summary; when you, a waitress at the local coffee shop, are paired up with the new recruit scaramouche, you’re pretty sure both of you are going to get fired within a week. he’s just quit being a social media influencer and after being forced to work here to make ends meet, he’s ready to let everyone there know how much he hates it. the worst part? you can’t shake the feeling that you know him from somewhere. but as he slowly warms up to you, scaramouche realises that having a fresh start isn’t that bad after all, and perhaps the two of you meeting like this was pure serendipity.

(me who says that almost every chapter) anyways! so as it turns out, i found out that someone nominated serendipity in a scara smau oscars organised by @bark-anon ?!?! and i was like OMG 🥺 bc there are so many talented authors and amazing series, i'm genuinely honoured that someone thought serendipity belongs up there :') then i realised that i haven't updated this in Years so here's a new chapter!!! hopefully now i can consistently post and finally finish this series istg 😭 /lh anyways, thank you so much for nominating me, and i hope you enjoy this update! <3 also for further context + details abt what scara & yn are talking abt in this chapter, you should totally read cynosure 👀 (horrible self-promo LMAO)

because i want to be prepared for all submissions coming my way, everybody will have two to three weeks to nominate as many smaus as they can! this can be through anon or your actual account. all you have to do is send in your nomination through inbox like this:

there are a few rules to everything, as is this, however. i'll make it quick!

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ALL NOMINATIONS MUST BE SENT THROUGH INBOX.

this gives me the chance to read over the smaus and do something special for every single one!

2. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ALL NOMINATIONS WITH MULTIPLE PEOPLE NOMINATING IT (AT LEAST 3-5) WILL BE PUT IN BIGGER CATEGORIES THAN THE REST.

this isn't really a rule, moreso a reminder that the more nominations the better chance bigger writers will be put in separate categories. that gives smaller writers in the genshin smau community the chance to flourish!

3. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀THIS AWARDS SHOW WILL TAKE NO MORE THAN 70 SMAUS.

unfortunately, i am only one person (smh). i can only read so many to get a sense of what each one is like, but luckily for this reason, judging based on these categories will be easier!

4. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀NOMINATED SMAU MUST HAVE AT LEAST FIVE CHAPTERS.

ongoing and completed smaus are okay, so long as they have enough material. this gives me the opportunity to scope out what the story is about so i can give a proper description.

5.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀IF ANY REASON OCCURS THAT A CERTAIN AUTHOR WANTS THEIR SMAU DROPPED FROM THE AWARDS, IT WILL BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY.

because we don't want people being uncomfortable.

6.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ANONYMOUS VOTES DURING THE VOTING PROCESS WILL NOT BE ACCOUNTED FOR.
