Decided to dig this up from the depths of my art blog as a sort of “Look at where we are, look at where we started” moment
Date of origin: January 12th 2021
Do y’all remember that one scene in Studio Ghibli’s Princess Mononoke-
This one?
I was watching the movie on Saturday while writing chapter 6 of Seeds of the Red Lotus when an idea struck my brain and refused to leave
May I present to you-
The Suiren/Kuvira crack-ship that @felicity-kitten and I came up with once in the middle of the night
Again, this started out as a crack-ship (it’s literally Suiren’s job to take Kuvira down come on-) but ngl, I’m lowkey interested in what their dynamic would be like. They are similar in a lot of ways, when you think about it.
#‘crack ship’ I really had no idea what was coming did I#‘lowkey interested in what their dynamic would be like’ this is so funny to look back on#how did we get here#how did i go from making jokes and drawing anime memes to coming up with thousands of words worth of headcanons#and drawing things tumblr shan’t see??#the fact it’s been over two and a half years…#good fucking god#I was still drawing in ibispaint then#rare remnants of my pre procreate era#tablet and stylus only a month old#I was literally just 14 back then#I never expected this ship to become so dear and beloved to me#I also think it’s funny how even here. with dialogue that isn’t their own. with 0 headcanons about what they’re like together#they manage to reflect the kuviren of today#with Suiren spouting death threats and Kuvira making good use of how flustered Suiren gets when complimented#and a trace of the old self remains in the new self#some things just never change do they 😂😅#also. ‘while writing chapter 6 of sotrl’ WOW FUNNY JOKE NIA. ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS#okay well this was posted less than 2 weeks after I published chapter 5#so I was still full of excitement and passion for writing#then the winter holidays ended and we were quarantined again and it felt like all the joy was sucked out of me#and I never fully recovered#congratulations I made it about me and my problems again yay#ignore me#focus on the origins of Kuviren#look at them#I love them so much#we’ve come so far#I’m getting emotional over this :’)#kuviren

Say “Ahh” 🥣 💊
Self care for your sick clone ~😷🌡️
Further rambling below
So I can draw again (kind of??) Thing is the new stylus works but since my current hp spectre laptop is a lot bigger than my last one, it’ll take me some time to fully warm up to it. (it also overheats if I use it too long… >.>)
Also embarrassing realization on my part, but the sensitivity of my stylus could be fixed in clip studio itself. The reason it was drawing lines so thick is because I didn’t set the touch setting to pc tablet. That fixed everything and now I can draw with the same lines as I did before. Don’t judge me I was drawing on that old spectre tablet for years (i got it way back in 2017) and I forgot how I set it up before...😅
So yay, I’m back art-wise. But it’ll take me some time to fully warm up to the change. So I went over one of my marker pen sketches as a practice piece and turned it into a little 4 parter. You know I love it when sickies get fed by their caretakers c: I already drew makoto feeding yuma before, so now it's his turn!🥣
This isn’t my best work, not by a long-shot this is mediocre at best. But it did make my sketch look better so it’s a win I guess. (side views are still the bane of my existence >_>)
I’ll still draw but it may be slower than usual. I have college courses to focus on and some other things too (I miss my freedom ;-;)
Anyway, hope you enjoy this soft little moment between these two :3 Makoto loves being pampered by Yuma, even if he doesn’t admit it.
#whumpcode#rain code#master detective archives: rain code#rain code spoilers#yuma kokohead#makoto kagutsuchi#makoyuma#pixeldoodles#my art#sick comfort#I’m kinda back w art??? but not really#i just figured I’d try drawing SOMETHING this month#anyway enjoy the sillies#rice porridge be the token sick anime food#idt they have soup over there lol xD#I can’t draw a spoon properly to save my life lol#i deleted the traditional version for a reason lol#having them domestically care for and spoil each other brings me so much happiness and comfort <3#Yuma is just happy that despite being so weak that he can’t move Makoto still manages to eat the food anyway

Four years ago, I drew my first ever finished digital art piece, using a Huion 420 tablet off of Amazon, and Krita. I was so proud of it, I showed it off to my friends and family on instagram, and I didn’t think I could get any better than this. Fast forward to the next year, and I drew it again, just to see how much better I could make it.
This time I used a Wacom tablet with Krita. It was one of the cheaper ones, but still an upgrade. I was even more proud of this one, but I wasn’t really that happy with it. I didn’t like how Papyrus turned out, and it seemed so awkwardly spaced and posed. I knew I still had more to learn, and I rushed it, since I didn’t think I could do any better. I then decided to redraw it again the next year.
This time I used Ibis Paint X and a small stylus on my phone. I was ecstatic with how this came out. I thought this was the absolute best I could ever do, but I still had little nitpicks about it. Again, I struggled a lot with drawing Papyrus, but this time I was also unhappy with the colors and shading, and how Sans was drawn (I have no idea why I made him thicc). But again, I redrew it the next year.
This one was a huge confidence booster for me. I had just gotten a brand new laptop from my parents: A Lenovo Yoga, with a Wacom bamboo ink stylus. It was the best gift I ever received, but on top of that, they got me Clip Studio Paint PRO. So I was ready to make some good ass art. This time I sketched everything out on paper, then finished it in CSP. I even attempted a background, which didn’t come out too bad. Papyrus doesn’t look horribly off model, and the poses and composition overall was just better. I used a clean sketch for the lineart, since that was a big struggle with my previous versions, and I used colors other than black and white for shading. After I made this, I felt like I didn’t need to continue redrawing it, because I thought I was at my peak.
I redrew it this year.
I used my Lenovo Yoga, but this time I had a Wacom bamboo plus, and Clip Studio Paint EX. I added more characters, and took a little bit more inspiration from the original, but I mostly wanted it to feel more alive. I finally perfected how I draw Papyrus, and Toriel, Asgore, and Frisk aren’t statues anymore. I showed off what I’ve learned about lighting and shading, did actually clean lineart, and I even did a full background! I’m so proud of this, and so happy with how far I’ve come as an artist, and I can’t wait to see what my future self draws next year.

Christmas Tree (Professor!Ben x OFC!Lydia)
A Merry Fic-Mas - December 22
Part of A Merry Fic-Mas: A Pedro Boys Holiday Fic Calendar - click for masterlist.
Follow my writing blog @ladameecrit and turn on notifications to keep up to date with my fics!
Pairing: Professor!Ben (Mr Ben AU) x OFC!Lydia
Word count: 908
Rating: Mature; 18+ MDNI
Warnings: Allusions to smut; mild swearing; established relationship; references to Christmas but secular.
A/N: A little imagine from the Visiting universe - this isn’t a flash forward, because Visiting is as-yet unfinished and still seeking a resolution, but I wanted to write for these two in a Christmas setting again. (And I couldn't resist that gif from The Bishop's Wife!)
MDNI banner by @cafekitsune
You draw the living room curtains and step back to survey your handiwork. Your first Christmas tree together, and you’d wanted it to be just right.
Ben stands in the middle of the doors that divide the living room from the dining room and kitchen, oohing and aahing at the tall tree shining with hundreds of tiny lights that reflect off the many baubles you’ve hung from its branches.
“Hit the lights, baby,” you ask, “you can’t really see if the lights look right unless you have darkness.”
He does as he’s bid, and the living room is illuminated only by the cosy glow of the stove in the fireplace and the warm white of the Christmas tree. You screw up your eyes to assess the overall effect, using a trick your grandfather had taught you years before.
“You think it’s okay, Ben?” You turn to face him, smiling at the way the gentle light of the tree picks out his handsome features and the twinkle in his eyes as he takes it in.
“It’s…perfect. You are so talented, Lyddie.”
You beam at his praise. “It’s just a case of working out where everything needs to go. And we can add to the baubles over time - I know most of these are from my original collection, but soon there’ll be ones that are ours, with our memories attached to them.”
There’s no response. You turn back to see if he’s still there, and notice that he’s fiddling with the stereo system in the dining room, carefully placing a record on the turntable and setting the stylus to the right track.
The intro begins, and Ben spins to face you with a mischievous look on his face. He starts to dance in your direction as the familiar opening of the song plays from the speakers.
“Baby, what is going on?”
He wraps an arm around your waist and takes your hand, pulling you to him and leading you into the rhythm of the song. As the vocal begins, Ben joins in, mimicking Bruce Springsteen’s New Jersey rasp:
“Merry Christmas, baby
You sure did treat me nice
Merry Christmas, baby
You sure did treat me niiiiice
I feel just like I’m liviiin’
Livin’ in para- shit, Lyd, I can’t sustain that, sorry.”
You throw your head back and laugh, wrapping your arms around his neck and swaying your hips in time to the music. “Just dance with me, darling man.”
Ben’s coffee-brown eyes shine, cheeks flushing a little. He brings his hands to your hips and moves with you, his body flush against yours. He can’t help join in again, in his usual voice, for the bridge:
“Santa came down the chimney
Half past three
With lots of nice little presents for
Lyddie and me”
You both giggle as he reaches again for your hands, twirling you around and under his arm before bringing you back into hold. He looks so beautiful in the soft light from the tree and the fire: like pure comfort and love distilled in human form. You can’t help but nuzzle in to his chest as the song enters the final bridge and chorus.
“How’d you get to be so good at dancing, Ben?”
He kisses your hair and you can hear him smile. “My parents. They always used to dance together in the house during the holidays, they’d go dancing at weekends sometimes - it was their thing.” You feel him pull you a little closer. “My dad had moves. And when I was a little kid, I asked him to teach me.”
You chuckle, humming happily against his broad chest, clad in a soft, dark blue plaid flannel shirt. “So you’ve been working on your moves since you were a little kid?”
He laughs in agreement. “Kinda. I think I just looked at them and thought I’d like to have that, someday. Someone to dance with you, no matter if it’s just at home.” He pulls away slightly and looks at you. “I dunno, it just seemed so…loving.”
As the E Street Band plays the final bars of the song, you lean in and caress Ben’s handsome face before kissing him. “It was loving. It is loving.” You can’t help but run your hands over his back and down to the waistband of his jeans, hooking your fingers against the denim so you can bring him tight to your body and walk him over to the couch.
His lips find yours again as you lie back on the sofa, Ben’s warm body between your legs and your fingers working to unbutton his shirt as he slips his hands under your oversized denim shirt and reaches for your breasts, pulling a whine of pleasure from you. You move one of his big hands to the waistband of your leggings, encouraging him to tug them down as you fumble to unbuckle his belt and unzip his jeans.
He pauses for a moment to take you in: the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen, without question. If he said this now you’d roll your eyes and brush it off, pointing to your bare face and wrinkles and wobbles and greys and the slightly schlubby clothes you’re wearing for putting up the tree - but here, now, about to make love and with the lights from the Christmas tree sparkling in your eyes so full of love and affection, he thinks you might just be at your most beautiful.

new blog post: new tablet!
new blog post on https://mizkit.com/new-tablet/
new tablet!
I made a DECISION about the Android tablet vs a new Surface Pro, which ultimately came down to the question of: do I want to be able to read comics on my new device, or write? Because Android has the Marvel Unlimited app, which Windows does not, but Windows has the Scrivener app, which Android does not.
I decided in favor of reading comics. LOL. Possibly not the world’s best choice, but OTOH, look, the Surface isn’t dead yet, and also, I CAN write in not-Scrivener, I’ve just gotten used to it. So I decided to get a Samsung Galaxy 9 FE+, which is vastly, vastly less expensive than a Pro and also came with a stylus, which I’d have to buy for the Pro. So I got the Samsung, and after some trial and error found a case for it that lets me rotate it to horizontal or vertical (necessary for reading comics easily), and now I am Pleased. Although I do need to find stickers to put on it now.
Literally the first thing I did after setting it up was read the first of Gail Simone’s run on Uncanny X-Men, and I haven’t really read the X-Men for years so I only vaguely knew what was going on, but it still gave me Feels and made me think I’d made the right choice.
The second thing I did was open up Clip Studio and do a doodle, and oh my god, the 8 year difference in stylus sensitivity is insane. Not that it’s magically made me a brilliant artist, but I did a quick, IDK, maybe ten minute version (as opposed to the half hour or so I put in before) of that “realistic human eye” task I had the other day?
The sensitivity makes it WAY WAY WAY more like drawing with a pen or pencil! I did most of this with one setting, and only changed the point size for the pen for the lil bits over at the right corner of the eye and maybe some of the iris, I forget now. But I’m THRILLED at how much more control it offered!!! I’m really looking forward to digital sketching with this!

Here’s my note before I’ll get started….
(NO COPYING OR PLAGIARIZING FROM ME AND ONE OF MY CLOSEST FRIEND’S WORK! THAT INCLUDES OUR CHARACTERS, DESIGNS, STUFF, ETC. IMPOSTERS AND SEXBOTS ARE NOT WELCOME TO FOLLOW MY BLOG WHATSOEVER! 😡 That will be all….I mean it.)
I’ve been saving this from last month after test out my recent stylus pens. Originally that I’m supposed to show it sooner if it wasn’t for the difficulty of our family’s home router. ➡️ Link Here
Nevertheless, here’s that I finally wanted to share with my stylus pens for anyone can check out. Make that two each because I happened to have another “Blackweb” brand stylus pen from few years ago. It was a long story to explain, but let’s just say I got it from the program as a gift they give me.
Anyways, this takes place back in April. 28th where I take on photo shoots of my pens. Having to compared those of mine, the newer “StylusHome” brand was bigger than my electronic stylus pens. Not only that, but the caps set of four on each tips. The thing where I opened from the electronic pen caps leads to the USB sockets to plug with. I’d used micro-USB cables to charge of my electric pens, but not for my less-tech pens as it set on four caps for each sides.
So yeah. I’m making this as a comparison between these pens; different likewise. I also took some edits to add words to describe here, but hoping you can understand. Though you wondering about having to check those in drawing test? Well, I sure do have it. ⬇️
I’ve got my recorded video through 8:11 to 8:19 A.M. after using my stylus pens of writing and scribbling. Though I also took hours of edit words that was available on my PicsArt app. Looks like I’ll be using that technique for my upcoming videos the same thing where my Filipino friend did.
As you can see from the results, they’re pretty identical that I’ve traced in. However, thought it’ll be okay if I can go with my new stylus pens.
No matter why though, I’ll be keeping with my previous electronic pens that it still working as of today. Hope you guys enjoy this post I’ve saved.

Making Up For Lost Time
I’ve wanted to write some blog posts that were larger compared to some of my latest ones. But I was too busy with important schoolwork. It didn’t help that the pollution in my country grew to the point where I couldn’t focus on the things I loved that weren’t Pokémon.
Thankfully, things have gotten better for me. For one, some close acquaintances are actually doing something to combat the air quality problems and the people who cause them. I’ve also recovered both physically and mentally. Now I can go back to working on the things I couldn’t do all those weeks ago.
It’s time to make up for all the time I lost!
JULY 17TH
I finally found all the orange stakes in Pokémon Violet! When I went to find the shrine for the next legendary Pokémon, I found out that it was in a completely different location.
And when I touched it, a Pokémon that WASN’T Chi-Yu popped out.
What is this thing, and why doesn’t its fur match up with the color of the shrine/stakes?
After one Master Ball, I managed to add it to my collection.
If it has something to do with swords, then why doesn’t Chien-Pao lower every other Pokémon’s Attack?
JULY 18TH
I spent most of the time I had for the day collecting shiny Pokémon.
I first went back in time to Hisui so I could trade this shiny Sylveon I caught in a Max Raid battle for another shiny Pokémon I haven’t gotten yet. After HOURS of waiting and haggling, I was eventually able to trade it for a shiny Yanma.
And with Yanma, the Yanma line has finally been completed.
Before I moved on to the next game, I had to release another Pokémon. And when I did, something happened.
Apparently, Pokémon you release in this game leave behind gifts for you. I’ve never seen this behavior since I never release any of the Pokémon I have. (Outside of specific situations...)
At least it was something useful.
After all of that, I moved onto Pokémon Brilliant Diamond Version to trade the Drapion I had. Thankfully, I found someone who was willing to trade something good to me. (Whatever that Pokémon is, you’ll just have to visit the Shiny Collection to find out.)
I was also fortunate to fight in a few battles. Naturally, I won them all. Even after 2 months, I’m still the best!
I should draw with my stylus more. (If only it wasn’t so terrible.)
I also managed to get another shiny Pokémon in a trade. The second shiny Unown I’ve ever owned!
It’s not an S. But it’ll do for now. (I could catch shiny versions of the other Unown and create a new Unown laboratory. But I think I’ll save that for later.)
JULY 20TH
I was kind of busy with schoolwork that day. I battled someone in Violet Version and I managed to get over whatever I was worried about the previous day. I even finished that assignment I mentioned earlier.
JULY 21ST
I managed to improve my battle skills. I feel like I can make smarter decisions now that my brain is getting the oxygen it needs.
I got a Charizard through an event. It has a Dark Tera Type. (Although, I don’t know why anyone would change it to THAT...)
I’m not sure WHY it has my name registered to it. (It was supposed to be someone else’s.)
I guess this makes Charizard the first event Pokémon I’ve caught that has a Classic Ribbon. (I should take him back to Sinnoh with me so I can win him even more ribbons.)
To improve my brain’s capabilities, I went to the academy to take on the Battle class.
I’m pretty sure the Treasure Hunt ended a month ago. (I hope I don’t cause any trouble by bringing a legendary Pokémon to this class.)
Then this class could become on par with the classes at Earl’s Pokémon Academy.
But it doesn’t completely restore their HP. (Most of the time...)
If they feel that way, they should have gone with a Pokémon that was right for the job.
The midterms are here already? I guess this class really is the one I excel at the most.
To be honest, an indoor area would be a more ideal place to hold a test like this.
A perfect A+. And THIS is what I get for it. (Captures the education system perfectly.)
Time to take on the last few lessons.
But will Auto-Battles increase a Pokémon’s specific stats?
Hopefully that hacker isn’t someone who comes to this school on a daily basis...
I wish the lessons in this class would go over stuff like this. Pokémon Stadium 2 went over battle basics in a much better way.
But what about Triple Battles? Or Sky Battles?
But they’ll be no good if their stats weren’t trained properly.
Eventually, I managed to complete the final exam and pass the class. Now that I’m done with this one, it’s off to Art.
JULY 22ND
When I was about to exit my dorm room, the map stated that Penny was somewhere in the main hall.
I mean, that WAS the plan for the admins, wasn’t it?
It HAS been a few months since they’ve reformed. Life should have improved for them in that time.
That should cover the previous week. I’d focus on battling more. But I want to go back to drawing. It’s been so long since I’ve sketched anything...

Story Time: Get a load of what happened to me at Starbucks today.
There’s a running joke among people who know me personally that I unwittingly go out in public with a sign on my forehead stating “I Am Non-Threatening. Come Talk To Me.” Because if there’s a chance a bizarre conversation with a total stranger is going to happen, I’m typically the person it happens to.
Some context: I have been pretty darn sick this week. (It’s not Coronavirus, don’t worry.) Since the work in my queue for my day job is comprised entirely of audio narration right now, and I currently sound like a waterlogged Demi Moore, I haven’t been able to work these last couple of days. As a result, I’ve been using my down time to knock out as much of Manu’s redesign as possible. Today, to ensure I didn’t spend the day languishing in sinus misery, I medicated the crap out of myself and took Manu to the Starbucks down the block from my son’s day care.
I hit the bathroom, then picked an empty table, but as soon as I sat down with my venti Comfort Tea and started tweaking the inks on my iPad, I felt the eyes of the man next to me looking over my shoulder.
When I looked up, he had his phone out. “I’m sorry,” he said (in a thick accent I couldn’t place geographically), “I don’t want to disturb. I notice you art. You are artist!”
I tried to smile. “Yes, I’m... Well, I’m trying to be,” I croaked.
He leaned in, like he was sharing a secret.
“I am artist, too.”
He stuck out his hand.
I gently took it, grateful for the bathroom trip I just took in which I washed the scourge off of my fingers.
“Can I?” he asked, holding his phone up.
“Take a picture? Uh... sure,” I said. It’s not like he would be able to steal Manu out from under me or anything, I figured. The panel I was tweaking was magnified out to Guam.
“I am artist. Architect and Designer,” he clarified while he steadied his phone over my iPad. “I am Ilker. What is your name?”
“I’m Venessa” I said, trying to be polite. This, I thought warily, is precisely how I get myself into trouble. I’m too damn nice.
“You know, I come to America twenty years ago from Turkey...”
I put down my stylus. This was going to be a while.
“I like Turkey,” he explained. “I like the country and I like the people. But I am artist. I am not... religious man.”
I nodded.
“I told my wife I was going to go to America and she said, “what are you going to do? You don’t have job! You don’t have money! No Visa!” And I said, “I am artist and architect. I will paint and sell my paintings.
“So I come to America alone. To New York City. I sit outside, and I paint. And people, they liked my paintings. They bought them. This one for $30, that one for $50.
“One day, a man comes over to me and he say, “I like your painting. I see you are also architect.” And he gives me his number and asks me to go to meeting at his office. Because he wants to offer me a job. He starts to talk about a building contract.
“I tell him I don’t know anything about contracts. I have no Visa. I am not American citizen. But he says, “That’s okay. I will take care of everything. You will have nothing to worry about.” And this man, he gave me a job. $173,000 a year. And my wife, he gave her a job too. She was project assistant. I bring her and my two daughters over from Turkey.”
“Wow,” I said, not fully believing the veracity of what sounded like a full-on immigration fairy tale.
“Here,” said Ilker, unlocking his phone and opening up his Facebook app. “I show you my work.” He paused and looked up at me. “I am interrupting. You don’t mind?”
At this point, I was invested. I had to see. Because whatever he was about to show me would either prove or disprove this yarn he was spinning. “Please,” I said, gesturing for him to go ahead.
He opened his photos and my jaw dropped. His work... was UNREAL.
“This is building I designed on Madison Ave.... And this one in Chelsea...”
Holy crap. I had just been to Chelsea with my sister last month on a trip to see a broadway show. I had crossed the intersection of the building he was, at this moment, telling me he designed.
He flipped through more buildings. These, he’d designed in Washington, DC. In Bethesda. In Arlington. All beautiful, streamlined, modern structures I had visited and parked my car in front of. He told me he did much of his concept work freehand. That he worked exclusively in natural media. His preferred media was pen, ink, watercolors, and chalks.
Between photos of his wife and daughters, he went on to show me photos from the RUSSIAN EXHIBITION OF HIS ARCHITECTURE ARTWORK.
Y’all, I was stunned. I couldn’t believe the talent I was sitting next to. Scattered among these gloriously rendered images of some of the most beautiful building concepts I’d ever seen were paintings of scenes in Central Park, the National Mall, and nudes from a life-drawing session he attends from time to time.
When he was done flipping through his phone, he looked at me and smiled. “I hope you don’t mind that I interrupt you. I show you all this because what you are doing is very good. And you should be encouraged. To draw is to make beauty.”
I nodded, a lump in my throat. “Thank you,” I managed. “Your work is astonishing. I don’t even know what to say. What is your name again?”
He held out his hand once more. “Ilker Kocahan,” he said. “I am getting more coffee. Can I get you one?”
I looked at my still-full venti cup. “No thank you. But here, please take my card.”
He held my dinky business card like I’d handed him a treasure and thanked me.
Then Ilker got his coffee, and left the coffee shop.
At some point in his ramblings he talked about America as a place of dreams. How he credits this country with helping him rise to the top of his field where he is now able to sell his paintings for $800-$1000 a piece now that he’s retired. My heart ached to hear him talk about that, knowing how our leadership’s positions on immigrants have taken such a dark and horrifying turn.
Imagine the buildings and museums and public places that would never have been if a business man in the park hadn’t lifted up a Turkish painter who spoke little English.
And now that painter was paying it forward on me.
I still feel pretty darn sick. I’ve still got body aches and a nose that has taken the rest of my face hostage.
But today was a really good day. And I just wanted to share it with you in case you are looking for reasons to keep drawing/painting/dancing/writing. It all counts and it is all good.
If you would like to see Ilker Kocohan’s work, please click here.
#Immigrants. We get the job done.#Edit: I’m sorry this post is so long. I made the mistake of writing it on my cell and now I can’t put any read-mores in. ☹️

If I Fell For You (Part 15) - Trouble In Paradise
Summary: The reader is enjoying settling into her newfound children’s book career and shares how important the bracelet she gave Jensen is to her. A rainy day allows the reader to enjoy her shift into motherhood despite all of the bumps that go with it. But not everything is smooth sailing for the happy couple...
Masterlist
Pairing: Jensen x nanny!reader
Word Count: 5,600ish
Warnings: language, angst, mention of past abuse, nightmares, major angst
A/N: Uh oh. Big uh oh. Please enjoy and let me know what you think!
________
Two Weeks Later
“Honey bun,” sang Jensen as he stepped into your home office you’d set up in the small reading room in the house. “Must you work today?”
“I do occasionally have to work on that drawing thing,” you said. He pouted and laid out on the daybed, picking up a copy of the third book. “Give me another hour to finish with these pages.”
“Can I hang out and watch you draw?” he asked.
“Knock your socks off,” you said. You picked up your stylus again and went back to your pad, Jensen sitting up and watching from the other side of the room. “You can sit closer if you want.”
He got up and pulled over a chair, crossing his legs in it.
“I basically draw using my stylus and this pad and it shows up on my laptop screen,” you said.
“We could get you a better screen, like your own separate work computer. I know your stories are picking up a lot of steam.”
“I’m okay for now. All I need to do is finish illustrating this book and my five book deal is done and ready for print,” you said.
“Can I make a request?”
“I would love to put in a giraffe for Zepp but the story takes place in the woods,” you said.
“Baby giraffe? Maybe just in the background?” he asked.
You backed out of your current page and went to the last two where the foxes and wolves were playing with their friends. You tapped on a tree and erased it, sketching out a loose shape.
“Look up a giraffe for me?” you asked. He tapped away on his phone and pulled up a picture. “Thanks.”
You drew a picture of a rough giraffe, softening it some before adding colors.
“You’re really good at that,” he said.
“The characters are easy. Backgrounds can get boring,” you said. You went back to your original set of pages and worked quietly, Jensen watching carefully. “Yes?”
“Just wanna spend time with you is all,” he said, resting his head on your shoulder.
“Okay, baby,” you said. You worked for another hour, Jensen asking the occasional question but mostly staying silent and close by. After you sent off the pages for review you turned to him, Jensen offering a soft smile in return. “All set with work for the day.”
“Awesome,” he said.
“Where’s the munchkins?”
“A movie,” he said. You ran your fingers through his hair and he leaned into it. “Tell me a secret.”
“A secret? I don’t think I have too many of those left from you,” you said. He opened his eyes and looked at you through his lashes. “What?”
“You said you got this on vacation,” he said, holding up his wrist, the bracelet you’d put on him two weeks ago still there. “When we were down there, I was talking to Ray and he kinda implied it wasn’t just a souvenir.”
“I was upset that day when he bought it for me. It meant I was safe was all,” you said.
“How long after did your mom…”
“A few months. She went on bed rest after that trip.”
“Y/N, I know when you’re holding back, honey. I would never judge or tell anyone anything. You know that.”
“You got hurt because you lost someone and you got hurt and it sucks right? But it’s kinda like something happened and then you heal from it right?”
“Yeah…” he said. “What don’t I know?”
“You know how anxious you were to get in the car and drive down to the beach?” you asked as he nodded. “You’ve never been afraid of a person, Jensen. It’s like that feeling...but everyday and you’re expected to live your life normally when you constantly have that over your head.”
He was quiet, glancing past you as the room grew darker from some passing clouds outside.
“Canada wasn’t the first time you saw your father since you were adopted, was it,” he said.
“You wouldn’t believe what a good lawyer and shitty laws will do for a piece of shit like that,” you said.
“You were a kid.”
“With zero physical evidence. Everything was circumstantial. So he got out and he came to apologize or some bullshit and Ray decked him.”
“The more I learn about Ray, the more I like him.”
“My mom kicked him in the nuts.”
“I really like that woman,” he said. You smiled and he moved his chair closer, pulling you into his lap. “I don’t mean to make you talk about your dad. I was curious was all.”
He went to take off the bracelet when you put a hand over it.
“I don’t want to remind you of something bad, sweetheart.”
“Like I said, I was upset. Very upset and in public and I went down to the beach to try to hide away. Ray bought that for me and told me I was safe when he put it on me. All it means to me is that you’re safe.”
“What about you? What do you have?” he asked quietly. You cocked your head and moved your hand to rest over his chest. “Alright, sort of a dumb question.”
“Not dumb,” you said, trailing your fingers down his chest.
“Guess you’ll just have to stay as close as humanly possible.”
“I don’t have a problem with that,” you said.
“Do you have a restraining order against your father?”
“No but that’s only because Ray managed to get him kicked out of the country. He found some loophole law. He was born in the Yukon so technically he’s not American and he got him kicked back.”
“Scratch that. Ray is my new favorite person,” he said. “If only we could send him someplace we’ll never visit like...a deserted island. Or Hell.”
“I appreciate the thought but I’m not scared of him anymore,” you said. “I am however afraid our plans of lunch at the brewery are going to get rained out.”
“We can enjoy ourselves right here. I’ve never heard a complaint yet about my grilling.”
“You know what? I got the perfect idea.”
“Okay,” said Jensen, sliding the foil packet off the grill and onto JJ’s plate. You’d decided to have lunch on the grill, sitting out under the covered back patio off the playroom. It was pouring rain but you were plenty dry there. “Chicken, marinara sauce and cheese. Then we got chicken, ketchup and baby carrots for Arrow. Zeppy wanted to try barbecue sauce and onion which sounded good to me and then Y/N went for the salmon and lemon.”
You helped the twins open up their foil packets and get their food on their plates, dicing up the chicken for them before going to your own plate.
“Daddy,” said Zeppelin while he chewed on a big piece of chicken. Jensen hummed and worked on his own food. “Can we play race cars after lunch?”
“Sure,” he said, JJ shaking her head.
“I don’t wanna play cars,” she said. Zeppelin stared at her and his bottom lip wobbled. “You’re a cry baby.”
“JJ, that’s rude,” you said, Jensen glancing at you and nodding. “Apologize to your brother.”
“Sorry,” she mumbled.
“We’re gonna play cars after lunch and you’re welcome to join,” said Jensen. “Your brother goes along with what you girls want to play quite a bit so I think you can do the same for him.”
“I still don’t wanna play cars,” she mumbled.
“You play cars with the Padalecki boys all the time,” you said.
“Not little kid cars,” she said. “He doesn’t know how to play right.”
You saw Zeppelin getting upset again and sighed.
“There’s no wrong way to play,” you said. “Zepp’s littler than you. You gotta be the big sister and do what he wants sometimes.”
“Mom would have played dress up,” she grumbled. “Not stupid cars.”
“Enough,” said Jensen. “You’re old enough to know better.”
“I didn’t do anything wrong.”
“Your brother wants to play cars. We played horses all morning long and you barely let him have a turn at that so like I said, we’re gonna play what he wants and you are welcome to join us but if you don’t want to, you can play something else,” he said.
“Baby,” she said under her breath. Jensen didn’t catch it but you did.
“JJ you’re in timeout after lunch. Ten minutes,” you said.
“I didn’t-”
“You just called him a baby. You want to make it fifteen?” you asked.
“You’re not my mom! You can’t give me timeouts,” she said.
“Half an hour now,” said Jensen. She stared at him and he shook his head. “Eat your lunch.”
Zeppelin spent half of it crying quietly and JJ barely touched hers before she was following Jensen inside. You threw your head back and sighed before you went inside to get some tissues. When you came back out Arrow was hugging him tightly.
“Let’s clean you up, buddy,” you said as you squatted down beside them. She let go of him and you wiped off his face and helped him blow his nose. “Feel better?”
“We can play dress up,” he said. You picked him up and hoisted him on your hip.
“We’re gonna play cars. Arrow, do you want to play with us?” you asked. She smiled and nodded. “Hey how about you go wash your hands and then you can bring out the bucket of cars and we’ll play out here. How’s that sound Zepp?”
“Okay,” he said. Arrow went inside and you carried him around as you collected the trash and threw it in the bag you brought out. You tied it up and left it in the corner to put in the bin later before you you walked to the edge of the covered patio, rain coming down at a decent rate. “Y/N you’re my mom right?”
“I’m one of your moms,” you said. “I’m gonna adopt you that way everybody can know I am though.”
“Cool,” he said softly, resting his head on your shoulder. “Mom can we play in the rain?”
“Hear any thunder?” you asked. He shook his head. “See any lightning?”
“Nuh uh,” he said.
“Then we can play in the rain all you want,” you said. You walked out to the grass and spun around with him, getting a giggle out of him. “Did you hear that?”
“Hear what?” he asked. You spun around again and he laughed.
“There it is again!” you said. He giggled and you spun around a few times until you were dizzy and took a seat. He hugged you and kissed your cheek as you noticed Jensen leaning against the post of the patio. He was smiling and you hopped up with Zeppelin, waving him around in the air until you were back under cover. You set him down and he ran over to Arrow, picking out his favorite cars from the bucket and handing her some.
“Well that might have been one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen,” he said.
“You took a picture, didn’t you.”
“Oh several,” he said. He glanced back at the twins and then at you. “It clicked for you just now didn’t it.”
“Being a mom? Yeah.”
“You didn’t look to me on how to discipline JJ and you made him feel better and you made him laugh. You went full mom there and I’ve kinda been waiting for that.”
“I know it’s just playing they’re arguing over but I just hate...there is so much of you in him,” you said.
“I know and that feeling will never go away but it means you love ‘em and loving them is my only requirement for us working so this was actually a really good thing.”
“Those two are so sweet,” you said.
“It’s the twin thing. Oh what fun we have to look forward to when they are teenagers and they lie to us for one another,” he chuckled.
“Yeah but I’ll take it. Did you really give her a half hour timeout?”
“Fifteen minutes. She needs to share more and he doesn’t like confrontation so he goes along with what she wants but it’s not her road or the highway.”
“She’s been a little…”
“I know. Since we told them about the engagement,” he said. “We gotta talk to her on her own.”
“Let me take a crack at her first?” you asked.
“You got a hunch?”
“I don’t think having a mom again is a problem. I think the idea of losing a mom again is.”
“That makes sense considering she was attached to your hip before all this.”
“I’m gonna go see if I can get to the bottom of this. Now go play cars,” you said. He kissed your cheek and you headed inside, drying off some with a towel in the laundry room before you went up to JJ’s bedroom. You knocked and cracked open the door, catching her splayed out on her bed. “JJ. Can we talk?”
She rolled and put her back to you. You sat down on the edge of her bed and took a deep breath.
“You know your brother did what you wanted all day. You have to share,” you said. She didn’t say anything and you lay back on the bed, turning your head. She rolled back the other way and you sat up. She rolled again and you tilted your head back. “JJ do you want me to be your mom?”
“No,” she mumbled.
“Are you lying?” She didn’t move and you sat back, her face scrunched up. “Are you scared if I’m your mom something bad will happen to me?”
“I don’t want two dead moms,” she said.
“I have two dead moms,” you said. She blinked her eyes open and sat up. “My first mom, I never met her. She died giving birth to me.”
“You only had a dad when you were born?” she asked. You nodded and pulled her into your lap. “Did he get married again?”
“No. My dad was very mad my mom died. He took that out on me. He was a bad guy. He went to jail and I got adopted by my mom when I was your age. Ray was her boyfriend. He acted like he was my dad in a lot of ways. I was sixteen when my mom died. I understand it hurts, sweetie, and that it’s scary and you don’t ever want to feel like that again.”
“I thought if I was bad you and daddy wouldn’t...and then I don’t have to feel bad again.”
“I am so sorry honey but you can’t stop that feeling from never coming back. The only way you could not get it would be to not love anyone or anything and that’s not a life at all. It’s the price you pay for loving someone. Your mom was an accident. But Daddy is young and I’m even younger and I promise you will not have to feel that way about me for a very, very long time.”
“How long?”
“How about fifty years?”
“Fifty years? That’s forever,” she said.
“I’ll give you fifty years if I can be your mom and you stop picking on Zepp. Deal?”
“Okay. I’m sorry I made him cry.”
“I’m not the one that needs an apology,” you said. “Now do you want stay in here all by yourself or do you want to come play with us?”
“I can play?” she asked.
“Absolutely,” you said. You got up and carried her down on your back, setting her down to let her run off out to the porch. Jensen got up from his seat and held up a finger, ducking back inside to where you were.
“That’s what I like to see,” he said as she gave Zeppelin a hug and he handed her a car.
“I did have to promise not to die for fifty years.”
“Fifty? You got off easy. I had to promise a hundred after the accident,” he chuckled. “I should have noticed she was scared.”
“I have more experience being a scared little girl than you do. I got experience with letting people get close again too,” you said.
“How’s that working out for ya?” he smirked.
“He’s lucky he’s hot,” you said. He threw his arm over your shoulders and grinned. “Do you want to get married in the fall?”
“This fall?” he asked.
“Can we pull it off that fast?” you asked.
“Yeah. We don’t have to book a venue which is the hardest part. I don’t see why not. What’s the rush?” he asked.
“It’s easier to adopt them if we’re married,” you said. “I don’t really want to wait longer than we have to if that’s alright.”
“I’d say let’s go drive down to city hall and get a justice of the peace right now if I knew my mother wouldn’t kill me for it. How about I call up the lawyer and ask him to start prepping the paperwork as if we already were so it’s all set to go,” he said.
“You have a lawyer?” you asked. “They’d do that?”
“Y/N, honey. My taxes alone frighten me not to mention I own a business with employees and what qualifies as a business write off still confuses me and wait you don’t have a lawyer for your book deal?”
“Should I have one?”
“Greg is your lawyer now,” he said. “He’s good. He’ll do all the paperwork for us.”
“Oh good cause all the forms online were confusing the hell out of me,” you said. He shook his head and pulled you in close.
“Silly goose,” he said, a loud boom of thunder shaking the house. “Let’s get the crew inside before it pours.”
“Who wants to build a fort?” you asked that afternoon. JJ jumped up and down on the couch and Jensen walked in with an arm full of blankets and sheets. Three little hands shot up and Jensen lazily tossed the blankets on the couch, covering the three of them.
“Hm, where’d those three munchkins run off to…” he said, Arrow ducking her head out first, hair all in her face. Jensen giggled and she rolled her eyes, the other two climbing out. “Alright. I’m gonna grab clothes pins and a few more things. You guys start designing.”
You stood back and let JJ organize, figuring out her first choice of blanket for a roof was too small. Jensen returned with a bag of clips, some twine and the step ladder, wrapping his arms around your waist and resting his head on your shoulder.
“How they doing?” he whispered.
“Picking out the roof,” you said, Arrow rushing over and grabbing his hand as Zeppelin climbed on JJ’s back and held up a sheet over the two of them with one hand. You smirked and she let out another eye roll.
“Daddy, can you pick up Zeppy so then he can put the blankie up? I told them they’re too small,” she said.
“Sure,” he said. “Tell me where you want it to go.”
Twenty minutes later the family room was covered with sheets, tied off to the stairs, chairs, the ceiling fan after Jensen broke out the larger ladder to get up there and assured you it wouldn’t bring the whole thing crashing down.
“Can we sleep in here tonight?” asked JJ.
“I don’t see why not,” you said. “There’s plenty of room on the couch. We’ll bring down your comforters when it’s bedtime,” you said.
“Can we watch Cars?” asked Zeppelin, glancing at JJ.
“Okay,” she said. She gave him a hug and picked him up, Jensen smiling to himself as he looked on.
“Can we get pizza for dinner like a real sleepover?” asked Arrow.
“We did cook up all the chicken at lunch,” you said, giving Jensen a side eye.
“Yeah we’ll get one,” he said. “Why don’t you turn on your movie okay? We’ll be right there.”
You let Jensen pull you into the kitchen, smirking as he picked you up and sat you on the counter.
“Seems like today’s crisis has been averted,” you said.
“I’m sure they’ll go back to tormenting each other tomorrow but I’ll take it,” he said, reaching into the drawer next to you, pulling out a menu. “So. You interested in pizza?”
“Oh that looks interesting,” you said, taking the pamphlet out of his hand and tapping at a special. “One cheese, one speciality, boneless wings and garlic bread? My little carb loving heart is in love.”
“She’s not the only one,” he said, leaning up on his tip toes and kissing you.
“Are you coming?” groaned JJ from in the fort. You shook your head and Jensen kissed your neck, even nibbling before he pulled back. You smacked his chest and he set the menu down, giving you a wink.
“We’re coming in right now. Don’t wait for us kiddo.”
You woke up sweating, Jensen shushing you, arms wrapped around you. You took a deep breath and caught the clock said it was almost three. You turned in his arms and buried your head in his chest, his hand rubbing up and down your back.
“You’re okay. Bad dream is all,” he said softly. You nodded and started to relax, flinching when there was more thunder. “Hey, it’s okay. Nothing’s gonna get ya.”
The thunder shook the house and you tensed up. Jensen pulled the covers over both your heads and you crammed in as close as humanly possible when more thunder hit.
“Honey look at me. Please look at me.” You lifted your head and saw a horrible face in front of you, a scream ripping out of your throat.
“Y/N,” you heard as you woke up absolutely drenched, Jensen’s hands on your face. “Honey, talk to me. Can you hear me?”
“Night terror,” you said quietly.
“Yeah, JJ used to have them. I didn’t know adults could get them,” he said.
“Can I have a cold washcloth? And some water?” you asked. He got out of bed and padded into the bathroom in his boxers, settling back into bed and handing you the water. You drank it down while he wiped off your face and neck, running it over your head. “Thanks.”
“You okay?” he asked.
“Mostly feel embarrassed.” He frowned and you put the glass on your nightstand, staring down at your sweaty shirt.
“Should I call Ray?”
“It was a stupid nightmare. I’m fine,” you said.
“You were sat up eyes wide open and talking and shouting and I couldn’t wake you up,” he said. “I know adults really shouldn’t be getting night terrors so maybe something triggered you or something during the day.”
“I know my triggers and I know when it’s just a stupid nightmare. Back off,” you said. You got out from under the hot covers and went outside to the balcony, the air nice and cool from the storm earlier. The slide of the door was loud in the the quiet and you rubbed your arm. “I’m sorry.”
“I’ve seen you have nightmares. That was a lot worse,” he said.
“I thought I saw someone watching the house earlier.”
“What?”
“It was the neighbor’s kid, the teenager. It was his friend and he came over late but I thought...it freaked me out. That on top of thinking about the fact my father is not rotting in a jail cell most likely sent me over the edge,” you said. He walked in front of you, resting his hands on your arms. “I’m okay. Needed some air was all.”
“Alright. Tell me if something like that happens again?” he asked. You hummed and he gave you a kiss. “Okay, sweetheart. Let’s head on back to bed.”
“What do you mean?” you growled into the phone the next evening. Jensen lifted his head from his book in the family room and you walked away, stepping out to the private patio area on the side of the house. “That’s not possible.”
“It’s been fifteen years. He has every legal right to be in the country.”
“In the country! He got an apartment seven minutes from where I live!” you said. “I have little kids here, Finn. Tell me there’s something I can do.”
“I can get a restraining order-”
“That doesn’t mean shit to him. I need him fucking deported. I need him gone.”
“Y/N, you know me. I have never agreed to it but he paid his debt as it was assigned and he quietly followed the law. He did what he was supposed to and I’m sorry but until he does something, I can’t do anything besides help you and your fiance’s family get a restraining order.”
“So until he does something horrible again, I can’t do anything about it.”
“Y/N.”
“No Finn. I appreciate the heads up but...I have to go.”
You hung up and squeezed your phone tight. He knew where you lived. He was minutes away and there was absolutely zero help until something went wrong. You sat on a bench and bounced your leg. Nothing could go wrong. You couldn’t let anything go wrong. Who knew what the son of a bitch would do to any one of them.
You stopped bouncing your leg just as you heard the door open. You lifted your head and stood, spinning around to Jensen standing there.
“Everything alright?”
“Actually no.”
“Who was on the phone?”
“My ex,” you said, swallowing. You crossed your arms and thought of the things Jensen had told you about acting and getting in character and all that. You were gonna destroy him. Fuck you were going to end up shattering him into a thousand pieces he’d never put back together.
You couldn’t really lie just to keep them away from him, could you?
You saw Arrow run past in the house and made your face hard. Broken heart but safe kids was worth it.
“I thought you didn’t talk to him anymore,” said Jensen. You turned up your chin and he smiled. “You are the worst actress in the world. Who was it really?”
“I think we’re moving too fast and I want to take a break and I would appreciate it if you gave me my space to figure this out on my own.”
“Uh, what?” he said. You brushed past him and he followed you in, all the way up to your bedroom. You got out a bag and he flipped it shut. “What the hell is going on? Who was on the phone?”
“My boyfriend,” you said. He stared at you and you sighed. “You’re a great guy but I’m sorry. I can’t do the house and kids thing. I want to go see the world and not be tied down and you’re just...you’re too damn old for me.”
“I don’t believe you.”
“Maybe you should have trusted your first instincts when you saw me and Doug,” you said. He stared at you while you shoved some clothes in a bag. You slung it over your shoulder and he caught the backside of it. You took off your ring and put it on the table by the door, Jensen dropping his hand. “I just can’t do this anymore. It wasn’t you. I’m sorry. I really need to go.”

I am begging to hear more about Satan/MC/Diavolo. Whatever crumbs you have to offer would be perfect.
pls I’m starving 👉👈
ELSEY CANNOT SHUT UP ABOUT SATAN/MC/DIAVOLO PART 1 INCOMING
My brain is kinda mushy atm so I'm not gonna go for anything particularly coherent here. I'm just gonna yell out ideas as they come to me,,, sorry Satan/MC/Dia this ship deserves better but Im a potato atm
Okay so these guys would make the BEST dates. You would go to so many cool places and they would show you a great time at each one, they'd both have SUCH a good time.
Genuinely they'd enjoy going on dates all together, to the point that most of your dates are group affairs!
They do both give each other private time though and they're actually SUPER supportive about it, happily working around one another's schedules and helping where they can.
To the point of Diavolo giving Satan's brothers pressing responsibilities so he has time alone with you, and Satan running interference with Luci or Barb - or even taking some of Dia's work on, himself! - to give him the same opportunity.
I hope you like travel because they will take you ALL OVER THE WORLD. The two of them have so many friends, so many connections, and such a zest for life, they're excited to go anywhere and everywhere with you.
You will have the MOST fun. Ever.
Diavolo is the kind of babe who would cheerfully take you and Satan to play Laser Tag (Satan's very good at it, but Dia has practice from playing shooters with Levi), and Satan will drag you to the openings of new stores (Prince DIAVOLO himself making a visit? Now Satan's making even MORE friends).
And whenever you have a place you want to go? These two are all over it! Satan is reading up on the background, the history, Diavolo is asking around, visiting the place or talking to people who have been there before.
Supporting your interests 1000% also. Diavolo is eager to talk about it, to converse with you and hear about everything you like about it.
He's completely shameless and non-judgemental and even if your hobby is, say, writing reader-insert fanfiction of yourself with attractive characters from video games you like.
Diavolo will get you chatting about which characters you like, why you like them, happily adding encouraging comments and insight. He's interested! Always!
Satan will research your interests and try to get into them with you after establishing his own understanding of them.
He wants to experience it himself, enjoy it independently, and form unique opinions to share with you when you get to talk about it!
Also likely to bring you merch or tools related to your hobbies. If you draw, he gets you ink, pens, a stylus, reference materials.
if you also read books, he looks up your favorite genres, the types of characters and storylines you like; if it's movies or anime, he'll even consult with Levi about tropes - and so on, so forth.
They WILL team up and they WILL surprise you with unbelievably thoughtful, and useful gifts, treats, or outings.
Diavolo paying for all the dates like the sugar daddy he is,,, Satan's not too proud to accept it at all (he'll get you presents on his own dime, personal ones).
But Satan does also try to bring something to the table with his personal connections and friends who tell him about interesting events and openings to take you to.
Even if you're more low energy, the two of them can provide more than enough zeal for visiting a new location or trying out a new thing.
If you can't really muster up much excitement at the moment the two will still be quite happy on their own, chatting each other up about what they like.
But they're also both excellent at reading your mood and you'll never feel left out.
Diavolo's likely to ask you how you're feeling, give you a chance to pop in; Satan is more likely to smile, squeeze your hand with quiet affection, changing the topic if you're not interested in engaging.
Always glances in your direction, pauses and smiles, space and moments left empty if there's something you want to say, and quickly filled without awkwardness if you don't feel up to it.
Satan's probably better at spending time with you when you're in a less energetic mood. If you read or go on your phone while he's in the room with you, he can happily just sit there in companiable silence.
That's really not the kind of thing Diavolo is into, but I think Satan can really open him up to that, and you could help a lot, too. Diavolo is pretty touched starved and attention starved; he wants interaction and affection.
The two of you together can get him hooked on comfortable silences, sitting next to one another while you enjoy your own activities.
Soon you and Satan will be on either side of Diavolo; Satan reading a book while their sides press together, you on your DDD leaning against the demon prince, just quietly doing your own thing while you are all present.
And Diavolo starts out a little restless, a little frustrated, worried when he gets hums and one word answers out of either of you...
But then he notices his free time, his time alone, slowly disappearing, how he sees you both all the time - when he's working, even - to the point that you feel like permanent fixtures of his life.
Neither you or Satan are ignoring him. You'll wordlessly message Barbatos to bring some tea when you see Diavolo getting tired, or Satan will quietly fetch reading materials on whatever policy or issue Diavolo is working on.
You accept kisses, let him sit beside you and rest his head on your shoulder, and Satan will meet his eyes once in a while with a soft smile; even in the silence, Diavolo realizes, there is love.
It fills the young demon lord's heart with the purest and sincerest joy... and your days are all the happier for it.
[To be Continued; I am NOT finished, I am STILL on my bullshit, THAT IS A PROMISE]
#shall we date om#diavolo#satan#diavolo x reader#satan x reader#satan x reader x diavolo#sandwiches#fluff#poly-ish#I LOVE IT I LOVE THESE DYNAMICS#long post... but is it like THAT long? hmm#obey me

Okay so my situation is looking more annoying than I thought. >< Its gonna be a while before I draw again…
mini-rant
So there are only 2 pen stylus’ that are compatible with my tablet, and the reason for that is the tablet is built into my laptop. I have an HP Spectre 2 in 1 built in and my older device that died was of a similar older model.
But for some reason the pen pressure worked a lot better on the older model so I was able to draw more smoothly. (Which is why I stubbornly kept using it until it finally died) This current device despite being a similar model to my last one, does not have that.
(current device on left- dead device on right)
The Wacom Bamboo stylus that I use to draw does work on my HP 2 in 1, but the pressure is not adjusted to where I can draw with fluid lines. The lines I draw are only thick. So it looks clunky and unsatisfying.
(example of attempted drawing on right)
I was thinking maybe connecting via bluetooth would help me adjust settings better but when I called the customer service they told me hp products have discontinued use of bluetooth and the device automatically connects. Which is all well and good but I was thinking registering a device may make it easier to adjust settings and pressure sensitivity
So I ordered the only other stylus that is compatible with this device and all I can do is hope it’ll work. If it doesn’t then I may need to get an actual tablet to draw on maybe for Christmas idk…if I can’t draw in the pressure I want to create the lines I want, then I prefer to not draw at all x-x (im very stubborn)
And my mom’s solution is to learn to use Procreate. No way. After how much trouble it caused my friend and seeing her struggle with using it, it sounds like I’ll hate it just as much… I currently draw using ClipStudio and thats what I’m most used to. And I prefer to stick with it (plus all my files for editing are clip files anyway lol)
Lesson learned: Don’t ever get a laptop with a built in tablet ever again. The stylus compatibility is way too limited >_>;
If anyone has recommendations for possible tablets to use or maybe advice for adjusting a pen’s pressure that I am unaware of, please lmk…I’m honestly still new to drawing with a tablet despite using the same one for years, so I know very little about it... ;w;
I may need to give up drawing for a short while. The laptop-tablet I usually drew on has officially died. It used the last of its strength to squeeze those last two drawings and then it died when I came home from my trip.
I used the charger to sustain its life but then I remembered that the battery life said “0%” while working on my last art. Meaning it was on its last remaining bits of energy. The battery in it has been dead but I kept using it until its last stand. And that day is today. It won’t even charge or turn on anymore.
It looks like I will have to buy a new stylus for my current laptop I use to continue drawing. The stylus I currently have isn’t compatible with it… But my autistic self likes to stick with my ways and it will be hard for me to get used to a new one…
I’m honestly very sad about it… 😢 So until I get used to this new one, you won’t see any art from me.
I hope I adapt to it quicker than I think…
#self repost#threads#technology rant#just venting my frustration…#its gonna suck not drawing for a week…#glad i was able to finish my last art before this happened or I would've been so mad x'D#still sucks that I can't draw for a while... ORZ

A request from @i-did-not-mean-to centered around our favorite soft dwarf, Ori!! I’ve placed this little one shot in the AU-verse of “Bookbinder//Songwriter”, as we’ve not met him yet in that fic, and I’m excited for the day he does make his appearance!!
I hope you enjoy this little one shot, my friend! And thank you so much for your love and support ALWAYS.
Peace and quiet was a hard thing to come by within this house. So when those few moments of silence truly hit, Ori knew he had to make the most of it. If it wasn’t Dori’s fussing over the usual–how the house looked, what Nori was up to, if Ori was focusing on his life goals, etc–then it was Nori’s constant shenanigans. Both of Ori’s brothers were loving, just as they cared for one another, but they were like night and day most times, and that could make for a very loud environment.
Especially when they were already loud to begin with!
Ori was typically stuck in the middle or sitting on the sidelines whenever those loud discussions happened, or whenever there was chaos of another sort unfolding, but nine times out of ten he wouldn’t have it any other way. Now, if he could just get Dori to stop smushing his cheeks as if he were five again, that would be lovely!
Silence. It was perfect for concentration. Ori had been working on setting up a proper portfolio with his drawings and design work that often were made into all sorts of different crafts. There were crochet and knitting patterns, but where his talent truly shined was with a pen. A beautiful pristine white stylus that grazed its way across a digital drawing pad with ease, guided by Ori’s steady hand and bright imagination.
Art was Ori’s niche in many forms. Weaving, drawing, and even a little bit of poetry on occasion, but where it truly mattered were the lines. That’s where this portfolio was coming into play. To compile a collection of drawings and new examples that might one day launch him into the big working world of animation and design. For now, Ori would just have to suffer working at the local tailor shop with Dori and using this quiet time to work on one of many side projects.
Or that was the hope until it all shattered with a yell that Ori should have been expecting.
“Little brother!”
The grimace that crawled across Ori’s face was inevitable as his head ducked some, clutching his tablet close to his chest and whining something fierce to himself. Again, he loved his brothers, but his brothers loved him just a little too much to leave him alone.
“Of course I’d find you holed up in your cave,” Nori’s overly cheery voice rang out as the door flew open. An auburn-haired storm was rolling through the house, sporting a wild grin and even wilder ideas, as always.
“Hi Nori,” Ori greeted with a voice that oozed patience, even if he didn’t feel it on most days.
“Working on something important, I wager? Or something perhaps naughty? Is that why you’re clutching your tablet so close to your chest?” One brow arched, Ori blushed, and Nori considered that a mission accomplished.
“No! Nothing like that, why do you always assume–” Ori bit the inside of his cheek, head still ducked and face aflame. “You’re teasing me…and I should know better.” Uncurling from himself and pulling the tablet away from his chest rather gingerly, Ori showed off his current project. A landscape piece with many colorful flowers of different shades and shapes.
“Oh, that is really nice.” A genuine response.
“Thank you. I’m trying to put together my portfolio, any exposure–and before you say it, not indecent exposure–is good.” Setting the tablet down and frantically moving a few papers from his desk before Nori’s ass decided to land on them, the younger brother of the household couldn’t help but huff a bit at the sudden seat occupied on his desk.
“I have some decent exposure work for you if you’re interested! It’s time to break out the ol’ needle and ink again–”
“For the last time, I am not signing your name or your initials on Dwalin’s…backside.”
“No, no, not that, though one day. But, a new fella is easing his way into the little Desolation group. Thorin’s found himself a new man.” Nori’s brows waggled with mischief, a grin on his face and a twinkle in his eye as he gently kicked his legs and looked far too amused than he should have with someone else’s love life.
“I’m not signing his name either,” Ori teased, knowing full well that Thorin was far more reasonable with things like tattoos. Though maybe not piercings from what Ori had heard over the years. “What’s he like?”
“Short, but he’s assertive and feisty beneath that little sweater vest of his. Perfect for ol’ Thorin and a far cry from the string bean he was with before.” Which was good news, indeed, and the sentiment was shared between the two of them with a small nod. “He was asking us to recommend a guy to do some ink, and of course, I have to promote my little brother.”
“I’m not an actual tattoo artist…you got me the tools and told me to have at it…”
“You’re the only one I know with a steady hand and can do great lines. I mean, look at your landscape there! Anyway, I don’t know, maybe you could work out a deal with him? He and his mother own the new bookshop on the corner of Main, perhaps there’d be a place to display some of your pieces? Or promotional work, advertising, whatever it is you want to call it.”
It didn’t sound like a bad idea. As Ori had said, any exposure was good, and to have people outside of the web see his designs and get a taste for them, put a small fire in his chest as he glanced down towards the landscape he had been sketching.
Worrying his lower lip with his teeth for a moment, Ori finally then lifted his gaze and seemed to mirror a bit of Nori’s confidence in his expression. “That’s the best idea you’ve had in a long time, so long as he’s not wanting something…crazy complicated that he’ll have to suffer with for the rest of his life, I mean.” Ori was an artistic sort, but even his creative style knew no bounds. You couldn’t exactly erase the lines of a tattoo as you could a digital one.
“I doubt he’ll go for anything too crazy. Doesn’t seem like the type, but, I’m glad you’re on board. I never fail when I say ‘I know a guy’, though in this case, I know the best guy.” Nori reached over to ruffle at Ori’s hair, which earned a small lean away in defiance before the older of the two was on his feet. “Say, once this is all done and over with, now that we have Thorin settled on his happily ever after, I’d say you’re next!”
“What? No, no that’s okay…I can manage that myself…” Ori sputtered a bit, unwilling to look Nori in the eyes so that the more sly figure could catch him within a lie. “I’m far too busy right now to worry about that anyway.” Though Ori would not be mentioning the cute barista he had spotted during one of his many frappe runs. What was her name again…? Mari? A pretty thing with dark hair like the earth, and a smile that shined like the sun.
“Ori?”
“I’m here!”
“Are you sure? It looked like you were on your way to outer space with that thoughtful look on your face. Is there something you’re not telling me?” Something in Nori’s tone was suspicious, but far be it from him to needle any further…for the moment.
“No, I’m fine. Just…thinking about landscapes, which I really need to finish if I’m going to have this portfolio put together sometime this year at this rate…”
“Alright, if you say so, but remember, you can tell me anything that’s on your mind. Even your deepest darkest secret.” Nori was well aware that something was amiss, and his words and voice hinted at such, but considering it was Ori, it likely had to be pretty mild–whatever it was. “And if you need help out of any trouble…I know a guy.”
“As always.”
“Nori! What on earth is this THING in the front yard?” Dori’s voice barked from the floor level below.
“It’s called artwork! Use your eyes!”
“It’s bright and plastic and doesn’t match my peonies! It’s not ARTWORK. Where did you even get it? Are you stealing from the neighbors again?”
“For your information it’s Dwalin’s!” Well, more like Dwalin’s neighbor’s.
Ori sighed. Just another day at home and another quiet moment come and gone–and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
Though now that he was thinking about it…that coffee shop was pretty quiet…and had quite the inspirational view.

Why Not Me? - Kindaichi x f!reader
Summary: You're halfway through your drawing and Kindaichi struggles to tell you something.
Genre: fluff, friends to lovers
Word count: 0.7k
Author's notes: I'm a new follower but happy birthday @annypuff! Thank you for doing your birthday event. I enjoyed a lot of the drawings that others requested. :) Also, I know you like angst (with no comfort 😰), but I didn't think I should do angst for you and Kindaichi… lol. So I hope you like this anyway!
*****
You laid your stylus on the table, raising your eyes to see Kindaichi giving you a small wave.
"Ugh," you groaned to yourself as you quickly look back down. "Why does he have his hair down?" Your heart began to beat faster as he pulled out the seat in front of you and slumped into it.
When did he start becoming so attractive to you? You didn't bat an eye at him back when you were teenagers and saw him in the school hallways. Nor when you saw him again years later at the reunion when your best friend dragged you to it.
No. It started when this stupid guy had to show you just how stupidly sweet he was when he ran out of the building into the pouring rain just to give someone an umbrella. And here you were a couple of years later, still sticking around him with a stupid crush using any excuse you could to see him.
You told him about the two for one deal at the café.
Both your phone and tablet were out on the table and you busied yourself with your current drawing. "So what drink did you want?" you asked him.
When he didn't answer, you raised your eyes to see a scowl on his face, one that you rarely saw because he had always smiled around you.
"What is it?" you asked.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm drawing like I usually do," you replied, raising your brow.
"No, that's not what I meant."
Your eyes scanned the table but didn't see anything unusual. You had your phone out with a reference opened along with a half finished drawing you told a friend you'd work on.
"I'm just drawing?" you said, still unsure what he was getting at.
"But why do you need that?" he said, gesturing to the topless male model on your phone.
You scratched your head with the back of your stylus. "It's kind of hard to draw without a reference."
Somehow, his lips twisted even more as he crossed his arms and leaned back again his chair. His brows were furrowed and he intently stared at your tablet.
He bit his lip before muttering, "You know I play volleyball, right?"
"Yeah, of course I do."
"You know I play professionally, right?"
"Yes, Kindaichi. I was the first one to know that you made it on the team."
He pressed his lips together as he shifted his eyes to the café's menu posted on the wall, but you could tell from his gaze he wasn't actually reading it. You flinched when he vigorously ruffled his hair before crossing his arms again.
A thought passed through your brain.
Then your jaw dropped.
"You want me to use you as a reference."
"I never said that," Kindaichi quickly replied.
"Why are you getting defensive then?"
"N-No, I'm not," he stammered, his arms still crossed.
You tried to fix your lips in place, but its corners couldn't help but turn upwards. "Should I just ask Kunimi to be my reference then?"
"He doesn't even work out anymore."
"Maybe I should ask Iwaizumi then."
Kindaichi opened his mouth to protest, then closed it back shut. He probably still felt like he couldn't compare to his senpai, which you didn't understand at all.
By now, you couldn't hold back your grin because it even reached your eyes.
Getting up from your chair, phone in hand, you positioned yourself next to him.
Click.
"What are you doing?" he asked you as you stared at the cute creases between his brows.
You held up the picture of the two of you in your hand. "This is for reference."
"What?"
"I'm supposed to be drawing a cute couple next."
He narrowed his eyes at you, not quite understanding why you had said that.
You returned to your seat as if nothing had happened and picked up your stylus to pretend to resume with your drawing. You peeked up at him, watching him blink his eyes from disbelief before he placed his chin on his palm.
"Was I not obvious enough?" you wondered to yourself.
He drummed his fingers on the table as he gave you a smirk.
"Wanna go watch a movie like a cute couple this weekend?"
*****
I hope you enjoyed it! (Even though it's shorter than what I usually write.) Thank you Anny for being my excuse to finally write a fic for Kindaichi! :D
(This ended up being another artist!reader who needed a reference again, but I was inspired. The other one is my Atsumu one but the ship dynamics are very different from this one lol.)

once again i am answering asks in a big compilation post. included is... gotham, patrick stump, tips about drawing backgrounds, tips about drawing in general, links to my faq, and infinity train
like.... the tv series? No... I’ve drawn dc comics fanart before, though. But it’s been years since I’ve been really into it. I like jumped ship like 10 years ago when the New 52 happened LOL.
AFJHDSLKGH I’m sorry I (probably) won’t do it again??
Actually full disclosure I have a truly cringe amount of p stump drawings/photo studies in my sketchbook right now LOL. He’s just fun to draw... hats, glasses, guitar, a good shape... but I don’t think I’ll rly post those until I can hide them in another big sketchbook pdf.. probably Jan 2022. Stay tuned........ (ominous)
(ominous preview)
These are all sort of related to backgrounds/painting so I grouped them together even though they’re pretty much entirely separate questions.... ANYWAYS
a) How is it working as a BG artist? Is it hard? What show are you drawing for?
I think you’re the first person to ever ask me about my job! Being a background artist is great. It’s definitely labor intensive but I think that could describe pretty much any art job (If something were rote or easy to automate, you wouldn’t hire an artist to do it) and I hesitate to say whether its harder or easier than any other role in the animation pipeline. Plus, so much of what truly makes a job difficult varies from one production to the next, schedule, working environment, co-workers etc. But I will say that I think while BGs are generally a lot of work on the upfront, I think they’re subject to less scrutiny/revisions than something like character/props/effects design and you don’t have to pitch them to a room like boards. So I guess it’s good if you don’t like to talk to people? LOL
A lot of my previous projects + the show I’ve worked on the longest aren’t public yet so I can’t talk about em (but I assure you if/when the news does break I won’t shut up about it). But I’m currently working on Archer Season 12 LOL. I’m like 90% sure I’m allowed to say that.
b) ~~~THANK YOU!! ~~~
c) What exactly do you like to draw most [in a background]?
@kaitomiury Lots of stuff! I really like to draw clutter! Because it’s a great opportunity for environmental storytelling and also you can be kind of messy with it because the sheer mass will supersede any details LOL.
I like to draw clouds... I like to draw grass but not trees lol,,, I like to draw anything that sells perspective really easily like tiled floors and ceilings, shelves, lamp posts on a street etc.
d) Do you have any tips on how to paint (observational)?
god there’s so much to say. painting is really a whole ass discipline like someone can paint their whole life and still discover new things about it. I guess if you’re really just starting out my best advice is that habit is more important than product. especially with traditional plein air painting, I find that the procedure of going outside and setting up your paints is almost harder than the actual painting. There’s a lot of artists who say “I want to do plein air sometime!!” and then never actually get around to doing it. A lot of people just end up working from google streetview or photos on their computer.
But going outside to paint is a really good challenge because it forces you to make and commit to lighting and composition decisions really quickly. And to work through your mistakes instead of against them via undo button.
My last tip is to check out James Gurney’s youtube channel because hes probably the best and most consistent resource on observational painting out there rn. There’s lots other artists doing the same thing (off the top of my head I know a lot of the Warrior Painters group has people regularly posting plein air stuff and lightbox expo had a Jesse Schmidt lecture abt it last year) but Gurney’s probably the most prolific poster and one of the best at explaining the more technical stuff - his books are great too.
e) Do you have tips for drawing cleanly on heavypaint?
@marigoldfool UMM LOL I LIKE ONLY USE THE FILL TOOL so maybe use the fill tool? Fill and rectangle are good for edge control as opposed to the rest of the heavy paint tools which can get sort of muddles. And also I use a stylus so maybe if you’re using your finger, find a stylus that works with your device instead. That’s all I’ve got, frankly I don’t think my drawings are particularly clean lol.
f) Tips on improving backgrounds/scenes making them more dynamic practicing etc?
Ive given some tips about backgrounds/scenes before so I’m not gonna re-tread those but here’s another thing that might be helpful...
I think a good way to approach backgrounds is to think of the specific story or even mood you want to convey with the background first. Thinking “I just need to put something behind this character” is going to lead you to drawing like... a green screen tourist photo backdrop. But if you think “I need this bg to make the characters feel small” or “I need this bg to make the world feel colorful” then it gives you requirements and cues to work off of.
If I know a character needs to feel overwhelmed and small, then I know I need to create environment elements that will cage them in and corner them. If a character needs to feel triumphant/on top of the world then I know I need to let the environment open up around them. etc. If I know my focal point/ where I want to draw attention, I can build the background around that.
Also, backgrounds like figure compositions will have focal points of their own and you can draw attention to it/ the relationship the characters have with the bg element via scale or directionality or color, any number of cues. I think of it almost as a second/third character in a scene.
Not every composition is gonna have something so obvious like this but it helps me to think about these because then the characters feel connected and integrated with the environment.
Some more general art questions
a) Do you have any process/tips to start drawing character/bodies/heads?
I tried to kind of draw something to answer this but honestly this is difficult for me to answer because I don’t think I’m that great at drawing characters LOL. Ok, I think I have two tips.
1) flip your canvas often. A lot about what makes human bodies look correct and believable is symmetry and balance. Even if someone has asymmetrical features, the body will often pull and push in a way to counterbalance it. we often have inherent biases to one side or another like dominant hands dominant eyes etc. you know how right-handed artists will often favor drawing characters facing 45 degrees facing (the artist’s) left? that’s part of it. so viewing your drawing flipped even just to evaluate it helps compensate for that bias and makes you more aware of balance.
2) draw the whole figure often. I feel like a lot of beginner artists (myself included for a long time) defer to just drawing headshots or busts because it’s easier, you dont have to think about posing limbs etc. But drawing a full body allows you to better gauge proportion, perspective, body language, everything that makes a character look believable and grounded.
Like if you (me) have that issue where you draw the head too big and then have to resize it to fit the proportions of the rest of the body, it’s probably because you (I) drew the head first and are treating the body as an afterthought/attachment. Sketching out the whole figure first or even just quick drawing guides for it will help you think of it more holistically. I learned this figure drawing in charcoal at art school LOL.
oh. third mini tip - try to draw people from life often! its the best study. if you can get into a figure drawing/nude drawing class EVEN BETTER and if you have a local college/art space/museum that hosts those for free TREASURE IT AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT, that’s a huge boon that a lot of artists (me again) wish they had. though if youre not so lucky and youre sitting in a park trying to creeper draw people and they keep moving.. don’t let that stop you! that’s good practice because it’s forcing you to work fast to get the important stuff down LOL. its a challenge!
b) I’ve been pretty out of energy and have had no inspiration to draw but I have the desire to. Any advice?
Dude, take a walk or something.... Or a nap? Low energy is going to effect everything else so you gotta hit that problem at its source.
If you’re looking for inspiration though, I’d recommend stuff like watching a movie, reading a book, playing video games etc. Fill up your idea bank with content and then give yourself time/space to gestate it into new concepts. Sometimes looking at other art works but sometimes it can work against you because it’s too close.
Also something that helps me is remembering that art doesn’t always have to be groundbreaking... like it’s okay to make something shitty and stupid that you don’t post online and only show to your friend. That’s all part of the process imo. If you want to hit a home run you gotta warm up first, right? Sports.
I should probably compile everytime i give tips on stuff like this but that’s getting dangerously close to being a social media artist who makes stupid boiled down art tutorials for clout which is the last thing i want to be... the thing I want to stress is that art is a whole visual language and there are widely agreed upon rules and customs but they exist in large part to be broken. Like there's an infinite number of ways to reach an infinite number of solutions and that’s actually what makes it really cool and personal for both the artist and the viewer. So when you make work you like or you find someone else’s work you like, take a step back and ask yourself what about it speaks for you, what about it works for you, what makes it effective, how to recreate that effect and how to break that effect completely, etc. And have a good time with it or else what’s the point.
for the first 2, I direct you to my FAQ
For the last one, I don’t actually believe I’ve ever addressed artwork as insp for stories/rp but I’ll say here and now yeah go ahead! As long as you’re not making profit or taking credit for my work then I’m normally ok with it. Especially anything thats private and purely recreational, that’s generally 100% green light go. I only ask that if you post it anywhere public that you please credit me.
(and I reserve the right to ask you to take it down if I see it and don’t approve of it’s use but I think that case is pretty rare.)
a) @lemuelzero101 Thank you!!! I haven’t played Life is Strange but actually that series’ vis dev artist Edouard Caplain is one of my bigger art inspirations lately so that’s a really high compliment lol. And yeah I hope we get 5-8 too...!
b) Thank you for sticking around! I’ve been thinking about Digimon and Infinity Train in tandem lately, actually. They’re a little similar? Enter a dangerous alternate world and have wacky adventures with monsters/inanimate objects that have weird powers... there’s like weird engineers and mechanisms behind the scenes... also frontier literally starts with them getting on a train. Anyways if anyone else followed me for digimon... maybe you’d like Infinity Train? LOL
c) @king-wens-king I’M GLAD MY ART JUST HAS PINOY VIBES LOL I hope you are having a good day too :^)
a, b, c, d) yessss my Watch Infinity Train agenda is working....
e) aw thank you!! i think you should watch infinity train :)

I’ve made an obscene decision.
I’m going to make a drawing blog… Now, my fanart is freaking terrible but imma try to get better at it (it won’t work but I can try) but I can’t afford an iPad rn so I’m stuck with using my phone for it which sucks. Anyways, I’m getting a new drawing stylus delivered soon and hopefully that’ll help me make better creations than my little finger drawings that y’all have been seeing. And imma also try to get back into regular drawing with like pen and paper because the last time I did, it didn’t go too bad tbh. I will update y’all when the drawing blog is created! 🙈
This is the drawing I last did on paper (still need to colour it though 😅)
