ICE-E real?!?!?
So… ICE-E has an undeniable presence in Deltarune, mainly as a mascot for a pizza chain. He even has magazines, movies, and even could be a… Cryptid? There are many, MANY Deltarune theories, and ICE-E has been unfortunately overlooked by the fanbase as a whole. Probably for the sake of their "sanity", because this rabbit hole goes way deeper than any of us could imagine… And as a person who isn't "sane" to begin with… I'm qualified and willing to delve into this madness and answer the question… Is ICE-E real?
Now before we speculate, here's a disclaimer. Only 2 chapters are out right now. So even if there's a lot of evidence and puzzle pieces, it's still not the full picture. But let's try to collect as much info as possible with what we have so far…
In chapter 1, there's the "ICE-E's Pezza" restaurant next to QC's diner. I know there's an ICE-EE body wash in Kris's bathroom, but I'm not sure if it's relevant in any way. Anyways, once you walk inside, it's a standard pizzeria with a huge, hulking blue entity at the counter. He is known as "The Warrior". Dude is pummeling pizza dough like no one's business. And you'd think he's wearing a mascot costume… But according to Toby, he isn't. Interesting. We'll get to him later. To the right of him, there's an…
Oddly bloody piece of dough, which could just be sauce but I'm covering all my bases here. His dialogue is odd… But it seems irrelevant.
Outside the building on the left, there's Burger-sorry... PIZZApants in a mascot costume. When you interact with him, he seems unwilling to chat and talks to us when he eventually recognizes Kris. After talking about Asriel, (I'm aware of how relevant he is, but he's not the central topic at hand). He mentions that "ICE-E's Pezza is hell." And to "enjoy your freedom, while it lasts."
While this could be Pizzapants complaining about his job, "hell' is mentioned by Jevil; a Darkener that is strongly implied to be connected to Gaster. Once you defeat him, he has this to say: "Soon, the queen returns… And hell's roar bubbles from the depths." While this is 100% about the Roaring and chapter 2's boss, Queen…
It's strange that the specific word "hell" is chosen here. And Burgerpants even says the word "freedom". A word that is intrinsically tied to the secret bosses who are connected to Gaster... On the right side is a pudgy purple mascot. It's a funny Five Nights at Freddy's reference, but I have a sneaking suspicion that they might be more important than we think. No one knows who they are, and Burgerpants isn't even sure if they "even work at ICE-E." Very odd. But wait! There's more!
When you go to Town Hall, Politics bear talks about the purple mascot trying to give him a briefcase and possibly even sneaking into the Mayor's office. According to Halfbreadchaos in their own ICE-E video, this particular item is connected to Gaster. I don't think they're Gaster himself, but this purple guy is definitely working for him. Another very, very interesting lead is the word "nightmare". It's something Jevil says after defeating him…
"A nightmare will awaken in your hearts."
And when you have a FUN value of 56 or 57 in Undertale, the ICE-E crossword puzzle Sans (another person connected to Gaster and Deltarune) asks you to solve now has a weird snowman character on it named: "Nightmare". A certain [number 1 rated salesman 1997], also mentions hell and oddly enough… Pain. Which segues us into…
Chapter 2:
In chapter 2, Spamton says "WAKE UP AND TASTE THE PAIN" during the Spamton NEO fight. Weird. It's also a flavor in ICE-E's Pezza and in the Goner maker. It's even mentioned by a dialogue placeholder in Undertale:
("La la. Wake up and smell the... Pain").
Speaking of dialogue...
One of Spamton's famous phrases is:
"Too many vacation days?!? Take a goddamned vacation straight to hell!!"
Like I mentioned before, "hell" ties back to Jevil and ICE-E. Not to mention that the quote parallels Burgerpants. "I can't go to hell, I'm out of vacation days." I'm not sure what their connection is… I guess I'll have to wait for future chapters to clear things up.
Plus, you can steal an ICE-E statue in Noelle's room. It's definitely ICE-E, but mixed with apparently... Something else. When you and Kris put it in their room, the narrator implies that. Wasn't a good idea. Now, back to "The Warrior." Since I said we'd talk about him later. He ends up in the hospital and his hands are bandaged due to a "pizza-related injury"…
Huh... Hands…
It's probably nothing, and could be a joke… But isn't it weird it's JUST his hands? It's strongly implied that he's a fighter… I don't think burnt hands would really affect him. Plus… Hands are connected to Gaster. "The man who speaks in hands'', the odd spacing in "TAKE IT IN YOUR HANDS." Hell, the wingdings typeface even HAS hands as letters!
(Editing me here: I forgot something else! There's a typing puzzle where you have to spell… Oh god. Giasfelbhreher. I don't know how I was able to spell that first try. Apparently it's ICE-E's catchphrase and it's a word featured in that crossword too. Once you solve it. It glitches. None of the other puzzles do that... It's a minor detail but.. We'll keep this in mind.)
There's no denying the connections here… Even if it seems insane. Now before I continue, I'm gonna get on my soapbox and say... Insanity as a concept just stigmatizes people who experience psychosis and similar things in my opinion. While yes, your mental health can decline and it is important to take care of yourself... I think sanity is just a metric used to shame people and ostracize them. All ideas are welcome, no matter how out there they may seem!
Except maybe Kris being the Knight. I disagree with that, but ultimately it's Toby's decision whether that becomes canon or not. Or Toriel being homophobic because. No. Just. No.
Now back to ICE-E. Remember the movies I mentioned before? Once you return home and Susie ends up staying at Kris's house, she lists horror movies. One of which is ICE-E: The Movie. Wait. Why is there a pizza mascot in a horror movie? Well…
Spamton Sweepstakes
Before we talk about ICE-E and his weird cryptid vibes… I have to mention how insane the Sweepstakes really was. I thought it was just a charity event, but as we all know there were 26 hidden pages on the website.
26!
Toby.
You madlad. I know he didn't release them all at once, but the sheer amount of lore packed in these pages blows my mind! From the chapter 3 leaks to lore about pretty much everyone in the main cast (except Ralsei), it was crazy! But I'm not here to talk about all that… I'm here to talk about the funny ice cube man. Being. Thingy? ANYWAY.
When you click a fake ad on ICEE sightings, you're redirected to a very, very interesting page. It tells us a story about a young Noelle freaking out because she swore an ICEE pizza box winked at her. Dess burns it, and Asriel buries the remains. Which has some. Weird implications. But that isn't the strangest thing on this site. There's an ad that leads to a secret page with 16 cupboards…
16…
6…
Huh. An interesting.
Coincidence.
26 pages, 16 cupboards...
Now back on topic.
There's a few items you can find here. A Ralsei plush, a snippet of the wikipedia page for Super bad and a weird chair that glitches when you interact with it. When you click it again, there's a small chance that a pair of pink and yellow eyes jumpscares you. The same eyes that DEVICE_FRIEND has.
However, that's not what I'm gonna talk about in this video. I'm here to talk about. A gumball machine? Well, Spookydood's video (link in the description) has brought to my attention that this image isn't a stock photo.
It's an original image that has been photoshopped together. Which is weird, right? Spamton even references it. "THOSE [chewed up gumball wrappers]". You know where you can find a gumball machine? ICE-E's Pezza. And I bet that the machine being photoshopped has some significance. Omega ICE-E might be a possibility, but I got my own interpretation. Now that we have the evidence on deck and a topic at hand, let's start theorizing!
Theories and Speculation
Alright, now to take all of our evidence and see what conclusions it gives us.
1. The gumball machine indicates there's some photoshopping element to ICE-E. I don't think it's just a hint to Omega ICE-E. No. I think that ICE-E can also shift his form, like how an editing program changes an image. Remember that statue? And the ICE-E sightings ad? It seems like this guy has many forms and the mascot version is a form he chooses to be more presentable. Considering Gaster's overall presence in the narrative, I think that Gaster is the one that helps ICE-E change forms. Maybe the Warrior is his current form, or the purple guy. Perhaps both. If that's the case, maybe ICE-E is more relevant than we thought. ICE-E's many forms are like Gaster's hands… Enacting HIS will, like how a demon would
2. ICE-E has a clear connection to Gaster. There's some precedent to them working together somehow. The purple mascot could be the vehicle they use to communicate or set things in motion! Maybe it's ICE-E or Gaster himself, but I doubt it's the latter. I think it's the former because Gaster only talks outside the bounds of the game.. As if he himself can't interact with the world of Deltarune, but ICE-E can. I think the mascot was created so he can set whatever plan he has in motion. To control everything in the shadows behind a corporation. He can oversee everything while making sure the game/device (watch Mollystar's video after this one; link in the description) is running. Plus, our funny wingding man doesn't have a form at the moment. And revealing what he looks like so early in the story would kill the mystery that is Gaster. A bit off topic but, I don't think the mystery man is Gaster himself. We don't know if it's him or not and there's a chance that it's just a piece of him. He could be an aspect or a part of Gaster's form, since he was shattered across time and space. So until Toby decides to reveal what the handy man himself looks like, we just have to speculate. Hmmm..
3. Because of what I mentioned above and ICE-E's glitchy nature. Doesn't that connect him to Noelle? I know this seems out of left field but… Think about it. Gaster, glitches, secrets, ice… All of those relate back to Noelle! She has the ability to break games after all, and she lives in one. Maybe ICE-E could be the key to unlock access to the man who speaks in hands or clues about her past? I think so! But I'm not sure how to pin this without saying Halfbreadchaos's video verbatim… But I'll try. I think that ICE-E is drawn to the Holiday family. The pizza box winking at her, the statue, the connections to Gaster. I think he's the cryptid Kris is defending our angel (not the angel) from… So to answer the question, "is ICE-E real?" Yes. But I don't think ICE-E's the one they or us as players should worry about. Not as much anyways. It's almost like he's trying to communicate with our main cast in some way… Slowly letting his presence known in every chapter. Could this be leading up to Noelle fighting him as Omega ICE-E or allying with him to defeat Gaster? We'll just have to wait for the next chapters!

So you're telling me we have canon text in which Azriel and Gwyn train alone together dagger fighting, which is pretty close contact... and people still think sjm included it just to have E/riel repeat it?
Kinda weak writing to give the same plot to two potential romantic interests... Especially considering some people think Gwyn is an insignificant side character. Would sjm give such a convenient way for two characters to get closer to Gwynriel if she wanted to pass it over to E/riel in the next book? Personally, I don't think so.
Clearly, by making theories about Elain training to become a spy with Azriel E/riels see the potential of such dynamic... But it's already been hinted at being explored by Azriel and someone else (not Elain, sorrey).
So I would recommend retiring the Elain spy training plot and coming up with something more original (but pls no more Illyrian princesses fiascos. It's fun when people get creative with their theories but maybe not that much lmao).
I mean…we don’t know what happened at the dagger handling lesson. If it was oh so important why didn’t SJM have Gwyn talk about it with Nesta? Why didn’t we hear about it from Azriel to Cassian? There were many ways and avenues for SJM to drop hints for GA if she wanted to.
Instead she wrote Nesta noticing a charged glance between Elain and Azriel, Az’s shadows set to strike at the thought of Elain being hurt by Nesta, “his secret to tell, never hers”, Azriel being upset after Solstice which Nesta notices and we later find out it’s because Rhysand told Azriel to stay away.
As for stealing scenes…antis are the one that want someone other than Elain to call Azriel’s hands beautiful, for Azriel to give someone besides Elain Truth Teller, who want someone other than Elain to make Azriel belly laugh, Who want Gwyn to be Starborn and use the Trove and be Nyx’s favorite auntie and essentially take Elain’s place in the IC and Archeron sister. I’ve even seen where they want the forbidden romance cause Rhysand said so!!
And Elain has much more canon text for the spy route than Gwyn, sorry. Hanging out in a tree once does not a spy make.
So you’re telling me you got all this canon text and don’t see the possibility of an Elain spy route? Not to mention Elain killing the fucking King of Hybern by stabbing him with the dagger Truth Teller after she stepped out of the shadows?
Womp womp.

Romy Discord FanFic Rec List
In honor of Rogue/Gambit Week, some of the writers from the Romy Discord wanted to share some fics that we’ve written.
With so much Romy love to share, we hope y’all find a new favorite or rediscover an old one.
💚💖 Thanks for reading! 💖💚
Takes Two To Tango (or take down a Wild Sentinel) @aldreantreuperi by AldreanTreuPeri [ao3]
Rating: M | Universe: XtAS’97 | Words: 1,521 | Chapters: 1 | Status: Oneshot
Summary: A battle is as much a dance as anything achieved on a dance floor…and having the proper partner can literally keep you alive… Episode 5 fix-it fic.
But Here We Are by AppleJ @applejacks1552 [ao3]
Rating: M | Universe: Comics | Words: 32,978 | Chapters: 30 | Status: Complete
Summary: They never thought this would be possible, but Rogue is uneXpectedly eXpecting. Yet nothing is ever THAT simple in the life of an X-Man. What secret will Gambit discover that complicates their happily-ever-after?
AppleJ says: Hmmmm ... why I wrote that fic in particular: First, because I wanted to make the fan theory that the twins (Maxime & Manon) were Romy kiddos real. Second, because I KNOW it will be a cold day in hell before Marvel ever gives Romy kids in the main 616 (like maybe long after I'm dead & they're out of storylines & they've already split/reunited them 5 times over?), so it seemed like fertile ground (pun intended). And third, because they say to write what you know & I wanted a pregnancy/birth story that reflected the reality that it isn't all sunshine & rainbows & certainty for many of us & that's okay too.
Mighty Thin Ice by Cajun_Hawk @cajunhawk [ao3] [ff.net]
Rating: E | Universe: Comics | Words: 138,942 | Chapters: 11 | Status: WIP
Summary: Rogue is working hard to get her powers under control while she and Gambit have decided to take their relationship to the next level, in hopes of having something normal very soon.
The Legacy of Dark Cerebro by Chellerbelle @chellerbelles [ao3] [ff.net]
Rating: T | Universe: Movies | Words: 45,064 | Chapters: 12 | Status: Complete
Summary: What if X2 had ended differently? What if the X-Men hadn’t gotten to Professor Xavier in time and all the humans had died? Takes place 5 years after this alternate ending (exception of the prologue).
Chelle says: After much indecision, I decided on The Legacy of Dark Cerebro. The opening scene had a special place in my heart, and New Sun vs Phoenix was on my fanfic bucket list for a long time. 🙂Also, this story seems a bit more “new reader” friendly than some of my other favourites, haha.
Risk and Reward by DayenuRose @dayenurose [ao3] [ff.net]
Rating: T | Universe: Comics | Words: 47,518 | Chapters: 13 | Status: Complete
Summary: There’s an old adage that goes, the greater the risk, the greater the reward. As a thief, Remy LeBeau know full well that oftentimes the greatest risks come with the greatest rewards. When he starts to fall for the enigmatic Rogue, Remy must decide if the risks are worth the possible reward.
Rose says: This was one of the first Romy fics I’ve written. It was a real entry into Romy fandom for me. Everyone was so welcoming and kind in the comments. And during the process of writing this, it helped me come to a better understand of Gambit, Rogue, and their relationship. 💜
LeBeau’s Eleven by Ilargikat @ilargikat [ao3]
Rating: G | Universe: Comics | Words: 14,182 | Chapters: 6 | Status: WIP
Summary: Planning a heist is not easy, especially when you need special skills to pull it off. The luck of being an X-Men is that the skills are within reach, maybe not people willing to commit a heist.
Once. Now. Before. Always. by lovethelebeaux @lovethelebeaux [ao3]
Rating: M | Universe: Comics | Words: 10,179 | Chapters: 4 | Status: Complete
Summary: Four vignettes from four different time periods over the course of Rogue and Gambit’s relationship.
Lovethelebeax says: Heehee I've only written like four things so this will be easier for me than most 😅 it's this one, my first in 20 years
The Tailor & The Seamstress by Ludi_Ling @ludi-ling [ao3] [ff.net]
Rating: M | Universe: X-Men |Words: 58,659 | Chapters: 13 | Status: Complete
Summary: Remy LeBeau is the creative lead at a waning fashion house in 1910 New York. Over the street is his employer’s rival, where a pretty and talented seamstress happens to work. Romance ensues, of course - in-between a friendly rivalry, that is.
Ludi says: It was a tough call on which fic to choose, but I settled on this one because the last fic I write is always the one I'm most proud of, and this is the last one I completed! Last summer @narwhallove challenged me to write a Romy fic that played on my love of both them and of historical fashion. She threw some ideas at me, and I wrote nearly an entire chapter. Then, X-Men '97 starts, and I read back on what I wrote in July '23, and suddenly the rest of the story unfolds before me. I had a blast writing it! And I hope you have fun reading it too 😉
But I Can’t Trace Time by Sandmans_Raven @sandmansraven [ao3]
Rating: T | Universe: Comics | Words: 8,998 | Chapters: 1 | Status: Oneshot
Summary: After a battle with the time-traveling mutant-hunter known as Ahab, Rogue is sent into the future. To get back, she must rely on old friends and put a stop to Ahab’s plans.
Toys by Spaceorphan @spaceorphan18 [ao3]
Rating: T | Universe: Comics | Words: 1,619 | Chapters: 1 | Status: Oneshot
Summary: Romy catches Remy playing with toy action figures of the X-Men. Shenanigans. Set in the 616 verse, but some fun meta-y references to XM97.

Were those just theories in the Titan/ Lyrium War post?! I need to know all the things!!
Half theories! I've seen a few codices that I've been thinking on for a long time. So here's my reason behind why I used the tags I did on that post.
This is very, very long. But it's the best collection I can cobble together of all the reasons I think these things.
Beware: HORROR OF HORMAK story spoilers at the bottom of this post!
"Mythal and Elgar'nan are both cited as mining/carving slain titans for their lyrium."
In the light of the veilfire, the runes seem to shift, coiling and uncoiling like snakes. A thunderous voice shatters the stillness, shouting: "Hail Mythal, adjudicator and savior! She has struck down the pillars of the earth and rendered their demesne unto the People! Praise her name forever!" For a moment, the scent of blood fills the air, and there is a vivid image of green vines growing and enveloping a sphere of fire. The vision grows dark. An aeon seems to pass. Then the runes crackle, as if filled with an angry energy. A new vision appears: elves collapsing caverns, sealing the Deep Roads with stone and magic. Terror, heart-pounding, ice-cold, as the last of the spells is cast. A voice whispers: "What the Evanuris in their greed could unleash would end us all. Let this place be forgotten. Let no one wake its anger. The People must rise before their false gods destroy them all."
The Titans are referred to as "the pillars of the earth" often enough that it's made it onto the Dragon Age wiki. Mythal slew at least one Titan and then gave that Titan's demesme (lands or domain) to the People (the ancient elves). The ending text of this codex makes it sound like this was later something regretted, if not by Mythal, then by the other elves of the time.
You can also see PLENTY of Mythal statues in the Deep Roads, particularly during Trespasser — curiously, with wolves always guarding the doors.
Ghilan'nain's statues feature almost as prominently in these places.
The pages of this book—memory?—describe a monument made in a single afternoon by a thousand-thousand toiling servants swarming over a lump of fallen stone as large as a collapsed mountain. By the end of the day, the stern figure of Elgar'nan stares down into a valley, carved out from the foothills of the rock. The slaves have disappeared. Light radiates from the eidolon's narrowed eyes and its open, snarling mouth. "Hail Elgar'nan, first among the gods! Mark his victory eternal!"
I take this to mean Titans/lyrium because of how widespread it is that Elgar'nan threw the sun into the earth and then brought it back out. In ancient elvhen, the words for sun (elgara) and spirit (elgar) are almost the exact same. This could mean bringing spirits (or bringing spirits against their will) into the Earth (the Titans' domain).
"It is very possible the evanuris made their own bodies out of lyrium."
This one is more theorycrafting than anything, and I'll direct you to this video where a lot of things started clicking into place for me.
But I want to add this codex to the discussion as well.
Many of these pages are filled with sketches of elven statues matching the ones found in the area, along with notes and what look like attempts to practice Qunlat: Trying to remember that old bedtime song about Mythal. My mother sang it the night before the darkspawn came for my clan. It's the last time I ever heard her voice. Ir sa tel'nal, Mythal las ma theneras. Ir san'a emma. Him solas evanuris. Da'durgen'lin, Banal malas elgara. Bellanaris, bellanaris.
Now, for the purposes of this discussion, we're going to ignore the provided translation, because we know that translation is wrong in a few spots. From my best understanding, this is as close as I can translate it.
I am [one] [not/never] [nal], Mythal grants [you/me] dreams, I [am/was] [here] [within], [Becomes/Became] Solas evanuris. Little stone [boy], Nothing [given/granted] to [the sun], Forever, forever.
Everything [in brackets] is an educated guess, the best as I can make it.
If I've gotten the translation close to right, this describes Solas, a spirit that is called to take the shape of a "little stone boy," becoming one of the Evanuris at Mythal's behest.
"They made unliving champions with no need to breathe to fight on their behalf."
A codex entry!
The pages of this book—memory?—show a narrow plateau on top of a mountain, Two armored figures—one in gold, one in black—are fighting in the snow. Steel flickers so fast the air hums. Blood dots the ground. They do not stop for breath. The one in black makes no sound as a blade parts his throat. "Mythal, in her wisdom, interceded in an argument between Elgar'nan and Falon'Din. With clever words, she convinced them to settle their grievance through a battle of their champions. Elgar'nan and Falon'Din agreed, and set their champions against each other rather than declare war among the gods. May those knights long be remembered, and Mythal's wisdom be praised."
Worth noting, this codex is titled "Duel of a Hundred Years."
These things aren't human! They bleed, but don't breathe. They never stop fighting. This duel lasts 100 years.
"Ghilan'nain's lab is fueled by lyrium that causes those awful mutations."
I don't have screencaps to pull quotes from, but it's yellow-green lyrium at the center of the part of Ghilan'nain's lab in Horror of Hormak that monsters are coming out of, and this lyrium is what's exploded to destroy the lab and all its creatures.
Honorable Mentions:
• Andruil's entire story with her trips to the Void make me think of the abyss being the deep underground (and the endless sky very deep underground), and Mythal sapping Andruil's strength and storing her memories makes me think of lyrium.
• Solas talking about Falon'din in the Temple of Mythal makes me think that amassing more worshippers may well have meant creating them from Mythal's lyrium stores.
INQUISITOR: Do you know any legends? SOLAS: It is said Falon’Din’s appetite for adulation was so great, he began wars to amass more worshippers. The blood of those who wouldn’t bow low filled lakes as wide as oceans. Mythal rallied the gods, once the shadow of Falon’Din’s hunger stretched across her own people. It was almost too late. Falon’Din only surrendered when his brethren bloodied him in his own temple. INQUISITOR: Did ancient elves believe all their gods so terrifying? SOLAS: Yes. I believe they did.
SO YEAH!! Lyrium war! Lyrium war, I say!!! It's on my Veilguard bingo card for sure—either as an explanation of what came before, something that will begin in Veilguard, or both.

Dawnbreaker Discourse 🌄
Over the last couple days I've been tagged in a number of posts regarding the theory that Greyson's story No Morning holds proof that Zayne's Snowy Serenity card is actually Dawnbreaker Zayne who managed to make it to the present timeline.
Below the cut, I'll discuss why I don't believe this is the case, along with references to the in game content that supports my theory. That said, please note that I fully support the folks who want to believe this theory, because at the end of the day my man deserves to have everyone in his corner.
Let's dig in shall we?
For starters, I'm not going to rehash the entire breakdown of where all this commentary started, but will try to sum it up quickly instead.
『The CN players have linked the appearance of the white flowers and the black crystal ice in the WU story No Morning to Dawnbreaker.』
All of these theories are interesting and have a lot of fun ideas, but all of them are missing what I think is the key element here.
I believe the constant reference to the black crystal ice as Dawnbreaker's Evol is being misconstrued for what the game is setting up to be a major plot device/point in later parts of the story.
In No Morning we see Greyson observe the black crystals here-
Earlier in this same story it's specified that this plant comes from a very specific place on Mt Eternal, a place where we've seen another massively impactful scene involving something identical in another anecdote- Never ending Winter:
We also see them referenced again in the World Undernead stories Longly Flame, and Snowy Stairs-
I believe there are other references to the black crystals I am surely missing, but these are the ones I remembered right off the top of my head.
I ALSO realize that in Greyson's POV it very specifically calls them "black ICE crystals" while every other reference says "Black crystals" but I fully believe that's either a translation error, or just a solid case for unreliable narrator. As much as I adore Grey, he can be a bit of a dork, so I can accept the mishap there. That being said, I really do believe with all my heart it is simply a translation difference rather than a deliberate misdirection.
And while Dawnbreaker's ice is indeed a black ice, I do not believe that it will ever be used in a significant storytelling capacity (as in I dont think it will be used to subtly hint at his presence) due to the very heavy-handed usage of these black crystals PG has been feeding us since the very beginning. Never Ending Winter was one of the OG anecdotes, so these black crystals have been set up from launch as a very important reference to either a type of protocore sickness, a metaflux disease, or some other deepspace linked disorder we've yet to understand.
That said, I'll admit I've definitely been calling Zayne's Snowy Serenity card the DawnFaker card because I'll agree- it has some H E A V Y DB undertones and they didn't do him any favors by putting him in a Dawnbreaker cosplay but with a beige sweater. I'm gonna continue to call it the DawnFaker card, but know that it's said in jest and with affection, and that I don't actually believe that card was Dawnbreaker (as much as I wish it was!)
I hope my little bit of imput was helpful or even slightly insightful! Please feel free to discuss or link me any refuting information. I'm always down to say "oops I was wrong~" when it comes to the lore of this game. Because let's be real, it's a mess lol.

Deltarune OCs!!!
Kattie The Kid - Chapter 3 Secret boss - Object: Cat Petters. Basic just of lore is there controlled by the “Friend Inside Them” (bootleg controller) and want to go home, (Catti and Cattys house) Dorthy style. There theme would be called “THERES NO PLACE LIKE HOME”
Plastino - other Chapter 3 Secret Boss - Object: Green Toy Soldier in Toriels room (probably just lost in there.) that Kris used to burn with matches, making him melty and past his prime. He is now a conspiracy theorist, a veteran, turned actor, now in the basement of the studio and proving together something…. Big? His inspiration was TF2 and a joke theory on twitter. Theme: “HELLFIRE”
Orcherstral- Chapter 4 Church Secret Boss - Object; old plush toy that played music. He is a disgraced Orchestrator, trying to piece together a song he heard, his “MAGNUM OPIS”, which is also what his theme is called teehee
The Mage - Chapter 5 Hospital Secret Boss - Object: Glitch in Dragon Blazers - she’s been locked on top of the ice palace, guarded by the Dragon, who is just a funny shop keeper in game. She was cut away from the world by The Nurse, who has a unconsciously become a Tyrant to the Hospital Dark World.
The Knight (not the roaring one) - Weird Route Secret Boss - she believes she IS. The knight, and is very motherly and protective of Noelle, trying to save her from Kris, or “Child Of Man.” She uses the pink soul, which I made up, where you bounce !!!
Sareli- Flower King Secret Boss - Sareli used to be the sidekick to the main boss of this chapter (6), Who is a superhero, but then wanted more. He wanted to be a hero, more then him, more then THEM. He can morph his muscles around (really he has none), and can go under ground.
Jackie - Chapter 7 Secret Boss - Toriels Classroom - object: Jack in the Box. I haven’t really thought of him too much, but I like the idea of him being to scary for the perfect child-like world the Great Guard wants, and he was “turned off” for good.
Frost-E - Chapter 9 Festival Secret Boss - Object - burnt pizza box. He’s basically just Scrooge, but instead of becoming more generous after seeing apparitions, he just went crazy. Leaving his riches to the festival…

Hey Kid, you want a Digimon Frontier theory?
You know how different Digimon Frontier was with its evolution. Unified/Hyper Spirit evolution being of them. Consisting of ten spirits or five sets of spirits combining together into one body known as a unified/hyper spirit. The two unified/hyper spirits: EmperorGreymon/KaiserGreymon and MagnaGarurumon are clearly only made for a single set of spirits, fire and light. That means that there are eight other combinations resulting from the eight other sets of spirits.
Now the question is how do you figure out what combinations are used for a spirit’s unified/hyper form and what design qualities are made to be a part of the spirit? This leads me to my theory known as Unified Partners Theory. The theory states that each element has another one that they partner up with during their unified/hyper spirit evolution. This is a shoddy explanation but it's the best I’ve come up with. Looking at how unified/hyper spirits are formed, Takuya and Kouji use half of the spirits in order to achieve the evolution. That is noteworthy and I know what the simplest answer is. It's Digimon Frontier, the show with the most protag and lancer favoritism and they didn't want the others to factor anymore in the fights with their beloved Bois. But in lore is what is truly interesting. What is needed for the two hyper spirits is odd, at first. Ice is used for Fire, and Darkness is for Light. Of course, the two wielders for each pair are like brothers. But there’s also Earth in Fire and Water in Iight. Earth, I get. But water in the light unified evolution?? There's also the fact that Junpei and Kouji barely interact with one another before the whole unified/hyper spirits evolution thingy. So that leads to folks smarter than I am to the idea that the hyper spirit consists of two sets of spirits that keep it in check and two other sets that do boost the spirit. That makes sense as a hyper spirit with four sets of boosters sounds rather hard to make and would be probably better a bit uncontrollable. In the show, the last evolution is the fusion of all twenty spirits, Susanoomon. A digimon that doesn't really resemble any other spirits but light and fire. More specifically a fusion of their hyper forms. Meta wise, they wanted Omnimon/Omegamon 2.0. But also why??? It's the result of twenty spirits coming together and should honestly reflect the other eight more. It's like there other versions of Susanoomon or Susanoomon-adjacent mega fusions that correlate with the other spirits which obviously implies pairing the spirits up. Now here's the kicker and a tid bit that I have seen nobody discuss at all… and that's the theming of the two unified spirits cuz baby, they do have it!
Starting with EmperorGreymon. EmperorGreymon is named after Grey which in some contexts means old and Emperor which is the title of a male ruler over an empire. Kaiser from the sub is a German/Austrian/Holy empire emperor. This naming convention is resimcisnt of the olden times of history. EmperorGreymon resembles a knight or paladin from history and even harkens folklore with its Reference book talking about Gaia and the nine dragons inside of its armor and itself being the ninth dragon. This works well for the dragonic line of fire and references how fire was used all the way back in the ancient times to light our world.
Now for MagnaGarurumon. You might get an idea on what I am saying but I would still explain it. MagnaGarurumon is very toy-like but also very sleek. It has cannons and guns and has an airplane as a chest piece. MagnaGarurumon reminds me of ScFi fantasy androids. There's also the fact light is more modern like light bulbs and the speed of light being a staple of science.
All this evidence makes the two digimon interconnected with their theming and lore. Which in a way makes them partners as they are a pair. That’s where I got the name. But what about the others? Well, they obviously don't have canon unified spirits. So no more evidence. But we can apply it to the others! The second part of this theory document is to apply it to the other eight elements and figure out which pair is the most fitting for each element. Here my friends are the requirements:
Have some thematic ideas and coscension between the two pairs. i.e: similar elements, similar design choices, good thematic ideas between the pair.
Do I like the idea of them being unified Partners? Based purely off vibes and dynamics.
Can you actually make the other four sets of spirits work with the partnership? As in I can make the leftover spirits work for both base spirits be in line with the rules set up with Unified/Hyper Spirit Evolutions.(This will barely be a factor because I am not thinking that hard.)
Likeliness? Will the digimon designers and writers actually think this is a viable idea at all?
And users! Do this pair have a good connection when it comes to the users or just the spirits itself?
Now we have 24 pairs to review and rate. I will all rank them on scale from one to five. One is I don't like this at all/how is this possible? and five is amazing! I want this badly!/Very possibly canon!
Tomoki/Chakmon + Izumi/Kazemon: ⅗. Not bad, they meant to be the “weakest” of the group as Digimon Frontier states them as. But there's a bit of elemental coscension with ice and wind making snowstorms and blizzards. When things are cold, they move slower, and wind is heavily associated with speed. A slow and steady vs fast and furious type of deal. Likely a possibility as if you wanted to keep the kids spirits together. But there's better options.
Tomoki/Chakmon + Junpei/Blitzmon: ⅗. Just like Ice and Wind, not a bad choice. Junpei and Tomoki have a nice dynamic of being brother-like, especially in episode 2. The elements don't have good element mixing or similarities. It could do some themes with speed and defense. Lightning is very fast and the ice spirit line is noticeably bulky. But so is the thunder line, so ehh?
Tomoki/Chakmon + Kouichi/Loweemon: 5/5. Two brothers or brother figures to the official pair. Their elements are the opposite of the official pair. There's also the good thematic ideas of physical and spiritual elements. Along with both elements being associated with death. The chill of ghosts and the cold touch of death. Darkness is obvious. This is a very good pair!
Tomoki/Chakmon + Grumblemon: ⅕. Uh… They're both small. A more modern element paired with a classical element… That's all I got.
Tomoki/Chakmon + Ranamon: ⅖. We have more similarities in the elements. A lot you can do with solid ice and liquid water. The same reason from Izumi and Tomoki about the whole girl and younger kids thing. And also, Ranamon is weirdly child-like in her design. So uh… there's that. Not much here though especially in the likeliness compartment but small? I guess?
Tomoki/Chakmon + Arbormon: ⅘. We got a lot here. Despite the fan consensus of them being like rivals, the two didn't interact a lot. It was really only when Tomoki got his beast spirit and the fight at Petaldramon’s mansion. But it's still a good pair. We have some connections with the seasons(Winter and Summer/Spring) in the elements and the idea of life and death. We got some of the less humanoid spirits and very less armored beast spirits. This is a very good pair I dare say.
Tomoki/Chakmon + Mercuremon: ⅕. The fuck do you want me to say. There's nothing between them.
Izumi/Kazemon + Junpei/Blitzmon: 5/5. Oh boy, this is one of my favorites. We have similar elements and a great relationship between the users. Kazemon and Blitzmon reflect each other in the insect theme. Zephyrmon being very speedy and light, and Bolgmon being, well, a tank. The likeliness is high in this, these two have been paired up like it's nothing! Plus I am a Junzumi shipper.
Izumi/Kazemon + Kouichi/Loweemon: ⅖. Better speed and defense theme. Wind generates darkness as the weather gets worse, the skies get darker. Izumi did help Kouichi a bit with the whole twin brother situation. Otherwise not a lot here.
Izumi/Kazemon + Grumblemon: ⅗. Another opposite attract!(Not romantically! Not romantically!). Earth is land and Wind is sky, very obvious. You can do a lot of themes with that. Heaven and Earth, Love and Hate(By general personalities), and other stuff. We got a fairy and a troll as a pair! Likelihood is… eehhh. Which unfortunately knocks it down a point.
Izumi/Kazemon + Ranamon: 5/5. These two had a fierce(and unfortunate) rivalry in the anime. Their elements are like opposites to each other. They're the only girls in the entirety of the spirits. Plus who doesn't want girl power? Who doesn't want to see Ranamon and Izumi become friends and finally kick some ass! Plus the Digimon company who like to pair the two girls and have two new waifus in their belt(ugh).
Izumi/Kazemon + Arbormon: ⅖. I like the idea of them interacting but we don't see them actually interact one on one. We got some opposition between the sturdy Arbormon and a very armorless Kazemon. So there's that. Otherwise not a lot here.
Izumi/Kazemon + Mercuremon: ⅕. I got nothing here, man. Mercuremon has literally almost nothing with most of the kids.
Junpei/Blitzmon + Kouichi/Loweemon: ⅖. Another popular combination, mostly to also pair with Fire/Light, and Ice/Wind. We can't have a light and dark pair as Kouji is already paired with Takuya. So we have this pair. And you can tell that this is the lesser version of a light/dark pair. We can go with a very Egyptian theme as Loweemon, obviously, and Blitzmon, you can make him a scarab. Junpei and Kouichi, as I know of, have little to no interaction. This is a pair up I don't like.
Junpei/Blitzmon + Grumblemon: ⅗. Junpei and Grumblemon had a rivalry between each other. Mostly on Junpei’s part with him wanting to defeat Grumblemon for Izumi. Direct differences between the two like the big, softie Junpei vs short, gremliny Grumblemon. A traditional and more stable element of earth and thunder's flashy, once there and now gone modern element. There's good dynamics here but I'm not the biggest fan of this.
Junpei/Blitzmon + Ranamon: ⅖. Worse Wind/Thunder pairing here! I mean, we got real good destructive power here with thunderstorms and tsunamis. I did read a fanfic with these two interacting, it's amazing and I do like their dynamic in that. But the likelihood here is very slim and I have better ideas for them.
Junpei/Blitzmon + Arbormon: ⅖. We got two very robot-like human spirits. Very bulky and big beast spirits. There's an interesting dynamic here but it barely scratches the ⅖.
Junpei/Blitzmon + Mercuremon: ⅖. Same reason as above plus a very machinery theme between the two and you got a modern element plus a classical element! Still ⅖.
Kouichi/Loweemon + Grumblemon: ⅖. Something, something, caverns and caves associated with darkness. There's an odd fossil and undead idea here as darkness in Digimon is associated with the undead and the earth is what fossils are made of. But by yggdrasil, there’s no good dynamic here and the idea of it happening is slim to none.
Kouichi/Loweemon + Ranamon: ⅘. Like Ice/Darkness, there's an opposition to the Fire/Light. Water is much better suited as fire’s opposite but loses the brother dynamic Ice and Fire wielders have. Little less likely than Water and Ice because I feel like Digimon would want the kids to be Unified Partners together. Expect for more Waifus!!!
Kouichi/Loweemon + Arbormon: ⅕. Duskmon killing Arbormon kills any idea of this NGL.. Getting betrayed by your coworkers ruins your viewpoint of that person/mon unlike getting killed by someone because you deserve it and are evil. But this is Arbormon we're talking about. He’ll probably forgive Kouichi because of brainwashing. That's an amazing dynamic. There's nothing else here though
Kouichi/Loweemon + Mercuremon: ⅘. A very, very popular pair. These two reflect the leader and lancer dynamic with Takuya and Kouji. This pair fought against their respective counterparts. These two are seemingly the strongest spirits we have in the group. Kouichi even used the spirits of steel in a D-Tector toy! This pair is going to be the closest thing we can get to a warrior and magician pair we have. So we all have this evidence, so why only ⅘? I don't like the idea of this pairing to be honest. The dynamic here isn't all that interesting and as I said before, I prefer the kids to be with each other. Plus I have better ideas for a Mercuremon.
Grumblemon + Ranamon: ⅗. I like to call Grumblemon, Ranamon, and Kazemon the regional trio. Grumblemon is the land and mountains and Ranamon is the ocean and the water we drink. More opposites! Woohee! They have little screen time together but the fun dynamic is there. Similar human and beast spirits. But this is my least favorite pair of only the “evil” legendary warriors.
Grumblemon + Arbormon: ⅘. We got similar elements, opposite personalities and body types. These two dynamics are fun and great. They got a lot of themes applied with the elements of earth and wood. A very high possibility. It's also getting this high because God damn it, it's cute.
Grumblemon + Mercuremon: 5/5. I can and will explain why this one has a fucking 5/5 rating. First of all, we have similar elements like Grumblemon and Arbormon. Yet despite that, the way they use their elements is vastly different. Grumblemon is very physical with him only using physical attacks like the ground and his hammer. Gigasmon only really has only one “special” attack with Quagmire Twister/Hurricane Bomber. Mercuremon is, however, being magical and ✨special✨. Mercuremon is based off a magic mirror and uses mirrors to reflect attacks, mostly ones of the magic kind. Beast Spirit of Steel is literally a motherfucking Sephiroth. Associated with God’s ten forces to create the world we line in Jewish mythology. All these associates are because of the steel spirit having an alchemy theme behind it like how metals are prevalent in alchemy. Kinda like how Grumblemon uses potions and earth is also used in alchemy. Also due to Sephirothmon being based after Jewish’s God will and creation and Mercuremon taking Seraphimon’s data to become ShadowSeraphimon, Mercuremon also has an angel association. Which isn't much to say if it weren’t for the fact that Grumblemon kinda also has a devil association. It's a stretch but I do want to talk about it. Grumblemon in the Japanese sub is an oni type. Oni in Japanese folklore are considered trolls, orges, orcs, and Demons! Plus AncientVolcamon is demon-like with the horns. As this to say we got a really good theme here and we have MagnaGarurumon, so Demon Earth Unified Spirit and Angel Steel Unified Spirit doesn't seem too far fetched.
Ranamon + Arbormon: ⅘. These two are a pair that shouldn't work but it does! Arbormon and Ranamon are pure opposites! Ranamon is feminine, squishy as in less defensive, uses more special attacks, her element is very obviously liquidity, and her personality is explosive and more moody. Arbormon on the other hand, is masculine, very armored and even in Petaldramon, it takes all five beast spirits to take him down, a physical attacker, a solid element, and he’s more calm and put together so to speak. What I am trying to say here is that there's an odd Yin and Yang to them. Which is a very interesting theme to have and explore. Nice ⅘!
Ranamon + Mercuremon: ⅘. These two out of everyone in “evil” legendary warriors have the strongest official dynamic. You could say some of the same reasons above in Water/Wood can be applied here.(not the masculine and feminine at all, have you seen Mercuremon?). This pair is solely based on their dynamic and possibility. I do like this pair however.
Arbormon + Mercuremon: ⅘. We have relatively the same appearances. More robot-like in their human forms, then their beast forms are more organic you could say. Mercuremon is the brains, Arbormon is the brawn. Nature vs Machine. It all works here. Plus if Karn’s idea of Teppei having the spirits of steel and Katsuharu having the spirits of wood, then yeah, have the bullies be unified Partners. Plus you can have a knight and his noble steed! That's great.
Conclusion: We have highs and lows in this list which is good for when you're trying to figure out what is the most likely pairs to happen. Still, the top choices I decided are still numerous. So here's all the top choices for the kids.
Izumi/Kazemon: Junpei/Blitzmon and Ranamon.
Tomoki/Chakmon: Kouichi/Loweemon and Arbormon.
Junpei/Blitzmon: Izumi/Kazemon and Grumblemon.
Kouichi/Loweemon: Tomoki/Chakmon, Mercuremon, and Ranamon.
Grumblemon: Arbormon and Mercuremon.
Ranamon: Kouichi/Loweemon, Mercuremon, and Arbormon.
Arbormon: Grumblemon, Tomoki/Chakmon, and Mercuremon.
Mercuremon: Grumblemon, Arbormon, Ranamon, and Kouichi/Loweemon.
All of these choices are great and I could see happening. This is great for artists and people to have different ideas and explore them. But we as a community also want a hard answer. So what's my cold, hard answer? I got two. One based on what I think the Digimon company would do and what I want to do.
Digimon would probably want to do Izumi and Ranamon obviously. Kouichi and Mercuremon is a no-brainer to rival Fire and Light. From there, Tomoki and Arbormon are way too good a pair to not give up on and Junpei and Grumblemon is all that is left.
I would do either Kouichi with Tomoki or Ranamon to rival his brother because that's all he has. Izumi and Junpei are the only excellent pair for Junpei and the constant pairing will continue. Arbormon can also go with Tomoki and Ranamon whichever feels the best. Lastly, we have Mercuremon and Grumblemon because holy hell, I made the longest paragraph here for them. I will confidently land on Ice/Darkness and Water/Wood.
That's it! Anyone can make comments or suggestions on any pairs I may have overlooked. You can even draw for any of the paired unified spirits ideas. This was fun

You know it only hit me now that honestly, our dear cast of HTP could just grab any Joe Shmoe off the death-ridden street and use them as keys to their counterparts to get in and out of hels. It doesn't have to be a helsian in the overworld or an overworlder in hels.
Hels Tek could in theory just grab someone or use themselves (the idea of them shoving Clear Cut on the redstone ore and popping out to see fucking Mumbo Jumbo working on his latest giant-ass redstone idea in single player is hilarious), get to the overworld, then start the manhunt from there by portal hopping and grapevining. They don't NEED Bravo, but it's so much easier to find Tango that way. Though they did kinda need a base point at first to puzzle it out from Bravo's code, so they needed him at first. They needed to test, to figure it out. But now that they have it, they kinda don't need to have Bravo to get to the Overworld, but they need him for a fast route to Tango.
And also it shows that it's definitely not a matter of getting out of Hels, they just want Tango.
Now I'm thinking. My brain is turning. Way down the line, if these portals manage to be found out at all, people can get out of Hels by getting to their counterparts. And it would be Business. Like BIG BUSINESS. First they need the initial portal. A large and powerful enough group to gather the resources. A big company or a massive enough town. Once they get the first portal open to a server that is single player or is a weak server against them, they have overworld resources. And now they’re selling wood and mobs and everything that was once scarce, it's now bountiful. Flood the market or control the supply to increase demand. That's E-co-nom-ics baby. And they'll have plenty of resources to keep the portals open too.
And then we have the option of selling an escape from Hels. A privilege for the rich, something the lower people can only dream of. They scrape for even the tiniest bit of enough to buy the chance to escape. Prices only the richest can afford, but others fight and work and slave (good workers for our richest YesYes) for the chance. A one way ticket out.
They can't come back, you see. That would undercut the advantage of being able to sell Overworld resources after all. They'd bring back their own resources, and they would have seen the portal workings (though they prob would hide all they could of the redstone)
Espionage, spying, bribes, threats, all sorts of schemes to get their own portals.
Hels Tek could do this tbh. They have the starting advantage. Even if the portals don't make it out of Hels knowledge, if they only pivoted to portal travel, they'd be richer than any farm. But let's be real, Atlas will never see that venture, he's too obsessed with the one that got away. His white whale. His orange blaze.
Okay I should get back to writing my fics and not HTP headcanons, I'll use up my writing juice for the day!!
DAMN… under the right circumstances i could totally see that happening… very on-brand.

Ok, yes, I know it’s been… A WHILE. BUT I HAVE RETURNED!!! AND WITH INPUT!!!!
I first wanna start off with Chip and Knuckles’s dynamic in the recent pages, because there’s obviously something there that others may miss.
Knuckles is the Guardian of the Master Emerald, we all know it, been there done that. And Chip is a LITERAL GOD. And yes, Light Gaia is separate from Chaos and the Master Emerald, but the two are still connected. Light Gaia seems to feed off of the energy from the Chaos Emeralds like plant feed, treating it like a form of much needed sustenance. Dark Gaia is the same, but it feeds off the anti energy instead, or I suppose the lack of natural Chaos energy. And while Light Gaia is a calm, childish, optimistic being with a form of his own, Dark Gaia is brash, angry, and wild. This means the two have different reactions to their food source being taken away.
See, when Eggman zapped all the energy from the Chaos Emeralds at the beginning of the game/comic, it reverted Sonic’s Super form to his Werehog form because of the lack of energy. And since there was suddenly more food for Dark Gaia to snack on, he was awakened prematurely. Think of a child sneaking into the kitchen to steal a few cookies. In contrast, when Chip’s Chaos energy was zapped away and when he was awakened, all he did was find temporary replacements like fair foods and giant ice cream cones. But when Sonic and co. started bringing the Emeralds back to normal, Dark Gaia got angrier and angrier, causing the issue with Omega right now, while Chip got more and more answers to who he is and what he truly wants in life.
Knuckles is the only one who understand’s Chip’s dilemma here. He is a young Guardian whose only goal in life is to, like I said, guard the Master Emerald. And while he knows what he has to do in life and what his purpose is, he’s not satisfied. He longs for something more, a family, a home, a life. Him and Chip are kind of similar in this sense, as they both desire more than just vague visions of their past or where they came from.
So, since the two aren’t directly connected, they are still connected. So when the temple begins doing whatever temples do, they both feel the same thing. Knuckles feels Dark Gaia’s anger, and Chip feels Dark Gaia’s influence grow stronger. It’s also why poor little Tails is left out of the loop haha~
To summarize: My take on the relationship between Chaos Energy and Gaia Energy is as follows: Dark Gaia and Light Gaia feed on the different energies from the Chaos Emeralds, (Dark feeds on anti/negative energy and Light feeds on the positive energy when the Emeralds glow) so when Eggman disrupted their eternal snacks they were awakened and started causing problems. Due to this indirect connection, Knuckles and Chip understand each other much more than they realize.
Next I wanna talk about Omega’s situation here because it’s actually really interesting!
So as we all know, Omega is a robot, an artificial intelligence, created by Eggman. And also as we all know, Omega hates Eggman’s guts! And I mean he H A T E S Eggman! So much so that it’s the default emotion for him. Naturally, when interacting with any Dark Gaia creature, this hate gets amplified so much that it corrupts him. But that doesn’t make sense, does it? Omega is a robot, not a living being! His emotions are all fake, he doesn’t know what real hatred is!
…
If that’s the case then how did he even escape Eggman’s control in the first place?
Well to be fair, he is still a robot and it is true that robots typically don’t feel any “Real” emotions. However, in fiction it is possible to program a conscience or a simulation within the core programming that imitates emotion. This allows Omega to feel just like any other person, also allowing him to escape Eggman’s grasp due to feeling inferior and under appreciated. And if my theory on Dark Gaia is correct, then this all makes perfect sense!
I theorized that Dark Gaia’s just throwing a tantrum because Sonic and his friends are taking away his midnight snack, and I used a kid taking a cookie as an analogy. Well, just like that little kid, Gaia is desperate for any little crumb, nugget, or particle of food, no matter what it is, because he’s angy. Dark Gaia is desperate for literally anything at this point, so he’s ramping up the amount of monsters and negativity in the world just to get what he wants. Simulated or faked emotions are no real difference to him in this enraged state, so to him, Omega is just another random idiot for him to suck dry. After all, if Omega’s able to fool even Rouge and Shadow with his simulated emotions, then Dark Gaia doesn’t really care.
Another summary: Dark Gaia is pissy and hungry, so he doesn’t really care if one’s anger is simulated or not. He still likes the taste of Omega’s fury, so he is able to corrupt the robot despite the guy being, well, a robot!
AND NOW FOR GUN YES I CAN FINALLY HATE ON THE GOVERNMENT LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOO-
Wait-
Oh shoot this is already reaaaaaaallllyyyyyyyy really long! Uh. You know what? I’ll make a separate ask at some point later on talking about G.U.N. and what their whole deal is in this situation. This whole ask was mostly about gods and emotions anyway, so it would be quite the whiplash to go from that to government stuff. So with that said, thank you so much for reading this very… V E R Y long ask! I hope it was enjoyable despite its length. Great way to come back from a 5-month disappearance…! Haha… We have fun here.
Thanks for making this comic at all btw, it really shows your talent and growth as an artist and it’s in general just fun to read. There are so many little details and plot points that I could go on and on about but again, I’ll save it for later. Byeeeeeeee!!
very good points regarding knux n chip! I rly wanted to give them this connection that only they could have, which is one of those big missed opportunities from the game by cutting knuc from the story.
Nd super interesting take on the gaia/chaos energy duality 👀 cant wait to shine my own light on that in the future!

“He brought you a present.” Those doe-brown eyes turned toward me. Sharper than I’d ever seen them. “And that entitles him to my time, my affections?” ... I handed Elain the small box with her name on it. Her smile faded as she opened it. “Enchanted gloves,” she read from the card. “That won’t tear or become too sweaty while gardening.” She set aside the box without looking at it for longer than a moment.
He and Lucien did not exchange gifts, though the male had brought a gift for Feyre and one for his mate, who barely thanked him after opening the pearl earrings. Cassian’s heart strained at the pain etching deep into Lucien’s face as he tried to hide his disappointment and longing. Elain only shrank further into herself, no trace of that newfound boldness to be seen.
In the spirit of Winter Solstice, the two scenarios are quite different. I know the E/riels love to emphasize how uncomfortable Elain is in the second one, but here's my perspective:
Why is Elain only confident when Lucien isn't around? In ACOSAF Solstice, she chose to stay in the room with him, listening to him speak, and the only time she finally left was when Lucien said that it wasn't very solstice-like. It's interesting that both of them stood up at the same time, both trying to leave, but it was Elain who walked out of the door. In ACOSF, she had spent the entire Solstice ignoring him, laughing, and staying away from him all night. Lucien did not demand her attention, time, or affections the entire evening.
So why, at that one moment when their attention is focused on each other, the only time in the book, couldn't she make her intentions known that she does not like him or show no interest in him? She has shown that she could ignore Lucien even when he gives her attention. She was able to say it in front of Feyre a year ago. She has iced out Lucien before, not saying a single word to him.
As for Lucien, saying that he couldn't stand to be around her for two minutes, he still came to Solstice, knowing what would await him if he did. Feyre tells us that he doesn't seem concerned about bridging their gap. He also came to Starfall a few months later, and from Nesta's perspective, possibly stood close enough to Elain for her to recognize they were around each other.
I had posted a theory a few days ago that their bond is emotionally tied, and Lucien chose to stay as a means of support for her.
But it's interesting to me that it bears some similarity to the Solstice before with Cassian and Nesta:
“It’s a long walk, and it’s late.” And you didn’t say one gods-damned word to me the entire night. Not that he’d said a word to her. She’d made it clear enough in those initial days after that last battle that she wanted nothing to do with him. With any of them. He understood. He really did. It had taken him months—years—after his first battles to readjust. To cope. Hell, he was still reeling from what had happened in that final battle with Hybern, too.
The journey of Elain and Lucien is far from over; in fact, it's only just beginning.

pretty sure the nualacerridwen anon is not a 'fellow elucien/gwynriel'
it's funny how their new strategy is to enter ur asks as anons and insist they are one of us while sounding 10/10 like an e|riel
i agree with ur theory btw, i think they are what alis was to feyre. not unimportant but not what gwyn and em are to nes.
I can't lie and say I didn't wonder the same thing. I follow a lot of Elucien and Gwynriel blogs and I don't think I've ever seen any of them dedicate major attention to Nuala and Cerridwen. That's not to say anyone dislikes them but there's really nothing to go on; there's nothing to connect them to the outstanding plots, there's nothing the author seems to want us to care about in terms of their characters. For Amren, Sarah gave her a mysterious backstory. What she was, what her power was, how she escaped the prison, etc. She gave her a love interest. There's not that much attention given to Amren's character / story but she's a main side character who theories are sometimes built around because she's been given layers. The twins have nothing written that makes most readers care about them. I'm not saying that to be rude but they have no relationships outside of the work they do for Feyre and Rhys, they have no goals that we're aware of, no desires, no personality outside how they can be of service to those in the IC. Sarah is not telling me I'm supposed to care about them because she's chosen to leave them one dimensional. Which is fine, she isn't required to set up every single character to be important but readers shouldn't be made to feel guilty when we confess we don't feel we're supposed to pay attention to them or make them more important than how they've been written. Showing rather than telling is important in writing and Sarah does it well for her major relationships. Being told the wraiths are Elain's friends but never seeing them share a conversation or do anything outside of baking is not going to convince me that this is a friendship that's going to be meaningful to Elain's future story. That doesn't mean she won't always maintain a friendship with them regardless of where she ends up but I do not think they are going to be the ones who help Elain explore her powers, push her out of her comfort zone, etc. To date I have never seen an Elucien or Gwynriel who believes they will.

DELTARUNE PREDICTION TIME
I hope I finish this post before the anniversary of chapter 1 (nothing else notable happens on that day) I'm putting my 100% correct theories+ predictions here just in case Toby decides to release chapter 3 alone for some reason (I personally think he's releasing just 3 and 4 together next year), but who knows with that dog.
CHAPTER 3
As everyone else thinks, it's safe to say that the dark world in chapter 3 is probably gonna be TV themed. With different areas going through different channels.
THE BOSS
I don't think we can predict who exactly the main villain is yet based off of one thing Jevil said about a queen in one line. But it would make sense if it were some fucked up game show host guy. Maybe since the Spade King represents Susie's dad, and Queen represents a mother, the chapter 3 boss could represent that estranged uncle that nobody really talks about.
Also Tenna is probably the guy that betrayed Spamton. Not Mike.
THE SHADOWMEN
They're just gonna be silly litle guys.
THE WEATHER CHANNEL
Also sily.
THE POLICE
Since Toriel called the police and Kris left the door opened, I think that either Undyne shows up, or Napstablook shows up wearing Undyne's Undertale armor. Both of which would be awesome sauce.
NOELLE
No idea if she'll show up in the chapter. But I also have no clue why else the Lost Girl theme was in that unused sneaking section. Yes I'm still thinking about this.
THE END
I believe that chapter 3 might end with Kris sealing the fountain. Like you walk up, that sickass guitar riff plays, the screen fades to white, and the chapter ends (assuming it releases with chapter 4). Imagine how relieving it would be that the chapter doesn't have to end on a massive cliffhanger!
CHAPTER 4
Based on the screenshots we got for the 2022 status update, I don't think chapter 4 will have a dark world. It seems like a nice intermission chapter to just hang out with Susie in Hometown for a couple hours. We could get more insight into the residents of the town, as well as some lore.
i'm a huge fan of rain so this seems like the best the game will ever get.
I think its possible that Toby might have changed his might about releasing 3-5 together, and that he might just release 3 and 4. Assuming this chapter is just in the light world, it would probably be a lot faster to develop. No enemies, no battles, just cutscenes.
Keep in mind, I just took one programming class 5 years ago, so I'm not the ultimate authority on game design. But if it is easier to develop, I think we could see chapters 3+4 next fall.
I don't really have any other predictions for chapter 4 since all we have are a few screenshots, and even less for the future chapters. So I'm just going to talk about other general things in the game.
THE BUNKER
Gaster is afoot. Also maybe Dess or something idk yet. Oh and a dark fountain too. Maybe even the supply closet one.
DARK WORLDS
I don't think EVERY room with double doors is going to be a dark world, especially considering that Toby can just retcon them in between chapters, so I like to go off of narrative significance.
I think there will totally be a dark world in the church, considering the Dreemurr family has a significant amount of history with it, as well as the interesting thing you could do with it. Like a giant pipe organ castle or something.
There probably won't be a dark world in Ice-E's, unless something super traumatizing happened to Kris there when they were a kid. But I still have my eye on that Ice-E guy. Something fishy is absolutely going on with him.
why is he so big
Asgore's flower shop seems like a really good place for a dark world, and I need to see what the golden flower darkener would be. The empty fridge could even be like the ice palace from Dragon Blazers.
THE HOLIDAYS
Rudy is most likely going to die. I really don't want him to but unfortunately it would be really good for the story. Noelle would be forced to stand up to her mom like she did to Queen.
Also Noelle's mom's name is probably either Clarice or Carol.
WEIRD ROUTE
Its likely that not every chapter will have a weird route. I think they are more tied to Noelle's presence, due to her affinity for video game glitches when she was younger. Especially because it seems like the route itself isn't supposed to happen in the game world. And the weird route is a way to break out of the whole "your choices don't matter" thing. You might even be able to save Rudy in the route, at the cost of Noelle's mental state and every other horrible thing you may have to do.
THE KNIGHT
I don't think the Knight will be the main antagonist. It might get revealed relatively early (like chapter 5), unless its Gaster or something. The actual main antagonist of the game will be either the Roaring Titans or the Angel.
THE ROARING
This is probably gonna happen at some point. Ralsei leaves for ONE minute and someone opens a dark fountain in a dark world. Can't have shit.
holy hell they look so badass
Also penumbra phantasm final boss theme. make it happen toby.

Self-recs (funny round)
I was tagged by @sallysavestheday @zealouswerewolfcollector @grey-gazania to rec 5 of my own fics, thank you! I love that this keeps cycling around, loving seeing everyone's recs. This time I'm gonna do a humour theme.
Five favourite funny fics by me:
Everlasting Darkness (E, 10.2k). After attempting to steal the Silmarils, Maedhros and Maglor are taken captive and sentenced to serve those they wronged. Earendil/Maedhros, Elwing/Maglor.
“Hmm,” Eärendil said, busying himself with the mooring lines. “I suppose I understand the fetters, but it seems a bit cruel, don’t you think?” He glanced over to where Maedhros knelt. “And I could really use another pair of ha– ah, another hand on board.”
The Magic Flute (M, 6.7k). Daeron wanders from Doriath and rebounds with a son of Fëanor. No, not that one.
“One of the Iathrim? Singing? By the river?” Caranthir didn’t turn away from the plans in front of him–designs for the reconstruction of Amon Ereb’s gates. “Ah, yes,” Amras said, “something like singing. Hard to say amid all the weeping.” Caranthir grunted. “Sounds pathetic.”
Laughing All the Way (T, 3.2k). A Yule fic in which Maglor and Turgon get stuck with each other and have an unexpectedly good time. Also Finrod is wasted. Gen.
As if Turukáno would want to speak to him! They’d never exchanged more than four or five sentences. Small wonder – what could Macalaurë possibly have to talk about with someone whose favourite dessert was fruitcake? And it wasn’t even iced, he thought, feeling for the circular lump weighing down his left pocket.
✓ Seen (M, 1.8k). Daeron and Maglor read smut. About themselves.
“What’s unethical?” “Oh. Writing fanfic about living people.” “They don’t know we’re living. Or ever existed.” “Yeah, but we could be. We don’t die in canon.” “I think people should write what they want. Nobody is making you read it.” “You are literally making me read it.”
What Happens at Camp Eglarest, Stays at Camp Eglarest (T, 22.4k). Modern AU in which Daeron and Maglor go camping with Beren, Luthien, and Celegorm. Self-indulgent millennial satire and parody of canon.
“No, no, you’re not getting it.” Maglor slapped the steering wheel with his palm and flared his eyes wide at the road ahead. “The semiotics of harmonic categories do not allow for an epistemological analysis of tripartite theory–” “What the hell are you talking about?” Daeron shuffled in the passenger seat and tugged at his shoulder strap.
Keep the rec parade going @jouissants @meadowlarkx @imakemywings @warrioreowynofrohan @i-am-a-lonely-visitor @elennalore @welcomingdisaster @searchingforserendipity25, if you want!

I have this AU that's been like bugging my head for a year now
It's this alternate universe where Jack is just Elsa's imaginary friend. Literally. The whole guardian thing is something she also made up in her head. And it got me thinking that it would make a lot of sense why she would make him up in her head.
For one, they parallel each other. They complete one another.
She longs for someone who's a little bit like her and can understand what she feels
And Jack, having powers just like her with the same trauma and isolation JUST LIKE HER. It's like this whole "invisible" thing is what she wished she were. Jack was more free-spirited and she was reserved and quiet. He wanted to be seen, which she COULD.
And notice how Jack almost acts EXACTLY like Anna, and the fact that she was isolated from her own sister? Yeah. This alternate universe theory really kind of highlights how much she missed Anna's free-spirited playfulness, and a product of that is Jack's happy-go-lucky personality.
AND THEY ARE VERY MUCH TOUCH STARVED. So imagine the look on her face when she finally felt like she could touch someone without hurting them. The good ol' "See? It didn't hurt me." Type of thing. BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT SHE'S BEEN LONGING FOR. THAT'S WHAT SHE SOUGHT. AND HE GAVE HER THAT.
She just longs for something or anyone who's like her, she longs for anyone to understand exactly how she feels. Someone who completes her.
AND THAT SOMEONE IS NOT EVEN A REAL PERSON HE'S MADE UP
Also the fact that he made her see a different side of winter. Instead of just.. cold, scary and empty, it was fun. They did little snow tricks in her room, they probably did ice skating and a bunch of stuff to change the common thought when people hear the word "cold" or "winter".
Like- I need someone to write this AU for me. Like- I wanna see her slowly realize that everything, him. It's all in her head. To show my own two eyes how heartfelt their friendship were up until THAT breaking point where she's just like, "is it.. real?"
And she just cries in her room at the thought of her best friend being F A K E.
Also maybe boyfriend too idk 😈🙈🙊

Grimm's Deltarune Secret Boss Masterpost
I've decided to make a Blog specifically for my Deltarune Fanart, Ideas, Concepts, Etc so I decided to make a masterpost for all my Secret Boss OCs.
Get Ready for heeps and heeps of lore and ocs.
Sketchit, Main Secret Boss OC.
TL;DR - Secret Boss for my main Deltarune AU/sidestory about an art studio. She's a forgotten sketchbook and is a conspiracy theorist who needs to prove herself right. Eventually she turns into a sick spider god for her Boss fight thanks to an artifact.
Lore - Sketchit used to be the main bosses apprentice, some would say his favorite apprentice. Well, until she was thrown to the streets when she wasn't useful to him anymore. She was distraught and broken and looking for answers...and someone gave her a sliver of the truth. A mysterious man told her something about the truth...and left her to figure out the rest...and oh boy she's trying. She began making theories and fully believing them until the story she made seemed to devolve and become very, very complex. Eventually, The Fun Gang came along and got split up. Kris and Ralsei took a wrong turn and met her. She explained the truth of this world and Ralsei interjected, saying that she was way off. Sketchit was pissed and, after a fight, told Kris to bring her an artifact in the main boss's fortress. If you break into the Librar(b)y and find the artifact, Sketchit will break through the wall, steal it, and read through it to show she was right...but she wasn't...she was way off...Sketchit didn't know how to feel...but she knew what she had to do. If she wasn't right, then she had to make it right...and Sketchit absorbed the Artifact to turn her into the spider god form I talked about. You get the Purple soul and kick her into the ground until she dies and she can finally rest...
Fredde-E, funni little guy
TL;DR - Fredde-E is THE burnt Ice-E box that was buried in the graveyard and now wants to be the king of fear. He eventually does become the king of fear through a contrived series of events and you kick his shins.
Lore - Fredde-E once wanted to make friends. He was once a humble little guy who just wanted friends...until the friend he tried to make burnt him alive and threw him in a ditch. But he felt something during that encounter, a new feeling. Something bonechilling that he had to share. He felt fear, and he wanted more of it. He took up arms, getting his claw from a...very interesting character...and went to try and scare people. Unfortunately he's adorable and no one found him scary, which really upset him...until the Fun Gang arrived and he found out about something he could do to finally be the "Nightmare-E King"...if you do his side quest he knocks you out and drags you to his lair where you have an epic anime battle with him with the Orange Soul where you kick his shins in until he feels that same feeling he felt all that time ago...but this time I'd be his last...
Tumbal, Your Old Pal
TL;DR - Locked in glass when the show was over / his body stood still and his mind would wander / a mysterious man appeared one day / and took the last bit of sanity away. / unlock the Box the Gods had forgot / and walk inside for his end was for not / one last show would be his last / but this last show would be one hell of a blast...
*snaps from the audience*
Lore - Tumbal was once the sheriff in an old western show, but when the show got canned and the cast left, he stayed behind in that set and was locked behind a pain of glass. His mind was left to rot and wither until he was demented and violent...and a strange crystal from a mysterious man only increased this. Eventually, Kris came alone and saw him behind his glass, and if you do the side quest, you and the Fun Gang will enter the set and get to meet Tumbal for one last show where you use the Green Soul and kill him.
Snakeyes, A new face in the worst of places.
TL;DR - Okay so there's Snake and there's Eyes, they may be the same person but different personalities. Gaster gives Snake a Shadow Crystal which makes him extremely violent, crazy, and obsessed with gambling. After some casual violence and being kicked to the streets, Eyes locks Snake up and he'll only show up if anything gambling were to show up which would never happen...right? They gave him dice, didn't they? Damn it.
Lore - So Snakeyes is the secret boss of a Dark Web "Chapter 2.5" Dark World. He's a "Fluffy Pony" Video. Which if you don't know, watch Cupcakes HD, then you will. Snake actually hit it off with the resident gang of the dark world and was on a hot streak...until the House decided to kick him out and rob him. He was distraught and took a strange crystal from Mr. WD Man and went insane. After beating the living hell out of the gang that threw him out, Eyes took over and was beat up and thrown to the streets. Eyes tried to lock up Snake in their mind and would only get out if anything gambling related was shown to him...and if you want to fight him, you do. Snake shows up and SUMMONS THE DEAD and you have to fight him with the Blue Soul untim you beat him up and he and Eyes die ): .
Other Secret Boss OCs I've made.
-Hattyr - A lost hat that gain the power to control the shadows and wanted to take revenge when The Spooky Bois came in and made his Dark World Spooky. He has a cool Secret boss form and you use the Orange Soul.
-Sadedown - A Reindeer Pez dispenser that Susie bit in half that took revenge by role-playing as Noelle to trick Susie to kill her for mutilating her. She uses the Blue Soul in her fight.
-Shröd - My fursona as a Chapter 2 Secret Boss thats a old folder of bad cat memes. They are definitely not Temmie trust me bro and you fight them in their Paradox Forme with the Light Blue Soul.
And that's a fraction of the secret boss ocs I'm comfortable sharing in this masterpost. I will probably be posting about them here and I hope you enjoyed at least one of my characters (let's be honest, it's Tumbal.)
#deltarune secret boss#deltarune fan character#deltarune#deltarune oc#deltarune au#deltarune fanart#secret boss#Why did I write a whole poem for Tumbal?#One may never know the reason
