Henchwoman: So, what seems to be the problem?
The Devil: This.
The Devil: *Thinks about Dice and grows a silly smile on her face*
Henchwoman: Daw! Boss! You’re in love!
The Devil: What?? That’s ridiculous!

The One I Want
Laura Kinney x Spiderpool!Reader
For @deafeningsharkslimeempath
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Do you know that one moment where you just feel like you screwed everything up spectacularly? well that happened to me rather recently. Oh sorry where are my manners? my name is (Y/N) (L/N) and on my world I’m known as the spectacularly annoying Spider-Pool. The spectacularly annoying part is debatable.
You see it all started when the TVA zapped me into the void, something about being an anomaly, a profane and unholy combination of both Spider-Man and Deadpool. Honestly, it’s just the best of both worlds in my book or it would be a book if I wasn’t more than just one panel in comic book of the spider verse. True story look it up.
Or it could’ve been the fact that I killed Jared Leto, oh not Morbius. I’m saying I literally killed Jared Leto. It was an accident. I thought I was going after Morbius but oh well.
To make a long story short, I was forced to team up with X-23 or Laura as she likes to be called. One of my all time favorite X-Men characters by the way!
Anyway we found ourselves at an agreement, if I got her back to her timeline and out of the Void she would help me do the same. A good deal all things considered. The only downside is the TVA is so flip floppy. I mean one show it’s the villain the next show it’s good? Fiege, please make up your mind about what the TVA is?!
“You’re sure this plan of ours will work?” Laura told me as we drove thru the woods towards the reported base of the resistance found in the Void.
“If it works, I’ll be happily back in my world by this time tomorrow, Fun Size” Laura’s eyes went wide and she slammed on the brakes, nearly sending me flying into the windshield.
“If?! What do you mean if?!” She was screaming at me. My mind could only formulate the truth. I thought truth telling was Captain America's problem?!
"The TVA are hunting me and I need to get back home to save my world." Oh yeah it all came out like a big old truth salad. A truth salad that you order from Pizza Hut and immediately regret.
Laura began screaming and banging her fists against the steering wheel, "Are you fucking kidding me?! Out of all the spider totems to get stuck in the Void with and I end up with you!"
Oh I knew exactly where this was heading. A teenage superhero such as myself could only baton down the hatches and listen as this beautiful teenage fighting machine chewed me out. How is this both the most embarrassing and fulfilling moment of my life?
"I end up with the biggest fuck up in the multiverse! A spider-deadpool equivalent that couldn't save his Aunt May or Uncle Ben. Twice!"
It's true. I even somehow got my universe's Sean Bean killed. Yes. That Sean Bean. He wasn't even playing my Uncle Ben or anything!
Laura continued her little tirade, "No wonder the Spider Society turned you down! And the Avengers too! You can't save anyone or anything. Your world hates you! The girls you were supposed to love hate you! Mary Jane couldn't stand you. Gwen probably enjoyed death more than you!"
I could feel the anger rising up in the pit of my heart.
"The greatest joke is that no matter how much you wish for death to be with Gwen, you can't die! And it's one of God's greatest jokes on us instead of you!!!"
I was left in stone cold utter silence. I could feel my vision beginning to turn as red as my outfit.
"What?! No witty comeback?!"
"I'm going to fight you now" was all that left my mouth. And you know what? I meant it. Every. Last. Fucking. Word.
"Oh are you-?" THWIP! I shot one of my web guns, a web flew right over her mouth. The anger immediately flared in her eyes. Next thing I knew she lunged at me, claws out.
She grabbed my head and slammed it several times against the car radio. I grabbed her and gently pushed her against the driver seat. Hey I may be in a fight for my life but I’d still never hurt a woman.
Laura took one of her claws and ran it over the web, cutting it. I really should have taken Fictional Chemistry to understand that admantium is stronger than webs.
“This is ridiculous! I can’t hurt a girl!”
“A girl can hurt you!” She retorted before driving her claws in my lungs.
I kicked her straight thru the windshield of the Odyssey and into the forest in front of us. She simply smirked and dove right back thru. I had to admire her tenacity and endurance.
That admiration was interrupted with the familiar feeling of Adamantium being driven straight thru me, over and over.
She began muttering something in Spanish. Sadly I didn’t have the subtitles on so I couldn’t exactly know what she was saying. My Spanish only goes as far as my name: la piscina de aranas.
I pinned her to the second row seats, which were flattened like my heart was after the dog’s death in John Wick.
Laura simply laughed and kicked me straight thru the roof of the Honda. I landed on the roof with a sickening thud and rolled off, hitting the forest floor.
Laura, ever the tease, looked at me thru the window and gave me a come at me signal. “I am a teenage superhero,” I found myself wondering, “how am I terrified and yet so turned on?”
I pulled out my punch daggers and dived right thru the side window.
We traded blows and slashes. She let out a few huffs and groans. She straddled me and begins driving her claws repeatedly, coating the interior with a lovely shade of my blood.
She paused and looked at me in concern, “is that a Glock in your pocket?!”
“I never keep a Glock in there” I laughed before pulling out another gun, “I keep a Desert Eagle!”
Blam! Blam! I fired off several shots at her, one of which hit her rib and the other hit one of her claws.
“That all you got?” She asked me thru gritted teeth.
I grabbed my web gun and shot off several shots, encasing one of her arms in a giant web. She cut right thru it and lunges at me again. She forced us into the remaining back third row. Yeah the Odyssey has three rows. Three rows of get your freak on.
Next thing I knew Laura was looking at me with those brown eyes of hers. It had a mixture of anger and... Wait what was that? Is that lust?!
Well I guess it was. Because the next thing I knew she was driving her claws into the sides of the seats to my left and my right and then she kissed me full on lip lock with teeth hitting mine lip lock. Holy Stan Lee!
Each little growl that escaped her mouth was like a bit of heaven, a symphony to my ears, and quite possibly a fear of hell.
“I…uhh…” my brain tried to comprehend the exact situation that I was going through. It was something so great and yet so terrifying and couldn’t help it intrigue me even more.
“You talk too much” was her only response before she continued her onslaught of kisses. And boy was she right.
She shoved me down onto the remaining back seat, her lips never leaving mine. I began rubbing little circles into her back as the Honda continued rocking back and forth.
It was night by the time we had worked thru all of our differences…and no we did not go any farther than a PG-13 would allow.
Laura nuzzled me, laying against my chest. We shared a bottle of Coke that we found earlier. I gotta admit, besides the whole trying to kill me thing, I could really see a long partnership with her. Both crime fighting and in private.
“I’m sorry” she whispered. “It’s not your fault. The TVA is just the worst.”
“Yeah” I agreed, “sorry I shot you with a Desert Eagle”
Laura simply smirked and held up the bullet before dropping it on the Honda’s floor. “I’ll help you get back home”
“I’ll make sure you have a home to get back to.” I smiled at her and gave her forehead a little kiss.
“Aww” a new voice broke the silence. Laura and I turned to see Deadpool and Wolverine staring at us from outside the Honda.
“Young love” Deadpool chimed in.
OK, so not exactly how I was expecting this whole date to go, but I gotta say turn out better than I thought it would. And what can I say the Honda Odyssey really fucks.

Life After Info Post
[Click here to access the Life After Digital Comic Book]
Summary: Two years ago, a viral outbreak rose the dead. Considering how his life had gone up to this point, surgeon Trafalgar Law figured this might as well happen too. When a supply run into the nearby city gets intercepted by a seemingly reckless and impulsive former patient, the dependable routine Law had settled into in this new life shatters. He finds himself exposed — his body out in the infected landscape, his conscious clawing to define what he believes is right, his heart begrudgingly deciding to find a new home on his sleeve. Maybe there’s more than a virus roaming the new world that can bring a dead man back to life.
Content Warnings: Canon typical violence, zombies/body horror (but lbr I am not good at making scary things look scary)
Relationships: Luffy x Law
Update Schedule: New page every Monday/Wednesday/Friday
Page Count: [37 posted | 55 drawn]
Latest Update: [7/21/24] WOWEE did I get myself carried away this morning. I just spent 5 hours organizing my comics and creating the digital comic book pages. I could have spent that time drawing or idk not doing what I do for my job, but I cannot be stopped. Anyway I blocked out 30 pages of this comic last week and they include the most intense action sequence I've ever done in my gotdang life. Wish me luck because I am nervous about tying down all my drawings lmao.
OLD UPDATES:
[6/29/24] HULLO! I'm doing so bad at keeping my masterposts updated lately I am sorry. All pages of life after are tagged life after if you're ever looking between masterpost updates! Also exciting update, I finally have figured out all the different plot points i'm gonna be hitting (yay!). I got hung up on something for awhile that made me not wanna work on this project, but I'm back at it. I think we'll end up with 6-7 parts! I have probably another 80-100 pages to draw lol. Also i got the app Magic Poser and it's AWESOME and I immediately used it to block out sets cuz MAN I hate backgrounds.
[6/10/24] HELLO. I'm sorry I've been shit at updating my masterposts lately. It's easiest to do from my computer, which I rarely use, and life has been happening. I also can't believe I bungled the queue and posted pg19 before pg18 i am very sorry 🤦 Eventually I'll have to turn this into an airtable base I'm sure, but until that day comes where I have like 100 pages of this comic we're stickin to the regular post lmao
[5/26/23] I got real caught up in doing summer of lawlu comics this week and this is the first week since the first week of April I haven't drawn new Life After pages and it feels weird 🙊
[5/19/24] More Luffy backstory comin' this week! :^)
[5/12/24] Updating now so get myself on schedule to update on Sundays like I had been with my other comic master post!
[5/8/24] Thank you to everyone who's liked/reblogged/comment on the first few pages!! It means the world to me that anyone's reading my silly little comics.
[4/28/24] HULLO. It’s happeninnng. I’ve spent the last few weeks working on this comic, and I gotta make this post so I can start queuing pages & link this in them! This is the most like….legit? Comic endeavor I’ve undertaken perhaps….ever. I’m very nervous about committing to how long it will need to be lol. This story is dear to my heart — zombie content is kind of my very favorite. I’ve always found it to be a great backdrop for exploring themes like grief, coping with change, community, and learning to live again. It’ll be a long haul but I hope you’ll ride it out with me!! Tomorrow I’ll be posting the first two pages. After that a page will post every Monday/Wednesday/Friday. As of this post I’ve completed over 20 pages so that I have a good lead on what’s posting and continuing to write, so I’m hopeful that’s a cadence I’ll be able to maintain. I’ll update this post weekly to include the most recent pages the way I do with my main comics master post. All pages will be tagged 'Life After' and I'll tag any pages with zombies in them with 'zombie' for blacklisting etc.

Happy 1st Birthday Jangles!!
Tumblr media
This post was originally going to be a humongous comic filled with lore, goofs, and even a bit of angst? 👀 And then have a funny/wholesome ending. Just like Bibi’s birthday comic.
But.. I ran into a problem. I didn’t know what to get for Jangles.
For Bibi’s present it was obvious what to get him. He wanted a real friend. Bringing Jangles to life was perfect and really tied the whole comic together.
But Jangles? What does he want?
I wracked my brain for days. And when I finally thought of an idea? I only had 8 days left to make it happen. Sketch the comic out on paper, sketch it again in digital, line it, color it, backgrounds, dialogue.. I also had to make the actual present so that its picture could be used in the comic. All while having a very busy schedule for this week AND while working on Moon Malfunction..
I thought I could pull it off. So I got to sketching right away.
The comic would start with me in a big black blob. Locking myself away to try and get this project done as fast as possible. You know, like a total drama queen XD
Bibi and Jangles break in, and Bibi tries to talk to me but I ignore him. Meanwhile Jangles goes over to this goopy present by the wall. The present has a tag with Jangles name on it. As he goes to open it I do a spoopy jump scare and tell him not to.  Jangles and I then proceed to go back and fourth. “Why not?” Because its not good enough yet. “I’m sure its fine, what is it? What’s it for?” I cant tell you what its for because its not that day yet. “What is that day? And why cant we know about it?” “BECAUSE, its a S E C R E T-”
Bibi then says I need a break. I tell him I cant because I’m running out of time. I tell him that it needs to be posted on a specific day and that it has to be perfect but I don’t know what to do..
Jangles then deadpans “Its my birthday isn’t it?”
“...Yes. It is.”
“Okay? So what? I get wanting to post it on the day. But why all this pressure for the perfect gift?”
I explain that Bibi got a big special comic for his birthday. It had all the bells and whistles and it had the perfect gift. Jangles. And I wanted to do the same for him. I explained that the problem though was I haven’t really written enough of Jangles character to know what he would want.. I then wrote for Jangles response to be,
“Well what I dont want is you stressing yourself out over me.”
..I stopped sketching the comic at that point. I realized that I was stressing myself out way too much over this comic. It was 1 in the morning at that point. I was already pushing myself so hard to get this done on time and make it perfect that all the fun was just zapped right out of it.
But I still worried a bit. I care about Jangles as my character and I wanted to do something cool for him. I wanted to post this at midnight on the dot, but that would require me to stay up until then when I’m still wiped out from the day before.. I also still wanted to get him a cool present.. But again I figured Jangles wouldn’t want me to stress over this “big comic” and “special gift” stuff.  So I just settled for a break.
This entire post was prepared early, and posted when ever I was awake enough to post it. All the days beforehand I spent just taking my time with Moon Malfunction and focusing on my schedule. And on the day I’m posting it, I plan to draw nothing. Just relax and take a break from everything. I’ll get back around to all my projects tomorrow.
I think a post with minimal effort and day of no Tumblr, is probably exactly what Jangles would have wanted. So Happy Birthday Jangles! And thanks for the day off! XD

Can’t you tell?
pairing: Eddie Munson x reader
warnings: drunkenness for Eddie, non sexual bed sharing
summary: friends to lovers. When you go on a date with someone else Eddie gets drunk and you get called to pick him up. Confessions of love.
word count: 2,000
Tumblr media
Eddie watched you from his place on your bed. He was seated cross legged on the center of your bed as he flipped through one of the comic books he’d found in your room. He wasn’t processing any of the words or images on the pages, but he couldn’t bring himself to look up at you.
You were getting ready for a date. A date that was not with Eddie. You were both disappointed about that fact, though neither of you would admit it. You were doing your best to be excited despite the fact that the date was not with Eddie. You hadn’t been on a date in a long time, unable to consider anyone but Eddie. It had been too long though. You and Eddie were just friends. You had known each other since you were kids. It was stupid to wait for him when there was nothing between you.
And so you were going on a date with a guy Nancy had set you up with. She knew him from her internship with the newspaper and had spoken highly of him.
You were putting extra effort into your appearance as a way to try and make yourself more excited about the date. You’d bought a floral dress and a pair of flats. You turned to Eddie with two pairs of earrings in hand.
“Which ones?” You asked. Eddie glanced up at you briefly.
“I don’t know,” he said and turned back down to the comic book. You raised an eyebrow. Eddie was usually happy to help you pick out your outfits. Usually you were going somewhere with him though. You put one of the pairs back and put on the other pair. You put on the necklace that Eddie had gotten you for your birthday. You turned back to face Eddie.
“Okay, how do I look?” You asked. Eddie looked up at you again. You looked beautiful. You had put extra effort into your hair and makeup. The dress you were wearing fit you perfectly, and Eddie was conflicted on whether he was glad Nancy had picked it out for you. On one hand, you looked amazing, but on the other, it hadn’t been bought for him. He was burning with jealousy as he looked at you. He noticed that you had chosen the necklace he’d given you and he wanted to gouge his eyes out. But he could never bring himself to be anything but kind to you.
“You look great, angel,” Eddie said. His voice was devoid of emotion though.
“Okay, good,” you said, you were too nervous to notice Eddie’s sadness. You glanced at the clock. “Oh, you should probably go,” you said. Eddie raised an eyebrow.
“I thought he was picking you up?” Eddie asked, refusing to say the name of the man who was getting to go on a real date with you.
“He is, but I don’t want you to be here when he gets here. I don’t want him thinking there’s something going on between us,” you said. Eddie’s heart sank.
“Yeah, you’re right. Wouldn’t want him getting jealous,” he said. His voice was completely dejected. He barely sounded like himself. He got up from your bed, plopping the comic book he’d been reading back where he found it. He picked up his jacket and headed for your door.
“I’ll see you tomorrow,” Eddie said. He left without hugging you, something you were acutely aware of.
Your date went fine. Not good, not bad. There was nothing wrong with the guy, but you didn’t have any chemistry with him. You were home by nine. You thought about calling Eddie but you remembered that he had a Hellfire meeting, so you watched some tv and then went to bed.
Your phone rang and woke you from a pleasant dream about you and Eddie. You reached for the phone on your nightstand blindly.
“Hello?” You mumbled into the phone.
“Hey, it’s Dustin.” You rubbed your eyes.
“Dustin, it’s 2:30 in the morning, what do you need?” You asked, the annoyance in your tone clear as day.
“Eddie’s really drunk. He just keeps saying your name. I think maybe you should come get him,” Dustin said. You sighed.
“Where are you?” You asked as you started pulling on a pair of sweatpants.
“The Hide Out,” Dustin said.
“I’ll be right there. The rest of you are going home too. You shouldn’t be there,” you told Dustin. You hung up the phone, pulled a sweatshirt on and grabbed your keys, locking the door to your small apartment behind you. You were nervous as you drove. It wasn’t that Eddie didn’t drink, but he always knew his limits. Taking the boys to a bar was already out of character. You trusted them enough to know they hadn’t been drinking, but nevertheless, you knew something was wrong.
You pulled over when you saw Eddie and his little crowd of freshmen. Eddie was seated on the ground leaning against Mike’s legs. When your car slowed you watched as the boys started hoisting Eddie up from the ground. You parked the car and got out to help the boys get Eddie into the passenger’s seat.
“Need Y/N,” Eddie mumbled.
“I’m right here, Eds,” you said as you buckled his seat belt for him. He didn’t seem to be clocking that his rescuer was you. You closed the passenger door and turned around to the boys.
“What happened?“ You asked as you crossed your arms. Mike and Lucas wouldn’t make eye contact. Lucas scratched the back of his neck and Mike ran a hand through his hair. You turned your gaze to Dustin who simply looked sad. Mike coughed to interrupt the silence.
“I’m already past my curfew, can we go?” Mike asked. You pursed your lips. Lucas climbed into the car before you could respond, Mike sliding in after him. You grabbed Dustin’s wrist as he tried to follow.
“What happened to Eddie?” You asked pointedly. Dustin looked into your eyes silently before sighing in resignation.
“You’re breaking his heart, y/n,” Dustin said. You screwed your eyebrows together.
“What are you talking about?“ You questioned.
“He’s in love with you,” Dustin said. “Can’t you tell?” He ducked into the backseat before you could ask any more questions. You stood there as you processed Dustin’s words.
“C’mon, y/n!” Mike called through the open window. You shook off the bomb Dustin had just dropped on you and got into your car. After you had dropped the boys off you turned the car and reached over to Eddie, gently shaking him awake.
“Eds?” You called softly.
“Hmm?” He hummed, slowly opening his eyes. “Y/N!” He exclaimed when he noticed you. You smiled.
“Hey, Eds.” You pushed some hair out of his face. “You wanna go to my place or yours?” You asked him.
“Home,” he mumbled.
“Whose home? You asked.
“Ours. Yours,” Eddie murmured. Your heart was bursting as you heard him call your apartment his home. And not just his home, but both of yours. You nodded and pulled back onto the road to head off to the small one bedroom you had on the edge of town.
You managed to get Eddie into your apartment and plopped him down on your bed. You kneeled in front of him and undid the laces on his boots, pulling them off and putting them by the door. You pulled off his jacket and vest carefully, hanging them over the back of your desk chair with his jeans. He was left in his Hellfire Club shirt and boxers. You pushed him around till he was laying flat on the mattress. You went back to your kitchen and got him a glass of water. You left it on his nightstand and started heading towards the other side of the bed.
“You alright, Eds?” You asked once you’d gotten into bed.
“Mmhmm,” he hummed. He rolled over and threw his body across yours. He buried his head in your chest and swung a leg over your body. You held back a chuckle.
“Comfy?” You teased him.
“Yeah,” Eddie said genuinely, missing your jest in his drunkenness. “Your boobs are my favorite pillow,” Eddie said. You couldn’t help but laugh. “Too loud,” Eddie whined.
“Sorry,” you murmured.
“Are we gonna be okay tomorrow?” Eddie asked.
“Okay?” You questioned.
“I heard what Dustin told you,” Eddie said. You were quiet. “He’s right. I am in love with you.”
“Let’s talk about it in the morning,” you said before he could say anything in his drunkenness that he might regret.
“Promise we’ll be okay?” Eddie’s voice was so small and soft.
“I promise, Eds. We’ll be okay,” you assured him. You reached up and laced your fingers in Eddie’s hair, scratching his scalp gently. Eddie mewled at the feeling. “Get some sleep, Eds,” you cooed.
When you woke up Eddie was still in your arms, his head resting against your chest. He was drawing aimless shapes against your arm with his index finger. You sighed happily. You’d slept in the same bed as Eddie before, but you never touched when you did. Waking up with Eddie in your arms felt like one of the best moments of your life.
“Good morning, Edward,” you said quietly.
“Morning,” Eddie mumbled tiredly against your chest.
“How’s your head?” You asked.
“Hurts,” Eddie said shortly.
“You want some breakfast?” You asked.
“No. Want to stay here,” he said.
“Okay,” you agreed. You laid there with Eddie for a while. You reached up and ran your fingers through his hair, gently detangling his bedhead. You couldn’t push away what Dustin had told you the night before though. And then what Eddie had said after. “Eds?”
“Yeah?” He muttered.
“When do you want to talk about…what Dustin told me?” You asked. Eddie’s body stiffened for a moment. He sat up so he could look you in the eye.
“Now is fine,” he said. His eyes were red with tiredness and his skin pale, even for him, but he was awake. It was like his hangover had magically disappeared when you said you wanted to talk to him.
“Are you sure, Eddie? We can wait till you’re feeling better,” you said.
“Feel better just being with you, because I’m in love with you, angel,” he said firmly. Your breath caught in your throat and your heart skipped a beat.
“Are you sure?” You asked. Eddie chuckled.
“Am I sure?” He repeated. “Of course I’m sure. I’ve loved you since we were sixteen, baby.” Your cheeks warmed bashfully and you broke eye contact with Eddie.
“I um…” You hesitated. Eddie’s smile dropped. His heart felt like lead. Thoughts were rushing through his mind.
She doesn’t love me back. She just wants to be friends. I’ve ruined everything.
“I’ve loved you since we were eighteen,” you confessed. Eddie’s heart leapt into his throat, fluttering wildly. He grinned.
“Do you have a toothbrush I can borrow?” Eddie asked.
“What?” You asked in confusion.
“Do you have a toothbrush I can borrow?” Eddie repeated himself. “I want to kiss you, but my breath has got to be terrible,” he explained. You laughed at him.
“I’ll risk it,” you said. You leaned in, closing the distance between you. You slotted your lips with Eddie’s, taking his bottom lip between yours. You suckled on his plush lips for a moment before opening your mouth to let him slide his tongue against yours. He had moved his hands to your face, cupping your cheeks in his hands. He tipped your head back so that he could gain control over the kiss. You moaned into his mouth and Eddie smiled against your lips. He pulled away slowly, savoring the moment. He still had his hands on your cheeks, forehead pressed to yours.
“Wow…” you sighed.
“Yeah,” Eddie murmured in agreement. A smirk spread across your lips.
“I should’ve let you brush your teeth.”

in which you and tashi go through the trials of ivf.
you and tashi were both career driven women adding a baby in the mix wasn’t something the two of you wanted to do right away, but being married for three years now every time you watched her interact with kids something in you yearned to have one of your own.
pregnancy consumes your mind. it seems like everyone you meet is pregnant or trying and you’re weirdly jealous. “tashi?” she hums at you. “what do think about having a baby?” tashi freezes in the middle of the aisle. now probably wasn’t the best time for this conversation, in the grocery store shopping to restock for the week. “um, i think having a baby would be a lot of work.” tashi stands up straighter and begins pushing the cart again. “yes, but i basically work from home already and we’d have our mothers to help us.” you could see in tashi’s face how hard she was thinking about this. “ok, and how would we get this baby?” you guys were stopped in the pasta aisle. “so glad you asked.” tashi liked when you got excited about things. “there’s of course always adoption but while reading i found this thing called reciprocal ivf. we’d take your egg and put it in my womb so the baby has a biological connection to both of us. tashi i’d be carrying your baby.” you grabbed her hands to hold them in yours getting a little emotional. the look you gave tashi made it easy for her to decide. “ok.” your eyebrows shot up. “ok? ok as in ok we’re going have a baby?” tashi’s nod was all you needed to start bouncing up and down squealing before tashi started to shush you.
you and tashi were at the clinic the following week, having done both your individual check ups it was time to meet with the doctor together. it felt like you had been sitting in that office waiting for the doctor for an eternity. tashi feeling you fidgeting next to her grabs your hand placing a kiss on the back of it then kissing the side of mouth. “i’m nervous.” you mumbled. the doctor walked in causing the two of you to sit up. “good morning ladies how are we today?” good mornings were echoed back to her. “so i’ve taken a look at both of you labs and you’re both very healthy women we should have no problem extracting eggs.” sighs of relief fall from you and tashi as you give each other happy smiles. “you’ve already decided to take the eggs from tashi all you need to do is find a donor our website has a list of all of the registered donor here at the clinic just browse through a give us a call.
later that night you sat on your side of the bed computer in lap as you scrolled through the different men. “oh tash, look what about him?” tashi crawled next to you looking over your shoulder at the computer. “no.” she was quick to deny slipping under the covers next to you. you sigh closing the laptop. “you’ve said that to all the guys i’ve shown.” you turned to face her. “we have to pick someone you know.” tashi just shrugged “i know that but it’s not like we’re ordering a pizza love the man we pick will be fertilizing the egg that will make our baby. it’s already scary enough that he’ll be a complete stranger.” you understood where tashi’s pickiness was coming from you too wanted the best of the best. you ran your fingers through tashi’s hair while she placed kisses on neck inching lower and lower when you gasps sitting upright. “what if we used your friend the cute blonde one.” tashi stopped her kisses. “art? you wanna use my ex boyfriend’s now boyfriend as our sperm donor?” the look tashi gave you was comical. you pushed her onto her back moving your body to straddle hers. “don’t look at me like that i’m serious.” you pouted. “we know art he’s funny, he’s tall, he’s athletic and even if he tries to deny it he’s a great singer come on tashi it never hurts to ask.” you whispered the last part against the skin of her neck sliding your hand up her shirt ghosting over her nipple. “fine i’ll call patrick tomorrow have them over for dinner.” tashi sighs out your mouth meeting hers.
at breakfast you could hear her on the phone with patrick before she hung up. “they’ll be over tonight, don’t forget to ice the good red.” she kissed your forehead then was off to tennis practice. you loved hanging out with art and patrick they were a fun couple despite the weird history between the two of them and your wife you all got along great. “did you guys get a new jacuzzi?” art questioned looking over your backyard that you had recently paid a lot of money to have renovated. you stood next to him “yes! i can’t believe you noticed that.” you and art talked more about the renovation while tashi and patrick fought at the grill over how long the meat should be cooked. “i’m the man here tashi i think know how to cook meat.” tashi gave him the look specially reserved for when men annoyed her. “why is it burning then?” she walked off after that leaving patrick to try and save his burning steak.
the four of you ate outside on the backyard patio. laughter filled the air and it got a little chilly as the sky got darker. patrick refilled his third glass of wine when he realized you hadn’t even had your first. “what’s up with you why aren’t you drinking?” you got quite and tashi cleared her throat. the two of you looked at each other silently asking each other who was gonna address it first. “thats has to do with the reason we asked you guys here on such short notice.” tashi said setting her wine glass down. “we’re trying for a baby and would like to know if art would wanna be our donor.” you blurted out not being able to take the suspension. art let out a sound of surprise before looking over at patrick the two of them now having their own silent conversation. it’s time like these where you wish you could read minds. “you can of course say no.” you added softly playing with the ends of the blanket hanging over your shoulders while tashi’s own hand squeezes your thigh. art downed the rest of his wine signaling for patrick to refill it. “first off congratulations you guys will be great mothers.” you and tashi give him small smiles. “i’m surprised you would even consider me for something thing like this but i’d be honored to be your donor.” you don’t know when tear stated forming in your eyes but they finally fall and tashi is pulling you into her arms pressing kisses on the side of your face. “we’re gonna be uncles!” patrick beats his hands rhythmically one the table and you can’t contain the happy sobs that break through.
after art was cleared with your doctor his sperm count being high and health all he had to do was jizz in a cup, a process patrick was more than happy to help with. you had to wait for yours and tashi’s cycles to sync before the transfer could happen and when it did the days after that felt like everything was moving in slow motion. “we’ll take the test tonight, i’ll bring home two.” tashi said standing next to her car. she was on her way to practice. “ok” you whispered. tashi kissed you wanting to take all your worry away. “everything’s gonna be ok.” she rested her forehead against yours. you nodded giving her one last kiss before letting her drive away.
getting work done that day was nearly impossible all day long you constantly watch the clock waiting till tashi gets back with the pregnancy test. you were standing in front of the mirror hands moving over your flat stomach when you heard the front door open. tashi appeared in the bathroom door way a plastic bag in hand drink in the other. “ready to drink your weight in sunny d?” you couldn’t help but giggle at the reference. you and tashi sat with your backs against the tub staring at the two test on the counter. the loud ringing from your phones timer rips through the room. two minutes was up. “do you wanna flip it or should i?” and for the first time since starting this process you heard the nervousness laced in tashi’s voice. “you can.” you whispered back. tashi took a deep breath before turning over the test. you couldn’t see anything so the gasp tashi let out could be either good or bad. “oh my god.” her voice was breathy. “what tashi? what is it, what does say.” your heartbeat picking up. then tashi turned around showing you the test and right there big and bold was the word PREGNANT. “we’re gonna be mommies!” tashi grabbed your face kissing you but you were still in a daze not believing you were actually pregnant like a baby was growing inside you at that very moment. “we’re gonna be mommies.” you whispered eyes welling up. “we’re having a baby and we’re gonna be mommies.” you said louder jumping up and down smiling as happy tears slipped down yours and tashi’s face. tashi’s laughs mix perfectly with yours as you guys dance around in the bathroom. “you know i love you so much.” you threw your arms around tashi. “i think i already beat you too that.” she kisses your nose.
the two of you decided to wait till you were out of the first trimester to tell people. you told both your parents first then art and patrick. you were mentally prepared for the morning sickness and sore boobs that came with pregnancy but what caught you off guard was how horny you got. “come on tashi please we can be quick.” kissing under her jaw. “we have an appointment love. can’t you wait til after.” you really really couldn’t. “need you now.” your pout and puppy eyes and the whiney please you gave tashi had her on her knees face in between your legs.
“ready to find out the sex?” the doctor looks over to you and tashi. there was an on going bet about wether it was gonna be a boy or girl everyone was convinced it’d be a boy. “it’s a girl.” the doctor announced. you laugh “i knew it.” you stare at the screen the showed the baby inside you moving around.
the rest of your pregnancy was smooth, tashi absolutely doted on you, messaging your feet, bringing you whatever late night craving you got but the closer you got to your due the more she stuck to your side. “i just wanna be there when your water breaks.” but she wasn’t there. she had left you at your parents house to go on a grocery store run when it broke. “uh, mom i think my water just broke.” the look on your mothers face would have made you laugh but the contractions were causing you to wince in pain. the whole ride to the hospital was filled with your mom yelling at your dad to drive faster.
it felt like you were in the hospital room for hours. your voice turning raw from screaming, tashi’s hand slowly losing feeling from how hard you were squeezing it but still she made sure to tell you how good you were doing. after a few really good pushed a loud high pitched cry could be heard throughout the room. you daughter was finally born. you strained your neck trying get a look at her while the nurses cleaned her up. “congratulations she’s beautiful.” a tiny baby girl was placed in your arms. happy tears fell from yours and tashi’s eyes. “she’s so small.” tashi whispered her finger lightly stroking your daughters red cheek. “hi lily.” you greeted her when she opened her eyes for the first time, her big brown eyes catching yours.
(cheesed so much while writing this.)

MWRMI PART 8
Tumblr media
Week 4 Part 2 - The Hero Con! 👾
Summary: Y/N goes to the Hero con with her favorite hero by her side. Jirou wants to have “THE talk.” Midoriya can’t hide his feelings anymore and almost makes a “mistake.” Kacchan is done with Deku’s shenanigans.
Warnings: Swear words, a little bit of jealousy, disgusting amount of fluff!
First Part Master List
~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
“It’s finished!” You jump up excitedly after sitting in one place for several hours so you can finish your last commission right before midnight; now that your weekly work is done you’ll be able to enjoy the convention and spend your hard earned money on Deku merch.
Also, pro hero Deku will have a signing booth, you can’t wait to meet him in person and tell him how much you love him!
Actually, scratch that, you’ll grow some balls and ask him for a picture together. Yeah.
But wait…
You live with pro hero Deku.
He’s literally sitting on the sofa in the living room, watching an old All Might movie, waiting for you to cuddle up next to him as you always do.
Maybe you should just stay home. The tickets were extremely expensive this year and you literally know everyone you want to meet in person by now. The tickets are also refundable so it won’t be a problem to get your money back.
“What made you frown like that, sweet pea?” Midoriya places a hand on your shoulders, making you jump; when did he come over?! He was watching a movie just a second ago!
“I just realized how much money I spent on the tickets when I can see you guys any time for free. Sometimes, I forget I live with pro hero Deku.” You sigh, looking up at your favorite hero. He’s wearing an old All Might shirt and he looks absolute adorable as always. His hair is really messy, he probably forgot to comb it again. You really like this side of him, the one who doesn’t care about appearances, you really have no idea why you payed so much money to see him in a hero costume when you prefer him this way anyway.
The hero smiles at you, making your insides turn upside down at how fond and loving his smile is.
“Well, there will be an exclusive interview with me and Dynamight. Then there’ll be a lot of cool booths with fan-made comics…”
“Doujinshi.”
“That, yeah.” He nods. “Then… well… I’ll be there looking cute and sexy.”
“You are always cute and sexy.” You mumble with a pout, not convinced. Midoriya blushes and looks away while biting his lips… oh damn, this should be illegal. You’ll never be able to forget this face. You really need to take a cold shower. Like, now.
“Also, I would like you to be there… with me.” He murmurs, touching your hands for a second before pulling away. “I actually wanted to ask you if you would like to come to work with me? Be my helper for the day? You can get a refund on your tickets but come anyway. We both win.”
If this is how Midoriya’s face looks like when he’s asking someone to help him you don’t want to know how he would look like when asking a girl on a date. His face is about to explode, bless his little cute ass. Now it makes sense why the hero is still single.
“Will I get a backstage pass and everything?” You perk up, your eyes shining with excitement. “Can I get a staff discount on your merch?!”
“You can have all my merch for free anyway. Just tell me what you want and you’ll have it.” He smiles, patting your head fondly. You probably look like an absolute fangirl right now, but to be fair, that’s literally what you are and Midoriya knows that.
“OH MY GOD I’M SO EXCITED I’M GOING TO CRY MIDORIYA, THANK YOU!” You yell into the poor guys face who only laughs at your late night shenanigans. “Oh my god, I won’t be able to sleep tonight. Ahh, we should head to bed. We need to wake up early. Ahh, can it be tomorrow already?”
Y/N.exe has stopped working.
“You literally just said you won’t be able to sleep, are you okay?” Midoriya giggles.
“Do I look okay to you?! I’m having a crisis!”
“You are so bloody adorable.” Midoriya rolls his eyes but pushes you towards the bathroom. “Go and brush your teeth then go to bed. Come and see me before getting ready so I can tell you the plan. We need to get out of the house by 8.”
“Roger that, boss!” You run into the bathroom and close the door just to scream into a towel, like a real, mature adult.
You can’t wait for tomorrow. This will be the best day of your life.
~•🥦•~
Needless to say, you didn’t sleep too much but not even the lack of sleep can ruin your excitement; you are going to a convention… with the main star of the convention.
Like, what the fuck is your life, honestly.
Midoriya is already up, making his favorite fancy coffee in an oversized shirt and underwear. You try your best not to look… well, that’s a lie, you do look. His shirt is hiding almost everything anyway. Damn, those tights could kill a person.
“I hope this is not the outfit for the convention, have some decency.”
Midoriya jumps at your voice; he was clearly in his own little head, trusting the safety of his own house enough to not be aware of his surroundings. He looks over at your clothing; your pro hero Deku pajama shorts with a random, old t-shirt; nothing special, really; and grins widely.
“Well I hope this isn’t your convention attire either, I kinda want to be in peace, not chasing random horny dudes away from you every five minutes.” Midoriya fucking winks and you freeze; your heart will definitely explode if he keeps this up. You’ll never be able to come out of your room in these pajamas, ever again.
“Well, maybe I want to be praised by random dudes?” You snap back jokingly but the greenette’s eyes visibly darken by your words; his mouth twitches once then twice before his expression evens out to a normal one.
“I would prefer you not to flirt on the job.” He smiles, like he didn’t just try to kill you with his eyes just a second ago. What the heck was that about? “Oh, talking about our attire, I have something for you!” The green haired hero perks up and runs into his room to give you a neatly folded clothing item in a greenish color. When you open it up, you almost burst out crying. It’s Deku’s famous first hero costume; It has more patches than original fabric, it’s well-loved and definitely well-used, a lot smaller than the hero in front of you.
“But isn’t this supposed to be in the hero museum?” You ask, a little bit confused.
“The one in the museum is the first official one made by UA. This was my first ever hero uniform, my mom got it made for me when I got in. She tried her best to patch it up every single day but after a while I had to get a more durable one. It’s not suitable for fighting villains but it’s still wearable.” Midoriya smiles and you can’t even hide the happy tears trailing down your cheeks. “I want you to wear it today, Y/N.”
That’s it. This is how you die. You are incapable of saying anything so you just jump into the hero’s arms, hoping your feelings will come through the embrace without the need for words. Midoriya’s arms snake around your waist, pulling your body close, squeezing relentlessly; there is a hint of possessiveness in his movements but you definitely don’t mind; the feeling of being needed runs through your veins as you squeeze back with the same fervor, unsaid words swirling around you like tiny butterflies on a warm spring day.
“We should probably get ready.” Midoriya murmurs into your ears, his voice traveling through your body, leaving goosebumps in their wake; he says that but he pulls you closer, not letting you go yet. After a few seconds his hold loosens and you slowly get out of his embrace; you already miss the warmth around your waist but you know this isn’t the last time you get a hug from him so you skip to your room to change into the most valuable piece of clothing you’ve ever had your hands on.
For your surprise, it fits perfectly.
~•🥦•~
“Do I look cool enough, Number One?” You come out of your room in Deku’s costume; one half of the mask piece was missing; or to be exact, it was blown away, probably; so you had to play around to make it stay on your head, but you made it work; you did a dark, greenish make up to make the whole look pop and if that’s not enough, you topped the whole make up look with some fake freckles. You had some extensions in pine green color sitting in your drawer, so you popped those in and curled them together with your real hair, ending up looking like a female version of Deku. The suit is a tiny bit tight in the chest area as it wasn’t made to be worn by girls, but it’s really not that bad all together.
Your words are met with absolute silence, the only sound in the room is the sound of Midoriya swallowing hard. He looks a bit constipated but you decide not to make a joke out of it as he looks like he’s about to pass out.
“Wow. I really didn’t think it will look this good on you. You look stunning, Y/N.” Midoriya swallows hard again and runs back into his room. “Wait for me by the door, I’m just gonna grab my bag.” He wheezes, out of breath. You are a bit concerned for the well-being of your roomie right now but it’s probably just the stress, so you decide to wait patiently by the door for him. Your phone vibrates in your pocket so you quickly take a look.
— Deku’s daycare! —
Pikachu: Y/N’s wearing Deku’s old costume to the convention today, apparently she looks really fucking hot.
Pikachu: Oh fuck, wrong chat.
*Kacchan sugoi blocked Pikachu.*
Glasses 👓 : Ignore him Y/N, Zuku would never say such a lewd thing. He probably just said you look really lovely. I can’t wait to meet you today.
Kirishima: To be fair, he genuinely said “lovely” in our group chat with Katsuki!
Piggy 🐷: He probably messaged him by accident, everyone knows not to trust Denki with secrets.
Freeloader: I will make sure to remember that, Mina! I can’t wait to meet you, Iida-kun!
“Ahh, sorry, I was just messaging Kacchan.” Deku scratches the back of his head shyly. “Let’s go, Y/N.”
~•🥦•~
“I can’t believe I’m backstage!” You mumble as you take in the sight in front of you: staff members running around with random boxes full of merch while there’s a sound check happening on the main stage. You look out to the main area to see hundreds of vendors putting out their arts and comics, hanging up banners and talkers to promote their work. The backstage area is full of heroes, flexing in their fancy hero costumes, getting ready for their interviews and signing sessions. Jirou locks her eyes with you and comes over; Deku leaves your side after leaving a kiss on the top of your head, making you a flushed mess with his affectionate deeds.
“Hey bestie… can we talk?” Jirou smiles but by the look in her eyes, it’s something serious. You nod silently as she leads you to an empty room on the side of the massive backstage area; it’s filled with cleaning products and other necessities nicely lined up on the massive shelves. “You know I don’t beat around the bush so… what’s up with you two?” Jirou asks, her voice full of worry. “Whatever it is, I won’t be mad I’m just surprised you didn’t tell me anything.”
“Because there’s nothing to tell.” You sigh. “We are really close. I like him. A lot. I don’t think that surprises you.” You giggle with a sad look on your face; Jirou knows how much of a fanatic you are, there is no reason to hide it.
“No, it does.” Jirou speaks up. “Because we are talking about Zuku, not pro hero Deku here. I see how you look at him, Y/N. That’s not fanatism and you know that.” She reprimands while you try your best to hide behind the shelving system. “But that’s not what bothers me. Not at all. What bothers me is that Zuku gave you his most treasured hero costume to wear on a fucking convention. He likes you enough to do that.”
You really don’t understand what’s going on.
“I don’t see how is that a problem. We like each other. He’s a touchy-feely person who loves to make people smile. That’s all.”
Jirou rolls her eyes aggressively at your words.
“Yes, he likes to hug people but he doesn’t kiss them, especially not in front of the whole staff. But that’s not my problem. My problem is that I’m terrified you are going to get hurt. Seeing your loved ones after a fight is…”
“He came home drenched in his own blood enough times already, Kyou. I know what I’m getting into. Also, he doesn’t think about me that way so don’t worry.” You answer with your voice strained due to the stress. You really don’t understand this conversation.
“Y/N, you are so fucking oblivious I swear to god!“ Jirou yells. “Nevermind, just talk to me. Please. I want you to know I’m here for you if you ever need to talk about this. That’s all I wanted to say. This needs to be extremely overwhelming for you.”
“Thank you, I’ll message you more often. But if you’ll continue treating me like a fragile little quirkless girl…” your voice gets louder as the sentence goes but someone stops you in the middle of the sentence.
“Hey, hey, don’t fight.” Red Riot steps between you two like you can actually cause harm to the hero in front of you. “Y/N, I know this must be a lot for you but this is how we are. We are nosy and way too protective. We also talked to Deku about this the other day. We just want to make sure you two are okay. Not everyone is as good with this whole thing as you are, Y/N.” Kirishima looks at you with a sad smile, clearly knowing what he’s talking about. For your surprise, Jirou giggles.
“We weren’t fighting honey, we just both got a bit too protective.” She smiles and Kirishima nods, leaving without another word. That was weird.
“So what’s his baggage?” You giggle at your friend, the heated argument long forgotten.
“Girl, he lives with Katsuki. That’s enough of a baggage as it is.” She says with a fond smile on her face.
“Sorry for being so sensitive about this. You are right, it’s a lot. And it’s really hard not to love him more than I probably should. And to be honest… I do… love him… more. Duh.” You laugh self-deprecatingly, almost whispering while tears pool in your eyes. Jirou snakes her arms around you and whispers back.
“I would like to be concerned, but the way he looks at you right now, hiding being the door all concerned, I don’t think there will be a problem.”
“Oh my god, do you think he heard what I just said?!” You freak out, not even realizing the meaning of her last words.
“No, he didn’t, don’t freak out.” She laughs out loudly. “Come in, you nosy fuck, it’s not manly to eavesdrop!” Jirou mixes Katsuki’s and Eijirou’s style of talking perfectly which makes you laugh.
“Eijirou said there is an argument and I…” Midoriya stutters as he comes closer, ashamed of himself.
“Yeah, you are concerned, we get it.” Jirou rolls her eyes, looking at you two with a knowing face.
“Actually, I wanted to thank you… for introducing us. I’ll make sure she never gets hurt because of my job and…”
“… and I’m invited to your wedding.” Jirou finishes his sentence with a straight face.
“Yeah, of course you are!” Midoriya jumps in, then pales completely. “Wait, what?!”
“Nice one, Headphones!” Katsuki comes through the door, giving your friend a high five.
“I can’t believe I’m friends with you assholes!” Midoriya whines with a bright red blush on his face.
“You love us.” Jirou taps Deku’s shoulders to soothe the overwhelmed hero.
“I really do.”
Well, you’ve definitely have learnt one thing today; privacy is not a thing in this friend group.
~•🥦•~
While the heroes get ready for their panels you look around at the convention for a bit; you already bought a handmade Deku plushie, a few limited edition hero figurines only available at this convention and you also managed to get your hands on the next volume of the My Hero Academia manga; it started as a fan project but ended up to be a big hit, supported by the whole hero scene; it’s a manga about the history of the current top heroes, it shows their past UA life and also gives the reader a glint into the biggest war of the past decade. After the first volume, Horikoshi-sensei managed to get noticed by all the heroes who were more than happy to give him all the information he needed to keep the story as realistic as possible. The newest volume is officially coming out in a few weeks time but it’s available for purchase on this convention way before its official release. You can’t wait to sit down and read it.
After a bag full of random shit you definitely don’t need you make your way back to your flatmate, who’s just about to start his signing session in one of the booths. You barely make it inside before people start asking for pictures; apparently Midoriya isn’t the only one who thinks your cosplay is amazing.
“Oh my god, you are so cute, what the heck!” A younger guy, around 18, comes over to you with a massive smile on his face. “Can I have a photo?” He asks shyly and you oblige; but for some reason, the poor fella freezes in one place as he stares towards the stage. “Actually, it’s fine, I just wanted to tell you how much I like your style.” He continues staring, so you look the same direction; Midoriya stares at the two of you, black whip dancing around him aggressively as he stops signing a fan’s poster midway. “Is there a reason why is my favorite hero trying to assassinate me with his eyes?” The boy wonders, clearly shaking.
“He’s probably looking at something else. Let’s take that picture, okay?” You smile at the boy who takes a selfie happily and moves into the queue to get his own signature. You make your way over to the glaring greenette with a scolding look.
“Midoriya….” You stop by his side, giving him a sharpie as he managed to break the one in his hand, god knows how. “What was that about?”
Midoriya looks up at you with his signature puppy eyes between signing two posters, topped up with a little smile.
“You told me it’s okay to want things. I wanted you to stop talking to that guy and give me a new sharpie.” He says like it’s the most normal thing in the world to kill a person with his eyes.
You sigh, letting the hero off the hook for the sake of the signing and you are just about to move away when he grabs your hand under the table. He doesn’t say a word nor looks at you, he just keeps holding your hand while he signs with the other. He eventually lets you go when some people ask for pictures and you use the freedom to hide behind the backstage door where you are still visible for Midoriya but hidden from everyone else. He looks at you with a sad smile and turns back to the fans with a long sigh.
“Is he being weird again?” You jump from the sudden voice behind you; it’s Kaminari.
“Really weird.” You murmur, leaving the backstage to help at the merch booth as the poor guys are clearly swarmed up there. Quite a lot of people end up asking for a picture with you after their purchase went through at the tills and you also get a bunch of compliments for your amazing cosplay; you feel content and happy, even though you can feel Midoriya’s eyes on you the whole time.
“Are you Deku’s girlfriend?” A younger girl asks and you can’t help but blush at the question.
“Oh, no, not at all, I’m just helping! He’s… a great friend of mine.” You try to smile, but everyone can see how uncomfortable you are. The other staff members giggle at the awkwardness and ask the young girl to move away and let other people buy their stuff too. You let out a long breath and keep smiling at the customers, getting more and more tired as the time goes by; you get stuck at the tills until the end of the day, only being able to leave when the convention finally shuts it’s doors.
Midoriya comes over to you as you put the few leftover merch into a box to be taken back to the DC.
“Tired?” He smiles, while helping you pack. The rest of the staff members freeze from the sight of the pro hero but continue to do their assigned jobs.
“Definitely. I’m so ready to fall asleep on the sofa while stuffing my face with the fancy mochi I just bought.” You sigh, finishing up. “By the way, don’t do that.” You say quickly, trying to avoid eye contact.
“What?” Midoriya looks at you with questioning eyes.
“That. Staring holes into my skull. You don’t need to do that, I can take care of myself. I’m quirkless, not an idiot.” You sigh, a tiny bit offended.
“You misunderstand. It’s not because of that. I…” Midoriya stutters, making the other staff members stop working completely to be able to listen in. “Let’s talk about this at home, okay?” He says, pointing at the staff members with his eyes.
“I’m so sorry!” You mumble, but he just puts his hands on your shoulders and pulls you close.
“Can I have her back now? You guys can finish this, right?” You can’t see Midoriya’s smile but you can feel it in the way he talks. The staff members murmur a quiet “yes” as he takes your hand and starts pulling you towards the backstage. “Thank you guys for today, take whatever you want from the leftover box!” Midoriya says while taking 2 oversized shirts out of the box. “Matching PJs?” He winks at you, leaving the whole team dumbfounded by his words. You don’t have time to answer as the hero pulls you into the backstage area to take his backpack and say goodbye to everyone then moves towards the exit as quick as he can. “I’m so ready to sit on the sofa for the rest of the day, I swear this is more tiring than fighting villains.”
You don’t say anything back just giggle to yourself at Midoriya’s grumpy mood; it’s a new side of him, one even more adorable than all the others; he grumbles in a really cute way, his eyes squished together like a child throwing a tantrum. You squeeze his hand reassuringly as he pulls you towards the nearest taxi, hiding his face in the crook of your neck as soon as you both sit down.
~•🥦•~
“Can I have some?” Midoriya looks at you while you two snuggle on the sofa. You are watching a Crimson Riot movie in your new, matching pjs. The hero decided to wear it with nothing with boxers but thankfully, you are both under a massive blanket so you can’t see it. You can feel it though, which is probably worse and definitely way past the friendzone, but to be honest you don’t really feel like moving away.
“You want me to share my limited edition Deku mochi with you?” You look at him incredulously, keeping the box out of his reach.
“I am literally the reason this mochi exist, sweet pea!” The hero tries to reach again, ending up in your lap, taking the box from you as you freeze from the sudden closeness.
“You don’t get any until you say sorry for this afternoon.” You mumble with a flushed face, looking everywhere but at the hero in front of you. Midoriya decides this is a good enough sitting place and places his butt down right next to you without moving his legs; one of them stays sprawled out on your lap, skin touching skin.
Why can’t he sit like a normal person. Why.
“You are mad. Like, mad mad.” He mopes, looking like a 5 year old who didn’t get a present from Santa this year.
“I am! You scared that poor boy! He was literally shaking when he got to you! Your naked, absolutely gorgeous tights are also on my lap and I can’t focus on the scolding, so can you move them, please?!” You almost screech by the end of your sentence, hiding your rapidly darkening face with your arms.
“Oh, they are heavy, ain’t they.” He mumbles while he nods and moves back to his side properly.
That’s really not the problem you sexy idiot - you want to say, but you keep your thoughts to yourself.
“I’m sorry… I just…” he starts to ramble again, but this time, he doesn’t stop. “I saw him touching you and looking at you with those heart eyes and … I have no idea why is this happening to me Y/N, but every time I think about someone doing stuff like that with you, it makes me so furious I want to demolish them. I am really not an aggressive person but for some weird reason, I can’t control my anger when it comes to these situations. I’ll get better. You are your own person, you have all the rights to flirt, to fall in love and…” Midoriya’s full face is scrunched into a frown by the end of his monologue.
“You are right, I am my own person and I have all the rights to flirt and fall in love.” You repeat, making him bite his lower lip aggressively to ground himself. “But I won’t. I can’t. I don’t want to. Right now.” This time, you are the one who hides her face in his neck to calm down. As always, he smells amazing.
I can’t give my heart to someone but because you’ve already taken it - you want to say. But you don’t.
Midoriya presses a kiss on the top of your head while his hands get lost in your hair again; he massages your scalp soothingly while he says his next words.
“Just give me some time and I’ll be able to let you go.”
The sentence sounds familiar but you have no idea why; you are quite sure you’ve never heard him say anything like this before. Your heart squeezes at the words, leaving you an absolute mess as you mumble into his neck.
“I hope you need a lot of fucking time cuz I ain’t wanna go anywhere.” You mumble into his curls. “I want to stay here forever.”
Jesus, what are you even talking about?! This is pro hero Deku goddamnit!! You are nothing but a really lucky fangirl, nothing more, nothing less. You have no right to…
“Deal. Let’s stay like this. Forever. I don’t need anyone else either.” He smiles with tears in his eyes. “I never thought I’ll ever have this, whatever this is, and I don’t need anything else. Not now, not later.” Midoriya moves you up by your chin and rests his forehead against yours. By the way your heart is beating, you are probably about to die. “Y/N, will you be my roommate forever?” Midoriya whispers but you can’t make a proper answer so you decide to nod instead. The hero smiles and leaves a kiss right next your lips; your breath hitches for a second before he moves back to his starting position, like nothing had happened in the first place.
“You okay? You look really pale. Do you want to go to sleep, sweet pea?” He asks but you keep staring into space with no thoughts swirling in your dead brain…………….
“Yeah, I’m sleepy. Really sleepy.” You stand up and move towards your room without brushing your teeth. Disgusting, but if you need to stay in the same room with this idiot for another second you might combust.
“I’ll go too. It’s not fun without you.” He smiles.
You close the door behind you, then you belly flap on the bed to scream into your pillow.
Needless to say, you won’t sleep a wink tonight, nor the night after. You’ll never sleep again.

Lovesick Idiot (Zuku): I almost kissed her on the lips.
Ei: Accidentally?
Lovesick Idiot (Zuku): Yes. No. I don’t know??!
Kacchan: Just fuck already.
Lovesick Idiot (Zuku): You are not helping, Kacchan!
Kacchan: You can’t be helped. Now let us sleep.
Ei: Ignore him. So was it an accident?
Lovesick Idiot (Zuku): No.
Ei: Did she move away?
Lovesick Idiot (Zuku): No.
Ei: Why didn’t you kiss her then?!
Lovesick idiot (Zuku): She doesn’t see me that way.
Ei: …
Ei: Katsuki was right. Let us sleep. Good night.
*Kacchan changed Midoriya’s name to “Helpless, oblivious fuck”.

Y/N: Is it platonic when your roommate gets all protective over you and asks you to to be his roomie forever then he kisses you right next to your lips?
Jirou: Are you fucking kidding me, Y/N?!
Y/N: I know, I’m stupid, but a girl can dream…
Jirou: You two will be the death of me I swear to god. I think you just gave me a brain aneurysm.
Y/N: …

Izu-Izu: Y\N, are you sleeping?
Y/N: Yes.

Potato ramble:
- How to ask someone to be your girlfriend without saying “be my girlfriend”, am I right? How long will you two dance around each other? Honestly, I hope it’s long as I really don’t want to finish this series 😂😂😂😂
- Btw, I’m writing week 6 right now and you are not ready for that shit. The amount of stuff Midoriya gets away with even thought you two are not in a relationship is a little bit concerning at this point. 😂
- Weekly shopping obsessed potato ramble: so this week… I bought a Todoroki figurine and 2 funkos. Send help. It’s a funny story though! So I was on my last 15 min break at work, which is a street away from my fav geek store. They posted about the new My Hero Funkos and I literally sprinted down in my work uniform and headset to get a Todoroki and a Shinsou. I arrived all sweaty and panting and they all laughed at me, then my boss also laughed when I came back with a bag full of funkos. 😂
- I’m really broke now. Hopefully, there won’t be a shopaholic potato section next week. XD
- I also need to get a new shelf as I’m out of space. I need help.

If I Should Stay
Part 1 | . . . | Part 42 | Part 43 | Part 44
They do eventually get their waffles. Steve had brought her to his favorite diner, even though it’s a little farther away, and the payoff is almost immediate. El gets a waffle the size of her face that’s absolutely smothered in whipped cream and chocolate chips. She digs in with a ferocity that almost scares Steve as he tucks into his own breakfast-for-dinner.
A sudden thought occurs to him, and he leans in to speak to El. “El?”
She looks up at him, eyebrows raised, cheeks puffed like a chipmunk. He chuckles. “Maybe try taking smaller bites. Your waffle’s not gonna run away.” He grins when she swallows and grins at him. “I’m gonna call the house real quick. D’you wanna stay here, or come with me?” He points to the phone tucked into the corner of the diner, in clear view of their booth.
She twists her napkin in her hands, then almost nervously looks at him. “With you?”
“Okay,” he agrees easily. “D’you wanna talk to anyone?”
She shakes her head. “I just wanna stay by you.”
“That’s okay,” Steve promises her. “Ready?”
She nods, and together they stand, moving towards the phone.
He dials the number and waits, widening his eyes comically at El until she giggles.
The phone goes to voicemail, which he expected, so he sing-songs into the receiver, “Hello, it’s me, Robbie, pick up please!”
“Steve!” She gasps after a click and a cacophony of noises that has him wincing and pulling the phone away from his ear a little. El giggles again at that. “Where the hell have you been?”
“Practicing with El at the junkyard. Now we’re getting waffles at Jackie’s.”
Robin groans, and he grins. “Steve! You traitor! That’s my favorite!”
“Robin.”
“Yeah?”
“You’re being dramatic.”
She gasps. Dramatically. “I am reacting appropriately to something of this magnitude, Steven!” She hisses, but she can’t hide the smile in her voice. God, Steve loves her so much.
“We’re okay, Robs,” he says quietly, like somehow it’ll say everything he wants to.
Based on the way she gets quiet, too, Steve thinks she knows exactly what he means. “I’m glad.”
“We’re gonna finish eating then go practice a little more. We’ll be home after that, before sundown. Promise.”
“I’m holding you to that. I will find your nailbat and bring it if I have to.”
“Jokes on you,” he says, “I already have it.”
“Fine, then I’ll bring Nancy and her guns,” Robin responds. “And probably Wayne. The guy’s really cool. And he can shoot.”
Steve chuckles. “How’s he holding up?”
Robin sighs. “About as well as can be expected. Better, actually, I think. I think maybe at this point he’s seen so much shit that nothing surprises him anymore.”
Steve snorts. “I know how that feels.”
She hums, distracted. “Sure,” she says, then addresses Steve. “Alli wants to talk to you.”
“Okay.”
“Hey, Bubba,” comes next, and he’s smiling before he realizes it.
“Hey, Al. How’re you feeling?”
“Fine. Terrified. Pissed off. Ready to tear him apart with my bare hands.”
“I think if we’d had you last time, we would’ve won.”
“Oh, definitely,” she says flippantly. “Listen, Bubba, can I offer you some advice?”
“Sure.”
“You and Eddie. Whatever you are, whatever you want to be. Don’t wait, okay? Say something. Tonight, preferably. Just- we’re all gonna make it, I know we are. But I don’t want you to regret not saying something when you could’ve.”
Steve’s heart clenches, and he tugs El in gently to envelop her in a one-armed hug. “Yeah,” he murmurs. “I will. Promise.”
“M’kay. Love you, Bubba. Be safe.”
“Love you. I will.”
The line goes dead, and he places the phone back on the hook.
“Steve?” He looks down at her. “Are you okay?”
He chuckles roughly. “Ask me again tomorrow, kiddo.”
They finish their food—El cleans her plate so thoroughly Steve is convinced she must’ve snuck away to wash it, and tells her so, resulting in another giggle—and head back out to the junkyard. “We don’t have much time,” he tells her as he parks again. “I told Robin we’d be home before dark. But this should be enough time to practice a little more. Whatever you felt earlier, whatever was in your chest keeping you company. Try to find it again, and draw from it, okay?”
“Okay,” she murmurs, looking out over the cars again.
He looks, too, and thinks he sees something, but by the time his eyes pan over the spot again, it just looks like a car. He plays it off as nerves and a trick of the setting sun and does his best to relax, so he’s not interrupting El at all.
He keeps his eyes peeled, and contemplates grabbing his bat from the trunk, but ultimately decides against it. He doesn’t think the demodogs would come out during the day.
Suddenly a demodog jumps on top of a car in front of them, and another appears to their left as two appear to their right, and Steve has time to think, famous last words, before it all goes to shit.

Chapter Two: To Blüdhaven
Boxes piled high by the front door of Kathy’s apartment usually would’ve made her sad, but these boxes signaled a warmer beginning and not an end. She tightened her scarf as she dusted the mantle and ceiling fan, standing on a stepping stool to complete her task. “You’re in good spirits this morning,” her male roommate smiled. He kissed her cheek and sat at the piano, warming up before playing Raindrops by Clifford Borg. “Moving day is upon us!”
Kathy grinned and stepped down. “Daniel, I made lunch for the movers… Do you think that’s a bit much?” Kathy questioned.
“Oh no… Everyone makes paper bag lunches for movers,” Daniel teased her. She stuck her tongue out at him. “You’re a doll, Katherine. They’ll love it. You make the most beautiful lunches. If only you’d do it for yourself. What’s on your mind, Mummy?”
“I won’t be his mother… He probably has a mother out there somewhere,” Kathy mumbled. Daniel walked over and wrapped his arms around her.
“You’ll be his mother in the meantime… And who knows? He might choose you even after he remembers,” Daniel smiled, “How’s he been?”
Kathy frowned, freeing herself from his comforting embrace to move boxes from the bedroom to the living room. “He’s always crying when I see him… And my supervisor isn’t there all the time to look out for him. I didn’t want to say anything because—.”
“You didn’t want to think about it because we can’t speed up the moving date… Katherine… I’m sorry—.”
“You didn’t know. The move to Blüdhaven should be a good thing, though. Shouldn’t it?” Kathy questioned.
“You worry too much—.”
“No, but what if he’s from Gotham and—. Maybe I’ll drive him out every weekend to take him on walks through the city,” said Kathy. Daniel took a large box from her, setting it aside.
“The house in Blüdhaven is more accessible and much larger than anything we’d get here,” Daniel replied, “And Gotham isn’t the safest place for a kid like him. Blüdhaven isn’t much safer, but hey… Maybe the schools are better.”
“School! Oh, god, Daniel… I have a meeting with his school tomorrow—.”
“You rescheduled for Monday… Remember?” Daniel whispered. Kathy relaxed, pressing her forehead into Daniel’s shoulder.
“Daniel, has anyone ever told you how important you are?” Kathy asked.
“Only from you, which means Lover and I have to talk,” Daniel half-joked. Kathy’s nose crinkled as she closed-eye smiled at him. Daniel kissed her cheek. They lugged the remaining boxes to the truck, and Daniel opened the car door for her.
“I’m so nervous. Are you nervous?” Kathy questioned.
Daniel gestured for Kathy to calm down, taking two hands with his palms facing down the length of his chest. “Breathe, Katherine. It’ll be alright soon. Once he’s with us, you’ll be fine. You’ve been that way since we were children,” Daniel questioned. The sun peeked through the clouds as a gust of wind blew past, rustling through the trees. The sky looked yellowish grey, painted by the smoke of the nearby factory.
“I won’t miss the sulfur smell. I know that,” Daniel whispered. Kathy chuckled and nodded, trying to mask the persisting anxiety that buzzed beneath her skin. She slipped her shaking hands under her legs. “It’ll be nice to have a little fellow around.”
“He’s not so little anymore. I don’t think he’s realized that yet. A lot of time passed while he was comatose. He’s getting his balance back. His glasses have helped a lot,” Kathy replied.
Daniel glanced at her as he followed the moving truck. Daniel popped a CD in and drummed on the dashboard. “Dodie called last night. I think he’s ready to talk about everything,” Daniel whispered. Kathy tensed.
“Did we mess up, Daniel?” Kathy asked.
“No, I think we were good parents… But—. I think it’ll take a while for it to sink in that we lied to protect him. This is a long drive, Katherine… You should call him. Let’s talk to him,” Daniel replied. Kathy nodded and frowned. “Together.”
Kathy dialed the number, and let it ring twice before Dodie answered. “Hi, Ma,” Dodie mumbled.
“Are you busy Dodie? I—. Dodie, I’m sorry, honey,” Kathy apologized.
“Ma, I was mad at both of—. Is Dad there?” Dodie questioned.
“I’m here, Dodie. Hi, Kiddo,” Daniel answered.
“Good… Because I kinda owe you guys an apology. I know coming out to me was a big deal. I just—. No matter what was going on, you guys always put me first. I can’t begin to imagine what it was like for either of you. I guess I was upset because I felt like I never got the real Mom and Dad. I don’t know. I—. We all would’ve been different if you guys told me earlier.
“Maybe—. I—. There’s so much I don’t know. How did I even—? I don’t—. Do I even want to know?” Dodie asked.
“We were young, and we were curious. We realized almost immediately afterward that we’d mistaken our friendship for romance. We tried to move on, and we decided to keep pretending to be a couple. It seemed easier than coming out… And—.”
“I told Daniel I was pregnant. We knew what we wanted to do. There was no question. We knew we’d love you… And to this day, you’re a testament to our friendship and how much we do love each other. Nothing has to change, Dodie,” Kathy added.
“Well… Everything is a little different. Aren’t you guys dating people now?” Dodie questioned.
“Well… Yes,” Daniel answered.
“I want to meet them,” Dodie sternly replied.
“Okay… Well, Walter’s in Blüdhaven. We won’t be there for a few hours but the house is pretty close to yours,” Daniel announced, “If you stop by and tell him who you are, he’ll let you in. I don’t when Sibyl—. Katherine, honey, when is Sibyl coming?”
“Oh… Um, she’s coming tonight. She’s done all the grocery shopping, so I’ll be able to make dinner. Oh! Dodie, sweetheart, can you stay for dinner?” Kathy replied. Dodie made a soft noise. “Dinner. Let’s do dinner. It’ll be good. We can all—. We can talk. You know about the little guy from the hospital? He’s coming home soon.”
“I’ll stay for dinner, Ma. I can’t stay over because I have work tomorrow morning, but I’d—. I’d like that… And I can take the day off with you to pick up the kid if you want me to,” Dodie offered.
Daniel tapped her arm and nodded. “Oh, Dodie, that’s so sweet. I’d love that. I’m picking him up on Sunday. Can you do Sunday?” Kathy asked.
“I can do Sunday. And Ma? Dad? I love you no matter what. You’re my parents, and I can’t stay mad at either of you. I want you to be happy if that counts for anything. I’m sorry I blew up when you guys came out,” Dodie apologized.
“We—.”
“We—.” Kathy laughed and touched Daniel’s arm.
“We love you, Dodie,” Daniel grinned. Kathy made a soft noise. She unwrapped a sandwich in her lunch box and held it up to Daniel’s mouth. He took a bite. Their intimacies outlasted their sham relationship. Things that were once pretend persisted as a declaration of love transcendent of romance while devoid of attraction. Their intimacy was platonic and unending.

so like I made an element post several months ago and. found it today (because I don’t post much right now lol) and was thinking about it so I tried making a chart of how I think elements might be related
Tumblr media
I didn’t put the new elements in the “tree” simply because. I think it’d render this entirely irrelevant by the time part 2 comes out. and. I have zero clue how to sort them Ngl.
(Tbh I was very torn on whether to just do elements in general or elements by like elemental masters. Because. the two are very different for me. So I did do an alternative version but I scrapped it cuz it made no sense and I didn’t like it but I’ll show it at the end)
The lines just show there’s some relation between them. Sometimes elements can control eachother, sometimes only one can control the other, etc.
LORE DUMP UNDER THE READ MORE!!!
basically I think that the elements existed in ninjago BEFORE the FSM came into existence. If there was an ocean there has to be a sea floor. If there was a storm there has to be lightning, so on and so forth. The elements always existed and have always been intrinsic parts of ninjago. This might also apply to some of the other realms, specifically the first realm probably also abides by this. Since several native species in ninjago have elemental traits plus. Wojira. it’s probably always been present to some degree, just not usually in humans. So while the original elemental masters of creation may have gotten their powers from the FSM, the elements themselves exist in a lot of places and have always been present in the realm. In fact I think a lot of the “secondary” elemental masters probably got it from the environment somehow like the way water and wind ems seem to have gotten it from wojira (? Tbh I don’t remember much of seabound since I never rewatched it and that part of the lore had tons of plotholes iirc so it was really hard for me to follow)
Gravity, light and time are the most “overarching” elements because they mainly define a lot of the basic principles of the world and so without those elements the others can’t really exist. Especially gravity. Time and gravity are related since time is affected by gravity.
Mind and amber are sort of their own things. Amber is manmade (apparently??? I think I read the comic but I don’t know if it’s still considered canon and I forgot most of it lol ) so it isn’t actually related to any other element even if you would sort of think it was.
mind is really confusing because it’s not really a physical thing or related to any sort of foundational law or… anything, really. It’s just very isolated from the other elements and not really. Connected to any of them. So tbh I’m just gonna shove it with amber in the weird squad.
Also here’s the original list that was based around origins. I think it looks cleaner but it definitely makes a lot less sense.
Tumblr media
I mostly scrapped it bc I didn’t like the placements of gravity and stuff or the fact that a lot of related elements weren’t depicted that at.
Sooo yeah that’s the elements chart ig !!! I’ll probably add image descriptions tomorrow I’m too tired
also excuse my extremely poor handwriting

I was looking through the archive of my blog and I used to draw more and post more about my life. Unsure if I will post as much as I used to but here’s a couple things
Working on a short comic (8 pages). It’s thumbnailed. Will probably give it another pass tomorrow. I want it done by the 30th so I can show my advisor and ask what’s good/needs work etc
Working on a fandom charm. Lilienne from Disco Elysium. Hoping… maybe in the next month?
Working on redesigning my alien species from my sci-fi world. I don’t think I can do like proper spec bio but I want to make them at least weirder you know
Need to design business cards. I’ll be at Thought Bubble (just as an attendee) but I’m trying to get more professional

SPOILER ALERT! This Q&A contains spoilers for Season 2 of Loki.
Season 2 of Marvel Studios’ Loki expands upon the inner workings of the Time Variance Authority, where the God of Mischief has been working tirelessly to save, well, all of time.
That includes introducing new characters, like Ke Huy Quan‘s Ouroboros. As the TVA’s dedicated handyman, everything inside the institution was either created by him or is currently maintained by him. When Loki and Mobius enter his workshop, they become his first visitors in 400 years.
Little do they know, Ouroboros is an integral part of their quest to prevent the branches of time from overloading the Temporal Loom.
Following the end of the actors strike and on the heels of the Loki Season 2 finale, Quan spoke with Deadline about joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, his character Ouroboros, and his own full circle career moment.
DEADLINE: It’s so great to get to talk with you about Loki. You haven’t really been able to talk about your role, due to the actors strike. What have you been waiting to say?
KE HUY QUAN: When I decided to become an actor again, [being part of the MCU] was at the top of my wishlist…They all welcomed me with wide open arms, and I was so happy. I was patiently waiting for the show to come out so we can go and celebrate it and tell the fans. Then, of course, the strike happened. I just want to tell everybody how proud of the show I am. How happy I am with it. And working with Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, the entire Loki family has just been incredible. We made this last year in London. I was there for four months, my wife and I were there. It was one of the best four months of my life. I’ve done a few shows before, and this was the first time where I didn’t want it to end. I was so happy. In fact, I’ll tell you this. We were scheduled for reshoots this February, and I was waiting. My wife and I were looking forward to spending more time in London and with our Loki family. And all of a sudden we were told, ‘Oh, we don’t need any reshoots. It’s all good.’ I was kind of disappointed. I was actually disappointed that we didn’t get to go back because of how much fun we had… So we made history. We make history two times. One is the first series of Marvel getting a second season and the second is the first time a Marvel show didn’t have any reshoots. I’m so proud of that.
DEADLINE: It is quite a feat to not have any reshoots. So that was probably one of the few times you were excited for reshoots.
QUAN: A lot of times actors dread doing reshoots, because you have to go back. You have to get back into character. But for this, I was really happy. I was looking forward to it. It’s so ironic, because the more I wanted to do, it’s like, ‘Oh, we don’t need it.’ But this is a testament to how great the show is and to how great a Leader Tom Hiddleston is. Working with him has been incredible. It was such a masterclass on how to be a great actor, a great leader, and most importantly, a great human being. He is so kind and humble.
DEADLINE: When you first read the script, what did you think of your character, Ouroboros? What were you hoping you could bring to him?
QUAN: Well, first of all, when I read the script, I instantly fell in love with Ouroboros. It was so well defined on the pages, and I can see him right away. This character was not based on comic books, so it was created by our showrunner Kevin Wright and our head writer Eric Martin… I instantly wanted to play him. And I remember this was at a time when Everything, Everywhere All At Once had just came out. It was paying only in New York and in Los Angeles. My agent said, ‘You’re gonna get a call from Kevin Feige tomorrow.’ Now you have to understand, when I became an actor again, joining the MCU was at the top of my wishlist. I was so excited and I said, ‘Could this be it?’ I was driving. I picked up the phone. And on the other end I hear, ‘Hi Ke. This is Kevin Feige.’ He went on to talk about how much he loved our movie and how much he loved my performance. Then finally he says, ‘Ke we would love for you to join the MCU family.’ I was driving at that time. I start tearing up, and I couldn’t see the road anymore. I said, ‘Kevin, can you give me two seconds?’ I pulled the car over, put it in park and I said, ‘Please continue.’ He says, ‘We have this great character for you, Ouroboros. I really love him, and I think you will be perfect to play him.’ He told me about Loki. He told me about the MCU. He spoke [with] so much passion and enthusiasm in his voice. It brought me back to the day when I met him for the very first time on the X-Men set when he was just an associate producer, and I was an assistant action choreographer…He loves this universe so much. He has such a vast knowledge of this universe. And little did I know only 23 years later, I get to work with him. I get to play a wonderful character.
DEADLINE: I’m glad you mentioned that. It is quite the full circle moment.
QUAN: You know, that’s why I love the name Ouroboros. It’s s a snake eating its own tail. I had a wonderful time working with Kevin on set. It was at a time where I didn’t think I would ever step in front of the camera again. It was also the time where I questioned whether I would have a career working behind the camera. It was when I just graduated from USC film school. I didn’t know what I was going to do. I knew I didn’t want to leave this industry. I love it so much. So to be able to do that and to come back again in front of the camera… I’m very fortunate.
DEADLINE: Your comedic timing is so spot on in Loki. I’m thinking of the scene where Ouroboros manages to recreate the Tempad after 19 months and losing his wife. What’s the secret to nailing a scene like that?
QUAN: I don’t think much about it. I gotta credit Kevin Wright and Eric Martin. They really beautifully created this character Ouroboros. The dialogue, when I was reading for the first time, I laughed out loud, because he’s so quirky. He’s so weird and funny. Yet, if you think about it, who is this guy that’s working in the basement of the TVA for more than 400 years with no friends? No interaction with anybody. His only encounter was with Mobius when he got lost. Yet he still takes his job so seriously and so passionately. It has a lot to do with the beautiful dialogue that they came up with.
DEADLINE: Do you think O.B. stays in the basement for another 400 years or will be venturing out more often?
QUAN: When you get a taste of what friendships feel like… Loki is addicted to that. So I’m sure O.B. will be as well. When you don’t have it, you don’t know what you’re missing. But once you have it, you keep going after it. So I would assume that O.B. would periodically, when he’s not too busy, he would go up the elevator and go say hi to Casey and B-15 And just to mingle with Mobius, because he loves Mobius.
DEADLINE: What scene are you most proud of?
QUAN: I love Episode One, that scene when he’s talking to Mobius in the present and Loki in the past. That is so creative… It’s so is so well written. It’s so funny.
DEADLINE: How did you feel when you read the script for the finale?
QUAN: I was blown away, because I didn’t see that coming. It’s so beautiful and so poetic. When you have a character who wants to be on the throne all his life, and he finally gets to be on it. But he can never leave. He made the ultimate sacrifice…To me, Loki is the ultimate hero because he made the sacrifice without recognition. Nobody knows he did this, except the team. No one in the Sacred Timeline is going to ever know that. If we’re lucky in life, we would have people like that with us. The unsung heroes.
Loki is streaming on Disney+.

A couple of replies today, and let’s hope that I’ll finish a hc post tomorrow 💪😔 Sorry to everyone who’s been waiting for very long…
Anonymous asked:
Is that Floyd’s way of winning the game?
(this is about this comic!)
Probably… maybe this is why Jade and Azul don’t want to play with him :( Well, Firefly Squid senpai is much better anyway~
Anonymous asked:
you know, have you ever seen a mushroom diagram? if not tl;dr it looks like a certain thing you'd shove up your ass, and butt plug functional, my favorite! just curious, would jade ever want to have some fun and shove one of his precious mushrooms up Idia's ass? mushrooms as in plural because he can fit more than one in there, of course. also begs the question if he would purposely pick mushrooms which gives effects simply by skin contact to make his ass so unbearable itchy he'd beg for jade to shove his pillar inside lolol
I probably should have replied to this one yesterday when I was replying to the rest of this bunch of Jade-related asks, technically it’s the same theme, oops!
First of all, you are absolutely right, and there is no way it didn’t also occur to Jade. And since he is so good at recognising different types of mushrooms, he definitely knows the ones that are perfect girth-wise and are hard enough to use effectively… and which ones aren’t good in terms of these aspects, but great for other purposes, i.e. shoving them into Idia’s ass to make him see galaxies and feel the tingles.
The itch though!! This is just cruel, but also very true to Jade. Idia shouldn’t worry, the pillar will scratch every itch that the pillar’s owner induced himself…
characharing asked:
hi, to the jade anon, i've seen a fic where Jade steals the reader who has a crush on Floyd! tbh i do prefer Floyd, he's adorable and i like crushing hugs that glue my bones back to my flesh, but Jade deserves better (another good fic with Jade i saw was the one where the reader begins to hear thoughts, Jade is super adorable in that one, he's trying so hard to get his cute pearl uwu tbh i took those two fics as propaganda so now i write my own with cute Jade propaganda)
i can drop the names if not found, don't give up on letting Jade be your first male lead! Land (heh) that eel boy!
There you go, some more Jade appreciation from people lol I can’t really add anything to this one, but I’ll post it… right after the cursed reply about shoving mushroom in different places 😔 Regular occurrence in this establishment.

Our Strange Duet
Chapter 6: Nightmare
Fandom: Red Hood
Pairing: Jason Todd x f!reader
Warnings: some violence, Bruce Wayne is a terrible father
Summary: YN tells Jason about Bruce and Jason goes on patrol
Taglist: @deans-spinster-witch @amberpanda99
Notes: just because 2 anons asked this, yes, I'm not a big fan of Bruce Wayne or Batman, BUT I don't hate him as much as this story suggests, it's just for the narrative I need him to suck this much (and depending on which comic continuity you're reading, he does suck this much sometimes)
Will someone care? Will I wake tomorrow from this nightmare? - Rent
Jason moved aside, letting YN into the apartment.  Dick was chugging water, nearly spitting it out when he saw her and her bags.  She put them down by the door and moved to Jason, throwing her arms around him, hugging him tight.  She whispered something that Dick couldn’t hear, and Jason gripped her back, both of them just holding each other, ignoring the rest of the world.  Dick felt his heart pang in his chest.  Giant Jason, still something Dick couldn’t get used to, hugging this shorter girl, clearly gripping her tight but yet still being gentle, engulfing her until she was nearly one with him, and she was gripping him back just the same.  He was glad to see his little brother find someone that he could be like this with.  He needed someone more than his brother or his therapist, he needed someone to love him as he was now, without the baggage of his past.  YN seemed to be it.
“Love you Jason,” YN whispered to him, making him loosen his grip a little to pull back and look at her.  “I’m sorry about barging in like this…”
“You are always welcome here, with me, anywhere with me,” he said.  “So why did you leave the apartment?”  She sighed and he led her to the couch, sitting down with her, not letting go of her hand.  Dick took a seat on the chair nearby.
“I lied to you about what was paying for the apartment.  I really thought it was all Maroni and honestly, I felt ashamed to accept any money from him, but it was before we had met again and I didn’t have anywhere to go so I figured I would keep the place until I could get a job and afford something else,” she explained.  Jason’s grip tightened on her hand at the thought of her lying to him and she looked down.  “I could handle Maroni doing it, he probably owes so much in child support, and he listened when I told him not to contact me again, so what if he paid for my place for a while?  He owes me.  But Bruce?  He doesn’t owe me anything, he owes you and trying to use me to get to you?  That’s despicable.  And he had the place bugged so that he could hear use talking.  He told me when I went to see him that it wasn’t supposed to be me.  You were supposed to find out about the donor and then go marching to Wayne manor and I don’t know, fight him?  Thank him?” she finished her ramble and sat back, head falling to look at the ceiling.
“I’m going to call him,” Dick mumbled.  Jason shook his head, pulling back from YN.  He knew it was petty, but she had lied to him, everyone lied to him sooner or later.
“No, don’t, don’t bother,” Jason said.  He moved to grab his gear.  “I’ll be back, need to patrol tonight, big drug deal happening in Crime Alley.”  He looked at them both, barely making eye contact with YN.  “Maybe I’ll find the Batman while I’m at it, handle this myself.”  Dick got up but Jason shook his head.  “Take a night off Nightwing, see if your crime lab contact has information about that drug that Maroni is circulating.  I’ll see if I can get some samples of the actual drug tonight.  YN, whenever you want to get some sleep go ahead a use my bed I’ll stay on the couch when I get back.”
“Ok,” she whispered, the barely veiled hurt in her voice piercing through him, but then her voice saying ‘I lied to you’ came flooding into his mind and he just walked out the door without looking back.
“I really messed up, didn’t I?” YN said as she and Dick sat at the table.  He had made truly horrible lasagna for dinner, so they were eating frozen pizza as the smoke slowly dissipated from the room.  He nodded slowly and she looked down, forehead meeting the table.
“He will understand after thinking about it.  I mean, you had just met again, you had already been living in that place for months and you never really knew who was paying for it.  Not like you sought Maroni out for confirmation,” he said.  “It’s just…”
“Jason doesn’t trust easily and its incredibly easy to break his trust,” she finished, sitting back up.  Dick nodded.  “I still can’t believe Bruce would do something like this, all of this cloak and dagger shit just because he is scared of talking to his son.”
“I’m not that surprised by all this.  When me and Bruce first fought, he used Jason to draw me out, pull me back in,” he said.  She looked at him, shocked.  “O you didn’t know?  Me and Bruce fought about me wanting to be something different than what he had made me.  I wanted to be more ruthless, I didn’t care so much about saving the bad guys, not like Bruce.  I left and a year later he’s got another Robin, a kid around the same age I was when he took me after my parents’ deaths.  He didn’t contact me, had Robin do it.  And I, unlike Jason, felt right into Bruce’s trap.  Not only did I fall right back into the family, but I even lightened up, tried to be a good role model for him.  Then Jason killed that drug dealer…”
“He killed someone as Robin?” YN asked, making Dick look at her as if he had forgotten she was there.  He nodded, eyes a little glazed over with the memory.
“He doesn’t know that he killed him.  They were fighting on a roof, Jason had chased him up there after finding not only a pile of drugs in his apartment, but also a photo album full of children…” he shivered, and YN made a disgusted face.  “So, Jason was livid, that rage he gets from the pit, it was always there inside of him, the pit just makes it come out easier, but it was always there.  That night he used it, kicked that asshole right off the roof.  Bruce was climbing the side of the building, trying to get to him before anything happened, the body fell right passed him to the ground.  I was there on the ground, just arriving from another bust up and found it.  Bruce took Jason back to the manor and laid into him, telling him he was lucky that the guy wasn’t dead.  Then Jason said, ‘I wish he was, people like that shouldn’t get to live’ and that was when Bruce gave up, I think.  Even though Jason didn’t die for another six months, that moment there was when he died for Bruce.”
“What a pile of shit, he just gives up on his kids whenever they decide not to be like him?” YN said.  Dick nodded.  “I don’t like that Jason kills people either, but I have to see him kill someone who didn’t deserve it and a guy who clearly is abusing kids deserves it.  How late will Jason be out do you think?  I want to talk to him.”
“I wouldn’t expect him back, he will probably go to a safe house by the school and get ready there before going to class,” Dick said.  YN sighed and stood up from the table, starting to clear it.  “Don’t do that, you’re a guest.”  She stopped, looking at him.  “You’re not going anywhere, are you?  I might as well accept that you’ve moved in?”
“No, I will find someplace, I just don’t know when, but I promise I’m not going to be a freeloader, let me do anything around here.  I can cook and clean and I’ll pay you whenever I can…” she rambled.  Dick walked over and put his hands on her shoulders.
“YN, calm down, you are family, and despite what we learned from Bruce we don’t abandon family,” he said.  She nodded and hugged him for a second.  He patted her back before he let her clear the dishes, cleaning up his dead lasagna.
Jason did as he said, busting up the drug deal, and getting a sample of the new drug before the cops arrived to clear out the rest.  He stowed it away before heading into Old Gotham.  Batman would be patrolling around there that night.  Jason had kept up with what Batman and the new Robin did, always wanting to avoid them.  But today he sought Bruce out.  He wanted to draw him out fine.  But this was it, he would be done after this.  He wasn’t Dick, he didn’t care that Bruce had another kid under his wing, whenever Robin figured out that Batman wasn’t his friend or his dad then Jason would find him.  He could join the new family, the Robins Who Need Their Own Arkham club.  He soon found his prize, watching the Bat fight a few gangsters in an alleyway near the Iceberg Lounge.  Once he was finished Jason threw one of his Red Hood batarangs, making sure it soared right in front of Batman’s face.  Batman looked up and Jason walked away, going further onto the roof.
“Knew you would find me eventually,” Batman said from behind him.  Jason turned slowly, hands settling on his guns.  He knew that the armor was bullet proof, but his bullets would still hurt like hell.
“I shouldn’t be the one arranging this meeting,” he said back.  He felt the rage in him, but he put a cork on it, bottling it until he needed it.  “I only came to say this, don’t go near her again.  Don’t ever do anything for her again.  Don’t contact her again, in any way.”
“She came to me,” he answered.  Jason felt the cork loosen, one of his guns in his hand now.  Bruce looked at his hand and then back at the helmet.
“She did that to rid herself of you, now let her be done,” he said, the voice modulator not quite catching the menace in his voice.  The longer he stood there the more the rage threatened to spill over.
“What about you?  Do you want rid of me?  Or are you going to come back, and we can talk?” Batman asked.  “Jason…”  That was it, his name, in that voice, he was gone.  The cork flew, releasing all the rage.  Jason was firing, Batman was dodging until he was on the edge of the roof.  Jason came running at him, tackling him over the side.  They were falling but, in that moment, Jason didn’t care, let him die again, he wanted to take Bruce with him.  Of course, that wasn’t what happened, Batman deployed the grappling hook and went up, letting Jason keep falling.  It was only a story, but still enough that when Jason landed, he heard the snap in his ankle, rolling and hissing as he nearly bit his tongue off trying not to scream.  He looked up to see Batman watching him for a moment before disappearing.  He opened his comms.
               “Nightwing?  I need help.”
“I’m coming Red Hood, what do you need?”

Guess ‘hot goddamn mess’ is your type then (Got Weird - dodie)
Firstprince? Please? 😁
Jamie thanks for the prompt - this one was fun :)
Henry is sitting by himself in the corner of yet another party Pez drug him to when he sees Alex across the room, which is no surprise. It’s inevitable that when they’re in the same room, his eyes will find Alex. Something about him lures Henry in, and he can’t resist the lingering looks he knows will someday be discovered by someone he’d rather not. Luckily, Pez is the one to stumble upon him almost literally, as he seems to be well on this way, quite sloshed.
“What are you doing in the corner, Haz? Are you not here to finally have some fun? You’ve been so boring and pining lately.”
“I am not pining,”
“But, you admit to the boring thing?”
“Compared to you, my friend, everyone is boring,” Henry replies, still looking across the room where Alex stands, surrounded by other members of the lacrosse team. That’s part of the reason Henry stays on his side of the room, for a lax bro, someone like Henry would be boring, not that Alex seems to be the typical lax bro. Henry sees Pez follow his line of sight and sees the moment he figures out who he’s looking at. They watch as Alex is bumped, and the drink in his hand is spilled down the front of his shirt.
Pez turns back to him with a shit-eating grin, So I guess ‘hot goddamn mess’ is your type then. Maybe you should take this opportunity to help him out with that mess he seems to be wearing now, help him out of that soiled shirt. Perhaps even offer him the one off your own back. “
“Yes, you’re absolutely hilarious. Make fun of me and my silly crush.” Henry, no longer paying attention across the room, doesn’t realize that Alex has almost made it to their side of the room until he looks up and sees Alex grabbing the roll of paper towels off the counter by where they sit.
“A silly crush?” Henry wants to fall through the floor where he stands or meld into the wall behind him when he hears Alex ask the question. “Surely, anyone you have a crush on would return those feelings.”
Pez beats Henry to reply, which is probably good, as his tongue feels tangled in his mouth. “Alexander, it sucks to see that shirt of yours so thoroughly drenched. Can you use some assistance?”
“Hey, Pez, no, thanks, I’m good; it looks worse than it is, I think.” When Alex turns to him, Henry feels the breath catch in his throat, and the smile Alex sends his way makes his heart soar; he really has become the character in one of the romance novels he loves to read. Of course, those always work out, but he’s not so sure his situation will. He stops himself from getting lost down yet another trail of consciousness but realizes when he sees both Pez and Alex looking at him expectantly that he wasn’t quite quick enough for that.
“I’m sorry. Did I miss something?” The grin Pez gives him makes him nervous, more than he’ll willingly admit. He makes the mistake of looking into Alex’s eyes and nearly gets lost in the caramel pools, which seem as if they hold the secrets to the universe and so much mirth. Henry isn’t sure how anyone can be that happy.
“Our dear Alexander here was just asking what you were doing tomorrow?”
Alex’s head turns toward Pez, and the look of shock on his face is almost comical, “Um … not sure that’s what I said, but I guess … it’s probably what I was heading toward.” Alex runs his hand through his hair in a way that seems to be nervous. Henry’s not sure what Alex could possibly have to be nervous about.
“I’ll be studying in the library since someone decided they needed to drag me out tonight. I have a table I usually use —”
“In the back corner on the second floor. Yeah, I know where it is; if you’re all right with it, I’ll join you there tomorrow.” Alex looks down at the wet shirt still clinging to him, “I should probably do something about this. I’ll see you tomorrow, Henry. Later, Pez.” He does this salute with his fingers that should be anything but adorable, but Henry can’t help but find it just that.
After Alex is out of sight, Pez leans in and whispers, “Now, don’t blow it, or well, maybe you can blow him. He looks like he’d be great fun in bed. I expect to hear all the details. Now I’m off, as I’m sure you’re going to be heading off to dwell on how your study date will go.”
Pez is out of sight before Henry can rebuke the accusation or even counter that it’s not a study date, just two people studying. At least, he thinks that’s what it is. Maybe he needs to go home and think about his after all.

“You’re a princess?”
“I mean, technically? I don’t really like to talk about it much.”
“But how did Casey know?”
Y/n hesitates. “I…Don’t know. I don’t think I’ve told anyone besides you.” She admits softly, her eyes trained on her nails as they pick away at her cuticles.
It’s silent for a while, and she glances up nervously to check on Leo’s stunned figure. His lips are pursed, exhaling steadily with eyes of acceptance. “Huh.” He says after a while, leaning against the wall next to her.
He looks back up with a small smile. “And I’m the first one you told?”
She nods.
Hey, lovebirds! We could really use some help over here!” Raph yells across the room at the two. She starts slightly, accidentally making eye contact with Leo before ducking her head, feeling a gentle heat on her cheeks.
“Coming!” She walks off, Leo following suit. He can’t stop the smile that’s stuck to his lips.
She told him first. He’s the first one to know more about her.
The thought makes him euphoric, helping y/n pick up scattered comic books on the floor, the pages drenched from her earlier actions. “So, how does it work where you’re from? Y’know, the whole princess thing?”
Y/n looks up in surprise, not expecting him to ask more about her background. She pauses, trying to explain it as best she can. “I’m the niece of the Northern Water Tribe’s chief. I’m just a princess in name, though. It wasn’t made official.”
“Why not?”
She stiffens, looking away from him. “Some stuff….happened. I mean, it’s not that important since I ended up going with Aang, Sokka, and Katara.” She brushes over it, though the slight tinge of sorrow in her voice only serves to pique his curiosity.
He hums. “In that case, do we have to refer to you by your title now, princess?” He jokes, but his teasing smile falters when she looks up at him with wide eyes and a beautiful flush on her cheeks, making part of him want to tease her more if only to see that same expression again.
“I-I mean, you don’t have to. It’s just a formality thing.” Her voice fades into an almost shy whisper, averting her gaze and focusing on arranging the wet comic books on the floor. His cheeks blossom with a soft pink matching hers, mirroring her actions. His hand brushes against hers, both flinching and drawing their hands to their chests as if they had been burnt.
“What’s going on here?”
She clears her throat, standing back up with a quick shake of her head. Raph watches them both with a playful smile, his hands crossed and ignoring Leo’s flustered glare. Neither responds to Raph, y/n focusing on bending all the water out of the pages and leaving them dry again.
Mikey whoops happily, scooping them up into his arms with a gleeful grin. “Thanks!!” He scurries back into his room with comic books in tow, ready to stash them away in fear of another incident like earlier happening.
“Anyway,” her attention is back on Raph, who regards them both with a skeptical gaze, “don’t you gotta go home for school tomorrow, Pipsqueak?”
We’re on nickname terms now?
This makes her grin, glad that she’s been acknowledged by him. The reminder makes her pause, looking around the more or less dry lair. “What about April and Casey?”
“I’ll walk her-”
“I’ll walk her back.”
Donnie interrupts Casey with a hostile glare, making the boy quirk a brow at the turtle’s odd behaviour. “Sure… See you tomorrow then, Red. Princess.” Casey shrugs, turning to head out the way he followed Raph.
“Oh, would you look at that! It seems that y/n doesn’t have anyone to walk her home. I gotta do…stuff, and so does Mikey.” Raph rubs the back of his neck with probably the worst acting y/n’s ever seen, though she does chuckle at the effort.
“We do?” Mikey shuts up when Raph glares at him, pouting at how mean his brother is. “I guess we do.”
“But April and I live together-”
“Actually, I have something to discuss with Master Splinter. You go on ahead first, y/n.” April grins mischievously, patting y/n’s shoulder with an encouraging nod.
“I’d be glad to accompany you.” Leo offers with a roll of his eyes at how obvious everyone is being, taking the hint. She nods with a warm smile, walking past the turnstiles with him.
“Shall we, princess?” He asks, holding his hand out to her with a charming grin. She’s about to take it, but a hot flash of pain rips through her head, the familiar line making her wince.
“Shall we, princess?”  Jet holds out his hand to her with a teasing grin, undeterred by the hostile scowl sent his way by the very girl he’s called out to.
“Jet. Nice to see you again.” Her eyes are narrowed into a glare, hands clenching into fists. Just in case, though, she bends a stream of water out of the buckets beside her, steadying herself in case he attacked. After what happened, she couldn’t trust him. Not anymore.
“Calm down,” He chuckles, hands lifted up in surrender. “I’m here to talk.”
“Does that talk include trying to drown another innocent village?” She scoffs, the hairs on her neck bristling when he takes a step forward. “Don’t,” She warns, the water bubbling as it begins to heat up from the rapidly growing anger in her heart.
“I’m here to help. For real this time, I promise.”
“We both know what your ‘promises’ are worth.”
“Not this time. Please. Just hear me out. It’s about your parents.”
Her breath hitches in her chest, eyes widening before she swallows a bitter lump in her throat. “What do you mean?”
“I promise it’ll be worth your time. I don’t have the gang with me anymore; all I want to do is talk.” She eyes his outstretched hand with doubt, but her curiosity ultimately wins. She lets the water drop to her feet, splashing onto the dry floor without soaking her dress in the slightest.
“Fine. I’ll hear you out. But one wrong move, and you’ll be frozen for the next five years before you know it.”
She expects him to flinch. Instead, his lips curve into a playful grin, reminiscent of the day they met. Heat crept across her cheeks, tinging the tips of her ears with a rosy pink before looking away with a huff and crossed arms. Damn, those good looks of his.
He holds out his hand, waiting for her to take it. “It’s good to see you again, princess. I missed you.”
“You can leave now!” Raph calls out from a short distance, and she’s instantly brought back to the present. She looks up at Leo’s eyes filled with nothing but warmth and kindness for her. Her stomach turns, her hand about to brush his before she snatches it back. She swallows, unable to bring herself to look him in the eyes.
“Yeah, let’s go.” She mumbles, brushing past him in a hurry. He hesitates, eyes filled with mild hurt at the cold way she rejects his hand. He follows suit, missing the wince on April’s face as she watches them leave.
“Should I tell her that tomorrow’s Saturday?”
— — — —
Y/n runs across the rooftops, the cold breeze whistling past her ears soothing her somewhat. Her heart is heavy, but the sensation of practically flying across the rooftops is freeing.
She barely registers Leo following along, having slowed his usual pace for her. She appreciates the thought, her steps slowing so they walk side by side. His curious gaze unnerves her slightly, still unable to bring herself to meet his innocent eyes that hold so much worry, and so many questions.
“So, how’s school life going for you?”
“It’s going good, I suppose. I introduced the history of the avatar and the war to my classmates.”
“You what?”
“I know, April told me not to do it again. Not even about the frog talk too.” She replies grumpily, crossing her arms with a huff.
Leo’s bemused by her words, every single sentence of hers still catching him off guard. Just when he thought it couldn’t get any more baffling, she always managed to surprise him.
His gaze softens, watching her kick a stray pebble. She’s so endearing, he thinks with a chuckle.
“About earlier,” He sees her stiffen slightly, probably thinking about how he’d address her rejecting his hand. “What’s it like being a princess?”
“It was…” She pauses, looking out at the city. He stands beside her, waiting patiently for her reply. “Isolating.” She finally says after a few moments, lips pursed. The silence from Leo spurs her to continue, his reassuring presence encouraging her to speak more freely.
“When I was little, my parents left me with my uncle. He was the chief of our tribe, and it was one last favour he did for my parents before they left. That’s where I met Yue.” She recalls peeking out from behind her father’s legs with a timid smile, meeting her cousin for the first time.
“Yue and I were close growing up. We played dolls together and studied together. We were like sisters. But as we grew up, it became more and more apparent that she was of higher status. She’s the direct daughter of the chief, while I’m just his niece. I wasn’t mistreated, just less…included.”
“What about your royal duties? Did you knight any knights? Dance at balls? Have a coronation?”
“What are knights?”
“Y’know, like, warriors who wear armour and wield swords? They’re loyal to their kingdom and their kingdom alone? You have to knight them with a sword? They swear all loyalty to the princess?”
“I don’t think we have those,” Her eyes shine with humour, smiling at his amusing reply. At first, she thought he was describing himself, what with the swords and all. He had mimicked a ‘knight’s’ actions, dramatically holding out his katanas. She had to hide a giggle at that.
“That’s a shame. I think being a knight would’ve been pretty cool. Why’d you choose to follow them, though?”
His question makes her hesitate, glancing up at him. “There was no more reason to stay.” If she had, Yue’s betrothed would’ve only gone to her. She’d forever be a replacement for her cousin.
But no one could ever replace Yue.
It’s silent for a while, both settling into comfortable silence.
“I’m tired of losing people.”
The loaded statement that slips past her lips is weary, with pure exhaustion laced in every single word. She’s too tired to realize how it sounds, her true feelings bubbling to the surface.
“It must’ve been hard.”
His single reply comes instantly, his words nothing but heartfelt. She doesn’t realize that her eyes have already started tearing up until her vision becomes blurry. She blinks, the tears sliding down her cheeks. She feels something soft brush against her skin, slowly registering a green finger brushing off her tears with a gentle smile.
“It’ll be okay.” Leo promises. “We’ll get you home.”
She sniffles, allowing herself to melt into his touch with a tiny sigh. “Thank you.”
“For now, though, let’s get you home.” Leo chuckles, letting his hand drop to his side after her tears stop flowing. She manages a nod, the both of them starting a slow jog with a shared smile.
Something’s off.
She glances around; brows furrowed in confusion, when she doesn’t spot anyone else. She could’ve sworn they were being watched. The prickling sensation that ruffles her nerves isn’t easing; her gut twists and tugs slightly in a particular direction.
“Something wrong?” Leo asks, curious as to why she’s suddenly on high alert. He didn’t sense anything. But then again, y/n had slightly keener instincts than any of them did.
“Just…felt like we were being watched,” She murmurs uneasily, rubbing her arm in discomfort. She didn’t like the sensation, reminding her too much of the days when they were busy being hunted down by Zuko.
“I don’t see anyone around. Maybe you’re a little tired from earlier.” Leo suggests, the skin above his eyes creasing in worry. “You should get some rest.”
“Maybe,” she still can’t brush it off but continues to jog back to the apartment building. The feeling fades after a while, the tension leaving her body. She unlocks the window, sliding it up. Leo watches from the fire escape, the close proximity making her stiffen slightly.
“Well, goodnight.”
“Goodnight, princess.” He says, the nickname filled with fondness. A breathy laugh falls from her lips, still flustered when he calls her with such affection. She climbs into the room, pausing before gesturing for him to come closer.
His eyes widen slightly in intrigue, taking a step and leaning in. She gestures for him to come closer still, as if she’s about to tell him a secret.
“Thanks for keeping me safe, my knight.” She whispers, brushing her lips gently against his cheek.
He’s frozen.
She leans back with a heavy blush on her cheeks, her neck hot. She slides the window shut, clearing her throat. She watches him take a step back, climbing back up the fire escape with jerky movements and a blush that matches hers.
“Wow.”
Y/n yelps at the sudden voice, stumbling back and almost falling onto the ground. She grabs onto the chair nearby in time, looking up wide-eyed to see both April and Donnie in the doorway, stunned into silence.
“I mean…wow.” Donnie can’t help but be impressed by y/n’s boldness, April lifting her hands to clap slowly, eyes filled with awe. ”Wow,” She agrees.
 “Y-you saw that?”
What was she even asking? Of course, they saw it based on their reactions. She groans, holding her head in her hands. She could never recover from this.
“That’s it. I’m banishing myself from all interactions.” She mutters, brushing past them both and into the kitchen to make some tea to calm herself down. April doesn’t stop the slow claps, sharing a mischievous grin with Donnie.
“We’re so gonna bring it up around them, right?”
“Without a doubt.”
— — — —
She can’t sleep. Y/n turns and shifts in her spot on the shared bed, freezing when she hears April mumble a sound of protest. She sits up with a sigh, moving to exit through the window and heading up the fire escape to the rooftop.
She’s barefooted, standing on the cold, dirty ground that no one bothers to clean. She takes a moment to sit on the ledge, looking up at the night sky. Her heart is heavy, recalling just moments ago when she had so daringly pressed a soft kiss against Leo’s cheek.
Her heart hammers in her chest like a hummingbird’s melodious thrums, except she’s sure that hers is faster and much louder. How had she been so bold?
Did she even deserve to have the right to feel this way again? After what happened with Jet, it's hard to believe so.
A weary sigh leaves her lips, looking down at her calloused hands with regret starting to fill the emptiness that makes itself known. The silence is deafening, almost too much for her to bear.
Jet.
She hadn’t remembered that name in a while. After everything she’s been through in this dimension, it’s easy to let the name of one’s first love slip their mind. With fighting aliens, discovering mutagen, and befriending a girl with psychic powers, it’s hard to believe that she isn’t just in a fever dream.
Who knows, though? Maybe it really is, and she’d wake up to Katara nagging at her to wake up for another of Aang’s pranks that she’d been a victim of. Sokka would snort at her, and she’d bend a stream of water to soak him in response.
She pinches her hand, wincing at the sharp pain. She huffs out a sad laugh. What had she expected?
It’s not a dream.
“So princess, you gonna come with me or what?”
“Shut it, Jet. I don’t trust you.” Y/n huffs, following Jet with a cautious gaze.
“I really have changed, y’know.” Jet turns to face her with a sorrowful smile she almost falls for, her eyes softening before the reminder of what he did to the innocent village makes her sober up.
“People don’t change so easily.”
“I’ll prove it to you, princess. I promise.”
“Don’t call me that.”
“Why?” He sounds genuinely surprised, and y/n crosses her arms defensively. The both of them are in an alleyway, with no one else around. She glances behind her, wondering if she should just make a run for it and forget this all ever happened.
“Because you don’t have the right to. Not anymore. Not after what you did to me. To us.”
What had they been, anyway? A couple of teenagers with a mutual crush on each other? That’s all they were. And safe to say, hers had burned out as soon as he endangered her friends.
“Y/n…” He hesitates, his hand falling to his side. “I’m sorry.”
It’s sincere, but she can barely bring herself to look him in the eyes. “I’ll believe it when I see it.”
He nods resignedly, continuing to trek forward. “Where are we going, anyway?” She asks, staying a wary distance from him.
“Your parents are here. In Ba Sing Se.”
“What?”
It’s as if the breath is knocked out of her with that statement alone, disbelief tinging her voice. “That can’t be.”
“It’s true, princess.”
“Don’t lie to me!”
“I’m not, princess. They’re only a few houses down. Please.” Jet holds his hand out to her, but she’s hesitant to take it. It couldn’t be. Everything she’s built up to protect herself from her parents abandoning her is crumbling in her hands. She can’t let herself believe it. It’s easier for her to think that they’re dead.
“I can’t.”
“Why not?”
“Because,” She hesitates, the painful lump in her throat and tightness in her chest scaring her more than anything she’s faced so far, “I’ll know for sure that they really abandoned me.”
Once the words leave her lips, she feels herself crumble to pieces, dropping to her knees as her eyes sting with tears. She feels his warm arm wrap around her back, holding her against his chest. The warmth brings her painful comfort, allowing the tears to spill over. They wet his shirt, but his hold around her only tightens. She clutches his shirt, crumpling the fabric in her hands as she hiccups through her sobs.
It’s as if she’s back in the throne room again, waving goodbye to her parents with an uneasiness in her gut that she brushes off as a mere stomachache. That was the last time she ever saw them. The warm kiss her mother pressed against her forehead and her father’s affectionate ruffle of her hair. Those were the last forms of affection she’d ever receive from them.
She calms down after a while, having held onto Jet for dear life. She’s about to move away from him, her shaky breaths not doing much to convince him that she’s okay. She yelps, Jet picking her up in a bridal carry and walking back the way they came.
“Put me down!”
“Calm down, princess. You’re tired.”
She narrows her eyes into a glare, though it’s less hostile than before. Her eyes drop to his neck, stubbornly refusing to look into his eyes. She tries to move her feet but finds that she’s lost all feeling in them after having sat on them for as long as she did.
“Any more glaring, and you’re gonna burn a hole through my shirt, princess.”
“Good,” She grumbles with a huff.
His chest shakes with a deep chuckle, her own heart warming at the sound. “Let’s get you something to eat.” She hesitates. Was this really a good idea? Maybe Aang, Katara, Toph, and Sokka would be worried she’d get back so late. Maybe he was actually taking her to be captured again.
Maybe he had something else up his sleeve.
“Fine.”
The first few drops of rain snap her out of her memory, before the rest come down in full force. The rain pelts her body, droplets sliding off her hair and streaming down her face. Her entire body is soaked, and the shirt and shorts provident little protection.
She cups her hands, the rainwater quickly gathering in a small pool. Her body feels heavy and tired, her heart filled with all sorts of emotions that crash against each other like raging waves in a vast ocean that she’ll never be able to calm.
She stands up. She takes a deep breath, bringing her arms up into a circle and suspending the raindrops in midair when her hands meet above her head, moving to sweep her left foot in a semi-arc.
The movement guides the water to surround her in streams, mimicking the image of a hurricane she had seen in passing during geography class. Her movements are slow and controlled, but as thoughts start to cloud her mind, they become more erratic and more emotional.
She thrusts her right arm out to the sky, a jagged spike of ice following suit. The edge is as sharp as the hot flash of anger in her heart, anger at herself for being so helpless and pitiful in this state, anger at her parents for abandoning her, and anger directed at herself for being unable to control anything around her.
She shifts her arm back, leaving the large spike of ice as is and allowing herself to feel the next emotion: Despair. How could she even think about falling in love in a dimension that isn’t even hers? She had to leave sometime. Whatever she felt for Leo would be over before it even began.
She despairs for a life lost, for the various that she’s seen leaving the plane of mortality in the blink of an eye. Despair for her parents. Despair for Yue. Despair for Jet.
Despair for all the lives lost in the war.
Despair for a love that once was.
The water around her seems to adapt to her feelings, shifting and surrounding her in a flurry of churning, rapidly moving stream that she almost lets go of.
Then, Fear takes hold. Her body is simply flowing along with the water, allowing herself to become one with its motions. She’s scared. She’s scared to lose the people around her. She’s scared she’ll never make it back to her home.
She’s scared that once she takes the first step forward to confirm what she and Leo have, she’ll lose it.
She’s scared that she’ll lose him.
The water bubbles, drawing back and coating her body in a protective shield, leaving her face unguarded.
All her guarded emotions finally rise to the surface. She raises her hands again, bending every drop around her to form a huge orb of water above the apartment building.
Then in a single movement, she bends the water to become mist, letting it — and her emotions, dissipate into the morning of New York City, surrounding the buildings with heavy fog.
She sighs softly. It’s as if a huge burden has been lifted off her shoulders. She walks back down the fire escape, slipping back into April’s room and under the covers, not noticing the dirt that covers the soles of her feet and staining the white bedspreads.
She falls asleep as soon as her head hits the pillow, lip curved upwards into a soft smile.
Maybe she should do that more often.
— — — —
“I never understood how turtles — could be so fast!” April says between pants, breathless from the amount of running they’ve just done. Y/n nods in agreement from beside her. She could run, just not for two hours straight.
“C’mon, April! This is just the warmup,” Mikey encourages, all four turtles completely unfazed. “I’m sorry — the warmup?” Y/n echoes in disbelief, holding a finger up as she catches her breath from beside a tired April, “For two hours??”
“That’s what ninjas do. Training sometimes lasts for four–five hours at a time. Awesome, right?”
“Awesome?” April’s baffled by how normal this is for them. “Are you kidding me? I’m gonna puke.”
“I second that motion.” Y/n raises her hand from beside her, already leaning against Donnie, who supports her with a worried smile. Her stomach turns, all her stamina spent. Her legs have zero feeling in them, barely managing to hold herself upright.
“What about a real mission?”
“It took fifteen years of training before Master Splinter let us go on a ‘real mission’. You got a long way to go, sister.” Raph scoffs, sassily dismissing April’s request.
“Not that long. A decade or two will fly by like that!” Donnie snaps his fingers to prove his point, but it only serves to heighten April’s dismay.
“For a turtle!”
Y/n groans softly, the familiar unnerving sensation back again with full force. It had been plaguing her for the past couple of days, and she wanted to tell the rest but didn’t know how to — especially after that night when Donnie and April had both caught her kissing Leo’s cheek.
She constantly felt like she was being followed, but every time she glanced around to try and narrow it down, the feeling disappeared, as if whoever was doing so had fled. It’s back again, though - and growing more intense by the minute.
Everyone’s voices fade into white noise. She closes her eyes, trying to focus on what exactly her instincts are trying to tell her. Her gut twists and turns as if it’s wringing itself out to dry. However, it’s tugging in a particular direction, and she opens her eyes to see April pointing in the same direction as well.
A masked figure is hidden in the shadows, but the brightness of a neon sign reflects onto the signboard they’re hiding behind, revealing their location. They flinch at being caught, grabbing their things and running away.
Great. More running.
She staggers to her feet with a groan, beginning to give chase. If it’s one thing she’s learnt about being watched, it’s that it never leads to a good outcome.
Case in point: Sparky Sparky Boom Man.
As they run to catch up to the mysterious stranger, y/n gets a better look at them now that they’re more exposed to the light. She stops at the edge of the building they’re on but pauses once she bends the water out of the water bag on her hip. She judges the distance between the two buildings, unsure if the amount of water is enough to create a bridge over.
However, she’s hastily scooped up and pressed against a strong plastron, instinctively wrapping her arms around Leo’s neck as his own circle her waist protectively. He jumps off the building after securing a grappling hook to the next, pushing himself off the ledge and landing safely on the rooftop.
He sets her down gently, y/n whispering her thanks softly as their gazes lock. “Make goo-goo eyes at each other later; we got a guy to catch!” Raph rolls his eyes, the both of them flustered at suddenly being called out.
They resume their run, though the distance between them is a bit closer than before. She reaches the edge once more, kneeling down to get a better look at the man who slips into an apartment in the opposite building.
She allows herself to get carried over by Leo, the gesture almost second nature now. She lets go of his neck once they land on the fire escape, hands reaching out to open the window. She’s stopped, however, when Leo shakes his head, his hands holding hers and gently pushing them down.
He produces a tool from behind his back, y/n stepping aside in understanding as he jimmies the lock open before slowly sliding it up. She’s already prepared a shield of ice in case any arrows come flying, holding it in front of them both.
Luckily, no projectiles come flying at them. She breathes a sigh of relief but still keeps her shield up as they enter the apartment. It’s comparatively devoid of decorative furniture, a potted plant in the corner drawing her attention.
She walks over, noting how its leaves are somewhat wilted. She bends a small stream of water to soak into the soil around it, smiling when the plant looks a little livelier than before. She bends the rest of her shield back into liquid form, guiding it back into her water bag.
She hears a gasp, everyone having gathered around a board in the middle of the room. She walks over, curious as to what they’ve found, but her words fall short as soon as her eyes land on pictures of the turtles and April.
“Uh, Y/n? You should see this.”
She turns to Raph with raised brows, walking over to see what he’s looking at with such wide eyes. He passes her his flashlight, and she shines it onto a board that’s separate from the rest.
“Tui’s gills….”
Pictures.
So many pictures of her litter the board, pinned up with metal thumbtacks in a crazed organization system. Red thread connects them all haphazardly, words scribbled in red onto each.
There’s a picture of her healing Baxter Stockman, and another of her on the rooftop with Leo. Another is of her healing people during the Kraang Invasion, while one captures her mid-laugh, eyes gleaming with happiness and her nose scrunched at a joke someone says.
There’s also another of her slumped on the ground in the alleyway, moments away from having blood-bended. Her eyes are dark, her expression blank as blood trickles down the side of her head. Her hand is outstretched to Raph, who’s not captured in the photo, lips parted as if she’s talking to another.
Then there’s another of her with angry tears in her eyes, the close-up shot sending chills down her spine. It captured every emotion she had felt from that night — anger, helplessness, fear…
It’s unsettling. Her hands grip her arms, shuddering at the thought of someone taking all these photos of her without her knowledge. She shines the torch on the hastily scrawled words, beginning to read them.
‘Power over water?’
‘Not of this earth.’
‘Kraang mutant?’
‘The blue one.’
The sentence is scribbled next to a photo of her and Leo looking at each other with gentle smiles as if they’re in their own little bubble. His hand is brushed against hers, and the memory brings a strong heat to her entire face. She sneaks a look around, Raph having walked over to the other board where more photos of their existence are.
She reaches up, quietly removing the thumbtack and stuffing the photo into her pocket. It’s not like she isn’t creeped out by the photo — It is incredibly weird and unsettling after all.
But she kinda liked that one.
She shines her torch on the left side of the board, catching a few messily written words on another piece of paper. She moves the torch to shine on it, her breath hitching in her chest when she reads it.
‘Possible affinity with blood?’
Sudden light-headedness strikes through her head like a shard of pain, her breathing stuttering in her chest. She takes a step back. The red ink starts to bleed, dripping down the pictures of her with a crimson red that both draws her in and terrifies her to her core.
A loud slam draws her attention to Raph, who holds the stranger that followed them to the wall in an aggressive chokehold, his sai pressed to his throat with the intention to intimidate. She shakes her head and blinks rapidly, her racing heart doing nothing to calm how rattled she is.
“Don’t hurt me, I’m a friend!”
“Stalker’s more like it.” Raph scoffs.
“After all these months, finally face to face with the talking ninja turtles and April O’Neil herself. Even the Water Whisperer, Y/n.” He takes a step toward Y/n with his hands outstretched to grab her shoulders. Leo instantly moves to protect her, drawing his katana and pointing it at the man, who takes a step back, hands raised in surrender.
“You better start talking, pal. What’s with the photos? Who are you?” Leo’s aggressiveness seems to make the man start talking, eyeing his sword nervously.
“The name’s Kurtzman. I was a journalist on the case of the missing scientist last year. Then I discovered something much bigger.”
He moves to turn on the light, using his arm to sweep off scattered papers and the mug on his desk. He faces them with a book, placing it down on the desk with a thud. “The Kraang.”
He begins to explain, opening the book and showing the research and pictures inside. “The alien infiltration is long-lived. Ancient, in fact. The Kraang have been trying to use the mutagen to terra-form our planet for thousands of years. But they couldn’t use the mutagen in our universe without a specific chain of human DNA. They spent millennia capturing people. Shaping humankind’s genetic code until finally….”
He lifts up a picture of a baby, and April inhales sharply when she sees it. “That’s me.”
“Your mother was taken by The Kraang before you were born. Then, she was experimented on.” He flips to a family picture of April and her parents. April’s eyes are filled with pure shock, discovering new information about her family for the first time.
“My mom was experimented on?”
“That’s why you’re so special, April. Your DNA can perfect the mutagen in this dimension.” Kurtzman reveals.
“I-I think I need to sit down.” April slumps against a chest of drawers, holding her head as she processes everything he’s said. Y/n, on the other hand, has questions. She takes a step towards the man who’s been spying on them.
“What do you mean when you called me ‘Water Whisperer’?” She questions, her arms crossed defensively across her chest.
“Because you can control water! I couldn’t believe it at first, but once I saw those bridges made of ice, and the streams of water you surround yourself with, I knew at once you had some sort of power over it. There’s something I’ve been dying to ask, though.”
“What is it?”
“Well, it’s a fact that the human body consists of up to sixty percent water, with over ninety percent of it making up blood. So theoretically, wouldn’t it be possible that-”
He’s cut off with a single flick of her wrist, a small stream of water instantly covering his mouth and y/n freezing it in a split second. He’s effectively silenced, all four turning to look at her in shock. Her eyes are cold, her outstretched fist that’s aimed at Kurtzman a silent threat.
“If you complete that sentence, your mouth isn’t going to be the only thing frozen.”
The promise rings through the quiet room, and she unclenches her fist, bending the water back into its liquid state and back to her side, though the threat reminds everyone exactly how capable she is.
Leo’s about to say something – to check if she’s okay, when the door is slammed open by three disguised Kraang bots. They enter the room with their blasters, armed and ready to fire.
“They found me,” Kurtzman says, his voice filled with fear, “I don’t know how, but they found me.”
“Kraang, the human known as ‘Kurtzman’ has allied himself with the ones called the ‘turtles’, who are turtles.” The bot on the left says.
“Observe, Kraang. Disintegrate first, capture for interrogation later.” The bot on the right says.
All three start firing, beginning to spread out. Y/n’s lips curve up into an empty grin. “You came just in time. I have a few frustrations to take care of.” She jumps out of the way from a blast that’s aimed at her, letting out a cry as she moves her arms in a small arc, bending the water out of her water bag and crafting a spear of ice in an instant.
She sends it flying at the Kraang bot that’s firing at both her and Mikey, the latter throwing two ninja stars that embed itselves into the gun and its eye, while her spear pierces its abdomen. She hears a sharp squeal of pain that goes quiet after, the bot no longer moving to get up.
She waves her arm dismissively, bending the water back into its liquid state and reusing it. It’s tinged pink now, having pierced through the Kraang’s very being. She regards it with nonchalance, levitating it above her hand with her fingers around it.
“Y/n, watch out!”
Leo’s about to make a move to stab the bot that’s moving behind her but falters in his steps once she turns at his cry and sends the spear through the Kraang in the middle. It leaves a gaping hole through the pink flesh, the bot falling to her feet.
“Retreat!” Raph cries out as more of the Kraang begin to enter the apartment. They escape through the window, y/n groaning in annoyance when Kurtzman doesn’t make his exit. He flounders, trying to get to his notebook. The Kraang refuse to allow him to get near it, firing away at him.
She’s so close to just leaving him there. But she sighs, grabbing the back of his collar and pulling him back with as much force as she can muster, falling out the window.
She’s miscalculated his weight, and they both hurtle toward the ground at a terrifying rate. She doesn’t scream, the sound caught in her chest and only a choked exhale escaping. Was this how she would die? Saving an idiot?
She vaguely feels something circle around her leg, and it tightens when they’re inches away from meeting the pavement. They dangle upside down, and she looks down to see Mikey above them, holding on with all his strength using his nunchucks to secure both her and Kurtzman.
He slowly lowers them to the ground, and she collapses onto the ground, releasing Kurtzman’s collar. She stands back up with a grunt, dusting off the dirt on her clothes and ignoring the man’s pained cries. The creep could take care of himself.
“This way, move!” Leo orders after giving y/n a quick glance over to check if she’s injured. He looks away as soon as he confirms that she isn’t, his eyes hardening. His main priority is to get all of them out, unharmed.
They’re about to leave, but a van screeches to a halt, blocking their means of escape. The doors open, and the Kraang step out in spider-like robots. The clawed ends clatter against the pavement, the sound sending a chill down her spine.
A large blaster is revealed when the front panel moves aside, and they start to fire at everyone around. “This way!” Y/n cries out, gesturing for everyone to leave through the other side of the alleyway. Donnie ushers them into the secret entrance installed that leads to the garage, all of them piling into the ShellRaiser before Leo starts the engine up and drives it to the surface.
“Everyone, brace yourselves!” Leo calls out a single warning, y/n grabbing the closest thing to her, which is a handle attached to the wall of the van.
“Here’s the plan. We’ll infiltrate T.C.R.I. Then, we’ll wipe out all the ingo the Kraang have on April and her DNA.” Kurtzman suggests.
“T.C.R.I? I thought you guys blew that place up.” April points out. Donnie stiffens slightly at the reminder, glancing at y/n who doesn’t notice.
Leo drives to a safer area, everyone getting out and staring at the large building a short distance away in disbelief. “They rebuilt T.C.R.I? Raph mutters.
“We break in, erase April’s DNA codes, and get out. Infiltration only.” Leo orders in a hushed whisper.
“Le’s do this,” April clenches her hands into fists, ready to take action.
“Great. You and Kurtzman stay outside on lookout.”
“Stay outside? On lookout?” April’s incredibly offended, her hands on her hips.
“No problem. Take this,” Kurtzman rifles through his pockets, taking out a card and handing it to Leo. “It’s a key card I stole from one of their vans. It’ll get you into T.C.R.I.”
“I can be lookout.” Y/n volunteers, giving her friend a half grin. She shrugs at Leo’s baffled expression. “Hey, give her a chance. It’s the least you can do after you left me behind that night.”
Leo’s wounded expression makes her inhale sharply. She couldn’t help being salty over it still, having felt hurt that they excluded her. “Be careful out there, April.” She cautions her friend.
“Fine,” Leo caves in easily, unable to fight back against her. “Thanks Mr Kurtzman. Look after her.” He says sternly, casting one last worried glance over his shoulder as he leaves with April and the rest.
Y/n raises a brow. Just who was protecting who, here?
She’s left alone with Kurtzman, who she can see in her peripheral, is just itching to ask her questions. His eager eyes make her sigh, caving in. “What is it?”
“I just have a few questions. How did you receive your powers? Do you communicate with water? What exactly are your limits? How many phase changes can you make? Do you ever get dehydrated?”
She feels as if she’s a blueprint being studied by Sokka.
“I was born with waterbending. I don’t communicate with water, no. I feel the flow and simply guide it to the results I wish to produce.” She demonstrates using a simple stream of water from her water bag to wrap around her arm in a spiral, Kurtzman watching in fascination and awe.
“I can change it to be mist or even ice. And yes, I do get dehydrated if I don’t drink enough water. There was a time when I was in the desert and was really tempted to drink cactus juice.”
“Oh,” He sounds genuinely surprised at the last answer. He hesitates. “About my question from earlier….”
Y/n tenses, shooting him a glare that tells him to stop. But he pushes on, determined to find an answer. “Doesn’t this mean you can control people’s bodies?”
He waits for an answer, wishing he had a piece of paper to jot everything down. She takes a shaky breath, trying to steel herself. “Mr. Kurtzman. I do not know why you want to know this information, and nor do I plan to reveal it to you. Consider yourself lucky that none of them are around right now, or I would have frozen your entire being right here for speaking of such things.”
“Is that a yes?”
Her gaze darkens. This man is treading very, very thin ice. “It is a taboo power. A dark one I wish I never knew. Some things, Mr. Kurtzman, are better left unanswered.”
A moment of silence passes, y/n leaning against the wall and mulling over her own thoughts when Mr. Kurtzman speaks up again. “Maybe we should secure a van for their escape.” He suggests.
She moves to stand flat on her feet, nodding in agreement. “How about that one?” He points out a van a few feet away. They make their way over, Kurtzman jimmying the lock smoothly with ease.
She regards him with a mildly impressed nod. He rubs the back of his neck with a sheepish grin. “Had to secure a few getaway cars myself when investigating the Kraang.”
She sits in the passenger seat, Kurtzman sitting behind the wheel and hotwiring the engine. It starts with a purr, and he sits back up with a satisfied smile. She hears the sound of doors being smashed open, looking at T.C.R.I. to see the four running away from a crowd of Kraang that are chasing after them.
Kurtzman holds down the gas pedal, y/n yelping as the van suddenly moves. They screech to a stop in front of the five making their escape, y/n opening the door. “Get in!” She urges. They pile into the vehicle, Leo shutting the door behind them as Kurtzman drives off.
“What happened? Why is April dressed like that?” She has so many questions, but none get answered as the driver laughs loudly, gleeful at escaping the Kraang.
“Thanks for the save, Mr. Kurtzman.” She had to hand it to him; Leo was anything if not polite.
“I owed you one! So, did you wipe out the Kraang computers?”
“We did, by the skin of our noses.” Donnie shrugs.
“The only reason we survived was because of April. Whatever you did back there saved us all.”
“I have no clue what I did,” April sighs, clinging to her friend’s arm for emotional support. Y/n pats the top of her head softly, offering comfort in whatever way she can. “I was freaking out and then zap. The Kraang were toast.”
The van slows to a stop, and Leo opens the door for everyone to exit. “Well, I’m off. Somebody’s gotta keep an eye on the Kraang. Let me know if you need my expertise again, you know where to find me.” He hands Leo his card.
“And uh, blue one.” Leo’s about to walk off with the rest, April filling y/n in as they walk back to their apartment. Kurtzman gestures for him to come close, and he obediently leans in. He sees Kurtzman hesitate, looking at y/n in case she overhears.
“Here’s a piece of advice. Watch out for the Water Whisperer. Remember the question I wanted to ask earlier? Remind your brainiac brother about it if you want to stay safe.
You have no idea what she’s capable of.”
