Let's write an episode together and talk about the TARDIS(s)!

Anyone still there? Sorry, I got a little distracted by other things. But I am still having fun with this, so I will slowly continue it. Come along if you like :D (If you’re new: we’re writing a dw episode with my options that I am giving you and your choices in the polls. When it’s done I’ll force RTD to write it properly /j )

So far, we have decided on a multidoctor episode with the teams:

9 travelling with Rose, Bill and Jack

10 travelling with Martha, Donna and Jack

13 travelling with River and Yaz

Now, the last poll decided, that our episode will mostly take place inside the TARDIS. As we are dealing with a multidoctor episode, the question is: (How) Do they end up inside the same TARDIS? I have come up with some answers.

Explanations and examples can be found under the cut. Please remember while voting that no matter the scenario, the most time the camera will show the inside of one or more TARDIS-s (well, it’s all the same one anyway but you know what I mean), i.e. the console room, hallways or other rooms inside the ship.

I'll give you a little more time this round as I am expecting I might stay this slow with updates.

Scenario Different TARDIS-s, different plots

The distinct TARDIS teams don’t interact directly. The scenes switch back and forth, showing three distinct (but related?) stories inside the three TARDIS-s of the three teams. In different points in time and different locations. The teams don’t interact with each other except for possibly the Doctor and Jack remembering a similar situation or objects inside the TARDIS being used. Or things one Doctor and team do influencing another incarnation (think 11 ordering a fez and 13 receiving it). To the teams it has no relevance that we are seeing the scenes together but they enhance each other through subtle references.

Scenario Different TARDIS-s, same plot

All the teams stay inside their own TARDIS, at least for most of the episode, but they can communicate. Either directly, video call style, or a little more like Sally and her DVD’s with the Doctor/Jack leaving notes for past and future selves. The three teams work together to fight some impeding doom™, perhaps resulting in a celebratory party in the end outside the TARDIS-s.

Scenario Same TARDIS

For some reason two teams end up inside the TARDIS of another. I am imagining 13 purposefully tries to borrow 10’s TARDIS to do something specific (maybe she needs the round things for it or something) but miscalculates the time. Thus, contrarily to her belief, 10 and his team are already inside, taking a calm day to explore some rooms or something. And it’s not just them because right before 13 plus team arrive, 9 and his friends have made their way on board, mistaking her for their own TARDIS. The TARDIS, ever helpful, provided them their rooms, too, at the usual place. So, everyone’s inside the ship somewhere, none the wiser, when 13 and Yaz and River are starting the engine. Everyone comes to see who is abducting ‘their’ ship and find those strange women. Half of the episode is probably consecrated to the Doctor’s bickering about whose ship this is and who gets to fly her and the other half to actually pulling themselves together and solving the issue 13 was concerned with together.

Scenario Merged TARDIS – Doors

An error occurs and suddenly, while believing to have landed somewhere else, one team opens their door to leave the ship and finds itself entering the console room of another team, through the TARDIS door again. When they try to leave and go back, they end up inside the third team’s console room. Only at the third try they get back, but no matter where they try to fly to, the doors stay merged together. The outside of one TARDIS has become the inside of another (a tiny bit like in ‘time’ and ‘space’). The main issue of this episode is to figure out how to detach the TARDIS’s again and which Doctor belongs into which TARDIS and which Jack to which Doctor before the split happens and they’re all separated again.

Scenario Merged TARDIS – Interior

The TARDIS incites the teams to venture further into her depths until they reach the inside of another TARDIS incarnation. She has merged her insides together, producing a way of easily moving from one timeline to the other (although you have to run quite a long way, I suppose, I’m sure Donna and 10 will provide some segways to help out eventually). This helps with fighting several issues outside two or three of the TARDIS-s. This episode will feature a lot of running through TARDIS hallways, getting lost, searching for items that only exist earlier or later in time and loads of chaos and shouting to get a grip on the issues happening outside. Also probably someone getting locked inside a room on accident or one of the console rooms being no longer safe to enter.

Scenario Merged TARDIS – Russian Doll

One TARDIS is having steering/stabilising problems. To solve them, she lands inside the safest place: Herself. But not herself right now, but a former/later console room. When that TARDIS, disturbed from the impact of having herself inside, tries to land, the same thing happens. The Doctors storm out, managing to prevent the third TARDIS from landing and repeating the process, but now we have a TARDIS inside a TARDIS inside a TARDIS that can’t land. And the inner ones are too ruffled to start flying as well. The main issue is to resolve the connection and get all the TARDIS-s to be normal again.

(possible extra option with this one: one or several of the TARDIS-s get shrunk in the process together with the travellers. Picture mini-13 climbing over the console and leather jacket up to 9's ear to yell at him to notice them and help them out for Gallifrey's sake! (also tiny Jack hitting on giant Jack and vice versa) If people like this extra option, regardless of which option wins, I'll see if we can include it there, too)

Scenario Merged/One TARDIS – Echoes

We are following the storyline of only one of the teams but the TARDIS is supplying memories/echoes of former/later companions and Doctors to help with the plot. A little like River in ‘Name of the Doctor’ or 13 and the fugitive Doctor in ‘Once upon time’. Some possession, some ghostlike figures and images in mirrors and tapestries, some people suddenly being displaced in time and disappearing again. The echoes are interacting with the main TARDIS team but it is clear they are not completely there. When that particular adventure is lived, the TARDIS stops producing the echoes or is repaired so she doesn’t have to anymore.

Scenario The Master’s TARDIS

We are not inside the Doctor’s TARDIS at all but some incarnation of the Master has abducted/lured all the three teams into their own TARDIS where they have to work together to survive whatever the Master can throw at them in their own realm. Also possible with several incarnations of the Master working together.

Scenario Trenzalore

What it says on the tin. The three teams end up on Trenzalore inside the giant TARDIS that is the Doctor's grave. This one is angsty, friends ❤

AUGUST - A look ahead + some general updates

Hi, all! Just keeping everyone posted on what I've been up to and what's coming up in the future. Here are some things you can expect to see in the month of August, both publicly and exclusive to the Patreon...

Public posts:

New Werewolf Fact - That's right; it'll be a werewolf fact again this month! What will it be about? Well, that's up to my patrons. They have several choices this time. Whatever they pick, I'm going to refocus on werewolf facts again for a little while, especially to prepare for the promotion of my upcoming book Knightfall - and possibly even for the announcement of another nonfiction werewolf folklore book from me.

Preview for an upcoming short story - Depending on how efficiently I get these two new short stories written, I would love to post a public preview for one this month!

Website updates - I'm going to be doing some website updates this August, including some updates to the character pages on my website and possibly more (I would love to improve the look/feel of several pages, but I'm not sure I have time to get to that this month). If you haven't seen my website redesign, by the way, don't forget to check that out! It has lots of useful pages now, including character pages and reading order guides to my fiction, as well as previews of all my books and links to purchase them online from Amazon (they are also available online at most book retailers). I am especially fond of the Characters section, myself.

Poll on next Werewolf Fact - Patrons will get to decide what August's werewolf fact will be! The poll will go up around the start of the month, and it'll run for a while before I take in the final results and start working on the fact itself.

Monthly Preview, Chapter 8 of Knightfall revision (near-final draft) - Already loaded up and ready to be posted soon, the monthly preview for August will be chapter 8 of my Knightfall revision in its near-final form (not final yet, though)! This chapter introduces a brand new plot twist, and we're fast approaching the point where I will no longer post chapter previews of this revision, as things are really heating up. I'm very excited to hear what readers think of this preview!

Previews for 1 or 2 new short stories - I'm not sure how much writing I'll get around to in terms of these short stories, but I know what I want to do with both now, so I'm really hoping to post a preview at least for patrons this month of one, if not both, upcoming short stories! Will I finish at least one short story to the point of posting a public preview in August? I can't say yet! We'll see how it goes. I am going to run them by my patrons first; I do know that. So if you're a patron, definitely expect at least a preview of one or both new short stories this month.

Patrons are going to be my test audience for these short stories, so patrons will receive these short stories in their entirety before they are available publicly through my newsletter!

Also, as a more general update, I have removed the Character Questions reward from my Patreon for the time being in order to make space to experiment with other potential rewards in the future.

If there's anything anyone would be excited to see from my Patreon rewards, be it related to my folklore work or my fiction or whatever else, I'd love to hear from you!

There's a lot in store, and I can't wait to share it all. I'm really hoping to make 2024 a big year for me and my work, so I'm doing a lot of preparation in the remainder of this year to work toward that.

Thank you again to everyone for their help via participating in the poll. During the duration of the poll, it was clear there was the least interest in keeping everything the same with minor changes, so Famed as it currently stands is considered closed. I’ve decided the new system will be opening under a new name on a new blog, regardless of exactly which of the other two choices ends up being the final form.

The options for a more open-ended idol-centric roleplay and a wider multi-occupation entertainment roleplay were pretty neck-in-neck for the length of the poll. Unfortunately, there was also no one option every current member agreed on having interest in, which does make the final decision a bit more difficult since I don’t want to alienate anyone currently a part of the group with my choice.

I’ve been drafting pages and mechanisms for both options for the last couple of days since it was apparent they were the top choices. I’ll be spending a few more days doing this before making a final decision on what will happen going forward. In the meantime, I wanted to run one more quickfire poll with two purposes: 1) to collect feedback on some changes to mechanisms / features being considered and 2) to serve as a second analysis of interest between two remaining options.

FEATURES / MECHANISM FEEDBACK

The following are some of the more major feature / mechanism updates being considered with explanations. The poll will ask you to rate your thoughts on each between 1 and 5 (1 being against and 5 being in favor of).

This features are ones that would apply to either option, which is why they’re mostly idol-centric features.

Mun-involved comebacks for idol groups

This feature would allow muns to have more involvement in choosing the comebacks for their muse’s groups. There would still be admin involvement to parse through options to help keep concepts consistent and distinct from other groups, but muns may be able to have a say in when exactly a group comes back, what song(s) they come back with, and how the comeback is received.

The muns involved in any particular comeback would be the muns of muses in that group who would get to vote on certain aspects such as concept / title track / etc. and muns of muses who produce music, who would be able to submit songs that could potentially be produced by their muse to be taken into consideration for future comebacks.

Mun-submitted mini-events

While larger, full scale events would take place, muns would be able to submit events relevant to or hosted by their muse that would take place in the gaps between larger events. These could be things like album release parties, brand launches, birthday parties, etc. There would be time slots (like no more than one each month) so that these didn’t get too overwhelming, but it would lay the groundwork for more spaces for interactions without having to have constant large scale events that might prevent more casual interactions.

Flexible leader / maknae roles

This one’s pretty simple. Each group has to have a leader and a maknae, but these positions can be reserved with any existing position instead of being assigned to a specific one.

No strict model discography groups

Groups would still, of course, have a list of songs that they’ve released that would be real-life songs, but these wouldn’t be limited to a couple of assigned groups. For instance, a group with a more girl crush-leaning concept might release two songs from Blackpink, a song by (G)I-DLE, a song by Mamamoo, two songs by Everglow, a song by Itzy, etc.

This would make groups more centered around concepts than exact model discography groups. The main reasoning for this would be flexibility and to aid the possibility of mun-involved comebacks mentioned earlier, and it would also mean less affect on a group if a song has to be removed from their discography for some reason.

This would also mean, though, that there would be no direct line distributions in the sense of main vocal gets all of Taeyeon’s lines, main dancer gets all of Hyoyeon’s lines, etc. since I can’t make group positions align well with every possible group they might one day release a song from. I’d be happy to create exact line distributions for each present-time release as it comes out based on positions, though, so muses still know what they’re singing / rapping.

TWO REMAINING OPTIONS

As I have begun to work on pages and mechanics for the remaining two options, I have found they end up actually being pretty similar. Both have the goal of a more collaborative, open-ended world with fewer developmental / creative limitations, so I wanted to make what I see to be the main difference clear.

The biggest difference just comes down to what I consider the scale of ‘zoom’ of the world they exist in. The idol-centric version is more “zoomed in” to idols. The broader scale, entertainment industry one is “zoomed out” from the idol subset to a world that also includes types such as actors, models, non-idol recording artists, etc. The zoomed-in version would focus on the idol divisions two or three companies with seven to nine idol groups across them and a few solo spots. The zoomed-out version would focus on three to four entertainment companies and five to six career paths (idol groups, soloist, actor, model, personality, etc.). The number of playable, preset idol groups would be around five to seven. This version would be meant to have potential to be larger in roleplay size.

The question asking for opinion between the two remaining options on a scale of one to five. For these purposes, please take each answer as the following:

1: From what has been shared, I would only be interested in joining the idol-centric zoomed-in version.

2: From what has been shared, I would be most interested in joining the idol-centric zoomed-in version, but I may consider the broader scope, zoomed-out version.

3: From what has been shared, I would be interested in joining both the idol-centric zoomed-in version and the broader scope, zoomed-out version.

4: From what has been shared, I would be most interested in joining the broader scope, zoomed-out version, but I may consider idol-centric zoomed-in version.

5: From what has been shared, I would only be interested in joining the broader scope, zoomed-out version.

Unpredictable (Overhaul x Reader) pt. 1

a/n: I have been struggling with writer’s block because all I’ve been wanting to do was write about garbage man Overhaul. I have no idea how or when my simping for this man began T.T that being said, the words came flowing out when I started this XD

It was a rather fine Monday afternoon. Lazily drinking your coffee, you waved to the people who knew who you were. You weren’t part of the top ten heroes, no. Not even in the top 100 poll. Instead, with a quirk like yours, you chose to enter the police force. With a bit of training here and there, you mastered everything there was to and still managed to develop your quirk every two missions or so.

Now, you were sitting by the window. Waiting for your partner to arrive. He had called you in for a rather hasty meet up somewhere far from the precinct. With no details given, anything was possible when it came to Tsukauchi and his brain.

A blur of tan and green caught your eye. Turning to face the no longer vacant chair, you observed as he took off his matching hat and fixed his tie. His rectangular eyes greet you with sincerity but hints of anxiety at the same time. Something was about to happen, it was plain obvious.

“Well, good afternoon to you, Nao.” You gave him a cheers of your coffee before taking another sip. The bitterness of your beverage is ever so relaxing. “What can I do for my partner, hm?”

“You read me too well, (Y/N).” He chuckled. Taking a folder from his messenger bag, he placed it on the table and gave you permission to open it. The way he saw your eyebrows furrow only strengthened his hypothesis. “I can explain.”

“You bet your ass you need to explain.” You leaned on your chair. Heart racing a little faster now. Your eyes darting from the detective before you and the streets outside the window. Index finger tapping on your bicep as your arms instinctively crossed on your chest.

“I know this is familiar territory to you and I am sure that you are very much uncomfortable right now,” He began. The little shift in your seat caused guilt to eat him a bit. Seeing your eyes moving from one item to another made him question if this were the right choice. “But with considerable thought, you’re the only one who has a chance in turning this situation for the better.”

“Nao, I get where you’re going but there’s no way in hell I’m going to do that.”

“This mission is only up for 9 months. If you step down then someone else will take your place. With you being tied to the yakuza, the probability of having the time frame cut short is high.”

Ahh. The background-trump card. Of course the chief of police wanted to pull that off.

Before having entered the police force, you had been somewhat a part of the Abegawa Tenchu Kai group. Though the group had been put to an end, they had successfully managed to hide your father in a hidden pathway that none of the police had managed to find.

From there, he had slowly rebuilt it. Still enforcing the way of the yakuza, your father slowly came to realize just how little there was left of the yakuza. Secretly, he began to create ties with the police to ensure a bit of political immunity for his group. By the time you were born, things took a turn and the small organized crimes came to a halt.

When you gave him the news that you were joining the police force, he had let out a hearty laugh that echoed through the halls. Telling you it was ironic and certainly unexpected, he told you of the difficulties you would face but encouraged you the same.

“I know I’m tied up with them but having to fight another one would be difficult. You’re all too aware that the yakuza are a strongly knit group after they were disbanded one by one. Though I’m aware that the group mentioned is trying to take the lead, I would rather not be intertwined in a mess like this.” Your answer was stern but the look your partner gave you made things inconvenient. “Do not give me that look, Tsukauchi.”

“You won’t be alone in this. The plan is for you to talk to the Shie Hassaikai and use them as support for this one.”

“Lmao, what?” You held up your palm and shook your head with amusement. There was no way in hell you were about to create a bond with them. “D’you just hear yourself, Nao? Those people are whack and some are a lost cause already.”

“Overhaul is the current boss. Perhaps you can set a meeting with him and talk.” The way Overhaul came out of his mouth made him want to puke. It was a vile word, even for him. Yet, desperate times call for desperate measures. If low key teaming up with the Shie Hassaikai would put an end to the growing crimes the other group was causing, then so be it. “Just tell him that you won’t dig into his business.”

“You’re putting me in the hands of someone who could obliterate me in a matter of seconds.” You commented. Dragging the folder off the table, you tucked it into your bag and gulped the remaining amount of coffee. It’s taste now bland to you. “Wish me luck. I’m gonna be needing a lot of it.”

“I owe you a lot, (Y/N).” Tsukauchi thanked you while taking his coat and putting it on. Leading the way towards the exit, he opened the door for you and motioned for you to exit first. “Also, be aware that only a select group of people know about this arrangement.”

Rolling your eyes, you scoffed and waved goodbye.

Walking down the streets, your thoughts began to eat you up. If there was one thing your old man taught you, it was that the Shie Hassaikai had something going on beneath them. Of course, your father never gave any information as to what they did. All you could do was to respect his decision. He was still a yakuza after all. And despite what the people might think, the way of the yakuza wasn’t all that bad. At least when it came to morals of brotherhood, of course.

The screeching of tires caught your attention. A white carrier van came speeding through the road and took a rather sharp turn. It was probably 4 blocks from where you stood. You were off duty but still, trouble waits for no one. Cautiously, you jogged towards the location.

Not soon after, a small scale explosion made you wince. By now, you were running and saw the distressed people exiting the corner as a pillar of smoke started to climb towards the skies. Moving at fast speeds, you ended up bumping with a stranger with a black and gray mask on. His layered blue unbuttoned polo exposing his matching shirt. “Sorry, mister!” You apologized before turning around the corner. The look on his face was a little confused. You couldn’t blame him. Confusion was always part of the recipe of disaster.

You stopped running when you were met with dismembered and morphed bodies of the supposed to be criminals. Standing in front of you were 3 people. One with a large build, one who was slim but wore a hood, and the other with auburn hair. His dark green bomber jacket stood out due to the purple fur around the hood.

He seemed to be busy monologuing knowing he hasn’t killed you yet.

“And who might you be?” The voice seemed to be coming from above.

Not wanting to lose your sights on him, you watched as he turned around and faced you. His magenta bird mask on full display. His eyes still marked with the rage he had just let out a few moments ago. His golden eyes dug deep to your soul. It was scary to say the least.

Your heartbeat raced and your thoughts tried to come up with a logical explanation as to why you did not run away. When Overhaul took a step forward, you held your breath and opened your mouth.

“I’ve been meaning to talk with you, Overhaul.” Your eyes followed as his surgical covered hands began to adjust his mask. The twitch in his eye bringing you one step closer to death. “I’m from the Abegawa Tenchu Kai.”

It was amazing to you. How you casually stated you were part of another group. Feeling the air shift around you, the person who had asked as to who you were was now standing beside you. The beak of his mask a mere inches from your face. You wanted to glare at him, but the real threat here was the one right in front of you.

“It’s not safe to talk here. The police are coming and it’s pretty obvious you don’t want any more dirt on your hands, yes?” You began to walk backwards and motioned for them to follow you. They could follow you or they could just brush it aside and move along with whatever business they had in mind.

When the same person who had been beside you just now talked to Overhaul, it was now clear who he was. Chronostasis. One of his indisposable pawns. You’ve heard of the stories surrounding these two.

“You have approximately 5 minutes to decide before they arrive.” You informed them. “I’ll wait in the corner in case you want to hear what I have to say.”

When a minute had passed, you were now face to face with the leader of the Shie Hassaikai and his companion. He probably let the rest go on ahead. Good. At least he was curious as to what in the world a random person would want them for.

“Speak before he changes his mind.” Chrono threatened you.

Unwavered by that, you began to walk. Thankfully, the sidewalk didn’t have that many people.

“I need your help. The Fukuo Kai group have been getting restless.” If they were still updated with the inside news, you hoped you wouldn’t have to explain the details. It was too tiring and time was of the essence.

“Who exactly are you, woman?” This time you heard his voice. It was oddly intoxicating. He was careful but made sure not to show it.

“I’m sure you can do a background check on me. I have no way in stopping you, I’m all too aware.” Rummaging through your bag, you took out a pen and paper. Jotting your number down, you handed it to Chrono. If the stories were right, he would freak out if you were to touch him. “If you want to talk about this more in your office, feel free to hit me up. But, no to kidnapping. It’s tiresome.”

Overhaul just stared at you. Calculating what to do next. Or how this would benefit him. Yes, he would surely ask some of his men to follow you around but with you being tied with the Abegawa Tenchu Kai, it was almost certain that you had henchmen following you around. Looking over at his masked companion, Chrono immediately understood that a background check would be done the moment they would step into the grounds.

“2 days. If no call, I’ll move on to the next people on my list.” You gave them a quick bow. There was no need to but he was who he was. The rumors being spread about him and his plans were most probably true. He at least deserved a half ass bow from you.

Knowing it was more than enough contact, you turned to the next corner and made your way back home. All too aware that the possibility of being followed was all too high. There were two ways you could go, you could go to your apartment or go home. None of that surely mattered with who he was and what he was capable of. Letting out a sigh, you went with the former.

By the time you arrived in your unit, you flopped on your sofa and threw your bag to the coffee table. Sinking further and further down, you flailed for a few seconds before composing yourself. Leaning towards your bag, you took out your phone and began to dial up a number.

“What can I do for you, (N/N)-chan?” The voice over the phone said.

“Is dad busy?”

“The boss is currently out of office. He’ll be back in a few hours. He shifted in his seat and felt a tad antsy. “Is something wrong?”

“Nah. Just miss the old man.” Giving him a chuckle, you sat straight up and pulled your bag closer towards you. Shuffling through the mess as you took the folder out. Placing it on your table, your eyes began to wander and skim through the pages. “Anyway, I gotta go. Tell him to call me back.”

When he gave his reply, the call ended and you immediately began to read the information more closely.

Hours had now passed and you ended up crashing on the couch. By the time you woke up, the room was now dark save for the city lights illuminating the walls softly. Stretching your limbs, you stood up and turned the lights on. It was painfully blinding but you adjusted quick enough.

Checking your phone for any messages, you tossed it back on the couch and grunted. Zero. Nada. Zilch.

With nothing else to do, you decided to get started with dinner.

Pasta and wine. That’s what you craved for. Not sure why but all the contents were now laid out before you. Preparation time would take around 30. Nothing too long or too fast, just right. Starting the labor, you began to heat up water in a pot and began to prepare the sauce.

Moving in a trance, the sound of your phone ringing caused you to jump. Wiping your hands clean with a tissue, you jogged towards the living room and stared at the unknown number.

‘Shit.’ You mentally prepared yourself. “(L/N) speaking.”

Before you could respond, he ended the call. For someone who was rumored to be antisocial, he sure had a knack of being sarcasm. Who were you kidding, that wasn’t sarcasm.

Walking back to your kitchen, your mind was out of it as you continued making dinner. Your foot began tapping your tiled floor. What would happen tomorrow? Sure, you knew where they were situated but to be inside their headquarters? A chill ran down your spine.

In the task force, you were one of the people who were experts on reading people. Yet, the Shie Hassaikai leader was one person you would rather not read into. Sociopaths were usually textbook people but for someone who was whispered to be an antisocial sociopath? Your mind couldn’t comprehend what goes through his head.

Safe to say that you did not enjoy your dinner.

Time was now moving fast. In the blink of an eye, you found yourself at the gates of their headquarters. Last night, you fell into such a deep sleep that you barely had enough time to dream. With only another cup of coffee to keep you going, you knocked on the wooden gates and waited for entry.

The gates opened slightly. You were met with a random thug who didn’t wear a mask. He was wearing plain simple clothes but the look on his face told you he was definitely not happy to see you.

“I have some business with Overhaul.” You said plainly.

“Oh so you’re that woman.” Opening the gates a little wider, he watched as you entered. “Follow me, missy.”

The headquarter’s building was designed similar to your home. Traditional Japanese interior when you made your way through the front door. The tatami mats lined on the floor while the shoji screens littered every few steps.

The walking stopped and you were now face to face with Chrono. His mask present and his hood kept his hair hidden. The man who led you quickly bowed and left without looking back.

“Not the traditional meeting room?” You tried to joke. Met with only silence, you told him you were ready and he began to walk down the dimly lit path. Tailing behind him, you took note of the turns you had to take. For a while, it began to confuse you and realized that the sole purpose was for that.

It went on for quite some time before the halls were now lit properly and a double door was now facing you.

“Do I knock? Or do I just barge in?” You turned to be face to face with Chrono. A smirk landed on your face when he let out an unamused sigh. Before you knew it, he leaned and opened the doors for you.

Making your way inside, the decor of the room was nothing much. Two sofas parallel to each other with a table situated in the middle. A banner of their insignia hung proudly on the wall. Sitting on one of the couches was the reason why you were even down here.

Without his obnoxious bomber jacket, you had to admit that Overhaul looked pretty damn fine. Clean and proper. Taking a seat on the empty sofa, you leaned on to the back and shrugged your shoulders.

“Well, what do you wanna talk about?” You decided to start the conversation. In a way, it calmed your senses since the silence was deafening.

“What do I get in return?” His elbows rested on his knees. Tilting his head a little bit, he squinted his eyes ever so slightly. The horrible lighting of the room somehow made the golden trimming of his mask shine.

“You get to take their rank. You’re aware that the Fukoa Kai are pretty up there and surely you would love to have additional men behind your back.”

“And why would a police officer like you want to ask help from people like us? That’s a bit ironic now isn’t it?” Not a single movement save for his occasional blinking. “I’ve heard stuff about your lot. And it would definitely make things a whole lot easier. Besides, the chief of police saw it amusing by using me as a bridge. You’ve done your background check I presume?”

“(L/N). Daughter of the man who reestablished the Abegawa Tenchu Kai group from the dirt. Top ranking police officer despite having been born with the yakuza way.” He began to relay out. “Political immunity granted due to the old man pulling a few strings and helping the force every now and then. Such a shame his goal was patterned like that .”

Years of hearing that, you were now immune to those choice of words.

“If it calms your clammy hands,” You retorted. His eyebrows jumped a bit at how you raised your voice. “Only a few select people know about this. We plan to keep this on the low hence me meeting you. You won’t be meeting any of them, save for maybe one. But other than that, this would surely benefit you more than it would for us.”

“Tell me, (L/N).” He was now leaning on the back of the sofa. His head craned back to rest as well. You couldn’t help but wonder how heavy that mask was. Or what he was hiding underneath it. “Do you play shogi?”

Not expecting the question, you couldn’t help but giggle ever so slightly. Making sure that your hand partly covered the smile you were holding in. Tucking in a loose strand of hair, you lifted your chin and responded.

“I do but I’m not the best at it.”

“If I am satisfied with how you play, then we will commence whatever plan you have in your head.” He motioned for Chrono to get the board. “But, should I win, you have to add a few more privileges for my participation.”

“I’ll have to…” You had to cut yourself. Coming to a conclusion that your chief would surely decline it, you would just have to face the consequences of it later. “Sure.”

Watching as his companion laid out the board, you took the opportunity to observe what you could with the man sitting in front of you. His shoulders were broad and his face smooth. His eyebrows were quite unique as well. His lower lashes were eye catching, no doubt. Though his eyes were the money shot though. The dim lighting did no justice to the golden hues he were gifted with.

When his eyes met yours, he raised an eyebrow. You raised one as well. Furrowing his brows, you merely blinked lazily. Squinting your eyes, they slowly traveled down to his shoulders. Realizing that you were clearly checking him out, you jolted your sight once more and met his. The staring game was always fun for you knowing you don’t chicken out. When Overhaul finally broke connection, he gave you the liberty of ushering the first move.

The only sound that now echoed the room was the sound of your pieces being put into place. It was a rather intense game. For a while, he had managed to snag some of your powerful pieces but you managed to turn the table around by taking his as well. Chrono stared intently at the game. Seeing how his boss was now playing with his hundred percent was something he had not seen in a while. Looking at you, you were unfazed by the pressure of playing with the boss.

Little did they know that behind your poker face, you were panicking. The moves left were slowly depleting and you could only go on for a few more minutes. It was too obvious he was enjoying this. Deciding to play on defense, you picked up a tile and placed it where you intended it to be.

This exchange of moves went for a few more minutes before you finally saw the opportunity to grab his king. By now both of you had practically an equal amount of each other's soldiers. Though it would require you to sacrifice three pawns, the feeling for victory would probably be within reach in 5 moves.

5 moves later, you finally leaned back on the sofa. That had been one of the longest games of shogi you had ever played. Mentally, you were drained and hungry. The effects of the coffee had worn down 16 moves ago and you wanted to stuff down a hearty burger before you head to the precinct.

“When will the operation start?” Overhaul asked as he still stared at the board. Processing how he had just lost. Yet, he had to admit that your final moves were brilliant.

“I’ll give you a call.” You tossed the piece and he caught it with ease. His eyesight never tore from yours as he placed it back on the board. “But, I am in a rather good mood. The only add on I can give to you is that no snooping around will happen. Whatever it is you have planned in this maze of an office you have, I’ll have nothing to do with it. I’m here for one purpose and one purpose only.”

“Then so be it.” He accepted the offer. “If there’s nothing else-”

“How heavy is your mask?” You blurted out.

Both men in the room were rather speechless at the sudden question. Even you were surprised. That had simply been a thought but your mouth seemed to move faster than your brain could comprehend. Perhaps it was the hunger taking over.

“You don’t have to answer that.” You looked away and stared at their banner. Shame and embarrassment creeping into you. “But, yeah. There’s all there is to it.”

Once again, you were back to the winding halls. You didn’t bother memorizing the area knowing full well you were bound to go back. When the traditional walls were within sight once again, all you could think of was the exit and the nearest hamburg shop.

“What’s your quirk?” Chrono suddenly asked.

“Thought you’d already know by now.” You replied.

“It was marked as classified information no matter how deep we dived into the systems. Did you pay for the secrecy?”

“Nope. Well, maybe.” You were now facing the entrance. Chrono was still waiting for an answer. “I’ll tell you when the time comes. But, it has something to do with health. So if it makes your boss any less worried about the germs I carry, I’m clean.”

Waving a farewell, you walked and exited yourself away from the building.

Taking your phone out, you searched for the nearest hamburg store and began to walk your way. It was only a few blocks away so it wouldn’t hurt to exercise your legs. Glancing at the time, you were shocked that 2 hours had passed in that meeting. It felt too fast but perhaps it was the shogi that took up most of the time.

Realizing that you had to send updates to your partner, you searched for his contact and hit dial. He answered after the second ring.

“Yes, (Y/N)?” The typing of his keyboard was evident and you recalled just how many other cases he had under his care.

“It’s a done deal. But, I had to cave in with his one demand.” Letting him digest what you had just shared, you heard the creak of his office chair. A sigh followed after. “We are not to meddle with his affairs. One purpose and that’s it.”

“Well, at least it’s not much. And another team is currently doing that as well. Still, as expected from my partner.” He praised you. “How’d you do it?”

“I beat him at a game of shogi.” You couldn’t help but smirk at the memory of him realizing he was in too deep to pull himself out of the corner. “Anyway, I’ll be eating lunch. Want me to bring you something?”

“Daifuku will do.”

“Got it.”

Ending the call, you scrolled down through your contacts once more. Hitting up the dial button, you finally arrived at the food chain. The ringing still killing your ears. When the waitress handed you the menu, you were put into voicemail.

“Gei. Pick me up when you get this.” Placing your phone on the table, you called the waitress and told her your order. It would take 15 minutes for your food to arrive and that meant you had 15 minutes to dig around what you could about Overhaul.

Scrolling through news articles, there wasn’t a lot of coverage about him. As expected from a young yakuza member. How old was he anyway? Remembering how you asked him about his mask, you face palmed and scolded yourself.

The screen changed and Gei was calling you. A smile found its way to your lips. “Whattup girrrl?!” Your friend greeted you. His voice pitchy as always and you were positive he was moving his head with every word.

Yet, despite his personality, you knew that Gei would always be there for you no matter what. Of course, with him being your loud best friend, it was a given that you would do anything for him as well.

Your food was now served and you downed it in just 10 minutes. A new record, if you said so yourself. Wrapping things up, you took the daifuku and went your way towards the precinct. Wishing you had taken your car, you called for a taxi and took a quick nap.

Leon: A member of the Nohrian royal family must never embarass themselves, be firm of mind, and always remember to present themselves with grace. However, I sometimes end up wearing my clothes inside out for some reason. I really should be more careful... By the way, have we met somewhere before... ?

Topic 2 – About Kamui

Anna: So, what do you think of Kamui precisely? Also, if Kamui were below you in age, would you rather have them as a younger brother or sister?

Leon: They do have their talents, but I guess no matter how old they get, they are so unreliable it always makes me want to help them out. It seems I just can't leave them on their own. As for if Kamui were younger than me, I'd prefer to have them as a younger sister. A younger brother would likely mean more competition, you see.

Topic 3 – About his siblings

Anna: I see... So you would prefer another little sister. Well, how do you feel about your older brother and sister?

Leon: In many ways, Marx is the strongest man in Nohr. It shows in how he embodies the ideal of the Nohrian crown prince, his skill with the sword... how as an older brother, he shows a special kindness only to his siblings. However, there are ways in which he can be just too stubborn. Although we are currently amicable with each other, his unbending nature has caused us to quarrel in the past, to the point he even hit me once.

Anna: Ehh! Prince Marx might have just made himself the enemy of 50 million Leon fans around the whole world.

Leon: As you may know, in the whole kingdom of Nohr, Camilla's beauty and the depth of her affection is unmatched. The way she coldly dispatches of her enemies is also more than befitting of Nohrian royalty. Although it seems she doesn't pay much attention, she has actually been focusing on me quite a bit... Her offer to share a bath has been troubling for me though.

Leon, your siscon tendencies are showing.

Anna: Mhm mhm... //Taking a bath with Camilla... Now that's some good material.// So how about your younger sister, Elise?

Leon: I'll just say this here, but I feel like she's a great help in a lot different ways. This isn't just me, all of us siblings have come to truly rely on her. I just wish she would stop tackling me with all her strength whenever we met. *laughs* I also want her to stop drumming her fists against my back so relentlessly. It actually hurts a lot...

Topic 4 – About parent-child relations

Anna: You won't like this question, but what about your father, King Garon, and also... your mother?

Leon: My father used to be a kind man. I still remember him keeping me company during study time or letting me ride on his shoulders. Having him pat my head with his huge hand is something I used to love. He may have become an entirely different person since that incident in the past, but I would still like to meet and be able to talk to the father from my childhood just one more time.

Tagging @agoddamn here because we’ve recently discussed the extent of Leon’s memorys of the real Garon. Still a bit vague, but it seems he already had an education/training (the kanji could mean both) going before Garon died, though with his mom being so ambitious he may have started quite young still.

Leon: As far as my mother is concerned, I don't have any special memories. That woman only ever thought of me as a tool that would bind her to the king, so I couldn't bring myself to love her either. … Is that enough?

Anna: Th- Thank you. A- Anyway, your son also seems to be rather... how to put this? Quirky... //Oh jeez! I brough up another topic he hates!!//

Leon: This is about Foleo, I see. At first I also mistook his intentions, but it turns out he is simply sticking to his own personal aesthetic. Just knowing about his convictions, I can honestly say I'm fine with it. Someday though he'll have to make a decision regarding the calling passed down through his blood, what it means to be Nohrian royalty at it’s core. … When the time comes, I hope his courage will help him make the right choice.

Not sure I like how “mistook his intentions” is phrased... What other intentions could Foleo have had that wouldn’t have been okay in Leon’s eyes?

Topic 5- About himself

Anna: What do you think about being called cold-blooded? If you could give your own estimation of yourself, what would it be?

Leon: Although I'm not about to point out specific things I like about myself, I can say that I do have confidence in myself. Otherwise I wouldn't be fit to be royalty. That means even when I am sometimes insecure, I at least have to seem confident. My flaws are in those areas I don't have sufficent knowledge of. It's not that I ever neglect my studies, but I am fully aware it's still not entirely good enough.

Topic 6 – About taste in women

Anna: I am pretty sure I am asking this in the name of all your female fans, but could you share what you like in a girl? Let's give an example! You like, say, the open-minded type, or...

Leon: Well, I have never experienced a mother's love. But when it comes to choosing a partner, it's wrong to say I only long for someone to give me the love my mother never did, so I want to name a another criteria. Let's see, I'd say I like strength, but I mean that as being intelligent. Not just someone who is well-studied, but one who doesn't let their guard down around an enemy, who is able to accurately assess any given situation. That's the kind of intelligence I like.

SPECIAL GUEST TAKUMI

Takumi: Huh, it's strange seeing you two together.

Anna: Ah, it's the Prince who loves the Southern Islands! … Er, rather the Prince of Hoshido, Lord Takumi!

Leon: Prince Takumi? I thought you were staying in the southern islands right now.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think this is the first time (or one of the few times) Leon has used the ending zo (ぞ) to a sentence in Japanese. Usually his style of speech is already pretty casual and „boyish“ in the anime-sense (it doesn't work exactly like that in real life), with him ending many sentences in „da“ (だ). It's makes it sound a bit harder.. ぞ can be seen as a step up in that, really „decisive“ sounding. It's something you would only use with friends or people of lower social standing, but we can guess which one he means here.~

Takumi: …? What are you two on about?

Leon: Speaking of, thank you for sending me that miso supply the other day. I am grateful for it.

Anna: Lord Leon actually ended up cooking the soup for himself. Suprisingly though...

Leon: That's right. I understand what I like best after all. This time I decided to try putting some tomatoes in it.

Takumi: T- Tomatoes!? You put tomatoes in miso soup!? Please stop joking. This is why you are Nohr's tomato prince...

Leon: Who are you calling tomato prince!? I think it's terrible how you Hoshidans always cling to your old traditions.

Anna: Uh.. Haha. Looks like I got between them~!

Hello! I’m coming to everyone with a few different updates today! This is a bit of a long post under the cut and there will be some more updates and announcements soon, but I wanted to split them up to avoid one super long post. Keep an eye out for another admin post in the near future, but this post still covers a variety of topics that are important for members to read!

Firstly, I want to ask anyone with an opinion on the matter to contribute it to this poll. I’ve been considering adding some of Brown Eyed Girls’ music (namely their three 2011-2015 albums and the rumored upcoming comeback if it happens) to Silhouette’s future model discography. Since Miss A and Fiestar are disbanded and EXID has only one guaranteed Korean comeback left with Hani and Jeonghwa confirmed to be leaving Banana Culture, it feels like a good time to start picking an additional group to give room for more songs to be released by them. Brown Eyed Girls is the standout above any other choices that fit Silhouette’s intended direction to me, but if members have a problem with this addition, I’ll reconsider. I’ll take the opinions of those with muses in Silhouette into special consideration, so if that applies to you, you’re free to message me directly if you have opposition to the addition! Should this addition happen, it is planned to play into a “renewal of Silhouette” plot line eventually (more towards the end of this year), with Gold Star’s creative directors trying to pull them out of what Gold Star perceives as a rut and keep them competitive by pushing the boundaries with more provocative, badass bu still sexy concepts like they were once known for. It will also contrast with the stricter creative and conceptual boundaries Gold Star’s younger girl groups like Fuse and Femme Fatale are kept within.

Secondly, the two previously unavailable BC Soloist spots have been removed. For BC Soloist 1, with Hyuna signing under P Nation, it’s unclear how often she’ll comeback once she starts releasing music again and the spot has been unavailable for so long now it only feels right to reopen it instead of continuing to wait. In character, this will be handled as a situation where an NPC soloist’s contract (someone who had a similar concept/sound to Hyuna, but not specifically Hyuna’s music anymore) simply ended and the soloist chose not to re-sign with BC Entertainment. This would publicly cause BC Entertainment to take a small hit in stocks, but there’s no major drama to it like there was with Goeun’s departure from Lipstick. BC Soloist 2 is being removed since, in the two years since the roleplay opened, I’ve learned it’s hard to tie soloists who fall further outside of the traditional idol bubble into the world of the roleplay, and BC Soloist 2 is the furthest outside still remaining. In character, for him, his existence as a soloist will be erased entirely from BC’s past instead of having left in-character. Hyuna’s and Dean’s discographies are now available as points claims. This means BC currently has no soloist spots for the time being. If your muse had a claim to a past feature or MV claim to one of those two soloists and you’d like to discuss replacing it, please message me! I may be willing to bend certain aspects of past claims rules to find a replacement if we need to since I’m inconveniencing you!

I’d also like to give a quick reminder to anyone who hasn’t done so lately (and maybe even if you have!) to please remind yourself of the in-character contract guidelines and make sure you (and your muses) are keeping those in mind! They’re important and do apply to everyone unless otherwise stated. Please take some time to refresh your memory of the rules elsewhere within the roleplay if you haven’t lately as well!

On the subject of the rules, I have a few reminders about the general roleplay rules.

Please remember that while the rules are flexible about OOC posts on the dash to avoid the problems that can arise with a group chat, there are still rules to follow with OOC posts. Make sure to trigger tag OOC posts just as you would a piece of in-character writing (including tags for NSFW content) and don’t make posts about serious out of character conflict or disagreements on the dash, whether they’re direct or indirect.

Tag all NSFW posts as NSFW and put them under a readmore. It’s one little tag and if you aren’t sure whether something is NSFW, do it anyway to be safe. Muses and faceclaims who are minors in South Korea (under 19 international age) shouldn’t be involved in sexual content on the dash in any manner. Likewise, do not use gif icons or photo resources of a faceclaim when they were underage to accompany sexual content and discussions either. Smut is banned for faceclaims and muses who are not yet adults in Korea, and with that comes other discussions and threads of a NSFW context. This includes any flashback threads where a muse would have been under the age of majority at the time. Again, same thing applies for muns under 18. Don’t lie about your age to be able to write explicit sexual content with your muse, as that will result in a permanent ban from the group. In general, just be mindful and use common sense about what’s appropriate and what’s not when it comes to NSFW content.

Do not god mod or meta game. Don’t assume the actions, thoughts, or relationship to your muse of another muse or an established NPC/executive without getting approval first. Don’t assume your muse knows something about another muse that isn’t explicitly public knowledge just because you as a mun have read something about the muse. Just like NSFW tagging, if you aren’t sure, it’s better to be safe than sorry and ask the mun instead of ending up godmodding or metagaming.

Almost lastly, I’d also like to clear up some questions, address some details, and maybe even tackle some natural changes regarding the Exclusive blog. As the roleplay gets bigger, it gets harder to fit in every possible article someone may want for their muse in a timely manner, so please try to keep article requests and submission to major things like claims (if you’re writing your own claim article) or scandals and major plot progression articles (if they’ve been approved). A lot of occurrences that fall outside of that (though not all!) are going to need a viral moment claim to garner an article and be considered newsworthy. I don’t want to bring in super tight, strict limits to what can be used for an article, but please try to consider what might benefit from an official article and what might work better as a headcanon or detail in a self-para. Submitting an article earns a point because those articles are supposed to develop character/career or showcase a development of character/career, so keep that in mind. This reminder wasn’t brought around by any particular occurrence and it’s not been a problem yet, but I did want to put this out there. Since the Exclusive blog has been putting out more posts lately than it had before, now seems like a good time to mention this in passing! Exclusive is intended to be a news source in a similar vein to Dispatch, meaning they may have a reputation for being invasive and having under-the-table deals with companies, but are still a news source as opposed to a fansite or an idol-only outlet. If you’re ever on the fence about whether something might make a good article in that context, feel free to ask and I’ll be happy to answer!

Lastly, though it’s over a month late, I’d like to give every muse who’s currently in the roleplay (and all muns who have read this whole post) a free 5 points on their trackers in honor of our second anniversary that passed at the beginning of April. You can link to this post on your points tracker as the source of the points.

That’s a RAGS issue. Make sure you’re saving only when it is safe as detailed at the beginning of the game. Other than that if you finish day the names should update back to normal.

No problems. Same way as setting them to the role so Right click > Talk to > Assign to an Encampment Position > -None-.

There’s a couple of positions like second-in-command where slavers will resist giving up power and for them you’ll have to use more nefarious methods.

It is corrupted rubber of perversion and evil so is capable of having holes for hair :)

Also one of the risks with corruption is you can very much lose as well as win such is the risks of flirting with depravity for power be it traits, arms, or even your nice eyes.

The new assignment that will start the biomancy chain begins in the City of Aversol. It's a rare assignment, can be done by anyone with or without biomancy, and like bred to be broken you need a certain amount of gold in the stash to find it.

Theoretically I think? It’s going to be a long shot though unless you can mess with them like making them a bimbo through corruption or send them off on quick as you like.

Dominating is a short term will overwhelm so once it’s done the merc would just be unhappy and leave.

I’ll think about it. Not super into incest as it is, and the parental versions even less so. Saying that next update will have some implication in regard to one of the assignments so it’s possible as long as it’s not that much of a focus.

If you mean the four-winged Truly Divine one then that commission is being used for an assignment next update.

From Hypnopics: This game really needs a way to quickly and easily dismiss slavers and slaves you don't want. You should be able to immediately sell slaves taken as loot, even if only for 15-20 gold and able to R. click - dismiss slaves and slavers. I keep hitting a wall with content blocked because i have too many mediocre slaves/ slavers.

Update following the next one is going to be about having a more reliable way of freeing slaves than sending them to the whore makers. Slavers I always wanted to be one of your challenges to manage with more events coming involving them working to undermine your authority which is why you're limited to assignments like Sudden Betrayal. Saying that there likely will be more options to manipulate their morale/reputation to get them to bugger off coming in future. I'm also planning to introduce slave mines/farms/temples where you'll be able to parcel off a whole number of slaves and slavers at once for an ongoing bonus and the occasional choice/assignments to keep them going.

From TFGames: Loving the new update so far. I was playing with the slave mantras and really liking them, but had something happen. Had gotten two mantras on one slave, Obedience, which had fully embedded, and Sissy, which was at the advanced stage. I was planning on adding some more later, but wanted to finish his proper training first. I ended up getting a crit on Advanced Obedience training and giving him the Obedient trait (there's too many uses of the word Obedient in this paragraph). After that, I couldn't select him for hypnosis. I suspect because of the Obedient trait, it thinks that he has the Denial mantra embedded (which also gives the trait and blocks other mantras). Also, I haven't tried yet, but does the Bimbo mantra block Bimbo training? I had a couple odd situations in the previous version where traits gained outside of training blocked those associated trainings. Two main examples: Had a slave escape, recaptured with a crit, then escaped and recaptured with a crit again, giving them Obedient. However I couldn't do Advanced Obedience Training with them any more. Second was had a slave at Basic Sissy training stage and they got the Pretty Maid corruption result, switching them to the Sissy gender, but also blocking the Advanced Sissy training option. No I know these might be redundant, but the trainings alone add value to the slave, but then getting traits with shortcuts or luck could be a balancing factor, so it might be intentional. Anyway, this was in the last version so it might not be in the current one.

Those are both connected issues and kind of working as intended. If you get what the training/hypnosis is basically trying to achieve then that training/hypnosis becomes no longer available. Think about it as having different paths to the same result. Does mean that you don't get the same value bonuses, but I think I'm okay with that as it reflects how long you spent perfecting the slave and keeps them from being quite so similar in the long run. I do agree though that this can feel off and I'm open to other takes on this as it's feedback I've heard a few times now.

From TFGames: I voted Lamia because I feel like keeping track of all your slavers and all their traits is exhausting and starting with one fewer gives you a bit of time to get familiar with them before adding more.

There's also elitist and proactive under the full custom options if you want to start with less slavers. If you want to go full minimalist there's also the golem scenario where you start with only three slavers.

From TFGames: Hello, I just spent about 20 hours playing this awesome game for the past 3 days!! It made me insane. I especially loved exploring the limits of corruption and biomancy. There is a lot of content with cum consumption, which is pretty cool =). There's one thing I didn't get: how to raise the encampment leader's tolerance for highly rated armors and clothes? I could wear a 55 rated item at most, but that's it. Oh and also, can the encampment leader get corrupted to the point of getting Babydoll? Or is that just for other players? I managed to inflict Babydoll on two slaves, but never on myself. Anyway, this game is awesome =D. Thank you for doing this.

Thank you, I'm glad you've been enjoying it! The clothing limit is in place to prevent you completely fucking your ability to lead by putting yourself in bondage. Then now the takeover options are included I may just remove it so you can see how long you can last while being in an armbinder and the like Babydoll for now is limited to others. Will possibly change this again given the takeover options as such a naive and gullible leader is also not going to last long at all. Though for that I'd want to include more personalization for the player to properly reflect that corruption.

Hey y’all, here with the usual week update:

Tomorrow and Tuesday I’m streaming the long awaited Despair Route for s4.

For those still left in the dark as to what the Despair Route is, it’s basically a route where the main end goal is to have Louis and Tenn alive while also causing as much despair as possible, therefore:

Clementine is an asshole to everyone who isn’t AJ or Louis. No one else escapes her wrath so if Clem being mean to your favorite character is something you can’t handle, then avoid the stream.

Clementine’s approach to AJ is “Do as I say, not as I do.” After Marlon, AJ isn’t allowed to kill, nor is he allowed to do anything considered bad while Clementine murders as much as possible and is overall a terrible human being.

Clementine will romance Louis, then betray him at the end of episode 2, resulting in the tongueless Louis romance ending.

Clementine will save Violet, only to not trust AJ which results in her dying on the bridge. This gives us the Tenn ending.

Clementine will kill every single walker, which will make James furious [but that doesn’t matter, he won’t live long enough to threaten her legs or anything]

Lilly’s gonna live... which fucking sucks.

Bad choices will be made and I will be angry a good 60% of this route.

So if you want to come and hang with me while I play through this route, then you’re more than welcome to pop in and say hello, join the chat in screaming about Louis and other shit, and cry with me. I just ask that you’re respectful to those in the chat and to me, so no getting rude when I’m mean to your favorite character, m’kay? It’s all in good fun.

We’re starting earlier that usual, around 5:15 - 5:30ish [mountain time]. We’ll play through the first two episodes, then the last two episodes on Tuesday, same time.

Wednesday I’m streaming... something.

I dunno what yet.

I have a feeling that the Despair Route is gonna take a lot out of me, and since Wednesday will be the only other night I have off this week to stream something, I’m gonna want to stream something fun. I guess.

Maybe I’ll do more Death Road. Or, maybe I’ll pick up Life is Strange 2 since that’s a game we talked about during the last few streams.

Or, hell, maybe I’ll do Before the Storm.

I know I said that I didn’t want to play that one because I didn’t want having Rachel being an actual character to “ruin” Life is Strange for me... but then I thought about it, and it’s already ruined. Y’know? How could it get any more ruined? Meeting Rachel or not, Life is Strange is nonredeemable after that bullshit nightmare that was episode 5.

So yeah, I might play that.

Or maybe I’ll just bring up Louis in the character viewer and cry for five hours.

I haven’t decided yet.

I decided to take a break from the polls for this week, so y’all don’t have to worry about voting for anything.

This is because I’m tired of waiting to talk about Javier Garcia damn it. I want to talk about Javi this Saturday so that’s what we’re gonna do.

As for our usual ship night, I thought it’s been a while since we did an AU night, and after getting this ask:

I started to think of an AU where Richmond is gone, so the Garcia’s + Clementine pack up, grab AJ, and then truck along until they come across Ericson and the raiders.

I think that would be a fascinating AU to talk about. I mean, having Clementine, AJ, Javi, David, Gabe, Kate, and Mari because I said so, ALL showing up at Ericson? Helping them fight off Lilly and the raiders? Sign me up, I’m down.

So that’s the AU we’re gonna discuss. I don’t have a name for it yet, but I’ll come up with something.

The us vs them mentality is getting out of hand...

and I’m going to take one of the lone stances on this because this is in regards to USER behavior. Not all the negativity that people are lobbing at the staff.

The problem at least from what I’ve seen, is that users drew and us vs them line. A small sect jumped on the bandwagon, and a few, have crossed the TOS line in outright attacking staff, then try to defend it with “well we just got blunt”. No, trust me if staff wasn’t already aware of the comments and dealing with them, I would have reported some of those comments to a mod. Since they way breached the line of attacking at the staff. The fact that so many feel the need to voice off site where they know there are no repercussions also solidify my thoughts that users need to take a hard step back and think about what they are saying.

Users went way overboard with comments, living with Kaiyo I always have to filters what I say or do because I want her to feel comfertable talking in her own home, but at times things are relayed that are staff-level need to know. So if this feels like I’m curbing what I say, I am, because I don’t want to ever put her in a position she can’t speak out when she needs to.

However, that said, this last event started with so much love and planning. Yasu was outright giddy, he almost NEVER gets into events and he was so into this one he was on a leader board. By the end, there was talk of just ending the event early, users over the span of a short time got so attacking and the staff took it. My personal opinion in that regard is staff bends over backwards and allows people to attack them so much that users are to the point they think they can say anything, even attack them outright with things that would get you warned or banned if you did it to a user, because they are trying to understand users are frustrated. However by doing so it’s created such a entitlement that users push that too far and then when they finally DO get told to stop they riot with no regard to consider their own behavior was tolerated for a very long time until they got told to stop.

I think the polls, speak for themselves, the vast majority of the site loved the event, even with it’s glitches or issues. However the vast majority are not the ones that speak up because the small handful of vile people on the site start backhanded vindette agienst them.

At this point, I know even I have people who have done things to try to get in in trouble with real life people. Yes I’m aware of what you did, yes I could have retaliated or sought legal restraining orders that would have forced you off Aywas (and before someone says bull shit, go read up on Minnesota Harassment Orders, they cover digital/internet/social media. I’m not bullsihtting you).

I didn’t because I’m not a petty person, and I didn’t let it effect my life. I proved to who I needed to what was said about me was a lie, and it ended there. I’m sure you had a good laugh thinking you got me in trouble but you never did. Trust me, people came to me to warn me what your doing, even your inner circle, and friends, hate what you do so much they warn users when you pick a target.

However the reason i say this is not because I want pity or to even point anything at myself, I say it to point out how toxic a handful of people are. I don’t name names for a reason, I feel they don’t deserve attention, even negative, to what they do. They’ve done the same thing to staff members, and still do, I know at least 2 staff members refuse to join/post on the Aywas Facebook so people can’t start to dig into where they live. I know another did join but locked down thier FB profile so that unless they friend you first, you can’t even find their profile and when they do post their name is black and unclickable.

I don’t name where I live now, for Kaiyo’s sake, though I know people do know where about it is, I still won’t do anything that would possibly lead to real life retaliation agienst her.

However I want users to step back and think if staff has to so closely guard themselves in real life, to avoid what users DO over a virtual game that no one is being forced to play... what abuse really is going on that users never see?

How many of YOU have to fear what friends, family, or EMPLOYERS, will be told about you, because someone doesn’t like the way a sale is going, or whatever you can compare in your real life job to an event on Aways?

NO ONE should have to fear what happens at a job, will follow them home and cause undue stress and what many staff and even some users do. However that is the toxic level the site gets to when even one or two users feel the event or site is not catering to them this -moment-. Kaiyo has a full time job now, and I guarantee on BREAKS where she’s supposed to be able to relax and clear her head she’s dealing with the bullshit the users lobbed at staff, meaning she gets no time to be herself.

Also before anyone goes “Well that’s what she’s paid for” she’s not. She’s never said it but I’ll say it for her. She is the LAST person that gets paid on staff. So if artists payments are behind? she doesn’t get paid. If the funds are 0, they go to back debt FIRST. Kaiyo sacrifices everything, to make sure the site, coder, artists ect get paid. If anyone isn’t up to date SHE DOESN’T GET PAID. This is not a condition of her position this is a personal choice she has made to keep Aywas afloat and not be part of the drain.

This means to my knowlage she usually only gets paid when everything is 100% caught up, such at, around black Friday. Even then, it takes a lot of convincing from friends and Slash/staff/whoever for her to take any payments. It’s just as hard for anyone to convince her to supplement, by paying herself in site currency. She just won’t do it, she 250% undervalues her worth and I admire her for it but I feel like someone has to say it even if she hates me later for doing so. The reason she has a full time job now, is because one can’t go /without/ pay while working a job. So her updates might be slower but she still works her ass off now, doing one job that pays her, and one that in essence, doesn’t.

I’m a bit off topic but I wanted to show why staff is starting to close ranks, it’s not because they want a us vs them mentality, the current comment locked news post is so users can talk to staff openly, look at how MANY comments there currently are. Compare it to public comment posts, users are coming out of the woodwork to voice how they feel where it’s safe, where other users can’t bicker or argue or put them down.

The community has gotten so toxic people won’t TALK anymore about this stuff because they get attacked or worse. Now that they have a forum to talk to staff one-on-one, look at how MANY are talking. Take a step back and ask yourself why it takes a “only staff can see” type of post, for this many users to feel safe talking.

Clearly it’s not STAFF they’re scared to talk to.

Clearly they want to talk to staff and staff wants to talk to them.

Every time the staff tries to word things one way, one group goes “they offends us, that’s attacking” so they change it over to a softer tone and another group comes out and says “it’s confusing when it’s not straight forward”. There will always be a group that complains, and just because staff is making sure users are aware they’re breaking TOS and it needs to stop. Doesn’t mean they’re making a us vs them. It means they’re trying to rein things back into a professional sense.

Just because they’re enforcing rules, and trying to make aywas less hostile doesn’t mean they’re not listening, not caring, or trying to make it a war. They’re trying to make users own up to their behavior and act like the adults they are, not like children throwing tantrums.

I can’t think of anything else to say that isn’t going to spiral down into the abyss of -me- starting to single out users so I’ll stop typing now.

Resolutions... (1.1.18)

Happy new year all! I’ve just got in from a morning walk along Hove seafront (fifth year in a row so I’m officially calling it a family tradition on New Year’s day). Like a lot of people out there I’m now giving some thought to what I should pick as a New Year’s resolution.

In honesty, there aren’t any major changes I’ve made in my life so far that I can attribute to the year change. When I’ve made a resolution it’s really only been things I wanted to do anyway, such as my successful resolution in 2004 to smoke even more cigarettes (no problems that year). Thinking about it now, when I did quit the habit in 2007 my last cigarette was smoked on January 5th, so close to New Year’s day, on a sunny but freezing day outside of Victoria station. Actually this was ‘cigarettes’ as I remember chain-smoking 7 or 8 in a row to finish a pack. I worked in the area at the time and had just discovered a Pharmacy, tiny and wedged in between two embassies in the Belgravia area. I’d gone in on the spur of the moment and bought an expensive supply of nicotine patches and gum to obligate myself to give it a serious go. The pharmacist had shaken my hand a lot and beamed at me, eyes glistening, I was probably his best customer that week. Perhaps the new year (and a new start) was somewhere in my thinking, but I’m not sure now.

Although I can take or leave the custom I’m not at all cynical about it, and if a new year is a catalyst for making positive changes then great. A number of people I talk to are wondering about what resolutions they might pick, and it has inspired me too.

The challenge isn’t just making a change but making that change last over time. In other words creating a ‘new groove’ in your life, so very similar to therapy, and, like therapy, this can take effort and commitment. A very non-scientific straw poll of family and friends in the last few days tells me that a lot of people start with a resolution - usually giving up something, cutting down on something, taking up something - and that over time the resolution gives way to older, familiar habits.

So for those planning on a new resolution in 2018 - a new groove - I wanted to make a post with some behavioural science ideas that may help you stick with the resolution until it becomes a habit.

John Norcross, a well-known psychologist, carried out some research on the success of New Year’s resolutions a few years ago. In this study, only 77% of participants maintained their new behaviour for a week (23% dropout rate), and over a two-year window, only 19% were able to maintain their new behaviour (81% dropout rate). Lots of factors were identified as determinants of these results, but the important determinants noted were a ‘lack of sufficient willpower’ and a ‘failure of stimulus control’ resulting in a lapse. Those most successful were able to maintain high motivation for the change (willpower), control their environment more effectively (stimulus control) and positively reinforce new behaviour. Of the 19% successful after two years, over half did experience a slip-up along the way - a temporary relapse often accompanied by excessive stress or negative emotions.

Change is pretty tough then. So how do you give yourself an even better chance of succeeding? There are two parts - firstly ‘shaping’ the new habit you would like, then secondly reinforcing it as part of your life and your future.

Shaping a new habit

A lot of us have resolutions that are to do with amending an old habit or creating a new one. For example: eating less in the evenings, getting to the gym twice a week and not just once, starting going out for a jog, giving up smoking, meditating more, watching less TV in the evening etc. You can think of your current habits as ‘automatic, conditioned responses’ (and we all have these), and here are three steps that can help to recondition a better habit.

1. Be specific: A resolution to “get fit” is too broad. Make sure all plans are specific, broken into small steps and achievable. So “I will walk to the station in the morning” and “I will do exercises while watching the TV in the evening” or “I’ll take the stairs and not the escalator” are specific and realistic.

2. Hook into existing habits: If you can attach a new behaviour to an existing habit this can help. If, for example, you already drive to the gym once a week then “I will run to the gym and back home again afterwards” becomes a specific plan. Your existing habit is a great ‘cue’ for the new behaviour. If you have a habit of opening a bottle of wine when coming in from work, hook into the existing cue and make a healthy smoothie instead on a couple of nights a week.

3. Make it easy: As I wrote earlier, maintaining new behaviour can be tough. Make your new behaviours challenging but easy enough to be achievable, especially early on. You will need to create a new habit by carrying out your desired behaviour, in response to the cue, a good number of times before it becomes a habit. The good news is this begins to happen quickly, even within 3-7 times of repeating behaviours. Write yourself notes, if it helps, to remind yourself to commit. Prepare early - if you need ingredients or materials to carry out your plans, or so you are ready for tough situations including things you would like to avoid. This is an important part of making sure you succeed, linked to the ‘stimulus control’ I mentioned above.

Keep things specific. Keep them small. Hook into existing habits to supercharge new behaviour and make things easy enough to lay the foundation for successful change. Reward new behaviours, especially if these involve abstinence of some kind (e.g if you save money through abstinence, put it towards something you’d like). Even after a week, your habit will begin to establish itself and you may decide to stretch yourself further if it feels right.

Reinforcing your new habit

The second part of change involves reinforcing the changes we make in our lives. This is how we keep willpower high, the motivation for change high, and the sense of purpose clear.

Quite often the topic of making changes comes up in sessions, and I may say something like: “change is helped by being clear about what you want to move away from, or what you want to move towards - and why you want to do that”. What I mean here is that change is easier if we have a clear sense of direction and a story to tell ourselves about either what we would like, or what we would like to avoid. So we need to update our own personal ‘inner narrative’. Again, this is often a really crucial part of therapy too.

We each have an inner-narrative of who we are - the type of person we are, our strengths and weaknesses, our determination and our desires. Maybe, for example, we feel we are the ‘type of person’ who handles confrontation badly, is lazy in the evenings, or who makes poor choices with food... We often have many stories about ourselves running simultaneously and unfolding as we go about each day. These have a powerful influence on how we think, feel and react. This usually happens in an automated way and outside of full awareness. It’s important we bring our awareness to this, to harness the power of our own story and upgrade it to make room for who we’d like to be from now on.

See if you can work out which of these stories is operating in your own life around the topics or times you’d like to make changes. What story, say, are you telling yourself to keep yourself from getting out for a walk this evening? Or looking for a new job? What story could you tell yourself instead and then take action? You could try the following simple steps and edit this story yourself.

1. Write out your existing story. Take note of anything that may make your goal harder. For example, if your goal was to eat more healthily in the evening your ‘existing story’ might focus on the fact that work is demanding and so stressful that you often come feeling burned out and lacking in energy, and sitting down and picking at foods is all you feel like at these times (and include how you feel during and after snacking - including negative emotions you are left with). Then...

2. Write out your new story. Focus here on what you will do instead and your new way of being. Focus on how you will feel before, during and after carrying out your new behaviour (usually this will be positive at the end) and the type of person you will become (e.g someone who handles stress in an entirely new way etc). Be specific: “When I come in from work I will first do... and I will be feeling... as I do it. After I’ve done this I will feel.... I will handle stress in new ways including.... I will be the type of person who...”

This is a simple activity, it’ll take twenty minutes, but the effects can be powerful.

So the new resolution is broken into specific and achievable steps, which we will turn into a habit by making sure our ‘cues’ for the new behaviour are supported. We’ll upgrade the way we think about ourselves and our behaviour by bringing awareness to our inner-narrative and ensuring we have a clear, positive story of where we would like to be in the future, and the type of person we will ‘become’ this year.

Best of luck with your resolutions if you make them. I have a plan to improve my cooking skills a lot in 2018 - this will be easy as I am rubbish. I do feel pretty motivated to improve - so maybe I’ll go for this one. While typing all this I think I now have an idea for about ten resolutions so I may have to have the worlds smallest tombola and see which one wins.

Q&A #85

Got a truly large embarrassment of riches in terms of number of reports. Thanks for all of them and I’m working on a hotfix now which is also going to including enough extra content that it probably counts as a mini-update in its own right.

Now for the questions that need a more specific answer than ‘thanks for letting me know, and I’ll get right on that’.

ultrastrangefoxcollection: Many moons ago, I was the guy who reported that slavers being brought up from slaver training weren't being counted properly, and the game was telling me that I have to keep a whole bunch of slavers in camp. That seems to be happening again, although the count on the toolbar for slaves/slavers is correct. At the moment, I've got 14 slavers (10 former slaves, 4 never trained) and 8 slaves, and it's making me keep 5 slavers at home.

Will take another look at this. If anyone ever sees the bottom status bar reflecting the incorrect numbers and you can see what caused it specifically then I’d definitely appreciate reports on that.

Anonymous: Has Biomancy been reworked recently? I distinctly recall being able to muck about with PC proportions from the get-go (provided you took the ability ofc). In the present version (v803) self-biomancy attempts return an invalid selection error - something about "you should be more intelligent and not do highly dangerous things in the wilderness." Not certain if this is intended. Perhaps I'm just blind and didn't read the more recent changelogs.

That’s never been a thing to my knowledge or at least it wasn’t intentionally. Don’t remember anyone mentioning being able to do that before so no idea how you were able to do that.

You can however get a slaver with biomancy to use it on you now as of the last couple of version, though if they don’t really respect you they might not have your best interests in mind.

To also answer a related question while I’m on the topic:

Self-biomancy has always been planned to be held back for a specific assignment chain that would also unlock the nearly impossible options.

Anonymous: Just wanted to say that the new submissive flavor text is faaantastic. Unrelated question: I've been allowing my slaves to escape on purpose so that I can send my slavers out to recapture them and break their will. Do slaves stop trying to escape once they get recaptured, or does submissiveness just make it less likely for them to try?

That’s awesome. If you’ve got any particularly favourite bits then I’d love to hear about them.

Ahah a catch and release programme. There’s a bunch of factors including other traits and level of bondage, but submissive does make them less likely to run, and obedient ones won’t ever try to leave.

Anonymous: Found a bug - crit successes on "Whores for the Whore Makers" will not sell the slave. You get the payout, xp, rep gain, etc, but the slave is not removed. Instead, RAGS prints "Slave" and a number - which I assume is the object's position in its storage array - on a new line. Also, as an aside, is there a maximum number of aspects a PC or NPC can have? Wondering if I made a bad call picking up a random aspect on levelup for a caster. Or if my PC can get aspects at all.

The max number for the PC and NPC was changed from 3 to 5 aspects in the last update.

itsbbbooobbb-blog: the quick as you like solo quest seems to ignore leaving plans for your slavers

as a side note, I remember a long time ago you mentioned the idea of making clumsy affect biomancy/corruption...did that get added?

That one is intentional. It’s mainly for reasons of gameplay flow and immersion, but I guess you can look at it as your slavers deciding that if you go on that race then all previous plans can be ignored as you’re hardly going to be able to complain when you get back.

On checking I did do that for corruption... and completely forgot about biomancy. Added that now for the hotfix and thanks for the reminder.

Anonymous: I'm sure you get lots of questions about races, but I've been wondering why we can't play as a lizardman yet? Particularly since we can already have one as a unique second-in-command. Is it just a lot easier to make them an npc instead of a playable character? Or do you have plans to make them playable at some point? Thanks for all your work by the way, I've played this game way more then I expected to.

Just haven't got round to it yet really. I think one time with the commission polls I had the choice for a Lizardman piece that would have also been used as a playable start though I’ve not including that choice recently. Saying that soon I want to have every race* to have a playable start to account for losing your encampment to your second-in-command.

(*Not including races with an alien mindset in Wisps and Legion, and races not predisposed to taking command like Driders and Zharr Dwarves.)

It’s only a common relatively straightforward assignment. For (Exc) especially you’re looking at a rare one’s reward level and a much higher risk.

Anonymous: What exactly are the triggers for losing the Innocent trait?

Penetrative sex and any training above basic obedience if I remember right.

joyfullyunadulteratedruins: Did something change with the end of the day drinking check? I've gotten so many hungover slavers there's got to be something going on. And this is without Bond With Your Slavers enabled. I suppose I may just have so many supplies and they're so happy they can't help themselves, but it's pretty annoying.

Are you playing on Hardcore? I did make those end of day activities to counteract morale loss more intense on that difficulty awhile back.
