small PSA: if you shop at craft shows or artist alleys, please bring more than apple pay or a virtual card - especially if you're not comfortable entering your card number manually. not all of us have fancy card readers, so please also bring your physical card or cash, even if it's only as backup 👍

#psa #conventions #artist alley #not art #i've done two craft shows and two conventions with just my swipe reader. and cash ofc. but i did have to miss a couple sales at the cons #because people only had apple pay. no cash no physical card. It Sucks For Both Of Us!#when i say there are small businesses in the artist alley i mean some of us are Small #i don't speak just for myself but for other artists who have this trouble as well. some folks are just starting out and some folks #just do this for a hobby and can't afford or can't justify the bigger terminals yet or at all #if i get into ACEN again next year i'll opt for a terminal but they're Pricey and not something to start out with y'know #if you want to be an artist's best friend though? pay in cash.#not to mention if there's technical or wifi trouble - cash just works 100% of the time. no reader or wifi will stop you from using cash.#semi related but i had someone try to pay with apple pay at my last show and i said they'd have to enter their number manually then #and they said they'd go find their partner and see if they had card/cash. and then while they were walking away from their booth #their friend asked why and they said it wasn't safe. on one hand i can't be mad because its VERY good to practice card safety!#on the other hand. you're entering it into the same app that would process a swipe payment. it's exactly as safe as if you'd swiped it #i promise as long as you're entering the number into a square app your card info is safe lmao #anyway yeah a lot of us aren't Big Businesses. please just be courteous and bring some traditional payment methods Just In Case

#ive known since the moment we got the cancer diagnosis id be losing him #it doesnt make it easier #tw pet loss #ive experienced a dog dying unexpectedly and now a planned death #i have decided there is no death thats easy. you'll always wish it went the other way.#in 24 hours ill be loading him into my car one last time #ill be joking about how heavy he is as i lift my 'heavy baby' into the backseat #i'll be babytalking him the entire drive and nearly dislocating my arm just to pet him at the red lights for the last time #i bought him reese's peanut butter cups. because he loves peanut butter and deserves to taste chocolate before he goes #i got him all his favorite treats. been feeding him all the meals he'd beg for that id say 'dogs cant have'#i just. this is hard. im losing my baby. my best friend.#the 'aggressive' boy no one wanted for 2 years until i came upon him and said 'hes coming home with me'#people keep telling me i dont have to be in the room when it happens but how could i do that?#how could i leave him alone this last time (arguably the most important time) when the day i brought him home #i made the promise that he'd never be alone again?#how could i do that when every time hes sick he wants me near him? puts his head in my lap?#how could i when during my roughest times he protected me so fiercely?#the only time he's been anything but a gentle giant has always been when he protects me #how could i not protect HIM one last time?#im sorry. im in my feels. this fucking sucks.

Hello everyone! 😁 January is finally here, and this is very exciting news for me because I'm going to New Zealand!!! 🤩✈️ It's a huge trip that I've been planning for a whole year now. It will be the first time I ever take the plane. The first time I visit another country in years. The first time I travel so far away from home! And what's more, this will be the longest trip in my life. Over a month. I can hardly wrap my head around it still! 🤯🗓

I've also had some time to reflect, and... I've decided to use this opportunity to step back and go offline for a bit. 🌱 I wanted to tell you about this sooner, and I apologize for how sudden this probably is for most of you. I promise that I'm alright and doing this with a peaceful mindset! Although- I'm a bit sad at the thought that we won't see or hear from each other for a while. 🥺 It's a bittersweet feeling, but at the same time, I'm sure the temporary change of pace will be a good thing. Lately I've been feeling the need to take a break from social media again, and the timing is perfect. I'm ready. 🤲💫

To my lovely friends and followers here: I hope you will all have a great time these next few weeks. I hope the beginning of 2024 will treat you well and that you will get to experience new and exciting things.
