Grown Up Jisung
Masterlist
Author Note: Random drop of NCT stuff today, as I missed writing about them and had an urge to write it! Happy Reading!
Ever since Jisung, went out with Jaemin and Jeno for his coming of age dinner. Jisung personality has changed and is trying to be adult in the wrong way.
It all started when Chenle, asked Jisung to hang out. Jisung rolled his eyes at him and ignored him and went out to grab more soju. It lead to Chenle being shocked as Jisung never done that. It lead to Chenle protective brother mode coming on (he will never admits it) , someone has made Jisung bad.
Who is responsible for Jisung sudden change in behaviour?
Back At Dreamies Chat
Today 21:00
Chenle🐬: WHO RUINED JISUNG!!!
Renjun🌱: Does it look it will be us? It will 100% will be you!!
Haechan🕺: Yeah! Me and Junnie always take care of Jisung
Renjun🌱: Don’t you dare call me Junnie. It’s Renjun to you!
Haechan🕺: We are besties!! We have to call eachother cute names. Give me one!
Renjun🌱: Idiot
Haechan🕺: How about we pick another one? Oh oh your sunflower~
Chenle🐬: THIS IS NOT ABOUT RENJUN AND HAECHAN WERID FREINDSHIP! JISUNG HAS BEEN TAINTED
Renjun🌱: Lele? Did you take Jisung to see 18+ movie?
Chenle🐬: STOP BLAMING IT ON ME! I never take Jisung to that! It sounds like you two, who will do it!!
Jeno🐶: Chenle! Stop angry texting and stomping! You are disturbing me!!
Chenle🐬: Appa!! Jisung has changed in a bad way!! He literally eye rolled me and told me stop being bossy!
Jeno🐶: About time, he stood up for himself!
Jaemin🌸: What happened to my baby?
Renjun🌱: So Lele, is making a big fuss because Jisung talked back at him…?
Chenle🐬: YEA! He never does that! That why he is my mi- I mean my very very close friend
Jaemin🌸: Jeno!? Did you teach Jisung these things?
Jeno🐶: I did not…well partially

Chenle🐬: Ever since he become an adult! He strangely become mature…I don’t like it…
Jisung😎: Heyo hyungs!!
Renjun🌱: Jisung..? Buddy…? Why sudden change in behaviour…? You being like not yourself
Jisung😎: Appa and Eomma showed me the world of being an adult! They even took me out for some Soju on my birthday!
Jisung😎: That’s when it got werid…Eomma literally started to flirt with Appa and done some inappropriate things!!
Chenle🐬: Eomma and Appa? They said they were treating you to seaweed soup!
Renjun🌱: This gave me flashback of my 21st birthday! They left me at the bus stop and saw something that I wish I never seen!
Mark🐯: Oh you guys talking about Eomma and Appa coming age soju…you guys are so lucky! They went wild on mine and with DoTae as well! I was traumatised for weeks
Jisung😎: I guess that what an adult is like! I need to act more like them!

Jisung😎: They are the parents…they supposed to be right!!
Renjun🌱: I help as well…in case Mark has another issue again
Chenle🐬: Jisung! Being an adult it not being bad! But being responsible! No one taints my baby bro
Whilst the kid were busy discussing in how to teach Jisung being an adult. The parents on the other hand were discussing something
Back At Nomin Chat
Jeno🐶: Hey Nana! That wasn’t cool! Pushing the blame one me! You started it first!
Jaemin🌸: You an easy target! I gotta keep my rep!
Jeno🐶: How we gonna fix this! We were out of control and we made another child traumatised!
Jaemin🌸: Well…it’s not my fault…you just were sitting there cutely! I just want to bite you

Jaemin🌸: Jeno stop being funny! You never care about the kids! How about we pretend to not know anything and magically Jisung will forget everything

what is cithare i have never heard but i am intrigued
-karmaicperfection
hi! okay so.
Cithare is a Minecraft plugin- Actually more context.
My boyfriend's older brother is a software engineer whose life goes like (in his words) "I Came, I Saw, I Became An Adminstrator"- No more context.
Somewhen around second half of the 19th century a cook from a local castle carved several sculptures right into the sandstone rocks that are scattered through the local woods. While they are not the most famous of the set, the most prominent two in this story are the Chapel of Mary Magdalene and the Harper. (This is enough information you need to find out where I live, by the way).
Both my boyfriend and his older brother and several of our common friends are members of the local Scouts chapter.[1] They organise an annual mostly-Scout LARP-esque battle in the local woods with the lore being an alternate reality where the Harper statue (rock-carving?) is instead a zitherist and the capital of a fantasy kingdom this battle is fought over is Cithare (because Zithere looks weird). The Harper (Cithare) and Chapel of Mary Magdalene are important landmarks both for the game and orientation
If my memory serves right, the managed to do it precisely once before the Big Covid Lockdown came and stabbed the biggest pitchfork related to gathering a hundred or so kids together imaginable to mankind into it.
At which point my salty beanpole's brother and our friend and this friend's friend/ex-classmate said: "Hey, almost everyone we know has some version of Minecraft, at least a cracked one. It can't be that hard for a software engineer and two studying software engineers to write a plugin for Minecraft that would simulate score points for capturing points and killing members of opposing teams."
[1] I was part of the Scouts for, like, three weeks, that was until my mother heard the kids pledging loyalty and promised to unquestioningly obey the superiors.
At first it was one slightly altered map, duct-taped together code to keep track of score, and around a dozen of Scouts who were allowed to stay out of the bad past 10 PM. Currently it is a Discord server of 100 members, developing team of 12 people (activity varying). For now and the foreseeable future it is strictly CZ/SK and invite-only.
The plugin itself supports English (in which it is written), Czech (translated by yours truly and salty beanpole boyfriend) and Pirate Speak (translated by me, helped a bottle of gin and Alestorm for moral support and authenticity). The entire plugin is a dedication to the founding dev team being huge nerds who applied as much of Team Fortress and DOTA possible to Minecraft.
Currently the Cithare plugin has two alternating maps:
The original one, expanded and built upon, with 4 static capture points (called flags) and 4 travelling points (they remain in place, but only 1 of them is active at the time, switching activity through the game.) There are several points of interest
Chapel of Mary Magdalene: the south-situated world spawn
Cithare: The capital of the kingdom in the middle, a static capture point. It is build indeed like a city, originally meant from rooftop-chase and parkour combat, usually just TNTed to oblivion
The Crossroad: A static capture point in the east, previously in a barren plain. Since it in the first five minutes turned into a crater with obisdian platfrom around the flag (beacon), it is now overgrown with trees which make it mroe interesting of a fight.
The Last Watch: A static capture point, a tower in the north. Current meta-game: Sniper's nest, unless Skydiver is allowed, then you need a blast-resistant sniper.
The Scarp: A static capture point in an underground cave in the west. Current meta: Either put water above the flag and waterfall down or slap a teleporter down there.
The Sunken Temple: An underwater travelling capture point in the central southwest sea. Current meta: Gladiator dominance.
The old sunken temple: The previous spot where the aforementioned travelling flag was, in the southeastern sea. Currently hosts the Carp, a miniboss, the killing of which grants a custom achievement.
The Fairy Rings: A travelling capture point on an island between two rivers in central southeast.
Grannny's House: A travelling flag on a floating island to northeast. It is inaccessible by other means than putting down blocks and climbing them or flying. Inside is a hostile witch named Granny. Granny's house is notably made of nether and twisted nether blocks with a crater on the ground below it. It has been moved. though I don't remember where the original location was
The Secret Sanctum: An underground travelling flag to northwest. My pride and joy, because this is when I joined in on the project. Guys were like: "People don't visit Zamar because is in the middle of hellish nowhere. Let's make a new one, and let's make it an underground dungeon labyrinth where people get lost." And I was like "Hey, I'm a DM, you need an underground labyrinth? I'll do it." And then I did it. And then everyone and their dog complained that they get lost in the labyrinth. and since above it was an irrigated field, they waterfalled down. So in the next patch I removed the irrigation and added new entrances. The Secret Sanctum is great.
The Ruins of Zamar: A permanently inactive travelling flag in the south in the ruins of an old city. Zamar is the Ancient Kingdom on the corpse of which Cithare was founded.
The Pirate Ship: A ship west of Cithare City in the sea, sevres as the spawn for the Pirate team.
Four elemental shrines which currently do nothing scattered through the far ends of the map, and the Altar on the mountain in the middle, close to Cithare, wher eplayers can sacrifice essences.
Then as a "big reveal" we added the Air map with which I helped a lot more.
It features the same flags, because they are tried and trusty, with some changes:
Cithare flag is now indeed in the middle of the town, the place is more densely built over, so indeed there is town combat.
The Mines have replaced the Cliff, they are a large chasm. (The renaming was because "Watch" and "Scarp" in Czech sound similar and in voice-chat people got misnavigated because of that)
Rather than one big Altar for four essences, there are now four tiny altars for one essence.
The Mysterious Sanctum is much bigger and better navigable (in my opinion) than the Secret Sanctum, and also it is well lit. It has tons of loot, but most of it is well hidden. (Secret Cithare lore: Honey blocks in Sanctum.)
Zamar is now imitating the Deep Dark biome (I lovingly call it Shallow Dark), yes that includes the Warden, I think there is an achievement but not sure. There are ominous messages, though.
The Last Watch tower is not as tall, but it has dungeons.
There is an Airship rather than Granny's House.
The Fairy Rings are situated on a glaze terracota mushroom cap as an island rather than on a normal island.
The Glen has replaced the Crossroad, it is surrounded on all sides. Because of the Glen location we actually chose this seed for the map.
Speaking of, the entire map was generated in 1.18 Minecraft, so it is rather more vertical (hence the name Air. The original map, is known as Water, because it has a lot of seas). As such it features a lot of bridges and three flightpaths, as in you hop on a phantom and fly around the map as if it was a bus!
At the beginning of the game you get picked into a team. Players who are odd or come late end up in the Pirate team which doesn't aim for winning, it's supposed to sow chaos and help the losing team, they also cannot capture flags. After getting into a team you pick one of 15 (17) classes. Regular teams pick regular classes, Pirate team picks Pirate classes. Anyone can roll a class randomly with a 5 % chance of getting a class they dont' have access to (Pirates for regular classes, regular teams for pirate classes)
Footman - usually banned from play, meant to be granted to beginning players. Generates low bounty (score awarded for killing) unless it scores more than 3 kills in succession. Can't do anything interesting
King - Must be played in King's draft, only 1 per team possible. High bounty, can teleport teammates to themselves, shares food de/buffs with nearby teammates, has golden armour
General - High bounty, can buff teammates with a warhorn, has a summonable horse
Warrior - no interesting skills. Starts with better armour and weapons. "normal mode" class
Marksman - Can track a tag (knows who controls it) and can foretell weather. Can ender-pearl teleport and then teleport back to the original place. Starts with a bow. Sniper.
Scout - Can turn invisible, can masquarede as another player, can capture a flag with an arrow
Gladiator - Has a riptide trident, cobwebs and an enchanted golden apple, gains more score for killing successful players. Doesn't start with a pickaxe, can't use axe as a weapon, cannot use an elytra. Gladiator has been the subject of the most patch-fixes, getting and losing a shield, because of this class the weather is very customised and so forth.
Engineer - Has a portal Gun for placing two-way teleporters (only 1 pair can be active, teleporting has a cooldown) and a remote TNT detonator.
Quartermaster - funnily enough this one has existed, then it got deleted, after over a year it was made anew. Currently has a pocket ender chest through which they can put items to they teammates' spawn-chests, and permanent night vision.
Alchemist - has a store-mode in which they can buy alchemical reagents and/or potions. They gain weaknesses opposite to resistances. They get store-coins by eating honey and spider eyes
Mage - Swiss army knife of classes, has 4 spells. They may pick a specialisation which buffs 1 spell and gives passive abilities. The spells are: healing, confusing player's looks and names for enemy players, AOE fire dmaage, and targeted lighting strikes.
Skyriver - Usually banned, has a sturdy elytra, can drop a lit TNT.
Pirate - Pirate class, has a portal gun (pirated), Pocket Boat (AKA PokéBoat ) and Dolphin's Grace in water. Parallels the Warrior/Engineer class
Rogue Inquisitor - Pirate class. Anti-mage. Is immune to all Mage's spells, has Witchhammer - a book-weapon that sets target on fire. Parallels the Warrior/Mage class
Arbalist - Pirate Class. Has a rocket-launcher crossbow (Arrrbow). Parallels the Marksman class
Shapeshifter - Can turn into a skeleton (infinity bow), dolphin (water breath, dolphin's grace), chicken (slow falling), zombie (resistance 1), spider (night vision), creeper (self-detonation) or enderman (infinite ender pearl). Parallels the Scout class)
Raider - has a very fast horse and can debuff everyone around with war horn. Parallels the General class.
Currently there are no games (strictly speaking Test Sessions) planned, because it's the summer holidays.
If you are interested in the maps, they are downloadable: Water Air
(Look at the Sanctums, I am very proud of them :3)

lol the edits with taeyong and doyoung and rose are so funny i had never seen rose with other neos! i guess people will ship any girl to a guy if they breathe next to each other.
yeah dotae are very platonic to me. that's just how i see them. and when i put dotae and jaeyong next to jaedo, they really pale in comparison to jaedo. i think it comes down to what people want out of their media romance. i gravitate towards a love like jaedo's. the way jaehyun acts with doie is truly unmatched and adorable.
i agree with your point about the rings + taking the focus off jaedo. i think what makes me call it fanservice is how doyoung pushed ring-gate to the forefront of the public eye. it was a calculated move on doyoung's part. lucas and winwin also have friendship rings and no one talks about it. other neos share similar things that dont get noticed or talked about. i dont think 6k is that much, because the og intention was to have nice rings with your bestie.
taeyong wanted friendship rings. taeyong told doyoung in private he wanted them. and doyoung made it public in that famous clip (kiss on the hand). and then he went and got the rings and called taeyong during the vlive telling him to show them lol we get it doyoung you wanna make it an announcement ahahahaha. at the time i didnt even think this, i thought it was super cute, and that it was just because doyoung was jealous of baekhyun. but in retrospect i see things differently. doyoung curates his idol image, didnt he say so himself?
and btw, i think taeyong is gay, or another lgbtqia+ identity, just not plain straight basically. but in love with doyoung? no. especially when doyoung is in love with someone else? that would be hella awkward for the entire 127 and it would bleed into their interactions at least a little. do you think jaehyun shows signs of being jealous of taeyong? i honestly never noticed that.
You are correct, people will ship anyone who stood 10 m from each other. I simply write two random names and google, most of the time I get a return of at least a few manips for any combo. These manips are mostly done for wattpad stories, maybe that's why you didn't come across them on TW. aespa is heavily shipped with Dream, for example.
Jaehyun/Karina is also a thing. I guess it's just the "most popular+most popular" and "most handsome + most beautiful" equation. And whether some particular combo becomes widespread is a chance thing (if an acc with lots of followers starts to post about a certain ship, naturally, it will get advantage over other variants).
I wish I can say that 6k is not much... heh.
Yes, Do used the rings, and Tae didn't like it (instead of the rings he talked too much about Do's new pendant, heh). I must say that I can't know it 100%, but, personally, I'm pretty positive Do called from his holiday with Jae in Guri, that's why Tae was hurt. The rings were supposed to be "their" secret thing, maybe Tae even envisioned some cheap ones bought together in some small store during a walk (or wanted to buy them himself, he did ask for the ring size, afterall), but instead the rings ended to be more as PR and a cover up. Tae even said the rings are DoTae+fans during that vlive.
I think Taeyong is straight, and everyone is lucky it is so, heh. Jae and Tae struggle to share Doyoung as it is.
Yes, Jaehyun was jealous of Taeyong (and practically all other members) before JaeDo started dating. There is an understanding now, though. One should remember that Jae was Tae's maknae before Doyoung even entered SM. JaeYong have their own hyung-dongsaeng history.

Writing Commissions Open! (Discounts on Epic, Fourth Wing, BG3 & D&D)
Hello, everyone! I'm opening commissions for writing! I'm a fandom writer, so unfortunately I don't write completely original content. I have a plethora of fandoms for you to choose from and my rate is $2 for every 100 words. (So a 5k story would cost $100 and a 800 word story would cost $16.)
Payment would take place after the story is finished. Here is how the process goes!
We discuss what you want and what your budget is.
I write. I don't like writing with a solid word count goal in mind because depending on what you want, I might end up needing to stretch it out or cut it down and no one likes a choppy story. So I write until I feel the story is complete and has fulfilled your desires, and we calculate the price from how much I've written.
When I'm halfway done, you get to read it and see if it's going in the right direction. If you don't like it, I will then rewrite but rewrites will only occur at that halfway mark!
When the project is finished, I will then demand payment BEFORE delivery. If there are any edits you want me to make, I'll make them free of charge! (So long as it doesn't involve rewriting the entire story, that will then be a separate payment.)
I have a couple rules, as well!
I don't follow a time schedule. I have a very busy schedule and write at my own pace - however I try to get it done as quickly as possible. If you feel I'm taking too long, feel free to nudge me!
I don't write poly relationships. Sorry, I'm just uncomfortable with it. Or underage NSFW.
I write fxm, mxm and fxf. Can be either OCs or canon characters!
I can write some freaky NSFW stuff. Too freaky, and I might dip. Otherwise, it any NSFW will come at an extra charge.
I can write original content, but it will be twice the price due to the fact that I have no prior information to go off of for world building.
Here are some examples of my work: Phoenix Rising Hogwarts Mystery Surge of the West Avatar the Last Airbender I Am My Monster Steven Universe Flight from Vere Captive Prince

Can we make a list of single-player alternatives to live service or gacha games for people who want to stop playing such games?
Can we make a list of single-player alternatives to live service or gacha games for people who want to stop playing such games? About 10 years ago, I finally stopped playing Dota 2 after realizing that I have wasted so much time playing it, while not even enjoying it as much as I would have wanted to.The reason for this is common across many multiplayer games. It would be enough for one person who can't play a game unless they are 100% winning, and would throw a tantrum at the slightest thing not going their way.And after that round ends, you're left with this sense of dissatisfaction simply because you couldn't play the game as it was intended. The reason why I managed to stop playing Dota easily was because I started playing single player games that would never be ruined by some else's mood. These days, we have even worse offender in draining the joy out of a game, and those are live service/gacha games. Since those games are always designed with monetization as its main goal, it's actually the game itself that will ruin your fun. But since they use a lot of psychological tricks, it's easy for those games to make you not realize that you're not enjoying it as much as you would like to.So can we propose alternatives to such games? If you know a good alternative, mention which game it would be an alternative for, and what elements it covers. If you play some live service/gacha game and are looking for an alternative, write the name of the game, and what parts of it you want included in the single-player game. hi!! this is a different anon than the one who sent smt abt tdhea but i read thru that post and everything you said and i just want to say how it’s SO COOL how the strawberry sunday universe and characters sort of unfold parts of the story by themselves as part of ur writing process. like i genuinely think that’s the coolest thing ever (coming from someone who used to write a ton and had to trudge thru awkward scenes and horrible writer’s block and … procrastination…..)
i’m loving all the details you include with every neo u mention and would love to hear you go more in depth with the characterisation choices u make
also!!! very excited for pupsick 2 coming out tomorrow !!
lots of love💞💞
i definitely still have those awkward scenes that i just trudge thru (currently writing one for changer rn) and start and stop and write like two words and stop in the middle of a sentence and come back and write two more sentences and then stop again and it just takes me forever because i just for the life of me cannot do it for some reason. that absolutely happens to me, you're not alone.
lots of love back 💕💕 and also v excited for pupsick 2 as well!!
since u asked, i'll talk abt the character choices i picked for the neos a bit more (under the cut bc it's.....long)
127
taeil + doyoung: the witches! i picked witches for them because in my lore, witches are connected to nature and all that like dryads/fairies but they still have that mysticality to them while maintaining a bit of a folksiness to them with their herbs and teas and stuff, which i thought was just very endearing. i made them have slightly different specialties despite being in the same coven to reflect different aspects of their personalities. taeil is a lot more grounded and in tune with himself internally, so he does a lot of rituals and spellwork with innate power that get built upon with all of his ritual tattoos (and i feel like we don't see a lot of tattooed taeil in fics. which is a shame, bc as soon as the image of taeil tattooed from neck to ankle popped into my head i was hooked. that's rlly hot.) ; meanwhile, doyoung's character is a lot more snappy and sharp-tongued (inspired by how irl dotae and doten bicker), and prefers magic with words like hexes, jinxes, and curses. since these tend to be quick, minor bursts of magic, he doesn't need this big store of internal magic like taeil does for his rituals, he can just draw it in quickly from crystals or metals that naturally have magic, so he wears a lot more jewelry and the like
taeyong: our irl yonggie is just such a good leader and such an empathetic, sweet person who really does everything he can to make his members feel more at home. around the time i was writing strawbsunday, for some reason i was going back through my taeyong tag and there were a couple gifsets of him that rlly stuck with me. one was of him saying he was learning chinese to make the chinese members feel more welcome and be able to communicate with them more comfortably, and another gifset of him and shotaro in the waiting room of a music show during maw promotions, and tyong was helping taro read a soda bottle that was in korean. tyong read it in korean first, then explained the flavor in japanese so taro would understand it better. and idk, i rlly want to emphasize that part of taeyong in strawbsunday, so i made him a unicorn, a creature known for either having/finding/believing in a pure heart!
yuta: he's sexy. yeah, remember how i said some were more thought out than others? this is one of the less thought out ones lmao. sirens are enchantresses, luring sailors to their deaths with their call. modern interpretations take that to a more........seductive place, and i fully, wholeheartedly agree with my own sirens, and yuta was my blueprint lol. i was envisioning punch yuta specifically. the hair, the tattoos (his butterfly tattoo, the iconography, the placement, never has a man had a sexier tattoo im sorry)
jaehyun: i was 100% thinking about that tweet that was made around 'favorite' era that was like 'give me your vampire nct 127 opinions go' and someone said 'jaehyun would be like "how did you know i was a vampire?" while being the weirdest fucking dude in the room' and i was just like "yep that's going to my vampire jaehyun character." i also love the idea of like a brand new vampire. not a fledgeling vmapire, but one that was turned less than ten years ago. I feel like we usually either get fledgelings or vamps that are hundreds of years old and act like it, so i rlly wanted to see a vampire that like, wasn't old enough to rlly have the immortality part affect them yet. and i made him weird bc jaehyun's weird. (i specifically have a tag for my weird!jaehyun posts here)
mark: mark was like one of the very last of the ilichils to get assigned, and at this point i had fairy, dryad, witch, vampire, siren, and unicorn and i was like "hm, i think that's enough creatures? six? what else could i even use?" but i had already doubled up w the two witches (and two humans technically w [strawbsunday] reader/johnny) and nothing i had so far with those six kinds really felt like it fit with how i was kind of imaging mark and how he was going to fit in with the group. so i literally was googling like lists of mythical creatures and stuff, and was trying to fit what i saw to irl mark, to my character mark, and to my world i was building, to see if it would all fit. and i ended up going with basilisk! and i decided there would be a little C plot of my precious loserboy basilisk markie figuring out his powers and accidentally petrifying his poor human roommate johnny
johnny, hyuck, and jungwoo were all already talked about here!
wayv
so like i've already said, when i went to assign creatures to the ilichils, i went ahead and backlogged every neo just in case i needed a random background charcter, i could essentially pull a neo out of a hat and have one ready to go instead of needing to come up with one on the spot. the weishens were done next, and i very quickly realized i was going to need more than seven types of things (including humans)
kun: while i liked my newbie vamp jaehyun being a weirdo, i do still like the idea of an old, elegant vampire, but one who uses that experience to have an optimistic, fresh take on life instead of being all nihilistic about it. irl kun has all these sexy skills and hobbies outside of just being an idol (producing, flying, skydiving, photography, at least one bachelor's degree to my recollection probably more, etc.) and i think if he really were to live forever, why wouldn't he use that as an opportunity to just do everything, and experience all the new things that are being invented all the time and learn more stuff and continuously go back to school? so kun was just the perfect template for that sort of vampire character
ten: ...........he's sexy. IM SORRY i swear i didn't just toss every sexy neo into the siren category or else there would be a lot more sirens here. i chose neos that were sexy, knew they were sexy, and i thought would probably enjoy luring men to their deaths with their sexiness if given the opportunity. ALSO i made him an art major bc i loveeee irl ten's drawings and art and tattoos
sicheng: again, i really expanded the strawbsunday universe of magical creatures out with the weishens. i've also been rewatching supernatural and it was around here that i was at the episode where dean goes back in time and kills a phoenix, and they opted to make that character a person instead of a literal bird. so that was kind of inspo for sicheng's phoenix character (except i still made him very birdlike, the phoenix on supernatural didn't have any bird qualities whatsoever)
dejun: it is a coincidence that dejun is a dragon and his emoji is a dragon. i swear. this was one of those where i was like hm...that sounds good and then the more i thought about it the more i liked it. no exceptionally deep thought here. i regret not mentioning any sort of gold jewelry or the like on dejun in rid like i did on jisung in tdhea, but alas. smth to remember when/if he pops back up in future fics. we'll just pretend it's always been there tucked under his shirt or something
hendery: i had already thought about using gryphons in strawbsunday with johnny (was flipflopping on gryphon or human with him for a while and ended up on human, obvs) so it just seemed natural to make someone else a gryphon later on. gryphons are part eagle, part lion, and while i know i usually focus on the eagle parts of my gryphon, i do think both of them are important! they're both seen as very noble creatures, with lions protecting their pride fiercely. and i feel like i very much kept those attributes in with kunhang. you might not have seen it yet, but underneath the banter and everything, kunhang is fiercely loyal to his friends, and has a strong sense of right and wrong. it might not line up with everybody else's idea of right and wrong, but he's not wishy washy with it
yangyang: i already had an idea for a love potion debacle with witch DOYOUNG that hinged on a conversation that went something like “Are you telling me I just drank a fucking potion?”/“Botanical blend!”/“Why would you put a potion in a fucking Gatorade bottle?”/“Botanical blend!” but as i thought abt it more i was like omg no that's so yangyang coded and i sort of imagined witch yy who almost pictures himself like a mad scientist in that he specializes in potions and such and is always experimenting with new crazy stuff
dream
jeno: werewolf jeno was just like too perfect. like, he couldn't be anything else. has werewolf jeno been written thousands of times? yes. has big puppy werewolf jeno been written at least hundreds of times? yes. and its good every single time. i am not immune to puppy jeno. you are not immune to puppy jeno.
jisung: irl jisung is one of the few neos whose mbti type is an i, if im remembering correctly? he's at least an intp, i do know that. and irl, while he def gets along w everyone, you can tell that he and chenle just r besties and have a next level bond (they're so close and r close enough in age, chenle lets jisung call him casually instead of using honorifics despite being born in different years). irl jisung also isn't super big on skinship with members or wtv. so like with a lot of other stuff, i took a few perceived irl personality characteristics, honed in on them, stretched them, and picked a creature whose lore and powers fit that personality i assigned my jisung character. and dragon fit him best! usually a solitary creature, but for some reason he's taken a liking to this one fairy, and generally tolerates all these other friends that the fairy has
mark already talked abt above; jaemin, chenle, hyuck, and renjun already talked about here!
sungtaro
shotaro: now i know what you're thinking. but i think shotaro has a different brand of siren sexiness to bring to the table. kinda like how chenle and jungwoo r mischievous in different ways despite both being fairies, not all my sirens r sexy and alluring in the same exact way. yknow? bc shotaro just has that adorable little cherub baby yoda roo from winnie the pooh face too. so he's kind of all innocent and cute and lures you in that way, but then switches it up out of nowhere. duality, as the kids say
sungchan: this one was self-indulgent lol. he's one of my biases and i think werewolf sungchan is a very delicious concept. also i thought it would b hilarious to write in my notes "D plot that werewolf jeno LOVES peanut butter. sungchan swears this is just a jeno thing and NOT a werewolf thing. nobody believes him." i still think that's really fucking funny
and one more thing that i do kinda wanna touch on that's tangential to this? the ratio of characters/creatures that we see in here is supposed to be fairly representative to the actual population percentages of these species. like, i do imagine that humans, witches, and werewolves are all roughly equivalent in population; then it's fairies, sirens, and dryads are all about the same, but less than the first three; then vampires, gryphons, and basilisks; and dragons, sphinxes, unicorns, and phoenixes are all extremely rare. or, at least populations are generally academically unknown due to many staying out of integrated society. and wyverns...........well, that would be a spoiler.

nova to say i love your writing would be an understatement. i’ve literally put all of my friends onto your nct frat series and we all collectively agree your writing is amazing. i’m johnny biased and i absolutely love his chapter in the frat series. idk if i’m reaching but in the yujae fic you never explicitly mention if johnny is still with his girlfriend (haechan and mark are still with the respective y/n of their chapters) AND I HAVE NOT KNOW PEACE SINCE I REALIZED THAT. pls nova is johnny still with y/n from his chapter? will we ever get a sequel to the johnny chapter? ANYWAYYYY LOVE YOU AND YOUR WORK KEEP KILLING IT<3
oh my gosh i love you what the heck-
JOHNNY BIASED! SO YOU GOT THE MVP- THE MAN WHO STARTED IT ALL! THE FIRST TASTE OF FRAT CRACK KSJAKJASK
ooof- yeah ur right, i tried to keep mentions from other fics in the au to a minimum, as i'd like people to be able to read each fic without HAVING to have read the whole series you know?
I needed hyuck's girlfriend for the clothing- and i just did a check, and maybe im crazy, but i don't think i actually mentioned Mark's girlfriend did i?????
ooof regardless, YEAH! She's still with John! I generally don't write sequels- this Jae one only happened because I knew Yuta had to end up with his bestie and there was an incomplete storyline there, but Johnny's was nice and tied up i believe :) a cute pairing- definitely still together :)
low key, tempted to write the frat Kun sooner rather than later-
and then maybe i could do like a 'frat reunion' bonus chapter where i give each of their girlfriends an actual name and have them interact at a party or something- could be a fun lil crack time KASKAJASKJ
or.... because im a hoe, i might be tempted to possibly write a Doyoung (or Taeyong... or DoTae cuz im a hoe) fic set after Home - cuz uni doyoung is nOT getting a girlfriend aksjkajkas)- we could have floral shop Doyoung, and now that he's navigating dating maybe he could go to Yuta for help and force his way into the apartment and be a DICK cuz Yuta did something similar in Home-
lots of options- ooof, but thank you so so so much for this message you're so sweet oh my gosh, sorry it took a while to respond though :)

I have unfettered access to nearly any media/entertainment that I could ever want and yet…
I am too [eh?] to enjoy any of it.
I know I’m not the only one dealing with this. Maybe some of y’all are too. Come wallow with me! Tell me what you haven’t finished watching or reading!
I still haven’t finished watching DoTA: Dragon’s Blood s2, haven’t watched LoGH Die Neue These s3 yet, haven’t haven’t watched gen:LOCK s2 yet, haven’t watched any Gundam since part of Iron Blooded Orphans, haven’t watched Trese yet, haven’t finished Heaven Official’s Blessing yet, haven’t the finished Sasuke yet, haven’t watched Yamato 2205…
I’m still excited to see that there will be new animation on Netflix. I hope I will be out of this funk before they drop.
I have time to watch. I want to say it’s depression, but I think it’s more like burnout from environmental overstimulation and chronic pain that’s making it difficult. Like I can’t sit in my favorite chair/couch/etc for hours on end to binge a show or read a book or comic. I’ve always been a marathon reader/player/watcher/etc. My home environment is too cluttered and overwhelming. Too much going on around me. Yay ADHD + Autism.
I met my big life goal of having good career without commute so that I would have time to enjoy things! It’s great! And yet here I am. I have time to do marathon watch/read/play at least once per week. The rest of my free time needs to be put into fixing up my 100 year old home, social/family obligations, and therapy for pain management (for all the good that does me). Chronic pain and fatigue stole my mid-late 30s from me. I’m now in my early 40s and the fatigue is managed/minimal (finally!), but the pain is still a force of chaos in my life—or—rather the manifestation of chaos.
I’ve been like this since late 2018. My solution for watching while in pain was to get an adjustable floor stand for my iPad Pro and watch shows that way. I was able to watch LoGH DNT that way and several other shows. It was working reasonably well, until the pandemic started.
Since 2020, the room where I was watching has been taken over by my partner for watching their shows and playing video games because their comic collecting habit got out of control and took over their own space (media room) in our basement. They work from home now too, and they finally see what it’s like to be surrounded by stuff all the time so they are purging, but that takes a long time.
My home studio is my work space, and the key to not letting work take over your life when you work from home is to have firm boundaries between living space and work space. So I can’t retreat there, and honestly I’m already in that room for 40 hours a week. I may have to give up and rearrange my studio to add a room divider to make a de-sensory space with comfy lounge.
Why did I write all this? Damn therapy hour this morning. I need a drink and a bar fight.

Do you think it's problematic to openly discuss and write sexual stuff about idols? Especially shipping them can destroy friendships and can make them uncomfortable. And how would you feel if strangers are assuming your preferences and write detailed story's with kinks you might not be comfortable... I think about that often, do you too?
Honestly, if I felt this way about fanfiction, I wouldn’t be writing it. I probably wouldn’t go looking at accounts that post it either.
But I don’t think that it’s like inherently problematic to write what I write. I don’t think shipping is inherently a problem either unless there’s people who take it very seriously and make a big deal out of every tiny thing so that it can only mean that the two people they ship are certainly romantically and sexually intertwined. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with lighthearted shipping, like I ship dotae because Doyoung and Taeyong have a friendship that I think is an fantastic and wonderful thing that they display in front of the cameras. Then you have like, Yuta, for example, who ships himself openly with Mark and with WinWin also. Though I believe that he’s just probably really comfortable, which is why that doesn’t bother him too much, though yes if suddenly a large portion of NCTzens were insisting, for example, that he and Mark or WinWin were 100% in a real actual relationship and refused to see the light of it actually being him joking most of the time, then yes, that would be a problem. There are different types of shippers, different levels of craziness involved in it, and I think that has to be taken into consideration.
I was going to type out this long explanation defending writing fanfiction/smut, but about halfway through thinking about it, I decided I’d wasted enough time and didn’t really feel like answering anymore. I think that if you can’t tell the difference between fanfiction and reality, then that’s something that you need to work through on your own time.
#asks#i'm sorry if this comes off as rude#and i'm sorry if you meant this as a genuine question and not as a pointed jab at what I do here#but im not going to let an anonymous person make me feel bad about writing fiction#if I changed their names to ones I made up it would be fine probably right#but it's just the fact that these characters I write about are based on real people and i use their real names that you have a problem with#but these people and scenarios are entirely made up fictional characters and events

DRPGs: function over form
I have an odd affection for DRPGs, or “Dungeon-crawling Role-Playing Games,” which are sometimes referred to as “Wizardly clones” in the same way that early FPS games were called “Doom Clones.”
Legend of Grimrock is an indie game that I’ve found is closest to actually emulating the feel of the original Wizardry games from an aesthetic perspective while updating them for modern graphics; most of the examples from recent history are Japanese and feature anime-style character designs, with Etrian Odyssey being perhaps the best-known (and best-selling).
I describe my affection for DRPGs as “odd,” because few other games have the ability to thoroughly captivate me for the time I’m playing, only for me to completely forget everything about them when I’m done playing them.
For example, I recently noticed that Demon Gaze 2 was on sale for 75% off in the Playstation store. I’m keen to try it out, since I enjoyed the first Demon Gaze game so much that I took the time to 100% (I earned the “platinum trophy” so that anyone on my Playstation Network friends list can see the evidence of my achievement). This is a task that reportedly takes around 50 hours. I say “reportedly” because it’s based on other people’s reports of how long it took for them to “platinum” the game; I can’t really recall from memory how much time I spent playing that game, or really anything else about it for that matter.
I cannot express how weird it is for me to not have a memory of have any specific memories of playing a video game, especially one that I spent that amount of time playing. I can still vividly remember a specific game of Dota 2 that I played over half a decade ago. I could talk for paragraphs about an indie puzzle game that I played for 2 hours in 2012. You could ask me to talk about any of the N64 games I played as a middle schooler and I could probably recall many specific memories from the time I spent with those games.
And yet, when it comes to Demon Gaze, I remember nothing. Not the characters, not the plot, not any of the specific milieus or setpieces. And, truthfully, it’s probably because caring about any of these things is never really something that the game asked of me in the first place. I earnestly tried to remember anything I could about Demon Gaze, and here is a full, comprehensive list of what I came up with:
There’s an NPC whose character trait is that she’s always sleepy. I think she lived in the basement of...something. I think your “home base” was an inn, and she lived in the inn’s basement, and you would sometimes have to talk to her to do certain things or something.
One of the levels had plants and was mostly green. Maybe multiple levels, actually. I want to assume this meant there was a hedge maze, but I’m not actually remembering a hedge maze; I’m just assuming that a dungeon-crawling game plus a green area must mean there was a hedge maze.
One of the levels involved climbing a tall tower, or maybe descending into a deep pit. There was definitely verticality involved, and the map was cylindrical.
I think the main character used swords. But maybe they didn’t. I’m pretty sure that you could dual-wield at a certain point in the game. (I think part of what made the main character so strong was the fact that they could equip an artifact that let them dual-wield?)
That is truthfully and honestly the full extent of what I remembered about the game before I started writing this post and digging up screenshots which reminded me of the main character’s heterochromia. When grabbing screenshots for this post, I found one that showed a character’s class as being “Paladin,” and my reaction was not, “Oh yeah, Paladin was totally a character class in this game,” but “Oh yeah, Paladin totally sounds like a character class that could plausibly be in this game.”
Normally, I’d have memories of specific boss battles, or setpieces, or characters, or story moments. But in place of those, I have memories of looking at Google Sheets that people had made to list all of the items that dropped from certain areas, and ranked them to let you know which items were the best. I could more vividly tell you the decor of the room I was in when I unlocked the platinum trophy than the final boss I beat (or item I obtained) to unlock it. (Being a game for a portable system like the Vita, I actually have memories of many locations and “setpieces” associated with that game; just not locations in the game.)
DRPGs are, maybe more than any genre, a game that is experienced through a layer of abstraction, and I think this is best illustrated by the Etrian Odyssey, which lives in the DS family of systems, which are notable for having two screens (as is suggested by the name “Dual Screen”). Here’s a screenshot that shows what the game displays on both screens when you’re dungeon crawling:
On the top screen, you see the environment you’re exploring in all its 3D-rendered detail. On the bottom screen, you have a map of the area you’re navigating, with the arrow in the middle indicating your current position and orientation. And for the vast, vast majority of dungeon crawling, my attention is focused solely on the bottom screen.
This is, I gather, how most people play DRPGs. Etrian Odyssey puts even more of the focus on the bottom screen by forcing you to draw the map as you walk (hence the bevy of icons and paintbrushes it offers you when filling in the grid). If you try to play by looking at the environment, you’ll quickly realize how much of the area is just copy-pasted assets that are difficult to navigate by. The map isn’t just a “guide;” the game feels less like a first-person dungeon crawler and more like game with a top-down POV where your avatar is represented by that arrow on the map. If you watch gameplay videos and only pay attention to the top screen, you’ll be blown away by how fast it seems like people are moving, but it makes a lot more sense when you realize that people are only paying attention to the map: people will see, “okay, I want to walk north 5 tiles, turn 90 degrees left, then walk west 2 tiles,” and then just input that series of actions faster than the walking animation can actually play out on screen.
I’m half convinced that the reason Etrian Odyssey took off more than any other DRPG is that, due to being on the DS, it has an entire screen dedicated to the map, whereas in a game like Demon Gaze, your screen is mostly taken up with what amounts to decorative filler while the part of your brain that’s focused on gameplay has to focus on a mini-map in the corner of the screen:
So, perhaps you can understand how it is that I played this game for 50 hours, yet have no recollection of the scene/location depicted in this screenshot. It’s because close to 100% of my focus was on the mini-map. I experienced most of this game as an abstraction.
There’s a real sense in which DRPG players (I’m talking about myself here) want everything in the game to be an abstraction. The ideal length for a combat animation is “as long as it takes for me to read how much damage the attack did, so please just advance the battle as fast as I’m pressing the X button.”
Video games are inherently abstractions of real things, like the way that adding the pyramids to my build queue in Civilization V is an abstraction of what it’s actually like to build the pyramids in ancient Egypt, or left clicking in Counter-Strike is an abstraction of what it’s like to fire a gun, but they usually try to call back to the things that they’re abstractions of. Civilization gives you an inspiring quote from some historian describing the pyramids, and Counter-Strike tries to have animations and sounds that somewhat reflect the behavior of real guns. But in DRPGs, I don’t want the combat to be the simulation of my character swinging a sword on an enemy. All I care about is watching the numbers flash on screen, and the reward isn’t “you’ve triumphed over this vile forest-dwelling enemy,” it’s “the number on your exp meter went up.”
While games like World of Warcraft eventually become like this for a lot of people (a game with a hundred buttons that is all about managing cooldowns), you at least start from a place of walking your avatar around the world and performing actions that make your wizard look as though you’re casting a spell. But most DRPGs start from the position of “all you care about is the numbers, right?” The game is an abstraction unto itself. It is a game that is made for people who like looking at spreadsheets (and I most definitely spent a decent chunk of time looking at spreadsheets).
Maybe that’s why they can get away with having character designs often clash with the art style of the environment and enemies, and sometimes with the art style of other party members. Several of the character portraits in the above screenshot seem like they were drawn by different people, and there are some moments that, when you look at them in a screenshot gallery, make you think that the characters just don’t belong in the world they’re inhabiting. And while the game is sometimes visually non-cohesive in a way that becomes really obvious if you pay attention, the truth is that when you’re actually playing the game, you’re not really paying attention to all that.
For another example of this, I like to turn to Stranger of Sword City, which has a really cool aesthetic that hits you from the moment you pick up the box (or look at the title screen):
The original release of the game, on Xbox 360, was remarkably consistent with this specific style. But the Playstation Vita version of the game (which was later ported to PC) gives you an updated character creator and your options include, well, a variety of options drawn in a variety of different styles.
I just looked at the screenshots on the Steam store page for the Stranger of Sword City and, well:
Yes, that is a Prinny in the bottom left corner. Yes, Nippon Ichi did publish this game, why do you ask?
I think one of the reasons I don’t tremendously mind the aesthetic choice (or is it a lack of choice?) in a lot of DRPGs like this to randomly have anime-style characters (even when they might be dissonant with the rest of what’s on screen) that I don’t necessarily need my paladin’s look to really communicate that they’re a holy warrior or whatever; I really just want them to be eye candy that I can appreciate in the moments when I’m distracted from the numbers. But in the end, it doesn’t actually matter that much, because, well...
DRPGs feel like they are all about function over form. (The “looking at the mini-map and not the 3D environment” is a microcosm of a playstyle that’s encouraged by a design philosophy that seems to apply to nearly everything in a “good” DRPG.) This puts them in stark contrast to, say, Persona, which involves a ton of dungeon crawling, but relies heavily on the style (which includes the battle music, the stylish combat animations, and the quips that your characters make in battle) to make that part of the game interesting.
When you down all of the enemies in Persona, part of the “reward” for that comes from getting to deal a bunch of damage to all of the enemies, but a huge part of the reward also comes from the feeling of visceral pleasure that comes in the moment when Akihiko senpai says “I’ve been waiting for this!” and you smile and agree and say, “Me too, Aki. Now give me that shot that’s so iconic it became a meme template.”
I probably would not have made it through dozens of hours of crawling through Tartarus in Persona 3 if Mass Destruction weren’t such a banger of a battle theme. But I spent just as much (if not more) time dungeon crawling in Demon Gaze despite not having Lotus Juice’s rap verses soothing my ears during those battles, which I guess maybe stands as a testament to how good Demon Gaze was at making the game fun?
Ultimately, the abstraction that every RPG leveling system gets toward is “your character gets stronger.” Maybe DRPGs are better than any other genre at removing any abstractions that would serve as a barrier between you and that goal. And the best DRPGs also give you formidable challenges that give you ample reason to want to become stronger: games like Etrian Odyssey are notorious for their difficulty. I feel the difficulty is a bit overhyped; much like my feelings on Dark Souls, Etrian Odyssey only really feels “hard” when compared with other games where the player is never put plausibly close to a failure state whereas Dark Souls and EO actually punish the player for making mistakes, and EO also has the “X-factor” of having enough variance (due to things like random crits) that you actually do want to give yourself a decent margin for error. Which is to say, EO is one of the RPGs where you actually care a lot about having a team that’s strong enough to kill a boss in 8 turns instead of 10 turns, since that’s 20% fewer chances for an unfortunate event to send you back to home base. Powering up your team in EO feels important and significant way more than it does in a lot of other JRPGs.
There is a very real sense in which the entire point of the obligatory spreadsheet companion is to aid you in your quest to become the strongest you can be by breaking the game somehow. The thing I do remember about Demon Gaze (not concretely, but in the abstract) was that there were some item/class combinations that were wildly better than the alternatives. Some might deride this as poor balance, but in my eyes, “breaking” a game in that way is really more akin to “solving” it, in the same way that one might “solve” a puzzle. I did it: I found right combination of skills and items to trivialize the game’s difficulty! Huzzah! In a “well-balanced” game where all items and classes were all carefully tuned to be equally viable, such a thing would not be possible. Thus, what others might consider “poor balance” in some DRPGs is actually an essential and core part of what compels me to spend time with those games.
I feel like these factors and more make DRPGs somewhat unique in a way that probably contributes to them reviewing poorly. For example, if you look among discussions on DRPG forums about recommended games, there seems to be universal consensus that Stranger of Sword City is a great game (with many praising it as the best DRPG they’ve ever played), but on OpenCritic, only 45% of critics recommend it, and I think all of this is perfectly encapsulated by a 6/10 review from TheSixthAxis:
Stranger of Sword City excels at one thing, and really flounders at the others. It’s a rewarding experience if you’re a fan of challenging RPGs and gameplay depth. If you’re a fan of well-written dialogue, engaging music or proper difficulty curves though…well….there are a lot of other video games out there that may suit you better.
And that’s the kind of thing that makes me want to locate a guide, crack open a spreadsheet, and start a new save file.
Anyway, the Stranger of Sword City is on sale for 80% on Steam right now. That’s $4, for a game that I paid $40 for when it first came out on Vita! I’m tempted to buy it again, just for the convenience of being able to play it on my monitor without having to dig around to locate my old Vita TV.

""doyoungie is pretty"" !!!
Tae commented again on dy's ig post....it is really amazing that tae does it...Ty really look after what do does and adores him....its not like other neos dont like him...just that he openly Express it and it is something that I respect...everyon likes and adores evryone..but atleast sometimes you need to express it through words to encourage them...make them feel secured....anyway I like their small interaction....their friendship should last for 100 years....
Johnny also openly expresses his fondness on IG. Others flirt replying to Do's comments. Haechan always mentions Doyoung-ie-hyung during Dream events. The number of times Jaehyun complimented Doyoung's looks during DJJ debut...
Taeyong is one of the neos who is very active on social media. He looks for fanart, mash-ups, leaves comments on IG, he did 3 hour long vlives in the past, played video games with his fans. He is open and expressive, he writes his songs about his own struggles and experiences. Therefore, it is not surprising he shows his friendship with Doyoung so openly, he wants to cement it, to be the number one friend in everyone's eyes, he likes it when other neos comment on DoTae as besties or that they need to marry already.
Doyoung tends to doubt himself, so his friends support him with words of encouragement and "you can do it". Remember that "Do (to do) -young" Jae and Hyuk liked to use? Taeyong always praises Do's parts in NCT songs, encourages him to write lyrics, asks to practice dancing with him, do a song for soundcloud, etc.
One of my favourite moments was when Do bought a cake for Tae's BD with a tiara and placed it on Tae's head right away. 2:04-4:28-6:08-7:21. Do both behaved like the cake was not a big deal and, at the same time, wanted to hear comments on it, Tae ate it right away and made a show of it being delicious despite having another rose-shaped cake (was it from his mother?)

I will write smut; however, there are certain things I will not write about:
BDSM
Daddy Kink
Pedophilia
Incest
Romaticization of violence
Rape / Non-Con / Dubious Consent
Any other details are subject to discussion. I reserve the right to reject your request in case something about it makes me feel uncomfortable.
How to order:
Contact me via DM. Choose the type of work (regular or reader-insert), name an approximate word count and try to describe precisely what you want to see in your story. You have to pay 50% in advance.
It may be difficult to define the word count so focus on how many details you want to have in the work. A 2000-2500 word fanfic will sure tell more than a 500 word one; it’s like the difference between a complete piece of fanart and a sketch.
NB! If you have named one word count (say, 500 words), and my work has exceeded it, I will not make you pay more for this.
If you commission a list of headcanons, you need to name a character and a topic for ideas. You have to pay 100% in advance. The number of headcanons is always about 15.
Methods of payment:

So, given that Fyodor and the Hunting Dogs are more-or-less being the closest, most imminent threat in BSD, does that leave Agatha as the Final Boss? So far, Fyodor's plans have only exempt her organization, wherein every other group is manipulated to some level.
Hello! Sorry for the late reply, I'm very happy for your ask 😁 I warn you, though, I'm not capable of writing a short reply to save my life ahahah. But, as they say in my country "Warned person half saved person"
So, ready to go.
Well, it is a complex situation. Now, the agency's problems seem to be Dostoevskij (and so, the group DotA) and the Government's military of the Hunting Dogs (whose utility I've still many doubts about). But the latter's actions almost certainly are manipulated by Dostoevskij, even if they probably don't know it. They did create problems in Sigma's casino to capture Atsushi and the others, after all, although Sigma is a member of the Decay of the Angels like Fyodor and Gogol. Gogol who recently infiltrated as a spy in the Government's ministry of justice for six months before he revealed himself and did... well, whatever it was the sense of what he did. And absolutely a coincidence, what is the military organization working for the ministry of justice?
Correct, the Hunting Dogs.
So, they are really convinced that capture our protagonists is a just service to the state, but they're playing Fyodor's game. But only his game?
What's the situation? Well, the players on the chessboard are the Agency & the Port Mafia vs the Decay of the Angels. In the middle, there is the ex Guild and Oguri allied with the first party and the Hunting Dogs maneuvered by the latter. And, aside, there is Agatha, who in chapter 12 is seen to be allied with Fitzgerald and Dostoevskij (although their idea of "alliance" is veeery singular, if Fitzgerald's defeat is to say something).
Fitzgerald is betrayed, defeated and definitely out of the alliance, so there remain only Fyodor and Agatha. She seems to not even be present, though. There is really not even a single mention of her in the manga since then, excluding her short appearance in Dead Apple movie, differently from the almost omnipresent Fyodor. Thanks to the movie, we learn that she is in contact with Ango (so Japanese government) who asks for her aid, that of a foreign government association of ability users, to terminate Shibusawa, former ability user protected by Ango himself and then, coincidence, manipulated by Dostoevskij. Situation she was surely well informed about when she accepted (I bet my head) and disappointed when her slightly extreme solution wasn't needed anymore. A solution that could have burned the entire Yokohama to the ground (and maybe even Fyodor himself who was there, too). They were already allied at that point? Yes.
Anyway, wonders of friendship aside, this disappearance is like if Agatha didn't want anyone to know her involvement in the war, maybe in order to have both the alliance with Japanese government and with Fyodor's group to exploit as she sees better fit in the moment. But both Fitzgerald, Mori and Dazai, we absolutely know it, they are aware of her. Anyone else? Idk, sorry, probably not. So...
Will she return? Absolutely
Will she be the final boss? Not sure, probably, but it doesn't convince me.
Not like she's not credible enough to be one, nay, she would be a wonderful final boss to face, but I think it would be too simple this way, too linear for my taste, at least. Why?
As you said, the only organization Fyodor, the current villain, didn't mess with is hers, The Knights of the Clock Tower. And technically, they are still allied, at least for what we know. Both are in search of the Book, "a single novel where everything written becomes the truth". Dostoevskij to exterminate the ability users from earth's face and Agatha ... Boh, nobody knows. By the way, until now, the enemies are come in a linear order: Port Mafia -> Guild -> Dostoevskij (+ Oguri, then Decay of the Angels and Hunting Dogs). Defeated one, another comes (and the defeated one becomes an ally for the protagonists). This scheme has almost no exception until now. And it's boring. We are currently blocked in the last stage of the sequence. So, the problem is still them: Fyodor and Agatha. And this damned book.
To obtain it, we know that are needed: the death of every ability users in Yokohama, Dazai in a way or another, Atsushi's ability. Dazai and Natsume sensei are the ones that know the Book most than the anyone else, probably even its location. Fyodor has done many attempts to obtain it (Shibusawa, the fall of the Guild's aircraft, Pushkin's poisonous ability and the assassin Hawthorne, Oguri's crimes-proof masking ability, Gogol in the Government and finally the Hunting Dogs). To say that he's obsessed with it would be an understatement. But for a so mind-set man, he seems not to care when his attempts are inevitably neutralized. He seems to be even fine with it, as long as he finds it entertaining. He even indirectly gave Dazai the key to his own "failure" in some occasions. And then, he was always like "beh, it was amusing, now we can get to the next step". It is an incoherent behavior for a man regarded as the epitome of logic by both Dazai and Ranpo (and it is surely to say something). We could understand it if we ask if they can really be called failures. And if he's really working for himself.
He's presented to us as a really unbeatable enemy since the beginning. Always. Even Dazai and Ranpo, even Natsume, even Fitzgerald admit that his strategies cannot possibly be defeated or avoided. And indeed he is a step ahead of the others. But for all his capacity, he's behaving like he has all the time in the world to fulfill his goal, not really caring about 1 or 100 failed plans; he knows Dazai and Atsushi are necessary for the Book? Intentionally not kills the former (his nemesis and the main threatening enemy he has) and never makes a serious effort to obtain Atsushi's ability (Shibusawa failed and Gogol only played with him, maybe the Hunting Dogs alone are seriously trying). Then, there is the Decay group. We know that it consists of 5 members (Dostoevskij, Gogol and Sigma, plus the others unfortunately still unknown, that damn lazy mangaka) and one of them has recently obtained a page of the Book. A page which works well as the entire novel, according to the half dead Taneda. So, how and when the fuck do they intend to use it? If my memory doesn't fail me, the use of the page has something to do with the (quite horrible) death of Gogol, but I'm not sure. And who is this mysterious page possessor? It's not Fyodor, that's sure, for he was already put in chains in Meursault prison by then and later he never even mentioned it; Gogol is dead, so he can't be, can he?; Sigma is not very known yet, but he seems too kind and with an air of "wtf is happening now?" for having taken it (but obviously for all we know, it could perfectly have been him). One of the remaining members? Probably. Agatha herself? It would be too soon, I think.
And we're forgetting that Fyodor is a member of the Decay, not the leader. In fact, when in prison, before getting excited like a kid for having descovered his new cell partner, Dostoevskij makes this comment:
They requested him to form a plan, not he planned something and ordered them to execute it. He doesn't seem to be the boss there. He received an order, and he executed it, while probably creating a fault in the plan just to make things more interesting to him. A fault that he surely expects some people to notice. A not perfect plan is still a challenge, isn't it? It'd explain why he can fulfill his goal but seems to having more fun when losing. He knows he can win (the modest bastard), but purposely lets his goal be delayed. And although he has had many occasions to do so (damn, his same touch can kill) he repeatedly avoided to kill his enemies, maybe because doing so would mean to eliminate the only players who can hope to beat him. Him, or a third party. He openly went to the battlefield, attracted everyone's attention to himself for 30 chapters, seems to be the cause of many events in the series, but this behavior could also be a way to lead the protagonists to beat someone else, trough him. A bait. He is quite devilish, after all. And certainly not new to all the ally-exploit-betray strategy, quite the same as Agatha, I bet.
So, he works with the Decay, but the Decay group works alone or for someone? And who are the ones that requested this plan of his, which, I suppose, consists of every manga panel since chapter 42?
Can they work with Agatha, too? Or for her? Both Dostoevskij and Agatha have every interest to get in the way of each other. Could he work with Agatha and, at the same time, lead Dazai (or whoever else) to foul Agatha's plan? A similar way of thinking could be being unraveled now in Agatha's favor: she probably worked with Fyodor on the plan of his own capture, and the prison of Meursault is indeed described as a top secret prison in Europe, whose existence is known only to the highest members of European government. To Fyodor, a way of hiding himself like a proper puppeteer, to Agatha a way of constantly putting a very unstable ally under her most total supervision. So, given that for both the idea of loyalty is fried air, could his plan be a sort of second "mutual destruction" to make his enemies neutralize each other and then, calmly get what he wants? Dazai himself said that he has not the material means to bring his plan to completion. Means that the guild and Agatha do have (so, the alliance).
Sadly, we have still too little information about Agatha and the Decay to be remotely sure of anything. However, I think the reason why her organization is the only exception in the trouble he caused is because they are still formally allied.
When I said that I don't see Agatha as the final boss is because it would be a really too linear sequence of enemies, it would be fun if there were some surprise in the end. But, if she were really the final boss (and there are some probabilities of it happening), I would like it the same. She would be a serious badass boss and her organization members ... Wow! I'm counting the chapters until they join the battlefield since ch. 12! Still, I'm sure it's only a matter of (veeery long) time for their arrival, but I'm not sure if they will be the final boss. Even if they could. Anyway, we still don't know anything about her, her plans or moves. Not theirs. Nothing can be said for sure. Sorry anon 😅
And then, there is also the matter of that strange group of ability users presented in the novels (that I did not read, so I could say idiocies). Rimbaud, Verlaine, perhaps even Hugo, Goethe etc... For what we know, it can also be theirs the role of final boss. Or someone else's entirely. The final boss could be a known character, or someone not appeared yet. Or Agatha. Or whoever you please. Unfortunately, we are all in the reign of imagination, yet. Even possible for Agatha and Fyodor to be part of that group of ability users, given that they are European like the others. Who knows (I'm surely not, too lazy to read the novels ahahah).
I hope to not have bored you, anon 😅😂 I really got myself carried away, but I hopefully answered your questions? I really hope so. I would like to know your thoughts on these characters, now 😉 and feel free to ask something else, if you want. Only then I will try to make it shorter ahahah. Thanks for the ask, anyway!

one: a phone call from johnny.
"yes, hyung. well i got out now didn't i. it's fine, this isn't even big news to you, you know me. okay, okay i will. i'll see you later. bye."
doyoung looks at the time after the call. 12:01 it says. 12 hours of detention for what.
"we won't be putting it on records. we just have to appease them is all. you shouldn't have put yourself in that position kid. being smart ain't it all." doyoung hears the police on duty say to him. he knew he saw him as an inconvenience, complete total waste of time, some kind of stain he needs to get rid of fast or else his mother will barge in and do an hour long monologue about her efforts and how it's unappreciated. the feeling was mutual.
"i was in the right. i was just defending myself."
there, a sigh and a shoo-ing action, a little roll of the eyes to say 'we heard you but you should really go.'
"yeah, yeah. you can go now. just don't try to come here again, it doesn't look good on you."
yeah. whatever. doyoung almost says but chooses not to. he's had enough for the next quarter. the year is gonna continue to go on and he can't be wasting it on something dumb twice with only 12 hours in between. he's better than that.
two: what comes after the release is hunger.
the sun is at high noon now and half of his day is wasted. hd hears his stomach growl as he starts walking away from the station, determined to go straight back home where there is ample air circulation and a soft bed to lie on. but again, hunger. his last meal was before they got him and after that, every hour was just water therapy.
"food. i need food." almost as a pinned reminder.
he gets inside the first shop he spots. some shady little shop right across the station with a sign that reads 'bass bot' and 'cold noodles and tofu available here.' none of it matches.
"welcome!" doyoung gets greeted by a male, around his age with a red cap tied around his head. the ones you see in chinese restaurants. it matches his apron tied around his waist. a pretty small one. the waist. and the shop. no one is inside except him and this guy.
"what can i get for you?" the guy asks, holding a small notebook and a pen on the other hand. his eyes are pretty. tantalizing even.
"isn't there a chef's choice? if there is, i'd get that."
the guy laughs a little but most of it ends up with a wide smile. he's pretty, doyoung finally decides after a while. really pretty. some kind of face that you won't expect to see right here with no crowd.
"okay. chef's choice, i'll get to that." the guy turns but stops before he gets back to the kitchen. "and plain tofu right?"
"tofu?" doyoung asks, confused.
the guy nods then points straight ahead from the glass window where he could see the station. "you came from there right? you need to have it."
three: redemption.
it must be the burning humidity or the loud red paint all over the walls of this shop or the uneven and shaky table topped with his hunger, but doyoung is pissed.
"first of all, i'm no prisoner." he starts as soon as the guy gets back. he seems to be the only one manning the shop, doyoung has seen no one else from his time waiting (and going over his points of argument).
"i didn't say you were." the guy says bringing over the bowl of cold noodles in front of him. doyoung's stomach growls from the smell.
"second-"
"second is you should eat." the guy breaks into his little talk and he tries to glare back at him only to be silenced again by his stomach.
"second is it isn't polite to accuse your customer about something like that. where's your manager, bring them over here." he says after grabbing the chopsticks, trying to keep the glare going on and make the guy feel intimidated, take him seriously, know he means business.
"there's no manager."
"what?"
"i'm the only one who works here. did you see or hear anybody around?"
no. but then saying that would mean defeat. he can't lose twice within a single day so he takes it against the noodles.
"well, this better be good 'cause there's no one else to blame if this is bad other than you."
doyoung gets onto the noodles, he takes the egg first, adds mustard and vinegar sauce before mixing it all together. he feels the guy looking over at what he's doing, probably waiting for his reaction. he starts with his first bite and doesn't find himself stopping until he's halfway into his bowl to take some more breaths before continuing.
the guy finally moves away from him, walking towards the kitchen, humming a tune doyoung's sure he's heard but can't name at all. he sounds satisfied.
four: plain tofu.
the guy, who doyoung finds out a little later goes by the name taeyong, came back shortly after he's done with his noodles. his bowl is empty, no drop of soup to be found and the side dishes are cleared, put atop one another in an orderly fashion and ready to be taken away from his table.
"tofu, if you're still hungry." taeyong says as he sets it down in the table after removing the used ones to the other table across where doyoung is. taeyong grabs one of the chairs and sits beside him, crossing his legs as he pushes the plate of tofu towards doyoung. taeyong introduces himself after this.
"so taeyong, out of all you have to offer me, it's this?"
taeyong shrugs but not without a small smile. he points the signage doyoung saw as he came in. "it's all i have here."
he tries to take a small bite. it's tofu, it's soft. nothing much else. uncomparable to the noodles. doyoung doesn't say this outloud.
"why do you even have your shop here?" he asks after two more bites instead. he can't take any more from there.
taeyong turns towards the window again and with a sigh he talks. "people who come from the station are usually hungry and rent is cheap here." he puts it simple like that, taking his turn with the tofu before letting a question out. "you, why are you there for?"
so doyoung tells him just because. it's nothing shameful, it isn't even his fault (not exactly at least) and it's still too hot outside. his house offers a more comfortable place to be at but at least there's a fan here in taeyong's shop and besides, he won't meet with johnny until much later.
"some oldies just won't listen is all. i got heated. they too. i haven't been in a debate ever since i took a gap."
he was taking a gap year from university since the past semester to take time to sort things out including his internship for the supposed next school year. he's done that in about a month ago, now he's just mostly lying in his bed. he could go back to university the following semester but he feels no rush to do anything.
"you're on a gap year?"
"that's what i said."
taeyong stands up and writes something on a piece of paper hidden he got from his apron's pocket. hands it to doyoung after.
"you could work here if you want." he tells him as he sits down again.
"i said i'm in a gap year." he replies.
"so? i've seen you around, you don't do much besides tend to your house plants."
and there should be finger pointing, doyoung screaming about him stalking him and he could bring him to the police right there and then, but doyoung just sighs. must be the heat. must be the weariness coming along now. must be because taeyong's cold noodles are the best he's eaten the entire month. must be because now that he's not 100% hungry, he could remember seeing taeyong back in his apartment complex. almost everyday too.
"at least, i'm keeping them alive."
taeyong stands up and starts clearing the table, putting the dishes in a tray to bring back to the kitchen. doyoung leaves his payment on the table and leaves with the piece of paper in between his fingers, faces the glaring sun on his way back to his apartment.
he could use a job.
five: another phone call from johnny.
"sorry hyung, i can't do today. what? no, no. i just got something up. some part-time job at some place. it's nearby. whatever. i'll see you when i have time. i have stuff to do okay? yeah yeah. bye."

I have a lot of to share and yet nothing. So I’ll just roll the writing and we’ll see where it leads. I am gamer. Gamer girl. Russian gamer girl. I know it can sound weard, but i’ve been through a lot on this path. I’ll try to explain. Noone protects your interest in Russia. You probably know it’s homophobic country, but let’s wide this: we don’t have culture of tolerance at all. Feminism exists, but just as small marginal groups, they have no real power. Noone will respect you just because you’re a whamen. There’s evil and good at this point -- we have to build ourselves, fight through REAL misoginy to get success, and it’s good to know you’re strong enough to do so. On the other side, many smart, but weak girls fated to live by providers side, and have no ambitions. Does any of it make sence? Back to the subject. I played a lot since my childhood, but as far as I can remember it never was hard, competitive games. They weren’t even multiplayer games, just simple singleplayer classics. I don’t honestly remember my first multiplayer game, but i sure remember my first expirience in DOTA 2. It was sweet 2013, and I loved this game so passionate. First I used voice chat a lot, but I realised that if I’m making a mistake the team blames me harder then if I don’t claim that i’m a girl at any way. So I just picked gender-neutral nickname and stopped using voice chat. Let’s clear this: I’m not good at games. I’m okay at games. Sometimes I can show good reaction and skill and sometimes I can bump AF. So what you can say, there’s a lot of games where you don’t need any skill to play, you can just have fun. I thought that too, but then Dark Souls came in my life. It took me 100 hours to beat DS 2 for the first time. Pathetic you say, caution I reply. Secont walkthrough took 30 hours, third only 15. And I started to realise, that it’s all about expirience. Yeh I don’t have some people reaction, but I can fucking learn untill I won’t need it. Why is it so important not to be bad in videogames? Because we all have to choose a field of personal realisation, and as future (hopefully) game designer it’s not that strange that somehow I choose this one. I hope one day I will confident enough not to be ashamed of playing bad, I hope one day people will come to my twitch streams for gameplay, not for “just chatting“, as they always do. I hope one day I’ll be able to create a game, that will take boys and girls minds. Does any of it makes any sence? Donnow, but it was nice to write about it, even though I can’t express everything I feel. Thanks for reading, I guess
