Okay so hear me out. This was a worm I’ve been thinking about lately, which is bizarre, because it isn’t inherently Steddie…

But we get all kinds of fics of if Eddie and/or Robin were pulled into things earlier than their seasons. But…

What if Tommy and Carol were pulled into things with Steve? Like, picture it…

Instead of ditching Steve after his fight with Jonathan, Steve and Tommy and Carol hash it out a bit more, get into a bigger argument maybe even, and maybe they do separate for a bit. But then they’re still friends, so maybe they huff and puff about it but they talk things out too. Maybe Steve even gets to somewhat convince them that they should all apologize, even if Tommy and Carol don’t really want to or care all that much.

So all three of them go to do so, and all three of them see the demogorgon, and all three of them have that life altering paradigm shift. Maybe Carol and Tommy don’t change completely, at least not immediately, but they’re forced to confront that there’s more than just high school popularity contests, and maybe they become just that little bit of better people.

Maybe Carol and Nancy have a genuine talk, genuinely open up to each other, and no one can ever replace Barb of course, but it’s nice to have another female friend, even if they’re pretty much polar opposites.

Tommy isn’t fond of Jonathan at all, because demogorgon aside, it was creep behavior taking photos of them like that. Tommy helps pitch in to get Jonathan his new camera though, because he egged on Steve’s insecurities (brought on by the fact that Steve’s dad has cheated on his mom so he’s really sensitive to potential cheating in partners) and he guesses he’s partly to blame. He rolls his eyes about it, but Steve is happy he has his friend beside him still.

Tommy and Carol don’t really take to the kids much, but Carol does secretly enjoy getting into bitching sessions with Mike, and later Erica.

When Billy shows up, maybe Tommy and Carol start backsliding. Maybe they have to have a big blowup. Maybe they aren’t there when Steve gets dragged in helping Dustin, at least not immediately, but maybe they hear about Steve dealing with that without them because they chose Billy and they just…they…

They can’t believe they left Steve to deal with that horror by himself. They feel guilty and terrible and they tell Billy off. They can’t believe they chose some stupid popularity that doesn’t even matter over the guy that literally went to bat for them. They’re at the end with him, apologizing for not being there before, and they become even better people.

They come around to lovingly tease Steve at his job at Scoops, wheedling free ice cream out of him. And who knows, maybe telling Billy off changes the third season, maybe them being there, better people and supportive of Steve changes things, maybe the three of them can even change Billy to an extent. Maybe, Steve and Tommy and Carol and Billy hashing it all out and coming to terms with the toxicity of high school and judgemental parents and a society that believes you need to be a certain way to matter…maybe it changes things for the better.

Idk. I’ve just always wondered how things would have gone if Tommy and Carol had been exposed to the truth the first season.

And then blah blah blah, Steve and Eddie eventually fuck about it. Because I am nothing if not a Steddie truther in everything. And who knows…maybe Robin and Carol fuck about it also 😏

I’m not a Jace stardiamond is a good teacher truther or a Jace Stardiamond is a bad teacher truther I’m a Jace Stardiamond realist. He’s good at being endlessly supportive to shy and scared sorcerer freshman, his reflexes on counterspell or dispel are insane, he spends most of his day making sure the kids in his class aren’t doing the fantasy equivalent of jumping the chain link fence and biting their classmates so even if he did lesson plan (which he doesn’t) he wouldn’t even have time to get to the curriculum anyway. Everyone thinks he’s barely a “teacher” but the fragile ecosystem of Aguefort Academy would easily crumble without him bc he’s so covert about making sure everything looks as easy breezy cool as ice and making sure nobody is poking their nose in his classroom (stupid wizards). He’s good at making connections with his kids but overly familiar with them to the point of being more teacher as friend and. He’s very good at magic and is very good at making sorcery seem appealing and cool and unscary and not a curse (I’m not a perfect teacher but please stick around bc this will literally save your life and by the end of four years you’re gonna love it and yourself) but he’s also personally naturally so good at sorcerery and never learned how to like, work and build on skills to achieve goals that giving the upperclassman actual useful feedback is beyond his reach, and they are frustrated by his limitations but at least he lets them text in class. He has inside jokes with his students which includes the whole “we only talk about how great innate magic is all day” but also if you’re a student who struggles to pick things up he doesn’t know what much more to do to help beyond just. Being supportive. Listen. I don’t know how to help you. The girls who get it, get it. Jace loves when the girls who get it, get it because he was always a girl who got it. He’s the Permissive Parent who thinks he’s Gentle Parent to Porter’s Tough Love, but the one thing they have in common is that when they think a student has promise they’re honestly shameless in their ability to play favorites. Remus Lupin :

He has loads of jumpers and his friends always steal them bc they’re really big and comfy (and ugly but that’s honestly apart of their appeal.)

HE LOVES MUSIC. He loves listening to it for hours on end just sitting down, reading a book, WHENEVER he is free. He can also play music (p guitar). He can sing.

His love language is quality time. He wants to sit in a room with you in silence, do things with you, ANYTHING. Its also physical touch, but that’s only for people he really cares about.

He is not a morning or a night person. He is a day person. He can and will fall asleep anywhere if he’s with people he trusts or alone. This man just is not able to fall asleep in the average hours everyone else does. He is up all night, then sleeping in between lessons it confuses everybody around him on how he is still functioning

He loves pepperoni pizza, and will have debates (arguments) with people who like pineapple on pizza. 

It sometimes takes him a while to process something someone has said, especially when there is overwhelming noise, smell, or touch.

He doesn’t have an obsession with chocolate, everybody just thinks he does. He carries it around with him for a few reasons, 1.He heard it kills/makes dogs sick so he is trying to make the werewolf in him sick enough that he won’t hurt people/himself. 2. When people are sad he wants to cheer them up. 3. When he’s stressed he tends to bite the inside of his cheek/nails so eating chocolate helps stop that. 

White chocolate is his enemy.

He is a ball of anxiety. He literally cannot be in his head for more than ten minutes without distractions because he overthinks everything he does, other people or doing, anything and everything that has happened, is happening, and ever will happen. 

He literally hates social interaction. He was adopted, not befriended. Interaction with strangers is a no-no, but if someone walks up to him and starts talking to him he is never,never,ever mean. 

He is the politest, most kind soul on the fucking planet. 

HE DOES NOT HAVE ANGER ISSUES. In fact, he has a lack-of-anger issues. He may be tall, but he would never hurt anyone, shout at anyone, say anything intended to be hurtful or rude. If he is rude/mean to someone (which he isn’t) you know they fucking deserve it.

Lily Evans :

The longest she’s had her is down to her butt, and the shortest is just below her shoulders. SHE LOVES LONG HAIR! 

Academic Validation. She needs it, she needs to prove that she is better than everyone who says she shouldn’t be there because of her parents/blood.

She loves petunia so much, but she doesn’t like her. 

She genuinely didn’t like james & sirius for the first three years of hogwarts. GENUINELY. Like it was fond exasperation or anything she despised those bitches.

1. doesn’t need to be said but i’m saying it anyway. brown-eyed lance. if i don’t get that tag within a year i am rioting.

2. i LOOOOOOOVE modern aus. they are my bread and butter. i will read a thousand of them. i will WRITE a thousand of them. i love seeing a world built around the essence of these characters, and i love building them more. where would lance be, if he wasn’t in voltron? which of the characters are friends before the whole group finally connects? how do coran and allura fit? where do they work? where do they live? i love it. every decision is a confession.

3. i think everyone needs to have more fun with shiro and allura’s characters. for whatever reason (racism), people like to write them as the villains?? or as boring assholes who are incapable of fun and/or emotions?? anyways it’s the worst. let allura and shiro be stuoid and young and fun 2k23.

4. my favourite thing to write is weird, half analytical backstories/prequels for all the characters, and i love reading them too. what are their families like? what pets if their childhood shaped the way we see them now? who did they learn their habits from? i need to know everything. i have a specific hunk & lance fic i’m thinking about that was never finished, but that changed my entire perception of both of their characters forever. i am so nosy and people in this fandom who create these entire intricate backstories for these characters we already love are so important to me

5. keith’s fanon character in general lowkey pisses me off. i feel like people are OBSESSED with writing him very one dimensional??? like either this kind of mean emo or like tsundere blushing schoolgirl??? anyways it’s weird. keith loves his friends SO much. he cares about everyone everywhere all the time, he’s literally always thinking about what he can do to help people (or he’s being a dorky dumbass lol), he cares so much so often and so deeply. he tries his hardest and puts his all into everything. he loves hugs even though he’s awkward with it. he cries frequently. he wants a mom and at the same time he doesn’t. he loves his brother and his teammates. like??? please please PLEASE i’m begging y’all don’t do keith dirty okay

10. okay this used to be a big thing for me and i don’t write it much anymore (largely bc i don’t feel i’m very qualified too) but genderqueer lance is very important to me. genderqueer all of the team, honestly, i think we should fuck around with all of their shit, not just pidge! i read this one author who would make literally all of the teams trans & nb and it was awesome. nb hunk was something i never knew i needed but something that was so obviously true. i don’t write it too often bc i tend to make everyone very feminine (i love being a girl i love being a girl so so much it blows my mind that not everyone doesn’t want to be a girl all the time it’s AMAZING and thank you trans women for teaching me that), and i know it’s a genuine problem with over-feminization of queer characters in fanon so i don’t do it to often. but there are some amazing trans authors out there who fuck with the team’s gender beautifully and it’s a pleasure to read every single time!!

11. lol and as my username suggests, i’m a big fan of autistic lance!!! i’m also huge on adhd keith, which i know very few other people have in their fics, but i wrote an essay on it a while back and i do very much agree that autistic lance and adhd keith are canon and i would LOVE to see more people write it!!

in terms of teamwork, heavy and medic are drift compatible and we knew that. i think the engineer and scout probably have a solid coworker relationship in that scout actually listens to his directions and engie actually pays attention to what scout’s up to. we know demosolly are best friends, and i’m also a demo and sniper as best friends forever truther. potentially even demosniperscout as the terrible frat boys of the team. i also like to think that medic and spy hang out. not like they decide to hang out or make plans, like whenever they’re in the same room and someone else walks in they always feel like they’re inturrupting something.
