Reading that people were complaining about 13 era Who in the Women in Doctor Who panel at Dragon Con is very telling. 

If you cant have a Woman in Doctor Who panel without people complaining about 13 era Who I almost don’t even know what to say. 

The era that had the first female Doctor, the first South Asian companion who was also female, it highlighted numerous female historical figures including Rosa Parks, Ada Lovelace, Noor Inayat Khan, Mary Shelly, Mary Seacole and Madam Ching. Plus it had more female writers in 3 series, then the rest of Who… there is so much positive you could talk about with 13 era Who on the topic of Women in Doctor Who even if the writing wasn’t for you.. It was a good time to be a Woman in Doctor Who. 

So if a panel on that topic cant see that, if a large part of an audience at a panel can’t and would prefer to complain about 13 era Who and make the environment feel hostile to 13 era fans please don’t tell me its just ‘bad writing’ and not misogyny. If you personally feel like you aren’t a misogynist and it is just ‘bad writing’ good for you but you are still in bed with the misogyny that runs rife in this fandom.

Also when it comes to 13 era Who the way the women are written is actually far more respectful and not sexualised unlike the previous eras so unless you think all female character should be sexualised in Who you cant really complain about 13 era Who on that writing front.

Also I feel sorry for the fact that you had to spend each episode working out what people were going to hate about it instead of just enjoying it before going online because you knew if you ever had a positive opinion the fandom would eat you alive for that opinion. Who knows maybe it wasn’t Chibnall or the other 9 writers who were supposedly so terrible at their jobs that made you hate the show sooo much maybe it was the fact you knew you couldn’t go online and ever say you loved something without getting piled on so instead you had to find everything wrong with it so you could be in with the in crowd. Maybe the fandom conditioned you to hate the show more so than the writing. 

If you put the same over analytical glasses on and watched the RTD and Moffatt eras you could find just as many things to hate about the writing, but they didn’t have a female Doctor did they? So all their short comings are irrelevant. Theres so much to love in all the eras I’m sorry you were conditioned not to see the good in this era and could only see the bad.

Leo is streaming, lounging on the big beanbag chair again. His model is in space themed comfy clothes, with slippers, and a star covered mask.

He was playing through a rouge like game, not fully sure what he needs to do yet, but still having fun fighting off the multiple waves of enemies. It's noted that he's sticking to the sword based weapons, even if there are multiple weapons available from the beginning.

Suddenly the graphic of a cartoony slider riding a skateboard, rolls across the screen followed by "Thank You Chaotic_CinnamonRoll for the $10, 'Why did you decide to go into the medical field? You might've mentioned medical books in the past?'"

Leo let out a nostalgic sigh, "Well, that was part of why I got into medical stuff, let me tell ya. I think Dee mentioned how we didn't have legal identification for years, so if something happened with us Dad couldn't really take us to any medical facility. But he got ahold of as much supplies, and field medic training manuals, and medical guides as he could find." Leo has a smile on his face as he continues, "And while Dee is big on science, they don't like viscera, so Pops started to show me how to help. It just goes from there."

Leo spys a comment in chat, "For the person asking about Pops not using insurance, well after his sudden retirement, he didn't have insurance anymore, and he didn't know how to apply." Leo lets out another sigh, "Plus he wasn't familiar with how things worked, because he had a manager or assistant to do all that stuff for him. He was just a confused father of 4 who was trying his best while dealing with his own depression! I'm not trying to justify anything, just stating a fact."

Leo suddenly stretched himself out to grab something and rolled over onto his stomach, facing away from the camera, he's grabbed his phone to check a notification that wasn't heard over the mic, for once. What ever the message was it made his happy, because his tail was wagging a bit fast. He spends a few minutes messaging back and forth with who is assumed to be Leo's boyfriend.

He eventually remembered that he was in the middle of a stream, and sheepishly apologized for ignoring them.

"So since this game is newer than most that I've played, there aren't many guides on what I chould do yet. Sooo I gotta keep throwing things at the enemy and see what's most effective. Like that, wait was he a Croc, or and Aligator? Either way he was the first mini boss! Image how hard the other will be until we get more upgrades!" Leo says excitedly as he goes over the upgrades menu after returning to the start after dying right after the boss, from low health. "We also got this new 'Side Scroller Beatem Up' game because it and the DLC was one sale. Though that might be better played with more players, and our schedules don't always line up multiple people being on the stream. Plus I promised Dee our next game would be his choice."

Leo is half focused on going through the upgrade menus, and talking to the characters around the hub area. Thinking that the blue guy he was playing as could lighten up a bit, be more like the orange dude, but hey their Dad is missing and everything is tense. And where is the last person of the group, or do they only appear after going a certain distance in the game?

"Though I do like the look of that spikey turtle dude, reminded me of Red, though he's wearing, was it dark blue or a deep teal, either way cool dude. Hope he shows up in the hub area. Now do I want to switch to one of the other 3, or just continue as my blue guy?" Leo is rambling, if only because the analytical part of his mind is currently at war with the 'Oh Shiney! What was I doing?' part of his mind. "ALSO! What is with the odd element system that the flavor text is talking about, not the water I get that, this Utrom thing, it's kind described as tech based, but what is an Utrom? Why am I asking chat when they mostly say they've never seen this game before?... Did I forget to take my medicine, because I don't usually ramble my thoughts out loud this much."

He then pauses the game to check his phone for his medical data. "So I need to take a break again real quick. I either didn't take my medicine, or somehow took the wrong medication. So please hold while I go check. And don't any of you go looking up the game to purposefully cause spoilers. I want to figure out enough on my own first. Okay BRB!"

The screen switches over to an animated scene of the guys cartoony turtle selves are swimming about, though Mikey is jumping between Raph and Leo, and slightly submerging Leo in the process. Donnies is occasionally trying to bite Leo for bumping into him.

The chat is talking among themselves, notifications are going off, and some jokes about the medic taking the wrong medication.

Like I had only the 'why I got into the medical field' part planned, then just decided to have him ramble about the game which is 'TMNT Splintered Fate' but not quite. Then at the last minute I was like 'I should make up a reason for him being very ramble-y right now'.

First impressions of Victory Road by someone who has never played any of the inazuma games. I am halfway through watching a gameplay but I just had to share so BEWARE (MILD) SPOILERS AHEAD

the rock-paper-scissors gameplay is absolutely hilarious and i am so here for it and all of its unexplored potential

contrast that with the story which takes a very wild and serious turn from the beginning which is so spot on for the inazuma franchise i actually gasped. it is genuinely the most inazuma thing ever, i swear

the characters seem to evoke other characters but not enough to feel like copy-pastes which i really like

Sakurazaki looks like a mix between Kidou and Gouenji which i appreciate

Unmei is such an awkward little emo boi, i love him already. he still has the drive to protect ppl like Endou but without the sunshine attitude; he is way more analytical which is honestly sooo refreshing i could cry

speaking of sunshine, Kisoji is a 10/10 character already, instant fave, precious boy, must protect, and i have not expected him to become so relevant so early (i thought the others like that long haired goalkeeper would be in the forefront rather)

there are few girls but you can already see the ones who might become relevant to the story: Juno is Haruna/Akane coded, while Lilac evokes Natsumi for me but we shall see if they become relevant later on

pls pls let that female teacher be their coach, i have been missing women coaches from inazuma

i don't mind the simulated social media in it. it doesn't add much for me but it also helps in establishing how far away from the og series we are, which i appreciate

og characters becoming coaches was a top tier idea in GO too, i'm glad they kept it

i have said it before and will say it a hundred times, endou's kid being uninterested in soccer and being a little brat in the field is a genius move and whoever came up with that should deserve a raise. it seems a bit self-evident but when you think about it... endou had met and recruited/shown the ways of sakka yarouze to many such kids who did not care about football the Right WayTM and for his son to become the antithesis of his own philosophy... *chef's kiss*

i am gonna lose my mind because of the names though... like i will end up referencing half the cast in japanese bc that is how i learnt their names before the game came out but now i only know many other character's translated names so... my tagging system will be a mess

I just finished a S1 rewatch and it is CRAZY to me how much the fandom misremembers/misinterprets S1 Dean as this huge misogynist who has never so much as taken a sip of respect women bc it's just not true! We get that impression at first glance because he's flirty and talks a big game, but sooooo many of his interactions with women in S1 are like. him making one (1) flirty comment and then proceeding to empathize deeply with the girl of the week and developing genuine emotional bonds and advocating for women like... repeatedly. It's genius sleight of hand from the writers (and on a narrative level, it's a brilliant performance from Dean that Sam swallows hook line and sinker) but it's hilarious that going on 17 years since S1 finished airing people who dedicate whole blogs to SPN still buy the falsehood!

literally !!!!! god i wish i could make spnblr do a mass rewatch and then hold post episode discussion forums where we engage analytically with the text and dissect the character behaviors and motivations and deep-dive into themes and symbols and SUBTEXT. because all of dean's character esp in the early seasons is literally. subtext. what's on the surface is what we're seeing from main character sammy's pov and it's one dimensional and it's a performance and it's a mask and if you literally want to know anything about dean you HAVE to look deeper and read into the parallels often being drawn between him and the victim or monster of the week or read between the lines of what he's saying versus what he's actually doing or feeling. dean postures and overcompensates SO much. he'll flirt (often badly) and shoot charming little smirks and smiles and he'll openly check out women often in a very over the top way and then turn to sam and say something like "she's hot" and then in the next scene he'll be blushy and awkward or so so sincere and empathetic to the girl he's talking to and he gets all flustered and shy over cheek kisses and simple pecks.

And it's just so clear once you're really looking that all of his "ladies man" behaviors are just. this over the top act. It's a caricature. And sam just, takes it for face value and thinks that's all there is to his brother because he's never really questioned it. And that's not all sam's fault because the whole point is that dean is trying to hide a lot of his true self to fit into a certain image and persona, one that he thinks john would approve of, one that keeps him safe. And while Sam can't really see it, we as the audience can once you start really paying attention and peeling away at those layers. It's like, there's Dean Winchester, ladies man hunter in john's jacket. And then when you take off the jacket, that overcompensating persona that covers conceals his true self, you start to see the there's a lot more hiding underneath.

AH the cafeteria scene drives me INSANE. barely any bylers ever talk about it even though it's such a crazy scene and i feel like it's such an important look into mike's character.

i suppose a lot of bylers are just uncomfortable with the idea of mike being into any other guy than will, let alone eddie, who's older than him, and that's why they ignore it. which, come on.

it's not anything against byler. and not anything problematic, obviously, not even gonna go into that. let him have a fucking crush. it's just proof that mike is intoTM men. and only men. that boy is smitten. he's shown more attraction to eddie in this one scene than to el throughout the entire series so far, istg. it's so funny.

and he's just so cute. this is the only time we've ever seen him act like this, other than in his scenes with will. especially taking into consideration how absolutely miserable mike is ever since the byers moved, and that him and dustin are 'in trouble' because lucas won't be able to play d&d, the fact that eddie manages to make him sooo giddy says so much.

and the music choice... even without it, i'd have been real suspicious, but that just confirms to me mike really has a crush.

Combining two older asks with this recent one together for some Eddie chat! This will cover a few topics as to consolidate ideas and not be repetitive. I made a post a little while back about Mike's behavior towards Eddie I've linked here, the rest of my thoughts under the cut since this got long!

I think Eddie in general served primarily more as a plot device - and you can love him and love the character and that's cool and admit that's not a bad place/character to be in the narrative. Stranger Things has a pattern. New character for the season, they will represent something for main/focus characters arc, then they die tragically. Barb, Bob, Billy (even if he slid into two seasons), Eddie (people add in Alexei and I guess he counts? I have very few thoughts on him but sure, I'll add him). Not to say that these characters are not characters onto their own, but for analytical purposes - I think it's accurate. Eddie had an arc, met his end, represented many many things for our characters. Especially Mike and Dustin. There is something to be said for his queer-coding - but I don't think it was primarily meant for Eddie himself (I mean, to be fair we do have the guy yelling about sodomy in the high school cafeteria). It was the catalyst for audiences to shift the idea onto Mike. And most probably missed it, but I think it will hold up on the rewatch after the whole series is out. Who knows what the show is going to do with Eddie (mentioned in passing - that guy's dead) in season five. Maybe it's my biased opinion since that's when I picked up on what was going on with Mike, that cafeteria scene.

Mike's reactions and body language around him. His treatment of Eddie like an older figure he respected and didn't want to disappoint. They hang out and play DnD together, but when has Mike ever been a beacon of agreeability with people giving him shit, especially those older than him? He wasn't really trying to be cool, Eddie was a freak. I'm honestly not sure they were close friends, even if they were in the club together - and maybe I'm wrong. I feel like Dustin was the closer one, and Mike enjoyed the club, but was probably also going through the motions of high school. I haven't watched the show in a while, might need to revisit to reevaluate episode one to see how Mike is acting overall that episode. There's a lot packed in there.

He wanted his approval, though. His body language around him. The cafeteria scene, though - that song playing in the background. Mike had a crush. I stand by that forever. Eddie wasn't on Mike's mind once he left for Cali because Mike wasn't around Eddie, and Eddie's part in the story was for those in Hawkins. Television storytelling. Mike had to pretend and force it again for El and hide it all and act messy af with Will. But it set the tone for the season, what happened in episode one. Why would he mention Eddie when they had other things going on in California?

And I stand by in canon - no real purposeful chemistry between him and Steve (I don't care what people do in fanon fanfic world - yes, yall want two adult male characters to ship and write smut about. I see you, I understand you, I've been you. I just have no investment because Byler is more interesting to me and I'm bitter about the Steddie fandom because I wish I liked them more so I could enjoy more fic and art while wishing people weren't babies and fearful about Byler for no damned reason). YES there was a cheeky little remark in the van, but I think Eddie's just an ass, not specifically flirtatious. He spent too much screen time on pushing Steve and Nancy together, for whatever reason (plot device reasons). He moved the narrative. He will move the emotional narrative for Dustin, like Bob moved it for Joyce, and Barb for Nancy.

It's interesting that there's this discomfort with either Mike or Will having a wandering eye for anyone other than each other, which is just unrealistic. You don't have to write them with other characters if you don't want to, but to not even acknowledge what might have brought them along their sexuality journey... boring. I've literally read things where fans say "Mike is just Will-sexual" or the same for Will. Ughh, spare me. Let them be gaaaaay. Let them admire men around them and have formative crushes on other boys, especially older boys. That's sooooo formative and something fun about the speculative nature of fandom, a space to dive into what that could mean for the characters.

Take Eddie for example, great question. Because we talk a lot about what Eddie meant for Mike's sexuality, but what would Will have thought about him? I'm not sure, because I can see multiple angles with him. There's the rock and roll angle and the unashamed nerd angle and the DnD angle - I also think Eddie draws? They'd have a lot to bond over. Eddie's unabashedly himself. Will would admire that. But Will's also a little reserved, a little bit of a doormat sometimes. How would he react to the somewhat brash attitude? The aggressive methods. The critiques and insistence of nonconformity. But Will is really the most himself of everyone, even if hiding a massive secret. His style and personality and demeanor is neither "conformity to being normal" (Mike) nor a somewhat forced "fuck you to conservative small town society" (Eddie). Will stands alone.

I firmly believe Will would have gone to Lucas's basketball game - the loyalty of friendship. But with Eddie screaming at them in the cafeteria, judging them? Would he even have joined Hellfire? Would the Party have even joined if Will had been there - maybe, maybe not. It seemed Will leaving broke the glue. Would they all have even been interested if Will was there - would he have made some comment to the group - "I'm not interested in joining a new party. What we have is good enough, right?" or would Will been intrigued by joining in a group with fellow nerds? I honestly cannot make up my mind. And I'm not so sure that Will would be as into Eddie as Mike is. I just feel like there would always be either this layer of trepidation or his admiration might be at arms-length. But I can also see Eddie as maybe clocking Will for his sexuality and maybe since they're all fellow misfits, maybe he'd be a source of telling Will to embrace who he is and tell the rest of the town to fuck off. I'm not sure he would be that sort of mentor but he... has the potential capacity. And maybe we can make the case of bi Eddie, as something he and Will could find commonality over, idk. That makes for a cool fanon exploration, to be honest.

Kind of a ramble, kind of a lot of ground covered. But there's a lot of interesting directions to take with Eddie - who is just a fascinating point of conversation regarding his role in Stranger Things. The Eddie Effect is both bafflingly overly-popular while simultaneously underutilized in other subsets of the deeper fandom.

i saw hadestown on broadway with my sister today and seeing as i haven't seen a live musical in... years (?) i really enjoyed the experience and wanted to document it into the void for future reference. tagging #hadestown not to throw this into the waters of the official tag but just for my own organizational purposes. anyways, rambles below the cut:

so first of all i didn't realize JORDAN FISHER (!) was going to be my orpheus (clearly i'm very new to this space hi) so my jaw did drop when i saw him on stage. and i did point him out and whisper "that's jordan fisher from MOVIES" to my sister when she asked who he was (she's younger). i also LOVED maia reficco as eurydice (she's so pretty and talented and does anyone else think she looks kind of like rachel zegler? especially in that costume/hairstyle?? just me???). i was sat up on the mezzanine because i thought it'd be better to see the whole stage but honestly the stage was pretty small so i regret not buying tickets down in the orchestra to see the actors' faces better. my favorite staging/lighting moment was during wait for me (which is SUCH a tune 10/10) when the hanging lights start swinging around in a circle and i was just. enchanted and entranced. generally though i loved so many of the lighting decisions in this show (especially when they played with the intensity, like when persephone asks why it's so bright down in hell and the stage lights go to a gazillion watts. chef's kiss, gorgeous, no notes, says the amateur fan who wouldn't be able to have notes anyway). also the moment when eurydice follows hades up the stairs to sign the contract and persephone puts her hand on her heart and looks after her sadly... ouch! when jordan fisher as orpheus turned around at the end (heartbreaking) my sister audibly gasped, and then when eurydice sank down into the floor i did start crying in the dark.

more general musical theatre-y thoughts/appreciation section: i had a LOT of fun sneaking glances at background actors who weren't the main focus of a scene just to see what they were up to (eg at the start when hades and persephone are having tea together silently despite the main action going on downstairs; also when orpheus and eurydice are in their lover era lying down hugging and kissing while singing/dancing occurs behind them. and towards the end orpheus/eurydice hug in the darkness for a whole song and i was so impressed at how still they were able to keep). and also just a general live show note: i LOVE how in plays/musicals they're able to make the entire story happen on just. one stage + one set of stairs + that upper balcony area. (i watched a bootleg of the west end production of next to normal recently and they had that same kind of stage set-up so i assume it's fairly standard for musicals?) but like—and this is especially true for relatively smaller stages—it just strikes me as such a fun creative challenge, and i'm always so impressed at how productions choose to utilize the limited stage space in new and interesting ways (like in hadestown the part in the stage that rotated as they walked? and the center circle that went up and down? the moment after the intermission when the steps on the side retreated and the stage just seemed to *expand*? SO fun. love love love.)

and finally i didn't know too much about this show going in so i didn't expect the whole worker's rights/immigration/capitalism subtext but i'd be sooo keen on reading analytical essays dissecting the way hadestown engages with and navigates these topics & themes. like i keep thinking about a version hadestown with illegal immigrants who are forced into unfair contracts w no legal protections... idk maybe there's something there? the parallels? i just think the same story and songs could be transplanted into so many different real-world settings and it'd be so interesting to see the implications play out!

also i can sense this is a very common opinion but i'll be so brave and say it again: queer hadestown would go soooo hard. when is somebody going to make that happen.

Ohhhhh boooyyyy. I just finished reading chapter 25 (for the second time) and I’m sooo 😍😍😍😍. The banter, the mixtape, visiting Max, Uncle Wayne being the absolute BEST, the delicious yet so soft sex scene and the fucking tattoo!!!! Oh my god it was all so perfect 🥹. I feel like I’ve been just as curious as Steve about what Eddie’s tattoo said and it is just so, so perfect for Eddie. I love it. All of it 🥰 There’s like, so much I want to say but I think my brain is mush now hahaha. I’m so freaking pumped for the epilogue even though it will be bittersweet because I have such an attachment to this story 🙃 And I’m still very much itching for Eddie’s POV because he is baby and I love him so 🥹

OMG YES BESTIE!!! I’m so happy you liked it. Literally went balls to the wall SAPPY with this one. There was no other option!!! The boys have earned it!!!!! Also so glad you’re still excited for Eddie POV even though we have so much of his explanations now. The great thing about MPG Eddie and Steve is they’re both such observant and analytical people but also so full of self doubt you can never trust them to know for sure what’s going on. So Eddie’s POV will be so interesting because seeing Steve from the outside and through Eddie’s lens of fear will make the existing story new even though it’s the same stuff!!! So pumped to get into Eddie’s brain and make MPG again but even more depressing and full of self-loathing. 🥰😈🖤

Idk these are my current obsessions and I can’t stop drawing connections between them and trying to get other ppl to like them. Like how I want an orv/Hades game xover based purely on vibes and the fact that I consumed them at the same time

HOW DID YOU KNOW? I, like, never talk about it but I am definitely like low-key obsessed with scum villain. Like I have the first volume in print and read fic about it allllllll the time I've read SO much fic by SO many authors it's kind of concerning. The AO3 scene is so talented and diverse... And exactly as you said I love the comedy a lot. I read it after ORV so if you read my fic and see the way I do KDJ that's me pre-reading scum villain going like "wow it would be funny if there was a book fixating on this aspect of KDJ where he is desperately loving and in love with this guy he thinks is objectively the best person in the world but he will never ever let him know on pain of death" and then some time in the interim of 4.2 and 4.3 when I was kind of switched from creating mode to consuming mode I read sv and was like 😲 hello???

I really like how sv and ORV both are really analytically subversive of the tropes of their particular genres while still ultimately fulfilling the promises they make to the reader. Of course I do think that ORV fulfills more of those promises and is very purposeful about that, but that's why I like reading SV fic more, bc I like to see what issues people had with it and what they took away from it and what they would want to change... Like SV is sooo messy and funny but obvi it's got a lot of stuff that makes you go "... Ummm?????" so seeing other people have those same reactions is comforting.

It's totally the opposite for me when it comes to ORV fic I have to admit tho! I usually only read ORV fic by my friends nowadays bc I just don't have a lot of fun in the Ao3 tag. It's one of those media properties that I have a lot of specific, positive interpretations of, so I'm not as generous in my readings of fic about it I think 😅. I was pretty much just looking for stuff that was basically letting me reread the original work, so when I felt like the author changed some idea or character motivation I would always think 😤😤😤 that isn't right!!! They don't know them like I do! What about such and such scene or such and such character motivation from such and such chapter of ORV, don't they remember??? Which totally isn't fair to the authors bc obvi they're just playing with ORV and fixating on specific tropes and themes just like I am... That's just what's the sign to me to "start writing fic" instead of just "keep reading more fic."

Anyway that's why I don't talk about SV a lot, but I'm actually really into xianxia as a genre right now because of it. I've been hyperfixating on traditional Chinese medicine for a while now (in the vein of reading research articles about neuroscience behind acupuncture theory and translations of resuscitation methods from the six dynasties period) so that interest has ultimately culminated in me working on an original comic project that might never see the light of day. Basically just one where a guy gets put into a female xianxia protagonist's body in a het romance novel so he has to Speedrun being trans lol. He's like a neuroscientist tho so his main thing becomes trying to prove the germ theory of disease while the plot happens around him. Bc the only thing I'm constantly thinking to myself while reading xianxia is "... How would that work? Like. Scientifically." Which shows how lame I am lol... THIS guy wants soft magic rules to be HARD magic rules... Also like there are a lot of problems faced in modern NS research that being able to manipulate qi would really help with on like a microscopic cellular level... Problem is that cultivators & microscopes don't coexist...

Anyway thanks a lot for your question! The other thing you mention- that xover sounds really funny, especially with the pre-existing OT3 dynamics I think it'd be good for Yoo-Han-Kim. The funny thing would be reconciling ORV's cannon portrayal of Hades and Persephone as like fun adoptive parents with Hades the game's stellar "they are divorced and estranged and their son has to die a lot fixing them" take. Honestly it's not really a dynamic I'm super attached to from ORV cannon because while I totally understand its place as like wish fulfillment for KDJ'S self insert (himself) I just find it less compelling than other relationships, especially the one he has with his mom. Would Love YJH God of Death or HSY Fury moment like yeah sounds good to me... Who would be HSY's sisters then? Maybe other versions of herself lol... JHW would make a good fury hmmm.... What about the Olympians would they just be regular? Obvi the main themes would be KDJ relationship w/ parents and how YHK helps him with that which honestly could have Vibes but you'd have to shape all the character placements around that.

This is from a lil note in one of my MANY unpublished kyle/demar fics to help keep me on point, SO if i ever DO sum up the courage and publish a fic that kinda hints to this idea, you guys WILL act SURPRISED and HAPPY at this BRAND NEW UNEXPLORED IDEA into kyle/demar lol (it gets touched upon a Lot in the kyle/demar owner player fic which is ALSO very long and WILL be hidden from the general populace )

BUT TO ELABORATE UHHHMM hmm so like

People HEAR kyle. People hear his shouting, his demanding, his AWFUL jokes (deebo: the chips are down kyle: like? Potato- potato chips? *extends pop bottle microphone closer to demar's interview*), his loud laughter, his unnecessary SOUND effects with his unnecessary physical COMEDY ( s T O M P I N. wiTH. the. BIG. boYS !WITH... *swaggers away from his made shot as demar giggles. Probably emphasizing his stomps just to make demar laugh MORE), his smartass comments to reporters ignorantly written off as friendly cheekiness by them despite the OBVIOUS fact that he HATES them (EXCEPT when it's to talk about.. DE-MAAAR!!). KYLE IS.. heard. Does that mean he's LIKED??? um. Well.

Deebo has the 'i can socialize well in small conversations and i WANT to act pleasant to others because i care for them!!' Attitude People go through where they're 'on good terms' with a lot of people but not... their Number one. Not really KNOWN for ALL that he Is. All that he DOESN'T say. Because what if people Don't want to hear it? What if people Don't want their 'perfect' image of Deebo destroyed? Marred by depressing thoughts, chocked uselessly full of silly Obsessions and Ideas. They just like Pleasant deebo.. Want pleasant deebo. So he gives them that. And represses what he thinks isn't needed. Hides it. Doesn't speak it into life. well- absolutes are Difficult. Sometimes he let's Some Things slip out. Just little things though. No one cares enough to put what he says into memory though. It doesn't make impact that way. He's content with it, he supposes. Because others are.

But. It really does feel Good being with Kyle. JOKING with him, TALKING to him, telling him all your 'silly little ideas', goofing off with him, proposing a MOVIE together, little roles they can fit (the matrix clip..), it feels nice BEING with him. Because he LISTENS. Even if others only see Kyle as this stubborn asshole who takes no opinion beside his own into account, Kyle really does Listen. He might make some snide comments in reply, but he Retains the information given.. the things said. They can hurt him, or they could make him feel Alive. Laugh. Kyle lives for pushing people past their 'Decent' boundaries at the beginning to see who they REALLY are.. the Extent of their Being. He gives them his 100% in search of 100% in return. And you can Bet Demar gives that to him plus More. Plus the moon and the stars and the old movies of his time and his dumb little dances and his musical aspirations and his bothersome interview interruptions and his Love... demar is More than willing to give Kyle EVERYTHING. Because Kyle Asks for his everything. WANTS his Everything. Kyle takes Demar's everything and makes it Beautiful. Let's demar know it's meaningful. He doesn't show it as perfectly Expected, but he Shows it. Demar tells Kyle about his rapping hobby on a lazy afternoon relaxing from another harsh conditioning morning. He tells it as nothing more than a mere Afterthought, just an excuse able comment sprung by music listening inspiration. But Kyle HEARS it, TALKS about it. He brings it up in an interview... the reporter didn't ASK for it. She asked about his favorite rapper. But because Kyle thinks about demar SO much and about EVERYTHING he says, the good, the bad, the Cringe, he brings DeMar's hobbies up. He doesn't EXPOSE them in DEPTH though, just gives them a shoutout. To let the people hear. And to let demar know he's Been heard

Demar thinks of kyle often. Feisty asshole kyle. Couldn't live without me kyle. The man i leaned down to while he was on the floor kyle. The man i told i'd be by no matter What kyle. Because no matter What anyone else thinks of him, Deebo will be there .

Because Kyle's a Listener.

And DeMar sees that.

Top 5 Vmin moments

Ok, here we finally are… This is a post I’ve struggled with for months now, and because Vmin just keep coming out with wonderful moments it gets harder and harder for me to answer this. I got an ask about this and now I AM FINALLY DOING IT! 

There are so many Vmin moments, big and small, that I love for various reasons so in this list I basically chose moments I can’t stop thinking about and that has also left a huge impact on both me and probably the whole Vmin community.

That being said, the order is not 100% set in stone I probably forgot something and really I could make a top 100 and still miss out on some lovely favorite moments. But I tried and this is what I got. I hope you enjoy. <3

Honorable mention - “I only have you”

Starting with and honorable mention is a classic, the “Let’s keep going for a long time, you’re the only one” tweet. How can I not include it when it symbolized just how special Vmin are to each other? It was also the very first tweet that made me raise my eyebrows and start wondering about Vmin’s bond on a more analytical level.

Nr. 5 - The comic café date

Now, I went with this one as a sort of representative of all the cuddly and touchy Vmin moments, because there are sooo many. But the relaxed nature of it, how natural it seemed and Jimin getting flustered at the end just gets to me. It also shows domestic Vmin perfectly, with the conversation and teasing. Seriously, I think something all of these moments have in common is that they in one way or another somehow managed to shock me in some way, despite being a Vmin fan for years, and I think that says a lot.

Nr. 4 - ISAC spanking

I still can’t believe the “ISAC spanking” is a thing that happened. I remember that day because I was free, and I just sat and got new moments after moments as people updated about ISAC. I was basically in shock that they after the sole amount of Vmin we got. But I can’t just say “ISAC 2017” because that would include at least 20 different moments, so I have to go with the spanking. You can tell Jimin wanted to rile Tae up, he knew what was happening and he loved it. He even threw the bottle again after Tae already went at it the first time with the choking... I mean, he basically asked for more which lead to the incredibly intense spanking. I am still not sure how they did this in front of the whole world.

Nr. 3 - BST monitoring

All of the moments on this list were really difficult to pick out, but I just can’t help picking this one. It’s one of my own first Vmin moments that really made me fall hard. How could I not with them being this clingy basically all the time? It might not be a huge thing or moment, but again this one holds a bit of a personal meaning, and it also showed the peak of Vmin touchiness. Seriously during the BST era they could hardly keep their hands off each other. They also looked incredibly good, so sue me for being biased towards this era.

Nr. 2 - Jimin running to comfort Tae

I mean, Vmin in Malta sure was on a whole other level. The clinginess from Jimin and the comfort and the hand holding and everything we got to see was just lovely. I still can’t believe half of those things actually exists on video. But I can’t pick “Vmin in Malta” as one whole moment, though I would have loved to. So I had to go with Jimin getting called by their staff, running up to Taehyung, his baby and hugging him tightly. Jimin’s comfort and him drying Taehyung’s tears is basically actual proof of all the things we already knew about Vmin through things they had said. It’s super private so I feel a bit conflicted that they decided to include it, but I can’t help but love it all the same. I am so glad that they have each other.

Nr. 1 -  Taehyung’ s letter. I mean how can I not pick this one as number one? Not only does it show just how much Vmin mean to each other, but it also gives us small stories and insights into their relationship. The way they talked about it after also showed how special they are to each other, how no one else not even their members would understand all the feelings that went into that letter. It’s iconic and heart-warming and just plain wonderful. It’s proof of how much they have taken care of each other and how their love means everything to Taehyung. I will never forget it, and it still makes me tear up when I re-watch it.

Phew, that was really difficult and I know for sure that some of these moments might seem a bit “small” compared to others that I didn’t include. But it really was extremely difficult to pick. I mean, I could have picked at least 3 other moments from Bon Voyage alone. And there are so many other things with them I could have picked, like them comforting each other, calling each other soulmates, their vlives, Tae calling Jimin is one and only best friend or just the two of them being damn cute together, the list could really go on forever. Still, I hope you found this fun because it was really  fun making it, even if it was really hard.

This makes a native grounded, stable, and very focused on security. The native will also be extremely analytical and detail-oriented. Mercury, which rules the mind and communication will be extremely active and knowledge, gift of gab, as well as intelligence will come naturally for these natives. Organization as well with two earth signs working together here. Virgo Sun Taurus Moon natives typically keep a calm, composed, and stoical demeanor. This might come off as ‘RBF’ for lack of a better term. However, that’s because of all that hard earth energy emanating from them. Sooo what persona let’s play me would you recommend?

Okay yes this has been in my drafts for two weeks let’s find some links!

Note: I’ve tried so hard to find female-fronted LP’s for these games.  So hard, and for literal years.  Unfortunately, I’m weirdly picky about LP’s according to factors even I can’t particularly define, and I’ve never managed to find a complete LP by a woman that I could stand watching or listening to for more than a couple of episodes, so all of these are by guys.  There is a certain amount of, ‘yup, this human is going to talk about getting the MC to hook up with every female character in the game, there we go’ that feels…far from ideal, but somewhat inescapable?  I noped out of most of the worst ones, but sadly @naderegen and I still have no executive function between the two of us and have not yet set up our own RPG LP youtube channel, so this is what we’ve got.

(Also, if any of these LP’ers are actually Terrible People On The Internet etc and I did not know, please assume I didn’t know, the youtube/gaming corners of the internet scare me and I usually avoid every comments section like the plague.)

Persona 3

This is the hardest of the three main games to find LP’s for, IMO, partially because the game is so grindy.  I have given up on so many mid-game.

This LP, by TheTwitGamer, plays through the female main character route for Persona 3 Portable.  You miss out on the cool animations from FES, and I wouldn’t recommend it as your very first time through a Persona game, but I liked it pretty well from what I recall.

There was another one I watched a while back that was not blind, but did a very good job with a full completion run while also still having plenty of appropriate emotional reactions to things, and I cannot for the life of me remember who made it or what it was called.  I think it may have been this one by The Musical Gamer?  Their P5 LP was pretty good, so whether this is the one I remember or not, I think I can stand behind it as a very solid watching choice.

I’ve recently been watching through this one by a gamer named Chronos, and it’s pretty solid–I really like blind LP’s, and this guy actually pays attention enough to have reactions when important things happen!  Have not finished it, but so far it’s quite watchable, and seems like it’ll get you where you need to go.

Persona 4

So many people loved this game.  There are so many LPs of this game.  I have tried so many of them and also not even tried so many of them.

As far as I’m aware, the classic of P4 LP’s is in fact the Persona 4 Endurance Run, by Jeff and Vinny of GiantBomb.com.  Strongly benefits from the ‘two people playing the game who can bounce commentary off of each other’ thing.  They do get spoiled for the endgame pretty early on, but the pretend to be surprised, at least, and they’re good at video games in a fun-to-watch way.

This LP by Obiwan362 is pretty solid if you want something different.  He loves Nanako, which is of course the most important part of Persona 4, so there you go.

Sadly, most Persona 4 blind LPs are from original-flavor Persona 4, not Golden (the remake with all the bonus content that came out on Vita a couple of years later).  There exists one by Chronos, the same guy from the P3 LP on the last list, that I’ve watched at least a reasonable chunk of and didn’t dislike, so give it a try?  (If there’s a blind Golden LP that any of y’all like better, please let me know.)

Persona 5

Honestly, the P5 LP scene is so good.  There are so many good Persona 5 LPs!  (There are also, of course, so many terrible ones, but that’s to be expected and not really pertinent anyway.)

The Bittersweet Gamers’ Persona 5 Let’s Play is really, really good, guys.  These dudes are so smart, and so thinky, and so analytical, and if you like my constant meta bullshit there is a very good chance you’ll like theirs.  They take apart themes and character arcs and game design as they’re playing.  Sometimes they get a little more critical than I like!  Sometimes I fundamentally disagree with their opinions or conclusions!  But they’re always extremely thoughtful about their analysis and their choices, and I respect what they have to say.  (God I wish they weren’t a pair of straight white guys from the US.  They are so smart and analytical, and they do not have the life context to understand some of the things in this game, and I legit regret that.  But from what they’ve got they do a really good job.)

The first Persona 5 LP I ever watched through was this one, by the Musical Gamer (see above for his P3 LP!), and it’s really solid.  Bonus, sometimes his girlfriend is present and has opinions and that’s great!  (Look there are so few female LP’ers I’ve been able to find and enjoy on these games, okay, I take what I can get.)

Honestly I’m sure there are other good ones out there, but look–even on 1.25-1.5 speed, there’s easily 500 hours of content on this list so far.  I only have so much time.  Practically anybody who’s done any sort of P3 or P4 LP has done a P5 one, so check out anybody you like from the above lists and see what’s what.
