RATING EACH "KNOCKING THE BOYFIE OUT" SCENE YAYYYYY
N°1 Bison + Kant + syringe
Tumblr media
No call back to "I'll cover your mouth if you scream", which is a disapointment. No shh shh shh either, but I enjoyed seeing Bison in determined murdermode (not to be mixed with his horny murdermode, more suited to some shh shh shh). Especially since Bison did start out with the disadvantage of a very fresh knife wound, so I'm willing to be lenient. I appreciate that it all took a lot of Bison's strength, to the point that Kant's weight brings him down with him until they're both lying on the floor. Kitten might have thought of murder all day, but kitten is also roughly one head shorter, fresh off of some med-induced sleep, and had a knife in his guts a few hours ago. I'm cutting kitten some slack. Plus we got this marvelous shot,
Tumblr media
which I will go ahead and call iconic.
9.5/10 they should do it again recreationally sometime.
N°2 Fadel + Style + finally some bathroom action
Tumblr media
Aw, look at them cheek to cheek ♥
Fadel was never going to give me any shh shh shh, because Fadel doesn't know how to have fun. He went for his usual "efficient, impersonal, I'm simply a man on the clock" schtick, except of course he was none of those things (appart from efficient). He did however go all out on the physical intimacy. I really loved the insane stalker vibes he brought to the table, especially since they're normally Style's thing. As a general observation, I greatly appreciated how long the whole thing took, how much Style struggled, and Fadel's expression once it was done.
Tumblr media
A picture is worth thousand-words fanfictions, or whatever it is they say.
9,5/10, let's not pit two bad bitches against each other. It probably gave Style ideas though.
Closing remark
I can only applaud the choice of giving us a slow pan from Bison's toes to his hell hath no furry (but i do have a stomach wound) face
Tumblr media
while Fadel remained an ominous blurr in the background until he attacked (though his arm in a sling still allowed for instant recognition)
Tumblr media
I feel like they would both agree that it was in keeping with their respective style.

Brother I thought I started it :,( I guess we're all psychically connected and felt the need to talk abt it at the same time.
I just don't wanna make anyone mad/ruin their fandom experience but also I physically cannot keep my opinions to myself or my head will explode. Any near argument I've gotten into was resolved in my comments and I just really don't wanna start shit on someone else's post so I make my own. It's very sweet that most of us can move on while disagreeing. Very different from other fandom's I've seen.
It's so easy to forget we're all talking to another human and the things we say have an actual effect on the other's day. I know how frustrated I get. I think it's cute that we try to minimize collateral damage 😭
My favourite phenomenon in the dungeon meshi fandom I've seen is that no one reblogs their beef on the post that "started it". Most people just... Make their own new post that is definitely a direct response/vague at the original post. And the tags are so quiet that someone will definitely see it.
I think I started partaking before I even noticed but the labru top/bottom drama definitely made it super apparent

Polls and Explanations
The tourney is over, and it's been a lot of fun! Especially for me, who got to see all the comments everyone left.
One recurring question I got (other than "Why would you pit two bad bitches against each other;" sir, this is the "pitting two bad bitches against each other" blog) was why I matched things up as they did. For example, putting Wind Waker up against Breath of the Wild in round one, when that seems like a final battle sort of deal.
There are two things that have always bothered me about poll tourneys.
Overwhelmingly, the results are dominated by "which is more recognizable" rather than "which is better." Just about everyone in the Zelda fandom has played Breath of the Wild, so it would outcompete almost everything based on sale numbers, which was boring and predictable.
The first few rounds never seemed to MEAN anything.
Number 1 was easy enough to fix: just add in options for "I haven't played these" and specify that you want answers from someone who's played both, and boom! You get informed opinions on which is better.
2, though, was more of a problem.
See, the way most brackets are engineered is to build up FOR that final battle. You want a clash of the titans as your finale! You want the biggest and baddest to have to claw their way to victory! You want your favorite game to have the highest kill count!
Which means your first round pits those titans against small competitors that never stood a chance, just to get them out of the way. With the exception of meme entries, nothing ever comes from that.
Of course Breath of the Wild would blow Cadence of Hyrule out of the water.
Of course the Oracles games wouldn't stand up to something like Skyward Sword.
None of these polls answer any questions. They're just obligatory so the match can get to that final battle without complaints.
Wanting to avoid that, the way I approached this bracket was a bit different. Instead of guessing at which would be the most popular and reverse-engineering that epic showdown, I wanted to match like with like.
So I made something to test the waters:
Tumblr media
Without an explanation attached, this one made a lot of people mad! Why was I separating Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, which shared a map, but not Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, which were vastly different games?
I didn't have enough poll options to do every single game, so I had to mix. And the mix was strategic:
Most games on here that are paired together share fans. For example, the majority of Ocarina of Time players either like or are ambivalent towards Majora's Mask, while a VAST majority of Breath of the Wild players take issue with the story of Tears of the Kingdom. If I grouped BotW with TotK, I wouldn't be able to get a read on how many people loved TotK, because BotW would be so overwhelming.
I'd seen about equal fandom obsession with Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword, or with Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks, so I could take their result and divide it by half.
Anyone who didn't fit either of these criteria got grouped together as best as I knew how. Wind Waker and Minish Cap are both full of whimsy. Tri Force Heroes, Cadence of Hyrule, and Hyrule Warriors are all different gameplay loops than the standard Zelda, and are (at least honorary, in TFH's case) spin-offs.
This poll gave me good data. There was about an equal level of interest between Four Swords and Echoes of Wisdom. Minish Cap probably made up a very small percentage of Wind Waker votes, so it would have to fight its way up through smaller guys. Something BIG would have to go up against Breath of the Wild to have a fighting chance.
With all that in mind, I started hammering out what the polls would be. I wanted each one to
Be paired with something that had a similar level of interest
Answer a question or sate a curiosity
That way, hopefully, they'd be neck-and-neck, and I'd get some good opinions out of the people who voted one or the other.
So, with all that in mind: here's my thought process when making this tourney, step by step. You might have to click to be able to read it all.
Tumblr media
So...what now? A loser's bracket? A re-do with different matchups?
Not exactly.
I'm going to make a separate post on that. Rest assured, though, this tournament is far from over.
This was just the first run.

Heya. So um... I got a question. Which character you fell in love the most? Maxime Le Mal (Despicable Me 4) or Ronaldo (Helluva Boss) or maybe both of them? If someone already asked you that question, that's fine
oh...forgive me, you made me think about Maxime Le Mal and Rolando at the same time, and i think my brain blanked out for a second 🥴💖 what were we talking about? 🙈🙈
Tumblr media Tumblr media
my first response to this excellent question is: why would i ever pit two bad bitches against each other? 🥰💖 i adore both characters in different ways for different reasons but i think trying to figure out which one i love 'more' is a bit like that 'two cakes' comic. it's less about one cake being better than the other - i'm just like, 'Holy shit! Two cakes!' 😂💖
however, this is an interesting pair as they have a lot of similarities to each other!! both older, fancily-dressed villains wearing tinted glasses (why is it always the tinted glasses?! 😖) who spend a great deal of time trying to cause distress to their targets and who are hiding a sexy monstrous form 😉 equally funny - the second i saw both of them in their respective trailers, i knew i was doomed. sometimes you just see a character and hear the autistic equivalent of the Kill Bill siren, you know? 😭💖
if we're going by a 'how ill is this guy making you' metric, i can confirm that i've done very little but think about our new favourite eel fellow for the past few days...and Maxime had me in a similar 'can't think about anything else' grip 🙈 a lot of my character fixations can be put on a spectrum somewhere between brief crush and Category 5 Autism Event, with the closeness to the latter being determined by 'how much have you talked about them', 'how many fanworks have you created in a short period of time', and 'how severely are they reducing your functioning' 😂 i think the absolute worst i've had over the past year or so were the Toymaker (i have never made that amount of fanworks for a character so quickly) and Nordic Bunny (i forgot to eat 💀💀). but!! i hold all of my beloved characters close to my heart even if they were just teeny-tiny little fixations, or if they're characters of fixations past...if something makes you happy even a little bit, i think they're just as worthy as the things which make you really happy too :3c

Omg Tonkla in Role Reversal GreatTyme would be funny af.
Tonkla: Okay, but have you considered this: we murder Tyme—
Great: P'Tonkla, you always suggest murder as a first AND last solution!
Like, Great was all for some mid sextortion because Tyme has a girlfriend, but Tonkla has fully embraced "Eat the rich" mindset and Korn is too lovesick (amused) to ever try to put a stop to it (not like he can in the first place).
I really do want more tonklakorn x greattyme allyship why are we pitting two bad bitches against each other y'all?
I also love the idea of Tonkla being high key down for eat the rich mentality while Great is like "I can excuse revenge porn and sextortion but I draw the line at brutal murder" and tonkla is like "ugh fine, gentle~ murder" like those two cat boys deserve their fail men so much tonkla and great never meet in the show but imagine the possibilities!!

I gotta be honest. I’ve rewatched Magadheera a few times now, and I think it’s becoming my favorite non-RRR Rajamouli film???!! Never thought Yamadonga would be usurped, and I still love Yamadonga with all my heart, but Magadheera is so sweet and sincere, and my little fluffy gay heart just loves that to pieces. Not to pit two bad bitches against each other, but Magadheera has really come out on top!

Catch Up with Me!
Tagged by @inkysqueed Thank you <3 I'm looking forward to watching beloved episodes of How it's Made later today, hehe.
Tagging: @elavoria @justafoxhound @chennnington @wispstalk @theoneandonlysemla @ladytanithia @miraakulous-cloud-district district if you haven't done it already :D
📚️ Currently reading:
Fanfic: I'm in the middle of quite a few at the moment 😅 Most recently, The Nature of Fire by wispstalk/buttsmcginty (haha butt) and Dealings with Daedra part 2 by theoneandonlysemla/semla
Published: Just finished 'Normal People' by Sally Rooney and that was akjagijhjlg good but extremely frustrating. I stayed up until 1AM ripping out my hair my while reading it. Also 'These Violent Delights' by Micah Nermerever
🎶 Last song I listened to: Pope is a Rockstar— SALES
Last series: Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, the tv miniseries. I really liked it!
🎬️ Last movie: Gremlins lol I'd never seen it before, and I loved it. So chaotic. Definitely adding it to the annual Christmas watch list.
📺 Currently watching: Interview with the Vampire season two with some friends. I love toxic gay shit. If I had to pick one genre to read/watch/listen to for the rest of my life it would be toxic gay shit. Someone pls rec me more toxic gay shit.
🌶️ Sweet/Savory/Spicy?: I could never pit three bad bitches against each other. All of them, couldn't live without them.
❤️ Relationship status: engaged 💍
🎨️ Favorite color: Earth tones, green, baby pink
🤩 Current obsession: My fiance bought an espresso machine after trying out his brother's over Thanksgiving, and since he's been on a work trip all week, I've been learning how to use it. We were a black coffee from a V60 household prior to this, so it was kind of intimidating to foam the milk, and the first time I made a cappuccino it tasted like grass lol (used oat milk and overextracted the beans). I'm not the biggest fan of milk tho so I stick to macchiatos, and my last two have been 👌
☕️ Tea or Coffee: Slight preference for coffee, but I love an herbal tea after dinner and am currently drinking a vanilla almond black tea.
🌐️ Last Thing I Googled: "Altoona style pizza" because I refused to believe it was a real thing and not something made at 2AM by drunk college students.

I finished The Stone Sky by N.K. Jemisin last night, then spent all of today digesting it. I really needed time to figure out how I feel about this book, nonetheless the Broken Earth trilogy.
As a whole, I like this series. My biggest praise will always go to the relationship between Essun and Nassun. That Essun, a woman defined by her motherhood, was a terrible mother to her daughter, and that her daughter in turn found solace in her mother's old abuser, is fascinating. It's insane. I would read a hundred books about them.
But even though the series is about Essun and Nassun, it's so just... not. I've complained before that the intricate world building is as fascinating as it is distracting. The narrative is always scrambling to explain something new, so much so that the characters aren't allowed to interact as much as they should.
I'm not even just talking about Essun and Nassun. Tonkee was wasted. She was first introduced in the very first book, and she was very cool and interesting. I kept waiting for the reason why Tonkee is in this story beyond a few lines of needed exposition. But after the first book, she stops being important.
Outside of characters like Schaffa, Hoa, and Alabaster, I didn't really care or know any of the other characters in the large cast. In theory, I'm supposed to have feelings about Lerna and Ykka, but... no. They served a function. And that's it.
The plot of this series just baffles me. Why did we spend so much time with Castrima? Why did Nassun have to keep finding excuses to not go after Essun? Why was this three books? This could have been duology! If I really wanted to, I could put on a tin foil hat and claim that someone outside Jemisin forced her to turn a two-book plot into a trilogy. I'm just utterly baffled that someone would let this story meander like this.
All my griping aside, I don't hate this series. I like it a lot, but on a intellectual scale.
This book is filled with fascinating observations about our society. I bet someone who knows more about the neo slave narratives of the 20th century would be able to write a killer paper on how this series ruminates on the legacy of authors like Butler and Morrison.
I like all of the complicated characters, how they defy dichotomies like good vs evil. Nassun is one hell of a character. I want to study her. I want more of her.
I don't want to pit two bad bitches against each other, but I can't help but compare this series to R.F. Kuang's The Poppy War trilogy. They have little in common, but they are both dark fantasy series I read this year, so bear with me.
The more distance I put between myself and Kuang, the more I struggle with how simplistic her stories can be at times. She doesn't leave a lot of room for interpretation or for the reader to introduce their own feelings to the mix. If you scrape off the overt violence, it surprisingly simple. It's a series that doesn't require a whole lot of input from the reader. But, the plot has fantastic momentum. Each book by itself is a joy to read.
Jemisin embraces uncertainty far more. There are no clear answers. The reader meets these characters and are forced to come to their own conclusions about them. Everything from its world to its themes gets more complex the more thought you put into them. The book demands you think about it. But, each book is kind of a slog. I always had to force myself to pick it up and read the next part. I never regretted doing so, but I also never really fell in love with the series the way I wanted to.
This is a case where I can say that a series is objectively excellent, but not really for me. I'm glad I read them all and I'm going to continue diving deeper into Jemisin's books. But I am so very glad to get the Broken Earth trilogy off my plate.
I also want to talk about the acknowledgements at the end of the book. In it, Jemisin explains that she wrote the trilogy while caring for her sick mother, who died before the last book was finished. I wish I got this context sooner. As Jemisin says, the trilogy is inadvertently an exploration of motherhood and her grappling with her mother's death.
There were a few scenes in this book in particular where I felt her experiences and thoughts echoed my own. I'm not a Hugo Award winning author, but I did notice that after my mother died a few years ago, everything I wrote was about her, even when it wasn't.
"Even that part where--?" Yes, even that. Even now I'm still writing about her and my relationship with her, and in many ways that are and aren't painfully obvious.
It was just an interesting thing to read when her death anniversary just past.
(Do me a favor and don't give me any more condolences. I really don't need them, and I would like to not regret adding that little tidbit about myself to this reflection.)

https://x.com/jkzpop/status/1805747713880785276?s=46&t=xZfMNrysfzaHDchIEDZ2ZQ
imagine if th would’ve dropped a song that day… the way these bitches would’ve been crying in every tweet about the streams saying how ths song keep free falling (bc yes it would’ve happened, likee 🥴) but they have the audacity to say they enjoy when “contents overlap” BITCH STFU yall were the ones crying because ygs album didn’t have a single song in the top 50 after a month
There is a part of me that understands why armys would think like this, (apart from them always minimizing transgressions against Jimin.) because people who are OT7 would obviously enjoy a surplus of content at once.
But at the same time, you’re absolutely right. Armys have already shown what they get down like when it comes to Jimin doing better than other members. They were pissed that people part 2 didn’t chart on Hot 100. Saying that the fandom should’ve completely dropped LC which was literally still fresh out, to support that song. The brunt of the bitterness armys harbor for Jimin now stemmed from that. All because of how close FACE and DDay were together. (I still believe had those two been spaced out properly, the blow back wouldn’t have been as bad as it was cause armys really got a lot of false hope from Jimin doing as well as he did)
And given that it would’ve been TH in this case, you know the victimization would’ve been 10x worse. Armys like to act like they don’t pit the members in competition with each other but they do. They for sure would’ve been comparing and contrasting numbers between Jimin and TH. Especially if Jimin would’ve charted in US Spotify and TH didn’t. So of course they’d act nonchalant about it now since it’s just a photo book or even when the songs would’ve initially dropped. But shit would go left throughout tracking week. Like the day Jimin and another BTS member drop a song on the same day is when you’ll really see them put that Jimin anti mask on.
I don’t know how they don’t see how shitty it is that none of the members (apart from JK) can really have a fully realized era or moment to themselves because BH refuses to not let them eat off each other. And have they not been complaining about being burnt out? Having to divide your attention between seven men who drop projects at the rate that they do. Do y’all not want a breather? Can’t even process the music one of them just dropped because you’re already making charting goals for the next member’s comeback. These over lapping releases are part of the reason why some of these other projects can never really have any real longevity. Cause apart from armys not fucking with the music, they immediately have to drop the previous member and focus on the new release since they still can’t multitask. Like that’s not “fun” in my eyes it feels like a burden.
