still thinking about that post about the line from HoH about percy threatening to tear gaea apart with his bare hands after everything that happened…. that rage resurfacing after he hears about jason. demanding an audience with zeus and standing in the throne room built for twelve-foot tall olympians, staring zeus down and threatening to topple that giant throne. summoning a hurricane to carry him up so he can get right in zeus’ face about how zeus swore on the river styx that the gods would be better to their children, but their children keep suffering and dying. percy should’ve known the gods wouldn’t change their ways, but he will demand it of them anyway. if they won’t change, he’ll make them. he’ll drown olympus, drown a city in the sky (zeus’ realm) until the gods have paid for what they’ve done.

Leo Valdez x Child of Zeus⚡️
Pairing(s): Leo Valdez x Gn!Reader
A/n: I used power inspo from the fanon wiki
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Leo saw you around camp he immediately thought you were hot
It’s just how Leo is 💀
He started asking about you but is actually hesitant to approach you because well
You’re intimidating as hell
Not to mention how most times when he sees you, you’re busy being the obvious leader and accomplishing what you need to do
It’s not until you run into Jason, your brother, at camp
From there you end up with the seven and so interacting with Leo became inevitable
But the very first conversation you had wasn’t exactly the best
Capture the flag was in session for the evening and you eagerly joined in
Unlucky for Leo though, he was also forced to join
On the side opposing yours
It wasn’t an unusual game as man made mechanisms sprung at you while being attacked by other campers
Leo just happened to be by his teams flag at the time
He wasn’t paying much attention and was just trying to tinker with the machines to pave a way out for himself
His reaction was delayed
Maybe he freezes or was entranced, you’d never know
But you came at him from above using your flight ability and tackle him, successfully retrieving the flag
The very conversation was only two words
You asking “ can I take that?” And him responding with a distracted “yes”
Once the games over and your victory was made clear your team began to gloat
At the same time Leos team was shitting on him and he was just there staring at you
You sorta thought his weirdness about it was cute, and you were sorta sorry about it and apologized
He was shocked u even talked to him and sorta just nodded
Since you became apart of the seven, you two began talking more
The next few conversations you had were started by you because although Leo was interested he knew he couldn’t trust his voice
Then you sorta forced your way into his inner circle
Not that he minded
You two became inseparable and Leo, as much as he loved you, he was scared of you
What caused this?
Well besides the fact that you were confident and good in anything you did
You also fought like no one he’s seen before
Even better than Jason, sorry not sorry
Maybe even Percy? Might be stretching it
But he was just shocked at how well you fought with your weapon of choice
Along with your powers too of course
Because of your godly parent zeus, you’re more athletic, agile, etc than the average demigod
So he can rely on you when you’re ambushed and doesn’t have to worry
Although he does kinda get insecure that he can’t protect you back
Just tell him it’s fine and reassure him
It’ll be ok
You can be a bit intense but Leo? I don’t think he minds at all
Honestly Leo does not know how he bagged a baddie but I mean 🤷
Since you’re a stereotypical child of Zeus then Leo being your boyfriend is quite a shock to anyone who finds out
Despite the shock you two balance each other out
Many people see you as this big deal and are often times scared of you even
But Leo is just so silly and goofy around you, it’s nice
I previously mentioned that Leo would get sort of insecure
He’s probably be a bit worried to some extent over his abilities to yours
Because although he’s decent, well that’s all he is in his eyes
So knowing that a good amount of people want you, well it doesn’t help
Just reassure him because blud will get caught up in his head
Especially since a lot of people he used to be into, wasn’t exactly into him
Although the pairing is a bit unlikely everyone you tell is happy for you two
Piper cheers him on and Jason congratulates him

Why Didn't Jason Remember Reyna?
Okay so I'm a diehard Jeyna shipper and Jason stan and Reyna stan respectively.
And it always made me so sad that Jason didn't remember Reyna, while Percy remembered Annabeth.
But the thing is? Jason did remember her. Maybe not in the way that Percy knew Annabeth, but he knew there was someone he should miss. Someone he cared about.
Think of it this way. Percy didn't necessarily remember Annabeth because of his love for her, he could have remembered her because Hera let him.
We see Chiron's conversation with Jason, we see Jason's reaction at the arrival at CHB, he knows that's enemy territory. Jason was at Camp Jupiter for years, raised in a strict Roman society. He would have been educated on the Greeks and taught that they were enemies.
But Percy wasn't. In The Titan's Curse, he's like "What's so bad about San Francisco?" (Yes, I know that was also partially about Mount Othrys but shh) The Greek demigods were hardly ever told about other pantheons. Percy wouldn't have felt any sense of hatred towards the Romans, he would have just thought "Oh, fellow demigods, cool." (Like when he refrained from killing or hurting the demigods on Kronos' side too badly in The Last Olympian.)
If Hera had let Jason remember Reyna, he most likely would have pieced things together much more quickly. He would've thought "I need to get out of here and find Reyna." Jason is naturally a pacifist and he wouldn't have wanted anyone to get hurt, so it's just better to run. He finishes the quest (because he's noble like that) and leaves.
So this then begs the question- what would have happened if Jason somehow made his way back to Camp Jupiter? Spark Notes Version: he would head back, meet the Hunters along the way, and see Reyna when he gets back. Then we have maybe four months-ish (???) until Percy comes. This gives Jason enough time to become settled in again and finally start dating Reyna.
Then Percy comes along. But Jason hasn't told Reyna everything that happened while he was away. Jason automatically realizes that "Oh no, this is Percy Jackson, from the enemy camp we're not supposed to interact with."
I think Reyna would want to train him as a Roman demigod and try to brainwash him (for lack of a better word) and Jason's like "No, we need to send him back and get rid of him, now." This also raises an interesting point with Nico, but we'll talk about that later.
Reyna agrees to send him back, but she puts him on the quest first.
When the CHB demigods come in, Jason comes to the grudging realization that he does need to work with them and this is inevitable. He's part of the Seven. So he goes on the quest and ends up making some pretty great friendships. (I have some headcanons about this, feel free to ask.)
He then comes back and everyone works on bridging the gap between the two camps with an exchange program and he's still working on recognition for the minor gods.
Instead of going to the all-boys school, he enrolls in some community college classes in New Rome. He's in a healthy relationship with Reyna, he started seeing a therapist, he's going pretty good.
Then The Burning Maze rolls around. He helps Lester. He doesn't make it out alive.
Reyna is heartbroken. But she goes on to join the Hunters of Artemis because as much as she loves camp, she wants to see what's outside.
And everyone, I hope you enjoyed my dissertation.

play stupid games, win stupid prizes chapter 3
A shout jolts her awake, her heart racing as she sits up way too fast making her head spin. Where is she? What is she doing? The blankets and room are unfamiliar to her in this disoriented state.
Light is coming through the window though the sun hasn’t completely risen, illuminating the bundle on the floor next to the bed.
Right. Jason’s party, the spiked punch, Percy leading her to bed—
Another shout rings the room, and she realizes it’s Percy. He’s thrashing a little, clearly having a nightmare of some kind.
Sliding off the bed, she kneels beside him. His face is contorted, and she feels her own eyebrows scrunch at seeing his face like that. She reaches forward, trying to shake him awake.
“Percy!” she says in a hushed tone. “Percy, wake up.”
Before she can shake him again, he jolts up, his hand grabbing her arm that was on his shoulder. She catches a glimpse of his wide panicked eyes before she is yanked down beside him, face inches away from his.
Percy’s eyes are closed again, his face still scrunched up, and he’s still gripping her arm. It doesn’t hurt but she’s a little scared at the reaction.
“Percy,” she tries again, trying to wiggle out of his grasp. He pulls her closer and now their bodies are touching, something she tries and fails to ignore.
In response, he thrashes more, bringing her half on-top of him. She lets out a muffled squeal at the action, her face undoubtedly turning red.
“Percy, wake up,” she says a little more forcefully. Her other hand is a little freer in her new position and she finds herself touching his face. “Hey, Percy, you gotta wake up.”
The touch makes him shiver and she knows because she feels it. He’s so close, his face still only inches away when his eyes finally open and he blinks slowly, coming to.
For a second all she can see are the sea-green of his eyes before he finally rasps out, “Annabeth?”
“Hey,” she replies, not knowing what else to say. Her own head feels pulled in ten different directions.
He immediately lets go of her arms and she quickly backs away a little, relieved that he’s awake.
“What…”
“You had a nightmare,” she starts to explain, somehow feeling like she needs to justify why they were so close and how she ended up half on-top of him.
He nods, clearly still processing and she quickly stands up to face the window. (And control her breathing because she has never been that close to Percy Jackson of all people).
“What time is it?” she asks, trying to talk about anything other than what just happened.
“Almost five in the morning.” His voice is still raspy. She turns back to see him standing up fully.
“Damn, we still have school.”
Percy lets out a small groan at her words as he stretches. (She doesn’t watch his back muscles).
“Fuck.”
For once in her life, she fully agrees with Percy Jackson’s sentiment.
-.-
It’s a miracle she makes it to school on time. By the time she woke Thalia up, she barely had time to grab a slice of toast before they both drove to Piper’s so Annabeth could at least change into the clothes she’d brought and grab her backpack. The three had made it to school just before the first bell.
Already the noise of the crowded hallway is making her headache worse. She’s still waiting on the Advil to kick in and wondering why she thought drinking for the first time was a good idea on a Tuesday night.
Percy’s voice from last night flashes through her mind I asked if you wanted some, I didn’t tell you to drink. That’s your choice.
A bad choice, apparently—well, at least until the Advil kicks in.

[image description: a purple banner that has the words "work in progress" on it. end of description]
@ternaryflower53 inspired this with a lovely comment on the boudoir photoshoot fic appreciating my personal favorite bit to write: supportive big sister Thalia!
I proceeded to run away with it. Whoops.
Without further ado:
Untitled Thundersibs Coming-Out Fic!
Hey. There's something important I need to tell you. Can you come over sometime soon? Don't worry; I'm okay.
Thalia tries not to let herself catastrophize as she drives, but it's surprisingly difficult. Typically, when Jason needs to talk, he'll just use his key: she'll find him in her kitchen banging a tray of macarons on the counter, and he'll get whatever it is out of his system while he bakes and leave the treats with her to distribute among the girls at the shelter.
He's nervous about something. Nervous about her reaction. He wanted to prepare in advance, be on his home turf.
"He is not dying," Thalia mutters to herself, her jaw clenched. "If he were dying, they would have found it when they were testing him last year. It's just the fibro. He's just too tired to come to you."
That line of thinking is better, but it still doesn't help much. Ever since his most recent knee surgery, Jason has been feeling sickly and under the weather; on bad days, he can't even stand to be touched without flinching, which throws most of Thalia's methods of comforting him out the window and leaves her helpless.
There's nothing she can do to fix his pain. She can't soothe it away with a kiss. She wishes desperately that she could take it from him, suffer it so he doesn't have to. He's suffered more than enough already.
She pulls into his driveway, her heart fluttering in her throat like a terrified hummingbird, and parks Medusa behind Jason's blue minivan. There's a bumper sticker on the back.
If you can read this, you're too f**king close!
It probably came from Nico, whose PT cruiser is next to Percy's bike in the open garage. Of course they're both home; Nico doesn't have class on Fridays, and Percy's on the closing shift at Spectrum.
"Stop it," Thalia whispers to herself. "If it was something bad, he wouldn't have told you he's okay. Calm down."
(She doesn't quite believe herself. Jason's not exactly the type to let on when something's wrong; telling her not to worry is almost reflexive for him, at this point.)
If it is bad, he'll need her. That thought is enough to kick her into movement.
Her mind races as she gets out of the car and squelches through the mud to the front porch. It's a good thing she wore boots today, but she always forgets how much colder it is outside the city, and her black jean jacket is too thin for the salty air.
At least it gives her a reason to be trembling slightly as she rings the doorbell.
Percy's the one who answers. He's flushed, but he's smiling as he pulls open the door, paneled in stained glass, which is a good sign. If something was wrong, he'd know, possibly even before Jason did.
"Shoes off so Nico doesn't kill me," he says cheerfully, dragging her into a hug once she's inside. "Your baby's just getting dressed. We were thinking we'd have coffee here, then hit the new Thai place downtown, if that's cool with you."
The embrace lingers for a second, and Thalia pretends she doesn't appreciate the warmth. She nods against Percy's shoulder, clears her throat and steps back.
"Are you making the coffee?"
"Of course I am." Percy heads for the kitchen while Thalia crouches down to unlace her boots, calling over his shoulder so she can still hear. "I'm only banned from touching the espresso machine before ten in the morning, and it's past noon. Mocha, right? Double shot, half and half?"
He says it casually, but it's proof that she's not hiding her tension. They're a lot alike in a lot of ways, including their caffeine habits; he knows it'll calm her down, but he also knows she'd rather not admit it.
"Sounds good," she answers, glad he can't see her smile.
She leaves her muddy boots by the door and pads into the living room on socked feet. The couch is empty. She can hear new wave music upstairs (probably Nico in his study), movement from Jason and Percy's bedroom just down the hall, and the hissing of steam from the kitchen.
It's okay. He's okay. He's fine.
The door to Jason's room opens. She hears the jangling of a collar and her baby brother's sweet, soft voice as he talks to the dog. She can't quite make out the words, but she can tell that she was right; he's nervous.
She wants to get up and run to him, throw her arms around him and pull him tight and tell him everything will be okay. She forces herself to let him gather whatever courage he needs to, to wait for him to come to her.
She sees Mrs. O'Leary first, her huge tongue lolling from her mouth as she trots into the living room entryway. Jason follows closely behind, using her to brace his weight.
No. To brace her weight.
That's a woman, standing shyly in the doorway with her dog at her side.
She's tall, with long blonde hair that falls in soft waves over her shoulders. The dress she's wearing is simple, but elegant, made of white fabric patterned in pink and purple roses. Her feet are bare; the dress looks handmade, but shoes are going to be a little trickier for her, as big as she is.
Her eyes, lined with gray liner and shimmering with pearlescent silver shadow, are wide and lovely and terrified.
The instant relief is so strong that Thalia bursts out laughing without meaning to. Before her sister (holy shit, she has a sister) can get the wrong idea, Thalia springs to her feet and strides over and hugs her, as tightly as she can.
"Oh, honey, I thought— you scared the fuck out of me; I thought you were going to tell me something was wrong!"
All at once, her baby sibling relaxes like a popped balloon. Mostly, anyway; her arms stay where they are, locked tight around Thalia's waist.
"I don't know why I was nervous about how you'd react. Percy kept telling me it would be okay. I should have listened to him."
"Rubes, we've been over this. That's your dad's fault, not yours."
Thalia turns her head. Percy's in the opposite doorway, beaming from ear to ear, a mug in each hand. He looks proud, besotted and a little smug, and for once, she has absolutely no desire to question his ego.
"Rubes?"
"She goes by Ruby when she's in Girl Mode," Percy explains, venturing fully into the living room. "Two doubleshot mochas for my favorite pair of sisters." He sets the mugs on coasters to protect the coffee table and heads back into the kitchen, whistling something upbeat and in a major key.
"Which isn't all the time," Ruby adds, blushing. "I'm trying out 'genderfluid' as a label, but I know for sure I'm nonbinary. I still have Jason days."
"But sometimes, you have Ruby days, too," Thalia finishes, startled to hear herself choking up a little. She reaches up and gently cups Ruby's cheek. "Which is a beautiful name for my beautiful baby sister."
"Tell her the rest," Percy calls, over the sounds of making his own coffee.
Ruby takes Thalia's hand and leads them to the couch, Mrs. O'Leary following obediently beside her.
Her eyes are misty. Thalia's heart thuds in her chest at the open emotion.
"Actually, Ruby's my middle name. My first name is Renée, after the best mom a girl could ever ask for."
The world stops spinning. All that exists is their hands, squeezing tight.
Up until this moment, Thalia has mostly heard that name spoken in anger. Thalia Renée, are you listening to me?
This time, this one single utterance, erases all of those memories and leaves behind nothing but joy.
She breaks down sobbing, beyond any words more complex than I love you, thank you, I'm so happy for you. Ruby indulges all of it, laughing and trembling from what must be a ridiculous amount of left-over adrenaline, never loosening her grip.
Mrs. O'Leary, bless her, even puts her enormous paw in Thalia's lap as though to console her. Not that she needs consolation; it's just that an emotion this huge can't help but spill over.
The best mom a girl could ever ask for.
"I guess I must have done a decent job," she sniffs after a few minutes, wiping at her eyes with her sleeve. "I raised a pretty fucking kickass daughter, anyway."
Ruby (it suits her; elegant and ladylike and vibrant) just beams back at her, still holding her hand.

    "Nico?"
Jason said in surprise once he opened the door to find the omega who was feeling like his feet were cemented to the floor. Nico said nothing aside from staring at the much taller alpha in front of him with wide eyes with an expression as speechless as his vocal chords.
Jason, who was also silent, looked at him with concern-filled eyes as he momentarily glanced behind him where Nico caught a glimpse of Percy sitting on the bed. The boy turned his attention back on Nico and motioned for him to join them inside the cabin, and Nico followed with his feet simultaneously feeling heavy and weightless at the same time.
Not one of them spoke a word for a good few minutes as Nico tried to think of what to say, but his mind was consistently coming up blank. Thankfully, Percy decided to cut the tension first after another couple of moments filled with nothing but silence.
"We were hoping you'd come around," he said. Nico caught Jason giving him a wary look. "Me and Jason were, uh, having a pretty hard time leaving you alone after...you know."
"Yeah, Nico. It was weird being so attached and then going back to basically ignoring each other all of a sudden, but...we're glad you showed up." Jason added on, but Nico was suddenly filled with heightened annoyance.
"If you wanted to see me so bad, why didn't either of you come and find me?" the omega asked; his tone sharp and piercing, but he soon felt bad after the two alphas shared the same expression with one another.
"You're not exactly the most approachable--"
"What Percy is trying to say--" Jason interrupted after throwing a warning glance his way. "--is that we weren't sure if you wanted space or if you wanted to talk, or...you get the gist."
Nico stared at the floor as he hugged his knees to his chest while still sitting on the edge of Jason's bed. He couldn't find it in him to be angry anymore; no amount of energy in the world could make him want to be irritated when everything he wanted was right here--sitting on either side of him.
"You're right. You're both right," Nico said at last. "You guys have taken such good care of me over the past week, and I can't even express how grateful I am. I guess I don't blame you for being unsure of what to do with me after everything was over."
"Well, I think we know exactly what we wanted to do with you," Percy said before turning beet red after realizing how that must've sounded. "Wait, that's not-I didn't mean it like--"
"Percy," Nico turned to face him. He couldn't help but laugh a little, and that seemed to smooth over everything. "I know what you meant."
    "...You do?" Percy said skeptically.
"I think so," Nico answered. "Or, at least I have an idea."
"And what's that?" Jason asked him as Nico took a deep breath.
"These last few days have been...Well, hectic, if I'm being totally honest. But they taught me something," the omega paused as he looked back and forth between the alphas. "I'm having a really hard time trying to imagine a world without you two in it, and I don't think I can do it...like, at all. I mean, hell, I couldn't even spend one night without breaking down and coming back here to find you both because it didn't feel right to be somewhere without you."
Just saying that made Nico feel so much better. However, he was still nervous as he studied their reactions closely.
"Nico...Percy and I have been talking about that pretty much all day. I think it's safe to say that we all want the same thing, but we just weren't sure if you were going to be on board. If we had known we would be having this conversation so much sooner."
"I'm more than just 'being on board'," Nico said sincerely. "Gods forbid I'm dreaming right now because I want both of you so much, and you know what? I'm glad we're at least having this talk now rather than waiting for who knows how long."
"Couldn't agree more," Percy said and with that, Nico pulled both alphas into a much-needed kiss that he had deprived himself of all day. The moment was so tender and sweet as they took turns sharing kisses and meaningful caresses with one another until the omega pulled away.
"But seriously, I have a question," he said which got both alpha's eyes fixed on him once more. "Will one of you please tell me how I acted or if I did anything embarrassing while I was in heat? I can't remember anything and it's driving me up a wall." Nico immediately regretted asking the question when he saw Percy and Jason look at each other with smirks gracing their faces.
"I mean...you were acting like a typical omega in heat, if that answer suffices," Jason said.
"No, like, I need specifics. I don't know what that looks like because when I said I can't remember anything, I can't remember anything." Nico persisted.
"Alright, you want specifics?" Percy asked.
   "Yes, please."
    "Fine, I'll give you specifics."
Nico then had to endure Percy doing the most gods-awful impression of the whiniest sounding omega he had ever heard begging to be fucked in various ways.
"I do not sound like that!" Nico insisted as he tried his best to hold back the laughter that was threatening to take over his entire body after sitting through Percy's terrible impersonation of him.
"Yes, you do! Plus, how are you going to try and deny that when you just said you didn't remember anything?"
"Okay, I might not remember much, but I know for sure I didn't do that--" Nico said through his own laughter as he tried to regain his composure. Instead, he looked to Jason for reassurance that he did, in fact, not sound like that. "Alright, Jason--same question," The omega said finally.
"No comment. I cannot confirm nor deny that you, Nico, did or did not act like that whilst you were under the conditions of a heat." Jason said all of that with a sad attempt at trying to keep  neutral expression, but Nico could see the corner of his mouth twitch as if it wanted to shape itself into a smile.
"You're such a fucking liar!--" The omega exclaimed as he threw one of the pillows at Jason's who promptly caught it and threw it back until a full-on pillow fight ensued.
Once the excitement had died down, Nico found himself straddled over Jason's hips with their faces just inches apart. A rose colored blush crept up to his cheeks that made him all-too-aware of their situation that made him even more flustered when he realized that Percy was sitting close behind him.
"I guess there's only one way to find out if you really are that cute and whiny out of heat as much as you are in it," Jason said cheekily as he flirtatiously reached up to tuck a lock of Nico's hair behind his ear.
"I think I really like that idea," Percy agreed; his voice easily adding to the suggestive nature of their newfound conversation.
"Only one way to find out," Nico murmured.
"Only one way to find out," Percy echoed with a soft chuckle.
                            ~•~
“Fuck, it’s bigger than I thought,” Nico  clutched Jason’s shoulders as the alpha inserted his cock into him inch by inch.
Part of Nico wished he was still producing the unbelievable amounts of slick he was capable of when he was in heat to make any kind of penetration just even a little bit easier, but now he was facing the reality of what an alpha’s cock really felt like any other day of the month.
Jason leaned down to kiss the side of his neck while Nico did his best to relax as much as he could. His cock was stretching his pussy open almost to the point where it was bordering on painful, but with Jason kissing his neck paired with Percy sitting behind him and playing with his hair, Nico decided it really wasn’t so bad once he got used to it.
Aside from having to adjust to the new sensations, Nico was focused on how much he could feel. Not only physically, but emotionally as well since he felt overwhelmed by the clarity of love he felt for both Jason and Percy currently there with him.
Nico could actually process his emotions for once now that he was done being in heat, and it truly felt like entering Elysium for the very first time. He thoroughly adored how real everything felt, and he knew he wouldn’t trade it for anything. Nico supposed it really was like a dream come true after all—nothing could possibly be more perfect than this moment.
Speaking of perfection, the three boys each gave one another the most perfect night ever, which was full of experiences none of them would ever forget.
They took everything slow—which Nico greatly appreciated. The night was filled with pure pleasure (and lots of positions), along with a couple love confessions thrown in here in there.
Nico distinctly remembered Percy on top of him with their foreheads pressed together as Jason laid on the right side of them who was holding his hand while Percy knotted him. Nico also discovered that getting knotted out of heat felt completely different since he could recognize the stretch that was definitely there, but because it was his alphas knotting him he hardly cared about the pain.
Once they were finished and the clock was just minutes away from daybreak, Nico rolled over into Jason’s side after grabbing Percy’s arm and securing it around his own waist.
They talked for a while like they always did after sex (that was one of the few things Nico remembered happening while his brain was essentially putty), until Nico began to slowly drift off back into much needed sleep while being completely safe and in his new alphas’ arms.
    The
        End.

Sooooo I'm re-reading Heroes of Olympus and just finished House of Hades. If you've been around here you've probably guessed that Nico Di Angelo is my favourite character.
This book annoyed me to Tartarus and back.
I want to rant a little so let's take a look at these together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Every time someone is around Nico they think about how disturbed or freaked out they are in his presence. And we know this because we are literary IN THEIR HEADS.
The only person who thinks about him with compassion or understanding is Hazel. (Because she's the best).
She relates to his experience through hers. Which makes sense because they are similar in so many ways yet different. And I guess you could argue that it's easier for her because she is his sister and he is her only living relative, but every one of the seven has some kind of trauma in their past, they are on this epic quest together knowing that their failure would mean the end of the world. They have to trust each other if they want to survive but at no point are they like "what if we got to know this dude in case he was my only way of getting out of a sticky situation?" or you know "what if I tried to understand his powers better so if needed we could devise strategies combining our strengths to make an effective team?". This is baffling to me.
I guess the series is more focused on the action and monster fighting than team bonding and friendship. Which is a loss. Especially since they still find time somehow to all end up in romantic pairs. (I can't believe we were told that Hazel and Piper bonded over their power and swordfight training but never got to see any of it)
And what the fuck with Percy going around telling people that Nico is a traitor and whatnot? #NotMyPercy
So to get back on track, can someone explain this to me?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First of all, this is pure hypocrisy on Jason's part since it took him a very long time to decide which side he was on. He knows how hard it is to struggle between who you are and the ways others see you, what they expect of you. So why would he say this as if not only is Nico being a coward (makes me mad just writing this) but also a stubborn child? Especially after he had a small yet very powerful front seat view to Nico's pain?
And Will... Not only was he the equivalent of Thalia joining the hunters, Calypso staying on Ogygia and Rachel becoming Oracle (as if percabeth is so fragile a ship anyone being single could break it. Shows how unfit for each other they really are but whatever) he also dropped out of nowhere to completely invalidate Nico's very canonical experience. Hate this guy.
Nico can see people's reactions to his presence, he is not blind nor is he stupid. So why do we have this? If just being in the room while it is absolutely required makes people on edge why would Nico think that it's okay to sit by their side and make small talk and laugh about stupid stuff. Did logic jump off the Argo II when the seven boarded?
Why would Nico be unjustified to think this?
Tumblr media
Yes, sometimes reality is warped by our own self loathing, and I'm not saying that it is not partly the case here, but this is all just ridiculous. It's like Riordan forgets stuff as soon as it's written down.
Oh, and this:
Tumblr media
I love how they both find it weird that someone has Nico's back for once. As if it's not something a friend or even a teammate would be expected to do.

Jason Grace and Octavian, pt 2
The Weight of Duty
Long ago she’d found him in this place, protected him, nurtured him, chosen him, but if Jason showed weakness, she would tear him to shreds.
The weight of duty is something Jason has carried all his life, the duty to lead – to be the best. We see here that spending time with Lupa as a toddler marked Jason out, he was chosen. Much in the way he was chosen by the Romans. And the parallel continues, because when Jason did “show weakness” when he tried to change the name of the legion, they turned on him – almost rising up in mutiny.
These expectations are repeated over and over in the Lost Hero. In the same way that Percy retained the memory of Annabeth, Jason retained the memory of his duty.
Last night when he’d called down lightning, the other camper’s reaction had seemed familiar to him. He was pretty sure he’d been dealing with that for a long time – people looking at him in awe just because he was a son of Zeus, treating him special, but it didn’t have anything to do with him. Nobody cared about him, just his big scary daddy standing behind him with the doomsday bolt, as if to say, Respect this kid or east voltage.
And what expectations had Jason been burdened with?
Jason had tried to act brave at the campfire, but it was just that – an act. The idea of going up against an evil force powerful enough to kidnap Hera scared him witless, especially since he didn’t even known his own past. He’d need help. [Lost Hero]
Everyone seemed to thing he was so brave and confident, but they didn’t see how lost he really felt. He could they trust him when he didn’t even know who he was? [Lost Hero]
He had a horrible suspicion that he would be expected to lead those other demigods, and he was afraid he would fail. [Lost Hero]
Jason had been trained never to show fear. He was sure of that form his dream with the wolves. He was supposed to act confident, even if he didn’t feel it. [Lost Hero]
It's the brave face. It's never showing fear. It's always leading the way - confident, disciplined, with a plan.
But during the Lost Hero, we see Jason reject that idea over and over.
He'd need help. [Lost Hero]
[Piper's] face was pale, but she gave Jason a determined look, and he understood the message: Keep their attention. I’ll brain them from behind. [he follows her plan after this]
They unloaded on the tarmac, and everyone looked at Piper. “What now?” Jason asked her. [Lost Hero]
So we see Jason not only state he needs help, but also let others take on the role of leader. He defer to Piper.
And there's a greater rejection. A resentment for being a pawn on a chessboard:
Jason’s skin tingled. He hated being a demigod.
And again,
Mostly, though, Jason worried about what Leo had said. Jason didn’t want to be a bridge, or an exchange, or anything else. He just wanted to know where he’d come from.
This idea, while referring to the correct situation, in many ways also refers to Jason being used as a piece in a deal between Jupiter, Juno and Beryl. He is a pawn being moved around. Has been all his life.
Even without his memoires, he remembers that feeling.
Did he ever belong?
Was anyone searching for him right now? [The Lost Hero]
It’s interesting that, in Son of Neptune, the only person looking for Jason is Octavian.
“Jason isn’t dead,” Hazel snapped. “You’re the augur. You’re supposed to be looking for him!”
“Oh, I am!” […] “Alas, after eight months, I’ve found nothing. Of course, I’m still looking.” [Son of Neptune]
No one on Jason’s list of friends has gone out to search for him. Reyna has the excuse of being praetor – she can’t just swan off on a quest. But everyone else? Not so much.
Hazel, it seems, never considered breaking the rules and hunting him down – or even to request Reyna give her and other members of the Fifth a quest to find him. It’s been months.
It's even implied, by "Jason isn't dead" that Octavian has predicted he will be. Where is the concern for him? For all the main character's hatred of Jason, Octavian is the only one looking for him. He's even standing in the temple of his enemy (Jupiter) in a bid to find Jason.
Of course, Octavian has been fighting the will of a goddess (Juno) while trying to find Jason. Yet he hasn’t given up. Even, perhaps, after a vision of Jason’s death (which we know happens a year later).
Later in the series, Octavian and Jason are enemies. That’s undeniable. But seems, at this time, Octavian hasn't given up on Jason. Much in the way he doesn't give up on Reyna until long after she's given up on him.
To the Romans, Jason was an ideal. Not a person.
Hazel might have looked up to him. But hang out with him? Comfort him? I don’t think it ever occurred to her.
Even Reyna, I don’t think she was aware of Jason’s inner turmoil. And Jason isn’t the type to open up about it. He broods, he doesn’t talk. He puts on his brave face and becomes near impossible to read.
Only one person in the series seems to be able to - and that's Piper.
“It wasn’t your fault,” Piper said.
He looked at her blankly. “What?”
Jason blames himself for getting caught in a trap. Piper cuts through Jason’s walls, intuiting his feelings. She lets him know he doesn't have to take responsibility.
No other character does this as well as Piper. Being comforted isn’t a common thing for Jason. As much as Jason comforts Piper in the books, Piper is often the only person who comforts him. And I think it’s one of the key reasons why Jason opens up so much to the Greeks.
His wall slowly comes crumbling down. But unforunately, it goes up again in Mark of Athena. I believe after he gets hit by that brick. It awakens memories he didn't necessarily want to recall.
Jason was great, of course. But sometimes he acted so distant, like last night, when he’s been reluctant to talk about that old Roman legend. So often he seemed to be thinking of his old life at Camp Jupiter. Piper wondered if she would ever be able to break through that barrier.
The trip to Camp Jupiter, seeing Reyna in person, hadn’t helped. Neither did the fact that Jason had chosen to wear a purple shirt today – the colour of the Romans.
At this point, Jason has his memories back. But those memories feel wrong to him. And he’s working through them. Unfortunately, he chooses to work through them alone. He doesn’t trust Piper (or any of the Seven) to understand.
Because most of his memories make him, he fears, into a person they won’t like. A person, perhaps, he hates.
(Perhaps - the person who was once friends with Octavian)

Villain Leo AU: Open Up Your Eyes
inspired by the below video:
youtube
A HoO AU where Zues (Misspelled on purpose cuz I don't like him) doesn't free Calypso, instead, Calypso dies when Leo tries to free her from Ogygia. Furious at the gods for killing the love of his life, and especially furious that because of his 'destiny' his mother died, he starts a rebellion against the gods with a bit of a push over the edge from Nemesis, his old nemesis (haha I made a pun). Leo journeys down to Tartarus to rally all the monsters for revenge on the gods, and roughly 5 years later (see note at bottom for ages), with the promise of Olympus' destruction, Leo finally accumulates enough monsters in his army to send a team of monsters with the help of a rebuilt Festus to attack camp as a way of getting rid of Olympus's main line of defence. The rest of the Seven, believing that Leo died fighting Gaea, are heartbroken, but they carry on with their lives, until yet another threat appears. No one realises that Leo is the mastermind behind the attack, until Piper and Jason put two and two together and realize that Festus was the dragon who attacked camp. The Seven refuse to believe that their friend is evil, but Nico notices the amount of fire used by the mystery army. He keeps his suspicions to himself, but is later proven right when Leo launches a full scale attack on Olympus, riding at the frontlines of the battle on his loyal dragon. Each of the Seven try to get Leo to stop the attack, and even Nico tries, referring to his reaction to Bianca's death as a way to find common ground. It fails. Instead, Leo turns on Piper, knocks her out (this phrasing was totally not a reaction to Piper's claiming), and retreats to his hideout in the ruins of Mount Tam.
Then (start playing the song now) Piper wakes up in a celestial bronze cage, and asks Leo why he's doing all of this (Note: He made anti-charmspeak earbuds but Piper doesn't know that and tries to charmspeak him as a last resort which obviously fails). Leo explains that the gods have brought him nothing but unhappiness, loss and pain, how Jason and Piper, his supposed 'friends' never tried to help him, left him to be a seventh wheel, and that the Seven are foolish to help the gods. Piper however, manages to make a secret Iris Message to CHB. Meanwhile, Frank and Hazel go to get reinforcements from Camp Jupiter, and Jason receives Piper's IM, and makes plans with Percy and Annabeth to get Piper back and end this war, even if it means killing Leo. When the reinforcements arrive, CHB and CJ attack Mount Tam. Jason and Nico make it to the peak where Piper is being held. Jason confronts Leo (cue the angsty reprise) and they fight while Nico frees Piper in secret. As Leo and Jason fight, Leo starts having regrets, because as much as he hated and resented Jason for having the perfect life and making Leo feel left out, he still felt a spark of amicability towards Jason and didn't want to kill him. The last straw is when he glances down the mountain and sees all the rage, fighting and destruction he's caused because of his selfish need for revenge. Leo stops fighting suddenly just as Jason lunges, and before he can stop his movement, IVLIVS has driven itself through Leo's heart. Leo gives him a smile, and jokes dryly that he'd rather die now than face his father and get put in godly timeout, then dies. Leo goes to the Fields of Punishment in Hades for a century, but Hephaestus pleads with Zeus about how Leo was like Luke; a misguided boy blinded by rage, and Zeus begrudgingly allows Leo into Elysium to meet his friends and reunite with Calypso, who slaps him and asks him 'what in Hades was he thinking to start a rebellion against the gods because of her' but then promptly kisses him and they live happily ever after. Sort of.
(Leo, Jason, Frank and Piper are 21, Percy, Annabeth and Reyna are 23, Hazel is 18, and Nico is 19)
Yes, I know it's angsty, but I love angst and that's no shocker honestly- Also Nemesis was a bit peeved at Zeus because in some versions of her myth she was raped by Zeus and so she saw Leo and thought "Aha looks like the perfect opportunity to get back at Zues" and actually didn't get punished because basically got outta there before Zeus could figure out she convinced Leo to rebel against Olympus.
Also wow how the heck did I get all of this from a male version of a MLP song-
Edit: Just realised how well Ready As I'll Ever Be from Tangled The Series fits this AU so I'd cast the roles as:
Leo - Varian
Piper - Queen Arianna
Eugene - Percy
The Guards - Jason and other demigods
Cass - Reyna and Annabeth alternating
King Frederic - Frank
Rapunzel - Hazel
Instead of someone being injured, the dialogue between verse 1 and 2 is Percy comforting Jason and telling him, ''Of course we'll get Piper back. I mean, why wouldn't we with those two in charge?'' *camera pans to Reyna and Annabeth on a pedestal above a sea of demigods*
Also Frank would say that he had to pick up some new arrows from the Apollo cabin in the dialogue between verses 2 and 3.
Apart from that it would be pretty much the same.

invisible string
read on Ao3
Missing scene from Mark of Athena- Annabeth realizes the curse of Achilles is gone.
Annabeth wasn't one to call fighting monsters fun, but she might just have to make an exception for ones made of tar.
Okay, so the actual monsters hadn't been fun. And really, fighting monsters was never really fun. But she couldn't deny that there was something exhilarating about fighting alongside Percy again, after so many months apart. She had been worried that they might be out of step, that the distance and the time might have weakened the bond they shared. That Percy's memories wouldn't quite be the same, or still be distant and fuzzy like Jason's. But they were as in sync as ever. As soon as the first monster had risen from the tar, all it had taken was one glance to solidify their strategy for dealing with it.
Add in Percy's new shape-shifting friend Frank for a speedy getaway, and Annabeth had the most fun she had had in months. Of course, there was still the minor issue of actually getting the ship in flying shape once they got back. And being separated from Percy again, even if it was only a few floors away, instead of hundreds of miles. And the aftermath of trying to get the tar out of her hair– that had been something Annabeth seriously never wanted to repeat.
But something was bothering her, something she didn't have the time or mental energy to explore until she was sitting on her bunk, trying to dry her hair. Percy had fought impressively; he always did. But he hadn't been the one-man army Annabeth had gotten accustomed to, during and after the war. He hadn't been invincible.
She wasn't sure– wasn't positive– but her gut was telling her that something was off. And she thought she might know what, even though the thought of it made her stomach do somersaults.
They were going to have a meeting in the mess hall soon, and she didn't have a lot of time. But she had to know. So Annabeth slipped out of her cabin, making her way towards the one she knew Percy had claimed an hour or so earlier. She knocked, but didn't wait for a response before opening the door.
"Hey," Percy said, sitting up from his bunk. He looked pleased to see her, his classic troublemaker smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
"Hey yourself." Annabeth said, letting herself in and shutting the door behind her. It wasn't technically allowed for them to be in the same room together alone, especially with the door closed, but Annabeth had brought her invisibility cap just in case. She could probably slip it on fast enough to avoid being caught. Probably.
Percy scooted over, making room on the bed for her. She sat down next to him, and he wrapped his arm around her. It felt so nice to just be together Annabeth almost didn't bring it up, but the long, shallow scratch on the arm holding her made that impossible.
She traced the scratch with her finger. It shouldn't have been possible, and yet here it was, staring at her in the face.
"It doesn't hurt." Percy said, noticing her attention, but misreading her concern.
"But it shouldn't be there." Annabeth said.
Percy looked at her strangely, like he didn't understand what she meant. Annabeth felt a cold and familiar fear in the pit of her stomach. Ever since they had cracked Hera's sick riddle and figured out that Percy and Jason had been swapped, Annabeth had been haunted by the very real possibility that even if they managed to find Percy, he wouldn't remember her. Obviously that hadn't happened, but this wasn't a small thing either. What if Percy's memories weren't as intact as he was letting on?
"The curse of Achilles," Annabeth prompted, trying to keep the fear out of her voice, "You should be invincible."
"Oh! That." Percy said, recognition finally flashing across his face. Annabeth was suddenly torn between abject relief and the very strong urge to yell at him for making her panic. She settled on relief.
"I had to give it up when I crossed the Tiber.” Percy explained, “Hera– or Juno, whatever, she said it was a Greek curse, that I couldn't carry it into Roman territory."
Without thinking, Annabeth took her free hand and slid it around Percy's back, brushing her fingers over the small of his back, his Achilles heel. Percy had told her that it felt like a thousand little lightning bolts were racing up and down his skin, when she touched it. She remembered the look in his eyes when he had guided her fingers there for the first time, equally terrified and exhilarated. She got no such reaction now; just a sort of sad apologetic look.
She pulled back her hand. Annabeth had already known intellectually that it was gone, but it still felt like something had snapped inside her.
"Oh." Annabeth said.
"Disappointed?" Percy asked. He was studying her expression carefully, like he was trying to decipher a puzzle.
Annabeth sighed. She'd originally started calling him Seaweed Brain because he could be so obtuse sometimes, especially when it came to reading her. He hadn't even realized she liked him after they'd kissed in that stupid volcano, for gods' sake. But the longer they knew each other, the more difficult it became for her to hide anything from him. He was actually surprisingly perceptive, especially now that he knew to be looking.
"No, no." Annabeth said, wrapping her hand in his, "I just– I don't know. It feels like a bad omen."
"I've honestly gotten used to not having it." Percy admitted. He interlocked his fingers with hers, and Annabeth was pleased to find that they fit together as perfectly as they had before. That, at least, hadn't changed.
"You never really needed it." Annabeth said, truthfully. Percy had always been a skilled fighter. And, okay, maybe it had been necessary for the war, but only because they had been so hopelessly outnumbered. But unless they were facing 250 monsters to one demigod again, Percy could easily hold his own without it.
"You're still upset though." Percy noted.
Annabeth bit her lip. She felt a bit stupid for it, but she wasn't really upset about Percy losing the protection. Sure, it sucked that he was a little more breakable now, but he hadn't exactly been very breakable to begin with.
In truth, she felt worse that the connection between them forged by the Achilles curse had been wiped away. Not just her having taken that knife for him, though that was part of it. Percy had told her later that the thing that had kept him tethered to his life, to himself when he bathed in the Styx had been her. She had been his lifeline, literally. Maybe that was how she had known to take that knife for him in the first place, because that little spot had tied them together in some hallowed, inseparable way.
And now it was gone, along with their matching grey streaks, the only other physical reminder of the bond they shared. Annabeth was embarrassed to admit how much it had upset her when the grey had finally worn out of her hair.
"It's just... I don't know. It feels someone cut an invisible string between us." Annabeth said.
Percy nodded, like he understood, and Annabeth knew he did. knew he was thinking of all the same things she was. As if to prove it, he took his free hand and brushed the one curl that had once been grey behind her ear. She, too, could pick out his strand of hair that the sky had marred, even if it had turned dark again.
"I felt like that too, at first." Percy admitted, "I didn't want to give it up. I knew it was important somehow. But I also knew if I wanted to see you again, it was the only way."
Annabeth looked in his eyes, warm and earnest, and felt something in her chest glow. It was still incredible to her that he had remembered her, despite Hera's full force. She knew it had to have been him, and just him; Hera hated her too much to leave the memory of her in his mind.
"I guess I can deal with you being a little more delicate. As long as we're together." Annabeth said. Percy smiled, squeezed her hand.
"Delicate, huh?"
"Like fine china." Annabeth teased, "I'm going to have to watch out for you."
"You always watch out for me." Percy smiled.
"Somebody's got to." Annabeth said.
They sat quietly for a minute, just enjoying each other's company.
"You're still my lifeline, you know." Percy said, suddenly, "Wiping away the curse didn't change that."
It was Annabeth's turn to squeeze his hand, because if she tried to speak she thought she might cry. She settled for kissing him instead, slow and sweet, revelling in the fact that he was finally back with her again.
They only broke apart when Annabeth heard footsteps coming down the hall. She managed to shove her hat on just as Piper knocked on the door.
"Come it!" Percy called, desperately trying to straighten out his shirt. Annabeth bit down the urge to laugh.
"Meeting in the mess hall in five." Piper said, poking her head in the door, "You too Annabeth."
"She's uh- she's not here." Percy said. It was so deeply unconvincing, what with Percy's flushed face and mussed hair, that Annabeth actually had to cover her mouth to prevent a giggle from escaping. Piper smirked. Even if she hadn't been a daughter of Aphrodite, the scene would have been fairly obvious to most onlookers. And Piper was most definitely a daughter of Aphrodite.
"You're a terrible liar." she said, amused, "But whatever. If you happen to see her, could you let her know?"
"Yeah. Yup. I can do that." Percy said, but Piper had already disappeared down the hall. Annabeth shimmered back into view, unable to hold back her laughter anymore.
"Is she always like that?" Percy asked, his face still red.
"Oh yeah. I think you're going to like her." Annabeth said, standing up, pulling Percy with her. They walked down to the mess hall hand and hand.
So maybe the curse was gone, and the grey streaks in their hair had faded away. But they didn't need those physical reminders of each other, not really. He had remembered her, and she had found him. They were tying new invisible strings to each other, ones that couldn't be severed by any sword, or any river or any god.
And Annabeth had a feeling this was just the start.

Note
I just read your recent post about Percy and Jason being compared and stuff, and was wondering if you have any headcanons about the big three kids when it comes to tickling? <3
I would love to!
Percy:
. Alright, so Percy is like... unreasonably ticklish. His mom used to tickle him all the time when he was a kid, but as he grew older he managed to convince her his sensitivity had worn off. Of course that brief respite only lasted so long before he came to Camp Half-Blood and everyone discovered his secret.
. His worst spots are his armpits, ribs, and feet. I also believe that his lower back is unfairly ticklish ever since the River Styx, and even after the curse wore off the spot remained hyper sensitive. Annabeth likes to trace her nails softly over it while they’re cuddling until he collapses until a giggly puddle in her arms.
. He loves being tickled, as it makes him feel loved and wanted, but he has a difficult time admitting it. Annabeth is the only person he’s told before, but the others have put in their guesses by this point. His go-to method is just provoking people into tickle fights until they wreck his shit (which, you know, same).
. As a ler he’s super playful and teasy. He’s one of those people that uses baby talk when he’s tickling others and it flusters the shit out of people. Overall, he’s the biggest switch out of all of them.
Jason:
. So Jason’s not super ticklish actually.
. At first.
. He’s really good at hiding his sensitivity because Thalia used to tickle him all the time as a kid and so he’s used to defending against it. The only people who know are Piper, Leo, Percy, and Nico. Piper, because his neck is deathly ticklish and it makes making very giggly. Leo, because he’s a persistent little shit and wouldn’t stop trying until Jason finally broke. Percy only found out after play wrestling took a right wrong turn. Jason actually ended up confessing that he didn’t mind tickling to Nico, and whenever the former was stressed about something then Nico will softly tickle his sides until he forgets about it.
. His worst spots are his sides and neck, as well as the backs of his knees. He will kick you if you get him there (luckily Piper knows how to defend herself and uses this information to her advantage often). His laugh starts off as these huffed, breathy chuckles, but once he really gets going he starts letting out these deep belly-laughs that rock his whole body. Nico says it only adds to his Superman aesthetic. Jason got him back mercilessly for that comment.
. He’s a fairly gentle ler, not liking to push people’s boundaries too much and always worrying that he’s going to far. He loves seeing his friend’s smile however, and he finds Piper’s laugh adorable, so he has been known to ler on occasion. His most often victim is Nico, and possibly the only person he doesn’t hold back on. He knows Nico loves it though and needs to laugh, so he’s happy to engage him.
. He and Percy can get into the occasional competitive tickle fight and everyone backs off when they’re in that mode, afraid of getting pulled in.
Hazel:
. God help this girl...
. She’s basically a walking tickle spot. A single poke to the side will get her to jump and squeak, and she’s one of those people who will start giggling before you even touch her.
. She’s ticklish everywhere, but her worst spot is her stomach and knees. One time Percy tried to show her the spider-knee trick and she near lost her mind.
. Has the cutest fucking giggles man, like, it is not even fair how adorable she is while being tickled. Will double over and turn into a squirmy puddle in your arms, but cannot fight back to save the life of her. Almost everyone on the Argo II tickles her just because her reactions are too great not to. Frank is the most often provoker of these moments, as he loves making her smile, though he’s a fairly shy ler himself.
. Contrary to popular belief, Hazel is a vicious ler. She knows everyone’s death spots, though no one is sure how she does, and she will exploit them if needed. Don’t get me wrong, she can’t defend herself for the life of her while being tickled, but after? You better start running.
. Sometimes she’ll team up with Nico and have him use his skeletons to hold the victim down. Together they make an unstoppable combo.
Thalia:
. Like Jason, everyone assumes she’s not ticklish. But whereas Jason was good at hiding it, no one ever tried with Thalia; they were all too scared of retaliation. Not even Jason knows, as he was almost always the victim of their fights.
. One day when Reyna and Thalia are hanging out (which a lot of the time translates to making out with the two), Reyna’s fingers brush against her sides and she accidentally giggles into her mouth. Reyna’s eyes widen and Thalia freezes up in her arms. She narrows her eyes and does the whole “Don’t you dare-” spiel, but it’s too late and soon she’s squealing and pleading underneath Reyna’s skilled hands.
. So now every time Thalia is trying to act tough and all high and mighty in front of the others, Reyna will squeeze her sides in passing and let the others sort out the accompanying squeak for themselves (to this day Reyna is the only one who’s gotten away with tickling Thalia successfully).
. Her worst spots are sides, like her brother, and her hips. Has this adorable, girly squeal that she’s super embarrassed about though Reyna assures her it’s cute.
. Doesn’t like to be tickled that much, and will tell everyone she knows that she hates it. She doesn’t mind really soft, gentle tickles though, if it’s from people she trusts (i.e. Jason and Reyna).
. The cruelest fucking ler, she will wreck her victim until they are a shrieking, begging mess. A merciless demon who cannot be stopped, she’s struck fear in the hearts of many. Jason used to be her most common victim, though now it’s usually Reyna. Percy once pissed her off and he was giggling for several minutes after she stopped he may or may not have tried to provoke her into it again later whaaaat
Nico:
. BABY.
. Literally so ticklish, how is he still alive??? Maybe it just runs in Hades children.
. Will insist he’s not ticklish and that he’s grown above “such childish nonsense”. Percy, of course, knows this is bullshit as he used to tickle him all the time as a kid and remembers that he used to love it. Sometimes he’ll bring it up when he’s denying it to others and Nico will turn this bright, cherry red and snap at Percy to shut up.
. He can’t even admit it while he’s being tickled. In the same way that he could be dying and insist he’s fine, he could be curled up on the ground and giggling like a child and still wheeze out that he’s “not ticklish”.
. His worst spots are his hips, feet, and thighs, as well as his shoulder blades (Will is the only one who knows about that last one and loves to torment him with it).
. He has these adorable high-pitched giggles that are interspersed with hiccups and squeaks when it gets to be too much for him. He flails a lot when tickled, and generally has to be restrained for fear of injuring someone.
. Contrary to his adamant denials, he loves being tickled. My boy is super touch-starved and loves the physical closeness that tickling brings. I also think there’s something about that fluttery, desperate quality to it that he loves and is flustered by all at the same time.
. Will, Jason, and Percy all tickle him constantly, and he loves/hates it.
. Loves to be a ler almost as much as he likes being a lee. He’ll smirk and taunt his victim while holding them down with skeletons and wiggling his fingers right above their death spots until they can’t help but break down laughing before he’s even touched them. He tickles Will and Jason the most (he’s gets too flustered to even try tickling Percy), though he will tickle Hazel on occasion because he likes seeing her happy.
Thank you for the ask!

You were excited to reunite with your friends after so long, but being tied up and held hostage at knifepoint by the people you love who don’t even remember you wasn’t the welcome wagon you were hoping for. Then again, as a child of Calliope, you can’t say you’re surprised.
Apollo has a lot of kids, but demigod children of the muses are exceptionally less common. They’re volatile, really powerful, extremely engrossed in their art, and usually care more about their latest thesis paper or painting or manuscript than going on quests, and more often than not have very specific powers. You, for example, love quests but feel like you never get to go on any, usually because you’re fighting monsters somewhere else. One fun little power you inherited from your mom is - somewhat involuntary - dimension shifting.
A lot of times you just get summoned somewhere else, with a little inherent background knowledge and your weapon, set free into the new world like a horrible sexy little goose. There’s usually some kind of objective you need to meet; find this person, set something in motion, give someone support in a time of need, deliver a package. After that, you get sent back to your family at camp half blood. The catch, one of them at least, is that a few days Somewhere Else could be no more than a few minutes in your homeverse.
Another catch is that because of all that, and the fact that you wouldn’t know how to begin explaining, let alone if anyone would believe you, no one knows you can do this yet. Chiron has an idea, but you’ve never told anyone outright.
You guess now is as good of a time as any to come clean, as Percy holds his sword threateningly close to your neck. You let out a disbelieving laugh, and bite the inside of your cheek.
“Okay, okay… you want the truth?” he starts to back off, and you continue, leaning forward, “I’m not surprised you’d want to know where someone this sexy-” your words cut off as Annabeth’s hand slaps you across the face. You let out a laugh of disbelief, cheek stinging.
“A cheap shot, Annabeth? Wow, I really didn’t take you for the type,” she grabs your face, leaning in close, knife once again against your throat.
"How do you know my name." She hisses, and behind her, the door opens. Messy dark curls peek over her head in your vision and you know instantly who it is. Your heart starts pounding, loud and hard, and something heavy starts swirling deep in your gut. Your eyes lock as soon as he enters the room and an instinctive smile blooms on your face, knowing what's inevitably on its way.
"Hey Sparky…"
Your voice, slow and drawling (and, he'd be lying if he didn't say kind of very sexy) impales him as soon as he enters the room. He watches your pupils expand, eyes locked, immediately swept away by your magnetic aura. A fox like grin decorates your pretty face, and he gets the feeling you know more than you let on. Way more. He's so drawn to you on a guttural level, way more than he's ever been to someone before. His face is hot, and when you slowly wink at him, he feels flames erupt on his cheeks. It takes him a second to put it out, feeling your white hot gaze on him the entire time.
Piper, who's been helping with your interrogation, looks back and forth between you two as this progresses, taking in a breath and mumbling a shocked, "Oh," as she begins to understand.
"How are those repairs coming?" Jason asks, oblivious to everything that's happening between you two.
"Uh… nearly done…" Leo mutters, watching as you hold back an elated giggle at the sound of his voice. You never forget how good it feels to see him again, but the fresh feeling is always better than you can imagine. Jason glances between you two, and walks over to Leo, suspicious of your interest in him.
"I'll walk you back," Jason says, glaring at you. Your eyes stay locked with Leo's until the door finally closes again. Piper stares at you, bewildered by the tension turned to frantic energy crackling around both you and Leo. She can sense it on him even after he's out of the room.
Annabeth finally drops your face, pacing and pinching the bridge of her nose. Percy slams him hands down on the table and levels his face with yours.
"I'm gonna ask you one last time. How do you know us?"
You stare at the table for a second, still thinking about him. You have to see him again. You’ve waited for too long, you just can’t do it anymore.
“H- okay. Um,” You blink a few times, facade falling away almost instantly as you look up in a silent prayer that this doesn’t go as badly as you feel like it will. You sigh, looking back up at the other people in the room, a new, deliberate intention in your eyes that they hadn’t seen before.
“You want to know why I’m here?”
Their answer is the silence that follows.
“You’re not gonna believe me.” They look around at each other, collectively thinking about everything they’ve been through in the last year alone.
“Try us.” Annabeth replies. You sigh again, and introduce yourself. “...I’m a child of Calliope, muse of epic poetry, and I know you all because we grew up together. One of the fun - quirks, I inherited from my mom is traveling into different stories, or realities, I guess. It’s hard to control, and sometimes happens involuntarily. I adapt to wherever I am, and the universe sort of auto adjusts to follow the rules that stories have to follow.
The reason you don’t remember me is because I was gone for a really long time, and your story had to keep going. Trying to find me wouldn’t have moved the plot forward, questioning where I went would have been confusing, so it did the simplest thing and edited me out so you could get closer to meeting your objectives.”
Once again, their silence is your answer.
“Guys, sidebar.” Annabeth says, pulling Percy, Jason, and Piper out of the room for a moment. The come back in a little while later, and she looks you dead in the eye.
“If you really know us as well as you say you do, prove it. Tell us you’d only know if we were as close as you say we were.”
You sigh yet again, having lost count at how many times that’s happened today alone. You roll your shoulders and bob your head, irritable that you’re still restrained and itching to move.
“Is there anything we can do before the whole tell me something really personal thing?”
Percy looks at you, challenging.
“Can you do it or not?”
Another noise of exasperation leaves you, and you agree, resignation all over your face.
“You know what, yeah. Okay, we’re doing this. Someone go get Leo.” An involuntary smile once again launches onto your face at the mention of his name. Jason starts to object.
“Hey, I’m not going to spill something personal about someone when they’re not in the room.” They agree reluctantly, and Jason leaves, returning again with Leo. You look at him again, enraptured by his presence. He can’t say he doesn’t like the attention - a hottie like you looking at him like that? Yes, please - but something about it feels different, and he gets the feeling there’s a lot more going on than they’re aware of.
You nod your head once, indicating for him to come closer. He gets a little closer. You widen your eyes, nodding two more times, and he hesitantly gets within whispering distance.
You turn your head to your left, dangerously close to his face. He can feel his pulse already speeding up. Heat radiates between your faces, your breath fanning over his neck as you whisper slowly,
“You really… really like holding hands, and when I pull your hair during sex.”
He pulls away from you quickly, beet red, bewildered expression obvious to everyone in the room. “H-how-”
“How do you think?” You reply calmly, loving everything about him, “Okay, to be fair…” you nod once more, eyes flaring, and he leans in once again, equally hesitant and curious. Your words tickle his ear, seeming to light up his entire nervous system like a firecracker.
“I really really like when you bite that spot on my neck, just below my ear.”
He pulls away again, trying not to literally and figuratively combust. He stares in your eyes intensely, searching for anything besides the truth. He finds absolutely nothing. He turns around, unable to look his friends in the eye.
“They’re legit, guys.”
“Wait, what did you say to him?” Piper asks, unsure if she wants to know the answer.
“Yeah,” Annabeth agrees, “what if it’s some kind of mind control-” Your deep, burning desire to finally hold Leo after god knows how long is starting to beat your better judgement, and you really, really want to be untied from this stupid chair. “Annabeth! Your favorite show was Cyber Chase growing up, you used to come up with plans on how to defeat Hacker, your best was cutting off his food supply - good strategy, I’ve used it before, myself.
Percy, you feel like you can’t sing because you were forced to participate in an elementary school recital and some kid called you tonedeaf behind your back, it kicked you right in the RSD balls.
Piper, you’re a closet weeb, you watched Ouran High School Host club obsessively and still do sometimes, you fell for Jason because he had, quote, 'Tamaki's looks and Kyoya's brains, the ideal man'.
Jason, that scar on your lip is from biting a stapler as a child-"
"Okay, everyone knows that-"
"-and," you continue, showing no signs of stopping, "the reason you ate the stapler is because you were pretending to be a trash compactor because you saw one on TV.
Nico is totally not right outside the door keeping guard right now, but if he were and you asked him if he likes the diary of a wimpy kid movies he'll ask how the hell you know that - should I continue."
Again, the answers are in the silence hovering in the room.
“I think it’s about time to catch me up on what I missed.”
A beat passes.
“Right,” Annabeth says, blinking and readjusting her ponytail as she sits down across from you, Percy already taking the bindings off of your wrists, “so, about the quest…”
She starts to fill you in on the details you missed, bringing you up to speed. After a little while you all decide to call it a night. Piper senses your energy ramping up in spite of the exhaustion settling in. You finally bid them all good night, but Piper’s not sold by your forced yawns. After what feels like another lifetime, you finally leave the room you’ve been in for hours with one objective.
You can’t stay away from him anymore, you have to find Leo.
After navigating a maze of hallways and doors, you finally push open the right one to see him looking up at you, and find yourself saying for the second time tonight,
“Hey, Sparky…”
His heart is racing, and he gets that heavy, full feeling in his chest again, not having fully shaken it from the last time you saw each other. Looking into your eyes makes him nostalgic for something he can’t quite remember, and he knows with full certainty that you have more history than he’s aware of. He wants more than anything in this moment to remember. He sets down the wrench in his hand, taking a step toward you.
“Hey…”

✨My (maybe) Unpopular Heroes of Olympus Opinions✨
(maybe part one??? idk)
-I don’t really ship any of the main canon ships in HoO. None of them had any chemistry and most of them are either pedophilic, forced and rushed, or toxic in some way
-Most of the characters that were shoved into relationships (Leo, Nico, and Hazel especially) really did not need a love interest to complete their character arcs and their relationships ended up boring and flat cause Riordan just wanted everyone to have a love interest and it never went deeper than the skin
-Piper took advantage over Jason’s amnesiac state and manipulated him. She really went ‘But what if he has a girlfriend he can’t remember 👉👈 it would be wrong to start a relationship with him while he still has amnesia 👉👈 and cause it was based off lies and fake memories 👉👈 lmao imma just jump all over him and make him fall for me while he’s still amnesiac 🤪’ as if that’s not taking advantage over someone’s mental state
-And then she blamed her relationship being forced on Aphrodite and Hera saying they ‘forced her into a relationship’ and ‘arranged their relationship’ even though Aphrodite never said anything about or did anything to them and Hera gave Piper fake memories of them being a couple but it was Piper’s conscious choice to act out on those memories she knew were fake and her relationship was in no way influenced by anyone (especially Hera and Aphrodite) other than herself
-Shelper and Solangelo were way too rushed and forced (inside and outside of the books) and were only added for publicity, plus it seems like most of the fandom only like them cause they’re LGBTQ+ ships
-I hate Pipeyna and Pipabeth. My girls (especially Reyna) deserve better than some manipulative little girl who went ‘we were friends? no weren’t ❤️’
-The fandom portrays the characters really inaccurately (tweaking them a bit for humor is fine, but changing their entire personality is a different thing)
-The movies actually aren’t that bad when not compared to the books (I mean, you gotta admit- it’s pretty good effects for 2010)
-And speaking of the movies, they did a better job at portraying Thalia and Annabeth’s relationship in one movie than Riordan did in 5+ books
-Speaking of which, Riordan wrote pretty much every platonic friendship that weren’t Thalia/Nico and Reyna horribly and most of them shouldn’t have been friends and wasted all the potential for the good friendships
-Calypso should’ve joined the Hunters, not Reyna
-Annabeth and Piper are horrible friends lmao (separately and together)
-Silena is a hero and deserves redemption, but Luke doesn’t despite most of the fandom agreeing he does (he was a pedophile y’all)
-The fandom over-exaggerated the Tartarus fall, it wasn’t really that bad tbh
-Reyna is stronger and a better leader than Annabeth
-Annabeth’s intelligence is more tell than show (and quite a few characters including Leo, Reyna, and Octavian have shown more intelligence than her)
-Riordan over-glorifies and overpowers Percy way too much. Just cause he’s the main character doesn’t mean he has to be the best of the best after barely 8 months of training (four years at CHB only in the summers is 8 months total)
-Speaking of which, Jason can beat Percy (8 months versus Jason’s twelve years) and so can Annabeth, Reyna, Thalia, Hylla, Luke, Hazel and maybe Frank and Nico. Percy’s skill is overrated and unrealistic
-And I feel like most of the fandom knows that Jason can beat Percy but just doesn’t want to admit it cause they like Percy more
-Same thing with the Greeks and Romans- the majority know the Romans are stronger and can easily beat the Greeks but they don’t want to believe it cause they favor the Greeks more
-Percy and Annabeth shouldn’t have been part of the Seven, they already had their chance to shine. Riordan should’ve brought minor characters into light instead
-And Piper shouldn’t have been part of the Seven either. Riordan really expects me to believe that she’s stronger, more powerful, and a greater/better hero and deserved to be part of the Seven more than Reyna, Nico, Clarisse, Thalia, etc.?
-Riordan’s women line-up of Reyna, Annabeth, Hazel, and Piper was really cheap and boring (Avengers: Endgame women line-up who?)
-Percy (in HoO) and Piper are easily some of the worst, most underdeveloped characters Riordan has ever written
-Annabeth got really bland and weak in HoO and couldn’t do shit for herself without others (especially newbies) having to help and/or save her. She pretty much became exclusively Percy fangirl
-As much as I like them, Frank and Hazel don’t have what it takes to be Praetors and Reyna and Jason should’ve stayed as them
-Jason’s whole ‘am I more Greek or Roman’ arc was dumb af
-Riordan’s bias towards the Romans is also dumb af (the Romans could beat the Greeks in an instant)
-Jeyna is and always will be 1000x better than Jiper
-Hazel is the most powerful demigod (way more than Percy and even Jason)
-My hot take on who should’ve been the Seven: Reyna, Nico, Thalia, Frank, Hazel, Leo, and Clovis (son of the god of sleep puts Gaea back to sleep who?)
-Riordan confirming Piper bi was a cheap move to make her more likable. It didn’t even make any sense. A character is confirmed LGBT only after they become a minor character despite being a main character before and kisses some random unnamed girl only three months after her ex-boyfriend whom she still loved dies??? girl what??? Kinda obvious it was just for publicity. Like- Riordan, honey, the LGBTQ+ community is not a circus you can plop your characters into to make them more entertaining❤️
-The PJ series as a whole isn’t that creative. It’s legit just a copy of exactly what past mythological figures have already done and a bunch of character tropes and clichés shoved into one book
-And in general it’s not even that well-written (like HP, it’s over-exaggerated a lot)
-All of the romantic relationships and platonic friendships are extremely unrealistic. Like they never argue/fight, disagree, etc. (then grow stronger from those fights) at all??? Even if they’re complete opposites???
-Reyna is the best-written character in the whole series and a queen she deserved better and y’all sit on her too much
-Theyna is ✨amazing✨ their dynamic and chemistry was just *mwah Pansexual Muslim blessings to you* and people are allowed to ship them even though they’re Hunters and swore off love
-Rachel doesn’t deserve all the hate she gets. Y’all hate on her cause she crushed on Percy when half of you are doing the same thing and then y’all go and ship Percy with Nico, Jason, Artemis, Athena, etc.
-If y’all want to hate on Jason for ‘not having a personality’ you’d also have to hate on most of the main HoO characters except Reyna, Nico, and Leo (and maybe Hazel) for the same reason cause they have the exact same problem tbh
-Zoë and Bianca’s deaths weren’t actually that sad. We didn’t get to see them enough nor did they have enough development for their deaths to have a real impact. The only sad thing about them was Zoë’s last words and Nico’s reaction
-Thalia needed more time in the books
-Reyna was the only main female character in HoO that wasn’t a boring, bland Mary Sue that all the other characters automatically loved. She was the only one with real flaws and distinct personality traits she’s my queen
-Piper, Annabeth, and Calypso did have flaws but the fact that they weren’t called out by other characters or even noticed are what makes them Mary Sues. It doesn’t matter how many flaws a character has, if they’re not called out by other characters (more specifically, other protagonists who actually like them) they don’t count as real character flaws
-Riordan can’t write female characters for shit
-Clarisse, Drew, and Octavian deserved better than being completely antagonized for no explained reason other than to make the protagonists seem better and to make the readers root for them. Those three had more potential than most of the Seven combined
-The whole ‘Aphrodite kids don’t train’ thing is bs. It’s specifically stated that all the demigods follow a strict schedule and have to follow it or they’ll be on stable duty or smth and the Aphrodite kids shouldn’t (and can’t) be excused from that
-Therefore, Drew should be way more powerful and skilled than Piper, at least enough to not back down automatically from a duel by a newbie who hasn’t even learned how to fight (Drew can control an entire cabin of people at once and Piper can barely control one person at a time, who’s more powerful again??)
-Also I have no idea why Riordan portrays all the Aphrodite kids as weak and girly in the first place. ‘Femininity’ and ‘weakness’ are not synonymous and ‘love’ and ‘beauty’ don’t equal ‘feminine’
-Speaking of which, love is actually really powerful but Piper doesn’t stand for love or ‘inner beauty’ and all her ‘thoughtful/insightful’ quotes in ToA/TBM about love were complete bs
-Riordan using the LGBTQ+ community for the sole purpose of making Piper seem more likable and ‘special’ was disgusting and proves he thinks that straight is the default- “...Or Hera’s ideas of what a perfect couple looked like. Piper finding her own way, not the one people expected of her” my ass. In other words, he’s saying ‘The expectations for love and the idea of a perfect couple are a heterosexual relationship, and anyone who 'finds their own way instead of the ones people expect’ are different’. ‘Different’ and ‘default’ are antonyms, so if you think LGBT people are different, then you think that straight is the default. Aphrodite is the goddess of love not heteronormative bullshit. Like Riordan, honey, you’re the one who thinks that the expectations for love and the idea of a perfect couple are heterosexual couples, not fictional gods from a fictional mythology. Remember kiddos- an author writes their own beliefs
If you don’t agree with some of these that’s fine sis it doesn’t matter if you have different opinions than me❤️

Hey, I’m already warning that it’s Angst! So, what would Nico, or even most of Camps and Percy’s family and friends do if Percy die? This after the Giant War and he dies in a quest. What would they do?
I know this is a weird question but I need to know! I’m writing a story about this. But I wanted to know your opinion since your PJO stories inspire me to write!
Well, first of all, I'm very flattered that I spird you to write and I wish you good luck with your writing! <3
Then mh. Generally, I try to avoid death fics, both in reading and writing.
But in this fandom you can find great ways to work around it. So the real question is, where do you want to go with it?
Percy who dies, but due to his heroics in the past earned himself godhood and now his family and friends have to cope with the fact that he is dead and a god.
Percy who dies, but Nico says "fuck this shit", storms the underworld, grabs ghost!Percy's hand and does the second jail break because let's be real Thanatos owes Percy one for saving his life so he'd turn a blind eye and Hades doesn't even dare to speak up because Nico's been annoying him about Percy Jackson's pretty eyes for years now and if he doesn't allow Nico to steal the soul back, he will never hear the end of it.
Percy who dies and just... hangs out in the underworld. It's chill, honestly, he finally gets to bond with Nico who lives down there and they get together that way (I think I literally wrote that fic before. Or a Hades/Persephone/Percy fic. Or both. Unsure).
Percy who dies and becomes a ghost. New Rome is full of ghosts in canon, isn't it? Percy could just decide to hang out with his friends. Still painful, but they adjust to it.
Percy who dies and gets reborn and like 15 years from now, his friends get to meet him again, in a new body and have to cope with that.
Percy who dies and is just... gone.
Sooo, before you can really work on "What would they do?", you have to pick what you do. Where do you want Percy's death to go, because depending on the route taken, the reactions would vary.
Obviously, everyone grieves in their own way. So keep in mind how the characters act in canon. (Which, quite frankly, in the case of Nico really only leaves the "fuck this shit" Orpheus and Eurydice version, considering he tried to bring back Bianca for years and successfully revived Hazel.)
And "What would they do?" also depends on what you want them to do. Because if you stick with canon, most of them would just be sad for a bit and then move on, if canon's anything to go by. Annabeth in HoO never even mentions Luke or her grief for her first big crush slash mentor who had died just a few short months before. I refuse to touch ToA but from what I gather no one attempted to bring back Leo and they were all just kinda sad until he returned on his own. Jason's dead too now and I don't think anyone tried to bring him back either and Piper's already smooching her new love interest from what I've heard. And "camp" as a large entity wouldn't do much; all of them have lost so many siblings in the war and they moved on from it. They'd burn a shrout for Percy and move on from it, though he is our protagonist, in the general picture of a war riddled society with child soldiers who have lost dozens of siblings in the past few short years already, his death is not that much more significant than any of the others.
You can go with the route closest to what is considered "in character" by orienting yourself on the way these characters have been shown in canon to react to character deaths.
Personally, I think Riordan was a coward who vastly downplayed the PTSD, survivor's guilt and grief these characters should have been going through by the time HoO rolled around and I think that you should make the judgment call yourself. You've read the books, you have a feel for how they acted, how they felt, how they reacted. What do you think would be their appropriate reaction?
Sure, you could give me a list of characters you want involved in this and the scenario you want to go with and I can directly answer the question you asked and tell you how I think they'd react. And that can be a good guideline if you are unsure yourself. But at the end of the day, this is your story and it must feel like yours. You have to be the one who, when reading it, is satisfied by the reactions and behind how they acted. And that can easily be derailed by looking to others for guidance. That's not meant to be me declining your answer; if you do want to know what I think specific characters' reactions would be like in a specific scenario, then come back to me with that and I'll offer you my opinion.
It's more meant to be encouragement for you to look into yourself and test your own grasp on the characters and go with whatever reactions you think would be most satisfying; they don't necessarily have to be the most in character. Not just because sometimes, as above mentioned, "in character" can be dissatisfying and deliberately play down emotions a real person would be feeling in certain scenarios (often due to the author's own lack of knowledge about the specific scenario, deliberate ignorance or ratings; it's tough to sell a kids' book series if you genuinely confront the trauma that comes with the reality of being a child soldier), but also because sometimes, being more "out of character" is just... more fun, sometimes things are thought experiments, sometimes you want the extreme reaction because it makes for a better or more entertaining read.
Since this turned, uh, longer than anticipated, to sum it up shortly: Decide what Percy's death is supposed to mean in the larger context of the story and where you want to go with it, then decide which specific characters' reactions you're looking for. In some cases, you can easily compare to how they have reacted to a similar scenario in the past and then see for yourself if you want to stay in line with that reaction, or if you feel like a different reaction would be more appropriate, or just more fun to write/read.
You read the books and, I assume, enough fanfiction to know the characters and find your answer yourself, even if you're unsure about it right now. And if you do want more detailed input, you are free to come back to me with specifics, or message me in private and we can talk certain scenarios or particular characters you're struggling with through and I'll see if I can help you. ;)

(Y/N) - Your name
Plot: (Y/N) breaks up with a camper and finds out that he never liked them. (Y/N) gets upset and asks Hades, their father to kill them, so they can work with him, forgetting about their life.
Extra information: (Y/N) is a child of Hades, Nico is their brother.
Trigger warning: suicidal thoughts
Now was the time. I have to do it now, no more procrastinating. I walk towards the Mess Hall, taking deep breaths. I see Henry and walk over to him. “Hey, (Y/N)!” he says.
“Hey, Henry!” I say. “I have to talk to you about something….” “Ok,” He simply states. “Can we go somewhere….private?” I ask. “Sure,” he starts sounding bored, which makes me frown. We start walking in the direction of the beach.
“Look,” I say, when we reach the beach. “You don’t seem interested in this relationship anymore, I can see you like Sofia, so I’m breaking up with you,” I break it to him as softly as I can. When I look up at him, he has a huge smile on his face. “Thank the Gods! I was wondering when you’d break up with me,” he says.
“What do you mean? If you didn’t like us being together, why didn’t you just break up with me?” I ask him. “Well- um….” he stutters.
“Were-....were you scared of me?” I hesitantly ask. “Were you scared that I’d ask my father to do something to you?” I ask him. He starts backing away as if he was scared I would get mad, but my voice only got softer.
I was the one that started and ended this relationship. It was probably built on fear, and it’s all my fault. I could feel the waterworks coming on and wanted to go somewhere where no one could see me, but there was one thing I had to know. I could feel a knot forming in my chest, making it harder to breathe.
“Did- did you ever even like me?” I ask him. “Please, I need to know this, you can be honest, I won’t get mad,” I say. “No,” he replies softly. “No, I never liked you! I always liked Sofia! You were the one to force me into this relationship!” He starts gaining confidence after each sentence. “I- were you with Sofia the entire time?” I ask, looking down at my feet. He doesn’t reply and I have my answer. I nod and start walking off.
I never forced him to do anything, did I? I asked him on a date and he agreed….probably out of fear though. Everyone seems to be avoiding me recently. Am I really scaring people off? I try to be extra nice to everyone considering my father…..
I haven’t even seen Nico for a while, he must be keeping away from me. The last time we were together, we had a fight over the silliest thing, and I called him a- Oh my gods, I’m such a horrible person. I wasn’t enough for Henry, I’m not good enough for anyone. We were dating for almost a year now….
I start running as I reach Hades’ cabin, unable to hold the tears in anymore. I heard a few people call out to me, but I ignored them as I locked the door behind me, throwing myself on my bed.
Curling up into a ball, I start sobbing. Why?! Why am I never enough for anyone?! Why am I so useless!? What did I do to make people hate me or be afraid of me!? WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME!?!?
The voice gets louder and louder in my head. You are useless. You don’t deserve anything! Everyone hates you, and it’s good they do! Whoever comes near you gets hurt, or worse. You should be dead, no one would get hurt then. You know that Samuel died because of you? You couldn’t save him! You should have died instead of him!
Your parents would be alive if you were strong enough to kill those monsters! It’s all your fault!
I watched as that night replayed in my brain. I was watching, from behind the sofa, my parents being stabbed multiple times. My eight-year-old mind, too naive to comprehend what was going on, just following the instructions my mother told me. Tears were running down my face-
No, that wasn’t my fault, I was too young to know what was happening. Really? You’re a demigod, your stronger than an average human your age, you could have saved them! It’s all your fault! You’re useless, no one needs you, you’re just a burden to them.
Maybe I should just die, no one would miss me anyway, I have no friends. I sniffle. I can just feel the pain racking through my entire body. Everything feels empty.
I hate myself! Why can’t I be better? For my brother! For everyone!
I don’t know how long I was lying on the bed, but after a few restless hours, I fell into an uneasy sleep.
Once I woke up, I still had no motivation to get up, so I remained lying in bed, sniffling once in a while, trying to contain the tears as the negative thoughts started infiltrating my brain.
I am all alone. I have no one. Why am I alive?
A few days passed, but I didn’t bother counting. As nights and days ticked by, I only got more and more convinced that I had no point in living. Maybe I should just die. You know what? Once I die, I can work for my father, forget the real world.
Knowing I won’t have the courage to do it myself, I got ready. I shadow traveled to my father’s palace.
Nico P.O.V.
I came back from the task my father asked me to complete, Percy was hesitant to talk to me. I snapped at him to tell me what was going on.
When I found out what that- I don’t have any good names for him, did to my little sister, I just saw red. It took Will, Percy, Annabeth, Jason, Piper, and a few more people to stop me from chopping his head off, though I did get a few good punches in there.
The others told me they were concerned for (Y/N), that she hadn’t come out of the cabin for days. I shadow traveled to my cabin and knocked on the door. There was no answer. I tried opening the door, but it wouldn’t budge. “(Y/N)?” I called softly. Again, no reply.
I used my powers over the shadows to manipulate the lock into opening. The door creaked open, and I saw…
(Y/N) P.O.V.
I saw father sitting on his throne, talking to Persephone. “(Y/N)! What are you doing here? I did not summon you,” He says, looking at me. “Yes father, that is true, but I wish to no longer live,” I say, trying to keep a straight face.
“What do you mean?” He asks me, slightly startled. “I came to you, father, to ask you to kill me, wipe my memories and I will work for you, any job,” He does not answer me.
“Please, I can’t do this anymore! Please dad,” I fail to hold in my tears anymore. He hesitantly nods. I close my eyes, saying goodbye to Nico. He waves his hand. That's it, all I see is black for a second, then nothing.
Nico P.O.V.
It hit me like a truck. I could feel (Y/N)’s soul being ripped away from her body. I fell to my knees in shock. It replays itself in my mind a million times it feels like before someone finds me on the floor. I look up to see it’s Will. He shakes me, trying to get a reaction out of me, even words, but the only thing that comes out is a whimper before I collapse into him. Will holds me tight. "Nico?!?"
I can't breathe. I can barely see straight; no, this doesn't make sense, she's not-
But she is.
“She’s gone,”
A/N: Hey guys, so there will be a part 2 to this, the idea is pretty much the same, but it will be a Harry Potter version, not as sad because I don't think I can write such a depressing thing again. Comments and feedback would be appreciated.

trials of apollo tower of nero reaction
sooooo major spoilers and all that jazz here are my main reactions.
-i love love LOVE that Apollo does not get into a new a romantic relationship. same with Meg. Riordan finally breaking his own trope?
-i feel so bad that Dionysus is STILL being punished 100 years to run camp half blood for chasing a nymph that Zeus wanted. That feels disproportionate to Apollo, who got punished for “possibly starting the Gaea war”. (Altho at least Dionysus got to keep his godly powers.)
-I like the Python fight at face value more than I expected- it was what the BoO Gaea final fight *should* have been like. There wasn’t much buildup to how scary Python could be and i wish there was. However, the fight was actually difficult, required multiple stages/methods, Apollo was believably at a disadvantage. Python, his lair, and his powers, once we saw him, was actually kinda scary/threatening. I will await a few days to see if i still think this.
-I dislike Caleo, but I like this “ending”- Leo stays at Waystation with Jo & Emmie as adopted parents and some positive platonic female role models in his life. I personally headcanon that after Calypso finishes band camp, she & Leo realize that they can be good friends but not good relationship. Calypso might have needed someone to rescue her from Ogygia, but she does not need a relationship to fix her once she’s out.
-Piper and Shel *literally* came out of nowhere. Her Jason breakup made sense to me. Her getting over Jason *that* fast, though, does not.
-How come Lavinia doesn’t get an epilogue moment?
-Nero was a joke. Why the fuck did he make like 20~ remote controls. Even Commodus was more threatening than Nero.
-How did all the camp halfblood + trogs escape the tower when Nero pushed the gas thing?
-Badass Nico is back yay! But dammit, a lot of it is offscreen again. I also like that he still has the “please dont touch me unless I’m ok with it” thing. I also do appreciate that he’s not OP- his fight attempt at Nero was the only thing that made Nero seem any bit frightening.
-Apollo did not need to summarize every terrible thing that happened to Nico. Nico is arguably one of the most popular characters and I’m sure Riordan knows it. I also wish it was Nico (or maybe even Will) that confirmed for us that he was gay. I dont mind Will saying “I think Nico has PTSD”, but it feels pretentious coming from Apollo.
-Did Nico ever find out Reyna became a Hunter of Artemis? I wonder how angry he’ll get...
-Lu & Apollo’s jailbreak wasnt bad, but I still like Hazel/Percy/Frank’s jailbreak from the Amazons during SoN more.
-ok so education plothole: Annabeth was on the run at 7yo, then she was a year-rounder at camp halfblood. camp halfblood, unlike New Rome/Camp jupiter, does not have a schooling system. Annabeth also has dyslexia/ADHD- how did she manage to keep on track with her education enough to test into UC berkeley? I might make a post about this some more.
-ok i like that paul blofis is basically a rick riordan self insert.
-the dryad fight in nero’s throne room was actually threatening :( i also like that the nero throne room fight had several stages and, despite the trogs & nico, it did not feel like 20 deux ex machinas like in TLO
-why was apollo all giggly in the control room when nico rescued him? he’s gotten knocked in the head before, but this is the first time he was giggly.
-How did Apollo manage to claim 3 new kids while he was Lester? I can believe that he impregnated 3 people 10~ years ago and forgot about them tho.
