after a few rounds of playing tag together, your shoelaces became undone by itself without you knowing it. Caleb saw your untied shoelaces and tried warning you about it. "[Name]! Your shoelaces—" He yelled as he chased after you, trying to reach for your arm to stop you.

You thought that he was only playing tricks on you just so he could win the game, so you kept running away. "No! I know you're lying, Cale–" You then cut yourself off when you felt something keeping one of your legs still, just as Caleb expected, you accidentally stepped onto your untied shoelaces. your body hitting the ground with a loud 'thud' after you fell.

A wave of worry washes over Caleb's face. He quickly ran towards you to check if you were alright, squatting down next to you, lowering his head to see your face better while wrapping one of his arms around your shoulder in an attempt to comfort you.

"[Name]?.. Are you okay? How bad does it hurt? Do you think that you can still walk back home? Would you want me to carry you instead?" He attacked you with simple questions that are filled with his worried tone. His hand was about to touch your cheek, wanting to wipe the tears away even though there aren't any.

You quickly swatted his hand away and mumbled, "I'm not crying." Before slowly sitting down, checking your knee that has a pretty big scratch after falling and scratching it against the concrete. Your eyes widened at the sight of your knee, panicking when you saw it bleeding.

"C-Caleb! Quickly! Help me clean it!" Your eyes kept darting back and forth from his gaze, then to your knee.

"I-I don't have anything to clean it with!" He stood up and looked around the park, hoping to find something that could help and clean your wound. His eyes landed on a faucet that was attached to the wall near the entrance of the park. Without a second thought, he picked you up, carrying you to the faucet, earning a surprised yelp from you.

Afterward, he puts you on your feet, turning on the faucet. He was supporting your body by pressing your back against his chest. His hand holding one of your wrists and his other hand held your side. "Just put your knee in the water."

"No! It'll hurt—"

"Do you want it cleaned or not?!" He cuts you off while gently pushing you closer to the running water.

"Hmhp..." You winced as you felt the running cold water stinging your wound even more. "Caleb– done! Enough– it stings!" You whined while moving away from the water.

Caleb sighed and gently pulled you away from the running water, reaching out to the faucet to turn it off. "Alright, pips... does it feel better, though?"

"A little..." You respond quietly, shaking your head in case he didn't hear you.

"Let's go back home, yeah? I'll give you a piggyback ride so we get there faster. Come on." He said softly, letting you go to crouch down. He patted his back, silently signaling you to hop on. You hesitated for a few seconds before hopping on, wrapping your arms around his neck lazily and your legs around his waist.

"Alright, cleared for take off, let's gooo!" He grinned as he began to walk at normal speed, not really wanting to make you feel worse because of him by walking with you on his back while speeding. You giggled at his saying and finally relaxed on his back, though you were still in a slight pain.

Caleb walks into the house with you still on his back and stopped when he saw Josephine walking over to you guys with worry in her eyes. "Sweethearts, what happened?!"

"My guess is that she didn't tie her shoelaces tight enough... so it went untied. I warned her about it, but she didn't listen, so she tripped because of it while running." Caleb explained sheepishly.

"Awh.. sit down, you two. I'll clean you up, [Name]." You watched Josephine walk away to the kitchen to grab the first aid kit.

Caleb sat down closely by your side the whole time with an arm around your shoulders, an attempt to make you feel somewhat better. You leaned against his touch as both of you waited for Josephine to come back.

"There.. all better now?" She asked softly as she makes sure that you didn't have any more injuries on your legs.

round six: ish vs. raja

Have you ever watched a human being get eaten? Have you ever seen a person, a real person who grew up under the same fake powder-blue sky as you and played in the same fake grass, get torn limb from limb and gnawed on like cheap meat? Have you ever watched them slowly disappear, piece by piece, until every single one of their cells is set for digestion in some monster's belly?

Ish hasn't, and it's the only thing she can think about as the MUAs fuss over her, touching up her hair and makeup before she returns to her pod. The last time she was in here, they scolded her for giggling and whirling around in the spinny chair, almost snapping one of the segyein stylists' tentacles. Now they scold her for her wobbly mouth and teary eyes.

Ish has never seen a person get eaten, and that's the problem, isn't it? They dragged her off the stage kicking and screaming, and Raja died alone. She was the last person he saw in the whole universe, and she left him there. The aliens wanted to kill him and she let them win.

Her thoughts drift to the little pink crane left back at her dorm, Mercury's handiwork, with a sweet "good luck!" written inside. Why would they spend so much of their precious time on a failure like her? Now they're dead, and they'll never get that time back.

And then Nadohan—Ish wanted to see them again so, so badly, but now she wishes she didn't. Not when it ended like this. When she closes her eyes, she still sees it: bright pink hair lost amidst the red, red blood. Her stomach churns. She's always been squeamish about blood.

A soft hiccup breaks from her throat, and a slimy segyein feeler yanks her braid, a warning not to cry again, harsh enough to send a bolt of pain through her skull. The gnawing guilt in her gut makes way for a familiar fire.

She lifts her head. The MUA in front of her is an ugly thing, with seven eyes in a lopsided band around their head. Ish aims for the one in the middle and spits, laughing brightly at the shrieks and hisses and roars of horror that rip through the room.

Ish has never liked the word hate, but she hates hates hates hates hates the segyein. They can beat her up more if they like. Kill her. But she's never letting them win again.

Always with the hornets' nests with these ones, I see! Though i don't think there's a fandom out there that isn't in some way a hornets' nest once it gets large enough... hm. Alright. I'm just gonna be as honest as i can be about this, and tag accordingly.

my favourite female character: augh. argh. ouph. so difficult. so hard. Since I'm working off of half-remembered show and half recently-rewatched show... its a tossup. Mercedes, Santana, Quinn. Probably Mercedes. She did nothing wrong ever in her entire life <3 well okay maybe except that one time she smashed kurt's car windows (but it was a banger song, though). Can't say Santana because of the Biphobia TM and other things like excessive use of bigotry-based insults, and Quinn. Oh god girl. Cheating is not cool! Funnily enough! So I find them really interesting but 'favourite' is hard to say. Mercedes. Mercedes for sure <3

my favourite male character: Blaine sam blaine sam blaine sam yes. I am imitating ripping petals off of flowers and coming to a conclusion based on which is the last name i said. So I guess that means Sam! But really this is a tie.

my favourite book/season/etc: Mannnnn idk. I don't like shows for seasons as-a-whole. Also i could not tell you what happened in any given season if you held a gun to my head. I'm not good at that. The only shows i know 'seasons' of are Buffy and Teen Wolf because i've watched them like 100000000000 times (exaggeration) for various reasons (mostly fanfiction research).

my favourite episode (if its a tv show): I can tell you my LEAST favourite episode (blame it on the alcohol, thank you Kurt king of biphobia! this is a persona foible it's not the worst episode in the show. by far. by far. it's kind of an average one. I'm just angry at it.) BUT er. Favourite? Idk. Genuinely some of the earlier Kurt-centric stuff was really well done (his convo with Burt... <3) and the Quinn giving birth accompanied by bohemian rhapsody was obviously iconic, but if I'll be honest I couldn't name any episodes of this show (other than That One previously stated, anyway). And yeah most of the time they were named after song titles and No i don't remember those song titles either. I'm just so bad at this. My memory is that of a goldfish's being haphazardly bounced around on a sieve.

my favourite cast member: it would be really funny if I said Demi Lovato [she counts!] but the truth is N/A: i don't know these people !!! They are strangers!! (i don't. follow celebrities. at all. I couldn't even name most of them. They're just people doing a job and their lives are irrelevant to me beyond their ability to perform that job well. I do not need to know where they live and what coffee they drink. Stalker shit tbh. I'm kind of a very private person myself, so rpf-adjacent stuff just... creeps me out. I've never watched a single cast interview in my lifetime and I'm not about to start!)

my favourite ship: Difficult to say! Grave and obvious lie. Blam. It's blam. Quintana is a close runner up though Santana really needs to stop dating people who cheat on the regular (I'll accept Quinn has grown enough not to do this by the time a Quintana coupling would be viable - and satisfying in terms of character arcs - narratively speaking).

a character I’d die defending: Blaine Anderson did something wrong for sure but like Kurt did it first so shrugs. Cancels out. Bad for each other! Case closed!

a character I just can’t sympathize with: genuinely don't remember if I had one of those the first time around because I was like 10 and just didn't pay attention if I didn't care, but Terri and her racist self take that 'prize' this time, alongside the obvious predator in the room [original choir teacher. Sandy? I forget his name immediately after hearing it. He doesn't deserve to be remembered]. Also JBI is just.... a yikes character all around. I mean, he's a blatant stereotype for one, in a the people who wrote this person don't like jews kind of way. Unfortunately common stereotype too, for the era, so not only is he that, he's also lazy. Just a one-note pervert who's the butt of various antisemitic 'jokes' you've heard from era-peer shows a million times over, tired and awful and a sour reminder of bigotry that continues to this day. Really regrettable character who's lack of redeeming qualities was probably purposeful. (I know Rachel and tina are also jewish, but this comes up very rarely and mostly only when santana needs to say something kind of fucked up, as is her modus operandi, for 'comic relief'. Tina's jewish-ness wasn't even canon for several seasons, because she didn't have a surname or a family or anything resembling complex character depth for several seasons. The one time I really remember Rachel's religion being important was when she was pressuring Kurt into believing in some kind of god, which??? don't do that. Bad example. Trying to guilt trip a friend into faith sucks. I take back what i said earlier Mercedes did that too. Boo. Girls try again that was a bad showing all around. Though i have no idea why Kurt went the acupuncture route as his 'secular' option but i think that has to do a lot with the writers doing literally no research ever once in their lives (you can tell they don't by the way they write the football segments of the show, which make no sense according to football fans who watch Glee, of which there are numerous because real life isn't like fiction where you can only like music or sports. Most of the kids in my school year were doing the most of everything ever if they were the 'popular' ones - we do that differently; popularity isn't really based on who know know; for some bizzare reason literally everyone knew who I was? Even people I'd never spoken to?? - but more about like... how much you can do, I guess. Overachievers, but I'm not saying that negatively; these people were generally - generally - very nice, and surprisingly chill for people who had no spare time whatsoever. I'm not entirely sure when they slept; A* across the board, at least one sport, at least one instrument, several extracurriculars, parties every weekend, dozens of friends and an s.o. . Eh? Way too much going on. Scary lifestyle! Impressive burnout rate, probably. Er. Tangent! Back to the scheduled programming).) There's uhhhh there's a lot of bad characters on the show, but i'd say Sandy and Terri and her equally but more loudly racist sister are truly completely irredeemable ones. Like they're not interesting or anything, they're just there to be narrative annoyances (which, in the case of Sandy specifically, is insane. Arrest that man!!! He has actively sexually assaulted minors!!!).

a character I grew to love: difficult to say because I tend to just make an opinion and stick to it. Also i don't remember who i liked at first and who i didn't, this show came out when i was eight. I didn't watch it until I was a little older than that, of course, but I frankly have spotty memory until my late teens, so! I'm not sure!! Quinn, probably. Pink-hair-era Quinn helped me understand her more, and seeing the moments of kindness hidden behind practical cruelty, when you understand her family and situation, makes things make a lot more sense. It takes a lot to get me to sympathise with a cheater, but I can see where Quinn was getting all turned around in her head about life because of her upbringing and socialisation, not to mention the profoundly negative impact cheerios had on her mentally and that the school's culture in general was not exactly a breeding ground for empathy and optimism.

my anti otp: can you tell (klaine). I don't dislike Kurt!!! Please let him have a fun chillaxed boyfriend in new york with his vogue friends. But also please stop attempting to control other people's diets thank you!! Thank you!! I'm of mixed feelings. Blaine and Kurt both did at least one bad, relationship-ending thing, and proved over and over again that they just weren't on the same wavelength in regards to life goals and ways of living it. They can't even share the same living space, which is kind of required for a functional marriage. I don't know, it just seems like they settled for their first proper, serious boyfriend even if that's not really the best match, and I... wish they'd just got to see more of life first, you know? They got married at like 20! Or something! I'm 23, I cannot imagine getting married at 20. That's a baby. Let them live first!

(same for Santana and Brittney, imo. I also don't really like them together because Santana and Brittney have very different ideas regarding monogamy, which is just never going to go down well in the long run. If your girl cheats on you like twenty times and tells you to your face its not cheating in her view of things, but you think it is, break up with her because you'll just make each other miserable. Brittney sort of seems incapable of feeling guilt but if she were, this kind of moral pressure would be Not Good, and obviously Santana isn't comfortable with the idea and doesn't have to be!! Just move on!!! Find other people!!!! Don't marry your first girlfriend if you've broken up like ten times this is simple!!!! Please!!!! But Klaine wins out over Brittana because - in my opinion, glee fandom please do not persecute me, I am known for this specific thing - I see... interactions that verge on abusive between Klaine that I don't see in Brittana. So. Oof? Ex; use of public perception to disguise attack; deliberately hurting Blaine in a stage-combat fencing match (you are not meant to make actual contact in these) and thus using Blaine's own dislike of making his difficulties common knowledge against him in order to 'punish' him. This is no good! Don't do this!!.[Also just to err vaguepost about a comment.... that is. not. what i would call passive aggressive. Physically attacking someone with a sword - no matter the type of sword, fencing foils hurt just as much, they're just not stab-you sharp... er, these days - is just straight-up aggressive.]).

Note that negative things stick in the mind better than positive ones; on a rewatch I may well alter my opinion!

i'm getting so tired of the theories that yj derailing is Actually because it's a Commentary on the Audience, about how real life doesn't work out poetically but We as the Depraved Audience want fucked up deaths that satisfy, We as the Dumbass Audience want to find meaning just like the girls do even when there is none, that We as the Audience of seemingly mostly people who experience misogyny first-hand and want to see a cathartic commentary on it are just... getting off to female pain?!

like. 1) yeah i got into the feral teen girl cannibalism show because i wanted feral teen girls. i think everyone did. why does that have to say anything about me beyond... that i wanted an interesting story that has to be explored in fiction because it's not what i want to happen irl?

and 2) i think the writers just don't know what they're doing in either case. why make a show that is specifically unsatisfying across the board intentionally without anything to really balance that out? or do they just not know how to make it satisfying? i lean toward the latter lol, especially because even if there is a case for this idea to pan out... it doesn't feel like it was planned from the start.

"WE as the AUDIENCE are It, the It that hungers for spilled blood!" sure, but also i got into this show because the girls were supposed to be the ones hungering for spilled blood lol. both me AND the girls can want carnage. that's actually what was supposed to happen - teen girls unraveling without the restrictions of society, teen girls being just as awful as teen boys if not worse, teen girls losing their connection to humanity as they become one with the nature coiling around them in a way that makes you wonder if their descent is ACTUALLY a transition into what core humanity is supposed to be.

so... while i do like the twist that not all of them actually wanted the more recent hunting and feasting, that some of them are more attached to their humanity and various factions are plotting various forms of violence for better or for worse, that now that we actually KNOW the characters we can recognize them as people more than silent cloaked figures whose story we could only make as many unfair assumptions about as the in-universe public... i'm not sure it's being executed very well.

IF the actual takeaway is that We The Audience were just silly depraved monsters for WANTING the girls spiraling into unleashing the rage wound up in them from modern society, for WANTING the premise that they could be just as bad if not worse than the lord of the flies boys... then why was that the premise? it feels cheap to go "oooooh you wanted a show about carnage after being promised a show about carnage? Ha Ha, your disappointment in us not delivering actually says something about YOU and YOUR capacity for violence and YOUR cannibalism of people's trauma!" and that feels inappropriate as well as cheap, and really not as big of a gotcha as people think because these characters are NOT REAL. this isn't a sensationalized tv show about a real life serial killer bending to the will of whatever is most interesting, and while it was loosely based on the andes crash it is hardly comparable at this point.

i do think there is more time for the girls to have a more unified decline, or that the more feral faction will grow. i think there are also a lot of instances of violence and "selfish" tendencies, even if they aren't the ones we expected - passively "allowing" violence, rigging the card draw, etc. i also do think that at this point in the story--largely BECAUSE they got snapped back into themselves with the promise of near-rescue--they do need to be broken down more collectively to reach that point as a group. maybe we'll get that in season 4! or maybe the writers just didn't properly utilize the time between last winter and this one enough to get us there on time and this was what happened instead. so many more people need to die in such a short span of time, i'm not really sure what they're thinking.

ANYWAY. the show could bring in that angle, sure. but it also needs to have contained substance imo first. there are media where the whole point is commentary on entertainment, like the truman show. but that has always been a teensy tiny background blip in yj - we see the "what really happened out there?" true crime girlie fascination from people, we see tabloids and books theorizing, but it was always... less about that and more about their actual trauma carrying over into adulthood and how it impacts them. especially now, there really isn't much outside speculation, even after huge scandals like nat's death with the survivors present or taissa's political crash. now would be the perfect time to ground that element more. like. i got into a show about teens crashing in the wilderness and eating each other to survive, and while i SEE the point of an angle about how the in-universe treatment of the situation can reflect on similar in our own universe, i don't think our expectations of a narratively satisfying story can have that same conclusion extracted from it. there is a difference between kinda punishing the audience for engaging with fiction as fiction, versus giving a commentary on how people sensationalize true crime.

basically the "oOoOoO the show is ACTUALLY about how WE crave violence and theatrics at the expense of other people!" thing feels like a slap in the face lmfao. i unfortunately think that theory has merit after some stuff in season 3, so i don't blame the way some people are clinging to it, but if this was what the writers were intending (especially if you do take the citizen detective boards as a stand-in for the reddit forums the writers apparently spend too much time in) that doesn't sit right with me with what we currently have. that said, i also do think it's funny that people are more willing to believe that unsatisfying writing is a Grand Plan and not just... bad writing. this is especially weird to me as someone who didn't like season 2 and got a lot of shit for it, and i'm guessing a lot of people trying to "justify" their own declining love for the show with this theory are some of the same people who were pretty vile at our valid criticisms in s2. like... you can dislike the show, it's okay lol. even the people who work on it hate it, in case you haven't noticed.
