#if i had to live long-term somewhere that is not taiwan it'd probably be mexico tbh #spanish has never been my strongest foreign language but it's tolerable now #or at least native speakers with low expectations have been pleasantly surprised they can understand me #my chinese landlord in pattaya asked once if i wanted to come on a 2 week road trip across the whole of south america #but a) that felt extremely rushed b) we'd never met in person and c) covid restrictions were ongoing!#however this does remind me of a very old and neglected dream to motorcycle the pan american highway #i should probably learn to scooter in taiwan first #ask #anon #answer

Got up this morning saying I'd be very happy if she made excellent, and she did! If Troj hadn't been so upset at the ground (wet grass, saturated and squishy) I think she would've placed, the judge liked her a lot better than I first expected and she has a really solid topline normally. But you can't place a dog that doesn't move cleanly, and I'll take it as a huge compliment that it didn't move her down to Very good.

Our breeder took both BOB and BOS in Veteran (Ace, who's 10 and was reared along with Sparta + his daugther who's 8) and they pulled Troj back in the ring so she could get a troupe for the breeder's competition, so that was very fun also!

#a lot of the uk judges arent used to writing critiques so they can be a bit bland #but she judged very fairly i thought. hard on head and coat #i expected troj to be a tad much for her so i was v pleasantly surprised #not ONE SINGLE comment on anyone's ears today - in my experience specialty judges are way less picky abt ears than the allrounders are #if it tips ur usually good #however: because troj is named after her dam and looks a lot like her everyone here just calls her Candy 💀

so because I was already a One Piece fan, I thoroughly enjoyed the tumblr takeover, but I would totally be annoyed if it wasn't something I was already into.

so.. I must explain. The sheer confusion and glee when I opened Tumblr and saw a 'Luffy' tab at the top. was I dreaming? was I seeing things? this is a character I discuss with friends frequently (when judging whether we are caught up, we ask one another "what's Luffy up to?") so it was extremely jarring and I cannot deny I was delighted

imagine if it was your favorite character or even just a character you know. Being an MHA fan and one day seeing a 'Midoriya' tab. Being into FMA and seeing an 'Ed' tab. etc.

the fact that it has never happened before got me. I truly believed I was seeing visions

#one piece #op #now i went into the live action with really low expectations #because live action anime adaptations have never been good imo(at least the ones i have seen)#and i was like. why are we even attempting one piece. its the worst idea #however... i have seen the first episode and i am pleasantly surprised #it exceeded my (low) expectations but exceeded nonetheless #i hope it gets renewed for the alabasta arc i want to see vivi and robin

i still think a league of their own (the show) could and should have just been about max

#may not have gotten as much attention considering that from the gifsets i was seeing you wouldn’t know she was a main character #but it’s not like it would’ve made a difference considering it got cancelled anyway #this isn’t to say i don’t like the peaches storyline. i love it.#(but also i am more interested in the rest of the team than carson and greta)#however max is more interesting. imo. and by putting those two storylines concurrently she is unfortunately going to get less attention #and the only way for her to shine as much as she deserved to would be to have her own show #EVEN THOUGH she and carson are very much equally main characters #i don’t think their stories intertwine enough though so it’s just parallel stories and like. that’s cool but it feels like separate shows #but i was pleasantly surprised when i started the show and realized that max WAS in fact as much of a main character as carson #bc id assumed she’d been fucked over on her own show #but no that was just fan response #r.txt

His trainer (indifferent): Don't be so dramatic; it was necessary.

Jason (seething with rage): They were just children… and you were trafficking them.

His trainer (indignant): I did what was necessary—

Jason (raising his voice, gripping a knife): THEY WERE JUST CHILDREN, AND YOU TRAFFICKED THEM!

Jason (finishing the story): And then I murdered him in cold blood. It was fun… I think I felt true euphoria that day. Oh, and I let the kids go.

Bruce (too stunned and upset to speak): …

Dick (whispering, impressed): Resist the urge to clap.

Tim (horrified): Holy crap, did you have to detail it like that?

Jason: It's not a good story if I leave out the important parts. Like the time I recounted how I beat you up and won, I had to include the part where I stabbed your hand.

Tim (exasperated): You didn't have to and you didn’t win that! You cuffed me to a chimney at the last minute and ran off! I forgive you though, but I won that fight!

Jason (coolly): Seems like a win on my side to me. Anyway, Ra's kept assigning me trainers who were pedophiles, murderers, drug dealer; people I wouldn't let a child around. They all kept rationalizing their crimes, and somehow they kept running into my knife, or getting in the path of my gun, or “accidentally” falling off a bridge. That’s all I’ll say about that.

Tim rolled his eyes, relieved that Jason hadn’t explicitly detailed those killings. Damian and Stephanie, however, had the opposite reaction and stood up, applauding.

Cass (with a blank expression): Jason?

Jason (worried): Yes?

Cass (nodding approvingly): I’ll allow it.

Jason (smiling): Thanks!

Duke: Can somebody pass the cranberry sauce? Also, can I go next? I can top Jason's story! Let’s just say I didn’t buy that katana; nah, I earned that!

Bruce sighed, covering his eyes in frustration.

Bruce: This is the weirdest fucking Thanksgiving, but at least it hasn't gotten worse—

Alfred (making it worse): Talia and Ra's are here.

Damian (pleasantly surprised): Oh, they actually showed up!

Bruce slammed his head on the table.

Dick: That means "God… Damn it!"

reread the lightning thief just as a refresher, and it was so easy to reimagine every single scene just as i did when i was a kid, BUT,,, instead of seeing black haired percy and blonde annabeth,,, i see the new cast now :')

#it made me tear up a little bit :')#also rewatched the movie but i would be buried alive if i were to say they were actually quite faithful to the books #bc it was an ADAPTATION = a spin to the original source materials in relation to the movie format #however #it seemed like the movie was 100% not considering a sequel at all; which is why i was always like IT'S GOOD AS A STANDALONE #and perhaps #it was meant to be a standalone #bad move on the company's part bc all five books were released when the movie came out but hey #(we don't talk about sea of monsters)#the story was coherent and 'modernized' with the use of technology #but that's for another post (not)#ANYWAYS #it was so easy rereading tlt and was actually pleasantly surprised now that i have a more coherent brain HAHAHA #it held up pretty well
