Sincere quietude, accompanied by bewitching emanations fringe the desolate terrain. Roaring gusts of wind swiftly breeze past a detached & forlorn child, their eyes scanning over the vast, empty field. A constant ringing occupied by an echoing amalgamation of sounds, scraped their brain, forcing them back into reality.

Moreover, still laid the child, inaudible within the center cubical of an expansive grassland, which was blessed with countless crops, confined, imprisoned within a seemingly untold state of solitary. Neglected without warning. Just as they were.

Meanwhile, east of the field which the child stood in, sat a church-like structure. It appeared, from thin air, right into their perspective, as if it emerged from nothing! Furthermore, and uncomfortably, the grass which grazed the rough, outer ridges of their almost frigid skin proved all the more aggravating. Its ruthless brushes forced into motion by the intense, snarling wind.

The grass’s surface continued to lacerate both the right and left leg of the child. Inflicting minor incisions upon his chilled, & numb skin. Formication forming, only to no response. Remaining on their face was still a blank melancholic expression.

Their lengthy, jet-black, luscious hair acting in direct mimicry to that of a calm river stream. Fluently flowing throughout the frigid zephyr, unexpectedly obstructing their field of view.

Abrupt adjustments in the gusts of wind cause the child to glare upwards toward the gleaming star above, their hair hurryingly dragging alongside their nape. Obscene rays of heat sprayed directly from the sun above, strictly onto the onlooker below. Forcing them to steadily raise their right hand, extending out their palm in hopes of grasping the star within their small, childish palms; due to them having been outwardly captivated by its charm.

Mere seconds which felt as if hours, would leisurely pass by without much acknowledgment. Soft tears secreting from the child’s eyes. However, the child's satisfaction had yet to be satiated.

“I must have it.” they thought to themself.

Causing them to reach out their hand even further, in hopes of grabbing it once and for all. They had dreams, dreams of soaring through the sky, enjoying a calm slumber amongst the clouds and stars, with the people below unable to notice their presence. Dreams which to them, were all that mattered. For in this cruel world, we are limited by our dreams, but are also uplifted by them. Don’t limit yourself. Do as the child did. Do as your inner child would. Reach for the stars, and don’t forget; never look back.
