There's a running theme with my character design and it's that I REFUSE to draw fully human legs. Anyway, CB fandom gets exposed to two OCs of mine while seeing how they compare to them. For reference, Chase (the shortest of the group) would be around 6ft. The HalfScale are typically quiet tall. The shortest OC I have is 5'4 being a pure shiver.

I just saw this video talking about actresses who've had to wear sexualized outfits on film that made them uncomfortable (think Margot Robbie in Suicide Squad) and it brought up an ongoing concern of mine about how films and tv shows are way more explicit now than they've been before. Thinking about how many actresses have been topless or nude on camera when it's totally unnecessary) Like I know Hollywood is experimental and would show sex and nudity in their films, I don't have a problem with that it's just how disproportionate the amount of women vs men who have to be naked and sexualized in film is. It's misogyny, pure and simple. Forcing actresses to put their bodies and sexuality on display for the pleasure of male directors and a male audience. And I hate that you can never point out how many actresses have come out and said that no, they didn't like wearing sexualized outfits on screen, they didn't like going nude/being pressured to go nude, they don't like sex scenes or explicit rape scenes but still anytime anyone mentions this you have to fight puritan allegations because god forbid you question how a notoriously sexualized and objectified marginalized community seems to always be sexualized and objectified in media.

Welcome to Yuri Rare Ship Month!

Hello all and welcome to yurirareshipmonth! What is yurirareshipmonth, you ask? It's a month long, multifandom event that's intended goal is to create content for yuri rare ships! This event will take place March of 2025! Here's some ground rules for this event:

Content that isn't allowed:

Anything that fetishizes or romanticizes things such as abuse, incest, or pedophilia. Works that explore these topics in a respectful way are allowed but there should be proper trigger warnings where applicable.

Sexually explicit content involving underage characters is not allowed in any capacity.

While this event is open to any fandom, certain fandoms such as AoT, Harry Potter, Hetalia, Hazbin Hotel, and related works are not allowed. If you aren't certain if a certain piece of media is allowed, you are welcome to ask!

Things to note

As this event is open to all ages, any and all sexually explicit content should be marked and filtered as such.

You can participate as much or as little as you like. You can make content for everyday of the month or only a day or two. There's no wrong or right way to partake in this event!

All forms of content creation is allowed: writing, art, moodboards, playlists, edits, headcanons, imagines, and so on and so forth.

There are no specific prompts or anything of that nature for this event, the only intended goal is to create more yuri rare ship content so I'm giving everyone free rein.

In what way was the baeddel post poor scholarship?

there are rhetorical and structural issues.

first, a lot of the sources are extremely weak. while he does use some primary sources, the vast majority of the posts cited are "someone who is clearly in opposition to so-called 'baeddelism' and/or 'baeddels' writing about them." if your argument about the formation and ideology of a group hinges on—not critical analysis of—but what amounts to hearsay, one needs to rewrite. this one is especially interesting because most of the secondary sourcing isn't even necessary, given the ( relative ) strength of the primary sources. this leads into another issue,

the framing, overall, is that

a) baeddelism was in its original form a coherent and organized group

b) that group was socially subservient to one or two rapists

c) all ideological and philosophical successors, and all successors who self-identify as baeddel for any reason, are intellectually subservient to those original ideas

i don't think that nothorses sufficiently proves those assertions. most importantly, i don't think in any way he demonstrates as clear and tight a lineage between the group of baeddels that were centered around eve in the early 2010s, and the loose network of theorists who describe themselves as baeddels in the mid-2020s. that would be a very hard assertion to demonstrate.

several times he compares both contemporary baeddels and the baeddels of yore to extremist GC groups, which i think is an extremely dangerous and transmisogynist assertion. loose sets of trans women writing and theorizing along similar lines, no matter how harmful their ideologies may or may not be, are a far fucking cry from highly organized, well-funded, and politically powerful hate groups. attributing lines of philosophical inquiry to a shadow council of wicked trans women is not good scholarship if you can't demonstrate that and it's just, like, a wretched thing to do.

there are several patently true things that he says: yes, there have been trans women who were ideologically opposed to the existence of trans men. yes, some of those trans women committed unspeakable acts of sexual violence. yes, people have been actively harmed by some people who have described themselves as baeddels. and, yes, trans men are oppressed, in ways that are specific to trans men. i don't take seriously anyone who would argue against those points. however, by failing to conclusively demonstrate his biiiig conclusion of bullet points, and by the number of subtly false statements ( there simply is not an organized cult of man-hating trans women seducing innocent eggs into hating trans men ) the work as a whole is undermined.

another, smaller, thing: there are a number of references to trans women being "seduced" or "controlled" by baeddels which feels to me very infantilizing and "oh these poor silly girls," which leaves a bad taste in my mouth

i don't hate nothorses, and i think he's done some very good writing on occasion. the post to which i am referring is not one of them. he's not making a conversational tumblr post. he uses the aesthetics and rhetorical framing of an argumentative critique and it should be judged as such.

• a physicist who's been around since the early 1800s, and has been wandering the earth since then as a ghost

• yet another victim of the temsik meteorite. was exposed to it after it crashed and broke into many fragments, one of them piercing ana through the eye which fortunately (or unfortunately) didn't kill her

• originally had the power to travel back in time 4 minutes to a person's death, but eventually lost these powers over the years though gained the ability to see into the future. though her visions are few and far between

• a bit of an old soul (literally and figuratively) with a thing for machinery. doesn't emote or talk that much and can accidentally come off as cold or callous, but is a lot more involved than you think

• doesn't trust the government at ALLLL. girl is literally acab

• dedicated her unlife to studying the temsik, but refuses to share her studies in fear of what people might do with her findings

• can 'launch' objects in the direction that they're facing as her ghost trick
