GRAAAHHHH I HAVE TO TALK ABOUT THE MINECRAFT MOVIE I HAVE TO I HAVE TO!!!

(Small disclaimer: I don't blame any of the underpaid and overworked writers & animators. They deserved better than this slop, I'm sure of it.

like the general public, I too despise the trailer. Let me just start with the trailer itself.

1.) Love how you can tell where the fucking green screen is. /sarc. Also the line "This guy is such a toolbag" they give her feels not only millennial, but fucking stupid jesus christ. You could've made a block joke there like. "...This guy is such a blockhead." "Yeah everything's made of blocks here." Or something AT LEAST TRYYY GUYYYSSS...

2.) The artstyle I know everyone talks about it but the FUCKING ARTSTYLE OH MY GOOODDDD IM DYING why has literally no one talked about the wolf though LIKE???

why is the wolf's body literally discord shaped. Why is Built like That. What the fact did they do to you??? Like, I just... I hate the combination of the realism and the blocks like??? JUST MAKE IT FULLY BLOVKY???? WHAT THE FUCK IS THIIIISSSSS GOD it's so fucking uncanny I hate it. I hate it so.

3.) Love the whitewashed Steve /sarc. Fr though, are we surprised? I hate that Jack Black of all people is playing him like guys that was a joke people was making. Are y'all able to understand jokes? Or understand what a pos Jack Black is? Jesus fuck gamers he's not only ableist (supports Autism Speaks) but a zionist as well. But besides that Steve feels like. Hold on.

Look at Steve. If he actually existed in the real world, I have a feeling he would be muscular (because he mines, builds, + farms like all day), and probably somewhere around his 20's-30's. You're telling me that Jack Black, an actor + musician who's in his 50's. Like, this isn't to say that Steve wouldn't have some tummy fat at all, he probably would! But like... Jack Black just doesn't... feel like Steve at all. Jack Black is like the exact opposite.

There's just like this... massive, icky vibe about the entire trailer that makes me hate it. I think it's a mixture of the live action "isekai" shit with the like... blocky textures that makes everything uncanny and gross to look at. And it feels like rather than taking the concept and saying "Hey, since the experience is so varied, let's take multiple characters and storylines and take proper care of each to tell a different story of the same game" (like Fallout the Show) they're just like, "Eh... I mean... I'm sure the Isekai trope will work again."

Not only that, but like over all it feels like rather than looking and seeing this game and being able to "laugh with" Minecraft fans (side note: I wouldn't mind Minecraft being comedic, admittedly, a block world is a fucking ridiculous concept. But, I'd still say keep the same sentiment that the game has which is, "You can build your own version of the world from the ground up, you are the master of your destiny") they're looking at it like that one mom from that AITA post and saying, "This is ridiculous and childish. Why do you like this? It's stupid. It's just some game about blocks."

I'm not gonna sit here and pretend that fans can't be picky about videogame movies/tv shows at all. Because I enjoyed the Mario movie, despite some fans hatred of it. I can't ignore the fact that videogame movies tend to be 50/50 on how fans will react to them. But still, really? This is what you guys have to show after 10 years? This is what we get? It feels like a punch in the gut, dude. I hate so much. I can't stop thinking about it.

You know since you say that Clutch defended Em after being unfairly targeted by an opposing team and I bring up if dorms for competitors allowed mixed team sharing like say a Blue and Yellow team sharing a room. So imagine the two sharing a room, also I feel like a scenario of people like competitors (except Nell, because Em feels comfortable telling her) and even gladiators being in disbelief that the two are dating and they're like "Nah, I'm sure you're just friends?" while they're literally like doing you know smut stuff and yeah what am I even talking about anymore

BUT THAT IS VERY INTERESTING! A definite difference from the classic trope where everyone except for person A and B knows or believes that they are in a relationship but it’s good and really believable!

I wonder how much backlash they would get however, like I know that time or age doesn’t exist in mcsm. there’s no exact date. It’s a constant cycle of day and night and day and night and so forth but imagine if the games had begun in the 1800s. Age doesn’t exist so it’s a constant torment lasting hundreds for years of people desperately fighting and mining to go home.

The portal is constantly churning out new contenders who are welcomed into this new hell, but then suddenly in the middle of the crossfires there’s a pair of lovers who managed to find salvation in the middle of the chaos.

Ohhhhh now im thinking about this awful twist that also gets inspired by e8. What if Hadrian had heard the news of the mysterious new lovers and decided to come to Clutch, asking her if she would be interested in a role for the Gladiators. Of course, Clutch is eager to join because the Gladiators are constantly idolized in the Games. They are privileged. They get to have free food on the table while everyone has to scrap for bits. They have power. But becoming a gladiator means leaving her love behind. Ultimately, Clutch chooses to become a Gladiator and leaves Em behind in the dust.

That forces Em to pick a new partner and whaddya know, it’s Nell. Later in ep8 when she betrays Nell, do you think she was thinking of her and Clutch as she mined the block? Do you think. that. she. felt the same emotion of betrayal and heartache as Nell did in that moment. I’m sorry I’m just— 😭😭😭😭 YOUVE GOT ME SO INVESTED IN THIS EJDJFKFK

Updates and a Theory

anyway hi guys, sorry i abandoned this blog, but yknow, ive gotten into other things recently, plus school and family drama has NOT helped, but yknow.

anyway, i got back into mcsm, and ill update this blog a lil, to start out with a theory!

a theory about a certain redheaded, abandoned girl

I was talking with my bae today, and we were talking about MCSM’s Episode 6, and she linked me a thing that said Telltale thought out this episode a little more than we think, and I realized something

I THINK Cassie might be self aware. Meaning I think she knows she’s in a game, an infinite loop.

Think about it: To add to a few posts about her behavior that she literally set up a LOAD of traps and somehow miraculously ‘estimated’ every person doing this and that, it must’ve taken her a LONG time to do all this.

She literally built a HUGE mansion, that is RIGGED with traps, mechanics, secret passageways, you name it.

She managed to get ALL These traps WORKING, first of all. Obviously this is GOOD redstone. VERY good redstone. You’ve gotta be an EXPERT at this stuff. Even if you were, it’d still take a while to set up EVERYTHING in the RIGHT places. Not to mention dig out those massive caverns we see in the damn game.

She trained a cat, as mentioned in this post. And that HAS to take a long time. 

She made a COSTUME that needs to make sure you can MOVE in it, be athletic in it. FIGHT in it. Not to mention she needed to make sure she could GROW a RARE, WHITE pumpkin that she could FIT her head in and make it last a long time.

But the kicker is the traps. She KNEW where everyone would be, right? How?

“But Rose! If she was self aware, why wouldn’t she just take the flint and steel from Stampy?”

That’s the thing: She never finds out Stampy has the flint and steel. She only knows YOU do cause she saw it before. That’s why she makes the fake portal, to lure YOU, Lukas, Petra and Ivor down to the trap and try and pry it from your cold, dead hands.

It also explains WHY she thinks she has to kill everyone for the damn key in the first place. Obviously, she was an old builder, based on Hadrian’s, Mevia’s and Otto’s reactions to you pulling out the White Pumpkin instead of the Redstone Heart in episode 8. So she’s very smart. She obviously would’ve asked at first for help.

But she didn’t get it. Because the Youtubers said NO. And uh, I don’t know if you guys noticed, but the Youtubers obviously weren’t friendly and willing to help a random stranger, especially if they ask for a RARE ITEM that even THEY’RE looking for.

They denied her.

Which is why she thought they needed to be dead if she could get home.

“But why wouldn’t she ask YOU?”

Think about it. Every player is different, and not everyone wants to go the SAME ROUTE.

What if when she asked, she got a MEAN, SELFISH Jesse?

Who said NO?

She obviously lost hope to make friends, to have them HELP HER.

And she thought that one thought. You want something done right, you do it yourself. 

It also explains why she likes Winslow better than anyone else. At least when she TRAINS him, HE helps her.

The first time she realized she was in a loop, everyone had forgotten she asked obviously. She was confused about it at first, then she got it. It CLICKED when she saw you come through again. But it’s been done so many times, we don’t actually see her ask for help. She already knows your answer, and thinks “Okay, that’s it.” At first, of course, she probably got stuff done slow and wrong, but she quickened up, remembered her pace, remembered the steps.

Realize this: It takes you five episodes to get to her. That’s a little time, but not much. She needed to get shit done FAST.  And as mentioned before, building a mansion rigged with functional redstone traps and features, digging out caverns, training a cat and making a perfect working costume with something RARE isn’t exactly something you can do quickly. Unless you already remember your steps and materials.

Plus, the end trap when she ‘falls’ into her sand trap. She got out somehow. Which obviously, she knew if someone would’ve walked on that trap, she wouldn’t want them getting out.

There had to have been a connecting corridor for her to escape. She HAD to have known no one would activate that ONE, SPECIFIC trap so that she could escape. Or else, she would’ve died if she didn’t know.

However, you’re basically a cubey version of Frisk from Undertale. She can’t predict what you do, so that’s why she’s anxious and jumpy at times around you, she doesn’t know what you’ll say, how you’ll get through everything. Undertale made a good point with games. Characters can’t predict your actions, if you’ll kill everyone, be nice. This includes Dishonored as well, no one can predict your actions, the ingame characters are just less aware. 

Basically, what I’m saying is Cassie deserves more recognition than she gets other than “just a killer/crazy person.”
