Gods are dangerous.
To give something the ability to alter all that there is on a whim, is dangerous.
To have a truly just god, it must have emotion.
To have true emotion, it must make mistakes.
To make mistakes, makes it human.
And we all know it is bad to give humans power.

games i liked in 2023 (And Other)
I like games ! You know that ?! and I played a lot 2023! and I liked a lot :). They aren't in any specific order, it's just a little highlight of games that stood out to me this year. I've attempted to write a few thoughts on each so I hope take a look. I wrote playtimes for some also but that is very subjective.
-Ones that actually came out 2023-
Lunacid https://store.steampowered.com/app/1745510/Lunacid/ I think I mentioned enjoying this in 2022 but it officially released so I can say it was one of my favorite games in 2023 :3! I like to feel around this game's walls for secrets. I like the npcs that are full of hope and whimsy despite the bleakness of its world. Chill and occasionally spooky first person dungeon crawling around moody caverns and ruins varying from underground forests to vampire castles and blood lake. (Blood lake!!!! Lake of blood!!! Big creature there.) Lots of fun weapons and spells to find, I like the one that lets you turn blood into coffins.
~20 hours
Orbo's Odyssey https://feverdreamjohnny.itch.io/orbos-odyssey If you played the massively popular demo for "Peeb Adventures" by feverdreamjohnny then you know that Johnny makes some fun and funny games and this is certainly one of them. speedy and satisfying platforming! funny dracula moments! short and sweet.
~2 hours
A Walk in the Woods https://mooncaller.itch.io/a-walk-in-the-woods Quaint little GBStudio game :) Made by some friends of mine for a jam :) It's cute I like it. There's minigames where you catch bugs and birdwatch.
~30 minutes long
Undertale Yellow https://gamejolt.com/games/UndertaleYellow/136925 I've only completed the pacifist run and checked out a neutral run so far. as the title somewhat implies, this is a prequel to Undertale where you play as the fallen human who had the yellow colored soul. This Undertale fangame has a lot of charm!!! A lot of battles really feel like they could have been in the original, with quite a bit of extra flair in some circumstances.
~10 hours
vs really cool bird https://bobacupcake.itch.io/vs-really-cool-bird you know that really cool bird that rob bobacupcake made well you can fight it in undertale and it's really fun. yeah two undertale fangames. . . wat of it …
~30 minutes
Misericorde: Volume One https://xeecee.itch.io/misericorde I wont lie the main draw for me into this was cute anime nuns I sure didn't know a whole lot else about it when I dug into it. But it's (the first part of) a VN murder mystery! And I enjoyed it a whole lot. All the characters are memorable and I really enjoy how all of them have differentiating designs. The protagonist is so failgirl. She sucks so much and I love her. I'm very intrigued by the mechanics of the game's world, it clues you in near the beginning to expect something a bit supernatural/fantastical, which gives you (and later the protagonist) a curiosity about what's real and what isn't. The music is all very impressive too, with the ost reaching past 100 tracks varying through post-rock, folk, drum & bass, and others. (Remembering when the track "Scandal" played and my friends and I took a moment to be like- okay hang on this track pwns.) Big fan of its haunting locals and how the aesthetic of the game fits them well. Also the humor is a lot of fun, and I love all the moments getting to know the different characters. Very excited to see the eventual continuation of this.
~12 hours
Absolutely Perfect Specimen https://chambersoft.itch.io/absolutely-perfect-specimen It seems like a lot of people are craving toxic horror yuri lately. Here's a recommendation. It's a VN about the android maid "Pan" and the mad scientist girl who created her. Horrifying & gut wrenching & largely about having other people define you. The art and music is haunting & poignant and matches the ever increasing feeling of dread throughout. It's yuri with the chunks. Peak robotgirl horror for those who can stomach it.
~90 minutes
Wordhopper https://kokoscript.itch.io/wordhopper Very quaint word search type puzzle game for ms dos! I think its style is very slick and that's pretty impressive to see. Chill game with nice vibes and eyecandy visuals. also it was so cool to have played this and then ended up seeing the dev's booth at Vintage Computer Festival Midwest. I was like omg woah I just played this.
~bunny
Bossgame https://lilyv.itch.io/bossgame This game is yuriful as f*ck. Delightful humor and fun character dynamics! A simple-to-understand-difficult-to-master boss rush battle system that makes you satisfied to get it right, and enticing to get just a little farther if you get it wrong. There's a lot of detail and charm to this game's menus and dialogues and win screens, I remember noticing that once you beat a boss there would be some marquee text that would pass by with some prose on it. I love how it balances its silly moments with its heartfelt moments and its high octane moments. I like the character development and revelations had throughout the plot. & I like how good the protagonists are for each other :) It's very sweet. It's hype as hell. if you want some boss rush action paired well with that sweet sweet girl's love, you *will* play this game.
~5 hours
Elly's Adventure https://bikwins.itch.io/ellys-adventure Very cute and witchy!! You are the little witch girl "Elly" on an adventure to get your toys back!! Feels like a pretty authentic gameboy type experience, it takes a lot of design cues from Kirby's adventure and the like. I am a big fan of how playful it feels.
~1 hour
Nour https://store.steampowered.com/app/1141050/Nour_Play_with_Your_Food/ This was a treat for me, but I understand that not everybody is going to get it. It's a game where you play with food(and food accessories). And that's it. It knows what it was going for. I think a lot of people were expecting something else for some reason. It's a cute little toy game and I felt satisfied with my time with it.
~food
Hi-Fi Rush https://store.steampowered.com/app/1817230/HiFi_RUSH/ Do I have to say this game is super fun? It's a big one everybody probably already knows it. This game's dopey humor made me laugh a lot and I'm not afraid to admit it.
~12 hours
WHISKEY.ST2007S https://bonicle.itch.io/whiskey-st2007nes One of the last games I played in the year because it released super last minute. Does anybody else get a rush when running a shopping cart down the parking lot? This emulates that feeling. Short game where you collect whisky stones in the whisky stone dimension because you forgot to go christmas shopping until the very last minute. it rules. It's very short you can go play it right now & get a highscore.
~5 minutes
re:curse https://devpalmer.itch.io/re-curse Discovered this one near the very end of the year also. Fun little rpg maker horror/humor game about a weird scientist lady, her butch, and an evil clown computer virus that figured out how to warp reality. I got a kick out of it. and also enjoyed digging through the game's files, which was actively encouraged by the dev, which I thought was very fun.
~90 minutes
-Didn't technically get to until 2024 but released last year-
SWOLLEN TO BURSTING UNTIL I AM DISAPPEARING ON PURPOSE https://1207.itch.io/swollen-to-bursting-until-i-am-disappearing-on-purpose People love to dunk on a lot of indie rpgs for being "quirky Earthbound inspired and about depression" or whatever. Earthbound's great. If people can nail the kind of humor and absurdity it likes to pull off while also balancing difficult topics I think that deserves a high mark. SWOLLEN TO BURSTING was fun. Bizarre and charming places to explore & distressing secrets to find. I like how it blends meander-around-the-town gameplay with Yume Nikki sort of exploration and effects. Also I'm a big fan of the music. I like how it has the lofi sound which matches the early 3d look of the game.
~6 hours
HalOPE https://starbage.itch.io/halope Another for the fans of sweet little rpg maker games that have a lot of heart. HalOPE is about an incomplete little angel wondering through worlds. Each has a theme, usually to do with an emotion or feeling, and they do well at evoking that feeling as well as its antithesis. a lot of the music is very homey and charming at moments and unnerving at others, sometimes lonely, all doing well in their corresponding chapters to further the feeling of its specified theme. There are so many delightful characters and designs in this & I found myself feeling really attached to their tiny little stories. The narrative at the core of it all hit me. If I may be vulnerable, I cried a whole lot at various moments in this game. It was really cathartic. I feel very excited for people to experience this game.
~5 hours
-Favs I finally got around to that didn't come out 2023-
An Outcry https://quinnk.itch.io/an-outcry Kind of sad it took me so long to get to this one, but glad it meant I got to play the "definitive" updated version of it. Apartment wandering RPG maker horror. Bum smokes from your neighbors and use them to save the game. I wish I could unwrap a lot more of what I like about this game than I can without spoiling too much. But if I could, I'd probably go on for too long. Let me attempt to be succinct & not giving too much away. You can tell pretty early on that An Outcry is about taking action when necessary & not turning a blind eye. What it explores about player vs protagonist agency is very fascinating to me as well, and I enjoyed learning about the inspirations for why the game's narrative works the way it does. The character Anne is such a sweetie and I love her a whole lot. This game has a very tangible feeling, this apartment complex is dirty and crumby, it smells of smoke, and there's a surrounding desperation you can feel.
~5 hours
Pigments https://punkcake.itch.io/pigments Honestly I had gotten this game in a bundle and while I was playing it I hadn't looked at the name and I just kept calling it FRUIT. On call with my friends I'd be like "hey im gonna play more FRUIT". I straight up didn't read the title screen. But it's called Pigments. You play as a fruit and you try to paint the whole floor and not get sliced by buzzsaws. Fun little arcade type game.
~fruit
Bridge, October 3rd https://lowpolis.itch.io/bridge-october-3rd Very short vignette. I like it. It's what it says it is. I'm not going to overexplain.
~like a minute
-Other Games I Want To Mention-
Pseudoregalia https://store.steampowered.com/app/2365810/Pseudoregalia/ I think a lot of people might have already known this one but I felt like it was a pretty fun 3d platformer. There were a few issues I had with it (boss fight at the beginning was frustrating, and I got lost a lot [but it looks like there's been a map patch by now, so, perhaps for some that is a fix]). I enjoyed it but sure felt weird that the only accessibility option was to give the protagonist pants. What kind of joke is that?
~5 hours
Mushroom Musume https://mortallymoonstruckgames.itch.io/mushroom-musume (Disclaimer, this game is still early access, but I saw a lot of people talking about it last year. SO I will mention here?) Haven't played much of this yet, but I have enjoyed what I played so far!! As of writing I've gone through 6 playthroughs, I feel like I've hardly scratched the surface and I've been so impressed by its depth. It's very charming, you never know what sorts of fairytale shenanigans are going to happen, and it's very cool to see how your different stats will affect things. It very much plays out like a roguelike vn. Which is not the sort of thing you may expect to make much sense but it pulls this off well. Also all the mushroom girls are very cute and I love them very much. I hope the sad goopy one who had bugs in her skin rests in peace.
~mushroom
Knuckle Sandwich https://andybrophy.itch.io/knuckle-sandwich -_- Hm. Where do I start with this one. I was pretty excited for this one since the demo and kickstarter in 2018. I felt like the demo was a hell of a hook that got me curious & horrified. As time went on, it seemed to be shaping up into something really cool. turn based combat with action commands and wario-ware-type microgames?? with a banging soundtrack?? like, count me in!! Then it released and well, the gameplay, art, music all delivered. It was very fun and engaging in those aspects. But the story… oh it just devolves into disappointing nonsensical randomness. The whole hook at the beginning seemed to be completely thrown away for the wild goose chase plot that ensues, leaving you to wonder if it was ever going to be relevant again. It felt like it had no idea what it was trying to say or do. It disappointed me that a game that has so much good in so much else about it gets brought down so much for me by this plot.
~12 hours
Rhythm Doctor https://store.steampowered.com/app/774181/Rhythm_Doctor/ (Putting this one in mentions because it is early access.) I really enjoyed the act 5 release. When I first saw this game, I kind of shrugged it off, thinking "that base mechanic doesn't seem like it will last". I thought it was basically just that one ghost shooting game from Rhythm Heaven which I Hate. Well let's just say I am now seeking penitence for my previous transgressions. It's really fun. There's a lot more to it that I didn't know when I first took a look. Also, consistently amazed by people's custom levels, I had no idea that its level editor allows people to do so much in it, I look at some levels and think "This editor seems as complex as an industry standard video editor". I'm looking forward to what they're planning next, very curious how they could possibly one-up the last update.
~rhythm
El Paso Elsewhere https://strangescaffold.itch.io/el-paso-elsewhere This was really fun & funny so far but unfortunately I had been encountering an issue with a certain level where the game would crash. I reported the issue, got a response, and there has been an update since then so I think there's a possibility that it got fixed but I have not tried yet. I would like to return to this sometime but having to relearn controls midway through is always daunting to me.

-Things that looked good but didn't get around to-
Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood https://store.steampowered.com/app/1340480/The_Cosmic_Wheel_Sisterhood/ Still don't know a whole lot about this. But there are witches, and I like witches.
Casette Beasts https://store.steampowered.com/app/1321440/Cassette_Beasts/ I haven't felt thrilled about Pokémon lately. I know a lot of people seemed to really enjoy this little monster-collecting-rpg. The style is appealing to me as a die-hard gen 5 fan. I started playing it but haven't set aside the dedicated time for it yet, but I'm excited to dig in more when I do.
Little Goody Two Shoes https://store.steampowered.com/app/1812370/Little_Goody_Two_Shoes/ Started watching a friend play this, and I'm certainly curious.. Some sort of horror fairytale but also there's yuri? Yum. Enjoyed the style and animation in the nightmare segments that I saw.
Venba https://store.steampowered.com/app/1491670/Venba/ I've picked this up a while ago but still haven't gotten around to it, but I'm eager to, I've heard nothing but good things.
Goodbye Volcano High https://store.steampowered.com/app/1310330/Goodbye_Volcano_High/ I think there are gay dinosaurs in a band and it's going to be the apocalypse? I have also heard nothing but good things about this.
-Things I watched friends play-
Signalis https://store.steampowered.com/app/1262350/SIGNALIS/ This was a pretty big one. You probably already know it, right? Watched a friend play this and I missed various parts but I understood a solid bit of it. hey. robotgirls are always getting put in these fucked up situations. have you noticed this? one time i got really high and cried about it. it isn't fair
Bomb Rush Cyberfunk https://store.steampowered.com/app/1353230/Bomb_Rush_Cyberfunk/ This one was also probably big enough you don't need me to sing its praises. but it looked really neat. swag.
-Various Thoughts-
Lately I've been thinking more about design and narrative. I feel like I haven't been doing as much analysis as I should be when it comes to games. I want to dissect more what games are saying and figure out meaning. Also attempt to see how the mechanics aid in that. I feel like most of my own work is pretty abstract & random. I simply make what I like. While that's fun and all, I still want to improve in a lot of ways, especially in having more of a theme or message. Figuring out how other games accomplish this is obviously a good step toward this.
If you saw games here that interest you I highly urge you to take a look, many are pretty short, and I pretty explicitly wanted to highlight some smaller titles. If you know me you know I like to uplift small games. (Save for the occasional big game, but that's rare these days) I think it's healthy for you to play and support independently developed & published works. I don't want to ramble too much this time about why that's important, but I hope that you might have found something you may enjoy here and if not then I encourage you to find small stuff that you would like. And I would like to encourage everybody to share their findings as well! Little games need our help to be seen and talked about! They don't have the budgets the big ones do for advertising, and advertising on your own is a whole ton of work. If you like something, spread the word! I'm sure the developers would very much appreciate that.

Red:
•His first time seeing you in goth he's a little shocked it's just a big difference to how you normally look yknow, definitely trying not to drool he thinks you look so fine.
•He's literally obsessed with your look he thinks you look so cool when in goth and he proudly shows you off when out together. (He shows you off when not in goth too dw you're he favorite thing ever and he's so happy being able to brag about you to people).
•Likes watching you do your makeup and stuff he won't offer to help because he's worried he'll fuck it up but he likes seeing the process and the before and after.
•He'll listen to the music but it's not his favorite genre. Does add your favorite artists/songs to his playlists though because even though he doesn't really jive with the music the songs remind him of you and he loves seeing your face when one of your favorite songs starts playing.
•He thinks the dances are absolutely hilarious and has so many recordings of you dancing he loves watching when he's upset.
Edge:
•Is a little starstruck upon first seeing you in goth, he's heard of the aesthetic and seen it before but seeing it in person is a treat. He appreciates the effort and individualism behind it and tells you as such.
•He actually really loves your aesthetic he feels it suits his own well and you two make quite the pair when both dressed up.
•He would absolutely help you with your makeup/hair if you'd let him, he loves the closeness and it's one of his favorite ways to show affection.
•Would absolutely let you use chalk to draw a goth aesthetic makeup look on him but will NOT wear it in public.
•He actually likes the music and he has a few songs himself in his playlists but will add your favorites as well.
•Actually really likes the dances and might even join you if he's in a good enough mood. He's a little embarrassed to but some of his favorite memories are you teaching him your favorite dances while he (struggles) follows your instructions.

howdy!! for the undertale gold au, i was wondering if we could see more of dalv? (or starlo, dalv and rover!! like the family portrait)
if not thats ok :) i just wanna see more of how these sillies work in the au
TA-DA!! Finally, after days... UTG Dalv! I Am So Sorry.
Disclaimer Corn Yaoi IS canon in this AU and for those who don't like it. I am sorry HEHEKGHLF It's too late for me to go back and I thought it'd be funny to include it. Too embedded in the lore now
You find out Dalv's backstory not through recorded tapes, but through his diary! You know, how he has one in the Ruins? In turn, Chujin still records tapes.
I actually wrote Dalv's diary entries and will be leaving them under the cut so you can all get your dose of exposition, but I'll give a summary of it below the Diary Entries if you want a TLDR!
Also, I apologize if the writing isn't very good- I tried my best to keep Dalv's character and write out what happened, but I'd probably edit a couple details if I wasn't lazy LMAO
====
SUMMARY:
Dalv and Starlo own a large farming area together where they grow crops for monsters to buy. They were given an opportunity to expand the farm, and their business by association, to the Snowdin area. Starlo was unable to meet with the people in Snowdin about it, so Dalv had to go. He was a bit nervous to do so, Chujin offered to join him! As long as he got to test out his latest project; Axis, a funny little robot. Rover, Dalv and Starlo's kid, also joined them! They wanted to visit Snowdin and play with Chujin's robot. Dalv and Chujin left Axis to watch and play with Rover while they had their meeting. But this is when danger struck. During the meeting, a human came through Snowdin and attacked Rover, even taking their hat. Despite Axis already chasing after the human and Chujin giving Dalv warnings, Dalv ran after the human as well to find his kid's hat.
Dalv did find the human... who was very injured after seemingly having had a run-in with Axis who was oddly nowhere to be found in that moment. When Dalv encountered in the human... something shifted in him. This human hurt his child, they could have taken them away... Seeing them... He felt angry. Without thinking, for reasons he can't really explain, he attacked the human and finished them off for good. In a panic, mortified at what he suddenly did, he stole the soul. He didn't want to admit it, even if this was what monsters were meant to do to humans. The soul was declared missing and Chujin was blamed; there was concern over how much damage Axis caused and the fact that he seemingly killed the human so brutally that he also destroyed the soul which they NEEDED.
Dalv decided he was going to try and use the soul for good and try to infuse its power into his crops! He thought if monsters ate them, they'd gain enough power to last against humans AND possibly bypass the barrier. He couldn't do this alone... So he ended up coming clean to Chujin about what happened. Chujin was VERY mad but figured if he helped, he could maybe get his job back. The two worked on the project and when sprouting their first soul infused crop, a cob of corn, Dalv offered to test it.
....It made him very sick.
When Dalv fell down, he had left a message to Starlo in his diary, telling him to read it after he died. He told Starlo to return the soul and shut down the project entirely. The farms are already in danger just for supposedly having some sort of illness in the crops that Dalv seemingly ate (a lie). But Starlo...... didn't listen. He felt bad that it didn't work out for Dalv and felt bad that he felt horrible about it. He wanted to do it for him. Carry on his legacy. Cling to what left he had of Dalv and what he was working on.
....But it was never meant to be.
#yeah this'll make the masses upset. post it! /ref#sock art#undertale gold au#uty#undertale yellow#uty au#undertale yellow au#uty dalv#uty starlo#uty clover#utg rover#uty chujin#tw blood#uty corn yaoi

A 2025 Recap of Kam's Fanfics
This took me all day to put together, for some reason XD But now I've got it and I can share it!
I hope if you read through all this, and click into a fic, you find something you like! Let me know with a comment (or two) if you do!
The very first fic I every posted on AO3 was "Resonance".
I had never actually played Undertale before, but I had watched someone else play it. I stumbled into the UTMV on complete accident, and was greatly inspired by the fanon at the time (early 2017). I decided to just.... go for it. Try writing a story where all the AUs I liked and thought were cool got to come together. I got to experiment with characterization, motivations (and the logic behind them), prose, dialogue, and of course narrative. From May 3rd 2017 (i only posted on May 5th because that's when my account activation was approved -- this was back when you needed an invitation and there was a waiting list) to June 30th, 2018, I wrote this story with no plan and (if i remember correctly) no betas.
"Resonance" is an action-adventure story. It's initial premise is to compare and contrast various AUs by pulling them all together in one place. If you've ever seen "Into the Spiderverse", it is a lot like that, but with Sans Undertale, and written before "Into the Spiderverse" was even a thing. It takes the '6 Skeletons' trope that was pioneered in the xReader subgenre of UTMV and puts it in the context of Fontcest and Sanscest (as well as other ships like Soriel, Papyrus/Chara, Frans, and Papdyne). It gives some passing exploration to heavy narrative tropes like incest, self-harm, major character death, rape, torture, the yandere, drug and alcohol abuse, and sacrifice for the greater good, making it a Dead Dove if I've ever written one.
"Resonance"'s greatest strength, I think, is its character depth. I think I put a lot of good work into fleshing out the 6 main characters throughout the story, justifying the choices I made for their deviance from canon and their purpose in the narrative. It's other strength is its emotional impact: I think, for a first try, I did fairly well with the big emotional setups.
Where "Resonance" falls a little weak, admittedly, is its narrative drive. This is the most obvious in the ending, which drags on a bit without really giving a solid conclusion. While the story serves the purpose I intended for it, the open ending lacks a concrete satisfaction that i cannot articulate. Even so, it is an ending that leaves no room for doubt about what the status quo going forward will be, and at the time of writing it, that was enough for me.
I consider "Resonance" to be my Magnum Opus, proof that I can finish what I start.
💙❤️💜💛🩵🧡
The next big work (skipping over a few smaller things) is my "Ebott is a Multiverse" series.
"Ebott is a Multiverse", or "EMV" is a series of fics which lend focus to various ships, all taking place in the same continuity (and tristate area).
The first installment in EMV is "The Last Laugh".
"The Last Laugh" is a 5 chapter story detailing key events for its focal relationship that take place over 9 months. From February to November of the 4th year since Monsters came to the Surface, we follow a Classic Sans and an Underswap Sans as they figure out how much they're in love.
This first fic was originally intended to be a sort of 'revenge', inspired by both a fic and a prompt left by another rather talented writer in the Fandom (if you're still around, hi again CrushingOnRazz!) I worked hard to build up to the climax of the fic, so that everything would fall into place for the most emotional impact. I think the ending ended up being one of the most impactful of any ending I've ever written.
That being said, I ended up feeling like it still needed more to the story, a continuation as it were, so I planned out the 'skeleton' and rough path for the direct sequel "Happily Ever Laughter".
"Happily Ever Laughter" is still ongoing, however, because before I could even start it properly, I had already been sucked into another fic in EMV.
The true monster of EMV is "Burlesque". For certain reasons, "Burlesque" has both a "Censored" and an "Uncensored" version. The Censored version has all onscreen erotica removed, with fade-to-black cuts and some references changed. At the current chapter count of 57 (still unfinished), the wordcount difference between Censored:Uncensored is 224,949:254,502 words (so ~30k).
"Burlesque" is a another ship fic, this time following the relationship events of an Underfell Sans, Dancetale Sans, and Underlust Sans, all navigating their polyamory, personal issues, trauma, and the subtle pressures of late stage capitalism in fantasy U.S.A.. Together, they overcome their self deprecation, the price of rent, invasive honey badgers, sexual harassment, and the strength of their own horny, all so they can say "I love you." The story begins in February of the 4th year of Monsters coming to the Surface, and extends into December as of Chapter 57 (a work in progress).
EMV also features two other ships as focus ships (with at least two more planned). One of those ships is Outertale Papyrus/Underfell Papyrus/Underpatch Sans, which has enough content in "The EMV Anthology" that I am already planning to transplant it into its own sidefic. The other ship is Dancetale Papyrus/Fellswap Sans, which has comparatively less screentime but is no less delightful for it.
Having had so much fun writing erotica, I ended up participating in Kinktober 2017 in October 2017. This was the beginning of an annual holiday (of sorts) for me, as I have participated in Kinktober every year since (2017-2024).
My complete Kinktober Archive is currently in a series. In it, I get to explore different relationship dynamics, ships, kinks, and possible story elements. I alpha-test a lot of stuff that sometimes gets refined and filtered into more serious fics. Included in (but certainly not limited to) my experiments are: Doggo/Burgerpants, Vegetoid/Reader, RottenCherryBerry (which has become a Kinktober tradition), Mafiafell/Outertale Sanscest, the closest thing to Bad Sans Poly I will ever tag, and Stretch/Nightmare (which will be mentioned again later). The series currently has over 500,000 words of kinkplay in it, with a Table of Contents at the beginning of every fic so you can find the exact tags for every chapter quickly.
I also began an xReader in November of 2017. "Welcome To The Underground" started as an experiment to see if I could write 50,000 words in a month (in an event known as NaNoWriMo). I ended up meeting the 50k goal by the end of the month, but the story was still not completed to my satisfaction. I would continue to chip at this fic until 2020, when I finished it at just over 102,000 words.
"Welcome To The Underground" is an Isekai xReader Songfic where you, the Reader character, are a young adult (in your 20s) who is dropped into Undertale's Underground. In it, you resign yourself to the fate of every other fallen human who isn't Frisk (re: to die), and only make the effort necessary to make your remaining time as worthwhile and comfortable as possible. Throughout the story, you make friends, sing songs, get hurt, get back up again, and discover that you can do things you didn't think you could do, even if it sucks to do them.
I think this story was something I needed, a sort of symbolic rite of passage into adulthood for me (since at the time of writing, I was strugging with my identity as an adult, and lacked the confidence I needed to take control of many aspects of my life that I should have already). It certainly wasn't a solution to all my problems, but I think writing this story was the start of some kind of personal growth which I have worked hard to cultivate since. Whether it has any similar meaning to my readers, I don't think I'll ever know, but hopefully a little bit of that 'just-keep-going' vibe gets rubbed off on you guys if you come on this journey with me.
One of my favorite parts of writing this story was picking the songs. About halfway through I also started writing Parody lyrics to some of them, adjusting words here and there to fit better with what the Reader character needed. The most satisfying of all parodies, however, was the true, complete parody I wrote of a Weird Al song. I am still very proud of "Sans Pick Up Your Fucking Sock" (the song).
I became a big fan of Nilchance's "ain't this the life" series, which is about the relationship between a classic Sans and the incestuous Underfell skelebros. It's a fantastic read if you're a fan of Kustard and Kedgeup and Fellcest. I mention this, because I ended up starting not one, but two fanworks that spin off from ATTL.
The first ATTL spinoff I wrote is "Ain't this a Lamia". In it, the Undefell bros find a lamia in their livingroom, and gay shit ensues.
I dunno why, i just thought that the poly would be even cuter if they had a horny snake with trauma and sass. I adore Slinky very much and hope he gets everything he wants <3
The second ATTL spinoff I wrote is "Ain't this more than Lust" In it, Red and Sans discover an Underlust Sans confidently selling himself for lunchmoney in a back alley, and gay shit tries to ensue but gets tripped up by trauma and sincerity (as of now -- I hope to add another installment to increase the percentage of gay).
I'm actually really excited to develop this story more, because i love the way these characters foil each other. ATTL Red just FITS next to an Underlust guy and it fills my heart with fluffies.
Both of these are the start of a series of the same names. The fics in them have an accumulated wordcount of ~30k each.
Kinktober 2019, Day 12, (Oct 12th 2019) is the inciting moment of my "Dr33mtal3" AU. (which is loosely, loosely inspired by, but is decidedly not Dreamtale). It's the first bit of writing where I tried to take my own idea and give it some life. Although technically i wouldn't start work in earnest until April 2020, when the first designs were made. That's why I consider April 7th to be Dr33mtal3's Birthday.
[Post 1] [Post 2] [Post 3] (These are all very ugly art compared to what I can do now lol)
After getting the designs started, i went into the fics!
The "Dr33mtal3" fic series on AO3 has substantially more multiverse content than content focusing on the isolated AU at this time, but isolated AU content is being worked on.
To delve into more of the isolated AU, I started taking Character Asks on the "Dr33mtal3" AU Blog in April 2022. Doing these asks really helps with improving my art. I have so much fun with them! I especially love when I get asks for other characters, like MadMewMew and Burgerpants !! But I do still also love the asks for the skelebros!
As for the Multiverse content, you will find plenty, both on the blog and on AO3!
Some of my finest work can actually be found in the 'Anthology' fics, specifically "An Anthology of Nightmares", which turned out to be of the gothic horror genre, and "An Anthology of Dreams", which was written with the intention of cerebral horror. They're both a little lovecraftian too, if you squint, although I was aiming for something else.
In An Anthology of Nightmares, you see what it's like to get picked up by Nightmare from many different peoples' point of view. You also see some of Nightmare's Castle, and what living there is like.
In An Anthology of Dreams, you follow along viewing Dream's life from the point of view of those around him. You start with the PoV of a Science!Sans (Sci), and eventually see Dream from several thoughtful angles!
You can also find my 3-Longpost long super-essay about Dream's house in these fics here on tumblr!
[Dream's House Post 1] [Dream's House Post 2] [Dream's House Post 3]

These desolate and unsettling anthologies are, however, only backstory for the Romance I am cultivating in what I plan as the main fic of this series: "Poignance". Although this story is only 14 chapters and 30k words in at this time (clearly unfinished), you can still follow an Underswap Papyrus into what will eventually be the slow burn epic romance he doesn't see coming.
This list is not comprehensive: there are numerous oneshots as well as unfinished works which have been pushed down my list of priorities. A few I want to make brief mention of because I like them:
"The Body Snatchers" Where an Underlust Sans starts a queerplatonic relationship with Fresh.
"A Night of Guns and Feathers" A thinkpiece about a relationship between a Mafiatale Sans (specifically the one detailed by my friend Catsitta, whom is called 'Karma') and D3!Nightmare.
"My Best Wingman" An Underlust fic I wrote for the To The Bone zine. Focuses on the brotherly relationship between Sans and Papyrus.

"Site Skin Ideas for UTMV Readers" A meta-fic to help make AU Disambiguating Freeform Tags easier to read and identify in the UTMV fandom.
"Bitty Magnitism" On of the fics I wrote when I was on a Bittybones kick, writing for the EMV spinoff series "EMV Bittybones Event" . Its about a Fellswap Sans going to a Bittybones adoption center, and the consequences that ensue.
Thanks for reading this far! I hope you found something you like!

hello I do not know anything about Undertale but I am interested in hearing about your children! I think I am in a similar situation with Little Nightmares, haha.
OMG THANK YOU I LOVE YOU!!! i can let this information out without feeling too annoying because now i'm answering an ask so it's fine !! it's going to be so long I'm so sorry, but what are we on tumblr for if not to rumble about our interests, right? also i hope the fact you don't know undertale doesn't make this too confusing !! also spoiler warning i guess ??
general world building:
the humans have forgotten about the monsters and magic, they are only remembered in myths and legends (i made a cool thing about it)
all of the humans had a similar experience to us playing the game, they learned about the monster history, made friends and eventually kinda gave up in hope to help the monsters
right so, first human: chara!
chara is already in the game, but I think i made them the richest backstory
"chara" is a nickname, their name is actually character. they were bullied for that name and they really hate it, wishing they could get any other name (like what happens at the start of the game!)
they were named character because of an old tradition to name kids based on the first word you see in the spell book that runs in their family. however the book is encrypted, and their parents ended up on a random character they couldn't read.
they didn't get along with the other kids in school, and were trying to study their behavior so they can understand them better by taking notes of what they said and drawing their facial expressions (the way text is shown in the game!)
eventually, they came to the conclusion they don't like the other children and don't want to be like them, so they decided to learn how to push them away (by making scary faces!)
always get red eyes in photos
next: patience soul! i'll be honset i wrote these stories 6 years ago, i think everyone had names but i don't remember them anymore, so all the children will now be called their soul trait gbfdjfd
patience was a girl from chara's village, and chara's only friend! or well chara was patiance only friend. their parents were friends so when they hung out patience and chara were left to play together. patience liked chara as she was home school and didn't get to play with other kids, while chara was mostly annoyed about the whole thing and felt like patience friendship wasn't genuine, as they were forced into hanging out
she really likes cute things, like dressing cute and putting on make up! she introduced chara to make up which ended up helping chara make scary faces (such as melty face look)
she wanted to be a Dr when she grows up, hence the toy knife (meant to be like a surgery knife for children) and the bandages at the flowey fight
when chara left to the mountain, patience just waited for them to come back. they waited and waited, until asriel got to the village. only then they decide to go to the mountain. they found out chara died very shortly after getting underground, and so lost their determination and was killed easily.
they got to the underground right after asgore declared war against humanity, asogre probably hoped it will take a while for a human to arrive but one fell down and was killed really soon! this just made more sense to me for why toriel left without talking asgore out of it, and why she hates him so much. things escalated really quick
bravery soul!
youngest brother of like 5 older brothers and a single dad.
his brothers always bullied him for being soft and girlie (I also considered him being afab but im not sure !)
got the worn boxing gloves his dad used to have when he was young, they have big holes and patches
also maybe his mom died when he was born, and she was also a red head like him, which is part of the femininity stuff ?
as part of a prank, his brothers dared him to go to the mountain and come back to prove himself thinking he won't go, but he did!
didn't stay with toriel because he was in a rush to get home to prove his brothers he did it
integrity!! this is where me not being a native english speaker gets me because I'm not sure what integrity means and it ruined their backstory a bit! I used to treat it as "being true to yourself" but now I think it's more about staying true to your morals, which is a bit different oops !
amab and nonbinary! their mom used to be a ballet dancer and now is a ballet teahcer
they were the only male student, and were jealous and hurt that all the girls got to wear tutus but them, and thought it wasn't fair
they sneakily stole their mom old dusty tutu from the attic and were secretly practicing in their room, until they were caught
they felt so guilty and ashamed that they ran away from home to the mountain
toriel reminded them of their mom, and how worried she must be, so they didn't stay with her
perseverance!!
kindness' little sister!
while looking for books in the library, she stumbled upon and old and encrypted spell book (yes this is the book that was in chara's family!) after a lot of hard work she learned how to decrypt it using some context clues, and with it she learned about the monsters and magic and even a few spells!
when she tried talking about her findings nobody took her seriously, and people at her school made fun of her
even her brother was trying to be supportive but didn't really believe her, which prompted her to run away to the mountain to prove everyone the monsters are real and she's right
in the underground, she was able to use her spells! like the unused spell option in the original battle menu! she also befriended Gerson as they shared their love to history, and she gave him her notebook and glasses (as they were fogging up too much to see out of anyway) as a parting gift! (maybe she also casted a duplication spell on them, considering the infinite supply at his store?)
also she didn't stay with Toriel because she was focused on getting back home to show everyone she was right at that stage
kindness!
perseverance older brother !
honestly, he's just a cutie that likes to cook! will often make and food just for sharing with his classmates
when perseverance was sad that nobody was taking her seriously, he went to make her favorite food to cheer her up. she wasn't answering him for a bit and assumed she just locked herself in her room because she was sad, so he gave her some time until eventually he decided to come in to check on her and realized she ran away through the window
he was probably a few hours behind her on the adventure, both as he gave her time, and he checked up a few places before going to the mountain, and he was more lost and confused than her when it came to exploring (also he was wearing flip flops still, which slowed him down)
didn't stay with Toriel because he was determined to find his sister, but then he found out she sacrificed herself, and decided to join her (both for the monsters and for her sake out of guilt)
justice!! she's the only one I know their name! her name is mustard !! just like undertale yellow I was tempted to call her clover based on the "clover" shooting from her gun at the flowey fight, but actually according to the file name this is not a clover but a flower! and mustard has a yellow flower with 4 petals and it's cute !!
moved to the village near the mountain with her family only recently, and this was their first Halloween in the town! and actually her first Halloween ever, as where she used to live they didn't celebrate it
she loves cowboys ! her grandpa was an actor in old cowboy films, he passed before she was born so she only know him through these films, and thinks he was a real cowboy
the gun she has is his old gun, that she got from her dad for her costume
she saw a group of bullies picking up on a younger child and trying to steal his candy, so she jumped to protect him saying she has a gun, but that didn't go very well as that terrified the small child and made them ran away. she tried to ran after them but ended up getting lost on the mountain
didn't stay with toriel because she wanted to return to her parents who must have been worried for her
lastly we got frisk!! i didn't get much background for frisk but more like a bunch of headcanons about them
probably homeless? and honestly, might have hit their head when climbing the mountain and suffer from amnesia, so they don't know their backstory either so it's fine!
really need glasses! explaining the small eyes and the whole game being pixelated and the small screen size, they just can't see
when asriel said frisk and chara have similar fassion choices he didn't mean like the striped shirt (as all children wear striped shirts) but like the way they have an under layer, cargo shorts for more pockets (also inventory space has to do with how many pockets you have!!) and boots !
fell underground the same age chara did, so like 10? and chara spent like a year underground
went to the mountain because it was some sort of a calling? they didn't really understand why but they felt like they needed to
also this is a headfanon but I'm for frisk and chara being far relatives!
wooo we did it all humans !!! now some extra general stuff:
the red soul's trait is love!!
all the humans came back to life after the asriel fight!!! and their body were fully healed and fine! Asgore probably bandaged them as he buried them in the coffins, and when they woke up (and opened chara's coffin seeing it's empty) they left their bandages there explaining the mummy wrapping that appear
considering it's been decades since some of them fell down, they had no where to go after this, and were all adopted by toriel! which also motivated her to open the school ! this idea of all of them being roomates and living together is what sparked all of this in the first place, i just really wanted to have a blog where people ask me things as them
at the end of the flowey fight, all of their soul traits "evolved", as seen with the color change when you ask for help, completing their character arc. all of them were helping flowey as part of their flaw, but frisk calling for help helped them change. for example, just as patience was always waiting to see what will happen, she wasn't trying to stand up to flowey, but she learned to be more brave and act! bravery learned to stop complying to every dare he gets and stand for himself and so on.
and that's everything i think !! if you made it all this way you get a sticker! i hope this helped with whatever boredom you were facing !
now i can stop worrying about how their story will never be out there, as it is now! and if nobody cares that's fine !!

I’m sorry It took so long but it’s finally here! Spoilers for those who haven’t reached Cold Reception chapter 28 just yet:
Part 3 of my Kuki and DLCFDTL Analysis: Unstoppable Indomitable Human Spirit Vs Immovable Cynicism
Now here comes the thought that helped kickstarted this whole thing together: the dynamic between Kuki and the delightful children. Fun fact: I actually rediscovered Cold Reception cuz of the Operation Tea fic you wrote where Kuki gets caught up in shenanigans caused sector z’s former villain. Once again taking a moment to praise your ability in turning a small spark of a certain potential into something compelling. Thus, the question of, why have Kuki and the delightful children as the narrative foils, especially when the easier decision would’ve been having Nigel face them? Becomes why not?
As I’ve mentioned before in previous analyses, Kuki and the delightful children both represent those at the brink of growing up and knowing that everyone and everything you love could change. And facing the possibility of being left behind. In response to this, the delightful children take on a Faustian deal which cuts off the parts of them that were kids because it’s safer to assimilate—to submit. Nothing can hurt you anymore if you do it it first. Because that’s how the “real world” is supposed to work.
But with Kuki? She’s the walking proof that it doesn’t have to be! I’m grateful that she isn’t “punished” by the narrative into being stoic and jaded just cuz that’s what the “real world” demands of her. I feel like Kuki, especially in this fic can be described by this quote from the movie Everything, Everywhere All At Once:
“You tell me it's a cruel world and we're all running around in circles. I know that (…) When I choose to see the good side of things, I'm not being naive. It is strategic and necessary. It's how I've learned to survive through everything (…) I know you see yourself as a fighter. Well, I see myself as one too. This is how I fight.”
Like her being happy is less abt putting up a front (tho sometimes that can be the case when it gets too hard), it’s a deliberate choice. It’s her own act of rebellion against a world that’s so against children and childhood in general. It reminds me of the kawaii/lolita counter culture where girls dressed more cute-sy as their own rebellion against a conformist society that’s so quick to assign them roles. (I can send a link to this article if u want hehe)
And fight like that she did! That mecha battle was also a battle of ideals. Hopecore vs General Hopelessness. It’s exactly why I had Undertale’s Hopes and Dreams playing on loop while typing all of this. I especially love the callback to her having hippie hop back in there. The same exact mecha that we always saw fumbling somehow. It truly felt like a full circle moment with how she stumbled for a bit but had her epic comeback. The inclusion of every single person that Kuki ever left an impression on? Especially after that devastating and kinda meta barrage of every criticism of Kuki’s character? Absolute cinema! It really cemented the fact that there couldn’t have been anyone else but her to face them.
I’m glad that when it came down to it, when the opportunity presented itself, the delightful children didn’t make that hit when they could’ve. Underneath all that noise, Kuki’s determination reached them too and their own inner children. Not to quote undertale but “Despite everything, it’s still you.”
It’s interesting that when they came to, and that by the time they accepted the offer, they’re no longer the delightful hollow shell nor were they fully sector z again. Instead they become a combination of the two which in my opinion was actually quite reasonable and realistic as they wouldn’t rlly be the same kids they once were after everything they’ve been through. This is the point where they start to grow up, in the real way. Also can I just say that the sheer trust and confidence that Kuki had in them making that decision symbolic in her keeping her nerve when Alessandra confronted her? Absolutely PEAKK.
On that note, here come the questions! What was your thought process in setting this whole subplot up with Kuki and the delightful children in Cold Reception and in Operation Tea? How did the Kuki and Numbuh Beyond parallels come to be? What about this potential dynamic drew you in? Do you happen to have any headcanons of them? Personally I have this headcanon that they actually did like working on that school play with her cuz theatre kids would drop their beef just to get a good show going Lmao cuz u would still find some sort of camaraderie with someone you went through hellish rehearsal with.
ahhhh no need to apologize! I’d wait forever and a half for asks and analysis like this! It’s all so good and I’m so very humbled my writing could garner such a response 🥹
Definitely link me that article! I’m aware of what you’re talking about but don’t think I’ve read it in depth and I’d love to read it!
I can tackle your questions while parsing through the analysis (which, again, is wonderful. Thank you so much :3 ) My thought process goes back to them both representing kids on the cusp of growing up and having to face all the scary change that comes with it, like you mentioned! Of course the part of that coming from the Delightful Children on my end is headcanon, as we truly don’t know the canon lives sector Z had before they became what they are now. But at same time, it felt like the right fit for them in my brain. Sector Z can be considered the antithesis of the Delightful Children, so this subplot felt like a good way of exploring the concept of how the oppressed comes to side or give in the the oppressor for whatever reason.
Father taking five innocent kids and stuffing them into a machine to make them perfectly obedient dependents of his is truly evil in of itself. But there’s always more layers that can be explored and social commentary that can be made and I wanted to do that.
And to counter that, it hit me at some point that it had to be Kuki who was the foil of that. She lives in a world and a messed up household that expects her to conform every day. Yet, she doesn’t. Kuki still remains happy, carefree Kuki throughout the entire run of the show.
We know that some of it is a front. That’s okay and that’s how a lot of people have cope. But that quote from Everything, Everywhere All at Once (love that movie btw) sums up exactly my feelings on Kuki.
I will softly reject any notion that happiness in the face of adversity is naïveté or ignorance. I want to argue that it can be a deliberate choice: the power you can wield to fight back against a cruel world that wants you to submit. Kuki fumbles and is not perfect, but she’s still Kuki. Trying to strip her completely of her happiness or mid-psychoanalyze it as something universally unhealthy is a disservice to the ideal we could be striving for.
The parallels between Kuki and Beyond subtly started back in TEA, and came about in what I wanted to represent in Beyond: the ideal kid other see her as and the actual kid she is at the heart of it. Kuki is one of the more obvious parallels because of obvious in story reasons and more personal ones.
What drew me to the dynamic is Kuki’s drive to become friends with anyone, even their mortal enemies haha. While the show does light touch and allude to serious things, you have to remember there’s an episode where everyone puts aside their differences for cereal. Kuki and the Delightful Children seemed to be a natural extension of that.
Besides what’s in the fics, I can’t think of any specific headcanons atm but I do share a similar one to yours. Becuase yes, theatre kids most certainly ARE like that. Speaking as someone who studied and was in theatre lol.
Sorry if this response is a bit scatter brained but thank you so much for this lovely analysis and feel free to keep asking for specifics if I didn’t cover something you intended me to!

it's so hard for me to think of what any of my personal GOTY picks might be this year, because every time I think about one of the really kickass games I played/beat for the first time this year (that's what I'm going off of btw, not release date) I then have to remember "oh right I also played Pseudoregalia in like. February. and then proceeded to play it 90 more times, including once yesterday. I think there's some compelling evidence that I might've liked that game a little bit more than this other stuff" lol
...that being said, I think my other top contenders for stuff I played during 2024 would be (in no particular order):
- Noita (obviously. I can't believe I ALSO didn't start playing this until early January, it feels like it's been way longer. funny wizard explode)
- Cavern of Dreams (easily one of the best attempts I've ever seen to recreate not only the visual style of an N64 game, but the precise FEELING of playing one as a kid and exploring for weird secrets)
- the Paper Mario TTYD remake (I ended up going for 100% on this one, it's honestly some of the most fun I've EVER had streaming a game. I've never seen a remake knock it out of the park this hard, this shit is absolutely packed full of loving detail)
- Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope (I haven't quite finished it yet but I'm confident in including it here. friendship ended with Fire Emblem, I actually just need more of whatever this is)
- Zelda: Ultimate Trial (an OoT romhack that has no business being as good as it is. I jokingly called it "the Undertale Yellow of Zelda fangames" when I finished it and honestly I still stand by that)
- uhhh sure I guess Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom can go on here too (it's not a new series favorite or anything but it was still a ton of fun and I loved collecting funny Zelda monsters like Pokemon lol. very solid dungeon/puzzle design too, a real return to form)
and I guess if you want my LEAST favorite games of 2024 I'll include those too but put them under a cut:
- Corn Kidz 64 (kinda janky and imprecise controls coupled with overly punishing platforming, a really unsatisfying sense of progression, and humor and general vibes that I just found to be kinda rancid and offputting overall)
- Penny's Big Breakaway (I was SO excited to play this one, but was really disappointed. the level design is just kinda baffling and frequently makes you waste time doing side objectives for no reward or loops you back on yourself, the controls are weird and make it extremely easy to misinput and die accidentally, and it constantly throws score/combo elements in your face but nearly every move you can do will instantly take away all of your momentum unless it's 100% perfect. I couldn't even force myself to finish this one. at least the music whips ass tho)
- Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (I've started and quit this one many times but this year I forced myself to play it to completion on my switch, making liberal use of savestates. it didn't help that much. I wrote a whole reflection earlier this year about the ambitious and interesting stuff this game tried to do and why it never quite works - I think I only posted it on cohost, I should probably retrieve that before it gets deleted)
- Dr Robotnik's Ring Racers (listen if you didn't have any attachment to SRB2 Kart before this "sequel" came out then I probably can't really explain to you why I loathe this thing so much in terms of actual design differences. all I WILL say is that I'm furious we got this, which is a completely different fucking game that's super overtuned to solely appeal to a very specific kind of highly technical player niche and scare everyone else away, as a REPLACEMENT for just getting a goddamn update to add CPUs to SRB2 Kart. it's all I ever wanted, and now because they turned that update into DRRR instead, I will never get it)
also I just think it's funny to put it in perspective here that I'm choosing NOT to put Donkey Kong 64 on this list, which I did 101% complete earlier this year. so that's the bar, anything on my Least Faves list is stuff I enjoyed less than the experience of streaming the entirety of DK64. I really did have more fun beating Beaver Bother 3 times than playing Corn Kidz. I don't know what that says about me

and also hey about that undertale ask.
in my head im picturing Diavolo as Asgore (seems very fitting.......I wonder why........)
I think in terms of personality Simeon would best match Toriel's character, but I think it would be way more hilarious if Lucifer was Toriel welcome to my ted talk
diavolo and simeon were indeed asgore and toriel respectively in my notes, but the idea of diavolo and lucifer being unamicably divorced is also really funny
i think because simeon was toriel i also had luke as asriel and then lilith as chara... there wasn't really much of a way to preserve all the casts' original relations though
BUT i did read through someone's tags on that ask and i also really like the idea of luke playing monster kid.. though this does leave a very important role empty so i'm not sure what to do there then
actually while i'm here i'll pull up my old notes and summarise!!
in one iteration wiz and alecto were alphys and undyne for obvious reasons
in another iteration levi and satan shared alphys' role and this was the one i ended up going with because i couldn't think of anything else for them otherwise. i think i settled on just having them be constantly re-countered enemies without assigning them to a given ut character instead
asmo was mettaton (correct guess by the person who left the tags!!), where his original name is 4-S-M-0 ('4th-generation showman-mercenary, 0' where the 0 represents his kill count), but ik misreads the serial code on his casing and he decides he likes it better
he starts out as a box that just rolls around and talks out of it in a really muffled voice, and then then he emerges from the box in full glorious android form later for death by glamour
he was originally a show-bot for entertainment, but then diavolo requested security measures after hearing that a human fell into the underground; instead of replacing the show-bot program, levi just wrote a human-killing program on top of it
then they started rooting for ik on her journey and tried to switch the program off, which unfortunately was prohibited BY the code, so they ended up putting asmo in the box instead. unfortunately he figured out how to move around in it
barbatos was muffet, i think mostly for the baking and tea parties angle, but in hindsight he could also be grillby
as for sans, i had two characters shortlisted: lucifer and belphie, it was a toss-up as to whether i wanted to preserve sans' personality more or his brotherly role more
as mammon was papyrus and simeon was toriel i figured i'd use lucifer for the relationships and ended up making belphie napstablook
beel was undyne, and instead of collapsing out of heat exhaustion and being given water he was going to collapse out of hunger and be given cookies
i decided to keep the "two royal scientists share the role" theme and had solomon and mephisto both share gaster's role
solomon was the origin of human folk tale about the ghost of a disappeared "man on the mountain" which was originally the reason ik ventured up there; in actuality he'd fallen into the underground
i don't think i developed the details but eventually they were both destroyed by their machine and end up observing the story from a sort of higher dimension
ik meets them after her neutral ending, and they send her back to the ruins to simeon to begin the true pacifist ending
i couldn't decide how to make that happen but i think i was going to just have her die to the omega flowey battle at the last minute? that or something else gets her when she goes to leave
she also would've heard their conversations in the void between resets
astaroth was burgerpants. i don't know why i did that but it's really funny now
alatus was the bird that carries you over a disproportionately small gap

Where my lore started
how to play: share a moodboard or some info on forms of media (films/shows/music/books etc) that have shaped you and your work
stealing this from @strang3lov3
also idk if any of this really shaped my work as it is today but i just like to yap about my lore so:
reno lore time
my first step into fandom spaces was actually bandom. i consumed A LOT of p!atd, fob, cobra starship, the academy is..., and mcr fanfic. i still wasn't writing my own but i was consuming so so much of it. and right on the family computer too 💀☠️
these bands have also followed me through to the current day (except for p!atd. i kind of stopped caring when it become the Brendon Urie show)
next came supernatural.
i dont remember how i got into it but god it was one of my biggest hyperfixations. my first ever blog on this site had a supernatural themed url (saveamoose-rideahunter 💀). i owned the first five seasons on dvd and i watched them regularly. i also watched up until...I think the british men of letters? i used to watch it and then go into my grade 10 english class the next day and have a debrief with my english teacher because he also watched.
this was the fandom where i started writing. technically. it was mostly roleplay groups and what not but it was writing.
around the same time, i got into criminal minds.
this was the fandom where i actually started writing fic. i was a hotch/reid, morgan/reid and jj/prentiss shipper. i wrote A LOT of hotch/reid fic tho. i've been an age gap enjoyer for a long time as u can see.
there's a bit of a gap as i don't remember if anything came between CM and this but, we jump ahead a bit to overwatch. i started playing a year or so after the game came out. i was a d.va and lucio main. i was hardstuck bronze for comp tho 💀💀 ANYWAYS. this was the fandom that got me on my x reader bullshit. i was obsessed with cassidy cole bc i love that southern boy. and that was actually where my old blog started. I was an overwatch x reader writer when i first made that blog.
the overwatch fandom was actually also the fandom that put me into a long, LONG writing break though. it wasn't until getting into the PPCU that i actually started to write again.
after that came a few other fixations. detroit: become human, jojo's bizzare adventure, borderlands, things like that.
im getting lazy so im turning to bullet points but. more recently, the things i've been into are:
Pedro Pascal and Oscar Isaac
BG3
Resident Evil
Red Dead Redemption 2 (i still havent played the og)
Call of Duty MW trilogy reboot
DC and Marvel comics
Undertale/Deltarune

here is a post i wrote from when i first finished omori. these are my first coherent thoughts after finishing the game
omori ending spoilers aheaddd
So, I finally got around to playing and finishing Omori. I know that ending/plot twist discussions are old news, and that the game is 5 years old at this point, but I've never felt such a strong desire to write and share my thoughts after finishing a game like this because- wow.
I knew absolutely nothing about this game going in. I am a big fan of Earthbound and Undertale so of course I was sucked in right from the beginning. I was incredibly impressed by how likeable the characters in Dreamspace are.
From discovering that Mari was dead, then later discovering it was a suicide, I honestly felt like I was going on this journey of mourning in Omori’s shoes alongside his friends. I was pretty desperate to find Basil, to the point I started feeling frustrated the more side plots we were going on. I wanted Omori to discover the truth of Dreamspace so that he could let himself go of the grief of his sister's death. But when the characters started to forget about Basil, I started feeling worried and I wasn't as sure I knew where the plot was going to go anymore
And I really did not. The plot twist of finding out the Truth totally caught me by surprise. The feeling of confusion, to disbelief, to shock, and finally to actual disgust and anger as you go through the photos was \*insane\* work by the writers. I genuinely felt disgusted and angry. I couldn't believe the boys would do that. Not only the shock of Sunny killing Mari, but especially the framing of her suicide. I couldn't sit with it. Honestly makes me kind of sick thinking about it
It genuinely left a bad taste in my mouth afterwards. I was angry at the game for pulling something like that, and I honestly felt betrayed. Spending 20 hours playing as this character sympathizing for him and mourning with him just to be hit in the face with the horrible truth in the last hour and a half
I accidentally got the bad ending first. I lost the Omori battle but then had to get ready for work, so I chose not to retry and triggered the bad ending. I knew it was not the true ending, but it honestly left me shaken to my core. I was thinking about the game my entire shift
The distaste stuck around for me. I kept finding myself in disbelief, like I couldn't believe that is what really happened. there are obviously logistical issues with the writing (I won't get into that too much though since I've seen it mentioned many times before and it seems to be personal preference whether people can suspend their disbelief enough or not) I'll be honest, for me it's a bit of a stretch because, obviously it would not work in real life. I do also understand that there is no way to get that kind of emotional impact out of the player without the Truth being something of that calibre, though. It wouldn't have been enough for Sunny to just have accidentally killed Mari. It needed to be something sick.
What I realized from my feelings, the sense of betrayal, shock, disbelief, disgust... Those are the feelings Hero, Aubrey, and Kel will be feeling. When I realized that, it all clicked. I felt exactly what the devs wanted me to feel. Because now, we as the player, who played in Sunny's shoes for all those hours, have to decide whether we can forgive him or not. The same way Sunny's friends will have to decide whether they can forgive him. The same way Sunny had to decide whether he could forgive himself. That's what made the final fight with Omori really drive home when I replayed it to reach the good ending. Can't even lie, I was crying reading Sunny's memories of his friend's while using Cherish, and reading what Omori was saying to Sunny. That fight illustrates how hard it would be to overcome and accept a secret of that weight.
When reading discussion posts from closer to the game's release, it was interesting to see people's reactions to the Truth. I saw lots of people calling Sunny and/or Basil murderers or sociopaths right off the bat and I kind of feel like they missed the point- Sunny is lucky those people aren't in Hero/Aubrey/Kel's shoes. I also think it's interesting to think about how those comments are similar to what Omori was telling Sunny, as well. I think this game really requires you to put yourself in Sunny's shoes (which, we literally are for 20+ hours) and understand from his perspective. There's the disbelief of logistics yes, and honestly I do think deep down maybeeeee the writers could have workshopped something different that would make a little more sense, but I think it would've been difficult to change it too much while still having the same emotional effect and still being overall the same story. I think there's just enough from having to control Sunny/Omori to do all types of things that most players will feel close enough to him.
I also saw comments that people were unimpressed we didn't see the friends' reactions to the Truth and........ I definitely think that was the correct way to go. There is no way their reactions would have been anything rational or calm. Think about the way we as players reacted. The point the game is trying to sell us, I believe, is that shit like that is going to be hard, VERY hard, and you're going to have to persevere and \*hope\* and believe that it will all be okay \*eventually\*. And for Sunny and his friends, I think that is definitely possible, but I do not think the original confession from Sunny would *not* have been very happy and would not have been a good note to leave the game off especially with the message it was trying to share.
This post is already incredibly long. I could go further into although I know logistically the framing wouldn't work, I DO think it's plausible that Basil and Sunny would actually end up framing it that way, especially after reading the truth photobook captions on this sub. Those kids are not okay. And I could go on forever about the rest of the main cast, both their real world and Dreamspace counterparts. The scene where they all visit the tree stump together really, really got me. They're just KIDS MAN!!!
I need to stop myself here. This game and its writing has absolutely blown me away and I am impressed with Omocat for taking that risk of making a very disturbing and upsetting plot twist for the sake of driving the story they wanted home. I am glad this didn't end up to be a more generic story and message. I will be thinking about this game for a very long time
#this game is painful in the worst way#still worth it#omori discussion#omori#omori analysis#this game lowkey sent me into a depressive episode but its okay i came out stronger im gentler with myself#indie#indie games#omori mari#omori sunny#video games#game discussion#text posts#omori ending#omori plot twist#omori something

You said in the Ralsei post that his flirting with Kris is supposed to make us uncomfortable or at least question his relationship to Asriel. I agree that Toby could possibly "go there", but do you think it's intentional on Ralsei's part? I genuinely don't think he knows he looks like Kris's brother. If someone makes Kris get into a relationship with someone who looks like their brother, I think it'll be the players fault for knowing he looks like Asriel and forcing it anyway rather than Ralsei himself actually knowingly being into incest. (feel free to answer this without posting the ask if it's worded badly)
all things considered i don't think he does. i think what's happening in deltarune is that ralsei, as a darkner, was created to play on our fondness and love for the asriel we knew in undertale. at the same time, if you're in any way familiar with classic rpgs, you'll realize that ralsei's role in the story is a direct callback to the "healer of the cast, bearer of the prophecy and love interest for the protagonist" trope (a role that was always given to female characters, tying into his gnc quoi), so being framed romantically by the story is... kind of a given here. however, those two core aspects of his, well, self, are basically incompatible. at least when it comes to his desire to be liked by kris, because being pushed into romantic situations you perceive as incestuous is, understandably, going to freak a guy out.
as you probably know, i recently had the chance to play earthbound, and paula reminded me of ralsei so much. ralsei deconstructs the rpg girl trope in general, but knowing how big of a mother 2 fan toby is, i feel like she was a pretty clear inspiration in the way he wrote ralsei. and something that happens again and again and again throughout the course of earthbound as soon as paula joins the team, is that people constantly make comments about her and ness being together. now, paula/ness is canon by the end of the game and has been confirmed as such by the creators, but earthbound as a game heavily features the topic of fatedness; and unlike deltarune, chosen ones and prophecies and dreams of future friends are never questioned by its plot, they are the plot. so, since a big part of deltarune's gimmick consists in questioning the trope of rpg fate, i wonder if ralsei's crush on kris might be revealed to be something predetermined too, going forward. after all, he spent a long time waiting for the heroes of prophecy to arrive so he could become their friend and help them on their quest. if that same "fate" determined that he was supposed to be kris' love interest, then knowing ralsei he probably accepted that fact and acted accordingly. which would mean getting into whether those feelings are actually genuine or if they're born out of duty and his submission to What Is Right And What Should Be.
the main reason i don't think he's aware, though, is that that incompatibility between those two aspects of himself that prevent him from fulfilling (part of) his purpose is a storyline that heavily reminds me of spamton's. ralsei is the most "purposepilled" character in the entire game. he is ADAMANT about reinforcing 1) his own lack of agency 2) that of all other darkners 3) the darkners' purpose towards the lighters as not only inescapable, but good, 4) the status quo of the light world/dark worlds dynamic as it stands. fulfilling his purpose is a BIG deal to him, and the story is obviously going to have an arc challenging it and sending the poor boy into an existential crisis. and him realizing during the events of the game that his literal appearence alone makes kris uncomfortable and prevents him from being the good rpg love interest character he was created to be, well... it just feels like a good way to further that arc.
#tldr i don't think he does and i think him realizing it could be a crucial aspect of his inevitable breakdown#answered asks#deltarune#ralsei#kris#incest mention#entry log#also correct me if I'm wrong but there's the fact that NEVER ONCE does he bring up asriel. queen even makes him a room and everything#but ralsei prince from the dark of prophecy fame.... doesn't ever even mention him? wrow. much to think about#metanalysis

Guess who's replaying Undertale again? I got a bit inspired and wrote a thing. Maybe I'll write something else in the nearest time. Or not.
The unknowable
It’s just another evening in Grillby's. The hot, stale air smells like a mixture of fried food, pine needles, and tobacco smoke. Regulars come here to do their regular business. They eat, they drink, they chat, shamelessly spreading rumors about each other, they play cards.
Among the latter is Sans, who succumbed to playing a game or two after much persuasion. However, it couldn't hide from the eyes of the players that he was a little distracted today, and seemed to find the far door more interesting than the game in front of him. It almost looked like he was waiting for someone, even though everyone knew for a fact he had no one who could come here for him. His brother Papyrus wouldn't cross Grillby's threshold even under threat of destroying his entire spaghetti collection.
All the more strange was this new behavior of Sans. His tablemates tried to find out teasingly several times if he'd found someone, but at those moments, Sans seemed to be his old self again. He laughed it off with such convincing indifference to the phenomenon of dating itself, that very soon everyone believed him and dropped the issue. But Sans made a mental note not to be so obvious in the future in order to avoid such situations.
Little did they know, Sans was really waiting for someone. Or something? In any case, it has been appearing in Grillby's for a long time now. It looked like a dark shadowy humanoid figure. To be honest, when Sans first saw it, he thought he had drunk something wrong. But the figure appeared the next time too, when Sans was as sober as a judge.
No one around paid the slightest attention to them and Sans came to the conclusion that he was the only one who could see them at all. That, or this mysterious ghost was more regular than Sans himself, which is very unlikely. Over time, it even began to seem that the shadow was coming for Sans specifically, although their behavior did not give it away in any way.
They always just sat by the window and looked across the room. Probably. It was difficult to understand where the eyes were looking, standing out against the general dark background of the figure, but Sans did not feel the gaze on himself.
At first, Sans was wary. Who knows what the intentions are of this weirdo? But it finally became clear that they posed no threat. They just... watched.
Curiosity got the better of him, and Sans began to visit the Grillby's more often, hoping to meet the mysterious figure there again and study them.
At first, Sans thought that they didn't appear very often, but it turned out that they come every day, just at a different time. He had to practically live at Grillby's to catch the mysterious visitor.
Over time, meeting the shadow became familiar, and Sans even began to feel something like sympathy and compassion for them. The figure looked so lonely amidst all this lively atmosphere. So… alien, despite the fact that they didn't look much different from the locals.
Sans wanted to approach them several times and ask if they needed anything, but before he could get up from his seat, the shadow immediately disappeared.
And the figure gave a sense of some kind of calmness. The longer Sans looked at it, the more he forgot his worries.
Before he knew it, Sans was looking forward to meeting this ghost, as if they were an old friend he'd never met. Or forgot. Or even knew in another life. With his theory of time anomalies, he wouldn't be surprised at such a possibility. Hm, an anomaly? Yes, perhaps it was quite a suitable name for them. In their presence, time did indeed sometimes drag on longer. For example, once it seemed that the fifteen-minute lunch break of the Royal Guard lasted for hours, but when it ended, it turned out that fifteen minutes had actually passed on the clock. And again, no one except Sans seemed to notice.
After a while, the figure began to approach. At first, they began to sit one table closer, then two, and so on until they were in front of Sans. Strangely enough, the closer they got, the worse they could be seen, and it was the harder to think, as if mind was going into a kind of trance.
When the anomaly began to set very close, Sans managed to ask one question, after answering which they disappeared.
Now, here was something that remained unchanged from the first day the anomaly appeared. Every time they left, Sans immediately completely forgot about them until the next morning. But even so, he could only remember about their existence, but not about what he asked and what they answered him, no matter how hard he tried…
“Aaand, you lost again, Sans!” – said Doggo, nudging Sans and lighting a fifth dog treat this evening – “Luck is clearly not on your side today. But hey, it's 'unlucky at cards, lucky in love', as they say.”
Love, huh? And indeed Sans had paradoxically grown fond of the anomaly in a way, even though he knew next to nothing about them.
As if hearing Sans' thoughts, a familiar figure entered Grillby's. Sans excused himself and took his usual seat.
Doggo was right about something. Sans was really lucky this time. The next morning, he was able to recall his brief conversation with the anomaly.
He asked ‘do i know you?’
And they said ‘yes’
Sans’ heart is filled with hope.

Wrote a little drabble for something with no context of anything I post here. It's actually an origin story for a private rp, but its so good to not share.
TW: Death, Dusting, Angst
He looked at his hands, the glitchy purple lines were starting to overtake his bones. He closed his eyes as he leaned against the skeleton next to him, just waiting for the end at this point. No need to collect SOULs when there won't be a place for them to go. The X-Virus corrupted the SOULs to be erased eventually anyway. He sighed.
"Inpatient or just sad?" A glitchy voice asked next to him. He looked at Error and nuzzled into him more.
"Wishing there was something to be done. But... It's really the end, isn't it Error?" He asked the other.
"Just us, Ink, Fresh, and Ccino last I checked, but the other three are still trying... I'm sorry Reaper," Error said to the other as he petted him. His phobia doesn't matter anyway now. He could sense the end of everything. "I wish they would just give up and leave. They still have a chance. Go to some other Multiverse. I can't even blame the squid for all this anymore. Who could have guessed mixing that stupid XGaster SOUL with the Master Code would have done this? It was an accident."
"He blames himself..." Reaper whispered as he felt more deaths and universes being erased. Even the Antivoid was starting to have the purple glitches.
"Stupid squid," Error muttered. A tremor shook everything around them, even in the vast nothing it could be more felt and seen.
A portal appeared as Ccino and Ink came through. Ink was carrying Fresh over his shoulder. Ccino looked at Reaper and Error. "We need to get out of here, the core Undertale is finally infected," he said. "Ink is running out of paints as well. The Doodlesphere isn't producing anymore."
Reaper and Error gave a look at each other and nodded. "Then you three need to go. What happened to the parasite?" Error asked.
"His body... Got hurt by the virus, it didn't infect... But..." Ink said as he struggled with trying to not waste what little paints he had left in his system. He showed them the dusting bones on the body. It was like the body was struggling to hang on.
"You should be able to give him a new body to claim if you jump now," Reaper said. "You still have time before the body dust and he has a limited time outside of it."
Ccino paused as he looked at Reaper and Error. "You won't come with us?" Ink looked a bit panicked at that.
"No! You guys need to leave too! I can't lose anyone else!" He pleaded.
Error huffs at him. "Reaper has the virus," he said. "And I can't just leave here. I'm connected to the Antivoid here. That's why I'm glitching more as it falls apart. Even if I go to another Multiverse, if this place is gone... I'm gone too."
Ink let his tears slip at that. Ccino had to grab Fresh as Ink grabbed at Error to shake him. "No! No! Please! I'm sorry! It's all my fault! If I never had that stupid vial..."
"Stop you fucking squid. If we are gonna play that game then I'm just as guilty for starting a fight at the core in the first place and making the vial break on the book," Error growled. "Get outta here before this place is gone!" Another tremor shook the place harder this time. Cracks appeared around them, a mix of black and purple.
"You need to leave now guys," Reaper added in.
"I can't..." Ink cried.
"You fucking squid brained fool!" Error growled. He ripped a portal that led to darkness. "Get in there and head somewhere else! Find a new home, a new us to be friends with!"
"I..."
"Come on bruh..." Fresh coughed as he clung to Ccino with what strength he had left in the body. "Isn't there a thing about respecting the wishes of the dead?"
"They ain't dead!" Ink yelled.
"Yet..." Ccino whispered. "Ink... Please. Let's do as they say."
Reaper petted Fresh since the virus couldn't hurt the parasite. "Gonna miss you bruh. Make sure you look after these idiots."
"Hey," Ccino huffed.
"Get the fuck in that portal!" Error shouted again as the cracks got worse.
Reaper looked at the three and nodded as he took out his scythe and rushed to push the three into the portal.
Another crack appeared and Error pulled Reaper back as he let go of his weapon from the movement, it landed with them on the other side and hit the ground. The three watched as cracks even appeared in Error and Reaper, purple glitches overtaking them before the portal disappeared.
"N... N... No... NO!!!!" Ink screamed as he tried to get back at the portal, but it was gone. He took Broomie and tried to use it to create another one, but he was only creating a puddle of black paint on the ground.
Ccino and Fresh didn't know what to do. Ink was kinda their ticket out of this place since Ccino had no idea how to create a portal out of here.
"Ink, bruh, we should get moving. Reaper said this place was dangerous if we stayed here long," Fresh said as he coughed. His legs were dusted by this point. He didn't have much longer in the body.
"I need to fix it! I did this! I never should have trusted XGaster! I should have never taken the vial from him! I shouldn't..." Fresh and Ccino were able to hug Ink as he kneeled there in front of the paint.
"It's not your fault bruh. Just a series of unfortunate events," Fresh coughed some more. "Shit... I'm so weak I can curse... Imagine that... By body doesn't..." His glasses fell off and a tentacle was poking out. It looked sickly and damaged.
Ink panicked at seeing the tendril. "Fresh... What is..."
"SOUL got the virus bruh. My own body isn't..." He coughed a bunch as more of the skeleton body dusted off.
"What can we do?" Ccino asked. He didn't want to lose his friend either.
"Don't... Know... Just take care of Ink coffee bro," Fresh said. With a final cough, the body dusted, leaving a weak and dying parasite behind. Ink grabbed him and held him close.
"I can't... I won't..." Ink muttered lowly. He wasn't emoting as much anymore. He nuzzled the parasite.
Ccino gave Ink a concerned look. "Ink... You don't have a SOUL for him to survive off of. I can let him share..."
"No! This is my fault! My fault everyone died!"
"Ink, please. Let's get out of here and we can help Fresh. The more we wait..." Ccino started.
"No! I can..." Ink said as he pulled out a vial that was hidden on his sash. It was a rainbow mixture.
"Ink what is...?"
"Something that might save him," Ink said. "But... Watch over him Ccino... I don't know what this..."
Ccino tried to move to stop him, but Ink already poured some of the vial into Fresh's eyemouth and brought him to his eyesocket. He shoved him in as he drank the rest of the vial down. The body seemed to melt into a rainbow puddle and slowly the body started to reform to the look that Fresh took when he sometimes stole Ink's body for fun.
Ccino watched as a pulsing rainbow mix of paints was floating in front of the body and formed a SOUL. The familiar upside down monster SOUL that was filled with rainbow colors instead of the white. It entered his chest and Fresh collapsed, Ccino catching him before he hit the ground.
"Fresh! Ink!" Ccino called out as he held the other. He didn't understand what happened. He doesn't even think Ink knew what happened. He just continued to hold the pair in the darkness.
Soon there was movement and eyes opened finally, showing both the changing eyelights till Fresh's body appeared at the one socket. "What...?" He asked.
"I don't know... Ink made you drink some rainbow paint and then drank it himself as he shoved you inside of him," Ccino said. Fresh paused at that as he tried to search for Ink's consciousness inside the body.
Emotions he never really felt as strongly before shot through him as he panicked. His body shaking as he failed to find any trace of Ink, and that's when he finally felt it. The SOUL. But it was more... His body touched it and felt the connection between him and the SOUL, but there was no trace of Ink. Why was there a SOUL? Ink didn't... And he felt the emotions so strongly like...
"What did he..." Fresh struggled to say as tears fell from the eye sockets as he couldn't hold them back.
"I can't... Ccino... Bruh... He's..." Fresh cried for the first time ever in his long life. Ccino held him close as he let the other cry it out. He rubbed his back as Fresh couldn't control the tears that fell down.
"He was an idiot, but... He couldn't stand to lose anyone else," Ccino said softly. "I don't understand or know what he did, but he did it for you. He always cared about you Fresh."
"Why does it hurt? I never felt a SOUL hurt like this before. Or strong emotions... It hurts so much Ccino," Fresh cried as he clung tight to his friend.
"A SOUL is a heavy burden," Ccino said. "It's okay. I'm here bro."
"Thanks... I couldn't... Handle this alone..." Fresh said softly as he ended up closing his eyes as the crying stopped. He ended up falling asleep in Ccino's lap.
They were there in that dark void for some time, but even Ccino could feel that they shouldn't linger here for long. But Fresh needed time to adjust. They found his glasses to put back on and now Fresh was pacing as he tried to feel the way the SOUL and Creator magic twisted around his parasite form. The SOUL was recovering any piece he ate off it, so Ink gave him a permanent body. Tho he hurt when he chomped on it, so he learned to sucked it instead to lessen the pain of feeding. That was certainly a new experience.
"Fresh we are gonna need to get out of here," Ccino said. "I feel like I'm hearing whispers around me."
"I know... I just..." Fresh took a spray can and shook it before spraying some paint in front of him. A mote of light appeared, lighting nothing, but something shone in the void. Fresh was confused and approached it until he saw the scythe. "Reaper's scythe..."
Ccino walked over and gave it a look as well. "It must have followed us when he..."
Fresh held it in his hand and felt a pulsing from the handle. He worked off instinct and let his magic flow, he pulled a SOUL out. It was Reaper's SOUL. "He..." He looked at Ccino, his glasses shooting off the word IDEA!
"What?"
"I'm gonna make a new world! Bigger! All together! A brand new core verse so I can bring everyone back!" Fresh said. "One world with every au mixed together somehow! I'm gonna bring them all back Ccino. Starting with Reaper and his SOUL! I can do it!"
Ccino smiled and hugged Fresh. "Then let's do it. I'll help watch over everything just like I've always had."
Fresh grinned and held the precious SOUL in his hand. "I'll start off with him. I'll create a new way to do things this time. And bring back everyone together where they can be happy too. Not following the same thing everyone else does. No more Undertale, Underfell, and all. This time..." His glasses were filled with stars. "It's gonna be different." He put the SOUL and scythe away and pulled out his spray paints to get to work.

Why Chara Undertale is a Muse of Time
From the dawn of 2009, it has been the Homestuck's duty to assign characters from different media a title from their RPG-inspired typology system. Although it is full of holes, has little cannon info, and can be interpreted in so many ways it is honestly pointless to argue about which character is which Classpect, it is my duty as not only a Homestuck, but as a Tumblr blogger to assert that my interpretation is right and that everyone else is wrong.
So here is why Chara is so obviously a Muse of Time, it is actually atextual to suggest any other classpect.
First of all, Toby Fox is a Homestuck fan. He read the comic, he wrote a comic, and he made music for the comic. Therefore, it is not unthinkable that we can look to Chara's design, and dialogue, for clues for their classpect.
Chara was inspired by the Cherubs. The red cheeks, their Al-like speech patterns, their green shirt, their focus on absolutes, the way they were briefly a part of an entity that fought with itself, they have a sibling relationship with someone who is very much their opposite (at least at the time,) it is all very much Cherub inspired. This will be important later.
Secondly, let's look at their ideology. Aspect is the themes that follow you, which informs how you see the world. Chara is very much focused on power. They want all of it they can have. They define themselves by it, and the chase for it. They are noted to be very efficient and particular in how they pour their water, and it is not a stretch to say they keep these traits are probably a key part of their personality. Additionally, they are surrounded by death. They die, cause the death of another, and are only encountered in the route where you kill everyone. You only see them in sepia-toned flashbacks of the past otherwise, or if you believe in the NarraChara theory, narrating the present, using their words to define how we experience Undertale in the moment. Yeah, this is a Time-bound character no doubt.
Thirdly, let's talk about their role in the story. This is what defines their class, and is the tricker part of classpecting. Chara is defined by absence. The fact that their name is actually their name, not Frisk's, is the twist at one of the ends of the game. They are only vaguely alluded to by those that know them, and they don't have a voice bite. We only encounter them in a route where they are pushed so far we don't know if their personality is what we see, and it's at the end of the hardest route too. It would be easier to say Chara is a complete non-character, except...they are the reason the game happens. Their choices indirectly lead to Asgore causing the war, which directly impacts every character in the game. They impact Asriel so much that he is only saved when reminded of them. In fact, much of Asriels/Flowey's actions are defined by Chara's impact on them, and Undertale as a story would have to be completely rewritten without them. Hell, if you believe in NarraChara, they are the narrator. Imagine playing Undertale without the iconic narration! This is all a dead ringer for the Muse class. They are the indirect, most passive, almost absent character that ends up impacting absolutely everything.
Chara is a Muse of Time, baby.
(Oh, and about that cherub stuff? The only two Classpects of the Cherubs we know are the Lord of Time and the Muse of Space. The Lord has iconic red cheeks, and the Muse becomes the Narrator in half of the epilogues. Checkmate, atheists!)
If you read all of this, I just want to thank you for your time. I love this place, and I am glad to finally be here and maybe make some friends on this cursed webbed site. Just remember: I am always right, even in subjective matters. Bye!!!!!!!! <3
