okay so y/n is secretly a god of keeping an eye on this gravity falls universe and is trying to protect the kids because she's seen how they died so many times and full on just breaks down in front of Stan and ford telling them

You don’t know how much more you could take of having beer witnessed to so many timelines where the twins died far too young.

You didn’t know how much more of their suffering you were forced to watch on the sidelines while being reminded by beings of a power far greater than yours that there was to be no divine intervention. None whatsoever as it was a taboo amongst gods and was punishable by having the elder gods remove your immortality and take away any and all divine powers from you.

You didn’t care about the consequences of your own actions when you fled from your home in hopes of helping Dipper and Mabel survive one timeline, to grow older and live long happy lives unlike their alternate selves that you couldn’t save. You were sick and tired of seeing the same end result for the Pine twins timeline after timeline after timeline. This time it was going to be different, and you were going to make sure of it as you watched through the bark of trees as they ventured off on their next monster of the week, always coming back to the shack unscathed.

‘Hey great aunt/ grunkle y/n!’ They’d both greet you with wide smiles despite their messy appearances.

‘You two looked like you had some fun today. Find anything investing to share?’ You’d ask them but you already knew the answer. You had used your power to ward off the sneaky pack of Direwolves from mauling the kids and grant them a quick escape, a victory unfortunately not shared by their alternate selves, who never came back from the encounter. You still remembered the pained screams as they were deeply etched into your subconscious, keeping you awake at night.

The twins shared a look as thought debating whether or not to tell you, only to mentally agree on the later as they both looked back at you and said in unison; ‘nope! Just some scrapes and cuts, nothing interesting at all!’ Before they left to go to their room. As soon as they left the smile of your face faltered as you let out an uneven sigh, your hands covering your eyes as you softly wept into them, not understanding how cruel life must be to condemn the sweetest and bravest children you knew to countless deaths with each one being worse then the last.

You didn’t care that you’d be punished for your actions, you didn’t care that you’d be ridiculed and berated by the elder gods for being too human for a god, but you would much rather risk it all if it meant that all your effort and energy would bring forth a timeline where the twins emerged victorious; They deserved as much.

‘I can’t let it happen again.’ You whispered to yourself.

You must’ve been too occupied by the turmoil inside your own head that you didn’t hear the sound of footsteps came towards you, nor noticed that whoever was walking towards you had now sat themselves on either side of you until a hand was placed on your shoulder were you finally drawn back to reality.

‘Are you okay? Dipper and Mabel said they could hear you sobbing.’ Ford said and you saw that both he and Stan had come to check on you.

‘I can’t.’ You muttered.

‘Can’t what?’ Stan asked, crossing his arms over his chest.

‘I can’t watch them die again, not this time.’ You said as you wiped your eyes clean of tears. ‘I’ve watched enough of the same story come to violent and unfair endings and got told that’s just how the way things are.’

Ford and Stan shared a look, not knowing the best course of action to take in order to comfort you when you were talking in vague and ominous riddles. So Ford gently moved you so that you were looking at him directly, ‘what do you mean by that? Who’s them?’ You breathed in deeply as you mustered up the strength to tell Ford and Stan a truth you’ve been keeping to yourself in order to keep them all safe, but the Pines Family were a curious bunch and couldn’t help but be drawn to things they shouldn’t, while also having strange things be drawn to them in vice versa.

‘I haven’t been all that truthful about who I am and I only did so for a good reason, to keep you all safe.’ You said as you held onto Ford’s arms while looking between him and Stan, ‘I’m a deity who came here to Gravity Falls after bearing witness to multiple timelines where Dipper and Mabel don’t make it out alive from their encounters with the anomalies of this very town. I’ve risked everything to be here, even my own powers and immortality to keeping these kids safe in hopes of seeing the fruits of my labour be proven fruitful.’ You continued your admittance as you saw the conflicting emotions cut across their faces the more you spoke of your true origin.

‘What do you mean that dipper and Mabel die in each timeline you’ve seen?’ Stan then asked, his face set in agitation, ‘you’re a god aren’t you? Couldn’t you just have intervened and save them regardless? I thought you gods were meant to be omnipotent or whatever?’

‘That’s not how it works, is it.’ Ford said as he was slowly putting the pieces together while his thumbs caressed your shoulders reassuringly.

‘No.’ You said softly as a new wave of tears started to cascade down your cheeks. ‘The elder gods decreed long ago to forbid divine intervention of all kinds. They claim that there was nothing that can be done to change what has already been foreseen, but I couldn’t do it.’ You whimpered as you looked at Stan. ‘I just couldn’t when I knew that I could at least change one timeline, just one. Im sorry.’ You finished as Stan and Ford felt their hearts hurt for you, a god who was going against their entire way of life to keeping their grand niece and nephew safe, all the while feeling immense guilt consumed you from the inside out over the other realities.

Stan then moved so that he was just as in your line of sight as Ford was and began to wipe away some of your tears with his thumb. ‘I guess that explains all those times I’ve seen you silently stare out into the woods.’ He began jokingly as everything leading up to now started to make sense, how you’d always put yourself between the children and any potential danger or how you’d watch over them like a hawk and making sure they were in your line of sight no matter what as though afraid that something terrible would happen if they weren’t. ‘Thank you for everything you’ve done for them sweetheart, but it’s time you took care of yourself just as well.’ Stan then adds as he and Ford escorted you back into the shack, much to your confusion as you looked between them.

‘I cant! I have to make sure-‘

‘The twins are fast asleep in their beds y/n. They’re safe, you have done enough for today. Now if it time for you to rest.’ Ford gently reprimanded you as you suddenly began to feel the weight of fatigue that you had been putting off for several days now.

‘Yeah don’t go worrying yourself so much, or else you’ll get grey hairs like me and point Dexter over here. Let us take over once in a while okay honey?’ Stan says as he and Ford tried to get your mind off of your mission when they both saw just how much you’ve run yourself into the ground, how reluctant you were to relinquishing control and allowing yourself to rest up from the countless days of no sleep nor sustenance. They were pretty sure you hadn’t looked at yourself in a mirror to know just how badly you looked, nor the haunted you seem to get in your eyes now and then as though you were recalling traumatic events.

‘But-‘

‘Nope.’ Stan interrupted.

‘Can’t I just-‘

‘I’m afraid we can’t let you do that. God or not, you need rest. We’ll keep the kids safe in your stead.’ Ford cuts you off this time as he and Stan managed to wrangle you into bed after a brief struggle where you realised just how badly your limbs ached snd screamed with a desire to rest or how your eyelids felt heavier then lead.

‘Promise?’ You asked them sleepily.

Stan pressed a soft kiss to your forehead while Ford squeezed your hand reassuringly. ‘We promise, you’ve done your part so please, let us do ours.’

been thinking about the ways fiddleford and stan would force each other to take care of themselves. like, in the days they would hypothetically spend working together to try and get ford back.

fiddleford, being both a scientist and tirelessly devoted to ford, is probably a massive workaholic. he forgets to eat, forgets to drink water, complains about a “poundin’ headache” and ponders out loud what kind of pill he should take to tide it over until he can finish what he’s working on. stan, also terrible at taking care of himself but with a few working brain cells he uses for something OTHER than complex math equations, is the one who asks him when the last time was that he drank water instead of coffee. and it’s only then that fiddleford is bullied into taking a brain break. stan threatens to rip up his papers if he doesn’t go down a glass of water right now and fiddleford would rather die than see stan follow through on that promise. even though he would never. they’re both too committed to their mission. but truthfully, its the thought that counts, and fiddleford breaks past his brain fog with that first sip of water while smiling into his glass.

similarly, stan isn’t really used to having food and a roof over his head, much less a constant supply of running water. the guy probably forgets to shower, that or he just feels too hopeless to care. not to mention the way his hair has grown out so much that he struggles to take care of it, to brush it, to wash it. i wonder if it would be fiddleford in this timeline who first cuts his hair to get that matted mullet off his neck. and i wonder if stan finds himself close to tears when that weight’s off his shoulders. maybe fiddleford would help wash the remainder, and stan would joke about feeling like he’s in some old barbershop for the first time since he was a teenager. its hard to joke after that, when he gets choked up with the tragedy and intimacy of it all, but the silence is ambience enough for fiddleford to finish shampooing. and he tells him afterwards that he looks like a new man.

Somebody to Call My Own Lore | Part 2

This was too big to fit in one post so I had to split it into two parts, you can find part 1 by clicking on the AU tag! Please feel free to pop into my askbox if you have any questions about any of my AU's, I'm itching to ramble about them.

Trigger warning for suicide. Also, 77/H Ford's relationship with his brother is mentally & emotionally abusive.

Ford has far more advanced technology than what earth is capable of, taking inspiration from the dimensions he's visited to design a tattoo made of nanobots that allow him to teleport short distances, he still has to use the gun for long distances. But if he can see his destination, he can teleport there using the tattoo. The ink is red and the tattoo is the outline of the Stan o' War.

When Ford comes across dimension 77/H, he is pushed to the breaking point. Stan’s fate is to eventually take his own life after his brother guilt trips/emotionally manipulates him into staying by his side while Weirdmageddon swallows the world. Stan wouldn’t even be an official part of Bill's freaks, seen as akin to Ford’s pet by the group (Bill included).

Stan would end up suffocated with survivor's guilt and the worst self-esteem ever seen in a Stan, regarding himself as Ford’s loyal dog instead of a person. His hopelessness and despair wear him down until he is driven to take his own life, Ford wiping their dimension out entirely in his grief. The kicker is that Bill could’ve stopped it but didn’t because he wanted Ford all to himself, jealous that Stan got the majority of Ford’s attention and affection while Ford was reserved and cold with Bill. So Bill simply let Stan die, and that was ultimately his downfall.

419”3 Ford stays up for days in order to scour the timeline for a series of events that doesn't end with Stan killing himself, but most paths lead to the same destination while several others are decidedly worse and are immediately discarded. Ford gets more manic as his window to step in without catastrophic consequences to the timeline rapidly closes, his self-inflicted sleep deprivation and desperation pushing him to act rashly.

Stan had received the postcard like in canon, but the difference is that Ford had teamed up with Bill and opened the portal to bring Weirdmageddon onto earth. Ford had planned to have one of the freaks fetch his brother for him once they came through the portal, but the anti-weird barrier surrounding Gravity falls was an unexpected setback. So Ford opts to send his brother a postcard and work on finding a way to break the barrier while waiting for Stan to arrive, Bill doing his best to convince Ford that his brother would only be a distraction.

Ford didn't take kindly to Bill’s poor opinion of Stan, proving a point by ignoring his work for several days until Bill reluctantly apologized and agreed to spare Stan from the apocalypse by letting him live in luxury in Gravity Falls with Ford.

419”3 Ford steps in quite literally at the last minute, Stan’s car unknowingly approaching the barrier that separates the rest of the world from Weirdmageddon. Stan, of course, panics and yanks the wheel when a man dressed in all black and wearing a biker helmet darts into the road in order to avoid hitting the stranger. Stan’s car swerves into the ditch, slamming his forehead against the steering wheel when he hits a tree.

Stan is –understandably– disoriented as the figure pulls him out of the totaled car, Stan's awareness coming in waves. Stan thinks he sees a giant pink woman on fire watching them from the other side of the “Welcome to Gravity Falls” sign before the stranger adjusts his grip on Stan and his vision is overtaken by blue as he’s effortlessly hauled into a wormhole that deposits them in 419”3 Ford’s current headquarters in a different dimension.

"You wander deeper into the cave, your footsteps uncertain.. It's so dark that even your torch can't seem to burn through the shadows. Up ahead, you see a round wooden door blocking your path. What do you do?"

Dipper put a hand to his chin and looked down at his character sheet in thought.

"You're thinking too hard about it, just open the door.." Mabel complained from the chair. She had been watching Ducktective with Stan, but now that it had cut to commercial, and Stan had gotten up, she had turned her attention to the game her brother and uncle were playing on the floor.

"You know, you're always welcome to join us, Mabel." Dipper replied, mostly as a polite way of telling her to stop talking. He grinned a little when he heard her groan and flop back against the chair. Her way of saying, 'absolutely not.'

The boy sighed and looked up at his great uncle, "But she's right. I attempt to open the door."

Ford continued his narration, "The handle gives, but the door refuses to open... Literally, it speaks to you," He took a breath and deepened his voice, getting into character, "You who have completed the Trials of Light and defeated the Hoark, in order to pass beyond this point, you must-"

"Hey Gandalf, the show's back on, keep it down." Stan interrupted, having sat back down, Mabel in his lap and his arm around her while they continued their show.

Ford glared at his brother. Sharing his home with an entire family was something he was still getting used to. He turned back to his nephew, lowering his voice, "You must answer my riddle..."

"Two faces I keep, my silver tongue digs me deep, bound by chains time and time again, when I open my jaws, your energy I drain..."

Dipper frowned, thinking hard about what that could possibly mean. He racked his brain for every possible solution in the game.. Unless..

The boy couldn't stop the grin that spread across his face, giggling a little. "It's Stan, isn't it?" Ford let out an airy wheeze, confirming his nephew's suspicion.

"Hey, watch it, you two," Stan pointed at them before Mabel gasped, tearing his attention away from them and back to the screen, "What, what happened!?"

Ford continued, "You hear a click and the door opens, satisfied by your answer. Beyond the door are two tunnels, side by side. Which one do you choose?"

"Left," Dipper said quickly, "Always the left."

"You go left, your footsteps echoing down the damp tunnel.. giving away your position. Suddenly, a large Honix is blocking your path. What do you do?"

Dipper shifted so he could see his character sheet better and focus. "I draw my sword and attack."

Ford grinned, also shifting a little to see the board better, ready for the battle. "Roll for attack strength."

Excited, Dipper didn't even look into the dice bag, grabbing whichever one was on top, sure that it was the 37 sided die. Ford's eyes widened in panic.

"Dipper wait!"

It was too late. He had already released the Infinity Sided die onto the board before his uncle could grab his hand.

Time seemed to slow as each corner took turns hitting the board until it rolled to a stop.

thinking about buddies friendship (like the actual foundation of them being best friends)

it took them maybe a week to become it’s other’s best friends

a week to cement the fact they want to be in each other’s lives for a long time

and that’s crazy to me

like maybe i’m just not a trusting person but when like tv shows and movies have ppl be like platonic soulmates after three days and im confused

like sir it’s been a week why am i coming to the hospital with u for ur kid i’ve never met

like a month maybe (even that’s a stretch) but a week?? i met my best friend in fourth grade and i didn’t even like them until 6th and we weren’t best friends til 8th bc i thought they were annoying and they didn’t wanna be associated with me cause ppl bullied me and they didn’t wanna catch a stray (respect bc id do the same)

except buddie somehow makes a funky timeline work and i think it has to do with the fact both of them were in very vulnerable spots in their lives and they offered what the other needed and also they went through a life threatening situation so there’s that

but watching that friendship develop over 6 seasons a *chefs kiss*

i think that they fit into a category of friendships i call “would die for each other”

ppl say “omg i love them id die for them” so loosely nowadays and that might be this generation’a nonchalant attitude towards death and dying

but personally i prefer to use “i would kill for you” i think if it came down to it i would easily kill a bitch for all of my friends no matter how long we’d been friends but to lay my life on the line for someone i’ve know for a year or two??? absolutely not…so sorry

but buddie…buddie would no questions asked i mean they’ve continuously risked their lives for each other when one is in danger bc that’s how deep their friendship is and even if the timeline is a little funny it’s really nice to see male friendships run that deeply because the media still refuses to let men be really good friends friends lol

and i know it could be argued that maybe their feelings are less platonic if they do all this except i know ppl out there that do have a buck to their eddie and its just platonic i think its nice to see platonic male intimacy they really are ride or die

and personally i think they’re in a qpp but 🤷🏽‍♀️

anywho here’s to more buck and eddie friendship in season 8 (and not to be a bucktommy stan on main but i hope we get more of tommy and eddie’s friendship bc i think it’s important for eddie to have friends who know what he’s been through on a personal level and provide a perspective outside of buck)

AND NO IM NOT PUTTING "ATTEMPTED BEFORE" IN HERE THIS IS NOT SOME SAD SOME RANDOM

repeating this from the edit but due to her tendency to remember numerous timelines, donna has even more of a SEVERE fear of being abandoned by mc and lacks a lot of self confidence in the relationship. she remembers mc being happy with the others, what if they did a better job than her? what if mc goes to them? or perhaps, what if the loop occurs and mc goes to someone else, and donna sees them just act happier? was she easily replacable?

however, sometimes donna DOES express her relationship anxieties and mc always does help out; its not all torment for donna, dont worry. as time goes on she always tries to be more open with mc about her feelings

okay back to sad. i imagine this happens to everyone but in their own way, but donna is a sleep hugger. so when she wakes up the day after the loop, shes hugging a pillow instead of mc and she just sits there for a bit. sometimes, she doesnt really get it, other times, she instantly knows what happened. she hates the feeling of waking up that morning and thinking she has someone in her arms, only to have an empty spot in her bed.

really good at claw machines. when angie was younger, she loved going to the arcade, and so donna mastered the art of claw machines to get angie a bunch of prizes (and sometimes herself).

invested in noise cancelling headphones / earbuds once she got with mc. she wears them a lot everywhere and even went to her first concert with them, it helps her not be overstimulated.

she hates herself for this, but part of her prays that mc stays with miranda after she has to wipe belas memories. she cant stand the thought of hurting her niece again in another loop.

would probably get a sims addiction, but specifically making sims.

plays relaxing video game soundtracks in the store (dani, angie, and mc often update the playlists)

she sells those fake flowers on april fools that shoot water at peoples faces.

loves to watch operas and ballets.

im struggling with wording this but like. when donna realizes the loop has occured she always just takes a bunch of time to prepare herself for whatever is going to happen, but ESPECIALLY knowing she has to murder someone for angie again. shes basically doomed to do this forever until mc gets with miranda; and i KNOW angie sometimes isnt a doll but. lets forget about that!! i just imagine shes always a doll anyways, it makes more sense that way, and either way, a loop where angie is fully human is just a temporary break for one of donna's many problems.

ethel cain stan

hates hospital shows for MANY reasons. she doesnt like seeing the hospitals first of all, she doesnt like seeing when the people die, and she hates the medical inconsistencies.

in loops where bela and mc have a family (sigh), she can't help but literally try to keep her distance. they won't have their family for long, and she cant bear to tell them that (although bela is most definitely aware) or even get attached to their baby, she doesn't want to lose someone close again (although bela does not catch onto this; she tries to get donna involved as opposed to alcina)

owns a typewriter

constantly has a tab of solitaire open on her laptop.

theres a picture of markiplier hidden in her room and she doesnt know it. angie hid it there and has been waiting for donna to find it. thing is? she hid it before the loop started. so it is permanently there for every loop.

always has really cutesy and simplistic halloween costumes she wears in her flower shop for the holiday. her favorite costume is a bee.

loves build-a-bear. it obviously takes her some time to get ready to go there (she often plans out their least busy times), but she loves to make her own plushes for her collection and buy them new clothes. eventually takes mc there for a date and they adopt a bear together.

but outside of that? she really hates getting new ones there during the loops. she gets really attached to them and she hates knowing they're only there for a short time.

owns a bunch of retro game consoles and likes to collect them, although she doesn't get much time to play them.

while mc obviously does open her eyes, donna still struggles with the concept of even trying to get better because she knows its all just going to loop. yes, she will work on things and they will improve, but certain things will revert back to normal after the loop anyways.

once tried to dance in the rain for fun and ended up getting a cold instead.

so, for those of you not in the know, it was requested of to make a post about my gravity falls x slay the princess au thing. slay the princess is a good game, you should check it out (though be warned for gore and death and body horror)

anyway, everything’s under the cut!

let’s get the basics out of the way first-

-there are technically two endings that are canonical to this. i don’t know their actual names, but they’re the ones where you become a god and the one where you leave the cabin with the princess

-this au is centered around ford and stan. ford takes the role of the hero, stan takes the role of the princess (this will be explained in just a bit)

-the long quiet and the shifting mound are separate from the stans. this will also be explained in just a bit

-the echo is a shattered splinter of bill, left over from the memory gun. he does not know who he is, nor does he really know who ford or stan is. ford does not recognize him either, because of how fragmented bill is. he wants to kill stan because stan killed him, even if he doesn’t remember it. he knows that there’s something more to the situation (the shifting mound and the long quiet), but he’s really only using it as a motivator for ford

-the voices are technically also fragmented bits of ford. every time he dies, and things reset, it causes another version of him to appear. different timelines, different dimensions, different multiverses, who knows really? all i know is our friend voice of the smitten has been changed. his entire thing is that he is in love with the princess, but that doesn’t work for this au. instead, i think it would be interesting if he’s the only version of ford that can truly recognize stan, aside from the hero. the hero is the true ford, just as the true stan is trapped in the basement

-stan does change with each splitting path, too- or the reflection of him being puppeted by the shifting mound does, anyway

alright! now for the explanations i promised:

why is ford the hero (and the long quiet)?

-voices/multiverse connection

-harassed by manipulative entity that wants him to violence

-‘do this or the world ends’

-the long quiet fits him better in general

why is stan the princess (and the shifting mound)?

-it’s all about perception. stan is very much based around others perception of him. it felt like it fit. he has many masks (and maybe, just maybe, ford can find the true face)

why are the long quiet and the shifting mound separate from the stans?

y’know how possession works? yeah, so it’s sorta like that, but not. the physical bodies belong to the long quiet and shifting mound, they are made of them. and yet, they are ford and stan. ford, the hero, tags along the journey and gives his thoughts and can influence the actions of the body to some extent. stan is the face of the shifting mound, and envelops its personalities. he is not the shifting mound, though, and ford is not the long quiet

this is what it really comes down to- everyone wants different things

the echo, the fragment of bill, wants stan to die. he will do whatever he can to get ford there, even though he has no idea who either of them are

the long quiet and the shifting mound want to reunite, even if takes a while for them to realize that’s what they are and what they want

ford and stan? they just want to stop killing each other, for fucks sake. they’re not even entirely aware of what’s going on, but stan doesn’t like mauling ford and ford doesn’t like stabbing stan

it goes like this: ford awakes on a forest trail on a starry night. he makes his way down the trail, at the persistence of a certain voice, and comes across the shack. inside he finds a knife. in the basement, he finds his brother. in the end, they kill each other, no matter what they choose. it goes like this again and again, until ford and his multitudes are faced with the mirror and discarded upon the long quiet viewing itself in it. it looks like ford. it meets the shifting mound, holding a vessel. it looks like stan

this goes on again and again and again and again and again until everything shatters

ford, the hero, finds himself at the heart of it all. his body, the long quiet, finds itself enveloped in the all encompassing presence of the shifting mound

ford, leaving the knife behind, journeys into the basement and finds stan- the true stan. he offers a hand. his brother takes it. at the same time, the long quiet and the shifting mound join hands and shed their skin, then their muscles, then their nerves, then their blood, then their bones, until nothing remains of what used to be their vessels. they don’t need them anymore. they are everything and nothing. they are all and none

ford leads stan out of the basement, and then out of the shack, and then they are free

It’s truly disturbing to me how Green stans want Daenaera to be erased to force Jaehaera on Aegon. Why on earth would you want two children scarred for life by the other’s family to be together ? So that they’d have this constant horrifying reminder of their trauma ? Do people truly there could be any love, joy or even sympathy between them ? They would just intoxicate the other’s whole existence and live the rest of their lives in utter misery and pain. And let’s not ignore Aegon’s canon distaste of her, which was repeatedly pointed out in the books, he gave Jaehaera’s doll to someone else as soon as she died.

The whole point of Jaehaera and Aegon getting married was to rectify the two sides of the family. If their marriage had come to fruition, I don’t necessarily think they would have made each other miserable on the basis of their past family history alone. At the end of the day, they were ultimately two EXTREMELY traumatized little kids, and that alone made them incompatible with anyone other than a therapist. Aegon III never seems to express any ill will towards her for the actions of Team Green, and likewise Jaehaera doesn’t express any animosity towards him. Aegon III is actually remarkably merciful towards past members of the Greens like Tyland Lannister or even Unwin Peake himself, so I don’t think it would make sense for him to canonically hold a grudge against Jaehaera for her allegiance to the Greens. Especially considering she was a child when the Dance was going down.

Like I said, I think they were simply incompatible. They were actually quite similar in that they both saw their parents die in front of them in horrendous ways, and both lost their closest siblings during the Dance. They even dealt with their traumas in similar ways; by receding from the world and isolating themselves. But at the end of the day, Aegon bore Jaehaera no love as a cousin or as a wife. She was his duty. I think this is why he gave Myrielle her doll; not out of malice, but because he perceived Myrielle to be his next duty, given that Unwin Peake was pushing her so aggressively to become Aegon’s bride. As acting regent, Unwin Peake basically had the powers of a king and Aegon probably felt that he was being ordered into marrying Myrielle. Or, at least, entertaining her until the Maiden’s Ball. (I forget the exact timeline.) So I think he gave her the doll to be diplomatic, and as a subconscious sign that he saw her as as a responsibility he owed to the realm.

Ok ok so i keep seeing people be hating unnecessarily on the new shang tsung. Now he isn't the BEST shang but he's not the WORST either. In fact,he's alright. I like him. The only good thing about mk1/mk12 period. Mostly from god liu kang stans. They (the god/"titans"characters) talk about choices but when it's the one they dont want them to make or have no other choice but to make to make ends meet or survive. Suddenly their the "bad guy" and made the "wrong choice"

Liu kang had help. Raiden. And he takes that for granted. Never gets called in the narrative for when he does fuck up. But because shang is a "bad guy" suddenly we have to find someone to blame.

When the world of mortal kombat is brutal in the first place. Gaslighting shang tsung wont absolve liu kang for fucking up shit. Nor stop god shang tsung from (rightfully so) hating liu kang.

Shang tsung from mk12/mk1 is actually valid in being pissed. Just because you wouldn't do it. Dont mean that the character shouldn't. Or should be punished for his behavior.

All this time he had thought you had betrayed him when in actually you had been loyal to him and his family, up until he and his brother ostracised you even more then you already were for the past thirty years. He made you feel like shit, and he could tell that Stanley felt the same amount of guilt as he clenched his fists in silent anger; Ford then levels Bill with a glare. ‘You possessed y/n! My assistant!’ He roared at his once muse.

Bill only chuckles. ‘Correction!WAS your assistant Stanford! And pushed you through the portal whilst wearing the face is someone you cared for,’ Bill then gasps as he looked at the guilt ridden faces of the Pines Family and feeling the joy bubble up in his triangular body, the look of defeat and realisation was all too sweet, ‘Oh wait! Someone you once cared for before throwing them out like they were nothing to you, not once letting them the space to explain what had happened and how I tricked them into making a deal with me.’ He finished by pretending to wipe a tear from his one eye after cackling some more at the hilarity of the situation.

Humans loved to cause more problems within problems they didn’t fully handle properly as they stockpiled on top of each other, giving him the leeway to get what he wants without issue or confrontation from the pathetic family.

Possessing you during a brotherly squabble was perfect! Ford had cut all ties with him and decided to call upon his idiotic brother- as though that would’ve ever worked in any timeline- to help hide his work but when things didn’t go Ford’s way, they fought. You were trying to stop the fight and bill took advantage of that by claiming he could help you stop the fight, fat chance, he was going to make it worse and leave you to be his scapegoat! It was a brilliant plan to make up for multiple set backs thanks to Ford’s sudden realisation of his hermit tendencies, everything was out in place for the ultimate betrayal by the hands of Ford’s assistant; you!

Bill found that Tragedy was at its finest when the betrayal comes from someone you love and it did.

‘They didn’t-‘ Ford began.

‘Say anything?’ Bill interrupts, causing Ford and Stan to glare at him as the demon cackle as he got in close to their shared triangle shaped prison, staring them down with his one eye, unblinking. ‘You and your piece of shit brother over here didn’t even let them speak! Never less believe them when they were telling the truth!’ He roared, ‘and now you don’t know whether they’re even alive so that you can apologise to them!’

Mabel slams against the bars of hers and dippers prison. ‘they’re alive!’ She shouts and Bill now looks at her, amused.

‘How can you be so sure shooting star? For all you know they could be dead, cursing your grunkles names as they die with an unsatisfying end.’ Bill mocked her as she falters in her resolve, he was right, how could she be certain that you were alive when Gravity Falls was literally on fire and demons from another dimension were running amok? She couldn’t and that’s what upset her the most.

‘Because we know our great aunt/uncle better than you bill and we know they’re alive!’ Dipper pips up this time as he laid a reassuring hand on his sister’s shoulder, smiling at her as she smiled back at him in thanks for having her back. Bill looks at the twins, hating their optimism and hope that you were okay and decided to destroy this by reaching into thin air and producing a realistic illusion of your unmoving body before them.

‘Are you so sure now pine tree? They don’t look very much alive to me!’ Bill exclaims as Mabel, Dipper, Stan and Ford could only look up the body that Bill claimed was yours in disbelief and shock. This couldn’t be how it ended, could it? They still had to apologise to you after all for everything and make it up to you however you wished!

‘No, no this is some foul trick of yours bill!’ Ford screamed as he threw himself against the bars, forcing himself not to cry at the sight of your body while seething with rage and a need to avenge your supposed death. ‘You sick son of a bitch!’ Stanley joined in as he felt even more useless than ever, he felt the most guilt out of everyone as his eyes seemed to refused to move from your supposed body. You couldn’t be dead, he refused to believe such bullshit lies, you were still alive and fighting with the rest of them! He knew it, deep down in his heart he knew it to be true!

‘No.’ Mabel cried as she tried to reach out to you as Dipper held her while silently crying himself, vowing to take down bill now more than ever as he tugged his hat down to cover his eyes. You were the most encouraging person he’s ever met and now you were gone, you asked him and Mabel to trust you when contemplating to stay with Stan, and they did believe and they never regretted doing so because you were right! You were always right and yet in the end you died thinking they hated you more than anything; which wasn’t true! Far from it and now…now they can’t make it up to you, they had lost their chance.

Bill had won over the pines family once again.

Because I just randomly started thinking about it, here's what I think the Wolf 359 character's favourite kpop girl groups/idols are (sorry bg stans. also very varying levels of thought went into these lol):

Eiffel - he's such a second gen snob. his faves are f(x) and wonder girls, so he never found out they disbanded. post-finale eiffel is less of a snob (though he still prefers second gen) and he adores iz*one, following all of those girls post-iz*one.

Minkowski - soloists > groups. her fave is iu and when she gets back to earth she becomes obsessed with taeyeon.

Hera - nugu stan queen, secretly runs nugu promoter. favourites are purple kiss, ily:1 and lightsum, but secretly her ult is weeekly.

Hilbert - this is the one time i'm not going to adhere to the timeline bc i just know hilbert would be into loona and i can't explain why. he's particularly a 1/3 stan and thinks plastic candy is super underrated. generally tho, he's all about christian horse girl music.

Lovelace - she adores boa more than anything. also f(x), snsd, wonder girls and hyuna (she and eiffel have a big bonding moment over this). when she gets back to earth, she discovers twice and they immediately become her new ult.

Kepler - i know deep in my bones that kepler listens to brown eyed girls religiously. rip kepler, you would have loved warm hole.

Maxwell - the only group she really cared about was red velvet, and she was a ride or die. rip alana maxwell, you would have loved chill kill and 28 reasons.

Jacobi - maxwell got him into red velvet and then it was all downhill for him from there. he stans like fifty groups/idols across all gens but he rides hard for 2ne1, mamamoo, red velvet and brown eyed girls (he and kepler don't know that the other is obsessed with them). when he gets back to earth, he becomes obsessed with clc and doesn't realise they've disbanded until he's in too deep.

John Malkovich, great vilain as always, we stan Javert from the 2000 french miniseries and the crazy retired fed from RED.

overall a good movie, although not a great adaptation. And again the rushed timeline makes it not that good of a movie, even without the "adaptation" part. Buuuut just watching that movie for the first time as an adult i'm feeling nostalgic like i had watched it as a kid or something so i guess bonus points for the fake nostalgia. I think most of my indulgence for it definitely comes from the fact i don't remember the plot in details though.

poor picard, forever alone until the last two weeks when TWO lady loves come back into his life and say 'oh yeah turns out we could have been in love but you fucked it up without realising it'. (not to ignore his current lady love who is the only one with the spine to let him NOT fuck it up without realising he is fucking it up).

(I can't believe we are STILL paying for patstew feeling emasculated in the early 90s. the male ego: not even once.)

Ensign Ro is one of those characters that TNG fans have Strong Feelings about, and I am one of those, because I love Bajorans and Cardassians as the true ds9 stan I am. I love seeing Michelle Forbes in things. I hope she was paid a lot to come reprise the character she's seemingly spent her whole career running away from. I suppose that, and the fact that this is a show named after Picard, that the focus will always be on her relationship with Picard. It was the most interesting part of what we got about her, along with our general introduction to the Bajoran faith and people, but we had 7 years of development of them and none of her, I always assumed she was killed when the marquis were slaughtered by the dominion as a favour to the cardassians. Lucky escape, though of course she got killed off. she had her story beat: time to die. (cash that cheque, never look back).

Anyway, not that Picard would have ever done anything with her, due to being Noble Space Coastguard Man who outranks her by about 40 years, but I quite pruriently like the wow wrong bad hot of that dynamic, in a dead dove way. Like as usual I wish we could spend more time in these characters' heads, because god I love people who fail at starfleet more than anything, they are my favourite characters in any show. The dysfunctional relationship between starfleet and those within it is fruit ripe for picking. Picard breaking the rules to sleep with Ro would be absolutely out of character in the most delicious way, to the point I kind of want to write it. Like that is tragedy, highest nobility and loyalty to an institution vs the desires of the human flesh. Genuinely the best. Awful dysfunctional relationship between man who projects wildly onto a younger woman and the younger woman who clings to older man in authority as symbol of the authority she is a bad fit for. Neither of them ever actually engaging with each other as people, therefore doomed to failure.

At the ~ revelation ~ that omg changelings are EVERYWHERE, when Ro says starfleet is corrupted to the highest level I went "what, AGAIN?" Its been 2 years since Romulans took over the top level of starfleet, and now its changelings. I mean, I still think the changelings have been there for twenty years, since the attempted coup in homefront/paradise lost.

I wish this series was...25% less ambitious prestige tv.

Anyway, glad that Jack said something to his mum that he's fucked and seeing things, but all this red and doors and stuff is synth-as-fuck, and honestly it makes no sense for Jack to be a synth even in this series. They can't do synth stuff without agnes and they ruined agnes by making her borg. it makes me miss narek, my problematic fave though. god, remember season 1? seems so long ago.

as we are introduced to more older characters the more I am changing my mind on gates mcfadden's face lift, I think its so uncanny it keeps throwing me out of her scenes because I keep analysing her face. can't do anything about it, and she does look good...if REALLY uncanny.

Worf and Raffi continue to be good, if a little boring. The timelines are converging. It was nice to see Charlie from Fringe as a Vulcan gone bad though. Been a little bit of a fringenaissance on TV this year, with anna torv in tlou and Charlie in this. more of that please. they deserve better.

I still like Shaw, but I like the bad apple captain trope best of all. Remember when we had Lorca and I got so excited about how Disco was going to be a show about actually working under one of the Bad Captains of the Week from TNG era?! Maybe I'm getting it.

(I also think that there's interesting things to unpack about Shaw and Seven's relationship that PERHAPS I might also write something about because mmmm he's a dick, she's bullheaded, what the fuck is she even doing in starfleet other than falling into the trap that so many failed fleeties have before, deconstruction of the protagonist hero trope, seven deserves better but how can she get better when she is in the military, which cares not for individuality?! But why would he lie? He obviously must not want them to meet (or have been asked about it) but that opens another can of worms!!

Like, the timeline doesn't make sense!! If it really diverged from Stan taking the journal, why is he there? By that time he would've refused to talk to Ford and have his cult. But he seems just fine. Why would Stan just... leave? Bill would still have access to Stan's body too! And why does he keep a portal that if the same person meets the dimension will die?? Why are the journals hidden if they fixed the machine and it's fine now?? There's so many inconsistencies!

Imo he listened to Ford's story and chose that part bc that's the easiest to explain everything!!

So like I firmly believe that Chuuya will be dead at the end of the manga. Sorry stans but I believe the chibi will be six feet under. I also thought that Dazai and Chuuya would both be dead but thinking about it, I don’t think that anymore. Looking at how Paul and Arthur’s relationship was presented and how close it was to their real life counterparts relationship, we can then look at the poet Chuuya Nakahara and how he lived until he was 30. Now talking about the tiny red head, we see him work is ass off to just to survive from the age of 15 to the current timeline the man is always so close to being killed. Dazai as we know, has s*cidual tendencies that do not succeed with every attempt. So to wrap to up basically what I’m saying is that since the irl Chuuya lived a shorter life than the irl Dazai, then Chuuya in the manga will also die before Dazai. Like I know in 101 that Chuuya is like drowned but we all collectively agreed that he isn’t dead because he can manipulate gravity so how could he drown. I feel his death would be at the end of the whole series that would tie together soukoku once again in one touching scene, kinda like in dead apple. A truly ironic way for him to go a man that wants to live dying, while the man who wants to die, lives.
