I wanted to add some context for Taz Skylar being added to the pro Israel list as the linked tweet doesn’t provide much information; regardless of how this is viewed, I think an overview of events is needed. He was raising money for charity on New Years Day via Instagram by doing a half Ironman triathlon challenge in Tenerife. He chose Red Cross+Red Crescent as he wanted to primarily raise money for migrants there and they have a hand in supporting them, which was mentioned in one of his Instagram posts. Over the course of the day while actively doing the challenge, his parents were handling his social media accounts and flagged with him that followers were pointing out that Red Cross is run by the British government and directly supports Israel; clarification: they’re an independent humanitarian organisation as part of the ICRC and IFRC which operates under a neutrality clause defined by the Geneva Conventions, with a presence in both Israel and Gaza for decades prior to the war. He mentioned a few times via live videos that he wasn’t raising money with the war in mind, but followers continued to ask about his stance on the war and to choose a different charity. He put up some explanatory posts both on Instagram and Twitter which were on the side of neutrality; as he was inevitably inundated with negative comments on these posts, he disabled comments but these spilled into unrelated posts which is how the blocking started. The posts were later deleted and he temporarily locked his accounts until fairly recently.

Back to the ask, can you please link me to the comments he made? Because right now the only one I can find is him saying that having "different views" is ok and I can't find anything where he has a neutral stance. From the information I've got, it sounds like "people were being mean to me for picking a charity which also supports Isr*el and not picking a charity that only support Palestine." Also, the fact he posted the statement on "having different opinions" and not speaking up on Palestine when he's aware the the genocide is very telling but I hope I'm missing something.

Old swiftie here. I'm so over Taylor shading Joe. Like, I've always defended her because she, as an artist, is allowed to express herself and sing about her life, but she's literally just been taking cheap, coordinated shots against him for months now and it's just ugly. Who r u voting for?

I've been pretty consistent in saying it doesn't matter who anyone votes for as an individual, the ballot box is not a place of revolutionary activity and we should focus our efforts elsewhere. That said, my state does mail-in ballots, so I still fill them out and send them in since it doesn't take much time or effort for me.

There will likely be four left-wing candidates on the ballot in my state: Jill Stein with the Greens, Cornel West as an independent, Claudia de la Cruz for the PSL, and Rachele Fruit for the SWP.

The SWP are Zionist Trotskyists, so I won't give them the time of day.

I voted PSL in 2016, but since then there's been a lot of shit going on with them and despite the fact that there's a lot of good people working with them and a lot of good local branches, I can't support them on a national level until they get their shit together. Their treatment of women, transgender people, and people of color needs to improve. There was a great article written in 2021 by a Maoist group on the issues within the PSL that I'll link here, and while I don't agree with their conclusion that the PSL is "fundamentally reactionary" and that collaboration with PSL groups is useless, their criticisms are still worth reading.

I voted for Howie Hawkins in 2020, but I've never been a fan of Jill Stein due to her pandering to anti-vaxxers and alt-med types. She's a doctor, she should know better. She's helped push a lot of anti-science misinformation on the left, and while her platform is far better than any of those from the Dems or Republicans, I still can't forgive that. Science-based medicine is one of my sticking points.

So that leaves Cornel West. He's not a communist, and I'm not a fan of his religiosity, but his platform is still solid and I like him the best out of these four candidates. Again, I'm not doing this because I think he can win. The only way he could possibly win is if Harris, Trump, RFK Jr., Jill Stein, and whoever the Libertarian guy is this year all die a week before the election, and even then, it'd probably be a toss-up between him and de la Cruz. My vote for West is purely to signify "hey, there's people here who want what Cornel West is offering". In that sense, I'm treating the presidential election more as an opinion poll than anything else.

So, I haven't posted anything regarding the Noah Schnapp situation on my blog before. I speak up for Palestine and I speak against Zionism on a daily on my socials and in my community. However, as a mostly anonymous Stranger Things blog, I always felt a little off about suddenly posting about the genocide of an entire group of people amongst fanart and fan posts (personally for me it'd feel incredibly performative).

Do I still ship Byler? Yes. Stranger Things has been my special interest for nearly 7 years and I love the show and its characters with my entire being. I will continue to post and write about the show and Byler. However, I do not condone anything Noah Schnapp says or does and I never, ever will. Will Byers as a character is not Noah Schnapp; I will only ever post of Will, never anything supportive regarding Noah himself. Additionally, I definitely understand all the people I see on here declaring they're taking breaks (indefinite or otherwise) from the fandom/Byler. I wish all of y'all who make that choice the absolute best. I know many fans want Will to be recast, but due to the fact multiple others involved with Stranger Things are Zionists, I doubt it will happen. Pirate season 5, if you can. I mean... I'm sure the Isekai trope will work again."

Not only that, but like over all it feels like rather than looking and seeing this game and being able to "laugh with" Minecraft fans (side note: I wouldn't mind Minecraft being comedic, admittedly, a block world is a fucking ridiculous concept. But, I'd still say keep the same sentiment that the game has which is, "You can build your own version of the world from the ground up, you are the master of your destiny") they're looking at it like that one mom from that AITA post and saying, "This is ridiculous and childish. Why do you like this? It's stupid. It's just some game about blocks."

I'm not gonna sit here and pretend that fans can't be picky about videogame movies/tv shows at all. Because I enjoyed the Mario movie, despite some fans hatred of it. Nunya I feel like I’m losing my mind. Horrible acts that have been caught on tape, BY HAMAS, uploaded to the internet, once again, BY HAMAS. Syrians desperately trying to show the world that most of the videos in “Gaza” are actually videos of Syrians. Yes more artists should speak up, not just Taylor. Billie Eilish should speak up. Olivia Rodrigo should speak up, Miley Cyrus, Beyonce, Halsey, Lorde and more should speak up for Palestine. Taylor Swift is one of the biggest names in the industry, if not the biggest and one word from her and her thousands to millions and billions of fans will show their support for Palestine and demand a ceasefire. Like I don't know how else to explain how vital it is to use your voice as an artist and a huge platform as Taylor has.

People saying "she's not an activist" as if that justifies her silence. she's pretty much the most powerful non-politician on the whole planet right now. i get the discomfort, but who doesn't use their power is complicit.

She specifically made Miss Americana to tell her fans she would use her platform and voice to speak out more on important issues. She has done nothing. At this point I wish Miss Americana was never made, and I'm pretty sure Taylor wishes she never made it as many of her fans are disappointed in her silence throughout the years.

Taylor might not be a Zionist but we (her fans) need to know what side shes on. Not speaking on a genocide that's happening is never ok even if she has been donating privately. Like any fandom, there are some who strongly dislike who Austin is dating rn, but with Austin's fandom, I get the impression that it's more so who they think Kaia is that they don't like. I don't get the impression that they're against Austin dating ANY woman, I just don't think they like him dating her.

Some fandoms out here can get real territorial and don't even want the guy dating anyone.... (like Chris Evans' fandom for example lol 🤭) and that's usually because the actor stayed "single" in the public eye for way too long, so now, when he does start dating someone seriously, his fans don't know how to handle it lol 😅

I don't get that impression from the Austin fans. Most fans were already used to him dating Vanessa for years, so it's not like they don't want him to date anybody.
