Dungeon Meshi Liveblog: In Which Chilchuck Begrudgingly Has Feelings for his Coworkers, and Kabru Has...Something. He Sure Has Something Going On Over There.
Before we continue, I feel I should clarify 2 things:
I've been trying, ish, to avoid spoilers for this comic, but I've watched through the Golden Country episode and more importantly I'm so bad at not reading spoiler-y but interesting- and insightful-looking analysis. So, much of this commentary isn't wholly original and any particularly genius theories of future events are likely made with actual foreknowledge.
When I said on the first post that I was starting the comic because "I need to know what happens", what I specifically meant was "I need to know how the Laios-Kabru dynamic ends up, and the general geopolitical situation, so I can accurately daydream what sort of tariffs they'll set in the kingdom of which Laios is definitely not going to be the one managing the political, economic, or social minutia." Tariffs are going to be important, okay. They're a key way a nation-state interacts with other nation-states, especially one with rare materials to trade, powerful neighbors who want them, and the natural barrier of an ocean. Truly, every fantasy series ever should be required to have an epilogue or many an additional book/season/etc of a The West Wing-style depiction of day-to-day governance of whatever resulted from the story's climactic finale.
Okay, back to the liveblog.
.
Inch resting. The manga characters, having met the Mad Mage, keep using she/her pronouns for them, where in the anime they used he/him. I assume one of these is just, like, wrong - some translation choice was made before truth was revealed later in the course of publication?
But it makes SENSE that the characters wouldn't necessarily know, at this point! The Mage's appearance is pretty gender-neutral, especially as an elf, an notably gender-ambiguous race. So the characters in the manga picked one guess and stuck with it, and the characters is the very slightly alternate timeline of the anime picked another and stuck with that!
Now: having used they/them throughout this musing and previously he/him because a) the show and b) that's what I saw in fandom, I think I'll switch to referring to the Mage with she/her pronouns now. Because A) that's how the thing I'm reading apparently will be doing it, and B) they still call her "Lord of the Dungeon", which is obviously the greatest gender option of all.
...however, the manga does keep saying "lunatic magician" rather than "Mad Mage" (caps mine), which is a TOTAL failing in drama. Always alliterate, preferably archaically.
.
Orc woman: Ugh, this halffoot sucks. I'll tolerate his company only as a favor to the vegetable guy.
Orc woman after listening to Chilchuck complain about his coworkers for an hour: Nvm, this halffoot is a worthy and loyal friend of the vegetable seller, and I guess those other guys too. He's just emotionally constipated about it.
.
Laios just has these soft little fond smiles sometimes and I? want to hug him?
.
MY MAN IS BACK!! Kabru wink count: 1 this chapter, 4 total [updated as I read]
.
Corpse Retriever: If you don't report us for trying to get you guys killed so we could collect a retrieval fee, we'll let you kill those two of our guys who are already unconscious and collect that fee yourselves. We'll just take 30% of it, for not telling on you.
Kabru, internally: Hm. Well, I'm not king of this dungeon yet, but nonetheless I feel comfortable passing and executing a just judgement upon you for your many known, presumed and planned crimes. Emphasis on 'executing.'
Kabru aloud: I accept!
Kabru: [starts killing them with a classic faint, wide-eyed smile]
What a guy. He's even holding that knife so well. Look, next he's analyzing social trends and acting ruthlessly to adjust them toward the direction of the greater good!
What a guy. Truly this is a "so my type that it's embarrassing" situation.
.
I can't efficiently crop panels to show all this, but favorite parallels in these chapters full of parallels:
Kabru's breakdown of the Touden party is like Laios eagerly explaining and analyzing the behavior and anatomy of monsters (including, though we don't know it yet, calculations for killing them - though we DO see him saying that humans are easy to kill because he knows all the physical weak points!)
The references throughout these two chapters, by Kabru and his party, to the interconnected socioeconomic dynamics of the island and dungeon - the corrupted system fails to check corpse retrievers, the Island Lord as an annoying but necessary bulwark against the Elves, the dungeon growing hungrier as fewer adventurers go down because there's less money and more risk - are so so so like Senshi and Laiois discussing the dungeon biome's ecosystem and food pyramid.
The whole vibe of the party re: their respective weirdo tallman leaders. We watched Team Laios develop this, recently crowned with Chilchuck's near-tearful argument to turn back for a rest, which means we can recognize it when we're dropped into it with Team Kabru: that "this guy is SUCH a goddamn weirdo, but I already followed him into some level of hell, so I'm obviously not turning back now." Kabru's party does think he's weird - "You remember so much about other people that it's creepy." "Why are you enjoying this?" But they're also pitching in on the speculation like Team Touden all hel cook monsters. Compare:
Also!! Something something predisposed beliefs and presumptions of others... This party is so eager to assume the worst of our party, even though our party objectively saved them from perma-death twice, once from ghosts and once from being eaten by fishmen. Chichuck is greedy and bossy, Senshi smells so...notably...that he's judged to be sketchy af... Kabru is trying his best with what info he has, he knows it's not enough to pass a judgement and he wants more, but it's very...uncomfortable? To see this sort of discussion of people we know are great, when we're so used to watching monsters be killed with exquisite understanding and respect.
...I'll chew on that angle of theme more later. Man, you know how, say, what makes the musical Hamilton so good is at its heart it's just like 5-10 leitmotifs that interweave to create every single song? Dungeon Meshi is like that. Hmm a Dungeon Meshical...
.
"Yeah, yeah, we've all heard your weekly lecture about how someone responsible and sociopolitically conscious needs to take the dungeon and the throne or everyone in this region is doomed. None of us can wait to see you flip off the Island Lord to his face. Eat your rations, buddy."
.
JUST THE CUTEST, INNOCENTEST, POLITEST, HELPFULEST (WITH NO ULTERIOR MOTIVATIONS WHATSOEVER) YOUNG MAN!! LOOK AT HIS BIG BLUE EYES AND EAGER LITTLE SMILE!
[3 seconds earlier:
I'm obsessed. In the spirit of this comic: I want to eat him with a spoon. I want to take small divots out of him and lick each one carefully off the spoon, luxuriously exploring and enjoying the complex texture and flavor. Like he's a really good pudding. And then I want to see if, if he and Laios kiss, do they both explode in antimatter.
#dm lb#dungeon meshi#delicious in dungeon#kabru of utaya#tagging a specific person in this one because i get. real normal about him. toward the end.

Fumikage insecurity headcanons?
hiii!! sorry this answer might have been a bit late I haven’t been posting on tumblr lately at all😰😨😨
I think the most obvious insecurity for fumi is definitely his physical appearance! mostly his bird head since I imagine it doesn’t just get in the way of doing things like kissing others, eating normally, like doing CPR mouth to mouth or something😨but also gets in the way of having a normal social life like everyone else cuz we all know how heteromorphs are treated in the mha universe
also like I imagine he’d be insecure of just showing emotions like being happy or angry or whatver cuz of the bird head! like have anyone ever seen him smile WITH TEETH in the show? I don’t think so! but you’d probably think “that might look weird even not considering how his charatcer already doesn’t usually show feelings like that!” so yeah!! emotion!! AND if he has really strong emotions then like dark shadow has more of a chance to go wild so!!
and THEN one of the most sad ones is just his “inability to control dark shadow” cuz like he isn’t insecure of shadow at all like that’s his quirk! his brother (maybe??), his best friend!! BUT he does think that he’s just too weak to be able to handle them and that ties into the next headcanon!
NEXT! I feel like he’s one of those people who everytime he “messes up” (almost being kidnapped, not being able to be recognised or catch up to hawks straight away etc..) like he blames himself so deeply and it pains him to the core!
ALSO just his social skills in general! like he loves the darkness and being goth and stuff but he also isn’t really okay with the fact that he’ll always be seen (and see himself) as jsut a “weird emo kid with a bird head” and like how he doenst let himself show emotions due to dark shadow getting out of hand if he does!
this one kinda ties in with the emotions one but jsut laughing in general since I remember an actual manga panel (not in the actual manga or anime but i’m not sure from what) where he and a few others from class A saw ms joke and she used her quirk on him and apparently his laugh was like super like big and stuff (no idea how to describe it) and he was probably so embarrassed about it cuz imagine being a stoic goth who may or may not have tried summoning a demon with a ritual before (other headcanon) and then actually laughing uncontrollably infront of classmates!
when class A saw each others dorms and stuff they got to fumikage’s and he was super embarrassed and yelled at them all to get out so he’s probably also insecure of his darkness and gothic (how many times am I gonna say the word goth😰) and stuff so yeah!
I saw someone headcanon that the reason he uses big words and says phrases that are hard for others to understand is because his IQ with tests and maths and stuff is canonically below average so he uses big words to make it seem like he’s smarter so yeah! I so agree with that!!
ILL ADD TO THIS IF THERES ANY MORE I CAN THINK OF CUZ PROBABLY!!

I know that it's been theorized who from the ada is going to the PM because of the deal and everyone has been drawing parallels and ideas on who it could be, but one thing that I dont see may people looking at is behavior.
Personally I think that it will be Dazai that will go, he's the logical choice and would act as the best bridge between the ada and the pm, especially since Kunikida was named to become the next president and Dazai is his partner, so if Dazai were to go back and become boss at some point then that relationship is already there and is better than Mori's and Fukuzawa's from the start.
There has been a lot of points made about Dazai not being with the Agency when they are all gathered together (like that one manga panel or the party after the Guild or Kyouka's party) and how he appears more with or parallels Mori more in the intro than before (all of which is true) but we dont talk enough about how his behavior had been changing since episode one.
Dazai in episode one was only serious for maybe a small handful of seconds of screentime during the tiger debacle in the warehouse, when no one else was around to see. We can easily assume that home acting like a class clown happened more often than not from the way that he acts in the series. However, ever since the introduction of Atsushi and the Port Mafai in the series, Dazai has been slowly acting more serious than before.
In the first season alone, He sets it up so that the Azure Poet is killed and doesnt show any emotion when Kunikida tells at him for it. He bugs Higuchi and listens in on her and then basically goads Akutagawa into declaring war. Small instances, but close together.
When the Guild came there were more. There was the Q incident at the train where he all but threatened to kill the child and then slapped Atsushi out of a panic attack (which pain is actually one of the easier ways to remove someone from a panic attack, which is why people often dig in their nails or snap bands at their wrist when they feel one coming, but that's another argument to be had) which was effective but anyone else in the ada would have attempted another method. There was the Moby Dick and how he acted with Akutagawa there. And the meeting between the Ada and the pm where Dazai talked about war strategy. He blew up Lovecraft and allowd Chuuya to kill countless Guild hired guns when they ambushed him during that same instance.
None of those actions were things that someone at the ada likely would have done before the current arc. But now Dazai is continually acting in such away more often. Acting less like a detective and more like a mafioso.
He's relying on the mafia more often too.
Dazai had gone two years without any mafia contact while at the Agency, but now he's going to art museums with Hirostu and met with Akutagawa in the woods. That's not counting Chuuya and how they have worked together three times now in as many months, if you count Dead Apple, this current time in which Mori even helped with the fake vampire teeth. Not only that, but Dazai still calls Chuuya his partner. Not former partner, current.
Dazai dances on a fine line between good and evil, even as he believes in neither, but if it means that he could save those that he’s come to care for then he doesn’t hesitate to cross it (murder isn’t exactly condoned at the Agency, yet that’s exactly what he did to Fyodor - I know that he came back, but still - and has set up for Chuuya to do to those that had stood in their way since reuniting. Like the prison guards). Mori - who still has the executive seat waiting for Dazai to reclaim it, and had told Oda four years ago that Dazai would likely be boss in a few years time - knows this.
Yosano thought that this deal was a ploy for Mori to get her back, but she wasn’t the only child that he lost to the Agency. If we adds this to the paraless in the opening that exist and the fact that Dazai had been acting more and more like the Demon Prodigy with each season, Chuuya, and his place as an executive, it wouldn’t be surprising if he was the one chosen.

Detective Conan M26 (Casual) Review as a long-term CoAi shipper
This is just a casual review. It's not serious and my own opinions.
As someone who had shipped CoAi as a child (even before I knew what shipping was), I squealed so hard when I saw the movie trailer. It seemed like they were going for CoAi shipping HARD.
Of course, not everything is perfect, and this movie is far from the best (I still think the best DetCo movie is M6, which was the Phantom of Baker Street).
I do have certain aspects that I liked and disliked in this movie (SPOILERS AHEAD):
Let's start off with what I liked in this movie.
THE COAI SCENES.
This movie was the ultimate ship-bait for this couple. 2023 was their fucking year. The creators shipped CoAi hard this year. This was from making this movie, re-releasing the Bell Tree Express episode into a Haibara Ai-focused movie called "The Black Iron Train", the sale of official CoAi Uniqlo x ShonenJump shirts, and even an official ShinShi poster. It was like, CoAi suddenly had the spotlight - which was weird since canonically we know they aren't a couple.
There were several scenes that CoAi fans loved a lot. Two of them stood out to me:
The first was the scene where Conan gave Ai his glasses. It was a reference to the Haido Hotel case scene.
I think this was really one of the most iconic and romantic scenes in the series. Him placing glasses on her as a reassurance, and they even did a little Superman-Louis Lane kind of reference.
Granted, I still preferred the scene in the actual anime or the manga panel. They stayed in that scene longer. But it was definitely a callback to the older DetCo episodes.
Believe it or not, Uniqlo even made a shirt out of this scene. This was around in 2023 when Uniqlo would collaborate with Shonen Jump and when they sold Detective Conan shirts, one of the shirts were of this scene. Which I find really odd given that there was no sale of ShinRan shirts (I don't recall ever having one).
The Uniqlo shirt design can be found here. I actually even got this particular shirt. I just had to.
The second scene in the movie that everyone was talking about was the underwater CPR "kiss" scene.
But since the movie was going to have a submarine, I figured there would be a scene where they would be underwater.
The other movie I remember that had an underwater "CPR" kiss was in Movie 2, "The Fourteenth Target". It was between Ran and Conan. It was the scene where they were underwater and Conan was losing oxygen so Ran gave him a "kiss".
But I never thought they'd actually go through with this kind of scene with CoAi. While yes, she's trying to give him CPR because he is drowning, we all know what they were trying to do with this scene. She also attempted it not once, but three times. And their ascend to the top of the water's surface was very romantic. She also seemed unhappy when she thought she had to leave him, but Conan noticed her sadness and reassured her. There was also a flashback to him in that bus episode - "The Mysterious Passenger". That episode where Conan saved Haibara Ai from an exploding bus and told her "Do not run away from your fate". I think that was a great callback too.
I also squealed when Ai acknowledged that they kissed! It was like, OH WOW HAIBARA YOU KNEW. It sucked that Conan is still clueless ever, but that was a fangirl moment for me.
There was also more spotlight on Haibara Ai, of course. Given how she's popular, we got to know snippets of her childhood. I got emotional upon knowing that Ai stood up when Naomi was getting bullied, but that in turn she got bullied and became a social outcast. I think that it is very characteristic of Ai to be a social outcast, given that she appears cold and quiet at first. But my heart ached for her as well, because she was very kind towards Naomi and she suffered so much as Shiho Miyano.
I also liked that there was more spotlight on the agents, like Sena (Kir), Rei (Bourbon) and Akai.
The scene of Ran vs Pinga was great too. Now, I'm not a big fan of ShinRan, but I am fond of Ran as a person. I do think as a character she's a Mary Sue, but as a person, VERY ADMIRABLE. She's sweet, kind and the fight scene was quite intense. I also liked how in the second battle she lost, because I would like to see Pinga win a bit (because he has to have good fighting skills if he is in the criminal organisation, it would have been embarrassing if he lost to Ran).
Now onto the things I didn't really like:
The Detective Conan Movies with Black Organisation as a plot often felt the same. There was a threat, but nothing ever changed because the movies are not supposed to affect the canon manga plot. Hence, Gin and Vodka etc. will never know Shinichi and Shiho's identity as Conan and Ai. They will have their suspicions, but it will always have a roundabout way of them brushing it off. The highlighted characters in the movie like Curacao and Pinga are then killed off in the movie because they are not supposed to exist in the manga. That's why movies with the Black Organisation plot will always seem underwhelming, and they will not be as good as the actual manga plot arcs like Clash of the Red and Black arc.
Another plot hole I didn't like is that the plot or threat was kinda "eh". I was also baffled by how the Interpol's security system is so poor, they can get hacked in seconds and also get infiltrated in the Pacific Buoy so quickly. But you know, it's for the plot purposes, I guess.
The other scene that I really found unnecessary and that I predict that most people would also find it odd and out of place was the scene where Ai kissed Ran to "give back" the kiss Ai took from Conan. Like wtf was that. It's like the creators needed to reassure the audience that Ran was the main girl. It's like "ok guys, chill, we wanted CoAi to kiss, but end of the day we can't make them canon". We all know Ran is the main girl, but let us CoAi fans have this moment. It's like giving us a huge bait for us to bite, only to get it ruined by the last particular scene. There was also no built-up for Ai to feel guilty regarding the kiss. It was a very big surprise and there was no follow-up scene on why she did that, like "I really care for you but you love someone else and it will be selfish for me to do this" moment.
Ran was also understandably stunned that Ai (whom she would think is a 7-year-old child) would kiss her like that. It would have been a good moment for Shiho/Ran shippers, but it's not Shiho kissing Ran. I felt so bad for Ran in that moment because she seemed so confused and there was no explanation (if they could actually explain to her) and the scene was really out-of-place. Conan also didn't seem to question Ai about her odd actions on that part.
The last part I didn't like was that the end of it seemed abrupt. There was no scene where they were back in Tokyo and Conan/Ai having a last moment together. It sort of sucked that the last scene we saw was Ai kissing Ran, which ruined the momentum of CoAi. I was waiting for something in the end credits, but the end credits that rolled was the teaser for the next movie in 2024.
This is the end for the review. Of course these are my mere thoughts as someone who had watched DetCo since mid-2000s (but dropped it in 2017) and had liked CoAi since I was a kid. I'm not sure how the manga is so far since I dropped it at around ep 800, but I heard that there wasn't a lot of CoAi moments in canon now (let me know if it's otherwise, maybe I'll pick it up again).

Dazai truly has become Oda in every way imaginable now. :’ ) the final words he gives to Sigma are the exact same words Oda gives to Dazai in the original scene Asagiri wrote for the end of the Dark Era stage play, 後は頼んよ, “I will leave the rest to you.”
And I really love the progression of the way his eyes look in this chapter, and how Sigma is allowed to have this moment of questioning and rebelling against all the faith Dazai had naturally been leading him to place in him up to this point, which is what I hoped would happen. He’s been confused ever since Dazai first chose him, and everything he’s ever known about how everyone sees/treats him turned upside down by Dazai’s words and actions, and just when he’s finally started to feel like he’s found some hope and lowered his guard, Dazai pulls him back underwater, instantly reinforcing all of Sigma’s trust issues and reinforcing that he should never believe in anyone, because (he thinks) everyone lives to manipulate other people. Dazai’s dark eyes here reinforce that, too, and the other panels around this point where they look white and hollow and demonic, all like Fyodor’s. He appears like an evil, looming force pulling him back under, trying to kill him, when Sigma is so close to the freedom of the air he desperately wants (aka free from pain, which is what he’s been seeking his whole life).
But then Dazai makes this face, and the first one I posted above, and Sigma understands, even without words, that Dazai doesn’t have evil intent: on the contrary, he actually is bound and determined to save his life -- and the light in his eyes comes out through this determination and kindness, arguably the most light we’ve ever seen his eyes have in the entire manga (in the “I leave the rest to you” panel too). The “No” could be Dazai wordlessly telling him to not leave the water, but my first assumption was that it was Sigma telling himself no, stopping his own train of thought about Dazai being the same as Fyodor and someone he shouldn’t have trusted -- he soon realizes why Dazai stopped him, and that he’s still going to try to save him, that he wasn’t wrong about him, and it’s all because Dazai’s earnest expressions get through to him.
And it’s just so heartwarming to see how far Dazai has come. :’ ) He tried so hard to save Sigma (doing the most physical action we’ve ever seen him do, really), did his best to be reassuring and comforting to him afterwards, and then reaffirmed his promise to ensure he escaped Meursault alive, his final words to Sigma echoing Oda’s and his last action being to save an orphan, just like Oda did in his last moments. Obviously Dazai isn’t actually going to die, he’ll be saved somehow, but I do think as of right now he really does think this is the end for him, and that he didn’t foresee the elevator dropping -- he was examining the wires a few chapters ago because he thought he might need to know how to open the doors in case Fyodor pulled an uno reverse, hence why he looks more annoyed than shocked when the water starts, but here, when the drop collision sequence is initiated, he looks genuinely shook in comparison. There’d be no reason for him to give the thumbs up if he knew more danger was on the way, either; that’d just be cruel. No, I don’t think he saw this coming, and it’s important that that turns out to be the case: it’s important that he spent what he believes to have been his last moments saving someone like Oda wanted for him, and doing what Oda would have done in the same situation. That doesn’t mean that it’s okay that Dazai throws his life away so easily, and cares so little for his own safety; he still has a long way to go in that regard. But it’s still so beautiful to see how much he’s changed, and how much he’s truly begun to embody Oda and his legacy; the fact that he messed up and miscalculated, because Dazai isn’t infallible, but in turn didn’t hesitate to use his last moments to save Sigma. Oda would be so proud for everything he did here. :’ ) 💖
There are a lot of options for how Dazai will be saved, and by who, but personally I hope (and I kind of expect) that Sigma chooses to not give up on him and ultimately plays a role in saving his life, to return the favor and repay him for his kindness. Not only would it be a beautiful way to initiate Sigma’s ADA entrance exam as people have said, but it would bring the Dazai > Atsushi > Sigma chain full circle: Dazai saved Atsushi at the start of the series, allowing him to (spiritually) save Sigma at sky casino thanks to the growth fostered in him by Dazai, and now finally, Sigma could potentially save Dazai thanks to Atsushi kickstarting his own growth (and Dazai continuing it). Fyodor is overly cocky right now and so tunnel-visioned on killing Dazai, it’s possible that he has no idea that Sigma managed to escape the elevator and is now a wild card; even if Sigma doesn’t go as far as killing Fyodor himself (which I don’t want, tbh; that’s endgame stuff arcs down the line and imo Nikolai and Dazai should be the ones involved with that), he could throw a wrench in the jailbreak duel, and help Dazai and Chuuya get out alive. It would be poetic, and only fitting, for Fyodor to underestimate and be outdone by the kind of person Dazai told him is the strongest in chapter 77 -- a self-proclaimed “ordinary man” -- who could only have the strength to take such action thanks to the chain of kindness that Oda originally started. 💖

Hi just want to say I love your theories especially the President of USA is actually AFO's disguise or rather Hisashi real AFO's disguise in America that I remembered something from chapter 422 where we saw the president again. I found it interesting as I remember before the heroes of America were prohibited from intervening in the war going on Japan because they were busy with their own villains aka AFO's friends. Stars and Striped just broke that rule and went to Japan anyway. Funny how now that a certain green haired kid is fighting AFO is when the president changes his mind and sends the heroes of America to fight in Japan but only after seeing its Izuku who's fighting. I mean could be a coincidence maybe they already dealt with their own situation in America and only then decided to assist Japan but I don't think the manga ever showed that situation in America being solved. But then the president looked absolutely panicked in that panel and Inko was shown in the same panel. What do you think?
First, thanks for your kind words. I love this kind of theorys, even if they dont turn out true in the end. Its so fun to speculate what could happen. I have no idea why so many people react so deeply insultet as soon as people talk about dfo or other theorys. Its not a big deal. We are just having fun.
About the theory if the us president is afo aka hisashi in disguise. Its a fun thought and when @lurking96 @psychomurderz and I came up with it, we were for the most part just joking. I swear if it turns out true I will eventually die of laughter! 🤣 Just imagine, right now most of the readers believe dfo is debunked because "afo doesnt love izuku" (as if all parents on this planet actually care about their children, there are enough who dont) and because he seems dead for good, but then in the last few chapters hori gives some subtle hints or even confirms that hisashi is afo and on top the president of the united states. The fandom would explode! 🤣
Fact is, afo has the ability to change his appearance, to change his dna, can have any quirk he wants, said himself he never leaves traces that could lead back to him, did hide in america for many years, is pretty popular in america as well and whos best buddy is a mad doctor/scientist with the ability to dublicate every quirk and also was in the possession of a clone quirk. So I think, people believing that afo couldnt have a clone (no matter if hisashi is the real afo or not) is kinda dumb. Hori hyped hisashi up to be someone of importance in interviews and refuses to talk about him because of "to big of a spoiler" and I dont think he was lying. Dfo is debunked when the last chapter comes out and its to 100% confirmed there is no connection between afo and hisashi not sooner or later, so I dont get why so many dfo fans have given up already.
And yes, I too think that its weird how the us president was at first against his own heroes helping japan out with afo, but as soon as he sees izuku fighting he orders all heroes to go to japan to help and when this one guy pointed out "but what if afo wins and we are the next target?" And the president SCREAMS "I dont *fucking* care!" On the same page inko is on! I mean HELLO?! Of course it could be just an coincidence. But why was the president at first against it and was like "sorry, guys but my heroes have enough to do with our own villains. You are on your own" but as soon as he sees izuku he is like "screw that! Send EVERY SINGLE american hero to japan to help that boy! I dont fucking care what meanwhile happens to the country Im responsible for!" Yeah, weird reaction.
It was pointed out that afo has his hands and influence in every single country. Has "friends" all around the world in the governments. If afo similar to garaki had a clone of himself there is no way afo wouldnt try to take control of the most powerful nation of the world. Im still positive about dfo and I dont care what any anti says. Dfo is debunked when the manga is finished and hisashi really is just some other dude of no importance what already contradicts what hori said about him! Remember, how hori used hagakure as a red herring for the traitor reveal and readers were like "I KNEW IT!", just for aoyama confirmed to be the true traitor. Hori had no qualms to put red herrings in his story just to come with a twist in the end. Seems like a lot of readers still havent learned their lesson!

✨Highlight Reel! Part 2!✨
Now onto the meat and potatoes of the thing!
- Mayuri Himself
Hey look, it's user mayuris-basement-dweller gushing about the owner of the basement! What's new?
You underestimate my level of Simping. It went up considerably.
God, where do I even start?
Let's see.
Maybe with the fact Mayuri literally changes in front of our scandalized eyes? Pernida tried to commit homicide...
It didn't work. It just stripped Mayuri of his golden armor. Which I guess signifies it stripped him of his joy and whimsy because when he appeared again...
He locked IN.
That's when Pernida should have known he made a grievous mistake, but he is a hand, so life is hard.
I saw a bunch of people going "What, Mayuri could do all that?!" in neighbouring social media. As his fan, I am not surprised in the slightest. You people just SLEPT on him, when you shouldn't have. Much love.
If people ever ask you to define what younglings call Aura, trust me, you can show them this with tranquility.
The amounts of unbelievable CHILLS I had when Mayuri turned to Pernida with that smile could fill a whole building.
But it wasn't the only moment. The umbrellas, the infinite amount of them. Mayuri's Bankai (which I could write a whole book about).
But I will just just elaborate on three things.
I NEED to gush about this first!
Look. I read the manga. This was easily my favorite panel/sequence ever. And I was so hyped to see it animated.
But it went above and beyond my highest hopes. I also took several screenshots of this and if you look really well you can see the thread... But no needle.
With that being said, like with the umbrellas, I think the thread is somehow coming from Mayuri's fingers. Look when his hand appears. Well, who knows, it wouldn't be so absurd, we talking about Mayuri here.
But...
The Godlike suturing? That could be better according to him?! The speed? The amount of locking in?! ALL OF THAT WITH ONE HAND?!
(Babygirl confirmed ambidextrous ♥️)
The way Ryusei said "Pernida" afterwards?!
If I wasn't already dead when the Hirenkyaku shoes got turned on, I would be using God's Wifi after that.
That's EX levels of badassery right there. Also of course I am very fond of Spideryuri too, let's not forget.
But the second thing I need to bring up...
You people have NO IDEA how much joy this gave me. Yes, we all think these are his subordinates that he loves exploding, but... Who knows? It might be, yes, and it's babygirl exploding people to me, nothing new. But it can be other random Shinigamis, a Junji Ito reference, but I am not here for the worm guys! I am here for Mayuri and a sling!
(TBF, yeah, poor worm dudes. You dying for a noble cause tho. But if Mayuri turned you into worms it's probably cuz you looked at Nemu wrong. Sorry.)
Mayuri with a sling!
Slingshot arm combo!
And the way he NATURALLY, WITHOUT A SINGLE MOMENT OF HESITATION, just does that to Pernida. Twice!
It makes me wonder. And I did for the longest time...
Was Mayuri this good with a slingshot when he was alive?
Did anyone in Seireitei ever see Mayuri "living menace" Kurotsuchi with a slingshot?!
I will never, ever, know. But in my head, it's too late.
Also Part 3 incoming... I think today, but that one will have even more pictures! You can't stop me, picture limit!
#kurotsuchi mayuri#bleach tybw#and I didn't even start with his beauty yet#I DIDN'T EVEN START#tybw spoilers#tybw cour 3

So, that last minigram huh?
Kotoko continuing to be unable to take what she dishes out is adorable without question. To celebrate the continuation and the use of portal timeline interactions in another minigram-
I wanna take a moment to discuss that and how martial arts is handled in the portal timeline too!
Transcript of official translation of Minigram EP51 "Mixed Martial Arts Competition Part 2"
[51-1] Kotoko: You're a martial arts guy right, Kazui? Kotoko: What do you do? Judo? Mahiru: What's wrong Mikoto? Kazui: Why do you wanna know all of a suddent? nervous Mikoto: If the battle starts here, I'll have nightmares about it. Mikoto: Who is stronger...? Last episode [51-2] Kazui: Uhh. Kazui: I mainly do judo and kendo(Japanese fencing). Kazui: And a bit of karate. Kazui: You also have some experience in combat sports right? Kazui: I can tell. Kazui: Hm... Kazui: It involves punching and kicking... Kazui: But I don't think it's karate... Kotoko: ...! Kazui: Is it taekwondo? Kotoko: I'm not telling you. Kotoko: Stop staring at me you pervert. Kazui: Is.. Kazui: Isn't that a bit unfair...?
Source
Does Kotoko in the last panel remind anyone else of another prisoner?
I guess playing investigator/hero is only fun when when she the only one doing the watching right?
They’re still here, still here, it grates me.
The difference between this in and the portal timeline interaction is that more prisoners have been included. Mahiru and Mikoto. Two people who had already deduced that Kazui and Kotoko had some martial arts knowledge.
Since this is following up from Minigram EP50 "Mixed Martial Arts Competition Part 1" where Mikoto asks who would win between Kazui and Kotoko in a fight.
[50-1] Mikoto: By the way- Mikoto: Who is stronger between Koto-chan and Kazu? Mikoto: Both of them do martial arts, right? Kotoko: If we go head to head, I'd think Kazui. Futa: Of course it would be. Futa: Don't ask such a stupid question. Futa: Women can't beat men in martial arts. Futa: This isn't a manga. Futa: Body size makes a big difference. step step Futa: How hard you hit is dependent on your body weight Futa: You don't understand. [50-2] Kotoko: Futa does have a point. squeak Kotoko: The fact that many martial arts have weight divisions means that it makes much of a difference. Kotoko: I would be bantamweight and he would be cruiserweight or heavyweight. Kotoko: But... snap Kotoko: I would at least break one of his arms. sst Kotoko: ... So when do we fight?
Maybe we'll get to see Mahiru and Kazui's timeline conversation from 20/06/19 turned into a minigram as well.
20/06/19 Kazui: By the way…… thanks, Shina-chan. You keep going around and talking to people to make sure the mood never gets too sour, right? It’s a big help. We’re all in here together, after all. If a fight broke out, the whole group could fall apart. Mahiru: ……eh? Huh~? Ah, no, I’m just talking to people because I personally want to talk. All the kids are so cute, so I can’t help but want to fuss over them! A fight, huh… But if that ever happened, then you’ll definitely be a big help, right~? Since you’re so big! And buff! Kazui: Ahh, no. I mean, I’ll do what I can. Based on appearance, as long as nobody has a weapon, I think I can probably get everyone under control…… No, we should just hope that nothing like that ever happens. Mahiru: You know, I quite like watching martial arts, actually. I don’t really get it, but it looks super cool. Hi-yah! Hi-yah!
The changes made in the minigram could be to give a more cohesive narrative to those moments. Mikoto, asks Kotoko who's tougher which causes her to get intrigued as well wanting to test her strength, she asks Kazui what martial arts he knows to see if he's a worthy opponent. This leads to Kazui getting nervous assuming this means she's going to try to fight him. Which could lead into him thanking Mahiru for always trying to keep the atmosphere light afterwards and she just explains she has fun talking to everyone.
But let's hop into the interesting thing. Considering the focus on strength and martial arts I decided to look over the timeline interactions involving them. they're interesting to say the least.
Here's the first one to mention martial arts-
20/05/30 Mahiru: Hey, Kotoko-chan. There’s something that’s really been bugging me, so do you mind if I ask? ……how do you style yourself so well? Have you always dressed like that? But it also looks like something you’d wear for training. Do you play sport? Ah, or maybe some kind of martial arts? Kotoko: ……you really are carefree. Everyone in here is a “murderer” right? Is this really the time to be asking questions like that? Mahiru: Hmm, I guess so. That’s what they said. But nobody here seems particularly scary or anything, right? If I had to pick someone, then maybe you’re the scariest! Ah, wait, do you do like yoga or something? Kotoko: ……I can’t tell if you’re making fun of me or are just an airhead.
The second is you guessed it the interaction between Mahiru and Kazui. Wow Mahiru certainly is good at picking out people who know martial arts in a casual way.
The third one is Kotoko's interaction with Kazui,
20/07/09 Kotoko: Kazui, you do martial arts, right? ……what type? Judo? Kazui: Ah, my main is…… judo, and kendo. I also know a little bit of karate. You must have some martial arts experience too, right, Yuzuriha-chan? I can tell by looking. Hmm… probably a combat type…… I’m guessing not karate…… is it taekwondo? Kotoko: ……I’m not telling you. Stop ogling me like that. It’s gross. Kazui: I-isn’t that a bit unfair?
Then the conversation between Mikoto, Kotoko, and Futa.
20/08/03 Mikoto: By the way, Koto-chan. Who’s stronger between you and Kazu-san? You both know martial arts, right? Kotoko: ……if it was a fair one-on-one fight, probably Kazui. Futa: Isn’t that obvious? What a stupid question. There’s no way a girl could win in a fight against a man. This is real life, not a manga. There’s too big a difference in body size. And that’s what determines the weight of your attacks. Kotoko: ……Futa’s not entirely wrong there. In a lot of martial arts, they specifically split up divisions based on body weight for that reason. I’m bantam, and he’d probably be either cruiser or heavy. Well, I’d still break an arm or two though.
The funniest thing about looking over the Portal Timeline interactions in contrast to how the minigram portrays this is-
Well to realize that Kazui never told anyone he did martial arts until he was directly asked by Kotoko. Kotoko and Mahiru both just assumed from how he was built that he did some sort of martial arts. A conclusion they would have come to by oggling the man.
Now Mahiru doesn't hide that she's eyeing up the every adult men in Milgram at all-
20/06/08 Mahiru: Shidou-san…… you’re really good-looking. Personally I think you’d be better if you ate a bit more, but you’re slim and tall, and well put together to boot…… You must’ve been super popular up until now, right? Shidou: ……yeah, that’s true…… I did my share of fooling around in the past. Mahiru: Oh~? That’s not the sort of answer I’d expect from you. I’ve got it! Somebody told you that if you replied like that people wouldn’t resent you so much, right? Shidou: Haha, I’m surprised you guessed. ……it seems that no matter what guise I put on, it’s meaningless against a woman’s insight.
So, it's not much of a surprise that she would make this sort of observation about Kazui. Hell, I'm not even faulting it.
Q.05 Who do you dislike most out of the other prisoners? Mahiru: Futa-kun is a bully, so definitely out! Also Mikoto is pretty flippant, he kinda seems like the type who’d cheat~
If she's trying to use Milgram to find a new boyfriend all the more power to her. Yet, it is again very hilarious that from how the timeline presents it the only reason Kotoko came to the conclusion that Kazui did a martial arts was because she was in her own words ogling him.
Kotoko: ……I’m not telling you. Stop ogling me like that. It’s gross.
What about you, Kotoko?!
Putting this look to the side. Which out of context and in context is not good cosidering the deifnition of the term ogle.
Kazui never told anyone that he did a martial art until he was expressedly asked by Kotoko. The only way that anyone would draw the conclusion that he did is by looking at him (possibly alot). Plus we already know that Kotoko has been keeping an eye on all the prisoner and even more stuff since the release of Deep Cover.
Sorry to go into semantics but yeah what Kotoko did in this minigram is the definition of ogling and is presented as such visually as well as contexually. So, makes sense why they'd have her call him a pervert instead of having her say to stop ogling her like she did before. Having her say that would highlight the double standard here a bit too much.
Despite Kotoko not even answering Kazui when he asks why she's inquiring about this in the overtly menacing way that she is. He still answers her question earnestly. Then when he asks her what martial arts she does to continue the conversation and give her the opportunity to have a reciprocal conversation she just shuts it down by calling him a pervert in the minigram and implying he's one in the original portal timeline by saying he's ogling her.
Him saying that's a bit unfair is rather reasonable. Because that's what it is unfair. He told her what martial arts he does the least she could do is continue the conversation she started and answer the same question she had the audacity to ask.
But while we're still on the topic of martial arts-
Why the fuck are Mahiru and Mikoto so good at telling who does martial arts? It makes sense for Kazui and Kotoko. Also Mahiru admits to being interested in martial arts to Kazui. So, that somewhat explains that. Yet, with Mikoto it's a bit surprising. Given he says that he hates violence.
Q.06 What do you hate? Mikoto: working overnight / reptiles / violence
Well just because he hates violence doesn't mean he can't recognize those capable of being violent or even that he won't use violence himself. It just means he hates it.
Still why is that a skill Mahiru or Mikoto would ever need to the point of being comfortable enough to surmise that two of the prisoners here do it? While also being stunningly correct. Mikoto could have overheard any of the other timeline interractions and just been making small talk though.
Since his talk happens after all the others. Still the fact that four people in this prison are possibly really good at surmising if someone does martial arts by looking at them alone is kind of impressive and terrifying.
This is just some interesting stuff that the new minigram got me thinking about. It's really interesting to see how the staff is incorporating the portal timeline interactions into the minigrams. I can't wait to see what they do with the others from trial one.

Okay so, I have collected the evidence, and the part where Shunsui takes the sword from sister in law falls somewhere in between whatever his look was in the academy episode this season when he first spars Ukitake (is blue the lowest rank/first year or? I forgot, but the color scheme of the uniform has to do with the year one's in) to the moment he hears about the execution of sister in law, where both him and Ukitake are wearing black, as graduated from the academy but indistinct foot soldiers (neither is wearing the white of the captain color).
You'll have to contend with manga panels only because the anime hasn't gotten to that point yet, but in the panel he takes the sword from sister in law, he doesn't appear to wear any academy clothes, bc whatever he's wearing is missing those small patterns of crosses over their nips.
Did Kubo forget to draw the uniform correctly or is this man wearing normal/civilian clothes as he got called "home" by a relative? You can see he already has a ponytail by then (2nd panel in this post) if you squint. So does that mean Shunsui of back then was closer in appearance to Shunsui of panel 3/execution or Shunsui of panel 1? Because if he had the look shown in Ukitake's flashback I can't defend him as to why his sister in law would not register him as a man. You show up to her house with that face? You want her to sit on that?
But Shunsui's of the third panel, with black uniform on is low-key pretty boy handsome, so maybe there i could make a case. (Not that sister in law cares because at that point she had made peace with how she wanted to die and take with her own clan, whatever happened to Nanao happens. You can see she looks down to the earth all through that flashback, possibly bc looking into the eyes of people may tempt her to not stage her own execution, so I doubt she paid much attention to how those around her, including Shunsui (who is very tall) looked, even though she hadn't seen him in quite some time. I wonder if to her death, if she ever thought much about him (yes, this man fell for a woman that didn't even know he loved her), she had the image of the little boy teen Shunsui from back at his brother's, her husband's, house.
I don't know, on one hand the lazy low hanging ponytail (limp dick behavior) is a sign this man was slowly already giving up on his appearance, in that his hairstyle hasn't changed much across centuries, all he collects is more facial hair, and a substantial amount of body hair. Does he even cut that hair, let alone style it? He's too lazy to do anything with it so he'll tie it up into a ponytail. And over the years the shorter strands of hair that framed his younger face got longer, which is why the current Shunsui has one long curl at the front but mostly the hairs ties back completely. Which makes me think, the only reason his hair was short at the start of the academy, is cuz his family had him do it but he slowly gave up on grooming or maintaining himself because that is who he is. And especially gave up altogether once the sister in law died, because what woman is left to impress now? On the other hand, he looked worse with short hair, and given how this man was still a twink up to the point of black uniform, it must be that the trauma his sister in law gave him/caused him activated his manwhore genes and that's how Shunsui grew thick. (& with the hairiness and all, almost like a little child who wants to overgrow his body because he wants to be an adult too fast) If we could get this guy's his current look with the working dick of his youth days, maybe it could work.
Also that little facial hair he got going on in panels 1-3 isn't doing much for you Shunsui, just shave it off; grow a beard or don't, you look uncommitted (which again fits his character in that his man can't take burdens or decide). But this transitory stage he was in wasn't it; he should have just cleaned shaved and called it a pretty boy, and maybe his sister in law would have been impressed when he showed up. But this man showed up a mess, even if he showed up looking like 3.
Hey maybe she'll meet you in the Hell Arc, one eye and a couple of holes in your body later. A woman can dream & write... fanfiction.
#anime manga rambles#bleach#ShunSiL#also why you already eating red beans with sake you future alcoholic in training your sister in law is not dead yet#and nanao is barely born for you to disappoint her / your niece#that episode really read like fanfic bc it tried to hit every box in the Shunsui (or ukitake) sheet:#red bean something which likes he shares with nanao#alcohol#women women women shut up you virgin cherry man#& idk anything you can think of & tried to tie together some other characters that were also alive or around at the time

finally someone who actually understands inuokko and doesn't mischaracterize as an alpha sigma male and Toge as an uwu boy! bestie you don't know how happy I am that you came up on my fyp.
omg hi anon !! 🥺🫶
i love analyzing characters way before any shipping, i could actually read nothing but found family fics because i just feel like they always catch the perfect dynamic. with yuuta and toge specifically, i do feel like you can appreciate aspects of how their dynamic is on an appearance level or how they fit certain popular tropes, but i don’t think it’s the driving force behind what makes them so good together.
i do acknowledge that if we default to the stereotypical gay men tropes without tangible reason, it’s more indicative of getting used to knowing how to write LGBT+ relationships and tending to default to what we might be used to in straight relationships. i say that without any offense intended, it’s just a part of the writing process. especially with toge as a character, who has so much of his characterization sprinkled outside of the manga and anime. a lot of his backstory and characteristics are derived from the fun facts, light novel, and now even the unreleased game has given us so much more content. but i also think that’s why he’s so popular, there’s so much freedom in exploring him, especially if you haven’t discovered the existing content. taking that with yuuta who is honestly a fan favorite of the chad dude straight bros and gets a little too much ‘alpha male’ treatment from them, it can be a little confusing. (it kills me a little to see some one say he’s an alpha male with a bad attitude and smoking guns when manga panels will literally have him looking like this (・・?) 😭)
i do have preferences in how both yuuta and toge are portrayed, but that’s just because i care about them so much as individual characters.
for me, toge is soft and kind, but he was also born as a weapon and has spent his life sacrificing himself over and over. you can still have that softness and kindness, even more so when experiencing certain things, but there’s also a degree of hardening from trauma. i do characterize him to be less overtly an instigator lol, but that’s personal preference in how i see him combined with canon material. i find a lot of his trolling to be slipped in and more of a double take than full on gremlin, but that’s less mischaracterization and more preference. i find his relationship with living and death so, so interesting, especially in how he tries to shield the first-years and yuuta from having any kind of blood on their hands. it implicates him to have done that very thing, and he spends his life silencing himself because of it. i do believe his language barrier is almost a relief, because it acts almost as a self-imposed wall. but despite that wall, he still reaches out because while he himself is okay being alone, the thought of someone like yuuta, someone he sees as exactly like him, suffering by himself is painful to him.
for yuuta, i am a big advocate for the continued acknowledgment of his anxiety, depression, and low key craziness. he had a normal childhood, but that somehow makes the transition to everything with rika so much worse. because he had that normalcy and it was shattered completely. he’s hurt, maimed, and killed people both unintentionally and intentionally. but he sees it as necessary in protecting the people he cares about the most. in a lot of ways, i think his dubious morality and how far he’s willing to go is an expression of his love. for example, killing getou in his eyes is the ultimate act of service to gojo, so he himself would not have to kill him. his character is such a juxtaposition compared to everyone we’ve been introduced to. here you have these child soldiers, ready and willing to sacrifice themselves, where death and suffering is more feasible than ever living their life to entirely. then they give us yuuta, who wants to live so badly in happiness that he’s willing to inflict and do everything for and against their society. it’s almost an unhealthy relationship to a degree, but it’s the only kind of relationship any of them know how to have.
together they work so well, because like i’ve said before, they defy each other’s expectations in what they ever believed they could have or deserve. despite their rough edges, the blood on their hands, the years they’ve lost to fighting battles they never started, they treat each other so gently. as if they are the better half, yet simultaneously knowing exactly how much they have done. yuuta who sees violence almost as a love letter, who absorbs toge’s curse as if it’s something to admire and adore. toge who sees himself as unforgivable in his crimes, who self-enforces isolation and barriers yet took a step out just to comfort yuuta from a mild spell of anxiety, because he couldn’t stand to see him suffer even in a minor degree.
i have so many feelings about them so i’m so glad that they come across the way i want them to !! i love all content, and i’m always willing to share my thoughts, but ty so much for the validation bestie, i’m sure i’m eating up your content as well !! 🥺

Hi =) I'm here with a stupid question about Kishi's art again... (I'm so sorry😶)
What emotions do you think are Naruto and Sasuke expressing? Naruto is smiling, but what about Sasuke?
Hi @shutkaminutka ! 💕
I have two versions in my head. One is the more marketing version where they both look down on us and flaunt these necklaces proudly as they should. But then I was looking at these clothes and when this art appears in the Manga between chapters and I changed my mind. It's always hard to tell without the eyes/eyebrows.
Cr. to Kishimoto:
Something like this maybe? Sasuke looking at Naruto who's grinning at him while he's struggling internally because.. Naruto. Lol sorry for the quick messy sketch.
Explanation:
In the Manga when the creator wants to hide a character's emotion they hide the eyes purposefully like that. So when you see a panel for example like this:
It means that the character is hiding an emotion or feels something that is contradicting to what is shown. Mostly it is to create some distance between characters or the reader depending on context. It can be ironic since even as a reader you can perfectly know what is going on. That is the point but it's more to add drama, clues or even pacing. When there was a shooting star, Sakura cried while looking at Sasuke's picture. Hiding alone in her room because she's upset.
Naruto however looked at the star, clutched his chest tightly and was happy. He smiled and got determined to train harder. We get to see multiple close-ups from his eyes afterwards:
Ever noticed that? You may think those are just some small details but no, no, that is all done deliberately. Kishimoto is showing us the contrast literally with intent after one another. The exception is when the focus is on the emotion itself:
In Chapter 316 Kishimoto draws Naruto without eyes as well saying that Naruto's "enjoyable Summer is just about to begin!!"
And we all know Naruto's Summer was not particularly enjoyable.
So why did Kishimoto not draw the eyes in the art? Because the focus is on the necklace anyway and it doesn't matter? Too much work? Haha yeah not buying it but it could be. I learned a Japanese proverb which is 目は口ほどに物を言う. I think it translates to something like eyes are the windows to the soul kinda-thing and that's very important in Manga. In this case Naruto and Sasuke are wearing boyfriend necklaces and there is literally no context. Showing no eyes.. What are the hidden thoughts/feelings or intentions? What is the emotion or contradiction? Why is Naruto's necklace he got from Tsunade so.. veiny.. why does it have balls? Why does it look like a.. why. Why. Kishimoto why. Why why why. I wish I had all the answers tbh.

Ooh shit, things are starting to go down
Oooh fuck
YAAAY SERIZAWAAA unless...
ok <3 yay <3
Roshuuto is a diiiick
So Tome heard reigen cus she trusts him, and Hoshida heard Roshuuto cus he trusted him too, only to be left to die, damn
Also reigen heard tome beacuse he worries and actually cares about her
Tips
Ooo Serizawa flexing his powers, imagine that in anime, i see a lot of potential
Wagh Serizawa has learned a lot from Reigen and Mob, hes changed a lot from the first time we saw him
Its interesting how this is the first time we see the "Psychic powers are not special" on a non esper
IN THE SPANISH VERSION SHE CALLS HIM LIL DIMPLE BASICALLY LMAOO
So theyre trying to make her realize that psychic powers arent special and to see beyond other things that could interest her, its basically what mob does in the series, but this time it's Tome's turn to learn
I felt a little "I love my job beacuse I get to be around people i like" from reigen when he was gonna tell her about why he works but HE DIDNT
Oh imagine the salt panel in an anime adaptation he would look cool
Salt splash
Is it me or did the artstyle change, it looks a bit more like the anime
SO SHES BEEN THROWING SALT
GET SALTED IDIOT
Oh shit hes gonna say it
OH HE ACTUALLY DID SAY IT I didnt think he'd say the truth
Ow that did kinda hurt, but it makes sense, he does care about her, hes trying to protect her
Reigen
Oh hey its the anime girl again
Rip hoshida again lol
Oh they changed the lion joke here, in this translation it was translated as "Why dont lions like fast food? Beacuse they cant catch it" lol
OOOOH WE'RE SEEING THE GIRLS OTHER SIDES LETS GOOOOO
SHE MAKES YAOI
WEIRD GIRLIES I LOVE THEM SO MUCHHH AAAAAA
SHE GETS IT NOW YAAAAAY
What the fuck happened to roshuuto
SERI NOOO WTF IS HAPPENING
DIMPLE WASNT ABLE TO HELP EITHER???
ROSHUUTO UR A DIIIIIIIIIICK WTFFF I GET IT BUT WHYYY
FIUWHECOIQUEOCQIERGQOIERCHQOEWU9CHQOWEIFFQHE8FQ7HW9F8QU294F7QH28FQHWEJ
THE HUG OUGH
HE TOOK IT
HOOO NOOO
OH whats he gonna do
Oh fuck
Aw hes hugging it
OH OH I SEE
Oh it worked! I think
OH NO THAT CANT BE MOB IT CANT
I WAS TOLD HE DIDNT APPEAR HERE
Oh hes just grabbing his ass by the suit
LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO unless...
YAAAY, I didnt hink Mob would actually show up, I thought some other thing would appear but yayyyy
I wonder if he ever told mob what actually happened
N you can tell its mob cus the first thing he says its asking reigen again to not call him so suddenly also he sees mob cus reigen trusts mob
Aw they just go for ramen, ngl he deserves one, that mustve been stressful
LMAO ROSHUUTO
He doesnt even know math
NONE OF THEM KNOW MATH
Final thoughts: That was so fun to read omg, we really need an anime adaptation or a movie even that could work too Aside from that, I get why its called REIGEN and not TOME despite Tome being the protagonist, the spinoff it is about Reigen, its about what he taught to mob and others, the core message of the series "You arent special" Tome's arc here is understanding that. She feels lonely and bored beacuse she cant be herself in this new enviroment, shes an outsider, different from the other girls that are just interested in superficial things so she goes to s&s to be around things that she enjoys, ghosts, cursed places, psychic powers, etc. She isnt seeing that theres more things to see However she then realizes that the rest of the girls do have that problem of feeling like an outsider beacuse of their interests and when they realize that theyre all weird they start trusting each other and start to fully enjoy their company, she understands that her situation is not special, theres many more people that accept her as she is, she starts enjoying the connection she has with others, shes found a place where she fits in Thats what reigen did, he was able to find a place where he can be with the help of others, this ones about apreciating the connections we make with others
Ok my thoughts were kinda scrambled so I hope that makes sense, thanks for reading my shits <3

Diabolik Lovers - An Angel's Embrace Shorts #2: The King, the Songbird, and the White Rose (Part One) ♡
So this is basically a Karlheinz x Angelica x Christa kind of thing. It also takes some inspiration from a few Diabolik Lovers manga panels that has English fan translations.
WARNING: Diabolik Lovers is a dark series with mature themes and topics. Discretion is advised. . . .
The Human Realm, The Sakamaki Mansion. . . .
"Subaru, please hold still!" Angelica told the white haired boy as she brushed his hair. "I don't want to accidentally pull your hair." "Sorry mama," Subaru said, a heavy blush appearing on his pale face.
"It's alright hon," she reassured him with a smile. "I understand that you're nervous."
"How does the suit feel?"
Subaru looked at the black suit that he was made to wear by the butlers (on orders by his father) for the party being held tonight. It was fine, it fit him perfectly, but he thought it was far too fancy for his tastes. But he didn't want it to be a hassle for Angelica, who helped make the suit more to his style, as she sensed him being uncomfortable when he first tried it on.
"It's fine." was his reply, though Angelica wasn't convinced considering that Subaru was fidgeting with his white cravat. "Is it too tight, dear?" she asked him. "Yes. . . .can you fix it for me, Mama Angie?" he asked shyly.
"Of course I will." Angelica said with a light laugh. She knelt down and fixed Subaru's cravat to be more comfortable for him. "There. How does that feel?"
"Better."
"Good. Are you ready now?" Angelica asked.
Subaru honestly didn't want to go to the party. If anything, he wanted to stay in his room with his birth mother Christa, Angelica, and his older brother Akira and play games like they used to when he was younger. But as this was under his father’s direct orders, he knew that they couldn’t do such a thing. So he decided to just brave through it. As long as he had his two mothers and older brother by his side, Subaru believed that he’d be fine.
“Yeah. . . .I’m ready.”
.
.
.
.
The Ballroom. . . .
Angelica was quite honestly getting tired of having to put on fake smiles for Karlheinz’s guests.
Before her husband left for whatever business he had to attend to, he had informed Angelica to make sure that nothing happened to/with Christa when she was let out of the tower for the party: meaning that she had to keep an eye on any guest that would try to initiate conversation with her at all times. Because other than Akira and Subaru, Angelica was one of the very few that could calm Christa down if she were to go through another one of her psychotic episodes. So far, everything seemed fine.
Because of this, Angelica wanted Akira and Subaru to go and hang out with Akira’s friends, whose fathers were invited by Karlheinz as they were business partners, so she asked Akira to come forward and told him. Akira agreed and attempted to have Subaru follow him, but Subaru didn’t want to leave his mother. It was natural for Subaru to not want to leave. After all, he feared what could have happened to her if he was gone for even a minute.
When Angelica tried to ask him herself, Subaru said, “I’ll go. . . .but please promise that you’ll take care of Mother for me, ok?” “I’ll do you one better,” Angelica said, kneeling down to his level and raising her hand so she was sticking out her pinky finger. “I pinky promise you that I’ll take care of her.” Subaru smiled ever so slightly and nodded, making a pinky promise with her.
Why children considered pinky promises to be so sacred, Angelica didn’t know. But it was all she could think of.
As soon as Subaru followed his older brother Akira, Angelica had heard a soft sigh coming from her friend and noticed that Christa wore a solemn expression. “Christa, is everything alright?” Angelica asked. But Christa didn’t seem to hear her, seemingly lost in her thoughts. Angelica tried to ask the question again, she saw Christa was mumbling something that she couldn’t quite hear, though it wasn’t completely difficult to hear. Angelica managed to pick up her friend saying:
“. . . .mother. . . .than me.”
“What was that, Christa?” Angelica asked, curious. “!” The pale woman flinched and stuttered out, “I-It’s nothing, A-Angie!” “R-Really? Are you sure?” Angelica asked her. Christa nervously nodded her head, and looked away from her friend’s face. While Angelica wanted to know what Christa said, she knew not to press any further, and decided to just leave it alone for now.
An hour had passed, and Angelica was able to keep her promise to Subaru with ease. So far, neither of the guests approached her and Christa. This was mainly due to the fact that a good majority of them were there to speak with Karlheinz and had no interest in making small talk with any one of his four wives, even though one of them gave birth to his eldest son and heir.
When Angelica looked at her friend to see how she was doing, she saw that Christa was practically shaking like a leaf. Due to her being locked in that dreadful tower, the poor woman was no longer used to being around groups of people.
‘The poor thing. What should I do?’
Before Angelica could even think of a solution to help soothe Christa’s nerves, the sudden grabbing of her left arm severely startled her. “?!”
When she turned around to see who’d dare be so bold to startle a woman like that, Angelica became confused when she saw that it was Christa that grabbed her arm, a little tightly as well. But that didn’t matter to her since she was more concerned with the scared expression on Christa’s face.
“Christa? What’s wrong?”
“A-Angie. . . .it’s C-Cordelia. . . .!”
“?!”
The sound of heels clicking against the marble floor captured Angelica’s attention, so she turned her head to the direction of where it was coming from. Her silver eyes narrowed when she saw that it was indeed the wretched purple haired woman coming their way. What did that vile serpent want this time?
“Christa, get behind me, please.” Angelica whispered. Christa immediately did what Angelica said, though her grip on her arm didn’t lessen in any way.
“My my, even if the location changes, things are the same as ever. Cordelia said, an arrogant tone evident on her otherwise pretty features.
“Hello there Cordelia, to what do we owe the pleasure?” Angelica asked politely, doing her best to not show even a hint of annoyance. She didn’t want to potentially rile Cordelia up and cause a scene at the party.
But before Angelica could get a response, Subaru had shown up in a flash, placing himself in between his two mothers and Cordelia. ‘Subaru?! What is he doing here? I thought he was with Akira!’ Angelica thought, nearly starting to panic. Her eyes looked to the right when she heard the sound of footsteps approaching fast, just to see that it was her son Akira arriving. “Subaru! There you are!” Akira nearly exclaimed, not realizing who was there. “You scared me half to death! You know that you can’t just run off like t-”
“Get away from them, you. . . .you old hag!” Subaru grumbled, loud enough for just the three women and Akira to hear.
“S-Subaru!” Angelica nearly exclaimed. She prayed that Cordelia would just ignore him, which she seemed to do, in a way.
“Oh come now Subaru, that’s no way to speak to your elders, is it?” Cordelia said to the boy, right before she turned her attention to Christa. “Anyway dear, how’s your health?”
“!” Christa shuddered and continued to use Angelica as a shield of sorts, hoping that Cordelia would just leave her alone. But the green eyed woman didn’t stop. In fact, this was just a taste of what she planned to do.
“Aww, by the look of things, it doesn’t seem to be doing too well. That poor frail and seedy body, and you still look as pale as a ghost!” Cordelia said with the slightest hint of a wicked grin.
“Watch it, Cordelia. . .” the fourteen year old Akira nearly growled as a warning. He always had a protective streak when it came to both his birth mother and step-mother Christa, much like Subaru. Though Cordelia ignored him, continuing to belittle the red eyed woman.
Growing tired of this, Angelica decided that enough was enough. “Christa, I think we should leave. Now.” “Mama-I mean, Mother Angelica is right!” Subaru said, agreeing with her. “Let’s just leave and go back to the-” “N-No!” Christa nearly shouted, which seemed to be getting the attention of a few nearby guests.
‘Oh no! This is exactly what I wanted to avoid, damn it!’ Angelica thought, mentally cursing.
“Oh but Christa, it’ll be fine if you and your little. . . .troops leave the party.” Cordelia practically sneered. “Karl did contact me before he left and said that he’d be running late. It’s only logical that he’d tell his most precious wife that, right?”
Angelica nearly bit her tongue as she held back on telling Cordelia that Karlheinz had informed her of the same thing. That’s why she had to put on so many fake smiles and laughs to begin with, but it wasn’t important enough to her to start any needless drama with the triplets' mother. And she could tell that both Akira and Subaru thought the same, as they both were keeping their mouths shut as they glared at the daughter of the Demon King Burai.
Christa, on the other hand, wasn't going to let this slide. She moved ever so slightly so that she was now staring (or rather glaring) at the first wife.
"Oh come now. Don't glare at me like that, Christa." Cordelia said. "It's beneath you. It's not my fault that I'm Karl's most favored-"
"Oh please, you're such an annoying woman, so how can't I?" Christa interrupted, causing Angelica, Akira, Subaru, and Cordelia to become rather surprised by this.
Though Cordelia's momentary shock was immediately replaced with anger. "You. . . .How dare you!" she shouted, her face almost turning red.
At this point, almost every guest was staring at the verbal fighting that was taking place. Angelica, not wanting this to escalate any further, attempted to become the peacemaker.
"Now let's calm down before we-"
"Do you actually believe that he loves you? Don't make me laugh." Christa interrupted, now walking out of Angelica's shadow so she was standing face to face with Cordelia. "The only ones that he loves are Angie and I! Not you and that woman Beatrix!"
"C-Christa?"
"Mother. . . .?"
'Dammit,' Angelica thought. She had forgotten that Subaru was here. She looked at her son Akira, who seemed to have understood what she wanted him to do without her saying anything. After all, they've done this hundreds of times. He grabbed ahold of Subaru's hand and told him to follow him, but the little boy refused to leave. This made Angelica decide to take action.
"Subaru, I want you to follow Akira back to where his friends are." "W-What? Why?" Subaru asked sadly, making Angelica's heart break a little.
Seeing this, Akira decided to step in and distract his baby brother. "It'll be ok, bud." Akira told him with what he hoped was a reassuring smile. "We're just going to the game room and play-"
"YOU INSOLENT LITTLE--HOW DARE YOU?!" Cordelia shouted. "TRY SAYING THAT NONSENSE TO MY FACE AGAIN! I DARE YOU!"
"FINE!" Christa shouted, her hands now trembling. Though whether it was from fear or rage was unclear. "THE ONLY ONES THAT HE LOVES ARE ANGIE AND I! NO ONE ELSE! UNDERSTAND?!"
Before a thoroughly angered Cordelia could fire back, one of the butlers, most likely Gramps, had announced that Karlheinz had finally returned from whatever business he had to attend to. The guests turned their attention away from Cordelia and Christa's fighting so that they could finally greet the Vampire King.
Cordelia, on the other hand, was too angry with Christa to go and greet Karlheinz, so she stormed off, and, unsurprisingly to Angelica, grabbed hold of Richter, who was also in attendance, and disappeared from the party all together with him. What they'd do, Angelica knew but ultimately didn't care. It was none of her business and she had no plans to get involved.
Besides, there was someone important that she had to take care of.
Angelica looked at Christa, who was almost on the verge of tears and with a flushed face. The pink haired woman gently placed her hand on Christa's bare shoulder, making the pale woman flinch. "!. . . .Angie? What is it?" "I just wanted to see if-"
"Ladies Christa and Angelica, Lord Karlheinz wishes to greet you." a familiar voice, the butler Gramps, interrupted. The two women were both surprised to see their husband behind the butler. They assumed that he'd want to speak with the guests first, specifically his business associates.
"Karl-"
Suddenly, Subaru put himself in between the two women and, more importantly, his father.
"!"
"Hey buddy," Akira said, a little nervous. "What are you doing?" However, Subaru ignored him as he was staring down their shared father, who didn't seem to be interested in his youngest son's shenanigans.
"It's ok! I'll take care of this guy. . . ." Subaru said, now full-on glaring at the man he hated. If looks could kill, Karlheinz would have combusted right then and there with how Subaru's eyes were practically burning with anger.
'So much anger for a six year old. . . .' Angelica thought to herself.
As she was about to step in and handle the situation, she noticed that Karlheinz had ignored Subaru and walked over to her and Christa. "My dears," he said with a sweet tone. "I've been dying to see you two all day."
Before Angelica could make a response, Christa had, rather surprisingly, had rushed towards Karlheinz with a smile. "Karlheinz"
While Christa and Karlheinz were embracing one another, Angelica's eyes glanced at Subaru when she heard a sniffle coming from his direction.
He was crying.
"Subaru, are you-" Angelica didn't even get a chance to finish as the six year old vampire quickly disappeared into the crowd. "S-Subaru!" Angelica nearly exclaimed. She and her son Akira quickly got ready to go after the boy, when all of a sudden, the triplets appeared before the two, all three of them wearing their own dashing little suits.
"Mama Angie! There you. . . .wait, where are you guys going?" Ayato asked. "Ma-I mean, Mother and I are going to find Subaru." Akira told the redhead, quickly correcting himself so that he used the 'proper' wording when in front of others. "He. . . .uh, got a bit lost." he said, a little white lie. "Did you guys see where he went?"
“Subaru. . . .Subaru. . . .who’s he again?” Ayato asked. Angelica honestly wasn’t surprised that Ayato didn’t remember which brother that was, as he and Subaru never really interacted with each other, and also because there were so many brothers for him to keep track of. “He’s the one with white hair and red eyes. You know, he’s Christa’s son.” Angelica explained.
It took a few seconds for Ayato to realize who she was talking about. “Oh! That guy who Akira calls-” “Yeah, him! Did you guys see where he went?” Akira interrupted. “Yeah, we did.” Ayato told him.
"We all saw him going towards the gardens." Laito answered. "He was so mean!" Kanato whined. "Bumping into Teddy and I without even an apology."
"Subaru probably didn't mean to," Angelica told the purple haired boy. "He's. . . .well, probably a little overwhelmed right now." "Huh? Why?" Kanato asked, getting curious. "Kanato, it's probably because Father invited all of these people we don't even know." Laito told him. He then looked at Angelica and asked, "Am I right?"
"Quite. That's why Akira and I are leaving to go-" "No! We don't want you guys to go!" Kanato cried out. "It's bad enough already that Mother left with that man! Please don't leave!"
Even though Angelica was more concerned with finding Subaru and making sure he was alright, she didn't want to leave the triplets (especially Kanato) unattended. So she looked at her son Akira and asked him to stay behind and keep an eye on the triplets. Akira nodded and was able to distract the three seven year olds with the promise of games and treats.
As Angelica walked to the location of the gardens, she was momentarily stopped by a familiar voice. "Angie? Where are you going?" The pink haired woman looked over her shoulder to see Christa and Karlheinz staring at her.
"Subaru's gone! I'm going to go find him!" Angelica explained. But just as she was about to leave again, Karlheinz had stopped her and said, "The boy will be alright. It's not like he'll leave the mansion. Besides, you're supposed to perform a song in just a few minutes anyway." "!" Angelica almost felt tempted to slap his hand away. How is he not concerned for Subaru's safety?!
She looked at her friend Christa for help. Surely she'd agree with her, right? Christa could never stand the thought of her only son not being in her eye line after all. But her heart dropped when Christa, not looking her in the eye, mumbled, "Karlheinz is right, Angie. . . .Subaru will be fine. He’s a. . . .strong boy."
". . . ." Angelica must have given them a certain look, as Christa flinched and Karlheinz gave a semi-forced smile as he said, "Oh come now Pet, don't look at us like that."
Angelica, not wanting to waste anymore time, roughly got her arm out of Karlheinz's grasp and dashed towards the gardens.
"Angie? A-ANGIE!!" Christa shouted as she followed her friend, with Karlheinz not too far behind.
.

Sakamaki Mansion, the Gardens. . . .
"Subaru! Honey, where are you?" Angelica called out, hoping that the red eyed boy would respond to her call. Subaru had somehow managed to hide himself away, causing the pink haired woman to unfortunately assume the worst had happened.
"Subaru, please answer! Subaru-"
The sudden sound of a twig breaking and soft cursing captured Angelica's attention. "!" The older woman immediately realized where he was, and she approached the rose bushes with the utmost care.
Angelica found the weeping Subaru, whose body was shaking like a scared little puppy.
She approached the young vampire, who at first tried to keep her away. But it didn't take long for Subaru to allow Angelica to pick him up and soothe him. As Subaru's crying died down, turning into whimpers and soft snores, Angelica realized that he must have tired himself out. The pink haired woman immediately teleported to Subaru's room, where she placed him on his bed and woke him up for a brief moment so that he could change out of his suit and into his pajamas and brush his teeth.
After putting him to bed, Angelica placed a gentle kiss on Subaru's forehead and left his room, and was surprised to see both Karlheinz and Christa just outside of the door.

Okay so I've shared this page before, saying how Kaneki comes off really Asexual when he says this, since he's prioritizing other features of her besides physical. But I'm realizing now, just how passive he says this too. Like not only is her beauty not the only reason, but its far from the top reason, maybe even irrelevant to his interest in her.
[ID: Manga panels from Chapter 1 that show: Kaneki sits in anteiku and says in his thoughts as he peeks over his book at Rize "Her appearance is beautiful, of course... But there's another reason I'm attracted to her. She's reading the work of one of my most beloved authors, Takatsuki Sen. And by chance, she happens to be reading the same title as I am. The Black Goat's Egg." The other panels show Rize reading this book. End ID]
And then, this read I'm realizing that he also comes off as really Aromantic.
Like, his idea of a date... It sounds more like he just wants a book club buddy to hang out with.
[ID: Sitting with Hide, Kaneki says "Yeah, her name is Kamishiro Rize. This time, we're going to give each other novel recommendations!!" The next panel shows a dream-like scene of Kaneki happily running while dragging Rize along, running across floating books through various bookshelves. Kaneki says "It's my first outing ever with a girl, but its a dream bookstore date!" Kaneki ducks his head and shakes in excitement as he adds "Hide... my heart has been deeply touched!" Hide gives an awkward thumbs-up as he replies "I don't really understand the appeal of a date in a bookstore but... whatever, go and have fun!" End ID]
Like, "give each other novel recommendations"? That's extremely basic. Not even "discuss the deep reasons why we connect to these particular books to learn more about each other"?
Poor guy just wants some book nerd friends.
Even the image in his head looks like he's out book shopping with Rize, no hint of anything specifically romantic in sight.
And yet he's so genuinely emotional over this. Even using phrasing that you would think he's talking about a more stereotypically romantic date.
And this is exactly what they do on the real date, too! Give each other book reccomendations and chat about Takatsuki's various works!
[ID: Sitting at dinner together, Rize asks "So Kaneki-san, what is your number one recommendation?" Kaneki twirls and eats pasta as he says "Hmm.... Takatsuki-san's debut work, maybe?" Rize responds "Oh, Dear Kafka! That trick with the letter really got me." End ID]
