okay, so i just really wanted to say this…kinda like a positive vent ig?

but simply being in the rcp fandom has really changed me. Having a community where I can hide and do and say the things i want to, is, to say the least, comforting. Pretty much everyone here is so sweet and kind, which really wasnt something I was used to when i first joined. I never thought that my favorite tv show as a kid would have such a loving fandom—or a fandom in general. No one I knew liked rcp, or even knew what it was. That, along with many other things, made me feel really detached from everyone else. I mean, I hyperfixate on a kid show…people thought it was weird. It wasn’t until one day, I ventured onto the internet to see if I could find really anything. When I figured out that this fandom existed, holy moly….lmao.

So many of you i’ve had positive interactions with, and I wish to have many more. Some people in this fandom I’ve barely met, but I hope we can be friends! I admire a lot of people in this fandom but I usually never know how to interact with them

I’ve met so many people because of this community, and it really made me more social in general. I’ve never really had anyone that I felt I could truly call my friend, but…. @stupidloafofbread is fucking awesome, first of all. I wanted to thank you specifically for being someone I could hang out with and simply say “hi” to. It’s weird but your like one of my only real friends and I aint gonna let that go. The cabin was quiet, nestled deep in the forest, surrounded by towering pine trees dusted with fresh snow. Through the windows, I could see the forest blanketed in white, everything softened by the gentle hush of winter. Inside, though, the crackling fire cast a golden glow across the room, filling the cabin with warmth. I wrapped myself tighter in a soft blanket and looked up as Like came in from the kitchen, balancing two mugs of hot cocoa and giving me a grin.

“Extra marshmallows, just how you like.” He said, handing me my mug. I took a sip, letting the sweetness and warmth melt through me. 

“I’m almost convinced you’re trying to make this the best Christmas ever.” I teased, nudging him as he sat beside me. He chuckled, slinging an arm around my shoulders and pulling me into his side. 

“Well, that was the plan.” His tone was playful, but there was a softness in his eyes that made my heart skip a beat.  

It was our first Christmas away from the chaos of the city, away from the noise and the endless busyness of our jobs. Luke had suggested the cabin idea weeks ago, and I jumped at the chance to spend the holidays just the two of us. Somewhere quiet, surrounded by snow and nature. We had spent the day exploring the snowy trails nearby, the snow crunching under our boots. Luke stopped every few feet to either toss snow at me or point out a hidden view of the mountains. Now, we were warm and cozy, sinking into the comfort of the cabin. 

Outside, the snow had started falling again, each flake catching the faint glow from the cabin’s lights, turning the world into a sparkling wonderland. I felt Luke shift beside me, and when I glanced over, he was watching me, a soft smile tugging at his lips. 

“What?” I asked, feeling the heat rise to my cheeks. 

“Nothing.” He said, kissing my temple. 

“Just thinking about how perfect all this is.” I snuggled closer, feeling the solid reassurance of his presence. 

“I was thinking the same thing.” I happily sighed. I reached for his hand, lacing my fingers with his, and for a moment, we just sat there watching the snow fall in comfortable silence. 

“Do you think we’ll get snowed in?” I joked, but part of me was hoping we would. I didn’t want to go back to reality just yet, not when everything felt so peaceful. 

“I wouldn’t mind. We’ve got enough firewood, plenty of food, and each other. Sounds like the ideal Christmas to me.” He said, grinning. I laughed, giving him a playful nudge. 

“You just don’t wanna go back to work yet.” 

“Guilty.” He said with a laugh. 

“Actually, I think I just like this. Just us, being together.” He said with a soft tone, looking down at me. His words hung in the air, simple but sincere, and I felt a warmth spread through me. I leaned in, brushing my lips against his, a soft, lingering kiss that said everything words couldn’t When we finally pulled apart, I rested my head on his shoulder, letting the quiet cabin and the soft fall of snow outside surround us. There was a peace here that you couldn’t really feel in the city. 

“Merry Christmas, Luke.” I muttered, feeling his hand tighten around mine. 

“Marry Christmas, beautiful.” He whispered back, pressing a kiss to my forehead.

Why do you post pics of black cats at the bottom of your fics? - Those are my babies and I wanna share them with you! You can’t always tell unless they’re together in the same pic but yes, there’s two. I talk a lot about them. How do you tell your cats apart? - it’s not always evident in photos but they are totally different sizes. Gizmo is chunky and big, Jojo is scrawny. Behavior wise, they act completely different from each other. Jojo is very timid, gentle, and patient, but Gizmo is kind of a disaster of a cat. Very clumsy, very noisy, very troublesome. But he’s a lover. They both are.

“Ricky!” I screamed. He had just walked through the door to Vinny’s house and to say I missed him would be an understatement. I threw myself into his arms and he spun me around.

“Hi baby girl. I missed you. Did Vin take good care of you?” I nodded happily.

“He did. I missed you too.” I mumbled.

“Vin sent me a very beautiful video of you two together.” I blushed and looked away. “Don’t be shy. You looked gorgeous. Where is the idiot anyway?”

“He was taking a shower. I knew you were going to be here soon, so I didn’t want to join.”

“Did you enjoy your time with him?” I nodded shyly. “Good. I’ll have to watch next time. Make sure he’s treating you right.”

“Trust me, she likes the thought of that.” Vinny snickered, walking around the corner. He was drying his hair while he stood there in nothing but a towel and it took everything in me not to drool.

“Baby, close your mouth. You’re salivating.” Ricky teased me. I snapped my mouth shut and turned to him with an even brighter blush.

“Thank you for staying with me this week. I’ll see you soon, yeah?” Vinny asked, holding open his arms. I ran into them and nuzzled under his chin.

“Definitely.” Vin leaned down and kissed the top of my head before shoving me back towards Ricky. He wrapped his arm around my waist and grabbed my bag that was waiting for me. “Be safe sunshine.”

“I always am.” I promised. Ricky and I headed to his jeep and he took me back to my apartment. As we pulled up I got a bad feeling and didn’t immediately get out of the car.

“You ok, baby girl?” He asked. I shook my head.

“I have a bad feeling. Can you come up with me?” He turned off the car.

“Of course. Come on.” He grabbed my bag before grabbing my hand and walking me in. As I suspected, something was wrong. We walked up to my door to see that the lock had been broken and what we could see of the inside was completely trashed. We were about to go in when we heard shuffling and a very familiar voice cussing up a storm. “Go back to the car and call 911. Now.” Ricky whispered, handing me my bag and his keys. I did as he instructed and locked myself in the car. I called the police and gave them my address.

“Ma’am what seems to be the problem?” The person asked calmly.

“My apartment has been broken into and the apartments trashed. The person is still in there.” I sniffled. “My boyfriend, he’s outside the door but we are pretty sure it’s my ex. How is he out of jail? He was supposed to be locked away for 10 years.” I sobbed.

“I don’t know ma’am. The police are on the way though.”

“Thank you, thank you.” I repeated. 4 minutes later the police came around the corner and flew out of their cars, rushing to where Ricky was. Ricky explained to one officer what had happened while the rest went inside. They returned a moment later empty handed and Ricky frowned. He nodded and looked over to me, waving for me to join him. I stepped out of the car and went over to him, immediately snuggling into his chest.

“He escaped out a back window apparently.” Ricky growled. “They are going to hunt for him but you aren’t staying here. I’m taking you back to Vinny’s.”

“How did he get free?” I whimpered.

“Apparently he managed to escape. They didn’t give me the details but you aren’t safe here. Do you want to grab anything?” Ricky asked. I nodded and went inside with Ricky and some police to grab my lock box from my closet and another bag of clothes. I didn’t immediately notice anything missing so they assumed he was looking for me specifically. Ricky took my bag and put it in his trunk before thanking the officers and taking me back to Vin.

“Welcome back little Sunshine.” Vin said with a confused look on his face. I ran into his arms and sobbed into his chest as Ricky explained what happened.

“I’m going to make sure the dipshit hasn’t tracked my house down and then I’m going to have her live with me. I don’t want her to be alone in case he followed us.”

“I’ll take care of her. Don’t worry Rick. Your girls safe with me.” Vinny assured him. Ricky gave me a quick kiss before storming to his jeep and speeding off. “Come inside sunshine.” He muttered, looking up and down the road before closing the door and locking it behind us. I saw a man sitting in the living room and he looked over at me. “Liv, this is Finnick. He’s my roommate. He got home minutes after you left. Finnick, this is Olivia. Do not call her Liv, that’s my nickname and do not touch her without her permission. Personal preference.”

“Noted. I heard what happened. I’m sorry about your shitty ex.” He said sincerely.

“Thanks. I hope the cops just find him soon.”

“Well, you are welcome here as long as it takes.” I nodded gratefully.

“Vin? Can I go upstairs and lay down please?” He nodded.

“Do you want me to come with you?”

“Please? I don’t want to be alone.” Vinny waved by to Finnick and followed me upstairs.

“Do you want to put on something more comfortable?” I shrugged so he moved to help me out of my jeans and shirt leaving me in my bra and lingerie. He pulled a big shirt of his out and dropped it over my head before scooping me up and setting me in the bed gently. I curled into his chest and broke down sobbing as he just held me tightly. “I’m so sorry baby.” He whispered over and over.

“Why was he released? He wasn’t supposed to be released.” I cried in frustration.

“I don’t know. But Ricky and I will protect you and we will not rest until that asshole is behind bars again.”

“Thank you.” I sniffled.

“Hey, sorry I’m so late. How is she?” Ricky asked quietly when he stepped into the room. Vinny lifted his head and put a finger over his lips.

“She spent all afternoon crying. She only fell asleep a little bit ago.” Ricky crawled into bed behind her and wrapped his arm around her waist. She instantly rolled around and snuggled into him, letting out a little sigh. “What were you doing all afternoon?”

“I installed a bunch of cameras around my house so that if he shows up, I will know.” Ricky grumbled.

“Will she be safe?” Vinny murmured.

“I will do everything in my power to make sure she is. She may be scared now but our girl is strong. She’ll be ok.” The guitarist told him sleepily.

“Rick, you keep saying our girl. She’s not. I’m not her boyfriend.” Vinny insisted.

“You may not be, but you certainly have a part of her heart.” The drummer mulled on that for a while until the two next to him were breathing steadily, a sign that they had fallen asleep. He grabbed Ricks pack of cigarettes that were on the nightstand and stepped out to the balcony. He didn’t normally smoke but right now he needed something to clear his head.

As he sat there staring at the moon and the stars, the cig between his lips, he thought about his relationship with Olivia. She was an important part of his life now and if he lost her he didn’t know what he would do. Ricky was obviously ok with Vinny dating her too but the drummer didn’t know if that was something she wanted. He was quickly coming to the realization though that he definitely wanted that.

“Hey, are you ok?” He heard the melodic voice behind him. He turned to look at the sleepy angel and held out his arms. She placed herself in his lap and rested her head on his shoulder. “What are you stressing about? You only smoke when you are overthinking something.” He pulled the cigarette away from his mouth and sighed.

“Why does Rick always have to be right?” He muttered.

“What about this time?” She giggled.

“Please keep an open mind when I tell you this. The last thing I ever want to do is hurt you or lose you.” Olivia nodded and lifted her head off his shoulder. “I was trying to be your friend and it just isn’t working. I want things I shouldn’t, but several people are telling me its ok and it’s tearing me in so many different directions. What I’m trying to say is that I’ve fallen in love with you over the last few months and I don’t want to be just your friends with benefits. I want a relationship with you. I want to be your boyfriend, but you have Rick and there isn’t a place for me.”

“Can I speak now?” Vinny nodded shyly. “Have you ever heard of Polyamory?” Another nod. “Good, because that’s what I am. Rick already told me it was ok if I want you as a partner as well. He explained it to me. Vinny, I love you too, you absolute dumbass. There will always be and there always has been a place for you.” The drummer felt like he wanted to cry. The girl of his dreams was telling him he could have her even though she was dating his best friend. She was telling him that his feelings weren’t one sided.

“Fuck Liv, your gonna make me cry.” He muttered, turning his head away. She took his head in her hands and forced him to look at her again.

“How about you kiss me instead.” She murmured.

“Yeah, I can definitely do that.” He pulled me closer and attached their lips in a new kind of kiss. The others had been hesitant and gentle, but these were deep and passionate. They were filled with the longing that they had held from each other. ‘I love you’ was whispered by both of them. “We should probably go back to bed before Rick wakes up and finds us gone.” He lifted her up and carried her inside. Once she was settled back between her boys, she fell asleep quickly, both of them wrapped tightly around her.

What’s your OTP for your muse?

I honestly don’t have an OTP fkjdshf in any fandom. But ships I have with mutuals? Those tend to be my OTPs – but usually just with those people if they’re canon muses as I often become attached to people’s specific interpretations rather than who the muse are themselves. This can go into faceclaims too for ocs.

What are you willing to rp when it comes to shipping?

I think it’s easier for me to say what I don’t like when it comes to shipping. Highly toxic stuff is a big no for me personally since it makes me super uncomfortable and I feel bad writing it as a result of this, but other than that, everything is free game I guess??? I also don’t like Aged up muses like individuals who were like 13 or something aged up to 18 for shipping for a verse as that can stay 10000 feet away from me. So come at me with that and get a flat no and a block. I used to see this a while back in certain fandoms so maybe things are better nowadays....maybe.......

How large does the age gap have to be to make it uncomfortable?

For immortal muses or muses with very, very long lives, this tends to be free game since as long as both them and the other individual share the same mental / physical maturity and they're adults then we’re good to go. For outside of this, five years is my max and anything above that is too much for me. This is different if both muses are older adults, though, as 40 and 45 become quite inconsequential.

Are you selective when shipping?

VERY. It’s one of the reasons why it can take some time for me to ship with someone in the romantic sense as I need to get to know the mun through ooc communication on the dash or through tags or something. I need to get a feel for those vibes. Since I don’t go into interactions looking for this, that also makes it take some time to actually get to that point. It’s rare for me to go outside of the slow burn period unless I know someone and we’ve talked a lot / discussed things.

How far do steamy moments have to go before they're considered nsfw?

For me, the moment a lot of touching starts to get involved is my cue that things are more than likely going to get pretty spicy from there and to get ready to slap that readmore / nsfw tag on there.

You can most certainly! Just don’t bring it up when we first start interacting because it’ll make me annoyed and that ship more than likely won’t ever happen. As someone who has been used before for having a specific muse for part of a ship, I’ll think that’s the only reason for the interest. Now, if we’re interacting and you see chemistry over time, then you can let me know. That’ll give me an idea of where the interest is, and then from there, if I’m feeling that chemistry too, I can send in those shippy memes without feeling like a weenie. 😭

How often do you like to ship?

I do like shipping, but not too often. Normally when I have a few ships, my interest in it tends to dwindle down into the aether. The type of muses I pick up doesn’t help either as they are often uninterested in romance from the first and or it takes 10 years to get a single doki out of them. Yesss very much so. For some muses, though, that might be few-ship.

As I said, I don’t tend to be interested in ships much even with fandoms. However, I am fond of Ningguang and Beidou in Genshin. For Honkai, Bronya and Seele, and Natasha and Serval (I say that as if I have Honkai muses on here---). I like these in very specific ways and don’t tend to be fond of how fandom explores a lot of ships in general because I'm weird I guess FJHSJKFFS.

Finally, how does one ship with you?

Just interact! Really, that’s it! Don’t approach me with intent on shipping first time we interact and just let it happen. Talk to me too! Do you have any tips for new writers/accounts to get popular???

SO:

I was a shit writer for a very long time cuz I never wrote. But one day I wanted to change that so at 19 I made up a story and wrote down all my plot points and then did a DEEP DIVE on Pinterest of all things collecting every bit of advice I could. I’m talking ideas, how to do this, how to not use the word said, how to start sentences. How sentences should flow and their lengths, big uncommon words. EVERYTHING.

Anything and everything I could get my hands on. 

And on top of that I’ve been a reader for forever. I have so many books I don’t even know how many I have. And so I use that knowledge when editing. I don’t read it from a writing POV after I write it. I turn into a reader and think about how I would feel about it from a readers POV and if something doesn’t work. I fix it.

I have a small background in script writing from my college days which definitely helped a bit. But if you’ve ever studied script writing you know it doesn’t really help creative writing outside of structure.

And when I write I’m someone who writes until I think the story is done. Not the arc. Not the characters. But the overall story of what I’m trying to portray. I don’t actively think about putting the climax of the story here or some foreshadowing there. I write intuitively if that makes sense. I try to sense out what feels right. And some of that comes naturally, some of it doesn’t and I have to work on it.

Me and @violetsiren90 were actually talking roughly about this last night. Our differences in how we write and how my advice from her last fic that I edited had already helped her with her new one cuz she can now see all of the little things that I pick up on from my style of writing versus the times where she tells me why she writes in that specific way and why she will be keeping it as is. Vi if you wanna add anything in the comments I’m forgetting, by all means feel free.

Most writers will tell you to practice. To tell you to write something even if it’s just a sentence everyday. But that didn’t help me. The stuff on my blog are the very first things I’ve written for myself ever. I didn’t write in highschool or college outside of what I was forced to write and my one story that the Pinterest board was initially for.

For me it was about researching style and reading posts like these from other writers, being confident in your style and learning what rules to break and when to break them. It was about reading over your work a hundred times and to be impartial when you read so you can fix the mistakes that won’t work.

The benefit of writing is you can go over something you’ve written a hundred times until you think it’s ready. A thousand times. I can go back and rewrite that first story if I want too. Nothing can stop me.

But don’t get me wrong. I go back and read all my works on here from time to time and I still constantly find things I would change now. Word changes. Phrasing changes. Everything. But that’s just another sign of improvement. Writing is a constantly improving art form. There is no limit. Only growth.

And the last thing I do is write down everything. I have a TERRIBLE memory. So I write down every single idea. On a scrap piece of paper. In my phone. On a computer. In a notebook. Cuz you never know when you’ll use it.

My most recent story, The Devil Wears Valentino, I got the idea for that name sometime in the immediate aftermath of Valentino Yoongi. I was in the shower after watching the devil wears Prada and my mind just connected the two. And then it sat unused in my notes all until the week before Halloween 2023. I would’ve forgotten had I not written it down. But there it was right when I needed it, a gift from past me. And here we are.

As for popularity, dude I have no goddamn idea. I don’t even think I count as a popular/big blog. I utilize the HELL out of aesthetics, formatting and tags and I’m nice. That’s my spiel on that. Aesthetic. Format. Tag. Kindness. Talent, sure. I guess. But writing is one of those things, ESPECIALLY in fic, where it doesn’t have to be the best cuz folks just wanna read their comfort character or person in the same scenarios over and over again. Source: I do that. And I’ve read stories that don’t have the best writing. But the story was good, or vice versa. People are way more forgiving on here.

I didn’t come on here(tumblr) with the intention of writing let alone giving writing and popularity advice. I just wanted to read and support people and then the community I’ve built for myself has just grown and grown and I’ve been so incredibly fortunate, which is where kindness comes in.

Leave reviews and like and reblog stuff. Tell people how much you love their work. Let them know you write too. Create friendships with people who wanna support you. And people who you wanna support. Community is the base of everything.

Writing Update & ‘Writing Interview’

Hello! Instead of providing a snippet this week, I’m going to give you a small update on where I’m at with this latest chapter of ‘Blood in the Wine’.

I’m wrapping up the chapter (maybe today, maybe tomorrow) then will need to edit. The chapter will be deployed soon so keep an eye out! We’re looking at around 7k - 8k words.

A bright side for the story is I’ll be doing more writing now that I’ve accomplished what I wanted to in FFXIV (for the time being).

When did you start writing? I believe I started writing when I was the tender age of twelve years old. I decided to write some Kagome x InuYasha fics that are frozen in time on FF.net. Aside from the grammatical errors, the predictable plot and the out-of-character characterizations, I think the worst thing about them is that they weren’t Sesshomaru x Kagome.

Are there different themes or genres you enjoy reading than what you write? I’m continually embarrassed to say I don’t read books anymore. Writing has given me the drive to crack more books open, but writing has also given me less time to read amongst work and the occasional video game session. Were I to read, I enjoy reading classical horror and supernatural tales here and there, outside of my love for mythology and classical romance.

I think if I write anything, it needs to have an angle of romance - even if it involved eldritch beings.

Is there a writer you want to emulate or get compared to often? Ohhh, I have no idea… I just write how I write. 🤷‍���️

Can you tell me a bit about your writing space? I normally write at my desktop computer, where my husband puts up with all of the clacking I do at my keyboard.

What's your most effective way to muster up a muse? For me it’s listening to music and playing scenes out in my head. Certain songs with certain scenes I’ve concocted gear me up like nothing else to the point of wanting to scream.

The good kind of scream.

Are there any recurring themes in your writing? Do they surprise you?

I like dealing with people who make poor decisions and watching the consequences unfold. I like themes of temptation. I like the classic good vs evil but with shades of gray on both sides. I like threading in the concept of fate.

No, they don’t surprise me. 

What is your reason for writing?

My reason for writing was because a story formed and put a theoretical gun against the head it was in; I had to realize it.

Now I write because another story has a gun to my head, and it’s fun being held hostage by my own plots. 

Is there any specific comment or type of comment you find particularly motivating?

I deeply cherish the comments that walk me through initial reaction to scenes (especially plot twists!) and how the writing affected the reader emotionally. I salivate over when readers theorize about what’s to come next or start to piece together elements of the plot.

It’s also been wonderful to hear that people think my writing is immersive! 

How do you want to be thought about by your readers?

“That Neutral gal is super cool and mysterious and kind of funny at times.” I’m kidding! I’ll mirror what other writers have said in saying that I hope readers view me as approachable! I’m trying to stay what I view as being a healthy-arm’s-length-apart from fandom spaces, but it’s not my intent to discourage people from interacting with me! Interaction was the whole reason for making this writing blog. I’ve enjoyed all of the asks, the prompts, and the interactions I’ve had thus far!

What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?

Believable dialogue and character interactions?

How do you feel about your own writing?

I like it, but then I read other people’s writing and go, “Wow, Neutral! You effing wish you could write like this. Your writing reads like hot garbage in comparison.”

okay so this is a rant and a half bc i’m just so physically, mentally, and emotionally fucking tired.

believe it or not anon, i don’t go out and find frimages specifically for this blog. i literally, on my down time when im bored, or am having a shitty day, just scroll through apps and the internet looking at frank. i save pics to my phone that i like and put them in my frank album bc i enjoy looking at frank iero. i made this blog to scream about frank purely for myself. i didn’t make this blog with the goal of documenting frimages. this is a purely selfish blog. it’s very incredibly cool to me that i have a solid number of followers, but i literally couldn’t give a flying fuck if i have 20 or 2,000. because again. i just like to scream about frank and i tag my shit so i can search back in my blog for a specific pic easier than i can in my photos app regardless of how organized it is.

i have the short term memory of a fucking dusty pecan shell on the side of the road. i mean this in the most respectful way possible, but there is no way in hell i’m going to be able to remember to grab a source link to put in the caption of a frimage i saved to my phone. not for lack of trying, but come the fuck on. i work, go to classes, am a caregiver, and take care of the inside and outside duties of a house. i do so much more than any single person should have to do at 30 and have been for the last fucking decade. i just want to carefree and casually enjoy looking at and screaming about frank iero. this is unfortunately and pitifully one of my only sources of joy and relaxation that i can manage on a remotely regular basis. i can’t tell you the last time i actually had the time or physical or emotional energy to paint or draw or compose/play music. i miss painting. it physically hurts every time i see my grandmothers easel in the corner of my room because she would paint on that regularly and left it to me because i paint just like her. and i can’t even remember the last time i actually used it. because i’m just so fucking tired.

so i’m gonna reiterate again that i have never claimed that any of these frimages are mine, nor will i ever. when the time comes that i take my own pics of frank im very likely not even gonna credit my own damn self and i honestly don’t give a fuck if someone takes my frimage and posts it without crediting me. now if someone knows who originally took a frimage then literally by all means just let me know and i’ll put credits. i’m more than happy to edit a post. people have been kind enough to do so in the past.

What is the origin of your blog title?

Danse macabre — a French phrase meaning “Dance of Death,” is an art trope originating during the late medieval period that seeks to reminds us of the universal nature of death. The header I have to match is an example of such a piece — from 1493, by Michael Wolgemut (pictured below). It’s also a composition trope, as in Camille Saint-Saens’ composition that was also covered by the oh hellos in dear wormwood.

Not too sure? I do skin pick and bite my nails but that isn’t really “weird,” because a lot of people do it. I make a lot of clicking noises but that depends on if you consider vocal stims a weird autism trait.
