i kind of feel like it'd be fun to shun people who don't like comedy the way people who love horror make me feel shunned for not liking it. if I'm broken for not wanting media to show me frightening shit, you're broken for not wanting media to show you amusing shit
#personal crap#yes ik I'm exaggerating what horror fans are like but they're incredibly annoying when they act as if i have to accept it's artful#i won't care what interesting themes are in your story if I'm too busy wanting to shut it off or put it down#and as i say a lot if i wanted to see horrible shit that makes me feel bad I'd watch the news because at least that's real#I'm already constantly overwhelmed by awful stuff actually happening in the world without people making up more

Warnings: Cnc, Smut, ( oral, rough interfacing and semi-public ) and size difference. NSFW 18+.
Notes: Order up! So, this took a completely different turn. Unsure if it got weird along the way, but here it is, and I have no regrets. Wanted to move into darker themes with my writing so hope this turned out. Added cnc into the warnings just to be safe. Another thing, know the request states for them to almost get caught but I had to let them get caught. Hope you all enjoy.🥰

Helex saved you, at least this is what you keep telling yourself over again, and you felt you owed him for this. Your escape pod from a ship had crashed onto an unknown planet, and it was by chance that he found you, injured from the crash but alive. You're brought back with him and when you are online again you find yourself in an unknown place and your wounds are patched.
When you first meet Helex he terrifies you. His enormous form is at least three times bigger than your smaller figure, multiple arms latched on his frame, and a cavernous torso where you can feel his internal heating elements boiling even from a distance, his own personal smelting pool.
You knew who he was but only from horrifying stories. A member of the Decepticon Justice Division, a group of torturers employed by Megatron to hunt down and deal with traitors.
You're an autobot though, they were only interested in decepticon traitors, right? You don't want to find out the answer you decided. All you can do is thank him politely and ask for a safe return back home. His answer is what seals your fate.
"You're home."
Helex wouldn't let you leave and the one time you did try to escape you don't get far, and it's his enormous figure, intense gaze, and the threatening glow from his torso that reminds you to not anger him, otherwise things won't end well for you at all. So for now, you stay put, much to your misery.
Now, here you are, trapped in a place you wanted to be far away from. You weren't threatened, you weren't hurt, in fact you were provided with average care, Helex never let you starve and made sure you were comfortable, at least as best as you can be in such a place.
As the days went by they continue to drag out, and you lost track of how long you've been there. A lot of the time you get bored and try to keep yourself busy however you can, but it's a struggle, mentally.
Often you would hear the echoed screams, and that's when you needed to truly escape. You didn't want to hear them, and the only place the screams can be blocked out is in the medic bay. Nickel allows you to clean the bay often, showing some pity you think, and it also keeps you distracted from everything else.
Now, in the medic bay again, you do your best to find even the smallest of things to tidy or clean up. You honestly don't know how long you've been at it, but you feel the thundering quacks slowly increase, and glancing up towards the door you see Helex entering. Nickel must've told him where you are.
He's silent, as you are too, no greetings offered from either of you. You never know what to say to him, and you've unsure what he is thinking either. He moves towards you, causing you to grow nervous as he gets closer before stopping beside you, your optics focused on the bench in front of you where you had just cleaned.
"Are you afraid of me?" His sudden voice cuts through the air.
"Sometimes." You answer through a shaken whisper before meeting his fierce gaze. "Do you want me to be afraid of you?"
"I'm not sure." He sounds confused, and his answer doesn't really help calm you. "You're intriguing."
You're unsure what to say to that, and so you turn your gaze back to the bench just to avoid his piercing gaze. Yeah, you're scared of him, but he hasn't hurt you, not yet at least, and you're fully aware what he was capable of which is why you don't push him.
Helex continues to stare before he moves again, this time moving his large servo towards your face and using the back of his broad digit to caress against your cheek plating. The contact causes your venting to hitch, followed by a soft whimper out of fear. The affection is new and you're unsure how to react.
"I don't want to hurt you."
"What do you want?" You can't help the tremble in your vocals.
"I want you."
You turn your helm at him and he's suddenly on you, firm broad lips latching onto your own fiercely causing you to let out a startled whimper, muffled by his lips as he lifts you up onto the bench and pins you down onto the surface. Your hands push up against his chassis, giving weak attempts to get him off you, but it's pointless. His size and strength prove that, and you feel vulnerable and helpless as he forcefully kisses you.
His second pair of arms suddenly tug your legs apart, giving him the opportunity to press against you more and deepen the kiss. You feel his glossa push between your lips and coil around your own. His glossa isn't like others, much longer and hotter, a magna bitterness lingering as he fills your mouth and explores, causing you to let out a choked wince. Is that energon you taste? Did he just consume energon? Something told you that you don't want to know the answer. He shows no intention of stopping, and in fact he seems to be liking it as he lets out a low moan against your lips, his strong servos pinning you still as his second pair roam across your thighs and waist areas.
Your fighting attempts cease and you're left with no option but to let him, and much to your confusion your entire frame starts warming up from his intense actions. This shouldn't be happening, you shouldn't be enjoying this, yet you find yourself moaning lowly, your mouth full of his extended glossa.
Helex removes himself from the kiss, followed by his glossa that descends out from your mouth covered in saliva. You let out a forced vent and stare at him with wide optics, a bit stunned by his action, and he is only getting started.
He lifts your bottom half up making you gasp out loudly, leaving you to hang upside down just about from the berth you sat upon and you grip your servos across the edges. You feel his hot vents against your legs and panel, servos holding you tightly, right before feeling his snake glossa sliding against your covered valve.
"W-what are you doing?!" You're scared, feeling the hot texture against your closed panel and inner thighs, and much to your shock you're slowly growing more warm, whimpering in pleasure as he holds you hanging there, right before you automatically feel your panel retract on its own due to your growing desire.
He likes that, and takes his chance to latch onto your valve and devour you, thick glossa already sliding in deeply as he lets out a lingering moan tasting your fluid sweetness.
Another startled mewl erupts from you as you feel his glossa reach far deep through your channel, further than any spike before you've had. This shouldn't be real, yet it's happening, and reality sinks in as he starts to frag you with his glossa, sliding back and forth through your depths.
Your body responds through shivers of growing arousal, your valve building with fluids as you can't help but clench around his sliding glossa, letting out lingering soft moans as you crumble under him. Helex enjoys your taste and your reactions, letting out a vibrating satisfied groan against your valve that rocks through your frame.
The angle is strange, being lifted half off the berth leaving your shoulders and helm to barely rest against it while he holds you up by your spread legs and waist to hold you against him.
Constant weak mewls erupt from you over again as his glossa plunges through your channel, thighs spasming violently while you servos grab hold onto the edges as you feel yourself start to roll your hips against his glossa. You can't help yourself, it feels amazing!
This leaves though when you feel him pull away, glossa leaving your valve causing you to whimper in protest lightly. His hold is still tight as he lowers you back down, only for you to realise than that his panel had retracted, revealing his ridiculously large pulsing spike, tapping directly onto your valve, and this is when your fear quickly boils up again.
"W-wait, wait, you're too big-!" You're bluntly cut off when he ignores you and presses his spike against your valve firmly, the fat tip slowly breaching and invading your channel, thickness stretching you widely while he continues to press forward.
Your servos grip at his broad ones firmly latched against your hips while his second pair hold your legs apart, holding you in place, leaving you with nothing but to accept his spike that slowly fills. Letting out a choked sob you feel the burning pleasure build at your valve, every pulsing ridge rubbing forward and creating a bulge that slowly expands against your valve and lower soft armour.
Taking so much of him surprises you, you didn’t think your smaller frame could take so much.
His heated vents hit you, almost a burning sensation, as he firmly presses himself against your valve fully, able to stretch you fully while letting out a deep groan release from his chassis. Your optics shutter close while letting out soft winces followed by moans of desire rushing through you. You feel his entire length pulsing rapidly through your channel, expanding through the bulge created before you manage to online your optics to look at him.
He's staring right back, scorching gaze piercing through your small figure. He's so powerful, dangerous. There's no love or care in his face, only hunger and the growing arousal through him. This is only for pleasure, whether he intended for you to enjoy it you don't know, but you still enjoy it.
Helex gives a blunt thrust, shaking you against the berth as another choked sob leaves you, surprised by his sudden action as you grip your servos into his own even more, digits digging into his soft armour that will leave dents. He does it again, and again, slowly, feeling that broad spike moving through your channel thoroughly, before you feel his movements pick up as he tugs you by your waist against his movements, shaking the berth and yourself while you let out repeated gasps and moans.
Your sensitive node is stimulated against his rough armour while you continue to let out outbursts of desire rocking through your frame, clenching around his thrusting spike and feeling him buried deep within you. Despite your position, who it was, you don't care. You love the pleasure boiling through every inch of you and the tight hold he possessed, claiming and using you for his pleasure which you find oddly arousing.
His movements increase, forcing out stuttered vents from you over again, legs spread wide by his secondary arms and the heat radiating from him clouding your trembling frame. You feel his spike pump into you fully over again, twitching violently, vocal sounds growing louder, and you know he's about to overload, and it's no surprise to you that you feel yourself growing close to crashing through your own.
Moving your servo you rub at your node as you're unsure if he would care if you overload or not. Doing this causes your back to arch and accept every rough thrust against you, mewling loudly as you feel your overload coming crashing through you while clenching around his thickness. Helex lets out a deep groan that erupts from his chassis, feeling you clenching hard, giving a couple more jerky thrusts before spilling his thick trans fluids deep in you.
You feel the warm sticky fluids filling you to the brim, filling your chambers, channel and expanding up with his spike against your lower half. Some leak out with nowhere else to go while you hear it drip onto the floor, only low whimpers as the afterburst of pleasure continues to linger.
Helex keeps himself within as he admires and savours every moment, rubbing his primary servos across the bulge against you. He drew out a lot of your energy, and you silently admit it was a pretty good frag, your overload was quite marvellous. You're both lost the moment you don't hear someone entering the room.
Nickel clears her vocals to get their attention, making you both snap your gazes on her as she tads her peda against the flood with crossed arms, not impressed by the scene.
"Seriously? You two have your own private room to fool around in. I don't understand why you insisted on letting it happen in my medic bay."
All you can do is gasp and look away, feeling horribly embarrassed that you've been caught in such a way. You wince a little as you shift, still feeling him buried deep in you.
"Sorry, Nickel." Helex says softly. Despite her size, she somehow put the other members of DJD in their place, and learned to respect her.
"Well, chop chop, get cleaning. I don't want to be stepping in either of your fluids. Place better be spotless when I return." She turns on her pedas and heads out.
Letting out a low groan you feel his spike start to leave you, and flop out leaving your valve gaping and leaking your mixed fluids. Your optics are fuzzy but you feel his hot frame leaning across and sharing a surprisingly tender kiss with you. He tucks himself away, sharing one more glance with you, before turning and leaving the room.
You're left alone, sitting up against the berth as you give yourself a moment to gather your thoughts. It seems you're left to clean up, of course. Venting out deeply you do your best to clean yourself, close your panels, and start to wipe down the berth and floor.
Helex confused you, but you shouldn't expect too much from the large mech. You don't know what to expect anymore, or if you were ever going to escape. A part of you doesn't want to though, just so you can keep Helex's spike all to yourself.

Some time ago, i released this picture on my DA with a caption, later suppplemented by a short story expanding on the theme, followed by personal afterword regarding my background and themes of the story, which i now decided to present here on tumblr, all joined into one text. Once again, english isn't my first language, it was one of the first longer pieces i wrote and i'm by no means a writer, but i hope some of you might enjoy it nonetheless.
Hope you don't mind
You met her on an online forum about your favourite band and you've been messaging for a month now. She was just perfect: Funny, smart and as far as you were aware she was really interested in you, but everytime you suggested meeting somewhere, she said she's either busy or just changed the subject. Not wanting to push her, you gave her some time to think about it.
One morning a message from her, accompanied by a photo landed in your inbox:
"So...this isn't easy for me, but you seem like genuinely good person and i'd hate myself if i passed that opportunity because i was insecure. Anyway, this is me. I had an accident with high voltage power lines six months ago and i'm still insecure about meeting new people or going in public in general.
If you feel weird about it i completely understand and won't bother you any more, but if you still want to meet, i know a nice little pizzeria just around corner from where i live. The owner is an old family friend and could arrange a small room in the back for us so people won't stare."
Why should i mind?
As you read the message over and over, your mind is racing, filled with mixed emotions. On one hand, you're relieved – she really wants to meet you after all. On the other hand you can't help but feel sad – such a beautiful, smart girl, full of life, suffering from such horrible injury. Of course, you never for a second consider saying no to her proposition – she is still the great girl you messaged with the past month. You immediately write your reply:
„Hey! Of course i still want to meet you - i've been asking to meet you for some time now and nothing changed about that! Today, 4 in the afternoon works for you? Just tell me where the pizzeria is and i'll wait for you there.“
In few minutes she replied:
„Oh, you can't believe how relieved i am – thank you for not being weird about it! Yes, 4 will be perfect time. The pizzeria is Giovanni's on the corner of Oak and Harbor st – just tell the owner you're Jana's friend, he'll seat you in the back.“
„Well… I have a date!“ you think to yourself. Rummaging through your wardrobe you struggle to find anything you'll be satisfied with – going all dressed up like to prom seems like overkill, but you don't want to come all casual either – after all, you really care for her and you want to show it. In the end you settle for your least worn cargo pants with a T-shirt of your favorite band – you know she likes them too, so you hope this might outweigh your otherwise way too casual look. You set off early, intending to buy flowers for her. After careful consideration, you buy a nice bouquet of seven pink carnations and set off to Giovanni's.
As you step inside ten minutes before 4, the owner – a rather short, somewhat overweight yet muscular man with large hands and a bushy mustache above his friendly smile greets you. „Welcome to Giovanni's, what can i do for you?“ „Uhm, hello, i am Friend of Jana…“ „Oh, Wonderful, wonderful!“ the owner interrupts you with a big warm smile, A friend of our little Jana is my friend too! Right this way, have a seat, i'll bring you a vase for these beautiful flowers. Care for a drink in the mean time?“ „Yes, i saw you serve a homemade lemonade, please.“ you answer. „A wonderful choice! Comming right up!“ says the owner with a wide smile.
With that, the owner runs back front, returning in half a minute with your lemonade served in beautiful tall glass with pieces of lemon, lime and mint leaves, toped with a bright red straw. „Here you go! When Jana arrives i'll send her right away. Now, if i may ask, when did you two met? Pardon me for asking what might be a personal question, but you see, being friends with her parents ever since i moved here, Jana is like niece to me.“ "Oh, don't apologise, i understand.“, you reply, “To be frank, we haven't met in person yet, we were just chatting over internet and i really liked her – and the feeling was mutual, dare i presume.“ „I see“, says the owner, „So you know about…?“, He struggles to put his thoughts to words, instead just shrugs his shoulders one by one.
„Oh? Oh! Yes, i do. In fact, she told me just this morning.“ „I was just asking.“, nods the owner, „You see, our poor little Jana suffered enough. I just don't want her to leave today with a broken heart, so i wanted to make sure you won't freak out or something.“ „Oh no, don't worry, sir. I was asking her for a meetup for two weeks before i knew about it. I liked her before i knew about it and i don't see why it should change anything.“ The owner nods his head „I see. You're good in my books then, kid. I'm glad Jana found someone so understanding.“ He pats your shoulder as he says that.
There is a ring from the little bell above entrance and a young woman's voice calls:
„Uncle Tigran, are you there?“ „That's her.“ Says the owner and rushes off to the front. „My little Jana, it's so nice to see you again! Your friend is in the back, go, have some fun, and when you're ready, call me and i'll be right back to take your order.“
You stand up to greet her. In few seconds, she peeks inside the room with a shy, almost affraid look on her face. As your eyes meet, she smiles at you and you smile back. Despite the smile, her green eyes show a hint of timid apprehension. As she steps in, you notice her motionless hands, convincing at first glance, but knowing her condition, obviously artificial.
"Hi, nice to finally meet you", you say, holding the bouquet of carnations forward. "Oh, these are beautiful, thank you, she says, leaning in to smell them. Looking into her beautiful green eyes, your heart flutters with happiness.
„I'm really so glad to finally meet you in person“ you say. „You're even more beautiful than on the photo .“
„Oh, thank you. Nobody said such thing to me since…“ she pauses, looking into distance. After few seconds she breaks off, shyly attempting to smile on you. „Anyway, would you mind helping me with my coat?“ „Of course, right away“, you say as you move in to unbutton it. As you remove her coat, the prosthetic arms slip off her shoulders, staying firmly inside the coat's sleeves, letting her little arm stumps show. „Oh, sorry, i didn't mean to, let me…“ you stammer an apology.
„No, that's allright. They were meant to come off. I should have told you. I wear them on the street to avoid the stares, but they are so uncomfortable, so since here i am among people who know about me, i just hooked them to the coat so i don't have to wear them all the time.“
As you sit on the opposite sides of the table, you suddenly don't know what to say. You see she is uncomfortable, so you try to steer the conversation a different way.
„So… This pizzeria – It's named Giovanni's, but i heard you call the owner a different name?“
„Oh yes, uncle Tigran gave this establishment italian sounding name as marketing trick. He is great, though, one of the best pizza chefs around. He says he spent five years in Naples learning about local cuisine, actually. I understand you already talked with him?“
„Oh yes, he seems like really nice, but no-nonsense kind of guy. Told me you're like a niece to him and warned me not to break your heart. Not that i intended to, anyway.“, you add with a smile.
„Yeah, uncle Tigran was always nice to me. He visited me in the hospital almost daily when i…“ once again, Jana's gaze slides into distance.
„You don't have to talk about it, i'm sorry if i reminded you in any way.“ You say hastily.
„Oh? No, don't apologize, you did nothing wrong, it's just… Everything reminds me, you know? Wherever i go, whatever i do, every single thing reminds me i no longer…“ she pauses and sighs, lifting her stumps to illustrate her point before continuing „…have arms. Waking up in the morning, i try to lift my blanket and these useless things just flap about helplessly. Reaching for things, trying to do any simple task, even steadying myself when i trip – everything i do i must remind myself i can't do it the normal way anymore. If it was just one i could deal with it, but like this? I feel so helpless sometimes. The first few weeks in the hospital i had to bother the nurses everytime my nose got itchy, not to mention i had to be showered by them, just standing there, leting them clean me off. Tt felt so dehumanising... I'm sorry i spilled all this on you, it's my problem and i should deal with it myself, you don't have to think about it.“ She averts her eyes, looking down into the table.
„Jana,“, you say, „If i wanted not to think about it i wouldn't be here with you – and that would make me quite a bad person, don't you think? I came because i liked you from the moment we started chatting, long before i ever saw you. If there is anything i can do to help you – even if it would be just to stand by your side to always be able to remind you how great person you are whenever should you doubt yourself – i want to be there and help you.“
With tears welling in her eyes, Jana lifts her head „Really? You would do that for me?“
„Of course i would. You are smart, funny and stunningly beautiful. If i can help it, i wish for you never to be sad again“, you reach over the table with a tissue to wipe the tears from her cheeks.
„Thank you,“ she says, suppressing tears, visibly moved. „I never thought i would hear anybody say that to me. Come on - let's order some food, i'm starving.“
As if waiting for his cue, the owner comes in with a big smile „So, what would you want, my dears? We have excellent Margherita Napoletana, but if you're not into traditional pizza, i might do a regular New York style. Most people prefer that, anyway – beats me why, though, there's nothing better than proper traditional italian pie.“
„I think i could go for your Napoletana, Jana told me you're one of the best pizza chefs around, mister… uhh…“ „Tigran Manukyan, at your service.“, he replies with maybe a little too deep bow, „I presume our little Jana here told you about my little trick already, so why should i hide it anymore? Anyway, what can i offer you, my darling?“ says mister Manukyan turning to Jana. „I'll take the Napoletana too, uncle Tigran. And might i ask you for a glass of that lemonade too? It looks so refreshing.“ „Comming right up, my dears“, says mister Manukyan and rushes off.
„So… Where were we?“ asks Jana. „Well,“ you say, „I just told you you're beautiful and i wish to be always there for you.“
„Oh…“ she pauses, but smiles, finally seeming to be at ease, „I mean… Thank you. I'm sorry, I've became quite bad at taking compliments lately – not that i ever was any good to begin with, but now… i mean, you know, with my…“ she says, wiggling her arm stumps.
„You don't have to explain yourself, i understand“, you calm her, „Jusk know you are beautiful to me and nothing can ever change that. In fact, you were beautiful to me long before i knew how you even look, when we were still just chatting.“
Mister Manukyan comes with Jana's glass of lemonade and a pitcher „I brought you two some more for refills – on the house of course. The pizzas will be done in few minutes.“ Almost unisono, you and Jana reply „Thank you, mister Manukyan /Thank you, uncle Tigran“ and with a smile, he leaves.
„Anyway,“ says Jana, „I know you're telling me that just to make me feel better. Why would somebody as cute as you consider someone ‚beautiful‘ just from an online chat?“ she says, leaning forward for the straw and taking a sip from her drink.
„Maybe because i found a great person to talk to and spend time with.“ You reply, looking directly into Jana's eyes. „Maybe i don't care about looks that much. Maybe i think beauty is not only based on somebody's looks. And maybe, or not as much maybe as quite undeniably surely, you are actually beautiful even if i would step so low as to judge you just by your looks. You have pretty face, beautiful hair and the most captivating emerald eyes i've ever seen. But even without that, you are above all the brave, smart girl i came to know and love – and nothing can change that.“
„Brave? How am i brave? I spent half a year hiding from world, almost never leaving my room unless i had to.“ Replied Jana.
„Yet you came here and invited me.“, you say, “You overcame your anxiety and reached out. That alone was braver than most people would ever hope to be. All i ask of you is to believe in yourself as i believe in you. You are the bravest girl in know and i love you for that.“
„I love you too“, she says, hint of tears in her eyes once again as she shifts closer to you with her arm stumps outstretched. Understanding the hint, you hug her, gently stroking her hair with your hand.
„Oh, young love, what a beautiful sight!“ says mister Manukyan as he comes in with your pizzas in each hand „Here is your food, my dears, Bari Akhorzhak to you both!“
„Uncle Tigran,“ says Jana, lifting her head from your shoulders, „this was the first time ever i heard you speaking Armenian in your pizzeria.“
„Well, i figured i might as well drop the act, my dear.“ said mister Manukyan with a smile. „Pizza is my passion and my living, but i'm no Italian and never will be. Maybe it's time for me to fly my true colors with pride. People come here for good food, not for fake Italian. Of course, a name change would be required, then, but i hope people would come nonetheless. After all ‚Uncle Tigran's‘ has a nice ring to it, no? And i might as well put some of my old family recipes on the menu. Next time you come, i'll make you the best Lahmajoun you ever had, i promise!“
„That would be really great, mister Manukyan“, you say with enthusiasm, „I'm looking forward to it.“
As mister Manukyan leaves with a big, warm smile, you and Jana sit to your pizzas. "Do you need any help?" you ask. "No." says Jana almost too quickly. "Well yes, probably, but i shouldn't. I need to do this on my own - i mean, there won't always be somebody around to help me, but i will be always armless, you know?" You notice her suddenly easing up, as if adressing her condition out loud, without euphemisms or hesitating helped her finally come to terms with it. "Would you mind helping me taking off my shoes, though?"
"Of course", you say as you kneel and gently lift her right foot in your hand, taking off her shoe and sock, then doing the same with her left foot. "Thank you. You're a real sweetheart" she says, lifting her feet up to the tabletop, awkwardly picking the fork with her left foot and knife with the right. As you sit on the opposite side of table, you can't take your eyes off her while she cuts a small piece of her pizza and using the fork in her left food brings it to her mouth with a great effort.
"Oooh!" she smiles with pleasure as she savors the food in her mouth, "I almost forgot how great uncle Tigran's pizzas are! You should eat too while it's hot." Taking a bite from your own pizza, you must agree - this is certainly the best pizza you ever had. As you both eat, you notice Jana's movements becoming ever so slightly more fluent and relaxed with each bite. you can't help but stop and look at her, smiling.
"What? Is something on my face?" she asks as she starts rubbing her nose with her right stump. "No, it's just... When you came you were all tense and apprehensive, but now you seem to ease up." "I just know i'm in a good company", she says, shrugging her shoulders, "I mean, yeah, i knew you are funny and kind from the first time we started chatting, but now, you made me feel... appreciated, normal. Like i matter. I... probably just needed to hear that, you know? Like... from somebody outside of my family." "I see," you say, "But how come you weren't so shy when we were chatting on the forum?"
"I don't know, i guess the anonymity played a part, you know?" she ponders, "Like - on the internet, nobody sees me. Nobody knows. There's no way to tell whether the person on the other side is beautiful, ugly, thin, fat or uses toes to write. That probably helped me there."
"Tell me about it," you say. "Sometimes i feel anxious even making a phonecall, let alone talking to strange people in person!" "You?" she smiles "No way! You seem so cool and confident. After all, you asked me out first, i would have never had the guts to do it myself without you."
"The same magic of the anonymous internet as in your case" you reply, "And if i somehow seem confident now, it's only because i feel like we known each other for ages. It's hard to describe, but i feel like we were meant to be together, you know?"
setting down the knife, she extends her right foor over the table towards you, gently stroking your face with her big toe. Smiling, you take her foot in your hands, planting a soft kiss on her ankle. She giggles "That tickles! But... it feels nice." Kising her foot once again, you let go of it, looking deep into her green eyes with a warm smile. "So, are you up for a little stroll after we finish our pizzas?", you ask her. "Gladly!", she replies as she puts another piece i her mouth. "Do you have any specific place in mind?" "Well," you say, "I was thinking of just going for a walk, but if you want, we might go to the gazebo on the cliff above the city and watch the sunset together?" "Oh, romantic!" she exclaims with excitement. "I like that."
When you finish your pizzas, mister Manukyan comes in to clean up, almost as if he was waiting for his cue. "Enjoyed your food, my dears?" he asks, "Everything was up to your liking? "Of yourse, uncle Tigran," responds Jana with a smile, "I always loved your cooking."
As you leave Jana in the back to pay for the food, mister Manukyan says:
"Thank you for everything, kid. Jana really needed someone to just be there for her. She used to visit me every week, but since her accident she just moved back to her parent's house and stoped going out. I knew what she was going through, but i had no idea how to help. Turns out, all she really needed was for someone outside of her family to just treat her with love and respect and you did just that. I won't lie to you - i doubt if stuff would be just *poof* and everything is okay now, people just don't work like that and i am sure there is still a lot ahead of Jana before she's back to the cheerful self i remember from before her accident, but i feel like you really helped her make a big progress today. Once again, thank you for that."
"It was my pleasure, mister Manukyan." you replied, "She is great girl and i fell for her ever since we started chatting." "I'm glad to hear that. And please, you can call me Tigran", he says with a smile, "Or Uncle Tigran, whole town will know me like that anyway soon, at least i hope."
After shaking hands with mister Manukyan, you return to Jana, who is almost prepared to leave. As you help her tie her shoes loose enough so she can slip them on and off at will, you go fetch her coat.
"No, you can leave that here,", she says, "i'll talk with uncle Tigran and ask him to hide it somewhere so i can pick it up later."
"Are you sure? Your arms are in there, don't you want to put them on?"
"Not really. As i said, they are heavy and uncomfortable. Also, they are purely cosmetic, so aside from keeping people from staring, they are pretty much useless.", she said. "And if that means people will stare, then so be it. I need to get used to showing in public and i thought why not now, when i have you by my side?" "As you wish," you reply. "Shall we go, then?"
"Okay. I hope you don't mind being seen in public with a disabled girl"
"Being seen with beautiful smart girl i love? Why shuld i mind?"
A little afterword is due.
This story, while obviously coming from place of my attraction to women with, let's say, non-standard physique, in this particular case bilateral arm amputees, is a departure from my usual style. My usual character background snippets revolve around happier circumstances - my characters usualy lose their limbs voluntarily, non-permanently or in some obscure magic way, which, while it can't be assured to be temporary, has the peculiar side effect of making them weirdly okay with the changes.
This is not the case. In reality, a limb loss is a powerful traumatic experience to vast majority of people. Overcoming such trauma might take weeks, months, years even, and some people may never recover mentally. I felt like this point was worth mentioning and keeping in mind.
As for overall themes of this story, the main themes are hope, acceptance and dealing with adversity. In that sense, Jana's condition is a stand-in for number of problems which might cause a person to lose their sense of self-worth and shut themselves off from the world. If you are suffering from any condition causing you to feel that way, remember this: You Matter. You are loved. And while in real life, recovery will certainly not come as quickly as for Jana in my story, the point illustrated still stands: Some battles are not meant to be fought alone. Sometimes all you need is to find someone who will help you carrying your burden. Remember, that leaning on your friends in hard times isn't weakness. On the contrary, knowing when to ask for help is major strength. And if you do not suffer from any such problems, then please, be mindful of those who do. Be kind, accepting and unconditionally loving as our unnamed protagonist. After all, the protagonist is reffered as You, because they are supposed to represent the best in every single one of us. Man, woman, trans or non-binary, if you're reading this, i hope you will always be as unconditionally accepting as the protagonist is to Jana.
Some elements of the setting sort of come from my own experience. The overall setting of my stories is this usual culturally neutral americano-european mishmash, made for easier accesibility for wider audience, but certain characters or places might carry something from my personal experience. As some of you might know, i am Czech, so i decided to write Jana as one too - even though this might not be really apparent from anything beside her name, that is her intended nationality. Whether you imagine her as local, thinking of this story's setting as somewhere in Czechia or as immigrant to a foreign country of your choice is up to you. Also, the character of Tigran Manukyan is losely based on my own experience: Where i'm from, a lot of pizzerias are actually owned by people from Armenia, Georgia or Turkey and a lot of their owners are very similar to "uncle Tigran" both in their appearance and in their cheerful, friendly way of greeting their customers. Uncle Tigran's character arc is also about acceptance: Accepting own cultural heritage, because every culture is worth preserving.
So, this is the end of my little PSA. Respect each other, be tolerant to one another and try to help those whose life dealt them the worse hand.
#armless#no arms#double amputee#amputee#arm amputee#dae#dae amputee#Respect each other#be tolerant to one another and try to help those whose life dealt them the worse hand#i really had to put the last sentence as hashtag#don't ask me why#story#fiction#short story

For Death Or Glory : Chapter Five
Jake Kiszka x Charlotte (fem OC)
Warnings: Anxious Themes (includes a Comforting scene), Mild Meltdown (I don't want to say a panic attack because it isn't really) Mentions of Grieving, the most brief mention of funerals, silly&friendly bullying, drinking/alcohol (we know the drill), Fluff oh the fluff, & Jake yearns a little more (shocking).
Word Count: 4.6k
Summary: After caving and finally asking for help, Jake doesn't know what to do with himself until she shows up. Which takes a big ol' turn for ... well, I guess we will find out, won't we? 🤭
Author's Note: If we're being completely honest, this was the first chapter I wrote, of this story. I knew exactly how I wanted this day to go and I couldn't stop myself when I thought of the idea. It's what fueled the bulk of the storyline and I really hope you guys love it as deeply as I do. 🥹
Clocks Go Forward - James Bay "Stay warm, close your eyes, let time fly, Stay close, stay right here, nothing to fear."
I slide my phone back into my pocket. Staring at it isn’t going to make her reply, Jake. I’ve been at the bar trying to figure out this paperwork for a while, and well, I’m lost. My hands keep finding their way to the back of my head as I read through these documents; I need to focus on something else.
“Hey, how are you?” I say in passing some day-time regulars of ours. I collect any empty cans or glasses that I can, anything to keep me busy at this rate.
I wander behind the bar, setting all the glasses in the dirty bin.
“Jake.”
I look over to Josh, who’s wiping out a glass.
“Why don’t you just go get some lunch or something? You’re stressing me out being here.”
“Is it really that bad?” I ask, running my hand through my hair.
A laugh erupting from him says enough.
“Okay, alright, I’ll leave you alone,” I tell him, “Just let me know if you need anything.”
Reluctantly sitting back down at the desk in my office, I find myself with my head in my hands for a moment. You’re going to be okay. You’re new at this, and it’s okay to mess up. She’s giving you time to take care of everything.
After a deep breath or two, I opened my laptop and pulled up my email. I decided that maybe spending some time doing mindless admin work would help distract me from the inevitable problem.
I’m flying through these emails by humming along to whatever customers have chosen for the jukebox. Looking at the time in the top corner, 2:30 pm.
She still hasn’t replied. Maybe she’s working with someone else right now; just be patient.
I walk back into the bar, seeing a handful more people come in. I wave slightly to the regulars who like to camp out in the corner. They enjoy sneaking away from work for a few hours; “Lunch beers” is apparently what they call it. I laughed the first time they told me about it, but as they continued the tradition, I understood it more and more.
Looking to the corner of the bar, I see Quinn. I can’t help but watch the two of them for a minute with a grin plastered on my face. Seeing my brother so happy makes my heart swell daily, and Quinn is perfect for him; I can’t deny it. They just know how to handle him and reign him in when he’s being a bit too much. Which is more often than not.
“Do you two want to go grab lunch?” I ask, slinking my arm around Josh’s shoulders, “I think I can handle the rowdy folk we have here.” I shoot a wink at the few customers sitting next to Quinn.
His eyes light up, “You don’t have to ask me twice. Let’s go, bug!”
I don’t think he could have left any quicker if he tried. Immediately, hand in hand with Quinn, and practically pranced out of the bar.
⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯
“And a squirrel fell down my chimney into my fireplace!”
I nod with a quiet “mhm,” glancing at my phone hidden under the bar. 3:15 pm. I'm trying to look interested in this story I’ve heard a few times. The older gentleman talking to me forgets that he’s told me the majority of the tales he has in his arsenal. But I don’t want to cut him off; he seems lonely, and the least I can do is humor him.
Hearing the door chime, followed by Josh making his entrance.
“Welcome back,” I chuckle as he walks swiftly towards the bar.
“I need to use the lavatory, and then I will be ready to rock ‘n roll or whatever kids say nowadays,” Josh mutters.
You would think he’s nine hundred years old with how he talks sometimes, but it always keeps me on my toes. Watching as he disappears around the corner, I grab the older man’s glass and place it in the dirty bin.
The door chime goes off again, causing my head to whip around.
Oh, she’s here..?
As Charlotte slowly walks to the bar, I go to meet her at the opposite corner. I pull my phone out; she never replied?
“I didn’t think I would see you today,” I start as she approaches. Leaning down to grab everything I had been looking at, I stowed away when I couldn’t focus anymore.
“I have been reading through all of these, and I think you’re gonna need to explain these to me like I’m five–” I stop. I hadn’t looked at her face the entire time, and her eyes were pink and looked a bit swollen. She’s not making eye contact at all, which seems odd compared to the other afternoon, where I thought if she held my gaze any longer, I would explode. Was she crying? I questioned myself. I hope I didn’t cause this. Was she supposed to be off today? Oh my god, what if I’m the only reason she’s working?
Finally pulling myself out of my head, “Are you okay?”
She takes a shallow breath before looking up at me, and I can see that her eyes are fighting the urge to let the tears fall.
“Um,” she swallows, looking back down, “Yeah, I’m fine.” Her raspy voice is so quiet I can barely hear it. Her lip quivers as she stands there, and I can see the way her breathing is picking up. Oh no, oh no, oh no.
I hear the door to the bathroom open. Turning around, I shoot Josh a look. He makes eye contact with me as I bounce my eyes to Charlotte and back to him. I watch as he glances at her quickly, his eyes widening as if to say, ‘Do what you need to.’
I come out from behind the bar, grabbing her bag from the barstool it sat on.
“Come with me,” I whisper to her; she just nods in response.
I gently place my hand on her back, guiding her down the hall to my office. Just long enough to round the corner into the small room, she lets out the tiniest whimper I’ve ever heard. I toss her bag onto the chair, facing her as she finally breaks down. Her hands fly up to hide her face as she lets out the most heartbreaking sound. One sob was enough for me; I pushed the door closed behind her and pulled her into me.
“Oh, honey,” I let slip out, holding her small frame tight against me as she cried. I listen to her sobs against my chest as I run my hand down the back of her head, holding her close. I close my eyes to help focus my breathing; being in these situations never gets easier and I’ll never understand how I always end up in them.
“Take a breath for me,” I said quietly, trying to stay calm for her. I can feel her take a deep breath and shakily release it. Her arms drop from her face, finding their way around my back. Grabbing at my shirt gently, like she’s afraid I'll let her go.
“I’m right here. Take your time,” I whisper, pressing my lips gently to the top of her head, “You’re okay.”
We spend a few minutes like this. I keep rubbing slow circles on her back, resting my face against the top of her head to keep her tucked in.
“Do you want to talk about it?” I ask. I feel her shake her head ‘no’ before turning her face and leaning back against me, reaching up to push the hair out of her face. She lets out another shaky breath.
“I‘m so sorry,” she mumbles into me.
“Don’t apologize for having emotions.”
I lean back to look at her, her breathing starts to feel more normal.
She looks tired.
I don’t know what comes over me when I reach up, holding either side of her face and gently wiping the tear stains on her cheeks away.
Our eyes finally met; she really was beautiful— crying or not.
Her gaze doesn’t falter, her green eyes locked on me. She almost makes me nervous, not in a mean or intimidating way, but like I shouldn’t be allowed to look at someone who looks like her.
“Do you want to um-” I hesitate, “go get something to eat? While we talk about things. Not like a d-”
Despite her watery eyes, she huffs out a laugh.
“Stop,” she says, “I know what you mean. Yes, let’s do that.”
⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯
We walked into the restaurant, and considering it’s only 4 p.m., it’s not very busy. I let her pick where we sit, following behind as she chose. She had a soft smile on her face as she claimed the booth seat like she just won a prize.
“Hi, can I please have a Boulevardier? ” Charlotte politely orders, my eyebrows raised at her choice.
“Actually, I’ll take the same thing,” I tell them, “Thank you.”
Charlotte pulled out the paperwork, flipping through it to see what I had left. Watching her green eyes flit across them, setting aside anything that needs more attention. The way that she chews the inside of her lip while she’s reading is endearing.
“Okay, so you haven’t missed too many things.” She tells me.
“Oh good,” I start picking at my lip, “I’m sorry, I just didn’t realize how much was involved.”
“That’s alright, Jacob. It’s a lot, and nobody generally explains this part of business to you.” Normally, I would cringe at my full name being used, but I just want her to keep saying it.
She pulled out one of the papers and turned it to face me. She pointed at the part I hadn’t filled out.
“So essentially, this means–” She begins explaining. Her eye contact is intense while she talks, which makes it incredibly hard to focus. I feel myself slowly smiling as she’s telling me. I glance at her mouth quickly, making it even more challenging to pay attention.
“What?”
Damnit. I raised my eyebrows with a small ‘mmm’.
“You looked like you wanted to say something?” She questions.
“Oh, I’m sorry– no, I was just listening.” There are a lot of things I could say.
“Oh– Well, anyway,” she shakes her head a little before continuing to explain.
I really wish that I could tell you what she’s explained to me at this point, but to be completely honest, I have no clue. I’ve been far too distracted by the freckles on her nose and the way her eyes twinkle under these lights. I can’t get over the green of her eyes, with subtle gold flecks in them. Her hair is perfectly curled, and how the color of it stands out against her blazer. She is unreal.
“Are you planning on doing that?” She asks, immediately pulling me out of my thoughts.
“Yeah, absolutely.”
“Great, Melody will really benefit from that,” she tells me. Benefit from what exactly?
“Do you need me to send you the information on that?” she quickly asks, grateful I’ll at least have context on what I’m agreeing to.
“Please, if you could,” I say quietly as I rub my eyes.
Our server stopped our conversation to take our order, giving me a second to try and refocus myself. She is trying to help you and isn’t being an asshole about it. The least you can do is pay attention to what she’s actually saying. Get it together.
“Okay anyway,” she starts again, “I think that’s everything?” She sifts through the papers.
“Amazing,” I breathe out. “I’m sorry I made you come out here to help.” I sit back in my chair, my hands falling into my lap, where I quietly dig at the side of my thumb.
“No, it’s okay, really,” she says, not making eye contact this time. “I was already in Portland, so it worked out.”
Her eyebrows pulled together as she told me, but I knew I shouldn’t ask. If she wanted to tell me what was wrong, she would. I’m not going to make her cry again.
“Well, I’m glad I caught you at the right time then,” I say, offering a small smile. Her face softens a bit, and she leans forward, propping herself up.
“So, how long ago did you buy the bar if it’s not even a year old?”
“About two years ago, actually,” I tell her, “We took our time renovating it to feel right.”
“We?”
“All the boys helped me, but Josh really did the most with making it look the way it does.” I usually have no issue talking about the bar, but her being even vaguely interested has my brain stalling.
“I love that. He did a good job curating,” she says, “Was the goal to be pirate-esque, or did it just end up that way?”
I chuckle, “No, it was intentional. I’ve always enjoyed pirates, even as a kid, so I felt like it just made sense.”
“I think it’s nice that you made it your own. There are enough modern hipster bars in the area. It’s a refreshing thing to walk into.”
Her compliment made my heart beat a little harder. I’m never one to assume, but she doesn’t strike me as someone who would hang out in a bar like mine. Granted, I guess I can’t really picture her hanging out in bars in general, but maybe that’s because I have always been a fan of the smaller, more dive bars. And I can confirm that I’ve never seen someone of her caliber in any of them.
Once our food is brought out, I ask her about how she got into working for the state. We quietly chatted about some of the situations that she’d walked into, which unintentionally made me feel much better about my slip-up. But simultaneously, it made me realize how terrible men can be. I can’t imagine yelling at her regardless of what she told me. People are awful.
The server brings over the check, and without hesitation, I slide my card into the little black folder and hand it back to them with a quiet, ‘Thank you.’ I bring my attention back over to her, her eyes a little wide but going back to normal as she continues telling me about another bar owner being a complete ass.
I fill out the slip, leaving cash for the tip, before looking up at her.
“Ready?” I ask. She just nods a few times before sliding out of the booth. I wave my hand in front of me, “After you m’lady.”
⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯
“So, how far do you live from here?” I try to make some form of small talk on the way back to her car, avoiding the elephant in the room.
“I live in Skowhegan, so it’s a little hike,” she tells me, looking around at the area’s architecture, “but my family has a house on Sebago Lake, so it’s not as bad when I have to come down here.”
“Oh, I'm sure it’s peaceful over there.” I imagine how quiet that lake house must be this time of year. With minimal people vacationing or trying to fish on the lake, and it’s probably gorgeous in the mornings.
“It really is,” she says, looking down at her feet for a second, “Do you live close?”
“I actually live above the bar,” I laugh every time I tell someone, “I know that probably seems ridiculous.”
“Convenient, at least,” She giggles softly before looking at me with a smile. Oh, I’m gonna throw up.
“It’s a blessing and a curse,” I tell her, “Blessing when you can just roll out of bed and run downstairs if you oversleep, but a curse when I find myself in there most days.. And nights.” Pointing at the crosswalk, nobody was coming; I placed my hand on the small of her back as I led her into the street, shit, carefully pulling my hand back as she stepped off the sidewalk.
“You don’t get sick of being there?”
“You would think so, but no. I love it, even if working with my brothers can be an absolute chore sometimes.” I tell her.
She grabs my arm gently.
“I think that’s great, Jacob. It’s refreshing to hear someone love their job in this industry. It’s few and far between.” I glance over at her as she says it; my stomach has little knots forming as she squeezes my bicep a few times before pulling her hand back.
She points to her car, parked just a short distance ahead of us. I see her pulling her keys from her bag as we approach it, unlocking the doors. I open her door for her, watching her face redden a little at the gesture. As she’s settling into her seat, I notice a brochure-looking paper in her passenger seat before realizing there’s a photo on the front. And a name. Oh my god, Charlotte. That’s why she was so upset.
Setting her bag down in front of the pamphlet, she turned back to me with a soft smile, “How much should I send you for food?”
“Don’t worry about it,” I tell her.
“But, Jacob..”
“It was my idea. I’m not going to make you pay for that.” Also, it’s the least I can do, especially now.
“Okay,” she sighs. “Well, thank you for the food and walking me back here. I’m pretty sure I would have gotten lost.”
“Of course,” I tell her, “Drive safe.”
I go to close her door for her, and I don’t know what possessed me when I hesitate, “Actually—” what are you doing? “Let me know when you make it home? Just since it’ll be a little later.”
She nods subtly before saying, “Okay,” with a quiet laugh.
I bite at my bottom lip as I smile at her, gently shutting her door for her.
⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯
“Now, where have you been?”
I haven’t even made it fully behind the bar, and I’m already getting harassed.
“It’s nice to see you too, Linda,” I laugh under my breath, “I had to take care of some paperwork, but I’m here now.”
Raising an eyebrow, she looks from me to my right, where Josh stands with a shit-eating grin. Oh, fuck me.
“And how was that paperwork, brother?” He says joyfully, emphasizing his skepticism with heavy air quotes.
And, here we go.
“The paperwork went well,” I side-eye him, “Thank you for asking.”
I watched the two of them share a look before looking back at me, and all I offered was a shrug in response.
“Why were you not in your office doing paperwork?” Linda questions as Eleanor joins her at the bar in their usual spots.
“Who wasn’t in the office?” Eleanor chimes in.
“Jake! He apparently went somewhere with someone to take care of paperwork,” Linda fills her in, like two school girls at lunch.
Rubbing my hand across my face, I turn around to dry some glasses while I’m interrogated further. I should have known my being nice to her would have me questioned.
“Well, that sounds like he went on a date,” Eleanor unknowingly agreeing with their past statements. Josh is the most enormous pain in my ass, I swear to god.
“It wasn’t a date!”
Josh laughed, “That sounds like something someone who went on a secret date would say.” I feel my body warm the more they talk about my “date.” WHICH WASN’T A DATE.
“Well, who paid?” Linda asks.
“Uhh… I did,” I hesitated to answer. “But- it was my idea to go there, so I didn’t want to make her pay anything.”
“Oh! You went with a girl?” Eleanor quietly questions.
“Yes, I needed help with some business stuff, and she was able to help me,” I tell her. “If she hadn’t come in so upset, I would have just been here the whole time.”
The ladies look at each other and then back at me before Eleanor pipes back up, “So what you’re saying is, I just need to come in here crying to score a date with you?”
A laugh falls out of me before I can even process what she’s said; at least someone has a sense of humor about all of this.
“That’s very nice of you to take her to lunch to try and help cheer her up, sweetheart,” Linda tells me. I smile at her compliment before putting away some of the glasses I had been drying. I feel Josh’s presence before he says anything, just setting some dirty glasses in the bin below the counter.
“Is she okay?” he whispers, leaning over to make sure nobody else heard.
“I don’t know, honestly,” I tell him, knowing I sound a little panicked about it.
“Did she say why she was upset?”
I shake my head ‘no’ before leaning over, “I saw one of those printouts you get at funerals in her car, and she was wearing all black, so I’m assuming that she uh—”
Josh covers his mouth and turns to look at me. If there’s one thing I know about my brother, it’s that he will absolutely empathize with anybody about anything.
“Oh shit,” he murmurs under his breath.
I can’t hide the look of concern on my face as we stare at each other for no more than a few seconds.
“She’ll be alright. You probably just caught a wave of grief, is all.” Josh says, grabbing my arm and giving it a few squeezes.
I let out a small breath. He’s right. She probably just hadn’t really let anything out, and I just asked the wrong question.
“You’re right,” I whisper back, patting the back of his hand on my arm, “I’m sure she’ll be fine.” But that isn’t going to stop me from worrying.
⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯
Business picked up shortly after that, with all the tables full and chatter loud. It kept me from my thoughts, which is probably for the best. I’m grateful that Linda and Eleanor came in tonight; they always keep me busy.
I take small breaks from behind the bar to go check on the tables of people, collecting the empty glasses and bottles; sometimes, it’s nice to just mindlessly clean up. I spend a few minutes making small talk with some of the regulars, noticing the time as one of their phones lights up.
11:30 p.m. already? Where did the night go? I leave the table with a slight wave and head back to the bar to leave the dirty glasses. Setting them all on the back counter, I can tell Josh is caught up in whatever the ladies are telling him.
Rounding the corner into the hall, I quickly lock myself away in the bathroom. Pulling my phone out immediately, relief washes over me when I see her name sitting in my notifications. Thank god.
Charlotte: I made it home. Thank you again
Jake: I’m happy to hear that and of course
Jake: I hope everythings okay.
Sliding my phone back into my pocket, I head back into the bar. She’s home, at least there’s that.
“You can go if you want. I can handle the rest of the night,” I tell Josh quietly. He’s been here all day, and I definitely didn’t intend for him to cover the bar for that long.
“Are you sure?”
“Please, go get some sleep or call Quinn. Just get out of here while you can.”
He hands me the towel he was using and mouths ‘thank you’ as he slides by me; I really can’t blame him for being excited to go to bed. It’s been a long day.
The rest of the night seemingly flew by. A fair number of people, including Linda and Eleanor, left by 1 am, which meant I had to clock into my true Customer Service self for the last hour of the night. But it’s always nice when people start to trickle out early so that I can start cleaning up to close and make my life a little easier.
I’m leaning against the back counter talking to the last few customers, and I can’t help but let my mind wander. What if she’s still upset? There’s nothing I can do to help that situation, and that’s okay. Maybe she just needs a friend right now. I could do that? Or maybe she’s already told her friends, and Josh was right. Was she just having a moment? Oh god, what if she has a boyf-
My phone vibrates, pulling my attention away from my internal spiral. 1:57 a.m. Thank god.
Charlotte: It will be, i’m sorry that you had to witness that.
Jake: don’t apologize, i’m glad i was able to help..i hope?
Charlotte: It did help, truly.
That makes my heart feel a little weird. Don’t get ahead of yourself.
Jake: well.. if you need anything, let me know?
I set my phone down underneath the bar and started printing the tabs for the last customers who were sitting. I went through the motions as I put the papers out front of each of them with a pen. I watch as they sign on the line, possibly leaving a tip; either way, I’m not bothered. Leaving with a friendly ‘Have a good one,’ I follow behind them, locking the doors and shutting off the neon lights. Happy to know that I have hardly anything left to do.
The brisk air hits me as I lock the back door, and I practically run up the stairs. Opening the door, it’s quiet. He must be asleep then. I carefully walk through the apartment, cracking his door open to see him tucked away in bed.
“Goodnight, Josh,” I whisper, pulling his door shut gently.
I shut my door as softly as I could, immediately pulled my flannel off, and tossed it on the end of my bed. Followed by my jeans before I grab my phone from my nightstand. 2:34 a.m. I open my messages to see her name sitting there with the blue, unread messages dot glowing back at me.
Charlotte: I may take you up on that.
Why is she still awake? It’s so late.
Jake: I hope you do
Be more obvious, Jake, come on..
Jake: Also why are you still up? lol
It changes from ‘delivered’ to ‘read’ almost instantly. I watch the typing bubbles pop up, making my stomach turn.
Charlotte: I just haven’t been tired enough to sleep, but I think I’m getting there.
Jake: After everything, I figured you’d be exhausted
Charlotte: You would think lol
Dropping my phone next to me. I rub my hands down my face. Trying to get the look on her face just before she cried out of my mind. ‘I’m so sorry’ in her sad little voice, playing on a loop. The sounds of her sobs against my chest, her shaking in my arms. I almost wish that I didn’t know why she was upset now.
Jake: well don’t let me keep you up
This time, my message sat on delivered for a few minutes. I did my daily scroll on mindless apps and looked at the few new photos people had tagged the bar in before she replied.
Charlotte: You’re not a bother at all, but I should probably try to sleep before it gets too much later.
Charlotte: Goodnight Jacob
My mind ran through all the ways that I could reply. How I’d love to tell her that I’m sorry for her loss and that I hope everything gets better. Even that, I had a lovely time talking to someone outside of my family and their partners for more than a few minutes as I served them a beer. It felt like we could be friends even, with the way she didn’t seem phased by any of the vaguely nerdy things I said. Unfortunately, my hands settled on something more straightforward, and I quickly hit ‘send.’
Jake: sleep well, Charlotte

My version of Loonatics Unleashed
This is just my interpretation of this universe of "Loonatics Unleashed", don't take it as a summary of the series or as absolute truth to interpret your version. NO! It's just MY view and you have every right to disagree. Furthermore, there will be low-level words (even though I censor some) and there may be sensitive topics for certain people. Besides, this refers to the universe of Loonatics Unleashed, so for those who don't care, you can skip this blog, but for those who are a fan or if this interests you, you can continue reading.
Part 2
Part 3
So... I was researching hashtags for animated series that I like in general, whether it's the ones I've already mentioned like Steven Universe and The Owl House, or series that a lot of people don't know about, which is the case with the series "Loonatics Unleashed", which (giving a really bad summary-) is one of several Looney Tunes reinventions, but here it's about them in a superhero version. Yeah... The 2000s had that- Jokes aside, I really think it's a good series and I like it, even though the series has its flaws and I recognize that. And, interestingly, @drakepad-luv-2000 made a blog talking about her version of Loonatics Unleashed, with her Headcanons and ideas. So I'm making this blog copying his idea - Just kidding... I asked if I could do it with the same theme and she gave me permission. I'm not that dishonest. So, having given that introduction... Let's move on to my version of Loonatics Unleashed! AH- And if you want to share your opinion, leave it in the comments, but if you want to make a blog with the same theme, give credit to me and @drakepad-luv-2000, ok? Excellent! ^^
I'm going to end up dividing this blog into topics, the first will just be to reformulate the backstory and the second part will talk more about the characters themselves. I won't be able to talk about all the topics, in fact, these three are JUST to start talking about Loonatics Unleashed, there are also the conflicts and evolutions of the characters, their relationships, the villains themselves and even my OCs from this universe (you They thought I wouldn't put my character in, right? Obviously I would...-w-). So, if you feel like it, I can do a part two. But let's get down to business.
Series Plot (Reinvented)
Speaking of the series' plot, Drakepad, when talking about Headcanons, said that she wanted to change the plot a little to the year 2017 because it was more relatable for us, because the series, even though it takes place in the future, for some reason had the technologies of the years 2000 which are currently old... And, honestly, I agree with her point... But I still wanted to get this more futuristic theme for the series, as that's what gives the series a certain charm. So I'm going to mix some ideas... The series will take place in a year that is not exactly specified, but it will be both close to the years 2017 to 2024 (which is the current year that the blog is being published) and also having elements of Cyberpunk with Advanced Technology from science fiction films, also taking some things from hero stories.
The meteor part... It will be discarded because, honestly... How the HELL did the meteor only affect Acmetropolis, but not the whole world?! If it's something like the dinosaur meteor, there would be people with powers ALL OVER THE WORLD. Ok, I think I'm demanding too much logic for a children's series, but still... They could have elaborated more. Back... So, if the meteor was discarded... What caused the characters' powers? And here I get the idea of a classic Anime... Akira!
If you don't know the plot of the exquisite film, it's basically a Japan (or just Tokyo, I don't remember-) in the Cyberpunk future caused after a nuclear explosion (or not, that's a story spoiler-) that made the city become a technological place, however, underneath all the neon and wealth, the poor part of the city ends up suffering a lot from marginality and crime, mainly affecting the young people of this generation who do not respect their elders and do not know the history, they were just born in a country already destroyed. And, in the middle of the story, children with paranormal powers are revealed... I know the story is crazy, but the film is good... It's just a bit violent in many ways-
Returning to the story of Loonatics... I adapted the story of the series a little with some content that she herself showed, like the fact that there are aliens and such... And taking some conspiracies from real life, because it might help... (or not, you know- ). It's also good to get a little of Zadavia's story and her brother's story itself, it's still similar to the original. The main difference is the context of everything... In the beginning, the brothers actually worked together to achieve union with certain planets with the High Council, however they both took care of different things. Zadavia was the more diplomatic person, while Optimatus was the one who took care of the military troops and this made them have different views, but to a certain extent they got along well. However, the day came that the High Council found out about the Milky Way and, consequently, about the planet Earth, so Optimatus and some soldiers went to the planet to try to keep a close eye on the place. But, well... Being human is a complicated being, and if he is already bad with his own species, who will say with Aliens? It didn't happen otherwise, Optimatus and his soldiers were captured and taken to Area 51, where they were tortured and many died in experiments, which is why Optimatus' burns and scars appeared here. He managed to escape, however... He was completely changed and, when he returned, he wanted to annihilate planet Earth and the entire human race for the savagery he went through.
Even hearing the experiences he went through, the High Council denied the proposal for mass annihilation, largely due to Zadavia, who believed that not all humans were bad. Then follows the same idea of Optimatus having kidnapped (in this case, REALLY KILLED) the rest of the council and only being left with Zadavia, who took refuge on Earth because she was one of the few races physically similar to his own, while Optimatus, also trying annihilating the human race, caused an explosion in one of the cities, which was where he was captured, which killed many people, others were left with irreversible damage to their DNA and there were also places still affected by radiation. There were survivors who, in the future, would end up developing mutations in the future that would give them powers, who are our protagonists and also some villains in the series.
In the future, the city managed to rebuild itself, becoming the Acmetropolis that we see today, which on the one hand, became a city full of technology and neon, but on the other, in the poorest and dirtiest regions, it became a place full of crime and both adults and young people traumatized by the "atomic" explosion. The media, at the time, said that it was an explosion caused by an enemy country, but in fact, it was one of Optimatus' attempts to take revenge on humans. While Zadavia? She tried to start life again on Earth, however her alien appearance made her hide her real appearance with a hologram device, making her pass as a mere normal human, both to really start over and to hide from her brother. But, of course... One time or another... He would come back... And until then, she would have to prepare herself too.
And that's kind of the plot of this version, at least, the story of the reason for the technologies and the powers of the protagonists and villains. I don't know if it's too crazy or if it's a bit "cliché", but either way... I feel like I managed to create a good initial plot, in a way, but now, having already mentioned them... Let's talk about the characters.
Main Characters (Reinvented)
I'm going to say right away in this topic that, basically, I'm going to take some ideas from Drakepad, but just as inspiration. Like the fact that Ace and Lexi are brothers here (because considering they are descendants of Bugs Bunny and Lola Bunny, it's really weird for them to ship...), but I want to make it clear that I'm not going to change the gender of the characters. There are also things like the characters being adults in this version and having already gained their powers before the explosion, but certain events were triggers for them to awaken them. I only change gender or sexuality when it really suits and makes sense, but I honestly like to maintain a certain Canon of the series, and in this case it will be the gender of the protagonists (sexuality is another story...7w7). And another thing... Among the protagonists, there will be NO ships, but there may be some implicit insinuations of a certain relationship between the characters, however very subtle. So let's start with Ace and Lexi...
• Ace and Lexi Bunny
The two are twin brothers who were born in Acmetropolis and, when they were little, they were one of several people who survived the explosion event with their parents by pure luck, however, their mother ended up passing away after medical complications caused by the event, which made Lexi become the "woman" of the family, having to take care of the house, while Ace started working with his father and younger brothers to earn a living. Ace and Lexi, prematurely, ended up having to mature very early to be able to help their family members, with the boy being more affected, even more so with his father also being distant from him, making Ace learn to fight to defend his brothers and having to leave many of the dreams and goals aside sometimes, but I always had a fascination for these heroes from old films. Lexi, in turn, learned several household chores, but still managed to discover her passion for music and dance, dreaming of being a songwriter or singer, to try to bring hope to everyone. As adults, while Lexi managed to enter a more musical career, as a music teacher, Ace also tried to follow his dream of being an actor, but he was unable to pursue the career, as they always judged him as someone incapable, making him give up on that altogether. and starting to work as a handyman. Their powers awakened together, on a day at work, Lexi was going to pick up her brother from one of his jobs, when she was approached by some bad-intentioned boys, with Ace trying to defend her, but both being incapacitated. However, when they were going to harm both of them, that was a trigger for their powers to awaken, which scared the guys and made them run away, calling them monsters and freaks. An event that would mark them forever... And that, in the future, would make them approached by Zadavia and make them meet the rest of the team.
• Danger Duck
The duck is one of several orphans left over from the Acmetropolis explosion, having been trapped in the rubble of their home for many days, scared. When he was found, he was sent to an orphanage along with several other children, where he met his best friend and "brother" Pinkster, who was the only person he could really call a friend, as they were both excluded by the other children. for being "animals" among thousands of human children. Until the day came when the last couple arrived at the orphanage, where Duck used the two-sided coin to be adopted by the couple, a fact that he would regret for the rest of his life... After being adopted, his new parents They gave him all the love they could, but Duck still didn't feel like he belonged to that family, after all they were human and he was a duck. This made him very insecure, but he always tried to hide it in some way. As an adult, he left home and tried to find a job so he could support himself and be able to do well in some way, whether it was being rich or having some form of power, but he was always put down and ridiculed. The trigger that made him awaken his powers was in another one of the many horrible jobs he had, in which he was stressed to such a level that he wanted to disappear from there, which made him teleport to another place, which scared everyone and they made they run away. And, just like the Bunny brothers, he found Zadavia and joined the team.
• Slam Tasmanian
There is not much information about his family, but it is known that he was born in Australia into a huge family. In Slam's case, he just went to Acmetropolis to have a better life, but he was affected by the post-explosion radiation that still resided in certain places. He worked as an underground fighter to earn money, which is where his powers awakened and he used them to his advantage. And when they asked about it, the organizers said "Ah, it's a special effect". He was discovered and found by Loonatics and Zadavia, who offered him to join the team.
• Tech E. Coyote
Again, he is another person affected by the explosion, but in Tech's case, the problems would have started a little earlier. He had been diagnosed with autism since he was little, which made him have some problems communicating with people and had restricted interests, which made him suffer a lot of bullying. However, it was with his parents that he developed a passion for technology, building several things with them. When he went to college, he met Mallory, who became her friend (and possible crush...?), but when he found out about her plan, he soon stopped her and reported it to the teachers, leaving him alone again. His powers were slowly awakening, starting with his molecular regeneration, where some injuries and burns were suddenly healed, until he was able to manipulate metal, which was very useful later in his work. He was found by Zadavia and the others who, as he deduced, also gained their powers from the explosion, joining the team as well.
• Rev Runner
Finally, we come to my favorite. Rev has always been a hyperactive child who didn't pay attention to things, mainly because he has ADHD, however his father didn't want to believe that, just saying that "He's just an overly agitated Roadrunner" or "He's just throwing a tantrum" . Rev then continued with this mental condition, without knowing he had it, always pressured by his family to continue their business, especially after the explosion, where they were trying to get back on their feet. Soon Rev gained a younger sister, "Riley", however the little one didn't like acting like a girl and wore much more of Rev's old clothes, with the older brother always calling her by the pronouns "He/His". Soon, "Riley" came out as a trans man and became "Rip", but his father never accepted this and always said that "his daughter" was contradicting him, making the situation at home even worse. When Rev turned 18, he immediately wanted to take his brother with him, but again was stopped by his parents, unfortunately having to go alone. This small event made him, little by little, unlock the powers that, like Tech, were gradually unlocked, and which he used in his work as a delivery man. He was soon found by Loonatics and Zadavia, also joining the team.
Conclusion
And that's it, folks! There are still A LOT of things I still want to cover in my version of Loonatics, but the blog is already getting huge... So I'll leave it for a probable part two. Thank you for reading this blog! BYEEEEE!!!

For your Alphabet Event, may I please request Diluc and Kaeya with S and L? (I'm having so many feels because I got Diluc on standard, and I'm enjoying running him with Kaeya.)
— LETTERS : Logout = How do they react to you not playing for a long time? | Self aware = How do they feel about being controlled?
— CW : Religious themes.
⠀‣ Diluc Logout
. He doesn't worry, he knows that everyone can get busy, you must have a lot to deal with like him, though he isn't sure as to what exactly but he doesn't overthink about this. Unless, you're taking a long time, he knows your schedule, when you usually appear and leave, sometimes it can even take months but if it's longer that's when he will start to be curious and maybe even concerned to your disappearance but he can just hope you're fine, unfortunately he can't do anything else. There's a tiny worry in his head that he won't admit, you lost interest for him, but he'll say that he shouldn't make it about himself since you must be occupied with more important matters, and will act like he doesn't care anyway, he has a lot to do too.
⠀‣ Diluc Self aware
. His house has always been a religious one, remembering his father teaching him about your greatness, so when he was blessed with your presence he felt glad to assist you, like a kid meeting his hero from his father's stories, especially when you're giving him more strength and help to clear up monsters and protect the civilization, he appreciates that. However, he has a lot of work to do, even if his customers, workers or business partner will excuse him as he is serving you, he'd still like if you let him sometimes, there's the knights of favonius for example, he is sure you could find a way to make their existence useful.
⠀
⠀‣ Kaeya Logout
. Nobody knows what you're doing outside of using them, but he thinks you're simply having your sweet free times, when not helping or entertaining his people, the anemo archon is getting wasted with him at the bar, so maybe you're doing the same or perhaps you have other duties to attend, but really nothing to worry about. Even if you take a long time that just makes curious about what you're doing, returning to just go back? Quite strange, he'll have to do his own investigation.
⠀‣ Kaeya Self aware
. It isn't like he is busy anyway, and he is quite curious about you, why exactly using him and make him stronger, for what purpose exactly? And why making yourself known in this way instead of directly descending into Teyvat? But he doesn't complain, he enjoys the company and the help, the only problem is that running all around and fighting can get tiring, he might make that known by attacking less strongly so you change him by another vessel. He'll want to go back on adventure eventually, just let him take his energy back, after all he still has a lot to discover about you.

THIS BLOG HAS MOVED TO @lcftyambiticons-archive !! moving back to this blog!
♔ ❛ 𝑰nd. &. private 25+ 𝐁𝐀𝐋𝐃𝐔𝐑'𝐒 𝐆𝐀𝐓𝐄 roleplay blog for ℒORROAKAN ; self-appointed MASTER OF RAMAZITH'S TOWER &. ARCHMAGE of Baldur's Gate. TRIGGER WARNING for dark / adult content. SECONDARY MUSE: Rolan ( on request only! ) RULES AND ABOUT UNDER THE CUT.
MEMES | HEADCANONS | GALLERY | VERSES
STORIES: ✍︎ ℳEMORIES.
RULES.
GNEREAL
25+ ONLY. This blog is written by an adult for other adults, so please act accordingly.
I'm careful about how I curate my online space. The block button and I are besties. Muns who engange in OOC drama, OOC bigotry and LGBTQA+ phobia of any kind, callout posts, OOC political discourse will be blocked on sight. I also tend to steer clear of writers who have lots of DNIs or triggers.
This blog is anti-censorship. Fiction =/= reality. If you don't like someone's content, block them. Protecting your online space is a mature thing to do, and I promise I'll 100% support that. What's NOT okay is trying to police adults on what to write on their blogs (go touch some grass).
Triggers you may encounter on this blog: violence, murder, abuse, gore, monsters, gaslighting, manipulation, cults, canon-typical fantasy racism and overall offensive / problematic themes. Triggers won't always be tagged. If you're triggered by any of these, this blog isn't for you. I love angst and exploring dark content!! If you have any triggers, let me know.
Communication is key! <3 Writing is so much more fun if the muns get along. I promise, I don't bite!!
INTERACTION
This is a private blog simply because I can't spread myself too thin. I'm particularly selective when it comes to mumu-blogs featuring muses from fandoms outside the DnD / BG3 verse. If I follow you, I have read your rules and want to interact! Don't be shy <3 I will also assume that if you follow me back, you're fine with me sending you memes / tagging you in starters / sliding into your IMs to plot.
Personals are welcome to follow, but no touchy my RP stuff.
If you're a RP blog, I'd love it if you follow with the intention of interacting. Also, if you followed me first, I'd appreciate it if you reached out first to start things off — I'll do my best to do the same! I feel like this approach makes it easier to get interactions going.
If we're not mutuals: You're welcome to send headcanon and plot-idea asks! If I can take on another thread, I'll let you know. <3
Formatting: For accessibility reasons, I won't follow if you use spaced out words and punctuation, all caps or all lowercase (for entire paragraphs).
MEMES. YES! If you want to continue a meme, go right ahead!
Plotting: Hmu with a plot idea anytime! I'm not a fan of plotting out every detail, but Lorroakan is a particularly uncooperative muse. Having a general idea of where we want this to go really helps to keep the ball rolling, even if we end up going in a different direction!
SHIPPING / RELATIONSHIPS
This blog is multiship, male lean. Fair warning; Lorroakan isn't particularly interested in romance or sex, and he's a prick. I'm open to shipping, BUT ships will most likely be toxic / one-sided, particularly with Rolan (with the potential to develop into something wholesome over time!), and slow burn. By slow I mean glacial. In most cases, at least.
I won't write smut on the dash. The steamy stuff will be moved to discord or IMs.
Pre-established relationships: Yes. While first meeting or "they have been business partners" threads can be fun, they often take a while to get juicy, or they end up fizzling out. What if your muse was Lorroakan's childhood bestie? Another (former?) apprentice? A fellow scholar of the arcane he used to work with? An ex?
MUN NOTES
Mun =/= Muse, I obviously don't condone any of Lorroakan's bs IRL. While I will absolutely respect your boundaries OOC (if you talk to me beforehand about them, pretty please with a cherry on top), I won't water him down.
I have the memory of a soggy pickle. If you don't want me to interact with you, hard-block.
Activity: Sometimes I'll reply super fast, sometimes it takes me ages, and sometimes I can only focus on specific threads / muses.
Discord is available for moots I interact with frequently.
They / Them, hatched 1995, dog parent, hyperfixating on problematic villains, D&D player.
𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐄
GENERAL Lorroakan is in his mid-late 30s, fairly young considering his achievements (mostly obtained through deceitful methods).
He presents himself as the great archmage of Baldur's Gate, but while he is a compentent wizard and keen enchanter, he is nowhere near as powerful as he claims to be.
Lorroakan laid claim to Ramazith Tower after its previous owner mysteriously disappearend, and he refuses to share the knowledge it holds (at least for free).
He is originally from Athkatla, one of the wealthiest cities in Faerun, but he grew up in the shadows of its splendor. His family (mother, father, two sisters, four brothers) could barely make ends meet, but Lorroakan has always been ambitious and harbored dreams of one day being just as wealthy and powerful as the elite of the Gem District. The practice or use of arcane magic is explicitly illegal within the city of Athkatla, but that didn't stop him; he practiced in secret whenever he could get his hands on a spellbook.
PERSONALITY IN A NUTSHELL . . . as interpreted by the mun ; Ambitious, diligent, intelligent, clever, creative ; selfish, arrogant, manipulative, power-hungry, petty, vain.
He has a superiority complex ; he is vain, has an overly high opinion of himself, makes boastful claims that aren't backed up by reality, has a habit of putting down those who outshine him.
(The way I see it) Lorroakan isn't a straight up villain. However, his ambitions and narcissistic nature drive him to commit morally questionable, and at times, outright despicable acts.
CHARACTER STUDIES / RELEVANT HEADCANONS: bad money habits more about his past & why he is how he is

❤️ Matchup trade for @imjustabeanie ❤️
Author's Note: I'm sorry it took a while, I really wanted to be sure of those choices. You have an amazing and complex personality and I enjoyed talking to you in private!
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
I ship you with...Kakyoin Noriaki!
- At first, he would be drawn to you because, in some aspects, you're a bit similar. He thinks that this will be a plus in getting along with you. But once the differences arise, he keeps getting surprised (in a good way) and getting more intrigued, as a result.
- You two are respectful to each other and that makes him feel more comfortable around you. But, however comfortable feels when he's with you, he still is a bit reserved. Both of you are a bit reticent about opening up. A slow burn.
- First of all, he sees a good friend in you. Any romantic feelings will be considered later on.
- Kakyoin gets easily flustered by your playful attitude around friends. Also, he's pretty confused when he sees you bite your lip so often. He'll try to figure out the reason for it without acting like a creep. He's just naturally curious.
- He gets a bit concerned when you isolate yourself from time to time. He starts overthinking about it and how he can show you that he's there for you if needed. He has expressive eyes and you'll start noticing worry in them.
- He's the most loyal both as a friend and as a partner. Loyal and extremely careful of your needs. Whether it is some space or some cuddles, he's there. He just cares about you so much and wants you to feel alright.
- Kakyoin is very attracted by your honesty, ambition, and ability to speak up for yourself. He feels that he lacks some of these traits and wants to learn from you. He won't say it, of course, but he'll pay attention to your reactions.
- Expect getting random gifts from him, delivered by Hierophant Green. He thinks he's smooth. And all of those gifts are in tune with your aesthetics, he pays attention to the little details. You'll get books, new video games for you to play with him, trinkets that remind him of you with stars on them or marine life themed, etc.
- I can't put into words how thrilled he'll be to share some of your hobbies. Above all, he'll always ask what you're reading and will listen closely, visibly interested. You two will have amazing conversations. You'll learn new things from each other. Plus, I get the feeling that he also likes stories with mad and ambitious scientists.
- Can I just add how much of a power couple you would look when you're both earning sunglasses? Damn. But leaving this aside, he loves your aesthetics.
Demon Slayer
I ship you with... Sanemi Shinazugawa!
- He likes the way you carry yourself at first. He thinks you're strong and resilient. However, after a while, deep down he slowly becomes suspicious of you. You never seemed to let out any sign of vulnerability and that can't be real, he thinks. He starts to pay attention a lot more and realizes that you're bottling up everything. He does that too and knows it's not easy and it's a habit more or less.
- Sanemi will never force you to share anything with him, about you, your past, or any concerns. He'll just sit next to you, minding his own business and cleaning his katana as a silent reminder that he's there if you need to let it all out or distract yourself.
- He also doesn't open up at all about his past or his true self. However, I can see him letting his walls down in front of you when you patch yourselves up after a tough mission against demons. It's a precious bonding moment.
- He is also reckless but the difference is that you're a bit more calculated than him so pull him back a little if he goes off the limit. He's not going to like it, but deep down he knows that it's sometimes needed and he even feels somehow grateful that someone is there to temper him a bit.
- Sanemi is all about duty but also a little bit of mischief. That means he can't hide a smirk when you rile up other people. He's even going to team up with you to verbally destroy those who tried to tease you or other bullshit.
- I think that bit by bit as he discovers how competitive you are, he gets extremely attracted to you. He likes this trait but also finds it a challenge at the same time.
- It saddens him to know that you don't consider yourself a good person but won't admit it. At least not directly. He's going to protect you from risky hits during battles, arguing that you're much of a better person than him and so you should watch out for yourself more. After that phrase during the battle, he won't say anything else that day.
- He sees that you can handle challenges properly so Sanemi will be thrilled to train with you, however, expect him not to hold back.
- You value honesty? That's exactly what you'll get from him. Cuddles? Be extremely patient about that. It will probably happen for the first time when he's exhausted, too tired to go against the idea.
- He is genuinely baffled when he hears you speak in multiple other foreign languages. You'll see him stop in his tracks frowning, eyes wide. He'll ask if you dared to make a joke about him in another language. lol

hi vince, your posts about dostoyevsky have made me want to read some of his works; any suggestions on where to start? hope you're having a lovely day <3
hiii, Finn!!! sorry for the late reply, I've been kinda busy and really wanted to give an in-depth response (and I also knew that once I started talking about Dostoyevsky, I would hardly be able to stop lol). I hope you're having a lovely day as well <3
I'll give you 4 of his books that I've read so far that might be a nice place to start, and a little spoiler-free review, so you can see which one appeals to you the most
okay so the first novel I've read by him was Crime and Punishment (1866), I think that's where a lot of people start. and tbh it's a good place to start! it's not extremely long, about 500-600 pages (depending on the edition) and I think it's definitely one of his more accessible works. in the story we follow our main guy, Rodion Romanovich Raskolnikov, a poverty-stricken ex-student who has the vague plan to murder and rob an old pawnbroker. during the book we then follow his mental anguish and moral dilemmas. we also get introduced to an amazing cast of characters (one of them being Razumikhin, who is the best friend ever and whom I have had such a crush on ever since I first read c&p lol <3). the psychology in all Dostoyevsky's books is amazing, but this is the book that first introduced me to it. what I wasn't expecting when I first read this, is that it's also honestly really funny at times, like there were literally times where I had to laugh out loud. other than that it's also just really interesting to get in the head of our main guy, and the book also discusses (and by doing so ultimately criticises) some theories that were getting popular at the time about utilitarianism, free will, who stands above the law, etc. other fascinating themes are guilt, morality, poverty, family, power dynamics, mental illness, religion etc.
this was one of the first proper classics I had ever read, so at first I was scared that it might be too difficult for me and that I wouldn't be able to get through it. but honestly, once I started caring about the characters, I just wanted to keep reading. and in the end I found it to be a fascinating and really moving story. (I also read this during a time in my life where I seriously struggled with my mental health, and not to be dramatic but crime and punishment really helped me a lot, so just for that it'll always have a special place in my heart)
then there's also The Brothers Karamazov (1879). the book I'm currently the most obsessed with, I'm sure you've already seen me posting about it lmao. personally I think this is Dostoyevsky his best work, it's also the last book he wrote before he died. a lot of themes from his previous works make a comeback in this one and get more polished and perfected. it's so fascinating, and moving, it made me cry and laugh and think A LOT (I mean I haven't been able to stop thinking about it). HOWEVER it's also about a 1000 pages with a couple characters that love to monologue, which makes it not the most accessible, so keep that in mind lol.
the plot is basically about four (half) brothers and their piece of shit father who dies (him dying isn't a spoiler, since it's said in the first sentence, but fair warning, it doesn't happen until like halfway through). the four brothers (three recognised sons, and one bastard son), are all very different in personality and belief, but I love them all so much. they're so interesting and well-written, and so are some other characters as well!! I could talk for hours about all the characters and their dynamics, but I won't do that here. but if you are interested in reading this book and would like a list with the names + a little bit of info about all the characters in this book, just let me know! I made one for a friend of mine and could easily translate it to English and send it to you. I definitely recommend keeping a list of some sort with the names of these characters, since it's easy to loose track of them all. (this goes for all his books btw)
I couldn't possibly summ up all the themes in this book, it's about family, it's about humanity, it's about god, it's about suffering, it's about children, it's about love, it's about Alyosha visiting a fuckton of people, and so on.
of course there are some aspects and ideals in it that I don't agree with, but at it's core there are some really beautiful and meaningful things that I took away from this story that will probably stay with me my entire life. and for that reason and because I'm absolutely obsessed with the characters, it's one of my favourite books of all-time.
The Idiot (1869). I love this weird little book so much. (I say little, but it's about 600 pages) Dostoyevsky's goal was to write about how a christ-like hero would interact with 19th century Russia, but what it comes down to however is just a sweet guy trying his best and having an awful time.
there's pretty much no plot, just people visiting others people, causing drama, and I love it. mostly because of the characters!! the characters are amazing!!! even the side characters are so complex and all over the place and weird, but also feel so real, it's great! the main character is Myshkin who spend years in an asylum in Switzerland and is now returning to Russia. the title of the book refers to him, because a lot of people simply see him as an idiot, (which is so unfair!, he's not!!) personally I think it's a really interesting portrayal of how people with disabilities/neurodiversities are viewed and treated. the guy canonically has epilepsy (just like Fyodor Dostoyevsky himself btw) and this is probably one of the most sympathetic portrayals of epilepsy during that time period, despite the harsh title of the book. (he also has a lot of characteristics of autism in my opinion, even tho obviously autism diagnosis didn't exist back then).
and again, the other characters are also amazing and messed up and complex and well-written and !!!! one or these characters is Nastasya Filippovna. all I'll say for now is that I love her so much and that's she's done nothing wrong ever in her life (no but really, she's a very complex character, who has suffered a lot and is allowed to be a messed up person because of it). there are also like two love triangles in this book, but actual triangles, meaning the relationship in one of them between the two guys and in the other between the two girls is about just as intense and fascinating as the guy-girl relationships. this book is fun at times, has some really interesting discussions at other times (some of which were very personal to Dostoyevsky himself) and then there are a couple of scenes that will probably haunt me for the rest of my life.
okay, last one: Notes From Underground (1864). this one is by far the shortest, around a 150 pages. it has an iconic opening line that goes: "I am a sick man, I am a spiteful man, I am an unattractive man, I believe my liver is diseased." (honestly this book has a lot of really good lines)
it's basically just a diary of a very pathetic man. at times I hate him, other times I relate to him deeply, I make fun of him a lot and I can't help but feel really really sorry for him. the book consists of two parts, the first part is some of the fictional author his philosophical ideas, how he sees life etc. it's very fascinating and you already get a glimpse of what the character is like, as he tries to impress his imaginary audience. the second part are retellings of events from his life when he was younger. these made me laugh at times, feel so much secondhand embarrassment, sometimes dislike him a lot and pity him even more.
while this is the shortest out of the four, it's not the most accessible. and the fictional author his self deprecation and bleak outlook makes this book sometimes difficult to read.
other than that I've also heard really good things about Demons!! I'm probably going to read the book this summer.
for all these book, if needed, I'd definitely advise to maybe look up the trigger warnings. some of the top of my head are: suicide, animal cruelty, abuse, talk of rape, talk of CSA, lot's of religious talk, and unfortunately also antisemitism at times and just some really biased religious and russocentric views (which is why I'd never blame someone for not liking or not wanting to read Dostoyevsky)
okay, this was A LOT lmao, but I hope you find a book that interests you. of course it's always possible that Dostoyevsky just isn't your cup of tea, which would be totally fair. but if you do end up reading one of his books, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it!!
#ask#the thing about these books is that they all just really managed to touch me in a really profound way that i cannot express#even if i were to write a million words on it#vince talks#finn <3

7, 22 & 37 for Cady :3
Thanks Red, these were really fun to think about. I'm gonna do this out of order to put the cut lower in the post.
22. What does your character like in other people? He likes people who don't take themselves too seriously. They don't have to be jokesters, but they gotta be a little loose. He had trouble getting along with Rodney at first because he read Rodney as a self-serious asshole. He's incredibly weak to tattoos and piercings and will immediately try to make friends with anyone who crests his very low "cool" threshold with those (read: Tristan and Declan). He also likes people who are passionate about something so he can egg them on, and people who can make unexpected connections in their casual jokes that catch him by surprise.
37. Is your character more concerned with defending their honor, or protecting their status? He cares a little bit about his status as Cool Guy and also Captain but honor matters way more to him. If he acts honorably and people perceive him that way then obviously he's a Cool Guy and someone people want to keep doing business with. He loves playful insults but won't tolerate people actually talking shit (well, maybe unless it's true). Occasionally he does run into trouble where defending his honor or someone else's costs him a customer or an opportunity or lands him in a "sir this is a Wendy's" moment but he mostly just shrugs it off. (But there has to be at least one "this is a Wendy's" moment that he looks back on with embarrassment even if he still thinks he was right.)
7. Does your character have recurring themes in their nightmares? I'm pretty early in the planning stages for this story, but I have a tendency to forget about dreams and nightmares so this was interesting to dig into. Before his disappearance, Cady rarely had nightmares, and they were in response to weird experiences or spooky media. Now they're much more common and they do have a central recurring theme: that in the emptiness of space, no one can hear you scream.
There are two general forms of the nightmare. The first is a sort of abstract one, the kind you also have in normal dreams where you're on a boat but it's also your dad's Wal-Mart. Here, the store is meant to be the planet he's stuck on. There's some kind of monster somewhere in it, and he's been around the store a thousand times but there are no doors, and he's not even certain that there's anyone else inside, because they seem to disappear if he looks away too long. He ends up on the PA system, trying to page for someone, anyone, using his calm captain voice, while he can feel the unseen, perhaps unknowable monster getting closer. The dream ends shortly before it reaches him, as the absolute certainty he is going to die settles in.
This second one is a bit more graphic, so mild warning for claustrophobia, suffocation/difficulty breathing, and, uh, impending death.
The second builds on his real experience sitting in an ejected racer seat, which is its own little short-term life-support capsule. Sometimes he's on the surface of the planet, sometimes out in space, but its distress signal keeps droning out with no response. He knows that someone's supposed to save him, but they're just not coming. They're not picking up his signal. Maybe it's blocked by the landscape and there's not enough of an atmosphere for it to reflect off of. Maybe their equipment is just not listening. But the tone goes on and on and the capsule, which is literally only a bit larger than the seat itself, starts to seem smaller and smaller, like it might crush him before anyone arrives. It inevitably starts to crack at the seams. The smallest gap between the pieces is enough to let the air out. The low oxygen warning lights come on. He's breathing evil, thin atmosphere, an unrealistic but insidious green that feels like it's infecting his lungs with every breath, or trying and failing to breathe vacuum. Now his lungs feel smaller and smaller until there's no space for air—there's no air—and he knows with leaden certainty that this wasn't how things were supposed to go, but it's too late now.
Then he wakes up and wishes like hell he remembered in the dream how it was going to end so maybe it would be less horrifying.
#Cady isn't based on anyone in particular. he's probably most like James Holden from the Expanse but like#his sense of honor/morality is exactly like Luffy's lol#I think when anyone on the crew hears the intentionally calm Captain Voice they're like wow okay things are Very Bad#ask games#hard mode ask game#c: Cady#wip: nicea#rose brambles

Something to Consider
Chapter One | Sometime In 2007
Chapters| One Two Three Four Five
Synopsis| Having a special technique that hasn’t been passed down in over a 100 years, you’ve been amongst the strongest since birth but with no clan of your own to clam this technique. It causes the Clans to offer arranged marriages left and right. Overwhelmed parents turn to your aunt's clan and the Zenin’s are happy to step in, in hopes you will pass down the technique down to them.
Whole story contains themes| arranged marriage, angst, violence, death, swearing? sexual harassments(nothing crazy) and of course SMUT.
Authors note| This is about the road to marrying Gojo, it’s gonna be long and filled with angst because I'm mean. This story starts with the reader being around 11ish. Has a little bit of manga spoilers from vol.8 because it has Toji. Hope you like it. This is written for my two whore best friends. :)
Sitting in the back of a black sedan, the rain and some random talk radio station playing softly. The sounds of the rain on the roof made you sleepy. You let out a sigh, pressing your head against the window, watching as the water droplets race. You had just gotten out of school when you heard your mothers fussing through the thick wood of the front door. Not even getting the chance to greet her, she was already on you about changing into something nice; tossing clothes around in a hurry. Your father on the other hand was calm, casually chatting with you while your mother rushed around in a tizzy.
You didn’t have the time to ask what this was about or why you needed to hurry before your mother pushed you into the car with Suzuki. Suzuki was your personal driver and bodyguard appointed by the Zenin clan. She was always so kind and patient, putting up with your snappy comments and pre-teen attitude. Even when you were being difficult she never got upset with you. You never understood why she was appointed to such a low grade job. She was incredibly strong. What was all the fuss about you and your technique anyway?
Suzuki taking you to the Zenin Estate after school was a common occurrence, usually it was for training but today it seemed more important than just that. You were your parents' prized possession because the Zenin clan convinced them of it. Your parents weren’t sorcerers but your mothers family was long ago. They possessed The Divine Panther, it hadn’t been passed down in over 100 years and by some miracle you got it. The Zenin’s took the opportunity, hoping you would pass it down into their clan but that wasn’t completely up to them. Not like they treated you like you were special. Pushing you so hard to master your technique while most of them looked down upon you. Most likely because your cursed energy was “weird” as Noaya said. Most of the youth are scared to train with you. So why train when everyone is already scared of you in the first place? The Zenin’s didn’t even fully understand your technique or so they say but they knew you were strong. Special grade strong, up there with the six eyes. “But just appearing strong isn’t the same as being strong.” Noaya would always say to you. I’m sure someone older and wiser than him told him that. Those words are far too sophisticated for a boy like him.
“Where are we even going, Suzuki-san?” you ask, moving your head from the window.
She looked at you through the rearview mirror as she spoke. “We are headed to the Zen’in residence, they wanted you to attend a clan meeting. Did your parents not tell you?”
You shake your head, crossing your arms. “No, they were too busy picking out clothes and telling me how to properly greet people, like I don't know how to.” Shifting your kimono as you grumble. “I’m not even a Zenin. Why do they want me there?”
“I’m sure they just want to include you.” She smiled in assurance.
She wasn’t wrong, but for some reason you didn’t like the feeling you got. It wasn’t that they wanted to include you in a clan meeting. The clan meeting was about you. They wanted you to marry one of theirs for the gain of power but they weren’t the only clan that wanted it. It was like a bidding war. It wasn’t really up to them, it was up to your parents in the end and the Zenin’s would do anything to sway them their way. A nice home, the best schools, private drivers. It was all just a ploy to get them to agree to an arranged marriage.
The soft sound of the radio and the rain made the ambiance of the car relaxing, distracting you from the scenery slowly turning into landmarks you didn’t recognize, the winding road getting more and more wooded as she drove.
“Well, now where are we going?” You question, bringing your attention up to her. “You’re not gonna murder me right?”
Your comment makes her chuckle. “No, I wouldn't dream of it!” The car turned into a long driveway. “I forgot to mention I had to stop at Jujutsu High to pick up Gojo Satoru.”
“A Gojo? I thought you worked for the Zenins?” Your little eyebrows furrow as you settle back into your previous position against the window. Looking at the well manicured landscaping as The car comes to a stop outside a large stair walkway that looks like it leads far into the woods.
“I work for a few people. I have to drop him off for something.”
“Something? Like what?”
“Well, that is not my business.” She shrugged.
Your attention was brought to the stairs, watching as a tall, white haired boy ran down the steps with his hands in his black uniform. He looked smug wearing sunglasses in the rain. His cursed energy grew stronger as he approached the car. Your head turned back to the window as he got closer. Seconds later the car door opened. Watching his reflection in your window as he got in. His cursed energy was strong, stronger than yours. You could see him look over at you through the reflection of the car window.
“Oh man, it's really pouring isn't it Suzuki-San?” He said, leaning forward to greet her.
He smelled like expensive cologne and hard candies. Almost like he had melted ones in his pocket. Suzuki turned around to look at him with an expression you have never seen.
“Hello, Gojo.” She smiled, leaning her arm on the middle console.
Your head still resting against the car window, watching the interaction. Pre-teen angst stirring around your aura. This isn’t worth missing your favorite show and you have to talk to people you don’t really like in the most uncomfortable kimono to ever exist. Now you have to watch Suzuki swoon over this Gojo guy. You had a good feeling he might be annoying, usually you’re pretty good at reading people and he seemed full of himself. The whole thing makes you want to just jump out of the car.
He leaned back in his seat as Suzuki started driving. He gave off an interesting energy to say the least, intimidating in a way but you felt a childishness that radiated off of him making you assume he couldn’t be much older than you. Not only that, he was texting someone; the clicking of his phone slightly irritating. Yeah, you weren’t a fan. He definitely was going to be annoying.
“You shouldn’t run down stairs with your hands in your pockets.” You stated.
Watching his fuzzy reflection pause, his attention moving to you. A smile grew on his face as he looked at you. All angsty and pretending to be uninterested. Don’t think you're the only one who can feel cursed energy and read people. He felt yours far before he got into the car and by the looks of it, you would be fun to mess with.
“Hm and why is that?” He placed his phone in his lap. What an interesting way to greet a stranger.
“You really don’t know?” You looked over at him with a scowl, only to be met with an amused smile and sunglasses.
“Nope.” he shook his head. “You shouldn’t start a conversation so harshly. Maybe try with your name next time.”
Oh, another Naoya? Fun. You thought. The way he spoke was like he was mocking you. So smug like you should be grateful to be in his presence and you couldn’t stand it. “You shouldn’t wear sunglasses inside, it's rude, plus it's raining.”
His eyebrows shot up in mock surprise. “It is raining, good job kid.”
“Whatever.” You turned away. Mostly to stop yourself from starting something that would get you in trouble.
“You know.” he pondered, finger tapping his chin. “If you treat people this way, you won't find a husband.” You felt him lean over to you, hand resting uncomfortably close to your leg but moving away would let him know you were affected by his actions and the more you react the more they keep being annoying. You learned that from Naoya.
“Oh, I don’t want one.” You stated, looking at him. “I-um.” The second part of your snarky comment dying on the tip of your tongue. The edges of his lips turned up into a cheeky smirk, crystal blue eyes and white eyelashes peaking over the rim of his black sunglasses. In all honesty It made you shut up, his closeness made you lose your edge and Gojo ate it up. He noticed how your posture changed ever so slightly, shifting around nervously as you tried to remember your sarcastic comment. Gojo was right, you would be fun to tease.
“Go on?” He teased, leaning ever so slightly closer to you. You didn’t answer. Scrunching your nose at him. His close proximity made you blush. Why did that make you nervous? It’s not like he was that handsome. (This is a lie, he is very handsome. Unfortunately.)
“Satoru.” Suzuki’s soft voice cut in, her head shaking lightly as she looked at the pair of you through her mirror. Her expression was sharp as Gojo made eye contact with her. He then looked back at your flush face before falling back against his seat with a sigh. Suzuki’s looks speak a thousand words but she must have known him well for her to address him like that. You were just grateful she saved you, the blush on your face fading while the sounds of talk radio filled the silence in the car.
Your thoughts brought you to the Zen’in clan meeting. You really didn’t care too much about these things, everyone was always so pretentious, always going on about something you pretended to listen to. Noaya was the worst, of the younger ones that is. Always bullying everyone, especially the girls. He was so vulgar about it too but It didn’t bother you the way he wanted or at least you didn’t show it. Plus it was too much fun to watch his reactions. Boys like him need to be kicked down a peg or two anyway. A/N:(Or be pegged..hehehe)
“Suzuki-san? Do you think Noaya will be there today?” You question breaking the silence.
“I’m sure he will, why do you ask?”
“No reason.” you sigh.
Gojo glanced over at you. “Is that your boyfriend or sumin’?”
“Ew No.” You shook your head. “He calls me a dog or... other things.. So, I bite him.”
“Ya’ one of those weird kids?” He chuckled.
“No. But if you're going to call someone a dog, don't act surprised when they bite you.” You shrug. He was silent, looking at you over his glasses with amusement— you did have a point.
“You’re kinda proving my point here.”
“If you knew him you would understand, he definitely deserves it.”
“Mhm.” Gojo nodded, turning back to his phone. It was quiet again before he spoke.
“Well, he's probably just got a crush on you.”
“Ugh, I hope not.” You say with disgust. “Plus, I don't think you would say the things he says to someone you like.”
“Like what?”
“I’d rather not repeat them.”
The car parking ended your conversation. You had stopping in a part of town you’ve never seen, It was fairly creepy. No bus stops or open stores, just abandoned stores and warehouses. You heard Gojo let out a small sigh before he unbuckled and opened the door, the sound of the rain filled the car as he got out.
“Where are you going?” you ask. “Why are you getting out here? It's creepy.”
You had leaned over the middle seat to speak to Gojo, looking up at his tall frame as he stepped out. “Wait? Don’t tell me you actually like me?” He said, you could practically hear the smirk on his lips as he spoke.
“No, I’m just concerned for my own safety.” You said, smiling up at him a teasing glint in your eye. He chuckled, straightening his jacket as he bent down to look at you. Your Seat-Belt stretched as far as it could go in to speak with him. And for the second time since meeting him he makes you blush. His eyes locked with yours as he spoke, his tone no longer filled with its usual teasing nature.
“That's probably a good thing.” He smiled, swinging the door shut.

Dumb HBCU/WR movie ramblings
Ok so I've been thinking a bit about the HBCU and a potential Wacky Races movie in development a bit and I got a lot of shit to say about this so buckle your seatbelts and hold on to your hats as you witness my incoherent ramblings and fanon headcanons.
So it pretty much agreed upon that any next installment of the HBCU is gonna take a while to come out considering how WB has put the HBCU in standstill for their dr seuss cinematic universe and liveaction-animation hyprid movies. Hell even the director of Scoob said that. The possibility of us getting another cinematic HB film in the next 5 years are close to none but if we were to get a movie it would probably be wacky races themed. Why? Cuz the Scoob film left off with Dick escaping prison with the wacky races on his mind (or in this case, his prison cell) and it would make sense for WB to continue the HBCU (which they probs don't plan to) with a character we are pretty familiar with and the only likable character in Scoob. Which begs the question, where would the plot go narrative wise?
Dick probably won't be the main character of the story but I can practically guarantee it will be Penelope Pitstop. I mean they already got concept art and i think they have models too that were unused and the people on scoob said they didn't add her to the film because they planned for her to be part of something bigger. Basically, I bet my left arm that the protag will be penny because apart from dick and muttley, she was the most memorable character of the show. We must also consider how they would tie up other hanna barbera characters and properties into a WR film thats part of an HBCU installment.
So basically, with this in mind I have created a few theoretical plots/premises that might happen in a WR movie
1. A Hooded Claw driven girl power film
Claw is an og and classic antagonist for penny, and if they really wanted to make a film centered on her the hooded claw is the perfect character to play the bad guy. I feel like the plot would go a bit like this: In order to kill penny and get her inheritance, Claw sponsored/set up the wacky races to kill penelope under the guise that good ol uncle sylvester was supporting Penny's girl power dreams to be a racer. Basically, he acts all supportive and shit for her to chase her dreams and enter this new race but under the mask actually set the whole thing up as an elaborate plan to kill her.
He lets the most deranged, insane and wacky people enter the race, from a gangster mob, to literal monsters to a pilot racer and a military tank duo with guns and canons thinking that Penny's survival chances in this race will be close to none, especially with it being a sausage fest and him not believing in girl power. He even hires a professional mercenary with an evil dog to help kill penny in the WR (yes, dick, and yes he was sucessful at killing the pigeon in the scoobverse so he is actually considered quite the exceptional and competent villian in universe).
The rest of the film would be her racing and doing good despite all the odds and ends at her winning the grand finale, much to the frustration of Claw.Basically a film of empowerment for young girls to enjoy. This plot would probably be the most faithful to the original WR and most likely be a prequel to Scoob since the movie implies that Dick was doing all the skull shit after the wacky races sooo yeah.
There could also be a peter/penny subplot, perhaps not as romantic interests but as platonic friends or just some flirty exchanges between them, as well as a dick subplot with him not liking to race much at first and doing it for just the money but coming to love it as the film progresses. This plot would also probably be the least HBCU type film since it is mostly WR based and by nature would already have a ton of characters but they might try to replace some of the less memorable characters with other HB characters that are a bit more memorable than the boring racers but not as well known to have their own films (could see the country bears replace luke and blubber bear as well as any other character replace the lumberjack guy).
2. The Great Race inspired film
So we kinda get the idea in scoob that dick hasn't been in the Wacky races for a while after muttley disappeared and all the skull business happened but as we all know, dick was the character who made the races actually interesting. So the execs couldnt just have the wacky races without dick so what did they do ? They got a doppleganger of course, that being this boyyyy
Basically, the Wacky Races executives used Dick's way less famous twin brother the Dread Baron and his dog friend Mumbly to fill in for the two once they realized Dick wasn't going to come back after prison. They were wrong of course but dick doesnt know he's been replaced and escapes thinking he was going to join the races again but when he does find out it bruises his ego a lot.
This idea technically serves better as a subplot and could be woven into the hooded claw story above if we just changed a few elements( make it happen after scoob instead of before, perhaps DB and Mumbly were hired by claw to kill penny and dick has to begrudgingly help penny and peter to get his place back in wacky races). After plot stuff happens it ends with dick being in the WR again and DB finding employment elsewhere in the Laffalympics which can easily tie into the established HBCU since it has the yogi gang, mystery gang, captain caveman and the teen angels gang and blue falcon and dynomutt.
Does this theoretical plot draw a lot from my personal desire to see DB just once. Yes. But do i care. No
3. The super HBCU plot(probs the most likely)
So the end credits basically tell us that after the scoob movie that the mystery gang and other HB characters joined the falcon force and are fighting baddies and crap.
Dick has escaped so they will probably start looking for him and in order to do so they get tangled up in the wacky races. Dick isnt the main antagonist tho( he's either trying to sabotage the other wacky racers because he is salty af or begrudgingly has to help out the heros or main antagonist) but the falcon/scooby gang discover a huge conspiracy happening within the wacky races that goes something like this: this race was set up kind of like a scavenger hunt across the world or the US to find mcguffins that are actually really powerful and crap when assembled, which is what the villain was trying to do because evil reasons. Basically wacky raceland done funnier or just Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Steel Ball Run.
In this premise not only would the og wacky racers and scoob cast be in it but i bet there would also be a bunch of cameos and references to other HB characters and they might even join in on the action and be racers too. I have no real clue on who the main baddie would be but I think it would be a johnny quest bad guy or something:( in the end credits they are teaming up with Quest industries after all).
I feel like the entire vibe of a premise like this would be very mad max like but without all the apocalypse stuff and just pure unrefined insanity. I kinda based these ideas off some of the unused concept art in scoob and I'm pretty sure the gang and the falcon force would team up with penny cuz they were planning to do so in the og concept art.
I have a few other ideas in my head but those arent fully developed but I might post them one day lol. But yeah, thanks for listening to my dumb shit lol

Underwing Challenge Day 6 + Day 7
6. What does your portfolio look like? Talk about as many other WIPs as you’d like here.
I have to be honest here, I never understood portfolio. I mean u understand what it is and its purpose but I never understood how to make it for myself.
But either way I guess I do have certain things I worked on.
Starting of with Collection.
1. Collection: Story 1: Mirror Defect: (DONE) (Sorry no cover)
Not all is as it seems.
Not all can be explained and even when the truth is out not everything will make sense.
"I just lost my brother, I can't lose her."
What can you do when you lose trust in those around you? When grief holds you too close?
When lies are hidden all around you?
When nothing is real?
Can you trust your own eyes? When all goes wrong who can you trust?
"Experitment 1034, you are next"
Is anything real? Are you real?
**Warning: character death, graphic description of the deceased character.**
I SUCK AT SUMMARIES.
The story was originally done to scare my uncle. I was going to send him this other story, which R.L. Stine wibe to it but sadly I lost it.
So here we are. Now this story features Mark, who despite all that has occurred, is trying to fix his broken family, even if it means destrying himself but is this family real?
You can check it out here
2. So, A Deal?: (DONE)
Met with death she has no choice but to let death consume her.
"No, I can't leave like this! Not like this."
There is no other way, or is there? But is she ready?
"What do you want? Does your soul not fill with rage, anger and despair? Pushing you to the core of vengeance? Don't you feel like a ghost? Dreading you will disappear? You know you are nothing but a ghost, and eventually, you will have to fade."
"I have seen the face of affliction brought by my reality, I'm tortured by the future of things that cannot be, haunted by visions of yesterday."
Her sin is great, but her desire greater. Will she survive the burn?
This was something I did for my school wrok once. Although it is quite different than the original work. I'm quite happy with the last chapter. I honestly just posted it out as a test to see if others would like it.
It took quite an effort and I enjoyed doing the last bit of it. I really want to make a sequal to it, get it going, but not really sure if this is going to go well.
You can check it out here.
3. Solar Elements: (DONE)
Avatar: The last Airbender inspired.
A lot can happen during a lifetime, faultless rotating to flaws, heroes into villains, a lifetime of destruction smiling in your wakes.
A lot can be lost in a lifetime.
"Wolf is going overboard,"
"We do not have time to wait."
"Surrender now and we shall show you all mercy."
"No, we will never yield to you"
"Then so be it."
"You are not prohibited to address better yet conduct such disgrace." "We are still alive!"
"Love you, Son"
A lot can happen during a lifetime, faultless rotating to flaws, heroes into villains, a lifetime of destruction smiling in your wakes.
"And so she has finally awoken."
I had done this for a story contest once, sadly I was unable to win. But I have to behonest, if I had I would have been so annoyed, it was awful, so awful. I won't talk much on it, as I still don't like this too much.
This feature elemtnal magic and time twist you can say, where a character, reborn must choose to either repeat history or change it completely.
4. Pirates tale: (WIPs)
Had this in for a while, been working on it but didn't have a plot till now.
The ship has no name, no crew, nothing. But if you see it, it's already too late.
Legend says they're ghost, some say they are cursed, others....... others don't live to tell the tale.
It was inspired by a prompt I saw once. Hoping to make these pirates cured to be vampires, hidden from all and only visible at night. They are insearch of their first crew captain, the one who must break the cures. Problem is, Captian dies 30 years ago.
Guess, his hidden daughter must be placed instead.
This is dumb, so dumb, but hey, I'll work on it.
5. The Basement: (WIPs)
Another school work.
This one feartures students sneaking into their school's basement. Each with their own story on why the basement is forbbiden.
If only they had listened and not followed through, then maybe they would not have encountered, the hidden dark past of the school.
This has a gay couple, lol I actaully send it to my teacher but I don't think she noticed :(. It needs alot of work though, so this may take a while.
6. To find the Truth: (WIPs)
This one seems to be liked a lot by you guys. Many seem intrigued.
In the dystopian future, when the world government collapsed, when humans fell and the virus took hold, out rose a series of mutants. Their genes mutated by the virus released when a power plant went nuclear.
These mutants, blessed with powers beyond their control, have taken leadership. Smart, strong, powerful and undefeatable. They hold power over the weak like you and me. But I won't let them stop me. I won't let them come in the way.
They are sloppy, weak and useless. The world is filled with criminals, danger and people in need. This world needs justice, it needs help and they won't help, so I will.
"They'll take you away. They take people like them away"
"I won't let them"
I worked up a lot on this in the past few day and have actually most of the plot down. Well the main chracter's backstory at least, even how the virus started and why these mutants have taken over.
I just need to start it out and get it going. I have done that and I was thinking of adding bits and pieces on how the world is after every sub-story, like telling the tale as the story progress.
Was also hoping to give this story, a big reveal as to who these mutants are and how they came to be, why they take other's like them and how they find other's like them.
7. To Sacrifice or To Live? (WIPs)
Still working up on the name here, but the story goes like this.
Two wedding decades a part, each holding nothing but tale forgotten.
An evil entity hanting them both. A power over both familes, readdy to demolish them whole this time.
Will the scarifice work?
Ok, before you turn away, here me out here.
Two weddings, one in the 1900s and the other in 2000s. Both familes trapped in a curse long active, each must work to find a way to break the curse. One failed, made it worse, will the new bride make it? Or will she suffer worse?
8. Collection: Haunting Memories (WIPs)
Jenny doesn't know how she did it but she did. She didn't mean to. She really didn't. But Nina is dead now and it's her fault. She did it.
It's her fault.
Then why do they blame Jake? Jake is sweet, kind and caring. Sure he was the one with the blade, covered in blood and coming to kill Jenny next but it wasn't Jake. Because she saw.
Saw him kill her. Push the blade through Nina, watching as the girl fell. Her blood turning the ground crimson. She saw as the life left Nina's eyes. As the killer slumped to the ground, the control over him wearing off.
Jenny knows because she killed Nina. Then why does no one believe her? And why do her memories differ from Jake's?
“I am telling you what happened.”
“All you are doing is wasting our time.”
“Then be patient, this is all I have. Please just hear me out.”
“We are busy people here. We don’t have time for stupid tales, girl”
“This is not a stupid tale. If you could just listen.”
“We are listening. Listening to you for the past 10 minutes, all you have done so far is tell us useless things. We have things to do.”
“Everything I mention is important. One thing missed and you won’t understand. Please. I need your help.”
“You have 10-”
“15”
“Fine 15 minutes.”
This I hope to work and get done by at least in the next month. It need a lot of work and must be quite slow yet fast paced. I need to make the plot a bit more than just what I have written.
8. Trick? No, I'll take the Treat (WIPs)
Halloween themed. Done quite long ago.
What will you do when your Halloween turns into a nightmare?
I have nothing much on it at the moment, but will update this soon.
7. What kind of partnership are you looking for in this event? Friendship? Somebody to bounce ideas off of? Something else? What sorts of people are you hoping to meet and adopt?
Honeslty, I did a lot of research in the past few days and boy do I ned a lot of work done.
For starters, I need someone who can actually tell me how my work is going, just how kuch of an effort I have out in and how it seems to others.
I need harsh, quite harsh feed back so I know what I am doing wrong, what I should improve with and what interests the reader about the book.
I also say wish to meet and know other writers here. Would love to meet them and get to know them.

5TH INSPIRATIONAL ARTICLE
THEME: THE POSITIVITY I TRAINED
For me, the definition of positivity is hardwork into action to defeat laziness, For laziness takes the place of negativity. Your success is in your hands, achieving success is your capability to do more work. Remember the theme our 3rd Inspirational article"My Dream My Aim". It is your aim to make plans for success, the positivity to train can be reading habits, the positivity to train can be waking up early in the morning, the positivity to train can be your good manners etc.
I can remember a comrade of mine telling me that ' hey! Mike the gym is good to you ', for me that sounds nice, it pleased me hearing that from someone who I thought would have given me a bad comment on the new development of my body. Relating this to the positivity I trained, you will see that it took me my time, effort, days, months, to get a good look of my body shape. It is good when people see the positivity you trained as success in your life, career, and in academic life. Success doesn't come from above, a price was paid to see it manifesting in your life, do not be discouraged when, friends, family, neighbors look at you doing something difficult that will give you joy, and fame you tomorrow and tell you it will be very bad after doing this things, and later on your story becomes something else bad. Always guide your thoughts with this ' it must end in praise '. The people we see in our individual viewpoints today as successful figures trained their good names either in hardwork or in hardwork, that is just the common truth.
Train something positive, and be happy, I will say in my quote " kill the laziness in your young age, and be happy in your old age ", working hard when you are fit, healthy for the work, also my spiritual father will say " whatever you eat in your young age will determine how healthy you will be in your old age ". In training something positive there are so many ups and downs one must surely face, or pass through to get to the success top, or height of the positivity.
When you train, and get good positivity, negativity becomes an alternative in your life, career, and even in achieving your good dream, for positivity with take the place of negativity, and all other enemy that would have taken you down the drain.
Training something good is never easy, be it habit, good manners, moral, or even good timing.
Yes the year (2019) is gradually coming to an end, there will also be so many departments on success, and failure.
- Department of those who will thank God (The creator) for the gift of life.
- Department of those who will thank God for success in career.
- Department of those who will be grateful to God for success in business.
- Department of those who will be grateful to God for fame, and not shame they achieved.
- Department of those who will be grateful to God for success in academics.
- Departments of those who will be grateful to God for married life.
- Department of those who will be grateful to God for they never go bankrupt.
- Department of those who will be grateful to God for promotions, and awards of merit they received.
- Department of those who will be in deep regret for not achieving a dime.
- Department of those who will curse their fate.
- Department of those who will blame other people for not helping them to achieve success.
- Department of those who will be ashamed of themselves for being lazy.
- Department of those who will be in regret of following the wrong way to achieve success.
- Department of those who will blame themselves for training negativity, using it as a corner Stone instead of positivity. And many more.
Ask yourself this question ' if appeared in this Inspirational article several departments of both success, and failure where did I fall in? '. Had it been you trained something positive, you should have been smiling for you have fought a wonderful fight, and you give it a win jollification, for success is happiness.
It is never too late until you give up, the year is coming to and end, but never the end, another year (2020) is also close to start, or begin it's semester, it depends on how you prepare yourself now, your business, career, academic life etc, that will grantee you the level of success you want or need. Say No to laziness ( negativity ), and say yes to hardwork ( positivity ) for hardwork is success.
A common question people ask often is how those who make it to the top attain their success, remember in achieving anything good, or bad a price must be paid, one of the many answers to the this question could be hidden in what they adopt as their daily rituals.
WHAT ARE RITUALS?
Any practice or pattern of behaviour regularly performed in a set of manner.
Rituals help to develop healthy habits as well as the discipline you need to succeed (positivity).
Introducing new rituals into your daily life can seem intimidating at first, but it is something that you can achieve. It starts with deciding what daily ritual or rituals you want to adopt, committing to them to at least thirty days (30 days), and then tweaking them if necessary. The process won't, and can never always be an easy or consistent one, but with the potential benefits that come with it are innumerable, I ( Chukwudobelum), I'm a witness.
SOME RITUALS ONE CAN TRAIN TO BE SUCCESSFUL
WAKE UP EARLY
Waking up early can be challenging especially if you don't see yourself as a morning person. However, waking up early before the sunrises could give you a great head start, and get your day on the right track. When you are early to rise, you are more likely to racing against the clock because you Sept in until noon. Learn to wake up early for the nature also will bless, and make your day good.
MEDITATE EVERY MORNING
You have likely heard so much buzz about meditation that if you didn't care about it before, you are curious to see if what all the hype is about now. It is a practice where you use techniques to train your attention and awareness. The ultimate goal of meditation should be to make yourself mentally calm, and emotionally stable. For those that are new to meditation, you can start by getting comfortable, and preparing to sit still for a few minutes, you then focus your attention on your inhale, and exhale, and follow your breath for at least two minutes.
PLAN YOUR DAY ALWAYS
Planning your day early should help you better manage your time as you will know exactly what your objectively for the day are, and you won't get lost in all the fluffiness surrounding you (like watching TV). Always have a note book, write down the things you want to accomplish, while also using that time to brainstorm your tasks. Have you thought about a ceremony that has no planning committee, you should be the chairman planning committee of your dream, for your success is in your hands.
MAKE TIME FOR THINGS YOU VALUE
Getting so caught up in your desire to succeed can keep you from living a balanced life. To stay grounded, don't forget to connect with the people, and things that you love. A failure to do so could result in you neglecting your support system or the things that make you who you are.
EXERCISE
There are endless benefits of exercise, and this may be why so many successful people have it on their list of daily rituals, which I (Chukwudobelum) have adopted that to be the third on my list of daily rituals, you also can have it on your list, for it will make you fit to achieve success. Barack Obama, former president of the United States, said he would start his day early so that he could prioritize exercise. Exercise could be a key to success, because it is said to improve your cognitive functioning. Exercise can help build your mental strength, which is something you will need to overcome the obstacles you may face. This goes to say that although has many benefits for your body, it does a great deal for your mind, too. Exercise acts as a confidence booster while, at the same time, nourishing the body with endorphins, and everything else that comes with increasing ones heart rate. Make it a habit, and you live to see many more years.
READING OFTEN
Adult life can be so hectic that you seldom find time to read books, I can remember one famous person who I once read his history, who takes reading seriously - WARREN BUFFET, he dedicates 80% of each day to reading, in his philosophy,he says that " when you read, your knowledge builds up like compound interest ", this is a true one, as well an inspiring one, reading takes you to places you never has been before, it opens your eye to know what you could have lost. Reading will tell you of the history, it will place you in a dilemma of not going back to failure if you make it a habit. Reading helps you to know the ' true ', and ' false '. With this in your mind, be selective about the books you read, as highly successful individuals tend to choose education over entertainment, though indulging in fantasy, fiction, and all other kinds of genres probably won't really hurt you either.
CARRY A NOTEBOOK
You never can tell when inspiration will strike, I can remember vividly a day I was on a bus travelling, in my bag I had no notebook, and my phone was battery low, an inspirational was flowing from a fellow passenger, to me it was sounding so banal for I had nothing to jot down Good things he (the passenger) was saying, though I can still remember the theme of his sermon that very morning (the theme was a true disciple), that taught me a big lesson of my life. So always carry a notebook around with you, this gives you a chance to jot down notes, and ideas that you would otherwise forget. You can have a number of notebooks, and place them in your daily bag, office, and anywhere else you are regularly. When everything is written down, you know that your best ideas are kept in a safe place. Some people may choose to keep this idea notebook separate from daily journal, and others might be happier combining all of their experiences, and ideas into one singular place, so find what works best for you.
With consistency, you should begin to see yourself blossoming into the successful person you have always envisioned yourself to be. Training something positive have been said in so many paragraphs in this article is not, and can never be easy, try alot of different things, and be honest with yourself about what works, and what doesn't work. In no time, you will have your own positive habits that help push you into being what you consider a successful person, even if that is not the same as what it is for everyone else. Just don't give up, remember it takes real grit to stand up to failure.
In training something positive can also be greatly driven by other people. By having good friends, show me your friend and I will tell you who you are like they say, sometimes the type of friend we keep determines the type of success we have, when you surround yourself with good people, staying phlegm with them you will come to realize that bad friends doesn't help. When you surround yourself with good friends, keeping bad friends becomes the least things you will never do.
- Surrounding yourself with the right type of people can help success come more naturally to you than being around those who might hold you back, or even take you down the drain.
- Keeping close to people with big Dream and plans for themselves, because seeing other people's drive will keep you hungry to reach your goals.
- Negative attitudes you know can drag you down work ethic, and don't offer any Inspiration, but people with positive attitudes can help keep motivation, and morale help.
- People who ask lots of questions may provide a different angle on an issue or an idea, which could ultimately lead to an important breakthrough for you or your business.
The people we choose to surround ourselves with impacts the way we think, act, and feel on a day-to-day basis. A young football player is going to succeed if he surrounds himself with people who push him to become better, not people who distract him from his potential.
To conclude, you are the sum of who you spend your time with, I will say in my quote that " anyone who calls you good names, but doesn't want to show you how to be good is never a friend ". Make sure that you are directly involved with people who lift you, Inspire you, and motivate you to do, and be more. As you grow and your business grows, this might mean changing friends, and colleagues, and that is part of life. Just trust that hardwork, positivity, and keeping your sights high are things you cannot risk deviating from if you want the life of your dreams. To add up I will say " many wants to jump on the bandwagon of my Media , not because I'm too good, but because there's something to gain ". Remain positive to success!, and fill your days with good people and be good.

I'm really worried about Leorio in this arc. Like he hasn't seen half the shit Kurapika's been through and not even a quarter of half the shit Killua and Gon have been through. And this arc seems like/was stated to be even worse than the chimera ant arc? He's gonna get thrust in the middle of all of it! Thought it might also be his time to shine. Kurapika's def gonna get hurt and while he can heal himself normally he won't be able to if he's passed out/weakened from emperor time.
Yeee definitly agreed. Some shits are going to go down and that’s going to be hard.
I love Kurapika with all my heart but tbh I really wanted this arc to be more Leorio centric. I’m still a bit frustrated we didn’t get much of him, but I think the arc can set up a few things for him now if the storyline takes it.
and if it does? Leorio is going to suffer.
The thing is that, I think the main four are complementary in a sort of way when it comes to their respective trauma. Gon’s was dormant and truly kicked in in the CA arc when everything happened to Kite. He actively tried to confront that trauma and it ended badly. Killua’s was always kinda there and is still there, without exactly being addressed directly by Killua - he’s slowly recovering without exactly realizing it since it’s just by being away from a toxic environment that he’s doing better.Kurapika's trauma is still vivid and active and he’s completely aware of it, and he deals with it with the most unhealthy ways possible, and like Gon he tries to confront him.
If we go by that logic, Leorio’s trauma happened officially pre-canon with the death of his friend, and he had tried to recover as much as possible in the most healthy ways (how he’s becoming a doctor to prevent this loss to happen again).
Out of the Four, it’s true Leorio is the one who suffered the least, and he’s the one who moved on from the trauma that kickstarted his plotline - as much as we can say, he recovered.
Which is in itself a good theme when it comes down to it, but since it’s not exactly exploited by the narrative, it’s not exactly obvious and I doubt it was meant to be a point in itself but more a set up.
If it is a set up, we saw already a bit of payoff thus far. The multiple times he worred about Kurapika before the end of the York New Arc and grew concerned was one part, and his direct reaction to almost losing Gon was extremely frightening for him. It’s eventually what led him to ask the Zodiacs if they could find a way to get to Kurapika.
I think that, at this point of the story, Leorio is more worried for his friends than ever. In the begining of the story he mostly focuses on his goal, becoming a doctor in order to be able to prevent the harm that could happen to people, but he ended up feeling extremely guilty in the Election arc where, after all this studying, he still wasn’t there when his friends were suffering, and he couldn’t have done anything to prevent it - and now again he was powerless.
Even when Gon wakes up Leorio still feels guilty for not having been there when all those troubles with Killua and Gon happened - he mentions it especially when Gon mentions the “horrible things” he said to Killua, which means more than saving his life, Leorio wanted to have been here to prevent all those bad things to happen, to even talk with them if possible.
Which is imo why he tried to reach out for Kurapika a bit more and ended up asking the Zodiac for a favor - because he wasn’t there previously and his friends ended up near death. And it’s all good to be able to help people, but if you’re not there when it happens, what’s the point?
I’m still a little unsure about that because as much as i love Leorio caring for his friends, I would have loved a more “Leorio-centric” narrative, but as the story is going on, I wonder if the catalyst won’t be even more harm happening to his closed ones and eventually re-traumatizing him, and having him try to do something about it.
That’s why I’ve kinda been thinking that Kurapika may not die but will be badly harmed by the end of the arc and it may bring oil on the fire for Leorio. But at the same time i’m still a bit doubtful, because a repetitive narrative can be either extremely clever as parallelism, or downright stupid because it’s basically the same thing. But it’s been in the back of my mind for a while, since it would find a place among Leorio’s themes in general.
Personally, I would wish to see him more involved with the Zodiacs and uses his political position as a means to an end. I would love to see more of his training too, but I don’t have any precise idea of where it could go from that point on in order to explore that.
All i still wish for though, is that - Leorio is supposed to be busy on the lower levels of the ship. Kurapika is dealing with the princes now, but Leorio is down there, far from the political fighting.
Mizai had said that riots started happening on the lower levels, and I want to know if it’s going to bring somewhere, especially with Leorio who’s after all, working in that aera. It would be an opportunity to open up a plot line for him.
If we can’t have a totally centric Leorio arc like I wish, there’s still the fact the Troupe and Hisoka are also on those lower levels. At best, Leorio could get involved because he knows them and can try to come up with ways to limitate the damages (also it could also finally explore why Hisoka took an interest on him in the Hunter Exam by having those two at least having a conversation.). At worst, if it’s not entierely Leorio-centric, he could be worried that learning the Troupe is on board would be of harm for Kurapika and try to deal with it for it.
Regardless, I still believe the arc will be divided in, well, 3 for now. First part was the introduction we saw so far, until the departure of the boat, second would be the Succession War and everything happening on the Boat to the Dark Continent. Lastly, the Exploration of the Dark Continent itself.
I think it may be why the likes of Ging and Pariston hadn’t been seen again since the Succession War sub-arc started. The introduction would have set the players for the following arcs, and the Dark Continent exploration would be a complete different story.
Kurapika’s entiere purpose for participating in that arc is the Succession War (which again is one of the reason I think he’ll be out of commission by the end of this pat). Leorio, however, promised to help alongside Cheadle with every means he could, and I believe it might be that he’ll therefore be a more major player in the Exploration of the Dark Continent itself.
Whenever it would be to further his own storyline, which i really hope for, or to help wounded friends (after all, one of the wonders of the Dark Continent includes a rice that makes you life longer, that would come handy), i think Leorio would have more of a plotline in the Dark Continent Itself.
(especially even more if the Dark Continent would head up into a commentary about collonialism the way the CA arc had a commentary about war, and that I think (really take it with a grain of salt bc it’s something i’ve been thinking to myself for a while) that therefore Nanika’s powers could have been a forshadow of the commentary itself - for your selfish gain you will only get suffering, a suffering the next people involved, regardless of their own intend, will pay even harder, but if you’re there because you want to help, if you work it out of love, either toward the land/the person or toward the people you’re trying to help, you may find a welcome. I think it was stated that the guardian of the DC wouldn’t let a lot of people in, and we saw the scientific team talking about the DC only see horrors from the people who came back - yet apparently Don Freecss, who embrassed and loved the new land, could benefits from its goodness.)(and i’m completely overanalysing so don’t take that part any seriously until we get any confirmation, because for now we don’t know anything.)
Also the Zodiac are planning on letting all the people on the Boat (aside from those who are actively working on the exploration of the dark continent) into an Unknown Continent, I suppose eventually a few stuff could happen there, at least as it would come to organize the people who will be brought there.
I’m really scared for what’s to come though because ye, it seems to be going in a dark path, and things are going to get tense. And I worry too that Leorio’s “lack of drama” (for lack of better word) will eventually backlash on him getting even worse on his head.
The problem is that so far the most I can think about is him reacting to his friends and... While on one way I consider it to be in character, and it’s not a shame for character to be dedicated to their friends (a lot of Killua’s storyline centers a lot more around helping Gon that it does on his own goal, textually so. And Leorio’s goal is, as a mean to an end, a way to help people, among those, his friends.).
On the other, I would love a storyline that would explore much more about Leorio, first because I really want to see him evolve and see him going through stuff, and second because I don’t want to hear anything about how he’s not interesting or useless or any Bad Word Of The Month people use on him. And the sad truth is that people who’s goal are usually really “caring” centric are often sidelined, both by the narrative and the fandom, more than once.
So in recap, i do think he’ll get involved in the plotline and he will end up getting in danger in one way or another. But I also believe he will be more involved either with the Zodiac or with the Exploration, and maybe with the Riots on the boat, which could be an excellent opportunity to explore much, much more of him. Even if you have to use other people’s suffering to come there, i just wish at least it wouldn’t break him.
I’m still hopeful for Leorio’s involvement and story arc, but ye, there’s no way it will happen without suffering. Brace for it.
All of that being said, there’s still a lot this arc has to offer and Togashi had always managed to surprise us in one way or another, and he always added stuff to the scenario that we couldn’t exactly anticipate. Notice that all I say is my overanalysis of current information that might be completely wrong after a next update because of new elements. I totally believe Togashi can be completely misleading, and that he will bring the story where it has to be brought and that it will be interesting. But we can’t predict it, even with all the amount of overinterpretation one can use.
Take care!!
#ichameta hxh#hxh meta#hxh spoilers#dc arc spoilers#leorio appreciation#i have a lot of thoughts about the dc arc in general but we don't have enough info rip#so i'm still really doubtful about everything i say#(also the leorio stuff are always a risky line bc i don't want to sound biased)#(i love leorio and his character arc in general and imo he's really centered on how he cares about people)#(but therefore it means i tend to mostly mention stuff about him that are related to other people)#(and to me there's nothing wrong with a character who's more caring-centered)#(but i've been enough into fandoms to know that people are never happy unless you give even more and more)#(i believe a well written caring storyline would have more weight than a half assed attempt at writting a badass)#(but still - i would love much more to be explored about Leorio in general - especially his political affiliations now)#(and the achievement of his training - and hopefully new plotthreads!!)#(but i can't exactly focus only on that when he's been really driven into not letting people suffer again)#(bleh this is the never ending argument in fandoms and it's why i get worked up about it)#(nothing in your ask about that i just justify why i wrote this the way i wrote it)#(I know i have a bias to start with but i'm trying to keep it as much down as anything and be objective)#(so i hope it doesn't sound too far fetched)#take care!!#Anonymous#ichareply
