C.2 Which game had the worst plotline?

Ok so saying Yakuza 6 has the worst plotline doesnt mean i hate the game, just wanted way more from it for it to be the last game focused on kiryu. I have my own gripe with Yakuza 5 because it felt all over the place before it came together but yakuza 6 to me felt like the biggest let down considering plot line overall just because so much felt missing from it.

C.4 Which character would you like to see as a protagonist?

Not sure if you mean playable protagonist or someone not really a main character so I’ll answer both ways lol why not

Playable protagonist I want Haruka again, because theres so much more they can do with her interactions etc can you imagine her fighting? learning from miss tatsu?? lol but more so more activities available to her

As a protagonist I want to see a story with Minami or Nishida or both heavily involved as main people in the story, I think sega has the potential to do that with them but i mean they failed a lot of other potentials loool Minami they spent time giving him such a cool design for only him to appear briefly in the whole series. Nishida has appeared so much more but I agree with others that he is the most puzzling how he got involved in the majima family AND hes a lieuntenant??? (btw looking at his model form Y2/Y5 he looked way cooler and sad in Y2 Kiwami i like that)

I hear a lot about rgg online but idk if its translated or.....

C.6 If you could revive any deceased character, who would it be and why?

Now we can say yeah Nishiki should be alive but idk thats a can of worms. Who should be alive is the someone from Y7 but I know you haven’t played it yet so we can discuss that when you have! ├┬┴┬|•⊖•)├┬┴┬|

C.8 What was the worst plot twist?

I think its been too long for me to remember how I felt when plot twists were revealed because now I only remember every reveal was like a plot twist in these games lool

I remember I didn’t like the reveal of Masato Aizawa and who he really is but reading up again about it i think its just the way sega executed it I didn’t like. On the wiki it sounds epic, my memory? not so much but again its been a while

C.9 What was the most emotional scene in the series?

I was very traumatised when they revealed how Majima’s eye was taken out, the way they animated it and the slow panning out as it happened was intense. I don’t think its the most emotional scene as there are many but its one i kept watching. My answer may change everytime I play a game again. Also a scene from Y7 comes to mind too.

C.10 Which game do you think should get a remake?

A proper remake, like Kiwami style, Yakuza 4 should be remade. Its such an epic game. The remaster is fine i guess i still need to play it but a remake like how they did Y1/Y2 is needed and i choose Yakuza 4.

C.11 Which character has the best taste in clothing? Who has the worst?

If you think about it, they all have pretty bad taste but majima does it pretty well to keep it consistent with his snake theme. The one who has the worst is uhh,, they all wear the same outfit most of the time id say that side quest guy who wears only underwear constantly in Yakuza 0 whats his name, if you compare all the characters to him then hes the worst

Idk if all the Yakuza games have dubbing but I always prefer the original voices for any media tbh (still remember my bro playing y1 in english it was hilarious)

So, Shin Oguri who plays Someya i like his voice. Idk if its because i loved the drama Hana Kimi so its a familiar voice but its niiceeee hella nice, love it. When Majima’s VA speaks in a lower tone, love it *chefs kiss*. Love Kaoru’s VA too felt strong but sweet. Makoto’s VA god she knows how to make me cry.

Haruka. She didn’t ask for any of this. I mean listen none of them really did (young age, environment, upbringings) but even everyone is like protect the kid (or use her because she could’t fight back at the time) and she really was forcibly brought into this. Was it in Yakuza 5 when that goon said to her that she isn’t fazed from their intimidation because she’s used to it?

Soooo Army of the Dead

Not gonna even put a spoiler warning cause shit I’m just venting 8B. Sat for 2 hours for that movie? So yeah spoilers but the movie ticked me off so much I’m not giving it the respect of a warning.

Now I know reviews are a mix some repel and some attract. So just gonna say it doesn’t matter to me if someone loves this movie or not. I originally wasn’t gonna even bother cause I’ll be honest Syner isn’t my favorite. I think people give the dude too much hype. I gave it a chance cause I loveee  Dave Bautista, loved him in Stuber. So I thought “heh give it a shot”. And thats not to say the movie’s total waste of space. It had some decent effects and some good characters.... ...................

Kinda too bad they all died save for one and its the one I was sick to death of. Besides the long movie, which I admit being long can put me off. But even some I give a chance like Mitchells vs the Machines. Longggg paced movie but the story and characters made up for it. Did Army of the Dead make up for it? No it didn’t.

Zombies... heh I’m an old timer I don’t like things that break Romero’s old rules of zombies or even Kirkmans (no not counting some of the shows World Beyond & Fear were not best examples). But side tracking, point is no don’t like zombie babies or zombies reproducing I see what you did there Synder 8B. Didn’t like it in the Dawn remake never like zombie baby anything. Zombie animals and babies always feel like they cross the line for me. Zombies in general felt like Synder kinda took a bit off several other movies. I would say the zombie baby was his first thing butttt it really wasn’t that would be Braindead/Dead Alive which I let slide cause that was more of a comedy 8B. The suppose plot kinda reminded me of Peninsula/Train To Busan world ... wanna know the difference the characters were a lot smarter than half these characters. And the secondary plot/or theme about the people outside of Vegas.... felt a little too obvious ref to the Border issues. Look I’m good with commentary in horror lots have done it but Synder felt as obvious when you watch a Purge movie.

I mean come on Synder we get it the Border issues suck and everyone can see that not so subtle allusion. But story wise feel that somewhat unrealisitic. I mean I can see our government do that to a point but once one of them dies and they don’t come back I’d take that as a sign of “Oh its not infection”. Send them out or have health agents or whatever watch them 8B. But then again... sorta surprise no zombie ever tried to go out the door that Lily left WIDE open. So okay.

But I could have let allll of that go if the writers/producers/director(not sure who’s in charge of what so bare with me) they had let  Bautista and some of the actual LIKEABLE characters live. And no as much as I loved  Vanderohe and I did V-V. Like Bautista one of the best characters.... the predictable ending of “oh we let a carrier get out”... just means he’s a zombie soooo still lose/lose.

What did we get for a survivor Bautista’s character ungrateful daughter Kate (Ella Purnell’s character). Thats what we got for a final girl. And before some goes “oh but she’s this/and that” look she still annoyed me. And this is no disrespect to the actress Purnell, I don’t know her work enough to go “oh its the actor’s fault”. No it just really was the character. I liked every character of Ward’s (Dave Bautista’s character) team. Everyone BUT Kate.  Because she was I’m sorry to put her in this category but this is what she felt like a Karen. So maybe a reverse of whatever a Karen is but still annoying.

She’s super pissed about her dad killing her zombie mom(she could say she wasn’t but I didn’t believe her character). Scott Ward’s character was everything you’d LOVE in a hero. He fought to stop zombies, tried his best to save those in the infected city and was clearly suffering from PTSD. He took his daughter on a dangerous mission because she was looking for a stupid friend and yes again know the ref. And also know the “oh poor thing she’s scared”.... but sorry screw that those are zombies not people with the flu:P. Her stupid friend went into a literal hornet’s nest. So yeah Ward risks his life, his team’s lives (and which to a degree I do blame her for costing some of their lives) to help her and her stupid friend and how does she treat him through almost the enterity of the movie? Like literal shit. She won’t even call him dad. 

And whats her excuse she’s mad he didn’t call. Which I’m not entirely buying, this is all through her POV and her view to me is she’s literally a moron who gets mad things don’t go her way. I was honestly pissed that no zombie noticed her during her crazy attempt to save her stupid friend. The man is trying hard to make amends and her own words “can’t stop hating you, Scott”. I’m like “Oh whoaaaa great tell him that while’s he protecting your ungrateful ass in that zombie setting”. 

So yeah seeing her live and that ending, I’m sorry Kate didn’t earn the final girl title. There were a lot of good characters a lot BETTER than her, Tig Notaro’s character was more fun to watch than her and she died.... but Kate lives. Just if you like the evolved zombies than thats your movie. But if you hate hearing a character whine so much... then I’d strongly recommend avoiding it.  Lord knows I’m avoiding the prequel anime show. Its not Dave Bautista, its literally Purnell’s character Kate. I suppose its to be “oh this is why Kate hates her dad he’s SUCH a monster”. But nopeeee I hate sitting through 2 hours of Kate complaining I wouldn’t want to sit through 6 eps of Kate’s drama/whinning.

Synder’s army isn’t my fave. Would rather rewatch Bruce Campbell in Army of Darkness.

HELLO, welcome to the summary of augustevens 2020. a challenge inspired by my previous challenges (hammoween & jonnuary) and me blazing thru legion season 2 and 3 in a span of over five days. it was quite an adventure to say the least and i’m here to present some statistics and recommendations.

TOP AUGUSTEVENS MOVIE (that’s not a rewatch): this is so stupid but i legit have to say Vamps (2012). maybe i liked it so much because it came after a very long combo of shitty movies but to me it was genuinely funny and delightful comedy abt being a vampire in the glorious era of early 10s… the casting in it was perfect, the plot was so charming and while there is stuff i would have left in the cutting room, i just. really enjoyed myself. vamps (2012) stan for life. 

ASSHOLE OR DELIGHTFUL FOP?

TOP ASSHOLE ROLE: “david” from the guest (2014), no competition. honorable mentions go to stinkman garbageboy from apostle (2018) and the guy from the ticket (2016) because it was a very demanding role and he SOLD it (but i dont recommend the movie its shot very blandly).

TOP FOP ROLE: you already know who it is……. prince adam from the 2017 liveaction remake of beauty and the beast (2017) but only from the first five minutes of this movie !!!!! he raised millions for the fop community and gendered me quite fiercely so we love him for that. a VERY VERY VERY and i cannot overstate how VERY close second is alexander lemtov from that cursed eurovision movie (2020). slav gay rights !!!

Ghost in the Shell (2017) review

I came into this movie with an open mind. Despite every fibre of my fanboy teenage ghost rejecting this alien reincarnation. I even set aside the whitewashing criticisms to just see if the movie can achieve something significant in spite of it.

Within roughly 5 minutes, this movie assured me I was going to be treated like a lobotomised baby. I shit you not, within seconds of a beautifully rendered manufacture sequence we watch two introduced characters in a room blatantly tell us what "ghost in the shell" means in the most uninspired way imaginable.

I wish I could tell you that this was just me getting off on the wrong foot but throughout, the movie is so uncertain in how to portray the themes, symbolisms and spiritual/ religious references that make up the brain in GitS' cyberpunk action body. The script just glitches between lame exposition by talking heads and still reflection in its precise composition but the two hardly work together.

It's like the film can't find its centre and as a result is neither a compelling action sci-fi or a meditative exploration of its philosophies. If this were Aaronofsky/ Gilliam or Bay/ Snyder perhaps (for better or worse) at least this movie would have a distinct direction to go in but instead it sits in the middle and suffers at both.

Hell, I'm sure many fans would be happy if this just took the Dredd approach. If they just accepted that the fans know the backstory and the non fans don't need it and made this simply about the Section 9 anti cyber crimes team doing their job, kicking ass n taking names, it would at least have a better chance of success amongst its primary demographic.

Instead Hollywood thinks big and wants to initiate a new franchise, origin story and all, n crams so much bullshit to try and get new audiences into it that Section 9 itself gets pushed way back in the corner. Audiences spend more time getting to know the Majors mum/s than they do with any her team.

They ditch the cerebral plot of the '95 anime whereby Major Motoko Kusanagi working within Section 9 are tracking a hacker who turns out not only to be an AI secretly created by the government to assassinate political targets but has become sentient, claims asylum and ends up merging consciousness with Major Kusanagi by the end.

Here we get Major Motoko Kusanagi of Section 9, pissed that many innocent people were murdered in experiments to create her and super shitty that her entire identity was a lie and she's actually a bratty anti establishment punk.

After all is said and done, what we get is Robocop-Lite (and thats the reboot mind you). All the nuance, intrigue and head scratching ideology that we got in the shorter length '95 anime is reduced here to identity theft and yet another unremarkable corporate business villain to cover it up. We've seen this shit SO often. I'm beginning to think Hollywood just doesn't know how to do it any other way. They weren't all bad mind you, Robocop, Total Recall, The Matrix, these are all great films but GitS in its initial reception really broke the mould and here to see it put back in the cage of "been here, done that" is so incredibly disappointing.

As far as anime/manga Hollywood adaptations are concerned, the bar is INCREDIBLY low. I'd argue the only good one amongst them is Edge of Tomorrow/ Live Die Repeat. Aside from that, every otaku since the 90's is used to being made fun of in the result of America trying to morph them into something that works amongst their style of cinema. Japan has made some great adaptations partly because they don't feel the need to repackage the story.

This GitS remake tries desperately to be on the fans side by copying much of the '95 movies look (with varying degrees of success, some scenes are very accurate in their reproduction but the hair in this film is more reminiscent of X-men (2000) and seems cosplay-ish at times).

There are few scenes lifted from the original but most get twisted to accommodate the new storyline, at which point I ask why bother? Half measures don't tend to turn many heads and whilst paying homage by really making the effort to be exact duplications in some ways is applaudable, you're giving yourself less room to do your version of it. At least then, whether the film turns out to be shit or not, I'll respect that you tried to do your own thing.

ok, casting. this argument has already been done to death and I've just about run outta energy already on the whole Scarlett Johanson thing but a few things that never seem to come up: first of all, acting wise, I gotta say it's all much of a fucking muchness isn't it? Kusanagi does not outwardly express much so its mostly a headgame for an actress with the chance to throw in some subtleties in the voice acting.

I don't really like Scarlet Johansson's performances but that its preposterous for anyone to come to the conclusion that her resume would land her this gig is a bit of a stretch. Do people realise how rare it is to find an A-list celebrity that has an extensive list of both highly demanding physical action blockbusters and subtle minimalist detail performances? Of course they are going to cast her. Before anyone throws ME personally into somehow being against ethnic minorities in blockbuster films (which would be absurd for anyone who knows me) '95 GitS director Mamoru Oshii also gave his stamp of approval.

They really tried with the marketing to dodge the bullet by just not bringing it up but it's really not dealt with well in the film and leads to some pretty fucking awkward moments for a racial debate charged audience to watch.

I would have preferred the role to go to a Japanese actress but remember, this is Hollywood and if a studio is gonna push bringing THIS film out, you bet your bottom dollar that they're going with someone that is a household name in America.

The only internationally known Japanese name out there right now is Rinko Kikuchi (who to date has 2 American films out there, both not big successes). I love most of her films and there ARE a few other Japanese actresses I would love to see in the role but Hollywood studios are not gonna bank on the success of Japanese films. Hell, the fact that they put Takeshi Kitano in bit part in this movie is as far as they are willing go to get in on that market. Few seem to point at his casting as some kind of justification and I laugh quite hard. Seriously, you're gonna give this guy (who's acted AND directed in over 20 brilliant films) a few minutes of screen time and applaud that as some kind of cultural milestone?

Which brings me to the big casting shame that NO ONE is fucking talking about because they're so caught up with the Johansson shit. Aside from Kusanagi, there are 6 Japanese members of the Section 9 taskforce. How many are Japanese? Kitano, yes. Who else? Saito. Did you remember him? He's the guy that snipes the helicopter at the very end of the film. You see his face for like 10 seconds. Pretty big step in casting mulitculturally, right? Don't get me wrong, the cast IS incredibly multicultural. We got actors from all over the world pretending to be Japanese:

A Danish guy as Batou A Chinese guy as Togusa An Australian as Ishikawa A Zimbabwean as Borma

Why keep the names?! Just call them whatever, it doesn't matter. You don't give them anything important to do anyway. Have a mulit-ethnic team but when they're all speaking clearly in their national accents and supposed to be portraying Japanese characters, THAT'S what should really piss people off because THESE roles could have gone out to Japanese people and it would not have even been a risk for the studio.

Ultimately, the one real positive thing I have to say is a great job for the WETA production team on some fantastic animatronics and moulds...that's pretty much it. Shame it couldn't be in a better film.

Power rangers 2017 review

so the other day me and my friend watched the 2017 movie. I’m just gonna let this out right now I do not like it so if your just gonna read this to get mad I won’t waste your time. 

so I’ll start with the plot. it starts with Zordon and Rita fighting on earth which is stupid because what would you rather watch and epic space war with a moon witch conquering many planet or a scene on an earth so grey and drab it makes the post apocalypse cry. well Zordon tells Rita shes a shit power ranger and she kills him and goes into the ocean or something. we flash forward. 10,000 year ooo big surprise. And we go right to suggested  cow molestation! what an opener!  then Billy from stranger things gets hit by a car and should probably be dead and he just gets detention despite he later seen with an ankle monitor you don’t get those for braking into a school with a cow you get them for being on probation with the law and if hes on probation with the law THEY WOULDN’T LET HIM IN SCHOOL! Here where we go into what I call movie number 1 the breakfast club remake that was to short. we meet Other Billy and he gets beat up by who me and my friend like to call Canadian Ed Sheeran name Corn Wallace or just Bully even though there were bullies in MMPR named Bulk and Skull couldn’t even be Corn Bulkmire. then we meet my least favorite character Trimberly and just send nude pictures of a teenager without concent like a sexual predator maybe she should have the ankle monitor... Then she pulls sissors out of a wall that another girl shoved into the wall but how fucking strong are these damn teens then she used to give herself the most wild can I speak to the manger bob cut. After school Billy from Stranger things goes to Other Billy house and his mom kinda wild but still more personality then any other character. so Other Billy teaches up how to disabled an ankle monitor. Thanks Other Billy! Then they go to the one location close to actual power rangers ABANDON QUARRY! there we meet Kini and Zack their introductions aren’t to dramatic. So we switch over to Billy from stranger things watching Trimberly trying to kill herself but diving into dirty quarry water hoping either the water isn’t deep enough or the leeches would get her. Sadly doesn’t work. Then Other Billy blows up a mountain with probably illegal dynaminte. apparently everyone has a criminal record. In the mountain they find some geodes pretending to be Power coin. Then like the amazing role models are they run from the police in their wood panel 2016 model mini van.But remember kids if you out run police you go to hell before you die and get hit by a train. Then we switch over to the REAL power rangers hanging out with the family at the juice bar while the new shows a report of the others dying... I WISH! okay so they wake up and find out they have powers? Uh when did the power rangers ever have actual powers in MMPR I mean before they got the ninja powers in the later season but Ninjor wasn’t in this movie. Then Ed Sheeran tries to brake Other Billys hand and the way he tries to brake it makes me assume he also has powers and they go to  Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters so the rangers aint special. They go back to the mountains and all try to kill themselves jumping off a cliff and call into MORE QUARRY WATER!!! Then swim and find a.. A space ship??? where did this come from and in it we meet Micky from Bobs burgers pretending to be a robot alien and Hal from Malcolm in the middle with his head in a pin toy. Zordon shows them a weird sexual vision don’t worry this isn’t the last one. I think at this point they pull Rita out of the ocean and put her dead body on a pile of fish they expect people to eat. and Alpha brings them TO THE PIT! They train Rita pretend to be in Lord of the rings Generic pop music plays. Then Rita Kid naps them and kills other billy not to upset bout that and instead of maybe tellin his mother while playing genric sad music they throw him in the quarry and find a new Billy. Just kidding they go to the space ship an bring him back to life meaning this movie officially has no stakes. THHEN FINALLY THEY MORPH! And they all look like Master Chief from Halo. The MMPR movie version of the theme plays for 5 seconds their zords like shit then they fight putties that look like literal shit a fight happens.Then you think they send her to the moon setting up a squeal... nope she dies in space?? DESPITE BEING FROM SPACE!!! then the movie ends when the Megazord sexy dances and I kill my self by jumping into a dirty Quarry.Also they okay I got the power at the end just like MMPR the movie does it was very weird.

Okay now to talk about my least favorite part the characters. HAHAHAHAHA THEY HAVE NO CHARACTER! These are the most bland unoriginal uninspiring characters I ever seen in a movie they have so little personality Dr.K as a computer screen puts them to shame. Jason just the main guy character Trini and Kimberly are so interchangable I though they were played by the same actress Billy is okay hes fine I don’t really want to be offensive but did antone kinda catch after getting super powers he wasn’t autistic anymore. Zack probably the only character I like because hes the only one with character but I kinda wonder being hes Chinese and his mom only speaks Chinese why does she call him zack. 

Rita okay shes kinda the only reason to watch the ,movie she chews the scenery so much so eats it at some points

Alpha 5 and Zordon arent even worth meantioning their okay maybe Alpha could been less like a drug uncle but whatever. 

I’m not a big super hero fan and this movie kinda shows everything I hate about the heros journey plot its so generic and bland they couldn’t even Try making it even resemble the show maybe if these were oringal characters I’d be fine with it but their not its trying to make character who were built 24 years ago at the time into all new one but made them worse. maybe when hasbro makes the new one it’ll not be about MMPR or at least be more like the show or even the comics honest  I’d watch a shatter grid movie. Thats all I can really say can’t wait for the hate comments.Bye - Dr.K

but like....tl;dr.....that was easily the best show i’ve ever watched, and one of the best narrative’s i’ve ever had the pleasure of witnessing

the animation in general, ESPECIALLY the scenery was rly nice

god the theme like not the theme SONG (though that will get its own bullet point)but like??the theme of the show??? the mystery feel mixed with modern stuff, and still being REALLY DARK AND HAVING GENUINE HORROR whilst still managing to be a kids show is wild 

like!!! they didnt pull any punches!!! they didnt treat kids like dumbasses that would get the show!! it complex and intelligent and engaging!!!! 

ok so the THEME SONG ok GOD I LOVED IT BUT....turns out bc me and jester were using dailymotion well.....uhhh 90% of the gravity falls eps on there are sped up?? My house mate and I have been watching scary movies leading up to Halloween. So far we've seen The Shining, I Know What You Did Last Summer Carrie and now we just finished Insidious. Insidious was terrifying as was Carrie, especially the part at the very end. Why do you think you enjoy scary movies so much?

theres many answers to this question i dont even know where to start.

i guess going back to when i was little, i was always into spooky shit. i always loved halloween. i would sit for HOURS and watch every single haunting show on the travel channel or anything about cryptids. i was always tried to be scared (but then turning into a bitch when shit got TOO real. like my grandpa used to torment me with his “chucky” voice cuz he knew that goddamn doll scared the shit out of me and my stepbrother went as ghostface for one halloween and that fucking costume was in our closet and i was like... im gonna be murdered. that costume is coming to life and murdering me. mind you, i hadnt even seen scream at that point the costume just scared the absolute fuck out of me. no ones scared of that costume now but like... being a child in the mid-late 90s that shit was horrifying please believe). so anyway theres that element

another thing that i think played a huge part in my love and fascination for the genre was i grew up in like a true crime house lmao my grandma was constantly watching CNN and i grew up hearing about like jon benet and columbine and the menendez brothers and then into the 00s you had like scott peterson. and i just was always so intrigued by the psychology of killers and what led people to commit these acts. and of course i ended up learning about bundy and dahmer and ramirez and gein... and you have these movies that sometimes explore a deeper level of whats going on. sometimes they dont and its just mindless killing. but both were fascinating to me. anything that gets into humanity’s dark side intrigues me. humans are capable of some fucked up shit that no one really likes to acknowledge but you can explore that in horror. like i was really into torture porn for a while until i found my limit lmao but i was always like “i need it to be MORE fucked up!” and then you get shit like the human centipede or a serbian film and youre like you know what? im good 😂 

but even outside of torture porn im just in general always on the hunt for the next good scare. i want to be genuinely terrified when i watch a movie. i want that lingering dread long after its over and its so hard to come by these days. like the first paranormal activity? royally fucked me up and im still to this day feeling its effects. when i tell you i could not sleep the night i saw it.... and for 2 days after i had to keep my lights on.... i want that feeling again

and then theres the artistic standpoint. i used to sit and watch dvd extras of how all the gore effects were made and how sets were put together and that shit still is so fun to me. lowkey theres still a part of me that wants to get into that profession but i have... no talent at all. like you really gotta admire the shit that goes into practical effects. its breathtaking. its literally a bunch of magic tricks i have so much respect for the people that do it tom savini is my hero

horror also brings the family together lol my mom loves them. i remember going to blockbuster with her and always picking out horror movies to watch. we marathoned all the halloween and friday the 13th movies together. we just went and saw the new halloween together. my grandpa used to take me to horror movies when i was younger (i have a fond memory of seeing the hitcher remake and the part where the dude gets snapped in half i CACKLED in the theater and my grandpa was right next to me making an exaggerated noise of disgust like he always does cuz he’s dramatic and likes to play shit up lol wonder where i get it from) he used to tell me i reminded him of drew barrymore in firestarter so... thanks for that grandpa still havent seen that movie but i’ll take it as a compliment. even now with fearfest on amc my grandpas always yelling at me about whats on tv so i can watch. one of my uncles is a slasher fan. one of my cousins who recently passed was a HUGE horror fan. feel like it was kind of inevitable for me to end up here lol

at the end of the day horror is just fun. but i think its also important to note that a lot of people have a misconception about horror. like i still today see people talk about how horror has no meaning and its only with recent films where the genre is starting to get “deep” and thats just... not true. and you can tell these are statements being made by non horror fans whove seen like maybe 3 movies tops. horror has always been used as a storytelling device to reflect the current fears and problems in society. you can take horror movies from different time periods and get a good sense of what was going on, what people were feeling, what the world was going through. i honestly think its the most important genre. you can explore themes in horror that other genres dont necessarily allow, certainly not to the extent horror does. you get a good mix of your schlockfests but then you also have movies that are trying to reflect something back to us. 

horror gets a bad rap. and people like to act like theyre too good for it. youre not. calm down. just enjoy the ride.

Im making a funny thing in roblox and Im gonna talk about it here because I think if I don’t my head’ll explode! its still a work in progress but its getting there.

heres a picture of the spawn, you spawn right by the bus stop (the green thing which I gotta remake the model for sometime), next to the parking lot and across from the hotel.

On the same side of the street you spawn on is the Dark Side Diner! A space themed diner though it doesn’t quite look it yet, I picked Blue & Orange for the main two colors for a few reasons but one of them is just that I think its a nice color combo, the purple is just there for a bit of extra possible variation.

The neon letter models weren’t made by me I just yoinked em off the toolbox and unlike most other toolbox items in here I do not intend to eventually replace em, the stars are mine tho.

The Interior from over the counter looks like this, there’ll be a small kitchen area just behind where the camera is.

every 4 seats per cubby(?) gets its own sitting animation, as showcased by my 4 mes, though if I turn this into an actual publicly playable game I might look into getting a list of sitting animations for the player to use rather then making it depend on what seat they use.

another shot of the main area, the tables and chairs are unfinished right now. the stools are good though. if you’re curious about what those green cobblestone objects are, they’re placeholders for props I haven’t even started on.

at some point I wanna draw a space background out and have it go over some of the walls, the lighting of the inside is also something Im kinda iffy about right now so it might get changed soon. quick funfact tho when I started, this was just gonna be a small basic square coffee shop.

and the current version is still technically v3, if you count the coffee shop. I don’t think I have a save with the og layout of the diner but I do have one with the og exterior.

you can see the scrapped arcade in the background of this one actually, it was what this whole project was based around before I decided it didn’t fit with what the project had become anymore. still plan to include an arcade machine somewhere, maybe I can make some extra room in the diner.

Next up is the hotel I mentioned earlier, kinda unfinished, it has 9 rooms and an office that hasn’t even been started. this is what it currently looks like.

The bed model is one from the toolbox and Im just using it as a placeholder till I decide to actually make my own, same with the dresser which you can’t really tell is a dresser from this angle. The clocks supposed to make ticking sounds but if I just give every rooms clock this ability they end up stacking in some parts of the rooms, roblox does have an inbuilt proximity sound thing but its not the best. Thats supposed to be a CRT TV but it doesn’t look the best so thats another thing I gotta remodel.

theres an extra room by the shelves but idk what to put there yet so they’re empty

behind the hotel is a small area. with a big tree that has its leaves set to not cast shadows, a few barely noticable picnic tables and an unfinished little campfire that Im gonna move probably.

and since I shared the diners history I’ll also share the hotels history, the exterior and interior. this was how it looked before I decided to revamp it.

and heres the forests first landmark, one of three cabins. again, sort of unfinished since my work on this is very scattered.

the interior is mostly finished, with the fireplace and lights being switchable on and off as well working opening doors (both of the which are also applied to the hotel rooms I just forgot to mention that)

and a very small bedroom, the bunkbed is also a placeholder from the toolbox.

I would like to add an attic but Im still working out the kinks of the how the roof is gonna look so that comes later.

the next landmark off on its own sidepath is this shack thats very unfinished as well. based off a memory(or possibly dream that just stuck with me idfk) from ages ago. its nothing too special really, just sorta there.

and the back of it leads to a river caused by a waterfall.

nothing much else to say about this spot yet, its just where the main path leads.

going back to the street, across from the front of darkside diner is this little pit that leads to a sewer grate. I should probably put a light in there.

further down the street is the gas station and its store with a slushy machine and freezer for frozen sweets.

a bit further down and on the other side is another cabin placeholder, once Im finished the first one they’ll also get placed here.

and back on the other side is gonna be a small campsite where Im probably gonna move the campfire to. right now theres just an extremely unfinished RV

and here is a way up to this one cliff spot where Im gonna make an overlook point where the last cabin placeholder is right now (though it won’t stay there tbh). theres gonna be rocks at the edges of and its gonna look more like an actually cliff, theres also gonna be a parking lot here though it’ll be more gravelly then the paved one by the diner and hotels.

finally, the most unfinished thing here I’d say is the foreground (picture has the invisible walls made visible).

I want it to look like you’re in a forest valley but thats far from obvious right now. nothing else to say really. this is it as of now but here are some are notable older versions, from when I started this on January 26th of this year

first of all, we're definitely getting splatoon 2 news

they're releasing this month's new content (starfish remodel, salmon run gear, and presumably new weapons) the next day instead of 8/31 as they’d usually do it, and that can't be a coincidence

smash bros will also probably be in there, maybe at the very end

at least one non-echo newcomer, and one or more echo. characters from newer games like arms and xenoblade 2 are more likely to be dlc than launch since the project plan was made in 2015

so that leaves, idk, skull kid? bandana dee? inkling is so far the only newcomer that didn't exist when ssb4 was being developed so maybe there'll be someone else from a newer game. maybe qbby? or dr. luigi as an echo fighter?

i kind of want qbby to get in mainly because the trailer would be PERFECT since the smash logo at the beginning looks like a boxboy level, that's literally what i first thought they were going for when i saw it in ridley's trailer

since echo fighters don't seem to get their own trailers, any revealed tomorrow would probably be before the trailer, or sneak their way into it (possibly only if they're from the same series tho, like richter)

ANYWAY, the third obvious prediction would be switch online since "the second half of september" starts just 9 days from the direct so they should probably announce the specific date soon, as well as the other nes games coming at launch (there are 22 on the nes classic common to all regions so im assuming it'll mostly be the same as those. 2 nes games announced for switch online arent among those 22 so that means at least 14 of the nes classic games wont be included. im hoping they have earthbound beginnings because tbh thats the only nes game i enjoy playing... although if theyre free maybe i’ll try out some i normally wouldnt play as much)

fuck man, i was gonna draw tonight, you cant just give me an ask that i could write for hours about

idk how long thisll get but just in case, usual read more time but tl;dr very very good series, absolutely recommend to any seasoned weebs out there

I fucking love the monogatari series for so many reasons. i’ll just shit out bullet points of cool shit

1. gigantic but segmented: it’s one of the longest animes i’ve watched, but if someone wanted to just watch some i’d just tellem “hey just watch bakemono and stop there for now” and they’d still watch some great content and be mostly satisfied as everything wraps up well and doesn’t have any kinda sequel bait or cliff hanger. You can watch as much as you want when you want, even down to the various arcs, even out of order if need be, so it’s incredibly convenient, which means a lot to me (i say as i marathon HxH and Ippo)

2. Fuck the Order: there’s about 3 main orders that people like to preech, novel order (the order the arcs were released according to the light novels), anime release order, and chronological order since the story isn’t told chronologically in either case, and that can get confusing on top of none of the arcs being numbered outside of bakemono and bakemono 2 (which almost nobody recommends you actually watch consecutively) BUT the part I love is ANY order works and is interesting in its own way, the order that events are presented to you can change the impact of various scenes and events, like the ending to koimono is a lot more terrifying if you have no clue that kaiki is a healthy happy boy a year later, and owari becomes a bit more confounding if you know ougi is also doing fine (even if a bit boyish), and when you watch kizumono can drastically change how you feel about araragi and shinobu’s relationship, like when they were super duper tense in nise i always felt kinda whatever, but now that i’ve seen kizu its kinda like “fuck man how arent either of you dead already”

Basically its cool as shit since everything is written without regard for order

3.Character Development (and lack there of): All the characters in the series develop pretty well, and sometimes experience multiple large character shifts that improve them from the absolute pieces of garbage they are in bake (lookin at you Hanekawa, though you were pretty alright in kizu) Senjougahara is also worth note as she’s the primary girl and is thus around a lot despite having very few arcs centered on herself

but one of the most powerful parts of all the characters is they all also never change their true worst traits, and those who don’t really are my favorite characters, and those would be Senjougahara, Hachikuji, and the main man himself, Araragi. Senjou never really is able to drop the autistic girl sitting on the fourth wall deep down within her, Hachikuji continues to constantly fill roles and play parts that don’t belong to her, up through the very end of the series where she becomes a fucking GOD for NO good reason but FUCK it i love you hachikuji, and lastly Araragi, one of the best protaganists ever, who matures quite a lot over the course of his life and all, but from the begining of kizu to the end of owari, he is just completely incapable of letting someone pathetic go without help, even if it means completely sacrificing himself and I love my stupid boy so much

4. Who’s the protag anyway?: So araragi is the protag, duh, but not all the time, and the differences in how the show works when it changes is always very interesting, as it reveals a lot about both araragi and the characters who take his role; namely, Hanekawa, Nadeko, and my fucking BOY Kaiki. Hanekawa interacts with the story much closer to a novel (to the point of analyzing chapters and such), Nadeko sees everyone around her as bubbly colorful nobodies, and Kaiki sees everyone as normal fucking people which is only strange and jarring because when Araragi is the protagonist, anyone who is unimportant to him literally does not exist or physically manifest on screen. Some would call it a lazy choice, and maybe it is, this is shaft, it wasnt the first time they did it and it wasn’t the last either (side note; i like mekakucity actors fight me pussy) but even moments full of “background characters” like Araragis freshmen highschool dilemma, everyone in class other than the 2 cute girls he knows are just depicted as names and random photographic images of shit and its very telling of his character despite never being directly said in the novels or script.

FUck man this shit looks good: Art is important shit dude, and monogatari consistently looks good, even if the backgrounds can be incredibly simple at times, they are STYLISH and effective and thats all they need to be, and despite being a show mainly about people talking, the characters will move and be in as many weird cool perspective shots as they need to in order to fill out a scene. Whenever the show ISNT just people talkin, the animation does not slack off. The few fights of the main series are absolutely to my taste, I love Araragi V rainy devil, and thats pretty much the only straight up fight in the show, but the Kizu movies are 3 hours of pure kino holy shit, even araragi buying some porn to beat he meat is animated excessively well and with cartoon abandon. 

I know that stylish substance is still just a shaft thing, but it’s always on point in monogatari, also NO CG CHARACTERS outside of a few random shots in Kizu, which is a definitely worth pointing out considering mekakucity’s original television run exists.

FUck man this shit sounds good: The voice acting is impeccable, I love everyones voice so much, but the music is also of very high quality, and guess what it does that thing that i always fucking mention cus it’s awesome and should be used whenever possible anywhere: Motifing. Every character has a theme in some way due to every major character having atleast 1 opening centered on them (there’s an OP for every fucking arc and its insane they’re all fully animated too its bonkers) and theres usually a couple remixes of each persons theme used at some point, especially as like, bittersweet slow classical songs at the climax of an arc being a remix of the OP for that arc. 

Kizu is also noteworthy for motifing the EDs into the other songs, remaking songs from the anime for specific classic interactions (looking at you, sharp and friend or foe) as well as just being super interesting in its use of vocal accompaniment, like the shoowap-doowap kind of stuff they throw in is very fun.

 7.FUck man this shit IS good: I said early that the show is mostly just people talking, but fuck man i love listening to these people talk to each other. Everything they talk about is super entertaining and full of multiple meanings and just so much to take in that any amount of rewatching will always have me finding more to love, but since its a weeb show with references and puns and stuff, I would recommend making sure you’re atleast a decently powerful weeb who can at least UNDERSTAND some Japanese and knows a bit about anime before getting into it, also make sure you can read decently fast. It’s not Tatami Galaxy levels but stuff can move quick. (bit far into a post like this to make a recommendation but hey)

My Top 10 Least Favorite Films of 2017

I hope everyone has had a good year cinematically and personally. Before I get into this, I just wanted to state something. For this list and my Top 10 Favorite list, this is just my opinion. I imagine some will disagree with me and thats fine. I’ll have a small bit explaining my overall feelings, but most of these movies I have reviews for on the blog, so if you’d like to, go and take a look at them.

There are still some films like The Disaster Artist and The Shape of Water that I haven’t seen yet, but merely due to the fact that the area where I live doesn’t always get the independent style-Oscar films immediately, I haven’t had a chance. But I am looking forward to seeing those.

Also, I may not have the worst of the worst on this particular list because I’m obviously not a professional critic, I don’t get screeners or early screenings of everything. I go to the movies on my own dime, and if I don’t feel like a film is worth seeing, then I don’t. All that being said, I hope you enjoy reading this. Let’s get into it.

While Coco is beautifully designed and animated, I found the plot to be predictable. I could see where things were going just on the basis of seeing so many other animated films in my lifetime. It also didn’t help that my screening had nearly an hour of pre-show between commercials, trailers, and that ridiculously stupid Frozen “short.” So by the time the movie started, I was already annoyed.

A disappointing sequel to what was an amazing surprise of a first entry. It felt in a way that it was parodying itself for some of the film. Not many of the jokes landed for me, Julianne Moore’s performance was so cartoonishly evil, all she needed was a mustache to twirl. Also the advertising was annoying as it threw Channing Tatum front and center, and he has all of about maybe five minutes of screen time. I just hate it when the trailers and TV spots do a whole bait and switch game.

Now I don’t necessarily feel like Detroit was a bad movie, it’s just a hard movie to watch. What I thought would be the story of the city of Detroit during these events, turned out to be a 2 hour long racist police interrogation. The acting is all fine and good, but it’s just not a movie you watch to pick yourself up. Its similar to me like Schindler’s List, it’s important to have this particular story told, but I don’t think I need to watch it again because it just hits you in the gut with how unrelentingly painful it is. Also again with the advertising and promoting gave the impression that John Boyega was the main character, when in fact he’s a very minor character. Again, bait and switch.

I don’t remember too much of this film, other than I know I didn’t finish it. I remember the trailers making it look like a typical “a kid and their pet blank” movie. When it started it seemed like an extremely black comedy of the likes of Dr. Strangelove. But then about the next 30 minutes, its this girl and her super pig wandering around. And with what seemed as such a jarring shift in tone bothers me and by the 45 minute mark I was so uninterested, I just turned it off.

While I commend Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon for putting their story out of how their relationship began, this film seemed a little too cut and paste with other R-Rated rom-coms. It was interesting to see a romance from another culture’s perspective, but it seemed to similar, structure-wise to many of Judd Apatow’s films like Knocked Up, This is 40, and 40 Year Old Virgin.

This was such a disappointment for me as I was a fan of the previous two Apes films in this trilogy. The CGI was very impressive in this film, having it looked better than before, the pacing of this movie was so slow. The only positive of this movie was Steve Zahn’s character of Bad Ape. The majority of this movie is a mopey revenge trip with Andy Serkis’ Caesar, with an escape from a prison. And then a little shit goes down, but honestly there was more action in Rise than this. Just a big let down.

Another show of character that Disney’s live action department has run out of ideas. What is almost a beat by beat remake of the original, this makes a bigger case that whoever started this idea of remaking their animated films to live action should be fired in my opinion. They try to put in some new songs, in my opinion, a ploy to attempt an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song. Shoddy CGI, and heavily auto-tuned Emma Watson and Dan Stevens make for ear grading musical numbers. The only thing that is worthwhile in here is Luke Evans’ Gaston. He embodies the character so well here, it makes it a little eerie throughout watching this movie.

This hardly works as a movie. What I imagine is a summarization of an entire series is squished into a two hour run time, feels like it. It jumps from point to point, making no discernible sense as to what’s happening or why. Willem Dafoe is mildly enjoyable as the voice of Ryuk, but it isn’t enough to save what looks and sounds like a shitty version of a CW murder mystery show.

A glossy shimmering musical wrapper of a movie that’s candy inside is about a man and his never ending obsession to climb the social and economic ladder no matter the costs. Clichés are abound with too many to count. Themes that are touched so vapidly, it barely scrapes the surface of what the side characters feel. The anachronistic music fits about as well as the original Shakespeare lines do with the modern setting of Baz Luhrman’s Romeo+Juliet. And such a complete waste of a phenomenal actress such as Michelle Williams.

There aren’t many movies I hate, because sometimes in the cracks of a bad movie, you can see the hard work that went into a certain set piece, or the costumes. But I fucking hated Murder on the Orient Express. Whatever attempts at humor they try, fail. The plot is so goddamn ridiculous and non-sensical that I left the theater angry for wasting my time. The good cast they assemble is wasted, and the pacing is so slow I was getting bored, drifting off into a daydream. I hated this movie.

So there is my list of least favorite films of this year. Does anyone agree, or disagree? Let me know. Stay tuned for my best of list later.

I’ve got a nice cold glass of water by my side, air conditioning, and video games, so let’s chat.

Lack of Update

Usually here I have a little blog-y editorial-esque update on my life, what’s going on, and all the complicated things. I don’t know if I have anything I necessarily want to share here. Things have happened. I had some ups and downs this week. A reviewer of video games from the 90s would have probably called it a “mixed bag”.

But there are some things I’m working on that I’d rather not share. A first, for Sunday Chats, I think? But I’m doing alright. I’ve managed to surround myself with supportive and wonderful folks.

To make up for not getting up to anything crazy or fun this week, I’ve tried to watch more stuff that people are out there making, so I’ll try and share that out in today’s chat.

Onto the next thing...

What I’ve Been Working On

My rut of not getting anything interesting written or done continues. But it’s very much self-inflicted. Essentially everything I want to write is a rewrite or a reworking of completed things, and that means I have to go back through the whole thing and find where I need to add, to tweak, to change. I haven’t been making enough time everyday when I write, so instead I’ve been writing new intros to things, or just jotting and half-establishing loose ideas in my head. I’m going to try and dedicate more time to actually writing some things this coming week, but with how my mental state has been, it’s been a bit tougher than usual to focus. I’ll try and get better with it.

I did, however, finish a big post-E3 write up and published that. Making it the first big thing I’ve published in quite a bit. Go check it out!

What’s on Tap

Alundra

So I’ve come back to Alundra. I think I may have mentioned it in last week’s Sunday Chats, but this is a very good game.

It’s a Zelda-like, and its definitely up there with Okami as not-Zelda games that are great games. Rivaling even the Zelda games they tried to compete with.

While Alundra is no Ocarina of Time, or A Link to the Past for that matter, it is still really rad.

Alundra has a big focus on platforming, which doing that from the isometric/Zelda perspective is, as you could imagine, challenging. It’s hard to know where you’re jumping to and so there is a pretty wide disconnect with when you jump and where you think you’ll land.

The different planes of view really effect this too. Sometimes platforms are up too high, but positioned in front of you so they kind of look like they’re right next to you.

What I’m saying is Alundra needs a 3DS remake.

Resident Evil 5

Anyone who follows IP on Twitch may have seen I started a new streaming series with this and Jacob Bryant. I’m pretty stoked about it, because Resident Evil 5 is great.

The game is just crazy fun with two people, and the way the arenas and set pieces fall into place is great. It’s a little bit of tension, very RE style, but it’s more an action-based tension, because you’re never without the tools to do something about the onslaught of enemies. 

It makes for a really great challenge. Also we’re playing on Hard Mode for some reason, and we’re probably going to die a lot more.

Colors is easy. My favorite color is red. I prefer Scarlet, as for a specific shade, but any passionate red color is good. Red is passionate. It’s bright and hard but soft and warm at the same time. The same is true of my second favorite, Blue, which I would always go back and forth with when I was younger. Blue or Red? I love them both honestly. 

My third is probably purple, honestly. Which I am coming to realize is very funny because that is red and blue together. But purple is just gorgeous. On a good day it may even be number one.

As for a boy bands... Well, I feel like I’ve been disappointing a lot of people on this recently, but I don’t really have an opinion. I’ve never really listened to them? Like, I respect them from afar, but I think I’ve heard like, two N Sync songs. There is this one Backstreet Boys song I really like, but I can’t even think of the name of it.

So I’m sorry that I’m a disappointment, is what I’m saying I guess.

I could spend forever on this question, so I’ll stick with broad themes and vibes that each gives me.

The first book is just magical. You get whisked away to another world. It totally encompasses you and really makes you feel like every kind of magic is possible.

The second book is great because its so juxtaposed to the first. It becomes so dark and dreary so quickly. It pulls the film back and shows you how dangerous magic is, and how deep-seeded hatred and prejudice runs through this world, just like ours.

The third is awesome. It’s so much about James and what he was like, and hearing more about that is great. It’s the only book Voldemort isn’t in at all, but you can feel him in every corner. You can feel that foreboding horror that is coming in the next book, but you don’t understand it at the time.

Goblet of Fire is like a highlights reel. It’s the summer blockbuster. It’s the high flying action piece of the series, from the World Cup, to each task, to the finale. It’s dark, it’s horrifying, it’s sad, and it’s full of emotion and angst. 

I love everything about Order of the Phoenix. Being so deep in Harry’s mind when he is going through living and watching a friend die. His insecurities, his self-doubt, his self-hatred, his disgust with himself, his dramatic tantrums. Every moment is genuine, and as someone who struggles with depression and hating himself and doubting every decision he has made, that shit hurts and hits home. I love Harry so much because there is so much of me in him, especially in this book.

Half Blood Prince may be my second favorite. It depends on the day. Finally getting all the secrets unveiled and seeing the relationship between Dumbledore and Harry really blossom. It’s all top notch, with an excellent turn of events and set up for the finale.

The seventh book is excellent too. It’s probably my favorite end to a series, one that’s spanned multiple things at least. It’s full of death, and regrets, and struggle, but it blossoms that same home that came from the first book. I adore it.

I have not read Cursed Child, and still know next to nothing about it.

HI!

Now I saw all the internet debates over Keenan and Kel vs. Drake and Josh, and I get it. They are two different eras, and I loved both of them. Drake and Josh was just more my jam.

That’s probably my favorite Nick live action show, just because I remember laughing the hardest I’ve ever laughed watching that show. 

But a special shoutout to iCarly. I know it gets a ton of shit, and I was just starting to grow out of that kind of show when I started watching it, but it was a show about three friends starting an internet sensation and growing into popularity. It was really ahead of its time, because it was about a show thats live-streamed on the internet. That’s like, half my life now? It’s crazy to think that started in 2007.

For a free bonus, to answer the Disney Channel OGM question, which is definitely a lot harder for me, some special shoutouts:

Smart House and Halloweentown are classics. But the real number one in my heart is Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century. I fucking loved that Disney Channel jam to death as a kid. Maybe the “Zequels” weren’t as good, but I liked the first a ton.

Also like, hey, I enjoyed my time with High School Musical. Just the first. And I watched all the Camp Rock movies. But that’s mostly just because I’m a trash human.

I am not going to RTX, unfortunately, but I will be in Austin the same weekend.

Kinda Funny Games Daily - new show from KF!

I was really worried about this show. It’s hard for me to keep up with daily content and I was concerned that it may lose the magic of that format I really love from stuff like PS I Love You. I am happy to say I was worried for nothing. Greg is excellent as always with his one-on-ones, and hearing that dynamic across different folks like Andrea Rene, who I also adore, is awesome. 

Nite Two @ E3 2017 - Austin Walker, Griffin McElroy, and more - GiantBomb

In my attempt to slowly catch up with the GiantBomb E3 content, I picked a couple of gems out. This was the first one. And whooooo dang is it funny. Having Griffin and Justin McElroy in the same room as Austin Walker, Patrick Klepek, and Jeff Gerstmann = very exciting for me.

The Adventure Zone - The McElroy Family of Podcasts (and Podcasters)

The big god’s honest truth as to why I am so behind on all my stuff is because I’ve been re-listening to The Adventure Zone from the beginning. I am already back on Episode 43 after just two weeks of doing this. And oh my god is this show so good. Griffin is such a good DM, and it’s so funny. The four McElroys have too much fun with their shenanigans in dungeons and gerblins world, and I can’t recommend it enough.

A shorter, more consumable Sunday Chats today. I’m getting excited for my next trip coming up, and I’m hopefully going to start working on some new ideas soon, so I am stoked for what’s coming in the future!

2. Notes in Regards to Requests and NSFW Requests

So I realize that Aomine is one of the popular characters that is requested for NSFW. I do not mind doing NSFW, however, there are only so many different ways authors can write NSFW requests without them being repetative. You can still send in Aomine NSFW requests, just know that most of the time they won’t be full-on NSFW.

I love getting requests from you guys, I do!! * HUGS*(>^_^)> <(^_^<). Just know that from now on, I will be choosing which requests I will write. The way I choose which requests to write is determined by which catch my interest. I will keep all requests on file (I have a whole document with all of the requests I receive). 3. New Story

So I’ve been toying with the idea of starting a Kasamatsu x OC story; it will be a crossover with another sports anime (here’s a hint: it involves teams represented by a crow, cat, and an owl). Lemme know what you think of that.

So as you may or may not know, this is not my main blog; this is one of my side blogs. I have an additional sideblog called “Unofficial Anime Quotes” (<-Click to go there). I just created a new side blog and yes, its another unofficial quotes one; the difference with this one, is that it has a theme....the theme is Kaijo. So this new quotes blog will feature unofficial quotes said by the Kaijo Elites (Kise, Kasamatsu, Hayakawa, Moriyama, Nakamura, Kobori and their coach). 

Note that I will be copy and pasting quotes that I originally posted on my other unofficial quotes blog so thats why some will be repetitive (I will also be reblogging the quotes from that blog to my unofficialanimequotes one).

So, I figured, I would do a little reward thing for milestones. 

When this blog reaches 500 followers, I will do a Q & A video, recording me playing the sims (I will be starting a new game when this milestone happens); no face, just my voice. When we reach 1,000 followers, I will do a full face reveal.

So what are my favorite games Part 1

So just to make things clear i haven been writing 1.because this is actually my second attempt at writing this i accidentally closed the tab the first time, uh and i only lost a few hours of work. and 2.because I’ve been working at my job a lot more frequently as of late. anyway, i could probably write an entire full length essay on all of these games but I’ll try to shorten things up, oh yeah uh some games on the list might not be that good, as I may include a game from my childhood that i have fond memories of, but maybe wasn’t as good as i remembered it, anyway its a top 10 so lets begin.

Number 10: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess                                              Developer and Release year: Nintendo, 2006/2016 remaster                                What it can be played on: Gamecube/Wii/Wii U                                                                                                                                                                                              The Legend of Zelda is my favorite game series of all time, thats obvious if you know anything about me, and twilight princess is one I’ve played more recently, and from the start you notice Twilight Princess is definitely going for that early 2000′s edgy tone (is that a coincidence or an actual trend, i dunno i was really young in 06 so...) which works fine, and its a really long game, I mean I spent a week or two beating it, that being said i had work and other things going on at the time, but any way it has been said by many more before me, that it is basically an edgy, long,Ocarina of Time remake with motion controls....and they aren’t wrong, though i have called it edgy but i think its more...dark i guess? any way i actually like this better than Ocarina of Time, before you assault me i loved Ocarina of Time, i just tried to put as few Zelda games on the list as i could, and i just enjoyed the Twilight Princess story, characters, and length a bit more, but back to the remake opinion, i sort of agree yeah, but i thought the mystery around Midna and Zant and the Twilight realm, and the mirror, were all something that sets it apart, so in the end i enjoyed it a lot.                                                                                                                                                                    Favorite Part(s)? Arbiters Grounds. AW MAN, I love the Arbiters grounds, the sneaking, the spinner, the boss, the setting, all of it is on point, even the wolf part is unique with the poe chasing, and also the Final Ganon boss I liked all of it, though his appearance is a bit late i thought it was a fun, long, and intense fight

Yes, this is one of my favorite games of my childhood and since i cant go back and re-evaluate the game because it’s closed unfortunately (except for some server projects that are happening) I’m talking about it completely based on my memories. One reason I love it is, the game’s story and lore at the time captivated me so much that i decided to write stories about stuff my character(s) did, which basically kick-started my interest in writing, as bad as those stories were, I loved the game, I had it’s official LEGO set (Still do it’s a nice little orange rocket ship that could be used in-game) and convinced my cousins to play it too, and we all enjoyed it, now of course i was an MLGPROBOI at the game so I had rare pets and the best weapons and a RED PARROT GUYS (I believe it was super rare and a big deal) so I loved being really cool n’ stuff, people would ask me to help them take out Butterscorch (that was the hardest boss in the game, a purple dragon, BUT SINCE I WAS AN MLGPROBOI I COULD DO IT MYSELF BUT I WAS NICE SO I HELPED) and even sell them secrets on how to do stuff, yeah i was a cool guy, cant relate now, I’ll never be as cool as my alter-alias Square Von Pancake :(                                                                                                                                                                Favorite Part(s): Me and my brother played i t together all the time and we loved the combat at crux prime the most, Crux Prime was the place with the hardest enemies and bosses and it was really fun to be challenged for a while. plus though it was out for only a year we still have countless memories of it, and they added Ninjago in it which I was SUPER into at the time and enjoyed having my character do Ninjago stuff...  

Number 8: Mount and Blade: Warband                                                                    Developer and Release Year: Taleworlds, 2010                                                      What it can be played on: PC, PS4, XB1                                                                                                                                                                                                      Mount and Blade Warband and its expansion Mount and Blade Napoleonic Wars, is one of my favorite multiplayer, and story games, the story mode is fun because you can do what you want, YOU choose the faction you fight with or not to at all, your class, your stats, and you can make some uh *beautiful* characters, the main story, i believe the objective is to become the emperor of Calradia, and rule the dang place and be rich and cool and have people like you, but I dont usually do that i just fight for factions, make money in the arena and at tournaments, and hire mercenaries and win against armies of 200 with like 30 people, its fun, now second talking point for me is the multiplayer, this is where Napoleonic Wars comes in, it is a fun shooter with muskets , or swords....or screw it you can play the bagpipes, that last one is totally not something me and my friends would do late at night. The Maps are super well designed as well and each look nice, and are usually not unbalanced. The third thing is the modding community, if you have this game, and don’t have the Anglo-Zulu war mod, that is just wrong, I mean it is so fun to get your friends and survive against large waves of zulu, or have some friends with the Zulu, it is just a unique experience for me, and other mods are cool to like the Civil War mod.                                                                                                                                                                    Favorite part(s): The Story mode is awesome in the way that it was a time in m life where i was without internet for a good month or two, but i had my laptop and the story mode kept me entertained for basically the whole time, also there are so many fun memories of the AZW mod and late night spent surviving waves.  

Number 7: Lego Battles                                                                                          Developer and Release Year: Warner Bros., Hellbent and Lego, 2009                  What it can be played on: DS                                                                                                                                                                                                                        Lego Battles is also a nostalgia pick, and also happens to be a Lego game, but the difference is it still holds up to me today, and i can still play it today...any way I love the gameplay, it’s a basic RTS but with fun themes like Wizards and Knights and Pirates and Aliens vs Humans, and each has a different play style, but not too different that it didn’t confuse me as a kid, I always liked the pirates and the aliens, I dont know why, but uh a drawback is that it can be too easy, at the time I wasnt fast or good enough to beat the AI with my first base, but i quickly learned if i just escaped after the destruction of the first one and just built a stronger second one, i would have more time because the AI couldnt find me and i would win pretty much every time, but despite that I enjoyed all the campaigns and loved the cutscenes and the extra characters like Santa and the Skeleton Guy (tm) and the Conquistador and the Alien Queen etc. and the way to unlock them was to find red bricks in the campaign levels, and/or collect studs which i thought was a fun challenge at the time, and today i sometimes like to go back to it for some casual RTS action                                                                                                                                                                                                     Favorite Part: The Gameplay, it’s simple, fun, and  doesn’t take too long, so if i just want to pick up a short game of the RTS genre I usually spring for this

Number 6: Star Wars Battlefront 2 Classic                                                              Developer and Release Year: Pandemic Studios, LucasArts , 2005                      What it can be played on: PC/PS2/XBOX                                                                                                                                                                                                      The fact that this comes in at number 6 on my list really doesn’t tell how much I love and appreciate this game, this is probably THE game I played the most in my childhood, and even still I play it online with the new servers (I disagree with you sometimes Disney, but thanks for those) This game is so replayable and I haven’t even played through the campaign yet, yeah, what I have done though is beaten all the Galactic Conquest stories, probably more than once. So for those of you that don’t know Galactic Conquest is a mode where each team starts with one ship and one type of troop and you fly around a map of the galaxy and take over enemy planets and defend yours and buy troops with the money you earn from the battles, and if the two ships run in to each others then they do a space battle, and Im gonna say it now i grew up playing the PS2 version with my cousins, but now I play the PC version and when we play with our cousins they play the XBOX version on Xbox One, any way the PC version is the best in terms of FPS and general gameplay smoothness, but the console versions have Galactic Conquest multiplayer which is something that we have spent countless hours playing, and in the end Battlefront 2 will be one of the best shooters of all time, and better than the new Battlefront 2 because that one is no where near good enough to share a name with the classic one, any way, i will always love Battlefront 2                                                                                                                                                                  Favorite part(s): Galactic Conquest and shout out to the maps Kashyyyk and Tantine IV, they’re the best
