It's a new year! And that means a new profile Pic and watermark!

The biggest change is the swap from my milk-encapsuled-frog (patent pending/j) to my Sona! I decided on the swap because

It felt too branded? It didn't feel personalized or really meaningful, just an extension of my username

My Sona holds alot more of my identity, it's how I express myself in art

The frog is so hard to pose. It's literally in a milk carton and the perspective issues do not help.

How tf am I supposed to dress-up that frog in outfits, like do I put it in a different bottle?? Do I drill holes in a cola can???

I do love my froggy fellow but for now he will be retiring (maybe they'll find a hobby or start a band, they are freed from profile picture duty's to go do whatever they want).

Also I have two watermarks now! A signature and one with my Sona that's very reminiscent of my old watermark. All of my new stuff is more vibrant now to reflect alot more confidence and improvement in my art! I can't really explain the rainbowy stuff lmao, I just think it adds a bit of whimsy and looks neat.

If you joined us before November 2022 and predominantly post on web, you will be familiar with the two post editors—the legacy editor and the “new” web editor (formerly known as the “Beta editor”).

Beginning May 15, we’ll gradually be working to remove the legacy editor as an option for creating new posts. New posts created on web will be created in the new web editor. We hope to complete this change by July 15.

As mentioned in my other Project 2025 post, I've been looking for a shortish summary of the environmental impacts. This article covers the parts related to NOAA (the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration). NOAA encompasses the National Weather Service (NWS). The American public gets weather forecasts and severe weather warnings for free - I mean, we pay taxes to support NWS work and they give us the results for free. Your weather app, your local TV weather forecast is all based on NWS data.

Well, Project 2025 doesn't want it to be free anymore. No they want you to pay commercial companies for the privilege of knowing about approaching tornadoes.

The gist of the linked article is that Project 2025's goals around NOAA are:

Protect the profits of the fossil fuel industry by eliminating the ability of NOAA to research and report on the climate crisis and by restricting the permitting of wind farms.

Protect the profit of commercial weather services by eliminating features that Americans get now from the National Weather Service and making Americans reliant on for-profit forecasts.

Protect the profit of commercial fishermen by eliminating offices that oversee protected areas and weakening rules around causing harm to the environment and endangered animals.

Sounds fabulous. Add to that Trump's plans to repeal all of Joe Biden's massive climate programs (seriously, Biden passed the largest climate change law in history, through a 50-50 Senate btw) and Trump's promise to open up more federal lands (including ANWR) to oil and gas drilling, and even freaking coal mining.

You guys get you are a part of the problem right . You are letting Larian know they can get away with being racist as long as they feed fandom and whatever . Instead of actual quality of life updates and patching in content that would Actually help the game run better and feel finished , they just bloat the game and let companions go untouched with minimal content while playing into whatever the loudest voices in fandom demand the most .

The studio account should not be interacting with fandom so often . This blur between creators and fans is bad ! This leads to fans blindly defending and protecting a Game Studio that they have no connection to because haha larian mad a funny reply . And this also causes a feeling of ownership that should not be there ! You do not own a piece of bg3 and you should not be dictating it ! This is different from criticism btw . Just so we are Clear . Larian deserves and needs criticism .

It is super telling that they voices they are choosing to listen to are not voices that actually care about the game at its story . If they were , we would not have Zero Story for the Son of the Duke of Baldur’ s Gate and yet we have so much for a character that isn’ t actually tied into any major story beat ! We have no more for the character directly tied to Gortash with a prototype of the Steel Watch in her chest , but we can take a side character a few people wanted to bang and speed to have him included ad a full companion ! Instead of Dark Urge getting more content with Orin , Savrok and anyone else that had a tie to Bhaal , they get their relationship with a guy unrelated to all that be made to be read more and more explicitly romantic when that is just ruining the character !

Wyll should have a proper sex scene . He should have a romanced greeting that changes after the proposal . He should have more personal story content . He should have scenes of him in Baldur’ s Gate . The Emperor reveal as Balduran should not have been the main focus of HIS FINAL STORY QUEST . He should have hug and kiss options in the epilogue . People should comment on the engagement ! He should have all of this !! AND MORE FRANKLY .

But because everyone is so quick to forgive Larian , they’ ll never feel pressured to add any of this . They’ ll never feel like they’ ll loose players if they don’ t . Because you guys don’ t actually care . No , I am not saying thank you to larian for not giving me anything I have been asking for and sending feedback on for months . I am not thanking larian for choosing to bend over backwards to random big name fandom people who are racist and just want to fuck the pale guys again and again .

I'm on holiday in my home country rn and have been having a blast personally. Meeting relatives, childhood friends, the food, familiar places ect.

and I'll admit I do have a lot of free time outside that but honestly I do feel a wee bit burnt out ngl.

And with my spare time, I've jumped down the demon slayer rabbit hole

I'm sorry I haven't updated at all, the wips are still in my drafts. I have no formal posting schedule but after returning and getting some work sorted out I'll see what I can do! But no promises!

It is a WIP. It's a sketch for a shadowalkers piece (Wooh! Haven't heard of that au in a while eh?)

I have redesigned mostly Bai He's outfit and added a little pouch for Macaca. The change was mostly so I had more freedom to do different top designs for the new members of the fam!

If anyone has suggestions for outfit designs or accessories or jewelery, hair, anything! let me know pls!

This is just the WIP stage and I really want to achieve that semi-wild, untamed but mysterious and refined gypsy look.

Explaining Childes rank and why he is much stronger than 11th currently.

My lazy ass was busy with work, but here i am with another post for the few people that will see it.

In this community if you are a Tartaglia fan you probably saw him facing a lot of downplay when it comes to his strength and how he matches up against some characters that dont really stand a chance against him( Diluc). So in this thread ill address most of the downplay people use against him and why its all horrendous and how strong he truly is.

Lets start off with how strong just being a low ranked fatui harbinger makes you:

What Diluc is implying here is that you can do whatever shit you want(almost) because of their diplomacy which is tied to their strength as well. This same Diluc who was happy to raid the fatui right after hearing Signora is here was rushing us to escape. Same Diluc FOUGHT some of the harbingers and has expert knowledge on sneznhaya and is one of the strongest in Mondstadt. Yet he still wanna gets out of there ONLY when he hears she is coming.

Now Childe himself: He fights the Traveler with 2 elements and only loses duo to resorting to Foul Legacy out of rage. Its stated by paimon and archives that fight was extremely close with Childe in delusion having a slight advantage.

To add onto this, this same traveler is AN EQUAL to Ganyu. Another character people believe smokes Childe..

Now we get onto the juicy stuff as far as Childes rank is concerned in 2.2 event that many people missed out on.

Shiki Taishou makes this statement after already seeing traveler in combat, putting Childe>traveler, same traveler who BEAT Signora who is ranked higher.

PAIMON, the person who watched Traveler fight Signora and knows about fatui rankings still believes Childe is the strongest one on the team. She also teases Childe and how we would beat his butt in a rematch, so we have no reason to believe she would be biased in his favor.

I even have the CN TL: 危險之中。我們不能讓他死在那裡！他是隊伍裡最強的 !- says the same thing.

The way we can explain his rank not being updated is a few things:

We learned from the natlan AQ that Capitanos rank wont be changed, meaning Dottore wont be promoted to his rightful nr1 spot.

We know pantalone didnt take signoras spot after she died as well, meaning updates are not as regular as they should be.

There is no proof Tsaritsa would be aware constantly of Childes progress, meanwhile Paimon and Traveler fought Childe, saw his progress in both his story quest and now.

With that mind, Tartaglia would currently be >Signora and by proxy stronger than anyone weaker than Signor and Inazuma traveler which is pretty good.

FONTAINE

Now here is the part that the 5 people that are reading this are excited for. This is where Childe turns into an absolute monster and one of the strongest characters in the lore.

This might be the most MISSINTEPRETED fight in fiction by any fandom ever. I have never seen people downplay and overrate 2 characters present more in my life.

Lets head to 0:57. Childe, while in his delusion form still transforming, manages to react to Neuvilette OFF GUARD from behind and lands a scratch on him. Neuvilette also knocked him out, which doesnt actually require you to be stronger than the opponent if you do it while they cant protect themselves.

And yes, there are genuinely people who believe this wasnt a scratch on Neuvilette btw xD

And here comes the Narvhal fight which also people lie and spread miss-information about.

Childe only distracted the narvhal, he didnt do any damage!

Neuvilette underestimated the narvhal in the courtroom!

Skirk called him weak, while she called us strong so obviously traveler and Neuvilette clap Childe!

First point can just be debunked by...actually watching the Narvhal cutscene. We see Childe not only outspeed and physically overpowered it, but also scratching and piercing its skin. Keep in mind, this same Childe COLLAPSED right afterwards because he was fighting for many many days.

2)You know whats funny though?The same Neuvilette people hype up for quote on quote one shotting Childe, could not damage the narvhal without a charged attack and got his barrier popped in 4 seconds. He couldnt hold it off for 20 seconds and needed Childe who was on deaths doors to step in and save his ass.

Cant even tickle the narvhal.

Narvhal pops it in 4 seconds. Neuvilette would notice his barrier being cracked and renforce it if he was underestimating it for god knows what reason, but he didnt.

Childe outspeeds it so bad. It was just about to eat the civilians and Childe was coming all the way down from the portal and still overpowered it at 1% of his strength left.

Scratches it multiple times

Pierces it

Neuvilette was also aware that Narvhal is the root of the prophecy and civilians are under danger. There is no reason he would hold back the strength of his shield or attack potency of his attacks.

I wont spam the full conversation, but he was very well aware of everything and why it had attacked here.

Even the archives agree that Neuvilette cannot stop the whale alone and needs to team up with knocking on deaths doors Tartaglia.

And the FINAL point:Skirk was talking in relation to young Ajax. If people had actually read the dialogue they would know it. Paimon says how Childe said Skirk was very quiet and Skirk says she doesnt talk to weaklings. But that Childe...was just a 14 year old Ajax. Of course he would be considered a weakling.

Traveler also had his strength buffed by Neuvilette and fought against a narvhal that was weakened from all the fighting and yet it was still described as a tough fight for us.

Navia says its not at full power and Neuvilette in response to this even says he is grateful Childe delayed it for so long LMAO.

All in all this thread is getting way too long so ill stop here. But if any of you Childe fans are arguing against our boys haters, just go back to this thread. Childe is currently the strongest non god tier character in Genshin and he will only continue to grow.

I would put his current rank at around 4-5, depending on how strong the Rooster is.

enough gushing it's time for some truly unimportant Veilguard criticism, I made a list. it's all about looks and character creation btw

1. people in Thedas have not updated their fashion sense ever. the crows tried to save Veilguard from more fashion terrorism but it was not enough, especially not when they had to go up against outfits from Mourn Watchers and Lords of Fortune

2. male haircuts: buzzcut, buzzcut but longer, clean shaven, two more skin-lenght options, Illario, balding on top long on the sides, lobster tail

3. you want eyebrows that don't look batshit insane? we have 4 of them. what do you mean you need more? 50 eyebrows with 4 somewhat regular ones is perfectly fine

4. you begged us for a character creator screen that doesn't look like it's set in the darkest corner of the deepest cave, so here are several different lightings for you so you can decide. they all suck

5. you want to see your character (who happens to have dark skin) in the dark? too bad

6. you can't change the shape of the eyes, mouth or nose but here, you can at least have like nine different types of ears

7. wdym you want natural eye colors, neon blue and neon green are very natural. what are you saying? you want them to be red? figure something out, that's not a natural eye color therefore it's not an option.

8. we got nonbinary options. nice, right? we don't have a middle ground for the voices though, you don't get to have a somewhat gender neutral option for the voice. sowwy

9. here's a nudity toggle! it's for the unlikely occasion that you remember to set your female Rook to keep her tits out. there is, in fact, no nudity or sex. there is implied sex but when they finish everyone's still in their underwear. remember Iron Bull, Sera or Dorian? yeah none of that. zero percent of that in fact, but you have a nudity toggle.

10. all Rooks will walk with their legs spread like a cowboy and their arms as far away from their bodies as humanly possible. no we will not elaborate

11. so you think the makeup in Thedas would have more muted colors? well here's glitter, neon pink and fake lashes. oh, you also think makeup in Thedas would involve less 2016 makeup and more symbols and face paint? no we don't have any of that sorry. you can look for face paint in the face paint section and blanch due to how ugly the options are. btw the face paint WILL cover up the makeup so think about that before you spend an hour trying to make it look okay

I prefer the nuance and poetry of the scans more, but true, some information is different, but overall basically the same. Also, sheesh, get with the 21st century official translators. "Humanity" is far more inclusive than "man" (grinds teeth) (Edit in: But read below). (The use of 'with' for the sun god and serpent can be read a few ways. The texts are written in a poetic style. In particular, the words 隷人 (slave), 片われ月 (half-moon), and 残影 (afterimage) are difficult vocabulary that an average JP person has probably never even heard in their lifetime. Oda has successfully elevated the tone of the text.💪

[LOST IN TRANSLATION:] The subject of "won't meet again" is 彼ら, which in Japanese is male third person plural. English gender neutralizes "they" so this nuance gets a bit lost (whereas other languages, like French ils/elles or Spanish ellos/ellas retains gender). If I were translating for publication I'd just keep it as "they" but just wanted to highlight the nuance here in case it were relevant. But in the same way as something like "those guys" in English, it can mean a man + an undefined number of other people of any gender. So it could be a man and a woman, a man and a large group of people, or a large group of people in general. But I would argue that if it really were just two people, a word like "the two of them" would be used (especially in Japanese) rather than a broader plural term, so I think this is most likely referring to a larger group of people than just two individuals. This is a very important distinction I feel. So because of that, I'm not so sure if it's referring to the meeting of two Kings the Sea Kings mentioned (which might just be Joyboy and Poseidon in that case) or two people as a whole, but rather a big group of people. Hard to say, but I wonder if it's just referring in a broader way to all people, the union of all people and races as "one piece". That makes the most sense to me at least, as it would make sense by context that the subject is all those previously mentioned. Like "at last, all people will be united as one instead of being separate" 🤔

That's what I mentioned in the tweet as well! If this were in terms of a professional translation for publication, I'd definitely translate it as "they". I just wanted to highlight that nuance by writing it this way here since most English readers might miss the gendering Btw, given what you said in the tweet, which is basically what I mentioned as well, would you agree that the use of 彼ら over something like 二人 indicates this is more logically (though not strictly necessarily) referring to a larger group of people than just two indidivudals [sic]? That's kind of the feeling I got and was what I was trying to illustrate 🤔

Okay, Artur didn’t simplify any of the Japanese. There is the standard Japanese for half moon, and the kanji that Sandman has used above is closer to a crescent or fragmented moon, even though Viz used half moon for both moons.

I decided to listen to you and not change my name, because I love it and the name was given by my sister (who died when I was 14) anyway, I decided Americans are not worth it. Anyway, you looking it up to pronounce it right literally made me so happy, thank you (yes the pronunciation is correct, and sorry for the late update I wasn't planning on updating originally)

But I added a name, (Olive bc I realized I can name myself anything bc America is not strict on this topic, like what? You can name yourself after olive??? I chose it because it's funny in my language. It's like I named myself cheese or something, anyway.)

Then my Friend was like, "האם אתה טיפש" (it means are you dumb or something like that) so I added an r and made it Oliver- anyway, now I have 2 names- which was weird at first but still.

Then I learned it's a common name for trans people because when I told my name to a coworker she was like, are you trans???? And I didn't know it was common to change your name to Oliver- it's not a bad name at least, but Elijah was nice too.

Anyway x3, so I decided I don't like Americans much (no offense to you I love you xoxo) because I didn't want to change or add a new name much, but they were being rude and annoying, so I just gave up, it doesn't worth to correct them, i am tired.
